Abstract:
By innovatively combining insights from research on cultural consumption, socialization and nationalism, this study is one of the first empirical studies to shed more light on role of parental socialization in domestic and foreign cultural consumption of films, books and music. Similar to previous studies on parental socialization of highbrow and lowbrow cultural consumption, parents’ cultural socialization when respondents were in their formative years (i.e. parental domestic cultural consumption) is relevant for respondents’ domestic and foreign cultural consumption later in life. Parents’ national behaviour during their children’s formative years is related to the respondents’ positive nationalist attitudes, which, in turn, is associated with respondents’ domestic film and music consumption. Parental socialization plays a less important role in domestic book consumption, indicating that in less diverse cultural markets, other socialization influences (such as school) might be playing a role as well. Adding to the debate on the influence of parental socialization over the life course, we found indications that the effects of parental socialization on domestic consumption were weaker for older compared to younger people. This suggests the importance of parental socialization and the varying ways in which it is associated with domestic cultural consumption.

Abstract:
Throughout their evolutionary history, humans have tried to domesticate a variety of wild terrestrial mammals, resulting in a limited number that has been successfully domesticated. Among these domesticated species, domestic goats (Capra aegagrus hircus) are a useful model species to study the effects of ontogenesis on the socio-cognitive abilities of domestic non-companion animals in their interactions with humans. To this end, the behavioral responses of two groups of goats with a different background of human socialization (high and low socialization) were compared in the impossible task test, an experimental paradigm aimed to study socio-cognitive skills and the tendency to interact with humans. Our results show that, when the task became impossible to solve, goats with a higher level of socialization interacted with the experimenter for a greater amount of time than subjects in the low socialization group, whereas the latter group exhibited increased door directed behavior. Overall, highly socialized goats made more social contact with humans compared to the other group in the impossible task paradigm.

Abstract:
Hegemons exercise power in the international system not only by manipulating material incentives but also by altering the substantive beliefs of elites in other nations. Socialization—the process through which leaders in these secondary states embrace a set of normative ideals articulated by the hegemon—plays an important role both in establishing an international order and in facilitating the functioning of that order. This article develops the notion of socialization in the international system and examines three hypotheses about the conditions under which it occurs and can function effectively as a source of power. The first hypothesis is that socialization occurs primarily after wars and political crises, periods marked by international turmoil and restructuring as well as by the fragmentation of ruling coalitions and legitimacy crises at the domestic level. The second is that elite (as opposed to mass) receptivity to the norms articulated by the hegemon is essential to the socialization process. The third hypothesis is that when socialization does occur, it comes about primarily in the wake of the coercive exercise of power. Material inducement triggers the socialization process, but socialization nevertheless leads to outcomes that are not explicable simply in terms of the manipulation of material incentives. These hypotheses are explored in the historical case studies of U.S. diplomacy after World Wars I and II and the British colonial experience in India and Egypt.

Abstract:
Liberal systemic theory is built on the assumption that the system’s dominant configuration is a Kantian confederation of major powers. In addition to being a democratic cluster, the liberal core is also a capitalist club. This article pushes systemic and socialization theory forward by introducing the mechanism of economic competition as an important driver of socialization. The article develops a theory of system-level competition, arguing that it is a distinct and co-equal mechanism of socialization to the established mechanisms of persuasion, inducement, and coercion. The article proposes a three-staged model of socialization that explains how prominent rising powers such as Turkey, India, Brazil, and China are being socialized into the liberal system. At the first phase, competitive pressure, outsiders are led to orient themselves toward the core out of a fear of falling behind and a desire to access network benefits. At the second phase, rushing, outsiders behave in pro-norm ways and make significant concessions in order to gain inclusion in the core’s institutional complex. At the third phase, internalization, external norms become embedded in domestic legal institutional structures and a robust pro-norm domestic coalition emerges. The article uses the case of China to illustrate the model and lend it some initial empirical support in one hard case.

