Full textThe ploughing effect appears frequently in machining. It influences the quality of machined surface, tool life and dynamical behavior of machining system. But modeling of ploughing is difficult as it is always coupled with the cutting effect. Nevertheless there could be found different ploughing models in scientific literature. But their correlation with experimental data is not easy and mostly of them is not adapted to the dynamical analysis of machining system. In the thesis we developed a new ploughing force model and proposed a methodology for its correlation with experimentation. This methodology was also validated for associated cutting force model. The ploughing and cutting force models with a dynamical model of machining system and kinematic model of surface formation were used in evaluation of impact of ploughing and extrusion effects on the dynamical behavior of machining system. The associated damping model was proposed

Full textMachining of flexible pieces, hard machining and high-speed machining put in evidence the need to study the dynamic behavior of the process. In particular, it is necessary to treat the Vibrations associated to the cutting phenomenon. To do this, the elementary mechanical phenomena are first characterized and formulized, and then all of the elements participating in the process are considered as a whole. During a machining operation, vibrations are controlled a priori by a large number of variables such as the cutting parameters and the flexibility of the piece as well as that of the wool Behavior models to be introduced into CAO/CAM programs in order to predict this dynamic behavior are nonexistent. This is the general framework of the present research work. Its objective is to characterize the dynamic behavior of flexible pieces and tools during a turning operation. The search of a model allowing to predict the dynamic response is very complex due to the number of elements involved (piece, tool, cutting, machine-tool. . . ) and the cutting phenomena to be modeled. The response of the piece to be machined is given by calculation based on the Finite Element Method. The flexibility of the tool and of its support are also considered in order to built a global dynamic model Cutting phenomena are formalized from experimental results (COM). Stability criteria are thus deduced. Successive operations of turning at a thin-wall tube, boring of a thick-wall tube and boring of a thin-wall tube are considered in order to strengthen the model

Full textHigh Speed Machining spindles are very efficient systems with a complex and sensitive dynamic behavior. Stability issues during machining can lead to bad quality of machined parts and also can reduce spindle lifetime. During this thesis, a numerical model has been developed to predict such instabilities. It also aims to improve the understanding of the spindle behavior and its variations with operating conditions (spindle speed, temperature, wear …). A phenomenological approach has been chosen for the model. At first, the axial behavior of the preloaded bearing system is considered. The axial equilibrium is resolved iteratively. The bearing stiffness are obtained from an analytical model that considers dynamic effects on bearing balls. The model updating performed on this axial model with a specific experiment lead to the complete bearing stiffness matrices and to preload parameters values. A radial model of the dynamic behavior of the spindle is then developed. An electromagnetic excitation device is used to measure the dynamic behavior of the spindle while rotating. The model parameters are identified from this experiment and some enrichment are proposed to improve the simulations results. Simulations are finally performed to study the influence of the operating conditions on the dynamic behavior of the spindle and also on its stability

Full textThe evolution of materials performances for cutting tools and their improvements allowed the experiment to operate with High Speed Machining (HSM). The diversity of parameters which determine the level of removal rate of the chip allows the constitution of several modalities in machining with the HSM system, therefore the important factors as efforts, vibrations, roughness, choice of tools, power… become constraints. In this context we had developed some researches in order to specify the behaviour of the cutting tool in Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN). . We had observed experimentally the profile of the wear at various cutting speeds. The profiles analysis process brings a contribution for good industrial mastery on turning tools wear. As summery, our study, which is essentially experimental, shows at first, that the geometry of the cutting evolves strongly in the life time of the tool. The CBN inserts, this lifetime increases as the chip section decreases, even though observations and measures have shown for each case an evolution in the geometry of cutting. With an increasing, at the same time, of specific efforts components of the cutting. These results show that the hard steel machining with CBN tools gives a good geometrical quality on the surface of tools machines, which one conceived with classic technologies on spindles with rolling bearing. On the other hand, the stress and metallurgical state of the manufactured surface make difficult their control because they are linked to a cut geometry which evolves strongly during the lifetime of the insert. This study shows, also, that the specific effort of cut changes strongly the direction in time and correlatively with the tool wear. It is really important to considerate this evolution to conceive a new tool machine and exploitable ranges of manufacturing in an industrial environment

