Abstract:
W konsekwencji powoduje to zubożenie jej zasobów i upadek organizmów państwowych.

Abstract:
This paper discusses two contemporary novels from a narratological perspective. The Unfortunates by B.S. Johnson and S. by J.J. Abrams and Doug Dorst demonstrate inapplicability of narrative most commonly theorised as a representation of events. Instead, due to their unconventional usage of typography, multimodality and/or transmediality, they provoke daring attempts at reconceptualisations of this fundamental concept of modern narrative theory and novel studies. In addition, the two novels exemplify an increasingly common trend in contemporary fiction of undermining the traditional understanding of the novel as a monomodal (exclusively verbal) work and selfcontained, printed entity

This paper explores the creation of an innovative clothing rental service, that is inspired by the ‘slow fashion movement’, and that focuses on the question: “are people willing to use second-hand clothing and/or leased when travelling?”. This is a rental service for the day-to-day and also business clothing. The creation and development of this service was possible through the use of a design thinking methodology: the 9 steps framework by Kees Dorst. Regarding its validation, it was achieved with a questionnaire with 430 responses. The paper culminates with the positive response to the problem.

Abstract:
Abstract Based on a line of inquiry initiated by Dorst, this article explores Foucault's work as a philosophical inspiration for design research and practice. In terms of foucaultian problematization, notions of discourse and problematization— instead of notions of design problems— is an alternative way of dealing with design situations. It is argued that through the problematization of the discourses interwoven in a design project, the designer takes on a critical and political dimension of their own work. In this way, through the project, designers can have the option to critically choose between reinforcing discourses— in case of agreement with them, or subverting discourses— in case of disagreement.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Nowadays, all PM part manufacturers are subjected to the huge pressure to reduce prices and minimize cost. Apart from the maximum utilization of the machines in multi-shift operation, the manufacturers have to select the optimum machinery in terms of pressing technology. Flat parts, for instance, are produced on mechanical high-speed presses with very high economic efficiency. Here high stroke rates that can be achieved are the focal point. Multi-level complicated components are produced on multiplaten presses providing hydraulic auxiliary movements. Both mechanical automatic presses with modular multiplaten die sets and hydraulic presses with closed-loop controlled movements, equipped with position sensors, are suitable for this application. The geometrical complexity, the requested dimensional tolerances and the density are of decisive influence of the machine to be selected. The sizing is process is carried out on machines providing optical part recognition and automatic part handling. For this wide variety of different applications DORST Technologies can offer customized plants to suit the requirements. To gain maximum economic efficiency, all machines – powder compacting presses or automatic sizing presses – are available with handling systems such as die set change systems, or linkage of the press with the furnace.

Two brief biodiversity surveys were conducted near Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, in May 2014 and February 2016, and to the Day Forest (Forêt du Day) in February 2016. Our complete avian checklist of 143 species, with 96 species preserved as museum specimens is presented here. We document nesting for Spur-winged Lapwing Vanellus spinosus (Linnaeus, 1758), the occurrence of Crimson-rumped Waxbill Estrilda rhodopyga Sundevall, 1850, and confirm Little Tern Sternula albifrons (Pallas, 1764) in Djibouti. We comment on observations for the Critically Endangered Djibouti Spurfowl Pternistis ochropectus (Dorst & Jouanin 1952), and the Endangered Egyptian Vulture Neophron percnopterus (Linnaeus, 1758), and a previously noted Fringillidae (Crithagra sp.) Swainson, 1827 from the Day Forest. Hybridization between Somali Sparrow Passer castanopterus Blythi,1885 and House Sparrow Passer domesticus (Linnaeus, 1758) is documented with voucher specimens. Although these surveys and taxa lists represent brief inventories for the areas visited, they provide a foundation and reference for future work in this understudied region in the Horn of Africa.

