Abstract:

La situation du Cheval dans l’économie française est expliquée. Animal d’utilité pour le trait jusqu’en 1950, sa part dans l’agriculture s’est progressivement réduite avec l’évolution vers la mécanisation. Il présente maintenant des axes de développement importants qui sont étroitement liés à l’économie urbaine de la société dite des loisirs. Cela le différencie apparemment beaucoup des autres productions animales. Mais peut être n’est-ce là qu’un effet de perspective dans une évolution générale qui touche aussi d’autres espèces dites de rente. Les particularités de cette production qui représente de nouveau une importance économique considérable pour le tourisme, les loisirs et les courses sont présentées dans cette perspective.

Impulsé successivement par les lois dites Grenelle de 2009 et 2010, en 2015 par la loi de transition énergétique pour la croissance verte, dite LTECV, en 2018 par la loi pour l'équilibre des relations commerciales dans le secteur agricole et une alimentation saine et durable, dite EGALIM, puis en 2020 par la loi anti-gaspillage pour une économie circulaire, dite AGEC, le tri à la source des biodéchets ambitionne de mieux capter leur valeur agronomique et énergétique. Ainsi, en substitution à l’incinération et à l’enfouissement, l’objectif est désormais de favoriser les filières de valorisation des biodéchets par épandage, après compostage et/ou méthanisation. Mais si, avec le composteur au fond du jardin, la mise en oeuvre de ce programme est relativement simple dans le cas de l’habitat rural, il en va autrement en zone urbaine où de nombreuses options sont à considérer, avec des circuits de collecte et de traitement plus ou moins complexes. Conjointement au développement de solutions de compostage à petite échelle très médiatisées, de nouveaux modèles de gestion centralisée couplée à une grande diversité de procédés font leur apparition. Aux côtés de nouveaux équipements de déconditionnement qui permettent d’extraire la soupe organique des biodéchets des gros producteurs pour nourrir les méthaniseurs, cohabitent des usines sous maîtrise d’ouvrage publique pour traiter les biodéchets en mélange des collectivités. Dans ce contexte de développement de l’économie circulaire, mais aussi de grande instabilité du marché des prix de l’énergie, la notion récente de « biodéchets », introduite en droit français par la directive cadre de 2008, perturbe l’équilibre des filières du retour au sol des déchets organiques (déchets végétaux, fraction fermentescible des ordures ménagères, ordures ménagères résiduelles, résidus alimentaires, boues d’épuration…). Au travers de divers outils, l’objet de cet article est d’interroger l’origine de cette notion de « biodéchets », en France et à l’étranger.

Placées dans un contexte de globalisation, les PME sont soumises au phénomène de délocalisation, au même titre que les grandes entreprises. Pourtant, certaines d’entre elles choisissent de maintenir leurs activités sur le territoire d’origine en menant des stratégies dites « alternatives ». Notre recherche porte sur une alternative dite « humaine » à la délocalisation. Plus précisément, il s’agit d’évaluer l’enjeu de la valorisation du potentiel humain sur le maintien des activités dans un territoire donné. L’analyse se fonde sur la théorie des ressources et des compétences et simultanément sur les apports de la littérature relative au potentiel humain. L’enjeu de ce potentiel humain dans la compétitivité des entreprises et le maintien de leurs activités sur le territoire peut ainsi être estimé. Les résultats proviennent d’une étude de cas menée auprès d’une PME maintenant ses activités en France tout en étant tentée par cette stratégie ; cette étude de cas a été élargie par une enquête par questionnaire réalisée auprès de 41 PME.

Abstract:

Le plan Simoun est le nom de code militaire d’une opération destinée à transférer les jeunes européens d’Alger et d’Oran en métropole et en Allemagne afin qu’ils y effectuent leur service militaire. Il s’inscrit dans la même logique que les trois fractions du contingent précédent, dites 1962/1 A, 1962/1 B et 1962/1 C, respectivement mobilisées les 1 er janvier, 1 er mars et 1 er mai 1962 et envoyées, elles aussi, en métropole. Cependant, il s’en distingue par l’appel anticipé. En effet, les jeunes FSE (Français de souche européenne) d’Alger et d’Oran ont été mobilisés en juin, un mois avant l’appel de la fraction du second contingent, dite 1962/2 A, dont l’incorporation était normalement prévue pour le 1 er juillet selon le décret, n° 61-1291 du 29 novembre 1961. Mais aussi, par le recrutement à l’âge de 19 ans, en raison de l’alignement des âges d’incorporation sur ceux de la métropole et par la résiliation de nombreux sursis. Ces mesures extraordinaires sont imposées, le 17 mai 1962, par l’ordonnance n° 62-574 du ministre des Armées Pierre Messmer.

