Abstract:
This paper introduces the architecture and the deployment of a Cloud based decision support system (DSS). The DSS the authors proposed is deployed on a platform Cloud (CloudBees) and managed by the OpenStack infrastructure. The DSS is built on the Cloud Computing architecture with three layers and includes the multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) method PROMETHEE II as well as the procedure of negotiation Hare in order to help the decision makers to select the best urban project. The Cloud based DSS reduces the deployment and processing time, ameliorates the communication and the cooperation between the decision makers, facilitates the accessibility and decrease the cost. The Cloud based multiple criteria DSS the authors designed and implemented has significant advantages. It reduces the deployment and processing time, ameliorates the communication and the cooperation between the decision makers, facilitates the accessibility, and decrease the cost.

Abstract:
A web-based Decision Support System WebOptim for solving multiple objective optimization problems is presented. Its basic characteristics are: user-independent, multisolver-admissibility, method-independent, heterogeneity, web-accessibility. Core system module is an original generalized interactive scalarizing method. It incorporates a number of thirteen interactive methods. Most of the known scalarizing approaches (reference point approach, reference direction approach, classification approach etc.) could be used by changing the method’s parameters. The Decision Maker (DM) can choose the most suitable for him/her form for setting his/her preferences: objective weights, aspiration levels, aspiration directions, aspiration intervals. This information could be changed interactively by the DM during the solution process. Depending on the DM’s preferences form the suitable scalarizing method is chosen automatically. In this way the demands on the DM’s knowledge and experience in the optimization methods area are minimized.

Abstract:
Modern society significant part is made up of People with Limited Mobility (PLM). This category of citizens is limited in movement and experiences problems of interaction with social infrastructure: first of all, these are people with disabilities (disabled people), who, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), make up more than 15% of the world's population, as well as people moving, for example, from baggage or stroller. Researchers identify three main problems in the interaction of PLM with social infrastructure: the first is related to the physical barriers of social infrastructure facilities (SIF) the second is the inaccessibility of information about SIF, and the third includes a number of social problems caused by the attitude towards PLM within society. Efficiency improving in the field of urban mana¬gement and ensuring the information availability of SIF for PLM is possible through the use of geographic information technologies, electronic maps and digital city information systems, as well as specialized decision support systems. The purpose of research is to solve an urgent scientific and technical problem of implementing a support system for making informed management decisions in the field of ensuring the availability of information systems for PLM, as well as developing a methodology for assessing the effectiveness of the DSS. Materials and methods. Control theory for the development of an intelligent decision support method, software and hardware implementation tools, as well as an analytical, computational and graphical method for evaluating the effectiveness of development. Results. A DSS has been developed in the field of managing the availability of SIF for PLM. An assessment of the DSS functioning quality and efficiency was made, the analytical and graphical results of the efficiency assessment were reflected. Conclusion. The paper describes a methodology for the development of a DSS for managing the accessibility of SIF for PLM, including the introduction into the existing urban management system and evaluating the effectiveness of intellectual support methods in managing the accessibility of social infrastructure for PLM.

Abstract:
Careful planning of skid trails as wood extraction routes in forests is an ongoing task and necessary for minimizing the environmental damage. The main objective of this study is to find skid trails to extract marked trees from stand sites to landing sites using a GIS-based decision support system (DSS) and network analysis techniques, where environmental information is incorporated into the objective. The techniques were applied in a stand where single trees are felled in near-to-nature conditions. This system is called a single tree selection cutting method. Parameters considered for mapping the terrain stability include slope, soil and stream network. The analytical hierarchy process was used to estimate the weights of these parameters. Routing between marked trees and log landing was done using a GPS-tracking survey and then the analysis was done using new route and service area tools in GIS. The service area tool shows accessibility of marked trees by skid trails. Results showed that on average the length of the route decreased by 6.65 and 19.22% with the use of a new route tool in compartments 29 and 4, respectively. In conclusion, DSS techniques increased accessibility of marked trees and decreased the length of the route.

Abstract:
In the paper there was an attempt to characterize the main types of district settlement systems in central regions of Russia (except Moscow and Moscow district) and Central Chernozem economical districts. District Settlement Systems (further - DSS) - the most widespread variant of settlement systems and these very systems are actually the environment of rural population and population of small towns and urban-type settlements. Recently the role of district centres is growing, The types of district settlement systems are singled out with the help of combination of the DSS classes, population density and accessibility of centres. 9 types of the DSS were distinguished with the help of this method. The changes of the population in district settlement systems of different types (throughout the period from 1989 to 2022) were examined. The types of DSS for which the decrease of the population is typical were found out.

