Abstract:
This article builds on the current knowledge and approach of public practice drama therapy in community settings. We argue that a public practice of drama therapy might be informed by decolonizing methods, liberation psychology, third spaces, public practice art therapy and the Art Hive model. A case vignette of Drama Hives is presented to highlight our experimentations with drama therapy as a form of public practice that might offer a more holistic approach to care that is complementary to the movement for decolonization. The article concludes with a discussion on the futurity of public practice drama therapy and its research implications.

Abstract:
This dynamic form of pedagogy attempts to cross the interdisciplinary boundaries between theatre, psychology, and modern medicine. What I attempt to present in this thesis is a systematic developmental framework for the theoretical use of drama therapy with children suffering from Autism Spectrum Disorder. This approach has been based on in-depth interdisciplinary study which makes use of the most current research looking at the neurological makeup of the autistic brain. This systematic approach examines the mirror neuron system which has been labeled as a major defect in children with ASD. Through the use of theatrical techniques such as acting, movement, voice and speech combined with modern theatre theory and clinical practice this creative approach allows for integration of imagination and self discovery. By engaging autistic children in drama therapy intervention I believe it is possible to stimulate the underdeveloped mirror neurons which cause the defects in social, emotional, and language skills. By pushing the perceived concept of theatre beyond aesthetics it is possible to expose its obligation to a healthier society.

Stefens, Andrea M. M. "(re)Birth| Using Drama Therapy for Emotionally Healing from Traumatic Pregnancy Experiences." Thesis, New York University, 2014. http://pqdtopen.proquest.com/#viewpdf?dispub=1549233.

Full text
Abstract:

Pregnancy is a short but extremely impactful time in a woman's life. When trauma occurs during the course of pregnancy the negative emotional consequences can be long-lasting. They can also be complex both for the client to understand and for the therapist to treat. This thesis explores the hypothesis that because drama therapy allows the client such tools as the safety of distancing, full use of the body, embracing of paradox, role investigation, and a way to express the emotional responses to both met and unmet societal expectations it is therefore uniquely suited to helping women who have been through traumatic pregnancies reclaim feelings of emotional well-being. A comprehensive literature review is presented which looks at the reasons why a traumatic pregnancy is such a complicated event to achieve emotional closure with, the appropriateness of drama therapy methodologies for use with this population, and the difficulties inherent in therapeutically approaching situations of ambiguous loss and difficult to define traumas. Finally, this author presents data from the writing and performing of a script exploring her personal experience as a survivor of two extremely physically traumatic pregnancies (script included herein) and documenting how drama therapy advanced her process towards healing.

Abstract:
Successful opera art cannot be separated from literary elements, but also from the support of music. Opera scripts make up plots with words. Compared with emotional resonance directly from the senses, music can plasticize the abstract literary image from the perspective of sensibility. An excellent opera work can effectively promote the development of the drama plot through music design, and deepen the conflict of drama with the "ingenious leverage" of music. This article intends to analyze the music design of the famous opera, Mefistofele, and try to explore the fusion effect of music and drama, and its role in promoting the plot. After its birth at the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century, western opera art quickly received widespread attention and affection. The reason for its success is mainly due to its fusion of the essence of classical music and drama literature. Because of this, there have always been debates about the importance of music and drama in the long history of opera art development. In the book Opera as Drama, Joseph Kerman, a well-known contemporary musicologist, firmly believes that "opera is first and foremost a drama to show conflicts, emotions and thoughts among people through actions and events. In this process, music assumes the most important performance responsibilities."[1] Objectively speaking, these two elements with very different external forms and internal structures play an indispensable role in opera art. A classic opera is inseparable from the organic integration of music and drama, otherwise it will be difficult to meet the aesthetic experience expected by the audience. On the stage, it is necessary to present wonderful audio-visual enjoyment, and at the same time to pursue thematic expressions with deep thoughts, but the expression of emotions in music creation must be reflected through its independent specific language rather than separated from its own consciousness. Only through the superb expression of music can conflicts, thoughts and emotions be fully reflected, or it may be reduced to empty preaching. Joseph Kerman once pointed out that "the true meaning of opera is to carry drama with music". He believes that opera expresses thoughts and emotions through many factors such as scenes, actions, characters, plots and so on. However, the carrier of these elements lies in music. Only under the guidance and support of music can the characters, thoughts and emotions of the drama be truly portrayed. Indeed, opera scripts fictional plots with words, and music presents abstract literary image specifically and recreationally, allowing more potentially complex emotions that are difficult to express in words to be perceived by the audience in the flow of notes, thereby resonate with people.[2] Mefistofele, which this article intends to explore, is such an opera that is extremely exemplary in the organic integration of music and drama.