Abstract:

Abstract Background: Therapeutic possibilities in PDAC remain poor and access to tumor tissue for molecular profiling is still a challenge. The era of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) or liquid biopsy facilitated molecular screening and treatment orientation in selected patients (pts). Patients and methods: Data from PDAC pts who underwent liquid biopsy at the Drug Development Department (DITEP) at Gustave Roussy were collected. The primary objective was to assess the ability of liquid biopsy to find molecular alterations (MA), orient and include pts in early phase clinical trials. We evaluated the progression-free survival (PFS) on matched therapy (PFS2) compared to PFS on prior therapy (PFS1). Treatment efficacy was considered by focusing on the percentage of patients with a PFS2 that was 1.5 times greater than the PFS1, based on a standard calculation (PFS2/PFS1), and a modified formula (mPFSr) with mPFSr = postPFS/prePFS with postPFS = PFS2 if PFS2 < 6 months and postPFS = 24 months if PFS2 > 6 months; prePFS = PFS1 if PFS1 > 2 months and prePFS = 2 months if PFS1 < 2 months. Results: Between January 2020 to November 2022, a total of 31 pts were included in the study. The main characteristics were as follow: median age of 62 years (32-81), median number of previous lines of treatment of 2 (0-4) and median ECOG Performance Status of 0 (0-2). Finally, 30 patients had a liquid biopsy at progression on their last treatment line. Targetable MA (FGFR, KRAS…) were found in 8 pts (27%), and 5 patients (17%) received a matched targeted therapy in an early phase clinical trial. FGFR alterations were the most frequent and 3 patients (60%) received FGFR inhibitors. From the 5 patients matched and treated, one patient (20%) had a PFS2/PFS1 ratio > 1.5 and three pts (60%) had an mPFSr > 1.5. With a median follow-up time of 12.3 months (9.2-NR), the overall response rate was 20%, the overall control rate was 100% and the median overall survival was not reached (8.5-NR months). Discussion: These results suggest that molecular profiling-matched therapy assessed by liquid biopsy could improve the therapeutic field in pancreatic cancer. However, only a small proportion of patients are matched and treated. Randomised trials are needed to confirm the value of this treatment method in pancreatic cancer. Abstract:

Nous qualifions d’orthodoxe tout type de logique qui repose entièrement sur l’axiomatique aristotélicienne, dite identitaire, et sur le principe de bivalence. Les logiques orthodoxes donnent lieu à un mode de raisonner analytique qui refuse la contradiction et dans lequel tout concept se distingue strictement et discrètement de tout autre concept. Une manière de raisonner qui se veut une alternative à l’analytique est la dialectique. Celle-ci admet la contradiction comme principe fondamental. Dans le sillage de la dialectique, on trouve des systèmes logiques qui intègrent la contradiction, mais ont la particularité d’adopter le principe d’identité. Ce sont les logiques néo-orthodoxes formées de l’ensemble des logiques dites affaiblies, non triviales et paraconsistantes. Eu égard aux phénomènes perçus complexes évoluant dans le temps et dans l’espace, nous remettons en question le caractère strictement absolu de l’identité et acceptons la contradiction comme forme particulière de la différenciation. Nous proposons trois principes de base pour établir une logique de la complexité : les principes d’idemité, de différentialité et de relationnalité. Ils n’excluent pas l’axiomatique aristotélicienne, mais reconnaissent sa pertinence seulement à un certain niveau d’abstraction. De plus, nous esquissons un modèle de différenciation des propositions ou énoncés en fonction de leurs valeurs de vérité.