Abstract:
In completing a competitors’ analysis in the railway sector by using the “Knowledge House” method, there is frequently a problem of data and information accessibility. The quality of primary information has direct influence on the quality of analytical conclusions. One more condition for the qualitative application of this method is the intellectual capital and experience of the analyst. One should note that in this regard we face another problem, that of selection of proper personnel, on the qualification of whom depends the accuracy of the evaluation and final results, on the basis of which strategic decisions are taken. The main aim of the paper is to assess the opportunities for applications of competitive intelligence methods in the railway sector. The study is using “Knowledge House”, DWS, DMS, DSS methodologies. Having analysed the scientific works the direct scientific sources of information, which are oriented to the application of the methods of competitive intelligence to the railway sector, have not been identified. The paper is absolutely original in that until now the competitive intelligence techniques have not been applied for the railway sector companies. Considering the fact that foreign companies, which compete for freighting at the international level, are regarded as the main competitors of the railway sector, the use of the methods of the competitive intelligence becomes more important while fighting for the part of the market. The competitive intelligence methods and their application to the railway sector companies are little studied. In accordance with application of the relevant methods in other sectors, it can be assumed that these innovative approaches could have a positive impact on the competitiveness of companies in the railway sector and their income.

Abstract:
In this paper, supply system of LPG to fuel station is presented as a specific example of vendor managed inventory replenishment concept. A single hauler of LPG is considered, which operates within the network of domestic depots and performs deliveries to hundreds of final customers being responsible for full accessibility for all supported LPG stations. The carrier is responsible for the entire LPG supply planning process (volume as well as scheduling of deliveries), information process, completed deliveries and any problems arising during execution. In the article the LPG supply process and the planning system which has been developed are presented with a brief presentation of an interactive computer system (DSS implementation) developed and implemented in the reporting enterprise. The work ends with an indication of the benefits of using a system approach to planning and determination of the directions for further research.

Abstract:
Quebracho (Qu) and chestnut (Ch) are natural sources of tannins and they are currently used in animal nutrition as feed ingredients. However, to date the bio-accessibility, antimicrobial, antioxidant, and intestinal epithelial cell stimulatory doses of Qu and Ch have not been determined. Our study investigates the antioxidant and E. coli F4+ and F18+ growth inhibitory activity of Qu, Ch, and their combinations after solubilization in water (to evaluate the already bio-accessible molecules) and after simulated gastro-intestinal digestion in vitro. The effect of an in vitro digested Ch and Qu combination was also tested on intestinal epithelial IPEC-J2 cells experimentally stressed with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and Dextran Sodium Sulfate (DSS). The results showed that undigested Qu and Ch alone, and in combination, exerted a valuable antioxidant capacity and E. coli F4+ and F18+ growth inhibitory activity. The concentration of 1200 µg/mL exhibited the highest E. coli growth inhibitory activity for all the samples tested. In addition, after in vitro digestion, Qu and Qu50%–Ch50% maintained E. coli growth inhibitory activity and a modest antioxidant capacity. Three hours pre-treatment with in vitro digested Qu50%–Ch50% counteracted the H2O2 and DSS experimentally-induced stress in the intestinal IPEC-J2 cells. Ch and Qu tannin extracts, particularly when combined, may exert E. coli F4+ and F18+ growth inhibitory activity and valuable antioxidant and cell viability modulation activities.

Abstract:
Objective: To evaluate whether attitudes towards sexuality acquired by students during a Spanish nursing degree are sufficient for their performance in professional practice. Methods: This is a descriptive, cross-sectional, and quantitative study based on a self-completion survey composed of standardized scales that compare sexual attitudes among 101 first-year students with 86 fourth-year students. The 187 nursing students, 24 men and 163 women were between 18 and 60 years old (Mage=21.21, SD=5.48). The evaluative instrument was an anonymous questionnaire that consisted of sociodemographic questions and two standardized scales: Attitudes Towards Sexuality Scale (ATSS-28) and Double Standard Scale (DSS). Results: Comparison between cohorts using the Mann-Whitney U test proved to be close to being significant in the ATSS, U=3625.50, z=-1.95, p=.052 and significant in DSS, U=3560.50, z=-2.13, p=.034. These findings indicate that fourth-year students have more positive attitudes towards sexuality and less rigid adherence to gender roles. In addition, a medium negative correlation, rs=-.307, p=.001, between ATSS and DSS was obtained, showing a positive association between attitudes and less adherence to gender roles. These results suggest that nursing degree training had a positive impact on sexual attitudes. Conclusion: Healthcare professionals are centrally involved in the care of patients and families. Nurses’ attitudes towards sexuality are important in terms of patient comfort and the accessibility and acceptability of care. Implementation of training in sexuality has a positive effect on nursing care and favours the establishment of global health strategies.