Full textThe purpose of this thesis is to study the relations between the information system and the management accounting system in hospital. Thus, the principal theme of this work is management accounting, but we have used some litterature references in information system too. The theorical framework is the organizational change and our methodlogy is composed of two complementary methods : a questionnaire about management accounting and information system in hospital and a action research in a single hospital. The datas collected by our action research are read thanks to three axis. The first axis permits to understand the management tools generation logic in hospital. The second axis organizes the observation of changes and the third allows to construct our hypothesis corpus. Thanks to our action research, a first level of prescriptions is formulated. And the confrontation between this first level of prescriptions and our questionnaire allows to propose a second level of prescriptions, that is more general

Full textIn a context of world-wide economy that goes from complication to rising complexity, the certainty of constant change bring us to a new economical order, the hypercompetition. Indeed, the "feedbacks" between the industrial system components and the territorial system components to the principle of co-evolution in which the notion of time is a key element of the transformations. The important interaction between the components in the current economy leads the actors to the paradigm of the "adaptative dynamic" to constantly better their performance. On the basis on the internal analysis of these two systems, this work tries to demonstrate to what extent the competitiveness observed on the ground not only is the reflection of macro sector-based dynamics. It also tries to identify to what extent this competitiveness is also the result of organizational configuration and of the intra and inter systems coherence

Full textThis study, a collaboration between ECL-SNCF-FAIVELEY TRANSPORT, proposes a mechanical model of current collection. It led to simulation software written in C++, named PACAT3D. The work includes the development of pantograph and of catenary models and numerical methods to deal with and the pantograph / catenary coupling equations. The pantograph is modelled with the help of multibody methods. Absolute nodal coordinates are used in order to simplify the definition of the joints. The non-linear damper of the pantograph has been thoroughly studied. A large experimental work has been used as a guideline for the models development and allowed their validation. The catenary is modelled by finite-elements. The non-linearity arising from the droper's release are taken into account. A study on the three dimension behaviour of the catenary has been carried out. Techniques to handle systems of equations with constraints are describe : their transform to fit with explicit integration methods, static calculus, constraint relaxation and reestablishment. Many strategies are tested in order to find out the contact force between the mobil pantograph and the discretized catenary; particulary the use of wire elements obtained through modal synthesis. An analytical method enable the validation of the pantographjcatenary coupling. It applies to the stationary response study of a moving pantograph under an infinite periodical catenary. Based upon the Fourier series decomposition of the variables expressed in the moving frame, it leads to the resolution of an eigen value problem

It consists of an association of three numerical models in finite elements, reproducing the process of the phenomenon. A first model calculates the pressure field, function of the ship speed. Then a second model, with this pressure field, moves the vessel following a force and momentum result. The last model updates the mesh for a new cycle. The system is running as long as the equilibrium model moves the vessel

Full textThe motion of a confined bubble/droplet is known to be influenced by the boundary conditions at the interface between the dispersed and continuous phases (Cantat, PoF 2013).Two classical experimental configurations (without any surfactants) have been reported:- a stress-free bubble pushed by an external phase, known as the Bretherton problem (Bretherton, JFM 1961);- a bubble pushed by Marangoni stress at the interface stemming from a constant temperature gradient, known as the Mazouchi problem (Mazouchi et al., PoF 2000).In order to study the influence of those boundary conditions, we have developped a microfluidic system allowing to monitor the bubble/droplet interfacial stress with a thermocapillary Marangoni stress. Our goal is to combine both of these configurations, by imposing an external pressure gradient and an external temperature gradient, with both theoretical and experimental approaches. We will present a new theoretical framework allowing to encompass both these contributions to the bubble/droplet motion, as well as corresponding experimental realisations

Full textHigh dynamic range (HDR) image generation using temporal exposure bracketing is widely used to recover the whole dynamic range of a filmed scene by fusion of two or more low dynamic range (LDR) images. Temporal exposure bracketing technique should be employed for static scenes and it cannot be applied directly for dynamic scenes. Motions introduced by moving objects in the LDR stack images create ghosts artifacts in the reconstructed HDR image. In this thesis, we have studied and evaluated a large nuber of algorithms used to correct or avoid these artifacts and we mad a trade-off between robustness and complexity in order to propose a real-time HDR video generation system. The real-time HDR image generation system is implemented on a FPGA circuit. This FPGA-based smart camera is presented with some experimental results to demonstrate the selected method and design efficiency. The proposed system enables HDR video streams, including ghost removal processing, to be generated at 60 f ps for a full sensor resolution (1280 × 1024)

