Abstract:
Random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD-PCR) was applied to the identification of Australian navy bean varieties. A total of 296 markers were generated from 29 primers. Three new navy bean varieties that were difficult to distinguish by visual characteristics could be uniquely identified by RAPDPCR. The varieties were distinguished from their parents and from 3 commercially available varieties. The overall level of polymorphism between all varieties was low (about 15%). However, 3 lines (Campbell-11, CH33-8D, Spearfelt) were more distinct genetically from the other genotypes (e.g. similarity of only 75%). Analysis using RAPD-PCR molecular markers may allow distinction of varieties for plant variety rights and will provide information on the genetic relationships of these varieties for breeding purposes.

Abstract:
Abstract. The purpose. Identification of among the variety of cherries introduced in the natural and climatic conditions of the northern foothills of Dagestan, the most promising variety samples distinguished by high nutritional value and the best commodity and consumer quality indicators for further use in selection and horticulture in order to optimize the industrial variety of cherries. Methods. The studies were carried out using generally accepted chemical methods of analysis and standard methods of sweet cherry variety study. Results. It was determined that the largest amount of soluble solids was contained in the fruits of the varieties: Melanbayer (15.3 %), Polyanka (14.8 %), Lyaskovska Khrushchalka (14.6 %) and Merton Bigarro (14.5 %). The best in terms of the mass concentration of sugars (11.57–12.81 %) were the varieties Sofiyska Khrushchalka, Merton Bigarro, Polyanka and Melanbayer. The varieties Gudzon, Merton Bigarro, Polyanka, Melanbayer and Meteor distinguished themselves with a high content of titrated acids (0.80–1.14 %). Sweet cherry varieties Polyanka, Sofiyska Khrushchalka, Gudzon, Van, Melanbayer and Merton Bigarro were distinguished by the greatest ability to accumulate vitamin C (7.21–9.16 mg%). The fruits of the Polyanka and Sofiyska Khrushchalka varieties received the highest tasting rating (5 points). The best indicators of fruit weight were distinguished by the varieties Van (6.7 g), Gudzon (7.2 g), Lyaskovska Khrushchalka (7.2 g) and Polyanka (9.0 g). The results of the technical analysis of the fruits of the sweet cherry prototypes showed that the Merton Bigarro, Van, Lyaskovska Hrushalka and Polyanka varieties belong to the highest commercial grade. Scientific novelty. For the first time, a comprehensive quality assessment of 12 varieties of sweet cherries introduced in the conditions of foothill Dagestan was carried out and the most promising varieties were identified (Polyanka, Gudzon, Merton Bigarro, Van and Sofiyska Khrushchalka), which are distinguished by the best quality indicators that can be recommended for successful optimization of the industrial variety, as well as used as donors and gene sources in selection work in order to improve the biochemical composition, commodity-consumer and tasting characteristics of fruits.

Abstract:
Molecular markers by random amplified polymorphic DNAs were used to evaluate the genetic variation among different Oncidium accessions. It is possible to distinguish different registered Oncidium hybrids, including Gower Ramsey, Sweet Sugar, and Taka using nine random primers. Furthermore, variation was also detected within different cultivars derived from same hybrids. For example, several cultivars of Gower Ramsey could be distinguished based on molecular markers. Based on dendrogram, the investigated cultivars were clustered into several groups. Onc. Gower Ramsey and its selected cultivars were in one group. Onc. Sweet Sugar, Onc. Taka and Onc. Sharry Baby `Sweet Fragrance' were clustered in separate groups.

Abstract:
A class [Formula: see text] of algebras with a distinguished constant term 0 is called Fregean if congruences of algebras in [Formula: see text] are uniquely determined by their 0–cosets and ΘA (0,a) = ΘA (0,b) implies a = b for all [Formula: see text]. The structure of Fregean varieties is investigated. In particular it is shown that every congruence permutable Fregean variety consists of algebras that are expansions of equivalential algebras, i.e. algebras that form an algebraization of the purely equivalential fragment of the intuitionistic propositional logic. Moreover the clone of polynomials of any finite algebra A from a congruence permutable Fregean variety is uniquely determined by the congruence lattice of A together with the commutator of congruences. Actually we show that such an algebra A itself can be recovered (up to polynomial equivalence) from its congruence lattice expanded by the commutator, i.e. the structure ( Con (A); ∧, ∨, [·,·]). This leads to Fregean frames, a notion that generalizes Kripke frames for intuitionistic propositional logic.