Abstract:
This is a study of learning and socialization in China’s foreign security policy, examining how China has at times been more assertive and in other instances has taken a more accommodating approach in its foreign security policy behavior. This paper argues that China has been “socialized” by its international security environment by exploring Kenneth Waltz’s theoretical mechanism of the “socialization” of states in the international system. The 1995–1996 Taiwan Strait Crisis and the early 2000s, the Senkaku/Diaoyutai crises from 2012 to 2015, and the South China Sea in the mid-1990s are all instances in which China has employed force only to suffer strategically. This has eventually led to a less confrontational posture and contributed to the pursuit of a more cooperative engagement strategy with both Southeast Asia (from 1998 to 2008) and Taiwan ([Formula: see text]2006–2016). Variations in China’s assertiveness can be explained by the combination of domestic politics and signals from China’s international security environment.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the consideration of one of the defining trends in the world and domestic economy of the third millennium — socialization. Its inevitability is caused by the fact that one of the main challenges hindering the establishment of the ideals of humanism in today’s globalized and supercivilized society is the problem of growing social inequality. This issue is acute for the former post-Soviet states, including Ukraine. It is stated that the formation of socially-oriented economies should be grounded on both the ideological principles of humanism (for example, social piety and sacrifice of business) and the socialized economic component. It is fulfilled by the economic relations based on the consensus of interests of social groups with different levels of income and wealth and different in their functional purpose of social institutions. It is proposed to consider such relations as a socio-economic partnership. The key features of socio-economic partnership are highlighted. It is argued that in modern conditions it is not enough to consider the socialization of the economy only as the establishment of the ideals of social partnership (social dialogue) between employer and employee. It is pointed out that the experience of developed countries with a high level of public assessment of the state execution of its socio-economic functions allows to identify at least two other important areas of socialization of the domestic economy: public-private partnership and implementation of advantages of the socially-oriented economy model (Scandinavian socialism). A brief description of these areas is given.Attention is paid to a set of objective preconditions that determine the need for socially-oriented evolution of the modern economy. The range of subjects of socio-economic partnership in Ukraine is highlighted. The characteristic of the existing in Ukraine normative-legal basis for realization of the recommended directions of socialization of the domestic economy is given. Normative innovations to the legislation of Ukraine on social partnership and public-private partnership are offered, the main branches of legislation that need to be reformed in order to establish the ideals of the model of socially-oriented economy in domestic practice are named.

Abstract:
The problems of an individual’s socialization have always been relevant, but in the conditions of deep transformation of social institutions of the Russian society, they have become particularly acute and important. The radical nature of the reforms have determined the features of the social state, which consist in the formation of a fundamentally new social reality. The transition to a market economy and consumer society has led to a radical change in the world outlook, values, and value orientations of the population. In these conditions, new approaches to the socialization of the individual, the formation of qualities, and value orientations corresponding to the market society are necessary. The purpose of the article lies in determining the initial principles of human socialization in the changed Russian society based on the analysis of existing approaches in scientific knowledge. For this purpose, the authors have employed the methods of analysis and comparison of existing concepts of socialization. This article presents an analysis of socialization theories of domestic and foreign researchers, analysis of economic and socio-cultural factors in the formation of a new system of values and value orientations in Russian society. The scientific novelty of the article consists in the proposal to consider a balanced combination of individualism and collectivism as the initial principles of personal socialization in the process of forming new values and value orientations of individuals, as well as to consider the socialization of the individual in relation to the socialization of economic relations. The choice of a balanced and harmonious combination of individualism and collectivism as a guideline for the socialization of the individual in the transformed Russian society allows us to build a new system of socialization. This requires new methods of socialization of the individual, new ideological and value content of the social space.

