Abstract:
A new type of database anomaly called Cumulated Anomaly (CA) is dealt with in this paper. It occurs when submitting the time of authorized transactions or the changed data is cumulated out of some thresholds. A database-level detection method for Cumulated Anomaly is proposed based on statistics and fuzzy set theories. By measuring each database transaction with a real number between zero and one, this method quantitatively monitors how dangerous a transaction is. The real number is termed dubiety degree; therefore the method is named as Dubiety-Determining Method (DDM). After formally presenting the concepts of Cumulated Anomaly and DDM, the algorithm of DDM is given in detail. Software system architecture to support DDM was designed and implemented. Three experiments were performed on it for testing DDM. The first experiment showed the general results of DDM with a set of randomly generated audit records, while the second one simulated a practical case. DDM monitored dubiety degrees for each database transaction and detected expected Cumulated Anomaly in two experiments. The effect on database performance by DDM was tested in the last experiment. Experimental results show that DDM method is feasible and effective.

Abstract:
A major problem with grass is that during ensilage the proteins are degraded and nitrogen lost as non protein nitrogen. In the animal a disadvantage of grass silage is that the proteinaceous nitrogen is readily degraded in the rumen to ammonia. There is considerable evidence in the literature indicating that ruminal undegradable protein is a desirable component of some feeds (AFRC, 1993). This is valuable since proteins that by-pass the rumen may be digested in the intestine and the resultant amino acids absorbed. Tannins have been identified by other workers as suitable for the protection of protein in the rumen. However, there is some dubiety regarding the subsequent efficient release of protein in the intestine (McNabb et al., 1993). The effect of quebracho or mimosa tannins or formaldehyde or a combination of tannin/formate or formaldehyde/formate on silage total tract disappearance of dry matter (DM), nitrogen and total amino acids (TAA) was examined in this study.

Abstract:
Professor Keppel Archibald Cameron Creswell (1879–1974), better known as K.A.C. Creswell or simply Creswell, was definitely one of the most prominent and prolific scholars in the field of Islamic art and architecture. His gigantic two-volume Early Muslim Architecture, of which Volume I was first published in Oxford in 1932, remains widely acknowledged as the most important reference for early Islamic architecture so far. Nevertheless, Creswell’s hypothesis on the genesis of the mosque type and his perception of the first mosque in Islam betray a considerable amount of dubiety and suffer a myriad of critical deficiencies. As he maintains, the making of the mosque, as defined in the modern sense, was launched not by the Prophet, as commonly believed, but by Ziyād b. Abīh when he reconstructed the mosque of Baṣra in 45/665. Astonishingly, these views of Creswell were adopted and further enhanced by quite a number of notable specialists over eighty-five years. This article will subject such views to scrutiny with the aim of identifying the first mosque in Islam and the religious as well as historical contexts in which it emerged. This discussion becomes more persistent, however, given the dominant misconceptions about the topic in Western as well as Muslim scholarships.

Abstract:
The aim of this study is to discuss the possible destinies of the subject in a contemporary society that has been almost completely immersed in and seduced by knowledge, especially knowledge generated in the context of digital technology. First, there will be a quick review of the path taken by the knowledge society from the point of view of two central aspects: governance and sociability. Next, this article will evaluate some of the impacts of digital technology on today’s society, which will consider the interaction between the subject and the knowledge society. This will be done through a sociogenetic analysis, based on historical-cultural psychology. A knowledge society should express itself in a variety of ways, especially starting from principles linked to democracy or social exclusion. At the same time, this dubiety leads some researchers to take on ambiguous positions, sometimes mistrusting knowledge and cultural achievements, sometimes displaying excessive optimism. In this context, one of the possible destinies for the subject once provoked might be to resist the temptation of the charms of the knowledge society, not affording it undue value, but also not underestimating it, thereby the term ‘almost’. A society of subjects situated historically faces the challenge, not of managing knowledge as something ‘per se’, but of understanding that it is the subject who precedes all the various instances of worldly life.

Abstract:
Abstract Low grade gliomas (LGG), including pilocytic astrocytoma (PCA), are the commonest paediatric brain tumours and their behaviour is well understood, typically following a benign course. BRAF fusion is common, particularly in PCA of the cerebellum and optic pathway. Here we present two patients whose LGG behaved in an unusual fashion. The first patient who was treated 6 years previously on LGG2 with vincristine and carboplatin for a tectal plate lesion was identified on routine imaging to have local tumour progression and underwent completion staging. This showed a new enhancing soft tissue abnormality within the spinal cord at the level of L2. Due to radiological dubiety both lesions were biopsied for histological and molecular analysis, confirming LGG of the tectal plate and finding the spinal lesion to be a myxopapillary ependymoma. The second patient presented with acute hydrocephalus following a 2 year history of neurocognitive impairments. He was found to have a large, complex tumour centred in and expanding the bodies of both lateral ventricles with significant mass effect. Radiologically this was most in keeping with a central neurocytoma but histological analysis confirmed it to be a PCA with KIAA1549-BRAF fusion. The first case demonstrates the utility of molecular analysis in confirming two distinct tumour types in one patient, in a situation where metastasis would not be expected and would significantly alter treatment and prognosis. The second is an example of how imaging can be misleading in a KIAA1549-BRAF fused PCA presenting as an intraventricular mass.