Abstract:
Abstract CREB-binding protein (CBP) is a transcriptional coactivator involved in the regulation of DNA accessibility to transcription factors. Phosphorylation of human CBP by IKKα at Ser1382/1386 plays a critical role in the regulation of cell fate by suppressing p53-mediated gene expression. Therefore, we evaluated whether impaired serine phosphorylation of CBP is involved in the pathogenesis of disease. We generated mutated serine 1383/1387 to alanine knock-in mice (AA mice) to study whether they exhibit any phenotype alteration. AA mice showed an IBD-like phenotype with softer, looser and hemoccult stools and shorter colon length compared to the wild type mice. Increased p53 accompanied with apoptosis in colonic tissues of AA mice was demonstrated by IHC and TUNEL staining. In addition, male AA mice were more vulnerable to DSS-induced colitis with severe crypt loss and epithelial disruption. Elevated immune cells in mesenteric lymph nodes are more prominent in AA mice with infiltration of neutrophil and macrophage. However, the differentiation of CD4+ T cells was not affected with Cbp mutation (AA) ex vivo. Taken together, deficiency of NF-kB signaling in AA mice did not affect immune cells but modulated apoptosis of IECs. Our findings suggested that serine phosphorylation of CBP by IKKα might be a critical regulator to maintain intestinal homeostasis.

Abstract:
Introduction In the last decades Multiple Myeloma (MM) has had a surge in clinical research and novel therapies with a subsequent impact in clinical outcomes. Nonetheless, these changes have stagnated and remain slow-occurring in populations without wide accessibility to therapies. Worse outcomes have been related to multiple factors, both patient and myeloma-related. There is scarce data regarding resource-poor settings like in Latin America; where economic disadvantage, multiple comorbidities, and higher disease aggressiveness could all play competing roles towards unfavorable results. The aim of this study was to analyze the contemporary relevance and impact of social, economic, and biological factors on the real-world outcomes in Latin American patients treated in a referral center with limited resources. Methods Retrospective single center study that included >18 year-old patients with MM diagnosis, defined by IMWG criteria, treated and followed at our institution from January 2006 to December 2018. We determined the impact of patient- and myeloma-related factors on the decision of induction therapy and overall survival. Patient-related factors were: age at diagnosis, socioeconomic status (SES) according patient´s income, performance status measured by ECOG, and comorbidities at diagnosis scored by Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI). Myeloma-related factors included: ISS, Durie-Salmon (DSS), cytogenetics, response to treatment, type of induction therapy, and access to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Results A total of 245 patients were included. In our cohort 84.7% were considered of low SES (household income <180 USD/month), 29.8% had a low performance status (ECOG >2), and 89.4% had ISS ≥2. Additional baseline characteristics are presented in Figure 1. Thirty patients (12.24%) were managed only with best supportive care. Factors associated with a decreased likelihood of undergoing induction treatment included ECOG>2 (p=0.031), any comorbidity at diagnosis (p=0.028), and a CCI≥2 (p=0.002). Age ≥65 years (p=0.213), SES (p=0.287), as well as myeloma-related factors including ISS (p=0.720), DSS (p=0.699), and high-risk cytogenetics (p=0.089) had no discernible impact on this decision (Figure 2). The 215 patients that received therapy were included in the survival analysis (Figure 3). Median OS was 44.8 months. Patient-related factors for decreased survival were age≥65 years (p=0.04), and ECOG>2 (p=0.001). Myeloma-specific factors including high ISS (p=0.002), DSS-B (p=0.029), induction without novel drugs (p=0.019), no consolidation with HSCT (p=0.005), and less profound responses (p<0.001) had a negative impact on OS. On multivariate analysis: ECOG>2 (HR 1.96; CI95% 1.27 -3.04; p=0.004), DSS-B (HR 1.51; CI95% 1.03 - 2.21; p=0.04), and induction without novel drugs (HR 1.49; CI95% 1.08 - 2.06; p=0.016) were all associated with worse OS. More profound responses to therapy (HR 0.27; CI95% 0.20 - 0.37; p<0.001) showed a protective effect. Conclusion This is a study conveying outcomes in a resource-poor setting in a very low-income population with scant access to novel therapies. Interestingly, patient-related factors including performance status and CCI were useful in determining initiation of therapy, regardless of age and myeloma-related factors. Once patients underwent therapy, survival outcomes were determined by myeloma-related factors and patient's performance status. Despite not being statistically significant, possibly due to limited number of patients, high SES showed a trend towards increased access to multiple therapies and OS. These are real-world-setting results that emphasize that it is imperative to develop strategies that allow the homogenization of access to novel drugs and HSCT world-wide. Abstract:
Given the paucity of actual guidance provided for managing pediatric drug therapy, prescribing caregivers must be able to draw on the limited published information in pediatrics and/or guidance provided in adults with some account for expected pediatric response. Guidance for managing drug therapy in children is clearly desirable. Our objectives were to construct key performance indicators (KPIs) for pediatric pharmacotherapy guidance to identify drugs where pharmacotherapy guidance would be most beneficial. A pilot survey to assess variation in caregiver appreciation for pediatric dosing guidance has also been constructed to provide a complementary subjective assessment. Three KPI categories, drug utilization (based on hospital admission and billing data collected from 2001 through 2006), medical need, and guidance outcome value along with a KPI composite score have been proposed. Low scores are favored with respect to prioritization for pharmacotherapy guidance. The pilot survey consisted of 15 questions to assess 1) physician knowledge regarding dosing guidance, 2) attitudes toward dose modification and patient individualization, 3) the accessibility, ease of use and appropriateness of existing data stores, and 4) frequency of dosing modification, consultation of dosing compendiums and estimate of success rate in dosing guidance. Pilot results suggest that dosing guidance is generally viewed as important and that the existing resources are insufficient to guide recommendations for all drugs. While the majority of respondents check more than one resource less than 25% of the time, at least 25% of the respondents check more than one resource 25–50% of the time. The majority viewed the relevance of dosing guidance very important to the management of drug therapy. The questionnaire is being extended to the primary care centers, the Kids First Network and specialty care centers. Results will guide the development of decision support systems (DSS) that provide patient-specific pharmacotherapy guidance as part of our pediatric knowledgebase initiative. For the top 25 most utilized agents at our institution over the last 6 years, KPI score ranged from 35 (dexamethasone) to 77 (cefazolin and ampicillin) with an average score of 55. Prototype DSS for tacrolimus and methotrexate are strongly supported by the KPI scoring which ranks their selection in the top 5% of drugs on formulary. KPI metrics provide an objective means of ranking agents for which pediatric pharmacotherapeutic guidance is clearly needed.