Abstract:

Abstract:
As one of the key components in design discipline, Design Thinking has regained its popularity in the last decade (Dunne & Martin, 2006; Cooper, Junginger & Lockwood, 2009; Kimbell, 2011). However, this did not occur in design schools or in design professions; rather, it occurred in other disciplines—like business. Some business schools and business organizations consider Design Thinking an effective method or process to generate innovative solutions for resolving complex or wicked problems (Davis, 2010; Dorst, 2011; Glen, Suciu & Baughn, 2014). Whether they be for-profit or non-profit, many organizations also use the Design Thinking process when making strategic decisions or solving problems. In order to solve a problem in an efficient and effective manner, traditional thinking and cognitive studies suggest the prevailing way to solve a problem is to follow an orderly and linear process that work from the problem to the solution. The logic starts by understanding the problem through analyzing the problem situation. After identifying the definition of the problem, one can formulates some possible solutions. The optional solutions are evaluated and the best will be chosen to implement and transform the situation to the specific goal.

Abstract:
The subject of this article is counterfactual thinking as a tool in geneticist-patient communication under conditions of uncertainty. The article focuses on the use of the counterfactual narrative as one of the main components of doctor-patient communication in the framework of making decisions about future treatment. The conditions for the use of the counterfactual narrative are considered, taking into consideration two features: the logic of predetermination and the influence of overpersonal forces and notions of kinship that contribute to the deindividualization of the patient. Based on A.S. Karpenko's formulation of the concept of possibility, a heuristic approach to sketching possible scenarios for treatment during genetic counseling is outlined. The novelty of the study lies in the analysis of the problem of self-future identity, constructed by the patient in the counterfactual narrative. This problem is examined using two thought experiments. The first thought experiment (concerning the fate of the unborn child - D. Bunin) reveals the identity problem itself. The second (concerning non-derministic behavior of a flipped coin - C. Dorst) shows how this problem is disclosed under conditions of uncertainty. It is shown that in creating possible scenarios of disease and its treatment with counterfactuals it is important to take into account "necessary properties" (U. Eco) of the patient, focusing on qualitative, not numerical identity. In the last section of the article this conclusion is justified in the light of the concept of narrative identity, through which the counterfactual can be revealed.