Full textModification of modal parameters is considered the main tool for the evaluation of characteristic changes of a non stationary dynamic system. Therefore, our first interest is to obtain these modal parameters from vibration measures using identification methods. Three methods are discussed here: Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD), Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) and Smooth Orthogonal Decomposition (SOD). Then, in order to evaluate the mass changes in non stationary systems, three steps are proposed: instant localization of mass changes (step 1), determination of geometrical location of the mass changes (step 2) and quantification of mass changes (step 3). The Wavelet transform (WT), considered to be a time-frequency analysis, is indented in step 1. In step 2, three methods for the detection of the position of the mass changes are developed. Finally, the relative variation of the natural frequencies of the system is used to evaluate the relative variation of the mass in step 3. The efficiency of these methods is verified by numerical tests. Moreover a building experimental model, instrumented with accelerometers, is studied in the case of after-shock vibrations. These experimental tests permit to validate the methods proposed in this thesis

Full textThe Tol-Pal system is a macromolecular complex conserved in Gram-negative bacteria. It is involved in two critical aspects of cell life: the outer membrane integrity and cell division. Composed of 5 partners, TolQ, TolR and TolA form an inner membrane complex, and the lipoprotein Pal is anchored to the outer membrane and interact with the PG and the periplasmic protein TolB. A TolA-Pal interaction can connect both inner and outer membranes, and has been shown to be PMF and TolQR-dependent. The TolQR proteins form a complex which is part of the molecular motor family and share several homologies with the Mot and Ton system, involved in flagella rotation and iron intake. An organization model of TolQ and TolR has been proposed previously, in which the two proteins form an ionic channel in the inner membrane. Firstly, our work focused on the proteins TolQ, TolR and TolA to confirm and specify this model. With a cysteine scanning approach, we showed direct physical interactions TolQ -TolR and TolA-TolR. By identifying the amino acids involved in these interactions, we were able to refine our model about the TolQRA inner membrane complex assembly.Secondly, we focused our work on the cell division process in which the Tol-Pal system is involved. We initiated a systematic fluorescence microscopy approach to understand how this machinery operates in E. coli. We showed that the Tol-Pal machinery is recruited to cell septum during cell division, and that PMF is required to allow Pal septal localization.Overall, these results provide a better comprehension on the Tol-Pal machinery mechanism and particularly its dynamic in response to the use of PMF as source energy

The involved double-sided contact is represented by a classical torsion stiffness and a viscous torsion damping. The piecewise linear motion equation obtained is solved by a semi analytical method. A continuation technique, based on a semi analytical shooting method, is used to describe periodic orbits and their bifurcations. The chaotic behaviour is revealed by the computed Lyaopunov exponents and Poincaré applications. Finally, an experiment idealizing the vacuum pump system has been performed. Experimental and computed results will be confronted to validate the model and the analysis procedure

Full textIn this thesis, a dynamic simulation model and a dynamic exergy analysis of a domestic vapour compression refrigerating system are developed, in order to decrease system energy consumption. The system consists of a compressor, a condenser, a diabatic capillary tube, an evaporator, a capillary tube-suction line heat exchanger and an insulation cabinet. The mathematical model of exchangers is based on mass, momentum and energy conservation equations, in which the refrigerant phase change and the transient and distributive parameters are introduced. The Control-volume formulation and the "SIMPLE C" algorithm are applied in the numerical solutions. The diabatic capillary tube model is distributive and include heat exchange in the tube-suction line exchanger. The critical flow and refrigerant discharge at capillary tube outlet are taken into account. The hermetic compressor model includes lubricant oil effect and heat exchange inside the compressor. The coupling of natural convection and radiation is taken into account in the insulation cabinet model. Once component models have been established, a new iterative solution method for coupling system model is developed. This method presents a "self-convergence" based on the mass balance of exchangers and on compressor and capillary tube characteristics. A method to determine the initial conditon from the refrigerant charge is presented as well. It enables to optimize the system refrigerant charge dynamically over a given operational range. In order to analyze system transient behaviour, a dynamic exergy balance of the refrigeration system has been established. This exergy balance enables to localize and quantify instantaneously system exergy losses, and thus shows the possible system performance improvement. An exergy efficiency for refrigeration system has been defined in order to characterize the thermodynamic perfection of the system in comparison with a correspondent reversible system. The dynamic simulation model and exergy analysis have been used on a domestic regrigerator working with R134a