In 13th International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE 2022). AHFE International, 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.54941/ahfe1002555.

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to clarify how creativity is produced in filmmaking from a relational perspective. Creativity here refers to the fact that films that contain original ideas and evoke sympathy in the audience are not produced solely through the internal mechanisms of individuals, but rather as a result of the collective actions and activities of various people. In recent years, movies have moved beyond the confines of theaters, and infrastructures such as Amazon Prime and Netflix are rapidly expanding. Against this backdrop, independent Japanese films have been receiving high acclaim overseas. The so-called independent films are not films that come out with huge budgets and a fixed release destination like the major film systems, but films that are planned and produced by the filmmakers themselves without any financial resources. Independent films can have an impact on people despite the risk of completion and release, but their reputation is focused on the director and producer. For this reason, the relationship between actors other than the director and producer in filmmaking is not fully clarified.Filmmaking is a multi-layered and contingent creativity that is created through the long-term interaction of not only the director, producer, and cast, but also various other actors such as equipment, script, and location. While independent films allow for a greater degree of freedom in planning, they are also subject to complexities and volatility, such as difficulties in obtaining financing and differences in the image of the film among the staff, which can prevent the project from proceeding as planned at the outset. The subject of the study is Parkinson's disease (PD) patients and movies about it. PD is an intractable disease for which there is currently no curative treatment, and which causes progressive symptoms such as tremors in the limbs and stiffness in the muscles that interfere with daily life. In order to control the progression of the disease, it is said that regular exercise therapy and rehabilitation are essential, along with daily medication. The film will be produced with the cooperation of the PD Patients Association, which has 8,000 members, and will consist of two parts: a drama about the life of the main character who was diagnosed with PD in his 40s, and a documentary about several PD patients in their 30s to 60s. The research was conducted by one of the authors (a filmmaker) using ethnography: from December 2020 to November 2021, he conducted participant observation of the relationships between the actors involved in the project and the living conditions of the PD parties, and interviewed them. Based on these observations, we conducted a series of interviews. The PD parties who would become the informants and the filmmakers had numerous dialogues. As a result, their social and living environments were unraveled.

Abstract:
Abstract A common failure signature in dynamic random access memories (DRAMs) is the single cell failure. The charge is lost and thereby the information stored in trench capacitors can be destroyed by high resistive leakage paths. The nature of the leakage path determines the properties of the failure such as temperature-, voltage- and timing-dependencies and its stability. In this study, high resistive leakage paths were investigated and delimited from classical shorts by estimating the order of magnitude of the leakage current and by comparison to a simple resistive leakage path. Such an investigation is the basis for a defect-based test approach that leads to multiparameter tests [1]. An introduction to the problem is given in the first section, while the second section deals with the characterization of the defects in two case studies. A short summary is given in the end.

Full text
Abstract:
"Retrieval practice can exacerbate eyewitness’ susceptibility to subsequent misinformation and then produces more false memories is known as Retrieval-Enhanced Suggestibility (RES). In the field of judicial psychology, eyewitness testimony plays a crucial role, and even directly affects the judgment of the suspect. The eyewitnesses may be interfered with by other irrelevant information or repeated inquiries by the police, thus causing misinformation interference from the original information. In all three experiments, this study uses pictures of Chinese criminal investigation dramas as experimental materials. This study examines the mechanism of RES effect by manipulating the feedback from retrieval and warning. The results show that: (1) There is still a significant RES effect on the Chinese context; (2) Both feedback and warning play an important role in the generation of RES. Among them, the feedback enhanced the participant’ memory of the original information and reduced the credibility of misinformation. Thus, the RES effect is reduced; (3) Warnings reduce the credibility of all narrative information, thereby reducing the RES effect. In short, both feedback and warning can reduce the RES effect, but the effect of feedback is more positive and precise."