Abstract:

This descriptive study identified the profile, common swardspeak and frequency of its use, and the situations of usage among the Bachelor of Secondary Education students in a higher education institution in the Philippines during the academic year 2020-2021. Thirty (30) randomly selected respondents supplied the data through a survey questionnaire, which was analyzed using frequency count and percentage. Results showed that most of the students who use swardspeak are female within the age range of 19-22 years old. The most common swardspeak used are afam, akeno/aketch/akis, awra, baboosh, beks/vaklangtow, bonak/junakis, bongga, borlog, chaka/shonget, char/charot/chos, cheka/chika, chosera/chusera, churva, daks, dites/ditey, eclavu, eme/keme, ganern, gora/gorabels, gurl, Hagardo Versoza, hanash, imas, juntis/juntils, juts, kabog, kalerki/nakakalurky, keribels/keriboomboom/keri lang, kiber, knowangji, krayola, lafang, Lotlot/Lotlot De Leon, mamsh/momshee/mudra/mudrakels, murayta, pagoda, pakak, payola, pudra, shala, sinetch/sinetchitey, sizt, shokot, shonga/shunga, shupatid, spyokang, Tom Jones, waley/wis/wit/wiz, warla, and Winwin Marquez. Most of these swardspeak words are sometimes used in public places with friends, and in instances or situations where they have to go with or join a group. These cross-sectional findings can affect further studies as this swardspeak can be enhanced as this generation goes out and come up with sets of new words.

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to investigate the protective effects of 7S,15R-dihydroxy-16S,17S-epoxy-docosapentaenoic acid (diHEP-DPA) in retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cell damage. ARPE-19 cells, a human RPE cell line, were cultured with diHEP-DPA and Bis-retinoid N-retinyl-N-retinylidene ethanolamine (A2E), followed by exposure to BL. Cell viability and cell death rates were determined. Western blotting was performed to determine changes in apoptotic factors, mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) family proteins, inflammatory proteins, and oxidative and carbonyl stresses. The levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the culture medium supernatants were also measured. Exposure to A2E and BL increased the ARPE-19 cell death rate, which was alleviated by diHEP-DPA in a concentration-dependent manner. A2E and BL treatments induced apoptosis in ARPE-19 cells, which was also alleviated by diHEP-DPA. Analysis of the relationship with MAPK proteins revealed that the expression of p-JNK and p-P38 increased after A2E and BL treatments and decreased with exposure to diHEP-DPA in a concentration-dependent manner. DiHEP-DPA also affected the inflammatory response by suppressing the expression of inflammatory proteins and the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Furthermore, it was shown that diHEP-DPA regulated the proteins related to oxidative and carbonyl stresses. Taken together, our results provide evidence that diHEP-DPA can inhibit cell damage caused by A2E and BL exposure at the cellular level by controlling various pathways involved in apoptosis and inflammatory responses.

Abstract:

Colorectal cancer is a highly malignant cancer that is inherently resistant to many chemotherapeutic drugs owing to the complicated tumor-supportive microenvironment (TME). Tumor-associated macrophages (TAM) are known to mediate colorectal cancer metastasis and relapse and are therefore a promising therapeutic target. In the current study, we first confirmed the anti-inflammatory effect of 7S,15R-dihydroxy-16S,17S-epoxy-docosapentaenoic acid (diHEP-DPA), a novel DHA dihydroxy derivative synthesized in our previous work. We found that diHEP-DPA significantly reduced lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammatory cytokines secretion of THP1 macrophages, IL-6, and TNF-α. As expected, diHEP-DPA also modulated TAM polarization, as evidenced by decreased gene and protein expression of the TAM markers, CD206, CD163, VEGF, and TGF-β1. During the polarization process, diHEP-DPA treatment decreased the concentration of TGF-β1, IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α in culture supernatants via inhibiting the NF-κB pathway. Moreover, diHEP-DPA blocked immunosuppression by reducing the expression of SIRPα in TAMs and CD47 in colorectal cancer cells. Knowing that an inflammatory TME largely serves to support epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and cancer stemness, we tested whether diHEP-DPA acted through polarization of TAMs to regulate these processes. The intraperitoneally injected diHEP-DPA inhibited tumor growth when administered alone or in combination with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) chemotherapy in vivo. We further found that diHEP-DPA effectively reversed TAM-conditioned medium (TCCM)-induced EMT and enhanced colorectal cancer stemness, as evidenced by its inhibition of colorectal cancer cell migration, invasion and expression of EMT markers, as well as cancer cell tumorspheres formation, without damaging colorectal cancer cells. DiHEP-DPA reduced the population of aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH)-positive cells and expression of colorectal stemness marker proteins (CD133, CD44, and Sox2) by modulating TAM polarization. Additionally, diHEP-DPA directly inhibited cancer stemness by inducing the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which, in turn, reduced the phosphorylation of nuclear signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3). These data collectively suggest that diHEP-DPA has the potential for development as an anticancer agent against colorectal cancer.

