ABSTRACT Diploma Thesis Theatre-Poetry? examines a specific type of Czech alternative theatre, based on the creative author's work with literary texts. It deals with its characteristic, defining the genre and problems associated with a non depictive title, which defines this area of theatrical production. Collectively it describes its scenic resources and stage techniques. It traces its past associated with history of so called artistic recitation and the avant-garde art movement of the interwar years, from the beginning until the recent past and present (which has not been systematically described and evaluated). It recalls sources of inspiration and period context of the development of this kind of theatre, gives an overview of productions and related theatre companies, and important creative figures. It presents many scholarly quotations and authentic materials, especially period reviews and eyewitness´s memories. It contemplates the meaning, the artistic benefits and risks related to this method of theatre work and its future prospects - especially in relation to creative work with literary texts and their artistic presentation to the public and in connection with pedagogical activities and interests of Drama in Education.

Most of us try to do performance in pure style (mime, drama, clownerie, slap stick, physical theatre, opera, musical, ballet). I am interested in mixing of these styles. Robert Wilson works this way. For him movement is one of the basic means of communication. He works ? as mime theatre does ? with images (pictures). He works with hyperbole and big stylization, that is close to mime theatre. This thesis is interested in mime theatre or theatre of movement and its relation to other elements of theatre. The thesis also deals with the work of Robert Wilson and tries to show the interaction of the elements he uses for the stage image. A how he touches the audience with his work.

This dissertation - Aspects of actors work with emphasis on authenticity, Road show as a way to authentic acting, charts behaviour of our Divadlo koňa a motora (Theatre of a horse and a engine). I add here our diaries from wandering with the horse and a caravan in surroundings of Nitra, in the Šluknov region and also in eastern Slovakia. Due to the experience made by wandering itself and acting in front of audience, that is not used to visit theater, I try to find a way to grow up in acting. I also try to name particular problems in actors work, that I was facing up during my studies and praxis. Their possible solutions I try to find in my personal experiences from wandering.

Abstract:
This thesis follows the genesis of three authorial performances, that I and my partners created in collaboration during my study at the Department of authorial creativity and pedagogy DAMU. From the perspective of my own experience I am trying to monitor the specifics of such cooperation, the issues of rehearsing and performing with a fixed script and without a fixed script but with a list of points/a score instead. I am describing the influence of impulses and reflections from pedagogues given to us during our quest and I am also mentioning the working methods and exercises used when discovering the performance and my reflections of rehearsals. DVD of the three performances and two examples of point scripts is attached. One of which of a performance described in this thesis, the other of a solo authorial/devising work is attached for comparison.

Abstract:
Within my master's degree project Bathrooms I cooperated on the creation of several performances and theatre productions, in bathrooms of private flats as well as in theatre space. The main content of my thesis is therefore a reflection of these personal experiences, which are mostly founded on work with authentic material as a significant source of inspiration. The first part of the thesis concentrates on ten short performances in authenthic space (bathrooms), which were created in years 2009-2011. Here, I look into the solutions of the individual performances from the position of an author and a performer. At the conclusion of this part, I mostly place emphasis on the communication with the audience within the functions in authentic space, and I compare my own approach to the methods of other artists. The second part of the thesis is focused on the projects which I implemented in theatre space, together with other colleagues. These projects were founded on my experiences from the bathroom performances. In this part, I analyse the evolution of creative process, and seek connection with the experiments in authentic space.

This diploma thesis is a work of an actor´s graduate and deals with personal experience with functioning in a particular group. It is divided into three parts. The first part is devoted to social psychology and explains how the group and its functioning is seen by this field. In the second part, the author applies these facts on a specific group, who are her classmates of acting at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre. The third part focuses on a psychological questionnaire of individual group members and close associates of the group. This thesis named Five to twelve has no scientific ambitions, but is rather insight into one particular group of actors, and personal reflections of the author.

Abstract:
This Thesis examines the issue of character creation from the actor's point of view. As each actor perceives the process of creation differently and applies his own specific methods, I made the decision to concentrate on my individual approach: Which acting techniques do I use, which problems have I encountered and how have I found solutions to individual situations. I additionally strive to identify certain perks and downsides of the acting profession within the scope of the Thesis, particularly those likely to be encountered by an aspiring actor transitioning from a student theater to a professional troupe. The practical differences of these two environments are substantial and bring along multiple complications while simultaneously presenting a crucial turning point in an actors life. The Thesis primarily draws upon my personal experiences, lesson notes and my diary kept for the duration of my studies. The work is mostly based upon my graduation role in the Disk Theater staging of Punkrock. I further examine my first major professional experiences with the Masopust o.p.s. troupe, having participated on two production, the Steadfast prince (Vytrvalý princ) and Chupacabra. I then move on to Klicpera's Theater in which I had performed as a guest for one year and subsequently have been offered a company membership. From this experience I have chosen the two most important productions: Richard III and Romeo and Juliet. This work is mainly intended for students or fresh graduates of acting studies who could possibly benefit practically from some of my experiences on their own journey through the profession.