Abstract:
An inner toral polynomial is a polynomial in \(\mathbb{C}\) [z,w] such that its zero set is contained in \(\mathbb{D}\)2 \(\cup\) \(\mathbb{T}\)2 \(\cup\) \(\mathbb{E}\)2 where \(\mathbb{D}\) is the open unit disc, \(\mathbb{T}\) is the unit circle and \(\mathbb{E}\) is the exterior of the closed unit disc in \(\mathbb{C}\). Given such a polynomial p, it's zero set that lies inside \(\mathbb{D}\)2 , i.e V = Z (p) \(\cap\) \(\mathbb{D}\)2 is called a distinguished variety, and p is called a polynomial defining the distinguished variety V . An inner toral polynomial always gives a distinguished variety and vice versa. Finite Blaschke products generate inner toral polynomials such a way that, given a finite Blaschke product B(z) the numerator of wm - B(z) is an inner toral polynomial. In this paper, we investigate the conditions that make the sum and the composition of inner toral polynomials generated by finite Blaschke products, inner toral.

Abstract:
Standard theories of politeness (Lakoff 1975, Leech 1983, Brown and Levinson 1987) face a number of problems. To mention but a few, it can be doubted that these theories have managed to establish truly universal concepts and classifications of (im)polite behavior; they exaggerate the relative importance of indirectness; they do not treat situational and societal constraints sufficiently; finally, they do not deal with rudeness in enough detail. Therefore, it does not seem to be possible to describe rudeness simply as a deviation from or violation of rules and maxims of cooperative/polite communication. Starting from suggestions made by Kasper (1990) and Culpeper (1996), I will try to refine standard definitions of politeness and rudeness. Moreover, examples of rude utterances (mostly taken from spoken and written English and German dialogues) will be used to establish a typology of communicative rudeness. Several subtypes of cooperative (e.g. ritual insults, reactive rudeness, sociable rudeness) and non-cooperative (e.g. strategic rudeness in public institutions) rudeness are distinguished.

We consider universal algebras which are monoids and which have a binary operation we call internalized equality, satisfying some natural conditions. We show that the class of such E-structures has a characterization in terms of a distinguished submonoid which is a semilattice. Some important varieties (and variety-like classes) of E-structures are considered, including E-semilattices (which we represent in terms of topological spaces), E-rings (which we show are equivalent to rings with a generalized interior operation), E-quantales (where internalized equalities on a fixed quantale in which 1 is the largest element are shown to correspond to sublocales of the quantale), and EI-structures (in which an internalized inequality is defined and interacts in a natural way with the equality operation).

Abstract:
In order to highlight the sources of economically valuable traits in 2017-2018 years, 131 varieties of pea collection (Pisum sativum L.) were clustered using a hierarchical agglomerative algoritm based on the minimum of Euclidean distanced. Under conditions with sufficient moisture (2017, GTC=1.35) and moisture deficit (2018, GTC=0.76) in two morphological groups different in leaf type, the varieties were combined into clasters according to similar yield values (g/m2), the protein content in seeds (%) and the duration of the growing season (day) from full germinition to economic maturation. In 2017, in groups with a leafless and a common type leaf, eight clusters were distinguished in each of them, in arid conditions (2018), their number was, respectively, nine and seven. For use in breeding to increase the gross yield of protein, clusters with high yields and protein content are proposed, mainly in the leafless group, which have a higher resistance to lodging. In this morphological group, under conditions with suficient moisture varieties of the sixth cluster Yamalsky, Yamal-2, Aksaysky 55, Stepnyak, Krasnoufimskiy 11, Berkut, Terno with a yield of 380-492 g/m2 and a protein content of 23.23...27.81%, in arid conditions (2018) the varieties of the fifth cluster Faraon, Fokor, L-1599, Pamjat Khangildina, Samarius with indicators, respectively, 268...312 g/m2) and 22.61...22.93% were distinguished. In 2017 among the leaf varieties of the fourth cluster Kudesnik, Argon, L-2516 with the combination of high values of productivity (400...428 g/m2) and protein content in seeds (23.67...25.32%), UG-95888-2, in 2018 varieties of the fifth cluster Intensive 92, Janus, Chishminsky 229 with indicators of 268...320 g/m2 and 22.51...25.42% were distinguished. Varieties Veles and Kazanets with consistently high yields (304-328 g/m2, CV = 0.6 ... 1.3%) are of breeding value as sources of drought resistance