Abstract:
In the present work the detailed analysis of the space-time variation, of the seismic energy released and b-value was performed, in order to study the space regularity manifestation of the temporal variation of seismic parameters, to test the reliability of the results and to compare the obtained temporal profiles in relation to the strong earthquake activity. The study was carried out in the subduction zone along the western part of the Hellenic trench arc system. The earthquakes data, witch occurs in the five adjacent local areas in the period 1980 -2007 were used. The reliability of the results is tested positively for “internal” dubiety, against independent seismic data sets from adjacent local areas, being in common the processing method, and the properties of seismic catalogue. It was found that in the majority of the cases (23 of 32) the significant temporal variation changes, considered as anomalies, can be related to the preparation process of the strong earthquakes Ms>5.7, acting as intermediate term precursors. Based on these findings the quality index of the successful intermediate term earthquake predictions reach up to 71.9%. It is observed that the temporal variation of the seismic energy released anomalies were time shifted in respect to the central areas, toward to N-NE and S-SE direction. Moreover it is found that the strong earthquakes occurrence also shows immigration, in respect to the central areas, along the concatenation of the adjacent local areas. These two observations may reveal the formation of a tectonic wave, in the broader area south of Zakynthos Island, Its velocity was estimated to be as 100 to 150 km/year

Abstract:
Purpose: To assess the incidence of post-operative vomiting/nausea (PVN), as well as usage and effectiveness of PVN prophylaxis in Chinese patients receiving bariatric surgery. Methods: This prospective observational study included 82 patients subjected to bariatric surgery using total intravenous (IV) anesthesia. Patients were given PVN prophylactic treatment as per the local practice depending on Apfel et al criterion for simplified risk score useful for PVN prediction. Postsurgery, the patients were evaluated at 2, 4, 6, 24, 48 and 72 h using a questionnaire. Univariate analysis of risk factors associated with PVN was carried conducted with Pearson’s Chi-squared test for category variables and Mann–Whitney–Wilcoxon test for a continuous variable. Results: About 69 % of the patients developed PVN within 24 h post-surgery, and the risk increased with increase in the number of PVN risk factors. Significant contrasts were seen with respect to PVN, with higher occurrence in females (81.36 %), when compared to males (39.13 %) within the first 24 h (p < 0.05). Two patients got sub-optimum PVN prophylactic therapy as per guidelines, 19 patients had optimum therapy, while 61 patients had supra-optimum therapy. Moreover, 63.94 % of patients who obtained supra-optimum PVN prophylactic therapy experienced PVN within 24 h post-surgery, while 84.21 % of patients with optimum PVN prophylactic therapy experienced PVN within the same period (p < 0.05). Overall, 35.37 % of patients experienced serious nausea 24 h post-surgery. Conclusion: PVN incidence is high, notwithstanding the fact that almost all the patients received optimum or supra-optimum prophylactic therapy. These findings raise dubiety regarding the viability and significance of using risk-based PVN prophylactic therapy in patients under bariatric surgery. Thus, further research is needed in this regard.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is that through qualitative interviews increase understanding of social factors that exist when leaving a religious congregation. Our primary focus has been to see what the feeling of belonging is significance of an exit process. But we also affects other social factors that come into play when doubt arises in the member which then led her to leave the congregation. We have interviewed people who have been members of the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Word of Life. In order to increase understanding of the problems that an exit-process may contain we have in our analysis used the Vanessa May's (2013) theory of belonging, Eric Fromm's (1994) theory of flight and Scheff's (1994) concept couple Shame/pride. With one participant observation and 8 narrative interviews we have approached an sensitive subject and studied the social factors that influence the desire to leave a religious congregation. The results shows that belonging and organizational factors of a social nature is of great importance in an exit-process. It turns out that strict rules and conditions of life had members begin to doubt the assembly and its organizational culture. Community and shame are social factors that we have seen is included in the parishes organizational design and proven to influence the way out of the churches.

Frazer, Elizabeth. Shakespeare and the Political Way. Oxford University Press, 2020. http://dx.doi.org/10.1093/oso/9780198848615.001.0001.

Full text
Abstract:
This book offers a sustained analysis of normative concepts and theories of political conduct and power, focusing on why we (should) value ‘the political way’, by examining Shakespeare’s dramatic treatments of the puzzles of domination and sovereignty, and how the dramas explicitly pose questions of action and theatricality. Politics—in the broadest sense, as contestation over and for power to govern—is commonly associated with ethical dubiety. Much political thought, accordingly, focuses on conditions of citizen and governor virtue and wisdom, or on displacement of politics in favour of constitution and law, private exchange, or some other source of authority such as religion. Some, though, focuses on the positive values of political action—its creativity or immanent values of commitment and forgiveness. Shakespeare’s characters and plots for the most part treat political power as a species of wickedness (in particular as ‘machiavellian’), ironically (with play on the idea of ‘politic’ action); or as ineffectual (compared with voluntaristic love, the power of money, patriarchal authority, or violence). But readings (sometimes against the grain of text, plot, and established interpretations of the psychology and ethics of the plays) taking into account the theatrical engagement of Shakespeare’s drama with the politics and power of his time produce complex accounts of the hope and promise of a political way of resolving human dilemmas and difficulties. The chapters develop an original approach to theories of political power, showing the particular value of examination of these issues through the frame of Shakespeare’s drama.

Abstract:
Star studies has made a significant theoretical contribution to film studies over the past thirty years, and has been important in offering a variety of methods for understanding what constitutes a star. Nonetheless, rarely, apart from critical reviews contemporaneous to the release of the films, has the animal been mentioned or awarded judicious attention in academic publications. Furthermore, invariably, the analysis of stardom in film is confined to the study of humans and, by extension, human performance. Using Uggie in The Artist (Hazanavicius 2011) as a case study, this chapter introduces the notion of animal as star, and analyses the ways in which media, publicity and film language promote the animal to what Emmanuel Gouabault, Annik Dubied and Claudine Burton-Jeangros (2011) term ‘superindividual’ status.