Actuality. With the emergence and rapid spread of the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, unprecedented measures have been taken to combat the pandemic, which in many countries, including Ukraine, has led to severe restrictions with the transition of all levels to distance learning. The aim of the work is to study and compare the main indicators of social and psychological adaptation of domestic and foreign students to study under distance education during quarantine.Material and methods. The study of the main indicators of personal adaptation of 3rd-year students of medical faculties of BSMU during distance learning under quarantine conditions was conducted. The indicators were studied by surveying domestic and foreign students using Google Forms and Google Meet videoconferencing. The survey was conducted anonymously, under the same conditions, and to create a questionnaire in Google Forms used an adapted version of the questionnaire BOO "Adaptability" in Ukrainian and English, which is designed to assess the adaptive capacity of man. Results. According to the results of the survey, during distance learning, the level of neuropsychological stability of domestic students was probably higher than that of foreign citizens. Foreign students had a socialization rate 1.5 times lower than Ukrainian students did, and the vast majority of domestic students had a sufficient level of socialization. Communicative abilities of domestic students compared to foreign students were also significantly higher, but both Ukrainian and foreign students during quarantine and distance learning show almost no signs of behavioral disorders. In general, both domestic and foreign students during distance learning in quarantine have a low level of adaptation, and its success depends on external conditions (distance and isolation).Conclusion. Under the conditions of quarantine, students of medical faculties of BSMU, both domestic and foreign are characterized by a rather low level of socio-psychological adaptation to distance learning.

Abstract:
In the late 20-th – early 21-st centuries in society under the influence of globalization and informatization there were dramatic changes in the field of sexual values of domestic youth: pluralism and tolerance in relation to sexual life; autonomization of adolescent and youthful sexuality from external forms of control; commercialization of sex (prostitution, pornography, eroticization of advertising, etc.); rehabilitation of unproductive forms of sexuality; legalization of same-sex love; etc. There was a need to radically improve the theoretical and practical solution to the problems of sexual socialization. The first step towards the implementation of this goal was the adoption by the European Union in 2010 of the “Standards of Sexual Education in Europe”, which marked the beginning of the creation of a regulatory framework for sexual socialization of pupils and was to promote a holistic system of sexual education and provide children and young people with objective, scientifically reliable information about all aspects of sexuality. The aim of the article: Based on the analysis of “Standards of Sexual Education in Europe” to prove the need and relevance of the introduction in educational institutions of Ukraine sexual socialization of the school children, to indicate the main steps in the implementation of the best foreign experience in light of the recommendations of this document. The article points out the Standards’ emphasis on the mistakes of traditional sexual socialization, which tried to misgive the youth associative relationship between sex and danger, focusing on the potential risks of sexuality. The article on a large array of research material shows the low level of sexual education and sexual culture of Ukrainian schoolchildren, noted factors that hinder the introduction of sexual education courses recommended by WHO for all European countries. The article on the experience of educational systems of the European Union emphasizes the positive aspects of the introduction of systematic courses of sexual education into the domestic education system. A detailed study of the “Standards of Sexual Education in Europe” and the study of the staging of sexual socialization in foreign countries gave the authors the opportunity to justify the need to use a number of elements of foreign experience in Ukraine. The article defines criteria for assessing the successful implementation of sexual socialization: sexual issues are considered and discussed openly as a positive, integrative part of health; sexual education programs must be adapted to the specific needs and realities of the respective country; there is state support for measures on sexual socialization; sexual socialization takes into account the gender aspect; mandatory linkage of sexual socialization to premarital training of schoolchildren and responsible parenthood; partnership of schools and families, government and non-governmental organizations, various consulting centers in solving the problems of sexual socialization of schoolchildren, etc.

