Abstract:

Permettre aux personnes souhaitant se professionnaliser, de vivre différentes situations, à différents moments, tantôt de formation, tantôt d’exercice professionnel, est une finalité recherchée dans la conception-organisation des dispositifs de formation professionnelle. Ainsi, ces personnes, « dialoguant » avec les différentes situations, à différents moments, font du lien, du sens et construisent des apprentissages professionnels. Ce dialogue ou cette rythmique « formation/expérience » ne caractérisent-ils que le mouvement alternant opéré par ces personnes se professionnalisant à l’interne d’un dispositif de formation professionnelle? Ne peut-on pas considérer, observer, explorer ce dialogue, cette rythmique, sur des temporalités plus longues, au-delà de la durée des dispositifs de formation, à l’échelle, par exemple, d’une carrière? L’article ci-dessous tente de restituer l’exploration (le traitement) de quatre entretiens compréhensifs/biographiques de chefs d’établissements privés français du 1er degré à partir d’un cadre d’analyse que nous avons appelé « régimes de temporalités formatives et professionnelles ». S’inscrivant dans un travail de thèse visant à mettre en évidence les dynamiques professionnelles de ce groupe professionnel émergent, l’analyse de ce dialogue, de cette rythmique « formation/expérience » participe à la typification d’entretiens correspondant à un « monde socioprofessionnel », à une « forme identitaire » spécifique de ces chefs d’établissements.

Abstract:

L’objectif de cet article est de saisir comment différents points de vue analytiques peuvent contribuer à saisir le mouvement de rapprochement entre les champs de l’éducation et de l’économie. Pour ce faire, nous examinons ce rapprochement par l’institutionnalisation d’une de ces modalités particulières, la formation en alternance dans le système éducatif. Cette dernière consiste à offrir un programme de formation en alternant, selon différentes modalités de gestion du temps, des activités d’apprentissage en établissement scolaire et des activités en entreprise. La mise en oeuvre de ce dispositif suppose donc qu’une partie de la formation soit donnée en entreprise, ce qui suppose une collaboration entre ces dernières et les institutions d’enseignement à plusieurs niveaux comme l’accueil des étudiants ou la détermination du contenu du stage. Dans un premier temps, nous soulignons l’éclairage apporté par l’analyse structurelle et historique. Dans un second temps, l’attention est portée sur le travail social des acteurs dans la construction du mouvement. Ce travail s’exerce à différents niveaux : politique et institutionnel, d’une part, et, d’autre part, organisationnel et opérationnel quand il s’agit d’examiner la mise en oeuvre de projet d’alternance. Globalement, nous soulignons que chaque niveau d’analyse fournit des informations différentes et complémentaires quant à l’analyse des politiques éducatives.

Dans cette contribution, les auteurs mobilisent les concepts centraux d’une théorie des dispositifs pour s’intéresser à la formation en alternance. Ils insistent sur sa nature ensemblière à travers laquelle des dispositions idéelles, fonctionnelles et actorielles font système. Ils peuvent ainsi contribuer à une réflexion capable de rendre intelligibles les processus fondamentaux dont est porteur ce type de formations. L’alternance devient ici une propriété émergente en relation avec certains vécus en formation, et non forcément la caractéristiquea priorid’un dispositif. Dans cet article, ils revisitent tout d’abord la notion de dispositif. Ensuite, ils posent les bases d’un modèle de compréhension des dispositifs de formation, ce qui leur permet, enfin, de revenir à la spécificité des dispositifs de formation alternée et d’illustrer empiriquement leur propos avec deux études de cas issues de l’enseignement universitaire français.

La problématique du transfert de connaissances enseignées vers les situations de travail est en général peu prise en compte dans les formations en alternance. La plupart des dispositifs pédagogiques existants reportent plus ou moins implicitement la responsabilité du transfert sur chaque apprenant. Pourtant, de nombreux travaux de recherche montrent depuis longtemps qu’il s’agit d’un processus très difficile pour des individus isolés. L’hypothèse de départ du travail présenté dans cet article est qu’il est nécessaire d’organiser des activités collectives instrumentées pour aider les apprenants à transférer les connaissances enseignées en situation de travail. Dans cette perspective, nous rendons compte d’une démarche de conception et d’intégration d’un outil d’aide au transfert de connaissances au sein d’une formation supérieure en alternance, réalisée dans le cadre d’un travail de doctorat. Le processus de conception, réalisé en collaboration avec les formateurs, est détaillé. Nous présentons également les résultats de l’expérimentation de ce nouvel outil en situation par quelques tuteurs et alternants. Cette démarche a conduit à réorganiser le dispositif de suivi des apprentis en situation de travail, avec notamment un lien plus étroit entre les différents acteurs du suivi des apprenants.