Abstract This paper reports on an explorative sociophonetic study of the phoneme /s/ in the Dutch language area. Our aim is to investigate the regional variation in the realisation of this phoneme, and to test experimentally the observation of Collins & Mees (2003) that /s/ is sometimes pronounced more like [ ], especially in the Randstad area (called s-retraction). One hundred native speakers of Dutch produced nineteen monosyllabic words containing /s/ in different syllabic contexts. The speakers were born and raised in one of five regions of the Dutch language area (West Flanders, Flemish Brabant, Netherlands Limburg, South Holland and Groningen). Spectral centre of gravity (CoG) and duration were used to measure the degree of s-retraction. CoG values turned out to be significantly lower (consistent with more retraction) in the regions in The Netherlands than in the Flemish regions. Speakers from South Holland produced significantly shorter /s/ than the other speakers. In conclusion, /s/ shows patterns of regional variation that are not fully in line with the observation forwarded by Collins & Mees (2003). The difference between the Flemish and Dutch regions shows that s-retraction is found in an area larger than the Randstad, possibly pointing towards a North-South pattern of variation.

Objective To explore the correlations of radiomic features of dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) with microvessel density (MVD) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), based on single-input and dual-input two-compartment extended Tofts (SITET and DITET) models. Methods We compared the quantitative parameters of SITET and DITET models for DCE-MRI in 30 patients with HCC using paired sample t-tests. The correlations of SITET and DITET model parameters with CD31-MVD and CD34-MVD were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation analysis. A diagnostic model of CD34-MVD was established and the diagnostic abilities of models for MVD were analyzed using receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analysis. Results There were significant differences between the quantitative parameters in the two kinds of models. Compared with SITET, DITET parameters showed better correlations with CD31-MVD and CD34-MVD. The Ktrans and Ve radiomics features of the DITET model showed high efficiency for predicting the level of CD34-MVD according to ROC analysis, with areas under curves of 0.83 and 0.94, respectively. Conclusion Compared with SITET, the DITET model provides a better indication of the microcirculation of HCC and is thus more suitable for examining patients with HCC.

Notre approche s’appuie sur la possibilité d’une lecture de cette série sur deux plans : (1) celui de la biologie imaginée (biologie dite « naïve » ou intuitive), cerveau imaginé compris ; et (2) celui du cerveau imaginant (biologie contre-intuitive). Smallville s’offre, de manière quasi immédiate, à une approche mythopoïétique du parcours super-héroïque donné au cours des dix saisons, jouant sur les thématiques de la mémoire, celle des origines comme celle de la génétique imaginée. Abstract Drug-induced immune thrombocytopenia (DITP) is an adverse drug effect mediated by drug-dependent antibodies. Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) is frequently used to treat DITP and primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). Despite IVIG's proven beneficial effects in ITP, its efficacy in DITP is unclear. We have established a nonobese diabetic/severe combined immunodeficient (NOD/SCID) mouse model of DITP in which human platelets survive for more than 24 hours, allowing platelet clearance by DITP/ITP antibodies to be studied. Rapid human platelet clearance was uniformly observed with all quinine-induced thrombocytopenia (QITP) patient sera studied (mean platelet lifespans: QITP 1.5 ± 0.3 hours vs controls 16.5 ± 4.3 hours), consistent with the clinical presentation of DITP. In contrast, clearance rates with ITP antibodies were more variable. IVIG treatment partially prevented platelet clearance by DITP and ITP antibodies. Our results suggest that the NOD/SCID mouse model is useful for investigating the efficacy of current and future DITP therapies, an area in which there is little experimental evidence to guide treatment.