Investment in the healt service increased drasticaly over manu years to reach the rate of 6,5% of the g. D. P. In 1990. It has appeared that a new way for this system was needed, to reach a better level of health, through a deep analytical research

Full textThe increase in large-scale climate, technological, sanitary, and many other types of losses, challenges us on the governance of the concerned systems, the choices made to hedge these risks and implement prevention measures. The question which animated our research is : to what extent the governance of a system promotes a better risk management? Our empirical analysis is based on two case studies which focus on the governance of a system while facing catastrophic risks for first one, and on common risks for the other. On the one hand, catastrophic risks are known to be highly improbable but with possible serious consequences. The dynamic of the adaptive governance system facing catastrophic risks underlines the need for a (dynamic) flexible approach. We therefore suggest an assessment framework for the adaptive capacity of a system in the field of catastrophic risks. On the other hand, common risks affect the whole population. We consider that the adaptive governance in a deliberative democracy refers to the governance paradigm which addresses common risks whose consequences spread out into the future. Thus, it induces decision makers to look at the long run. The dilemma consists in taking (now) decisions (i.e. Risk, in the general sense of the word) whose effects (or consequences) are only felt in the future. The governance of a system shall promote risk management. Our research is structured into three parts (i.e. "Governance and risk", "Governance of a system exposed to a catastrophic risk" and "Governance of a system exposed to a common risk"), each composed of three chapters. The ultimate objective of the management of risks, or even uncertainties, which characterize our contemporary societies is a legitimate reason for having dynamic modes of governance that prompt different actors to work together in various ways, in order to meet challenges they face

Full textIn a full automation context with a strong Information Technology (IT) component, organizational transformations should always be accompanied by an evolution of the different information systems. In that sense, operational users of the information systems must recognize the use of information systems in terms of their functionality, and their ability to rapidly and continuously answer the requirements of the evolution of the organization.Having Information Systems (IS) which reflect businesses is not a luxury for companies. The shortfall for the company in the absence of alignment is the impact on the organization performance: The non-adequacy of the IS limits the daily tasks and degrades the potential benefits of full automation. Thus, the production system is conditioned by the IS. Beyond its functional necessity, alignment is also justified by the cost of its implementation compared to a non-alignment.This thesis aims at ensuring systematic and continuous Business / IT alignment in a complex and dynamic environment. Our study was led by the specificity of the case study and the literature review. We propose a methodology based on a "Reference Model" to minimize the Business / IT alignment gap. From a functional standpoint, the methodology relies on capturing user requirements in a Reference Model and finding acceptable compromises for the IT development, to reach the alignment incrementally. The methodology is applied on a “processability” case study in semiconductor manufacturing

The main objective is to do mathematical analysis and numerical simulation of the models built. This thesis is divided into two parts : The first part is dedicated to a predator-prey system where the prey uses a refuge, the model is given by a system of ordinary differential equations or stochastic differential equations. The purpose of this part is to study the impact of the refuge as well as the stochastic perturbation on the behavior of the solutions of the system. In the second part, we consider a networked predator-prey system. We show that symmetric couplings speed up the convergence to a stationary distribution

Full textIn the context of the fourth industrial revolution (I4.0), manufacturing enterprises confront major challenges, in particular, technological, organizational, and methodological transformation as well as the determination of the roadmap to achieve these objectives. Knowing that the Lean Manufacturing approach and its derivative, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), are widely used in manufacturing companies, the evolution of this approach towards I4.0 could be the main key to success. The transformation of approach is one of the important projects of FPT Powertrain Technologies company, in which this CIFRE thesis was carried out. To identify the necessary transformation of the WCM approach and while building on the principles of I4.0, we first proposed creations and/or some modifications in the phases and stages of the technical pillars of WCM. In the second part, the contribution of this work is related to the development of a decision support system for a dynamic organization of production systems. In this respect, we focused on the problem of dynamic sequencing while taking into account real-time data and information about disruptive events. We proposed a mathematical optimization model to determine the optimal production sequencing by considering the dynamic aspect of the system. In parallel, a commercial simulation software, called FlexSim, is used, allowing us to develop a simulation model for the same problem. By using an optimization engine (OptQuest) integrated into FlexSim, we were also obtained a near-optimal solution with a significantly shorter calculation time. The comparison of the obtained results, as well as the advantages, disadvantages, and their applicability in a real manufacturing system, are also discussed