Abstract:
Better terrain accessibility of military vehicle makes it possible to project force at desired points in a theatre of operation. The factors responsible for terrain accessibility are slope, obstacles and soil. Torque requirement for meeting vehicle speed and gradient requirement is understood and can be analytically arrived at. It can be met by appropriate choice of engine and transmission using. There is dearth of information as well as a common metric in quantification of terrain accessibility especially soft soil trafficability. Approach adopted in this study is that of characterisation of vehicle in terms of mobility characteristic and mobility limit parameters and comparing them with vehicle in-service worldwide. Simple empirical relation has been preferred over complex analytical approach for mobility prediction and gradient climbing capability in sand has been predicted and compared with other vehicles. parametric study for tyre sizes vis-a-vis mobility parameters have been obtained and results have been presented for chosen vehicle configuration. Second part of this study is obstacle crossing capability study for standard set of obstacles. Vehicle model has been built in multi-body environment and parameters of significance viz., wheel displacement to verify correctness of model and acceleration at CG for ride comfort and ground reactions for evaluation of dynamic loads on axles have been obtained. Vehicle drivetrain configuration to achieve desired terrain accessibility in terms of soft-soil trafficability and obstacle crossing has been demonstrated.

Abstract:

Abstract:

ABSTRACTAccessibility to buildings promotes social participation through the application of inclusive design. However, architectural frameworks for constructing accessibility ramps are based on scant scientific evidence. This article presents a statement of established standards for construction criteria for accessibility ramps and makes recommendations from the perspective of inclusive design. A literature review was performed using the databases Medline, OTseeker, PsycINFO, and CINAHL (2000 to 2013), combining keywords referring to: universal accessibility, inclusive design, accessibility ramps, biomechanics, obesity, and disabilities. Non-scientific literature was also explored (e.g. building codes). The fifty-eight articles selected were grouped under five themes: 1) ramps and users; 2) materials and climate; 3) visual reference; 4) "wayfinding"; 5) durability, aesthetics and culture. Recommendations encouraging interdisciplinary practice, pegged to inclusive design, are exhibited (e.g. tracking, tilt, contrast).

Abstract:

AbstractThe paper presents a systematic literature review investigating definitions, uses, and application of data-driven design in the concept development process. The analysis shows a predominance of the use of text mining techniques on social media and online reviews to identify customers’ needs, not exploiting the opportunity granted by the increased accessibility of IoT in cyber-physical systems. The paper argues that such a gap limits the potential of capturing tacit customers’ needs and highlights the need to proactively plan and design for a transition toward data-driven design.