Les dispositifs de formation en alternance d’enseignants proposent fréquemment un accompagnement réflexif pour soutenir l’apprentissage et favoriser la professionnalisation. Cette fonction est le plus souvent assumée par des formateurs de l’institution et/ou des formateurs de terrain qui se retrouvent ainsi à enseigner des contenus, certifier certaines compétences et accompagner des étudiants dans l’analyse ou l’exercice de leurs pratiques.Ces différents rôles que doivent jouer les formateurs peuvent créer des champs de tensions. En effet, si les assumer en parallèle semble possible du point de vue de l’ingénierie et de l’activité des formateurs, que vivent les personnes en formation dans de tels dispositifs ? C’est le point d’entrée de cette étude de cas, une situation difficile d’accompagnement que nous questionnons par une analyse stratégique et systémique (Crozier & Friedberg, 1977). Cette recherche met en évidence des axes de réflexion pouvant être utiles aux concepteurs de tels dispositifs de même qu’aux acteurs impliqués dans ceux-ci : quels sont les buts visés par le dispositif lui-même, les fonctions et objets de l’évaluation, la répartition des différents rôles de l’évaluation entre les acteurs et le mode d’attribution des accompagnateurs ?

Cette contribution s’appuie sur une recherche exploratoire qui a visé à analyser les processus de construction de l’identité professionnelle dans lesquels s’engagent de jeunes étudiants se formant en alternance dans le cadre d’un dispositif universitaire de formation de formateurs. Le plan empirique de l’analyse porte sur un corpus de quinze « portfolios de développement professionnel » rédigés par ces étudiants. L’analyse de ces écrits met en évidence que leur impact formateur se fonde sur une reprise, en contexte universitaire, de l’expérience de stage réalisée. L’alternance correspond ainsi à deux déplacements par rapport à l’histoire de chaque étudiant : le stage en lui-même, puis la confrontation aux savoirs formalisés, permise par le portfolio. L’objectif de cet article est double : chercher à comprendre sur quelles composantes des processus du développement professionnel des étudiants l’accompagnement à l’écriture est susceptible d’influer en contexte universitaire et, au-delà, dégager des pistes dans le domaine de l’accompagnement au regard de ses aspects professionnalisants et formatifs dans les dispositifs par alternance.

Même si plusieurs réformes ont été mises en place ces dernières années, la professionnalisation de l’université en Espagne est souvent remise en question dans des rapports d’expertise internationale. Pourtant, dans ce même contexte, les formations infirmières se distinguent par une longue tradition de coopération avec le monde professionnel, d’orientation pratique des curriculums et d’ouverture vers une forme d’alternance. En fondant notre analyse sur le principe d’une distinction entre une offre de formation et ses usages effectifs, nous nous sommes posé la question des effets de ces dispositifs sur le développement professionnel d’étudiants infirmiers. À partir d’une recherche collaborative menée en Espagne dans une faculté en sciences infirmières, nous avons mis en évidence les dynamiques professionnalisantes induites par un dispositif. Au-delà de l’influence de variables contextuelles, ces conjectures éclairent les conceptions que l’on peut avoir de l’objet « formation en alternance ».

Dans cette contribution, les auteurs étudient la propriété d’« accompagnabilité ». Ils la définissent comme la propension des dispositifs de formation en alternance à distribuer l’activité d’accompagnement, mais aussi comme celle des usagers à la redistribuer, à accompagner, à se faire accompagner, à s’accompagner soi-même. Pour étudier cette propriété dans sa diversité, ils ont d’abord identifié des logiques d’intervention différentes qu’ils nomment « spéculative », « normative » et « dialogique ». La logique d’intervention dialogique est plus spécifiquement étudiée, avec la collaboration de l’accompagnante qui a servi à la modéliser. Celle-ci revisite elle-même sa pratique avec l’outillage conceptuel et le matériau empirique issus de la recherche. La dernière partie du texte est conclusive. Elle porte sur les enseignements, les insuffisances et les perspectives de la démarche de recherche.

Les travaux relatifs à l’analyse du fonctionnement réel de l’alternance dans les formations professionnelles rendent compte d’un grand écart avec le modèle prescriptif de celle-ci qui est qualifié de modèle institutionnel et organisationnel de l’alternance. En rupture avec ce modèle de la coordination technique en centre de formation-entreprise, il est fait l’hypothèse que c’est d’abord l’alternant qui produit le travail du lien. Les résultats d’une recherche-action portant sur l’expérimentation d’un dispositif de formation conçu pour soutenir ce travail du lien sont présentés et mis en regard avec l’hypothèse de départ. Ce travail du lien est assimilé à une activité de reliance de l’alternant. Le dispositif de formation construit autour des apports du groupe-classe et de la mobilisation de l’engagement des « alternants » exerce une dynamique typique de ce que l’on a appelé l’acteur réseau.