Abstract:
Alfalfa occupies a leading position among the crops used for obtaining renewable sources of protein and energy-saturated feed, as well as a mean of biological reclamation of agricultural land, preservation and improvement of soil fertility. The aim of the research is to study the economically valuable characteristics of various varieties of alfalfa to local soil and climatic conditions in terms of seed productivity and feed value. Promising varieties that combine high feed and seed productivity have been identified. According to the indicators of seed productivity, the alfalfa variety Lada was distinguished. In this variety, the indicators of green mass, dry matter and seed productivity are most successfully combined. The Lada variety surpassed the other varieties in seed productivity, the formation of beans with a large number of seeds by 7–9%. In the average of three years, the number of stems per 1 m2 was distinguished by the varieties Lada and Vega 87 — 110–120 pcs/m2. In these varieties, the number of internodes was 18 pieces, and in the standard Nakhodka — 14 pieces. In terms of the number of stems, 2 samples significantly exceeded the standard: Lada and Pastbischnaya 88. According to the yield of green mass and leafiness, the varieties of alfalfa Lada and Ve-ga 87 outperformed other varieties by 5–7%. In the future of our research, the selected varieties will be used to form new varieties.

Abstract:
We analyzed a set of twenty most grown potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) varieties listed in the Czech Variety List using the PCR-IRAP (Inter-Retrotransposon Amplified Polymorphism) method in order to distinguish fast and unambiguously the varieties. In total, 62 polymorphic alleles were amplified using the three primers P-Tst-1, P-Tst-3 and P-Tst-6. The recorded pattern of markers was stable and reproducible. The analyses were repeated three times and identical results were always obtained. The level of polymorphism varied from 11% to 79% depending on the respective primer. All analysed varieties could be reliably distinguished after multivariate statistics have been applied to the data obtained by the PCO and UPGMA analyses. The best resolution of individual varieties was obtained if all three primers were evaluated as a complex. The use of retrotransposon-based markers appears to be suitable for the differentiation of large sets of potato samples and should be an eligible complement to other molecular markers used in potato variety identification such as Simple Sequence Repeats (SSR) and Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphisms (AFLP).

Abstract:
Oil flax was grown on gray forest soils of the Sverdlovsk region. The purpose of the research was to compare the yield of new varieties of oil flax, to justify the yield value by elements of the yield structure and to determine the seed quality by biochemical composition. The research method was a field experiment with variance analysis of experimental data. We established that in the Sverdlovsk region, even in extreme meteorological conditions, it is possible to obtain the oil flax yield of 1.8–2.2 t/ha. In the ecological trial, the varieties Uralsky, VNIIMK 620 FN, RFN, Fliz, Rachel and Lirina were distinguished by early maturity, in which the growing season was 82 days, which is 10 days shorter than late-maturing varieties. According to the seed yield in the conditions of 2021, the varieties Lirina (2.04 t/ha), Uralsky (1.88 t/ha), VNIIMK 620 FN (1.71 t/ha), Fliz (1.64 t/ha) and Rachel (1.73 t/ha) were distinguished. With small differences between varieties in plant density, the yield value was determined by the optimal combination of the main elements of its structure – the number of pods per 1 plant, seeds in a pod and the thousand-seed weight. The highest yield in the competitive trial was formed by the variety Uralsky yellow (2.28 t/ha). By thousand-seed weight, it is inferior to the variety Northern (standard with brown seeds), but exceeds the similar variety LM 98 with yellow seeds by 1.32 g. In the warm and arid conditions of 2021, flax seeds were characterized by increased oil content. By this trait, the varieties August (48.6%), RFN (46.9%) and Azurite (46.6%) were distinguished.

