Abstract:
Some yeasts are involved in flavour development of dry-cured meat products showing a positive impact on the generation of volatile compounds. The aim of this work was to design a method of routine analysis to evaluate the production of volatile compounds by yeasts to be selected as starter cultures. For this purpose, several variations of a minimum culture medium that included free amino acids, oleic acid, and α-ketoglutarate, incubated under similar conditions of water activity and pH as dry-cured meat products, were assayed. In these conditions, the representative yeast strains isolated from a dry-cured meat product were tested. The volatile compounds were analysed using Solid Phase Micro-Extraction and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. In the designed media, the tested yeasts produced volatile compounds involved in flavour development of dry-cured meat products. In addition, all the strains showed the highest production of these volatile compounds in the complete minimum culture medium witch included α-ketoglutarate and oleic acid.

Abstract:
Waste management is one of the criteria for the evaluation of Green campus and sustainable university. Organic waste takes place in concern because of the domination of waste in university, such as food waste and dry leaves waste. Mismanagement in dry leaves will promote the campus area to look dirty. One method to control the dry leaves waste is the vermicomposting process. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the macronutrient content of dry leaves compost after the vermicomposting process. The research was conducted in the Faculty of Civil engineering and Planning, Universitas Islam Indonesia, Yogyakarta. The vermicompost sample in this study refers to the quality standards according to SNI 19-7030-2004 regarding compost quality standards. The results of vermicompost content value are obtained on day 56 is Phosphor amounting to 0.194%, amounting to 0.129% Potassium, and C / N ratio of 7.73. From the data that has been obtained can be concluded that the results of vermicompost are less effective as organic compost compared to the standards.

Analysis of the cellular composition of the eyeball conjunctival prints and evaluation of the informative of the cytomorphological method of research in the diagnosis of dry eye syndrome (DES). Cytological examination using impression cytology was performed in 72 patients: 60 patients with DES and 12 without eye disease (control group). The main component of cytological sample in patients with DES are (a) squamous epithelium (hyperkeratocytes); (b) groups and clusters of flattened epithelial cells; (c) a small amount (up to five in the preparation) of goblet cells. Impression cytology method improves the accuracy of diagnosis of DES.

Dry sliding wear behaviours of polyamides of were investigated by Taguchi method using a pin-on-flat plate configuration. L9 orthogonal array and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were applied to investigate the influence of process parameters on wear rate. The experimental results indicated that Signal-to-Noise ratio (SNR) decreased with increasing elongation and decreased with increasing load slightly, but increased with increasing speed. ANOVA revealed that elongation at break exerted a great effect on the wear rate, which was followed by speed, respectively. Optimal process parameter was obtained for LFX type of polymer against smooth hardened steel.