This Master's thesis addresses the process of staging musicals and operettas within the Czech theatre?s environment. As an example, the author chose five different titles for comparison and description of the process of preparation of this specific kind of musical theatre focusing on various options for theatre companies, discussing the demands and difficulties of assembling teams of artistic collaborators and the creative process itself during rehearsals. Processes concerned with the first grasp of a title as a dramatic text, through the spatial solutions of a dramatic situation in terms of stage space in a theatre, up to the director-actor collaboration, are documented by authentic findings, which are compared with notes of directors, who significantly influenced the author's view. The text also considers the specific demands of this kind of theatre on the actor (actress) and his (her) education and training

Abstract:
This master thesis is concerning the role of the manager in working with children and young audience in the world of theatre. The first chapters undertake the definition of the theatre for children and theatre played by children and brief history of this genre in the Czech Republic. It describes the history and rich tradition of festivals and parades in this area for different age categories until presence. The following chapters are dedicated to the relationship of theatres with their both audiences, current and potential. The thesis also appoints different possibilities of working with the audience and its development, its active engagement through interactive elements and impulses and building the long-term relationship with them. It defines the role of the manager in working with children and young audiences, it describes the activities of organisations concerning the theatre for children, dramatic education and concerning working with the audience and its development. In following chapters, there is description of specific needs of children and student audience and their characteristics. In next chapter there, is the analysis of the level of using marketing instruments and managerial attitudes in theatres, and the possibilities of financing activities of theatres aimed at children audience and youth. By studying the literature and conduction of my own quantitative research, I learnt about the level of cooperation between theatres and schools, and I evaluated the attitude of theatres towards children and youth audience and I was curious if the theatres are nurturing their future spectators.

This diploma master thesis deals with the use of new media and implementation of current online communication trends in the czech theatre environment. The first part defines most important terms and describes the features of the main platforms in online communication. Than follows a comparative analysis of the social media communication of five czech theatres - Jihočeské divadlo in České Budějovice, Slovácké divadlo in Uherské Hradiště, Městské divadlo Zlín, Moravské divadlo in Olomouc and Klicperovo divadlo in Hradec Králové. The next part presents the results of the online survey, which was carried out in cooperation with one of the analyzed theatres, Jihočeské divadlo. This research focused on online audience and their online and offline participation. Based on the research, some recomendations for the communication strategy of Jihočeské divadlo were formulated.

In the following text I will consider possible ways of using social theatre in social work. Studying connections between these fields is preceded by a brief introduction of chosen terms of the theory of social work and theatre, with definitions as the frame. The main objective of my work is the basic division of forms of social theatre and desribtion of its conditions in the Czech Republic. Social theatre as a self-contained system is not defined in the Czech literature yet. Comparing foreign sources and the terminology used in the Czech literature with knowledge of the protagonists' way of work were used to make the structure, so that the main representatives, authors and organizers could be named in relation to particular forms. Based on such a map of contemporary social theatre in our country using definitions and theoretical terms, the answer is offered to the question , whether theatre is a valuable tool of social work, what areas could benefit from it most, and what the specific benefits are from the point of view of values and objectives of social work. Abstract:
The aim of this thesis is to find out how the participants of the Theatre of the Oppressed become empowered and how they use these experiences from the Theatre in other spheres of life. The research is based on a qualitative method and semi-structured interviews with open coding. The sample consists of Roma and non-Roma respondents. The results show that the necessary prerequisites for empowerment include meetings and dialogues with others, games and interventions, sharing of experiences and active work against oppression. In other dimensions of life, we can see personal empowerment manifest itself by higher self-confidence, advanced communication skills and responsible citizenship. In the professional sphere empowerment is presented in a work with a group, in a current job or in an involvement in new projects. For a civil society to thrive it is important that people from the majority society meet and work together with members of the minority groups. It is also essential to promote civil competences and social capital, meet with strongly engaged activists, open discussions in the public sphere and support the principle of taking responsibility for one's life and the life of the community. This diploma thesis deals with the possible applications of the dramatic method called Forum theatre in the work with children and teenagers. The theoretical part is divided in to three chapters and where the first chapter introduces Forum theatre. The second chapter describes the formation of the Theatre of the Oppressed concept, whose main technique is the examined method. The third part provides a detailed description of the method including the aims, rules a principles for the role of a Joker. The second part of the thesis examines the relationship of the method towards the educational system of the Czech Republic. Concretely it deals with the key competences, personal and social education a dramatic education. The aim of this thesis is to map the current state of the usage of the method, to determine who, whit what goals and with what susses uses the method. Than the original concept, developed by Augusto Boal for work with adults is confronted with the currently used variations of this method. Based on this analysis some principles, which might be used in the future practice are set.