Abstract:
Purpose. To determine the dependence of yield and flour-milling properties of new spring bread wheat varieties of Myronivka breeding on different growing season conditions. Methods. During 2017–2019, twelve spring bread wheat varieties were studied in the conditions of the V. M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat of NAAS. Grain and flour quality indicators were determined according to conventional methods. Results. It was found that weather conditions in 2019 were more favorable for realizing the yield potential of spring wheat varieties, but they had a negative impact on quality indicators. By exceeding on 30–40% the standard ‘Elehiia myronivska’, the varieties – ‘Bozhena’ (4.23 t/ha), ‘Oksamyt myronivskyi’ (4.28 t/ha), ‘MIP Svitlana’ (4.31 t/ha), and ‘Dubravka’ (4.62 t/ha) were selected in terms of yield. The varieties ‘Simkoda myronivska’, ‘MIP Zlata’, ‘Bozhena’, ‘MIP Vizerunok’, and ‘MIP Oleksandra’ were singled out by the combination of high physical indicators of grain quality. The varieties ‘Simkoda myronivska’, ‘Oksamyt myronivskyi’, and ‘Panianka’ were distinguished by complex of the highest flour quality indicators. The varieties being the most stable in terms of individual characters were identified. These were ‘Simkoda myronivska’, ‘MIP Zlata’, ‘Bozhena’, ‘Oksamyt myronivskyi’, ‘MIP Svitlana’, and ‘MIP Oleksandra’ by yielding capacity. According to quality indicators, in particular, by 1000 kernel weight, varieties ‘Simkoda myronivska’, ‘MIP Vizerunok’ were distinguished; high scores for grain vitreousness were in most varieties, except for ‘Elehiia myronivska’, ‘Simkoda myronivska’, and ‘MIP Oleksandra’; according to test weight and flour yield, all varieties had high rates; according to the protein content, the variety ‘Oksamyt myronivskyi’ was distinguished; varieties ‘Dubravka’ and ‘MIP Oleksandra’ by wet gluten content. The ANOVA established that the most dependence on weather conditions was revealed for such parameters as 1000 kernel weight (part of influence 83.7%), protein content (76.7%), sedimentation value (66.7%), flour yield (52.6%), gluten deformation index (46.0%), and wet gluten content (42.6%); the most dependence on the interaction of factors year  variety was revealed for yielding capacity (52.3%), the grain vitreousness (50.5%), and the test weight (36.5%). A reliable effect of the factor variety on yield (34.9%) and all investigated quality indicators (5.1–35.1%) was revealed. Conclusions. It is expedient to use the varieties listed above as sources of certain traits for the creation of new high-yielding and high-quality varieties for different areas of use.

Abstract:
The results of the study of promising potato varieties in Novosibirsk region (2016-2018) are presented. The objects of the study were 14 samples of potatoes, 10 of them were modern domestic varieties not zoned in the West Siberian region. An assessment of the quality indicators of potato varieties was carried out in comparison with the following zoned varieties: Red Scarlett, Nevsky and Tuleevsky. To obtain an early harvest (75 days after planting), the varieties Lomonosovsky (36 t/ha) and Reggi (39 t/ha) were recommended for the early ripening group. In the group of mid-early varieties, the variety Samba (35 t/ha) was noted; in the mid-season group, the varieties Fritella and Vympel were distinguished (early yield 32 t/ha). High productivity during harvesting in the early ripening group was noted in the varieties Lomonosovsky (42 t/ha) and Reggi (44 t/ha). The Samba variety (44 t/ha) stood out in the mid-early ripeness group. In the mid-season ripening group, the recommended variety is Gusar (46 t/ha), which exceeded the Tuleevsky standard by 4 t/ ha. Among the varieties of the early group of ripeness, high starch content was noted in the varieties Lomonosovsky (16.3%) and Reggae (17.4%). In the mid-early and mid-season groups, one variety was distinguished in each, Samba (14.4%) and Fritella (17.0%). In the early ripening group, the dry matter content of all varieties was higher than that of the Red Scarlett standard, in the mid-early group the highest indicator was observed in the Samba variety (22.9%). In the group of mid-season varieties, the samples Vympel (25.4%) and Fritella (25.8%) exceeded the standard. High field resistance to late blight (9 points) in the epiphytotic year (2017) was revealed in the varieties Gala, Nevsky, Gusar and Fritella.