Full textThe system tubulin/microtubules plays a key-role during mitosis and disturbing its dynamic equilibrium can prevent cell division and induce apoptosis. Antitubulin agents are divided into two classes: those that bind to microtubules, stabilizing them and preventing their depolymerization, and those that bind to tubulin dimer, preventing the formation of microtubules. Most of the known antitubulin agents are characterized by a very complex structure, and therefore are relatively hard to synthesize. We planned to use dynamic combinatorial chemistry combined with the reversible formation of imines in water to identify new potential antitubulin agents. This approach is based on the reversible connection between different building blocks to form a chemical library under thermodynamic equilibrium. In the presence of a target, the distribution of the library may be altered, with an amplification for the best binders, which can be detected by an adequate analytical method after fixation of the library’s distribution. We have demonstrated that dynamic combinatorial chemistry is applicable to the dynamic macromolecular system tubulin/microtubules. Using adequate conditions, we have shown that it is possible to target either the tubulin dimer or microtubules. Then we have designed and synthesized two types of scaffolds in order to use them in dynamic libraries. Among the numerous dynamic libraries we prepared some amplifications were identified. Analogues of amplified imines were synthesized and tested on tubulin. Therefore we were able to identify a new class of microtubules ligands and to show that the orientation of two aromatic moieties plays a key role for the type of activity

Full textThis thesis analyses empirically the structural properties of the economy and evaluates the impact of changes in its structure on aggregate outcomes such as production and the spreading of shocks. The analysis in this thesis is part of a multidisciplinary approach where input-output is combined with complex network analysis to study the productive structure of an economy. We analyze the european union's input-output network as a whole, the input-output network of 22 member countries, and the french input-output network using a more disaggregated classification of sectors. The first chapter studies the structural properties of the economy identifying the most important sectors. In this first chapter, we investigate if global centrality measures in network analysis provide additional information of the productive structure and the role and importance of sectors in it. We found that the economy has an asymmetric structure with only a few very important sectors that have good diffusion properties. The second chapter evaluates the impact of these properties as the capability of sectors to spread shocks and form avalanches in the economy. We use three models to measure the impact of two types of sectoral shocks : a shock on final demand and a shock on technology. Results show that the asymmetrical structure of european economies makes them vulnerable to large avalanchess. Finally, third explores the mechanism generating the structure of the economy and its evolution through time driven by technological progress. In the model proposed in the third chapter sectors create new connections and change the intensity of old ones according to their centrality

Recent research has demonstrated the importance of sexual reproduction for many “clonal” arctic and subarctic species such as crowberry (Empetrum hermaphroditum). Our study focused on a population that is undergoing rapid expansion through sexual reproduction on a subarctic sand dune system in Northern Québec. We described the recent dynamics of this population, evaluated individual performance across the topographic gradient and investigated climate-growth relationships. Between 2007 and 2012, the population experienced extensive recruitment, low mortality and rapid growth, contributing to its expansion. However, competition in the most heavily colonized areas of the dune system seemed to limit growth and reproduction. Positive climate-growth relationships suggest that recent warming in the study area promoted the rapid expansion observed since the mid-1990s. Further colonization of the dune system could lead to decreased diversity and delayed succession.

Full textMalaysia is under severe deforestation pressure. There is an urgent need to plan oil palm cultivation by turning to sustainable strategies. An alert system targeting illegal deforestation would be a valuable tool for managers. Google Earth Engine is used to set up a warning system of deforestation from medium resolution satellite images. Sentinel-2 and Landsat 8 optical images are combined with Sentinel-1 radar images for high repeatability and limit cloud cover impact. The change vector analysis detects deforestation on each new acquisition based on forest reference image. Results show sufficient accuracy with optical sensors (less than 11% commission and omission error). However, the radar sensor gives lower results (14% commission error and 28% commission error), related to many artefacts caused by the speckle. Therefore, we use a dynamic score related to the observation of 3 sensors over 3 months, which indicates a level of confidence. This method provides 7% of omission error and 0% of commission error for events with a high level of confidence, with a score greater than 20 points.