Abstract Introduction: Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapies, particularly anti-PD1/PD-L1 monoclonal antibodies, have transformed the field of medical oncology. However, many patients with advanced cancer demonstrate primary resistance to ICB strategies. The identification of objective clinical and biological characteristics associated with treatment resistance is crucial for identifying patients who are most likely not to benefit from conventional or current ICB combinations strategies. Studies and trials dedicated to these patients are essential to overcome such resistance. Methods: We prospectively enrolled patients treated with ICB at Gustave Roussy between 2018 and 2022 in the PREMIS study (NCT03984318). We examined a sub-cohort of patients treated at the early drug development department (DITEP). We identified pre-treatment (baseline) clinical and biological characteristics, including patients’ oncogenic alterations documented via circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) sequencing in our STING study (NCT04932525), to find a significant difference between patients according to their best objective antitumor response (BOR; complete response [CR], partial response [PR], stable disease [SD], or progressive disease [PD]). Results: We analyzed a total of 227 patients, with paired ctDNA available for 96 patients. Patients were 52% women and 48% men, averaging 59 years old, with 24 different solid tumor types and enrolled in 50 different early phase clinical trials. Eleven percent of patients had received prior ICB treatment. BOR were PD (61%), SD (20%), PR (15%), and CR (4%). We identified clinical characteristics significantly different between patients according to their BOR: performance status (PS), number of previous lines of therapy, number of metastases, presence of liver metastases, absolute neutrophils count (ANC), absolute lymphocyte count (ALC), neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio, CRP, GGT and LDH plasma concentrations, and MLH1 mutations. Acording these results, a score from 0 to 5 was calculated according to the presence of the following characteristics (yes=+1): presence of liver metastases, ALC below the lower limit of the normal (LLN), ANC above the upper limit of the normal (ULN), CRP > ULN, LDH > ULN. Patients with a score ≥ 4 did not develop a response during ICB treatments (n=27, 12%). Among them, 25 (92.6%) had a PS of 0-1 and 9 (33.3%) had a Royal Marsden Hospital (RMH) score of 1. Additionally, both progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) decreased significantly with the addition of each point score. Conclusion: Patients with advanced cancer treated by ICB in early phase clinical trials with at least 4 detrimental characteristics (presence of liver metastases, ALC < LLN, ANC, CRP and LDH > ULN) had primary resistance to ICB regardless of tumor type, ICB regimen, PS or RMH. Identification of immunological and oncogenic alterations specific to these patients could support the development of targeted and personalized ICB combination trials to overcome tumor resistance. Abstract:

En se taillant une place de plus en plus visible dans les structures du monde universitaire globalisant grâce entre autres à la reconnaissance de doctorats en traductologie, les chercheurs qui représentent la traduction (traductologie ou Translation Studies) auraient tort d’imaginer qu’ils n’ont plus de problèmes d’identité. En effet, leur homogénéité comme communauté de chercheurs n’est pas évidente, quoique l’usage de l’anglais dans la désignation de la discipline – Translation Studies ou TS – risque de nous faire croire le contraire. L’hétérogénéité n’est pas forcément un handicap, mais l’absence de cohésion entre les différentes ailes des TS (formation des traducteurs et des interprètes; traduction dite automatique; recherches dites descriptives ou théoriques, tantôt appliquées, tantôt fondamentales) n’est pas de nature à nous rassurer. L’absence d’harmonie, camouflée non sans diplomatie dans le terme TS, ne manque pas de gêner l’intégration avec et dans les autres disciplines. Il y aurait lieu de distinguer entre homogénéité interne et externe, l’une renforçant sans doute l’autre. S’il est vrai que les spécialistes de la traduction n’ont pas toujours brillé dans les initiatives interdisciplinaires, la cécité réciproque n’est pas rare dans le monde universitaire. Il est plus grave encore de constater que certaines grandes tendances en matière de langue, linguistique, société et communication, susceptibles d’inspirer des formes de coopération nouvelles, ont été ignorées. C’est le cas, entre autres, des mouvements novateurs qui se concentrent sur l’internationalisation et la mondialisation. En somme, une conception statique du monde universitaire n’est guère compatible avec la recherche sur la traduction.