Abstract:
Constructions that yield pseudorecursiveness in [I] (Int. J. Algebra Comput.6 (1996) 457–510) are extended in this article. Finitely based varieties of semigroups with increasingly strict expansions by additional unary operation symbols or individual constants are shown to have the pseudorecursive property: the equational theory is undecidable, but the subsets obtained by bounding the number of distinct variables are all recursive. The most stringent case considered here is the single unary operation or distinguished element. New techniques of stratified reducibility and interpretation via rewriting rules are employed to show the property inherits along a chain of theories. Pure semigroup varieties that are both finitely based and pseudorecursive will be discussed in a later paper.

With the participation of early-maturing varieties, a topcross scheme of crossings was performed (10×4); maternal varieties: Pamyati Azieva, Altayskaya 92, Obskaya 14, SURENTa-6, Adeline, SURENTa-3, Voronezhskaya 12, Tyumenskaya rannyaya, Tulun 15, Tyumenskaya 27; testers - Iren, Novosibirskaya 15, Latona, Tulunskaya 12. In 2007, the Pamyati Azieva and Iren had a more productive ear – 0.88 g, in the dry year of 2008 - SURENTa-6, Adeline and Tulun 15 (0.80-0.82). The following strongly react to drought: Voronezhskaya 12, Tyumenskaya rannyaya, Iren, Latona, Novosibirskaya 15 (0.49-0.64 g). The Pamyati Azieva and SURENTa-3 are distinguished by increased CCA. Varieties with multidirectional CCA are recommended for synthetic breeding. SCA is distinguished in: Tyumenskaya rannyaya, SURENTa-3, in better conditions – SURENTa-6, Adeline, Iren, Tulunskaya 12, which allows them to be used in recombination breeding. Varieties with low indicators of CCA and SCA - Altayskaya 92, Obskaya 14, Tulun 15, Tyumenskaya 27 and Latona, are ineffective in breeding for productivity. The heterosis effect on the trait was manifested in 15-20% of the combinations, more significant in arid conditions.

Abstract:
Three main versions of cognition-arousal theory are distinguished depending on how they interpret the theory’s basic postulate, that an emotion is a function of cognition and arousal: objectivist causal theories, attributional theories, and fusion theories. The objectivist causal and attributional theories each comprise a causal-functional and a part-whole version, and the fusion theory subsumes in particular a categorization and a perceptual integration version. In addition, the attributional version of cognition-arousal theory can be reinterpreted as a theory of emotion self-ascription. Although arousal may in fact not be necessary for emotions, a modified cognition-feeling theory that replaces arousal with intrinsically affective feelings, seems still viable. Arguments are presented why the objectivist causal-functional version of this theory should be preferred.

The article presents an assessment of the adaptability of introduced varieties of honeysuckle to the conditions of the Pre-Urals of Bashkortostan. The research was carried out at the primary variety study site of the Kushnarenkovsky breeding center of the BNIISKH UFIC RAS. Landing scheme 3.0´1.0 m. 7 varieties were selected as objects: varieties of selection of M.A. Lisavenko Research Institute of Horticulture - Zoluska, Galochka, Berel; varieties of YUUNIIPK - Chelyabinka, Chernichka; variety of Bakcharskaya experimental horticulture station - Bakcharskaya. As a control, the variety of the M. A. Lisavenko NIISS - Goluboe vereteno - was taken. The studies were conducted from 2016 to 2020. in accordance with the "Program and methodology of variety study of fruit, berry and nut crops". During the study, it was found out that all the studied varieties showed good winter hardiness. In 2017, damage to the apical buds of the winter desiccation type was observed in the varieties Chelyabinka and Zolushka by 23-25%. Dry conditions had a negative impact on productivity, leading to shedding of the ovary, a decrease in the weight of the fruit. The studied varieties differed among themselves in the degree of shedding. The control variety Goluboe vereteno is classified as highly crumbling, the weakly crumbling variety is Zolushka Chelyabinka, Bakcharskaya and the non - crumbling variety is Galochka, Chernichka and Berel. In the varieties Bakcharskaya, Berel and Goluboe vereteno, the extension of terminal buds was noted in the years of research. By weight of one berry, the following varieties were distinguished: Bakcharskaya (0.72 g), Galochka (0.75 g), Chernichka (0.81 g). The Chernichka (2.8 kg per bush) and Galochka (3.1 kg per bush) varieties were distinguished by high yield, on average, for 5 years. In general, the introduced varieties of honeysuckle show high adaptability in the natural and climatic conditions of the Pre-Urals of Bashkortostan.