Abstract:
LoinMax (LM-QTL) increases M. longissimus dorsi (MLD) area and weight by 11% and 8% respectively (Nicoll et al., 1998). It was found to segregate in Australian Poll Dorset sheep (Banks, 1997) and has been mapped to chromosome 18 (Nicoll et al., 1998). The UK sheep industry may benefit from using LM-QTL to increase yield of the highly priced loin region. However, before being utilised, the effects of LM-QTL need to be verified in a genetic background typical to the stratified structure of the UK sheep industry.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Disease symptoms including leaf chlorotic and necrotic spots and stripes resembling freesia leaf necrosis (disease of unknown etiology [2]) were observed in freesia (Freesia × hybrida Klatt.) plants (cvs. Aladyn, Blue Lady, Cortine, Gompy, and White Rapid) naturally infected with Freesia mosaic virus (FMV) and grown in the greenhouse in Poland. The aim of this work was to study the association of the leaf symptoms occurring in freesia cultivars with phytoplasma infection and to identify it. To detect the possible presence of phytoplasmas in freesias, plants showing leaf symptoms (five cultivars) and symptomless plants (‘Blue Lady’, ‘Cortine’, and ‘Gompy’) were assayed for the presence of phytoplasma 16S rDNA fragment by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). For phytoplasma detection samples of young leaves and corms of 15 symptomatic and five symptomless freesias were taken. The samples were collected from the selected plants infected with FMV. In addition, leaf samples from healthy Catharanthus roseus plants and those infected with AKV reference strain of aster yellows (AY) phytoplasma group, subgroup I-B (supplied by W. Jarausch, INRA Bordeaux, France), were included for comparison. The amplification was performed using the universal—rA/fA or R16F1/R0 and group specific—R16(I)F1/R1 phytoplasma primer pairs (1). Phytoplasma identification was accompanied by digestion with AluI and MseI restriction endonucleases and restriction length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis of the R(I)F1/R1 or rA/fA products. DNA amplification product was observed in all nested PCRs containing template DNA derived from the leaves and corms of all symptomatic as well as symptomless and FMV-affected freesias except symptomless freesia ‘Cortine’. Based on RFLP analysis of PCR products and the comparison of the RFLP patterns with those of the strain AKV of aster yellows phytoplasma group (AY I-B), the associated phytoplasmas were identified as phytoplasma 16S rRNA group I, subgroup B. This work provides the first evidence that freesias examined were naturally infected with aster yellows phytoplasma. Detection of phytoplasma in diseased and symptomless but FMV-affected freesias underlines the need to know the role of this pathogen in the etiology of freesia diseases. References: (1) I.-M. Abstract:
In order to investigate the virus infection rate of commercial freesia cultivars in early February 2013, 19 freesia cultivars showing necrotic purple speckles or streaks on leaves, purple streaks parallel to the midrib, and necrotic speckles on leaves were collected from three different regions (Suwon and Icheon in Gyeonggi Province and Jeonju in North Jeonla Province) and used for virus detection. Nucleic acid extracts were analyzed for detection of major freesia-infecting viruses including Freesia sneak virus (FreSV) by reverse transcription (RT)-PCR with specific primer pairs. The FreSV CP gene was amplified using primer pair FreSV-F (5′-TTAGATAGTGAATCCATAAGCTGC-3′) and FreSV-R (5′-ATGTCTGGAAAATACTCCGTCCAA-3′). The approximately 1.3-kb fragment of the FreSV amplified product was cloned and sequenced (GenBank Accession No. KC771891 to 98). The nucleotide sequences of CP gene of FreSV korean isolates showed 99.2 to 99.8% similarity to other FreSV isolates DQ885455, FJ807730, and GU071089, which are registered in GenBank. FreSV was detected from 71.7% of 138 plants tested while the infection rate of Freesia mosaic virus (FreMV) was 34.8%. Neither Bean yellow mosaic virus (BYMV) nor Tobacco rattle virus (TRV) were detected from any plants tested in this study. In certain cultivars, such as ‘Bluebau’ (II) and ‘Pretty women,’ most plants planted in the field showed purple streak symptoms on the leaves. In conclusion, FreSV was detected from some symptomatic freesia cultivars showing purple streak or speckles on leaves with or without necrotic spots and necrotic speckles on leaves. FreSV is currently widespread in Korea and some freesia plants were mixed infected with FreMV. FreSV has been occurring in the Netherlands for over 40 years (2). It is a plant virus in the family Ophioviridae and Ophiovirus genus. Once it occurs in freesia plantation fields, eradication is almost impossible because FreSV is transmitted by zoospores of Olpidium brassicae, which is a soilborne root-infecting fungus (3). Resting spores of O. brassicae can remain dormant in the soil and can be infective for 20 years (1). To produce virus-free freesia plants, growers should consider whether or not their fields are contaminated with O. brassicae carrying FreSV. To our knowledge, this is the first report of FreSV in freesia plants in Korea. References: (1) R. N. Campbell. Can. J. Bot. 63:2288, 1985. (2) Y. Koot et al. Abstract:
The effect of different genotypes kept in the same feeding level on microstructure and chemical composition of muscular tissue (musculus longissimus dorsi) of sheep has studied. The study aims to see how the gene combination of different breeds influences the mentioned problem. It was revealed that sheep muscular tissue obtained by crossing the North-Caucasian breeds (NC) and Texel (T) was characterized by a larger quantity of muscular fibres by 4.73 % and 10.14% (P<0.05), and a smaller diameter by 5.65 % and 18.6% (P< 0.05), a higher evaluation of marbling by 5.2 and 8.3 points, less connective tissue content by 0.8 and 1.3 absolute percentage compared to thoroughbred North-Caucasian and from crossing North-Caucasian with Poll Dorset (PD). It showed that meat obtained from crossing animals of the T?NC variant is more delicate, succulent, and has a total higher quality and consumer properties. The results of different crossing indicate the reasonability to use morphological characteristics of muscular tissue on the histological level when the quality of sheep slaughtering performance had evaluated.