Abstract:
The existence of Indonesia as a country with the largest number of Muslim societies in the world is an allure for foreign producers, coupled with the preference of people who are relatively more interested in imported products resulting in Indonesia's domestic market being flooded with imported products. This condition is a bit dangerous for Muslim consumers when it is associated with the lack of halal awareness in Indonesian society, so that the activities of community awareness are needed, one of which is in the form of socialization activities. This article aims to evaluate the socialization activities carried out among Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic Senior High School) students in Rancaekek Bandung. The socialization activities are carried out using the seminar method in the form of lectures with questions and answers and simulation methods in the form of simulation exercises. Meanwhile, the evaluation of the socialization activities was carried out by conducting pre-test and post-test with the help of IBM SPSS version 21 to measure the effect of socialization on the knowledge of the students of Madrasah Aliyah Persis 24 Rancaekek related to the halal of imported products. From the test results obtained, it can be concluded that the socialization activities carried out succeeded in increasing the knowledge of the students of Madrasah Aliyah Persis Rancaekek regarding the importance of the halal status of imported products circulating in the community.

The Paris Agreement made a breakthrough amid the deadlock in climate negotiations, yet concerns are raised regarding how much impact the new voluntary climate regime can make. This paper investigates the socialization mechanism that the Paris Agreement sets up and explores the prospects of “institutional transformation” for it to make a dent. It examines the factors that can facilitate voluntary climate action by using the cases of the most recalcitrant emitters, the United States and China. It argues that the US and China cases suggest that the socialization from the bottom-up by domestic actors may be one of the critical elements that determine states’ position on climate change.

The implementation of the ASEAN-MRA TP encourages Indonesian workers to obtain certification as proof of competence. However, the Indonesian tourism professional workforce rate is low, compared to the total tourism workforce in general. The culture of personal networking that deeply rooted in the tourism workforce is hampering Indonesian effort in implementing the ASEAN-MRA TP certification norm. By using Cortell A.P and Davis J's theory of domestic salience, this study aims to analyze the government's efforts to internalize the ASEAN-MRA TP certification norms to the domestic level, with the challenges of existing domestic cultures. There are 4 strategic actions taken, domestic institution, domestic interest, rhetoric and socialization forces.

Abstract:
We study a variant of the mixed oligopoly model with conjectural variations equilibrium, in which one of the producers maximizes not his net profit but the convex combination of the latter with the domestic social surplus. The coefficient of this convex combination is named socialization level. The producers’ conjectures concern the price variations depending upon their production output variations. In this work, we extend the models studied before, considering the case of the producers’ cost functions being convex but not necessarily quadratic. The notion of exterior and interior equilibrium is introduced (similarly to previous works), developing a consistency criterion for the conjectures. Existence and uniqueness theorems are formulated and proven. Results concerning the comparison between conjectural variations, perfect competition, and Cournot equilibriums are provided. Based on these results, we formulate an optimality criterion for the election of the socialization level. The existence of the optimal socialization level is proven under the condition that the public company cannot be too weak as compared to the private firms.

INCREASING OF HOUSEWIVES POTENTIAL IN PROCESSING DOMESTIC ORGANIC WASTE BY USING TAKAKURA METHOD IN CIBIRU WETAN VILLAGE, BANDUNG REGENCY. Domestic waste (DW) is a major environmental challenge for many urban local bodies in Indonesia both in the village and in the city, where urbanization, industrialization and economic growth have resulted in increased waste generation per person. One way to solve this waste is to turn organic domestic into compost. Composting, the recycling of organic waste such as vegetation and food waste reduces the amount of waste going to landfill and is, therefore, a rapidly growing sector. Desa Cibiru Wetan, Kab. Bandung, West Java is one of the villages that has learned about how to process organic waste into compost and become a pilot project but because of the distance between raw materials and management with compost incubator so that compost production is disturbed. Therefore, the purpose of the project activity was to produce compost from domestic organic waste by the Takakura method. In this method, a small incubator was used and placed at the home of the community. Although on a small scale but with many multipliers, it able to produce an abundant compost and can be an alternative for the existing compost incubator method. The stage included counseling and socialization, training in making incubator Takakura, training in production compos,t and monitoring and evaluation. The results showed a good understanding of both groups for both the socialization and counseling stages as well as for the practice of production of compost. In conclusion, the activity on the production of compost by using Takakura method able was to solved for domestic organic waste and remind set the interest of the community in producing compost.