Abstract:
To address the demand for natural fibers, developing new varieties that are resistant to abiotic stress is necessary. The present study was designed to investigate the physiological and biochemical traits of three varieties of C. capularis (Y49, Y38, and Y1) and four varieties C. olitorius (T8, W57, M33, M18) under low temperature to identify the cold-tolerant varieties and elucidate the mechanisms involved in enhancing cold tolerance. Research findings revealed that the varieties Y49 and M33 exhibited the highest chlorophyll and carotenoid content. Biochemical profiles revealed that varieties Y49 and M33 were found to be able to withstand low-temperature stress by accumulating different enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidants, such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), ascorbate peroxidase (APx), glutathione (GSH), and phenolics, which participated in reducing the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) caused by low temperature. Osmolytes compounds, such as total soluble sugar, significantly increased in Y49 and M33; and proline content decreased in all varieties except Y49 and M33 after low-temperature exposure. The rise in these osmolytes molecules can be a defense mechanism for the jute’s osmotic readjustment to reduce the oxidative damage induced by low temperature. Furthermore, PCA and hierarchical cluster analysis distinguished the seven varieties into three separate groups. Results confirmed that group I (Y49 and M33 varieties) were low-temperature tolerant, group II (M18, W57) were intermediate, whereas III groups (Y38, T8, and Y1) were low temperature susceptible. PCA also explained 88.36% of the variance of raw data and clearly distinguished three groups that are similar to the cluster heat map. The study thus confirmed the tolerance of selected varieties that might be an efficient adaptation strategy and utilized them for establishing breeding programs for cold tolerance.

Simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers were used to authenticate ramets of 11 Persian walnut (Juglans regia L.) varieties. All varieties and 28 of their ramets (n = 39) were genotyped with 17 SSR markers. The genetic profiles revealed two off-types: the ramets Serr 4 (S4) and Vina 1 (V1). SSR fingerprints individuating 11 walnut varieties were possible using 13 polymorphic SSRs that could be used in the future to identify clones of these varieties. Except for ‘Chandler’, each cultivar could be distinguished using a combination of two SSR loci. This result emphasizes the efficacy of the SSR markers in true-to-type validation of walnut orchards.

Abstract:
Germplasm identification is essential for plant breeding and conservation. In this study, we developed a new method, DT-PICS, for efficient and cost-effective SNP selection in germplasm identification. The method, based on the decision tree concept, could efficiently select the most informative SNPs for germplasm identification by recursively partitioning the dataset based on their overall high PIC values, instead of considering individual SNP features. This method reduces redundancy in SNP selection and enhances the efficiency and automation of the selection process. DT-PICS demonstrated significant advantages in both the training and testing datasets and exhibited good performance on independent prediction, which validates its effectiveness. Thirteen simplified SNP sets were extracted from 749,636 SNPs in 1135 Arabidopsis varieties resequencing datasets, including a total of 769 DT-PICS SNPs, with an average of 59 SNPs per set. Each simplified SNP set could distinguish between the 1135 Arabidopsis varieties. Simulations demonstrated that using a combination of two simplified SNP sets for identification can effectively increase the fault tolerance in independent validation. In the testing dataset, two potentially mislabeled varieties (ICE169 and Star-8) were identified. For 68 same-named varieties, the identification process achieved 94.97% accuracy and only 30 shared markers on average; for 12 different-named varieties, the germplasm to be tested could be effectively distinguished from 1,134 other varieties while grouping extremely similar varieties (Col-0) together, reflecting their actual genetic relatedness. The results suggest that the DT-PICS provides an efficient and accurate approach to SNP selection in germplasm identification and management, offering strong support for future plant breeding and conservation efforts.