Abstract:

AbstractNew advances in both neurosciences and computational approaches have changed the landscapes for smart devices design serving mobility-related disabilities. In this paper we present the integration of affordable robotics and wearable sensors through our mechatronic product platform, Sparthan, to enable accessibility of the technology in both the power prosthesis and neurorehabilitation space. Sparthan leverages 3rd party EMG sensors, Myo armband, to process muscles sensor data and translate user intention into hand movements. Key innovation includes the modularity, scalability and high degree of customization the solution affords to the target users. User-centered design approaches and mechatronic system design are detailed to demonstrate the versatility of integrative systems and design. What started off as an engineering research endeavor is also positioned to be deployed to deliver real-world impact, especially for prosthesis users in developing countries.

Abstract:
Keloid is a poorly understood fibrotic skin disease that commonly occurs during wound-healing. As a polymer composed of nucleic acid and proteins, the structure of chromatin could be dynamically regulated in the nucleus. In this study, we explored the dynamics of chromatin accessibility and the transcriptome in dermal fibroblasts (DFs) in keloid formation. Compared to normal samples, chromatin accessibility and transcriptome were extensively altered in keloid DFs. In addition, changes in chromatin accessibility were closely associated with changes in gene expression in DFs. Breast cancer type 1 (BRCA1) was significantly downregulated in keloid DFs, and its knockdown promoted the proliferation and attenuated the migration ability of normal DF cells. Mechanistically, BRCA1 suppression significantly reduced the expression of neuronal pentraxin 2 (NPTX2), a cell viability-related gene. BRCA1 binding affinity at the NPTX2 enhancer and the chromatin accessibility in the same region were significantly lower in keloid DFs than in normal DFs, which might contribute to NPTX2 inhibition. In conclusion, this study identified BRCA1 inhibition in DFs as a novel pathological factor in keloids and preliminarily explored its potential mechanisms, which will help us understand the formation of keloids.

Abstract:
The analysis of pronominal anaphora in dét. N1 de (dét.) N2 requires on the one hand a preliminary study of anaphora and of the relations supported by de, and on the other hand, an examination of referential functioning of propositional constructions. The analysis of the relations supported by de is seldom enough to determine whether the whole structure, or just a part of it, is favoured. Thus, the notion of "head" which underlies the principle of pronoun accessing and the preselective clauses must take into account the way of determining the different components of the Dét. N1 de (dét.) N2. The role of determiners is therefore essential : those introducing N2 just as well as those preceding the whole prepositional construction because they all can contribute to making the whole complex structure, or part of it, salient. Examining the distribution of the determiners does not allow us to list all the possible and impossible anaphoras ; it simply aims at building up an access and preference scale based on the notions of salience and accessibility. The identification of references requires a treatment taking many other factors into account: conceptual agreement in gender, immediate or remote contexts, argumentative structure, shared information, extra-linguistic and encyclopedic knowledge...

Abstract:
Abstract In this paper, the authors propose a framework which enables them to analyse the economic impact of new highway links between Montreal and eleven surrounding cities, specifically the impact on the economic structure of those cities. The authors observe a relationship between changes in accessibility (to Montreal) and economic structure. Greater accessibility resulting from new highway construction seems generally to favour industrial growth and diversification, although a very rapid and radical change in accessibility can also have negative consequences on the short run. The service sector appears particularly sensitive to changes in accessibility. The authors observe a cut off point of one hour's travel time: as soon as city falls within this travel-time zone its service sector (especially more the sophisticated services) systematically declines. Finally, the authors conclude that the precise nature of the impact of increased accessibility to Montreal is largely a function of the original economic structure of the city concerned: certain structures are more sensitive to changes in accessibility than others.

Abstract:
In recent years, arts festivals around the globe have become enamoured of touring, site-based performance. Such serialised site work is growing in popularity due to its accessibility, its spectacular characteristics, and its adaptive qualities. Employing practice-as-research methodologies to dissect the basis of such site-adaptive performances, the author highlights her discovery of the crumbling foundation of the adaptation discourse by way of her creative process for the performance work Room. Combining findings from the phenomenological explorations of her dancing body as well as from cultural analyses of the climate change debate by Dipesh Chakrabarty (2009), Claire Colebrook (2011, 2012), and Bruno Latour (2014), the author argues that only by fundamentally shifting the direction of the adaptation discourse – on scales from global to the personal – will we be able to build a site-adaptive performance strategy that resists the neoliberal drive towards ecological and economic precarity.