Abstract:
AbstractBetween 1820 and 1870, middle-class Americans became convinced of the role nonhuman animals could play in socializing children. Companion animals in and around the household were the medium for training children into self-consciousness about, and abhorrence of, causing pain to other creatures including, ultimately, other people. In an age where the formation of character was perceived as an act of conscious choice and self-control, middle-class Americans understood cruelty to animals as a problem both of individual or familial deficiency and of good and evil. Training children to be self-conscious about kindness became an important task of parenting. Domestic advisors also argued that learning kindness was critical for boys who were developmentally prone to cruelty and whose youthful cruelty had implications both for the future of family life and for the body politic. The practice of pet keeping, where children became stewards of companion animals who were then able to teach young humans such virtues as gratitude and fidelity, became a socially meaningful act.

Abstract:
External actors engaged in peace building often induce domestic elites to share power. This article explores the effectiveness of external incentives in establishing, maintaining or reforming power-sharing. Adopting a rationalist approach to socialization, the research investigates the strategic interaction between external and internal actors in two cases of contemporary power-sharing: Northern Ireland and Bosnia-Herzegovina. External incentives will probably be more effective when they uphold a peace agreement that satisfies groups’ structural preferences on constitutional issues. External incentives can, under certain conditions, lead to internalization and the potential ‘habitualization’ of power-sharing as norm-conforming behaviour. The strategy of external actors will be less effective when their socialization efforts are inconsistent and coercive, viewed as threatening to one or more of the contending groups.

Abstract The legal socialization framework expounds individual attitudes towards authority. The current study tested whether the attitudes of Brazilian adolescents towards social authorities (parents and teachers) explain later attitudes towards legal authority (the police). Data were obtained from three waves of a longitudinal study of Brazilian youth in São Paulo (ages 11–13; 50 per cent female) between 2016 and 2018. The time-ordered data are uniquely capable of testing the legal socialization framework as adolescent social spheres expand beyond the domestic domain. The findings of the structural equation models support the claim that attitudes towards social authorities explain later attitudes towards legal authority. The findings also paint a more complicated and nuanced picture of how spheres of authority are related.

Abstract:
Using data from the International Dating Violence Study, this study examined the roles of early socialization, family social structure, and relationship dynamics factors on physical aggression in dating among U.S. college students in emerging adulthood. The interaction effects between these three domains of interest (early socialization, family social structure, and relationship dynamics) were explored to understand the underlying mechanisms that influenced victimization and perpetration in dating. In general, we found that family and relational variables associated with dating victimization and perpetration were fairly similar. Among the early socialization variables, experience of childhood neglect and having witnessed domestic violence were significantly related to victimization and perpetration. Living in a two-parent household appeared to exert a protective effect, although associations with parental education were not statistically significant. Furthermore, the participants were more likely to experience victimization or impose aggression in dating relationships which were characterized by conflicts, distress, dominance, or psychological aggression. Overall, for the participants who came from a two-parent household, dominance in dating was linked to less violence. When the participants faced higher levels of psychological aggression, adverse early socialization factors were associated with higher levels of dating violence victimization and perpetration. Research and practice implications were discussed.

Abstract:
Rural tourism in India is increasingly becoming competitive. Customers expect better services and unique experiences. It is therefore essential for the service providers to better understand the expectations of the visitors and carefully match their offers. Segmentation and targeting of the market are accepted principles of business and there has been a lot of research on the basis of segmentation. The primary objective of this article is to identify the profile of the different clusters (popularly known as segments) of motivations of tourists traveling within rural India. The intention is to decipher the causative clusters, which influences the tourists to visit the rural areas. These variables are used to identify the various rural domestic tourist market segments. A self-administered instrument was used to collect the data. Four factors have been identified through exploratory factor analysis: socialization, escape, rural experience, and self-indulgence. After identifying factors, K-means clustering was used to segment the market. The researchers have identified two relevant segments of domestic rural tourists. These are family retreaters and rural escapists. The study advances the understanding of the Indian domestic rural tourism market. It will help policymakers and practitioners to design products and marketing programs matching the expectations of these targeted markets.