Abstract:
To study bioactive compounds of the dried fig, nine varieties (3 dark and 6 light varieties) were analyzed for their phytochemical profile and antioxidant activities. The antioxidant activity was evaluated using four methods, including 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl radical, hydrogen peroxide, superoxide scavenging effects and phosphomolybdenum assay. The results showed that the fig varieties with a dark skin contain higher amounts of total phenolics, total flavonoïds, anthocyanins, flavonols and proanthocyanidins than the lighter varieties. Our results also revealed that the antioxidant activities of the dark varieties were markedly better than those of the light ones. High correlations were found between phytochemical contents and antioxidant activities. Principal component analysis (PCA) manifests 86.91 of cumulative variance which indicates that the fig varieties were well distinguished by their bioactive phytochemical contents and antioxidant activities. PCA plot confirms a net separation between the dark and light dried fig varieties.

Abstract:
Several Triticum species spread in cultivation in Sicily and neighboring regions over the centuries, which led to the establishment of a large genetic diversity. Many ancient varieties were widely cultivated until the beginning of the last century before being replaced by modern varieties. Recently, they have been reintroduced in cultivation in Sicily. Here, the genetic diversity of 115 and 11 accessions from Sicily and Calabria, respectively, belonging to Triticum species was evaluated using a high-density SNP array. Einkorn, emmer, and spelta wheat genotypes were used as outgroups for species and subspecies; five modern varieties of durum and bread wheat were used as references. A principal coordinates analysis (PCoA) and an unweighted pair group method with arithmetic mean (UPGMA) showed four distinct groups among Triticum species and T. turgidum subspecies. The population structure analysis distinguished five gene pools, among which three appeared private to the T. aestivum, T. turgidum subsp. Turgidum, and ‘Timilia’ group. The principal component analysis (PCA) displayed a bio-morphological trait relationship of a subset (110) of ancient wheat varieties and their wide variability within the T. turgidum subsp. durum subgroups. A discriminant analysis of principal components (DAPC) and phylogenetic analyses applied to the four durum wheat subgroups revealed that the improved varieties harbored a different gene pool compared to the most ancient varieties. The ‘Russello’ and ‘Russello Ibleo’ groups were distinguished; both displayed higher genetic variability compared to the ‘Timilia’ group accessions. This research represents a comprehensive approach to fingerprinting the old wheat Sicilian germplasm, which is useful in avoiding commercial fraud and sustaining the cultivation of landraces and ancient varieties.

Seventy varieties of rice, representing the breadth of the species Oryza sativa, were assayed with 10 rice restriction fragment length polymorphism markers. Polymorphism was detected for all probes and 58 of 70 varieties tested could be uniquely distinguished from one another by combining all probe – enzyme combinations. Within-population variation, usually in the form of homozygous variant alleles, was found for 26% of the varieties. Based on genetic distance calculations, the ratio of the genetic variation between versus within rice varieties was estimated to be approximately 12:1. A restriction fragment length polymorphism based dendrogram has also been constructed depicting genetic distances among rice varieties.Key words: Oryza sativa, rice, polymorphism, genetic variation, restriction fragment length polymorphism.

ABSTRACT Various chemical tests are being used to reveal chemical differences among the seeds or seedlings of different cultivars. Study to characterize and identify 24 tomato cultivars based on chemical test chemicals viz., Standard phenol test, Modified phenol test, NaOH test, KOH test and Seedling growth response to added chemicals reveled that, most of the cultivars studied were distinct from other cultivars. No single chemical test could distinguish all the varieties. However, distinguishable chemical characteristics were used to develop the keys for identification of each and every cultivar and all the cultivars were distinguished based on these identification keys.

Abstract:
The resistance of cherry, sweet cherry and pear varieties to bacterial canker was analyzed by using the method of arti- ficial contamination of unripe fruits. Two resistance groups were highlighted among the six analyzed cherry varieties: Uyfehertosh Fürthosh variety exercised the highest degree of resistance and Turgenevka exercised the lowest degree. Three groups of resistance were identified among the ten studied varieties of sweet cherries; the cultivar Lyubava Donetskaya turned out to be the most resistant, Gascinets proved to be the most affected. Four groups of resistance were distinguished among analyzed 14 pear varieties. The most resistant was Vilia variety and Kudesnitsa variety turned out to be the most affected. None of the examined crops varieties appears to be immune to bacterial canker. After artificial contamination of apples fruits (Belorusskoe sladkoe, Kovalenkovskoe and Nadzejny varieties) symptoms of the disease did not appear.