Abstract:
The first type of tourism was essentially domestic. However, tourist activities have become a major trend lately, particularly in some locations. According to UNWTO (2016), domestic tourism involves an estimated volume of 5 to 6 billion tourists across the whole world. As a result, some destinations consider it imperative to promote and develop domestic tourism, since it represents an important input to local and national economy. Notwithstanding these facts, most actions taken and research conducted focus on international tourists. An empirical study involving 622 domestic tourists reveals that the main cognitive destination image dimensions are Simplicity and Authenticity, Good Environment, Relaxation and Socialization, Good Infrastructures, Nostalgia and History and Culture. Regarding the affective attributes, most tourists in the sample have strong positive feelings regarding the visited destination. In addition, results prove that those tourists’ generational differences influence the way they build the cognitive and affective images of a certain destination. The discussion focuses on the kind of implications tourism destinations may have for Management and Marketing.

Abstract:
Introduction:the article deals with the main components of socialization and individualization of primary school children. Modern socio-cultural society sets the vector of the updated educational policy. It is not enough for a person to increase only intellectual development, it is necessary to pay attention to the education of a thinking, interacting, responsible person who can make decisions, self-develop and independently control the achievement of goals. Therefore, the normative documents, supporting the importance of socialization and individualization of students, focus on the active inclusion of the child in the socio-cultural reality due to the specific organization of the educational space of the school. The latter, in turn, is focused, on the one hand, on the education of the qualities of consciousness, thoughtfulness, responsibility, and on the other, on the development of creativity of students, the individuality of each and the ability to interact with the surrounding world.Materials and methods: critical selection of information (theoretical and comparative analysis of domestic and foreign literature) and integration of approaches and methods of different orientation (theoretical and empirical). The methodological basis of the study was: systemic, socio-cultural, dialectical, personalized approaches. Results:the author defines the main components of socialization and individualization of schoolchildren, namely motivational-target, procedural and evaluative-reflexive (diagnostic); substantiates a set of conditions that contribute to the effective socialization and individualization of children, which is based on the organization of free interaction of the child with the surrounding world. The latter is considered as its progressive socialization and individualization in the process of cognition and transformation, social and cultural patterns in different types of children's activities. The article also presents the criteria for determining the success of socialization and individualization of students: motivational, value-normative, cognitive, communicative, practice-creative.Discussion and conclusions:the proposed components of socialization and individualization of students and the described conditions of their successful implementation can be used by teachers of the school as key reference points in the implementation of educational activities.

Abstract:
The construction of the correct trajectory of socialization, as a process of people’s inclusion to life in society, is one of the most important issues of modern pedagogical science. This problem is especially acute in educational organizations that prepare minors for military and other public service, which is confirmed by studies of domestic authors and by pedagogical practice. A significant role in the process of socialization is played by its initial stage, when the growing person adapts to the militarized educational environment and the former schoolboy assumes a completely new social role of the student. The article actualizes the problem of socialization of students in the Suvorov military schools of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at the initial stage of training. Insufficient attention is currently being paid by the scientific community to studies of the socialization processes of students in Suvorov schools, Nakhimov schools and cadet corps in general and general educational organizations of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in particular. Analyzing the scientific literature, taking into account the place of the educational environment and the significance of the value system of pupils in this process and based on a common understanding of socialization, the authors identify some factors that prevent successful socialization at the initial stage of training in pre-university educational organizations of power structures: low competence of the teacher and educator; imbalance between mental, mental and physical stress; uneven process of transition from the status of an ordinary pupil to the status of a student, etc. Taking into account the differences between educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and other law enforcement agencies, the authors conclude that there is no single and systematic approach to studying the problem of socialization of students of the Suvorov military schools of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and insufficient scientific and methodological elaboration of this direction.