Abstract:
Relevance and methods. Currently, heterotic hybrids of shallots, which are a crossroads, are grown in large quantities in the republic, as a result of which there is genetic clogging that is harmful to the local gene pool. To stop this process, it is necessary to expand the assortment of shallots, which in different conditions of Azerbaijan gives a high yield of leaves, bulbs and seeds. The studies were conducted in 2016–2019 at the experimental site of the Absheron Experimental Base of the Genetic Resources Institute of ANAS. For onion and seed production, large bulbs were planted on the sunny side of the field on October 20–25 to a depth of 7 cm in loose soil. The size of the plots is 2.5 m2, the repetition was three times. The feeding area was 60×15 cm. 2 bulbs were planted in each nest. Plants were watered, depending on weather conditions, at least four times a month.Results. The most promising food shallots varieties for cultivation and seed growing in Absheron conditions are: Borchalinsky, Krasnodar G-729, Kuban, Shallot-Vansky. Compared to the standard Ismayillinsky local variety, the distinguished varieties had a number of advantages. Varieties Borchalinsky and Krasnodar G-729 were more precocious. Kuban and Shallot — Vansky varieties were distinguished by productivity, the yield of which exceeded the yield of the standard variety by more than three times. Almost the same weight of the bulb of the studied samples was 0.6–1.8 g higher than the weight of one bulb of the standard variety. Studies have shown that the average number of arrows in the standard variety and in the Krasnodar G-729 variety was less than in the Borchalinsky, Kuban, and Shallot — Vansky varieties. But the Krasnodar G-729 variety was distinguished by a large number of flowers in the inflorescence, due to which the seed yield from one plant and from the plot was significantly higher than that of other varieties. Based on a four-year study of the shallot collection, the most valuable samples for Absheron conditions were identified and selected agricultural practices, the use of which will produce highly resistant seeds.

Abstract:
This investigation focuses on participation and related investment patterns in job related non-formal education (NFE) in selected European countries. Broadening previous research formats of NFE are distinguished by investment including financial and time investments by employers, employees and public authorities. By this, company-sponsored and individual-financed NFE are distinguished sharply and cases with shared investment between employers and employees (co-financed NFE) and between employers, employees and public funding (co-financed pooled NFE) are accounted for, additionally. For explaining participation in NFE supply and demand models are referred to. Hypotheses on cross-country differences for investment in NFE refer to the Varieties-of-Capitalism approach and countries are selected representing different varieties of capitalism (Norway, Sweden, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Spain, France, UK). Analyses are based on data of the Adult Education Survey (AES) 2011/12.

Abstract:
Abstract. Cotton breeding in Bulgaria is mainly aimed at improving the earliness, productivity and fiber quality of modern varieties. The creation of new genetic diversity is one of the basic prerequisites for the success of breeding programs. The aim of the study was to evaluate cotton lines obtained by intraspecific and remote hybridization combined with backcross technology, with a view to their most effective usage in selection. Twenty-three lines were included in competitive variety trials conducted during the 2014-2017 period. The averaged results showed that lines 550, 639, 641, obtained by remote hybridization, appeared to be very promising. These three lines were distinguished by the best combination of productivity, fiber length and fiber lint percentage, and by these three indicators they exceeded the standard variety Chirpan-539. A new cotton variety Aida (No. 457) was approved, which in seed cotton yield and fiber yield, and technological fiber properties surpassed the standard varieties Chirpan-539 for earliness and productivity and Avangard-264 for fiber quality. The candidate variety 535 continued the state variety testing. Two new candidate cotton varieties No. 550 and No. 553 were released. In the state variety testing the three candidate varieties confirmed their qualities. The obtained lines, distinguished by one trait or by a complex of qualities, enriched the gene pool of Bulgarian cotton.