Notre recherche porte sur la confrontation entre affirmations et pratiques de supervision d’étudiants bacheliers instituteurs primaires en cours de stage, dans un dispositif en alternance à visée réflexive. Nous avons mené une double récolte d’informations, méthode qui nous apparaît complémentaire. Nous dégageons de ces entretiens et observations une appropriation effective du curriculum par chaque superviseur, mais également une assez forte variabilité des pratiques, en particulier des stratégies principalement mises en oeuvre (Paquay, 2007; Coen, 2004; Paul, 2004; Vial et Caparros-Mencacci, 2007). Différents éléments amènent à comprendre cette variabilité. Des rencontres entre superviseurs permettraient d’augmenter la cohérence. Néanmoins, nous considérons comme légitimes des pratiques différentes dès lors qu’elles sont adaptatives en fonction du bénéficiaire et de ses besoins. Notons que le dispositif analysé ici constitue une partie d’un dispositif plus global destiné à développer la pratique réflexive et, de ce fait, le passage d’un niveau de régulation de l’action vers un niveau de résolution de problèmes, voire de développement professionnel (De Cock et al., 2006) : il apparaît que le premier niveau est rarement dépassé, mais que cette étape permettra dans la suite du dispositif d’augmenter les chances de progression.

Les partenariats en éducation se sont développés en milieu scolaire dans les années 1990 afin d’apporter des réponses à de nouveaux problèmes socio-éducatifs. Néanmoins, pour les pédagogues de la formation en alternance, ils constituent depuis longtemps la condition sine qua non d’une alternance réellement éducative et professionnalisante. En ayant recours à la sociologie de la traduction et à la notion de reliance, nous aimerions nuancer ce discours. À partir de l’analyse de deux dispositifs alternés universitaires, nous mettons en évidence qu’un partenariat quasi fusionnel avec un milieu professionnel ne garantit pas forcément un développement professionnel harmonieux, et que l’absence de partenariat n’est pas toujours le synonyme d’une absence de professionnalisation.

A small prototype of a 5-level single-phase full H-bridge inverter for ocean current applications is presented. The inverter was designed applying level-shift control in pulse-width modulation (LS-PWM), and experimental tests were conducted using a variety of modulation subschemes, including in-phase disposition (IPD), alternate-phase opposition–disposition (APOD), and phase opposition–disposition (POD). The test results were examined for harmonic content and voltage total harmonic distortion (THDV). The results suggest that the inverter presents a viable solution with significant potential for the development of a larger three-phase inverter model that can be used to connect ocean current power sources to the electrical grid.

AbstractThe disposition of Hebrews is analyzed in terms of literary structure and significant proportions. The discussion of differing proposals for the letter leads to an outline of five main parts. Two christological sections (1:1–2:18; 7:1–10:18) alternate with two hortatory ones calling to faith (3:1–6:20; 10:19–12:29), then follow general exhortations (13:1–21), finally an epistolary appendix (13:22–25). The stichos of 15 syllables is introduced as the ancient standard measure of Greek prose. Counting stichoi in Hebrews reveals remarkable proportions seemingly due to intentional disposing. The letter’s first main part, for example, is half the size of the second one, and both together half the size of the whole. All results of the structural and stichometrical analysis are then condensed in a tabular outline.

In this paper, a new 9-level inverter employing switched capacitor technique is proposed. Three bidirectional voltage blocking switches are employed to connect the four H-bridges and to incorporate the three switched capacitors. The proposed multilevel inverter (MLI) circuit outputs a 9-level waveform with a maximum boosting factor of four. Unlike the already established switched capacitor based MLI consisting of two stages the proposed MLI is single stage inverter. The switches in the proposed MLI is subjected to a low value of voltage stress equal to Vdc. The proposed MLI is further analyzed by using various multicarrier sinusoidal PWM technique such as Phase Shift PWM (PSPWM), Phase disposition PWM (PDPWM), Phase Opposition Disposition PWM (PODPWM), Alternate Phase Opposition Disposition PWM (APODPWM) and Variable Frequency PWM (VFPWM).

This paper proposes a binary DC source reduced switch 7-level inverter. Binary DC source reduced switch inverter is triggered by the Unipolar PWM strategy having sinusoidal and trapezoidal reference with triangular carriers. These Pulse Width Modulating (PWM) strategies include Phase Disposition (PD), Alternate Phase Opposition Disposition (APOD), Carrier Overlapping (CO). Performance factors like Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), VRMS (fundamental) and crest factor are evaluated for various modulation indices. Simulations were performed using MATLAB-SIMULINK. It is observed that UPDPWM strategy with trapezoidal reference provides output with relatively low distortion and UCOPWM strategy with trapezoidal reference provides relatively higher fundamental RMS output voltage.

Cette recherche, composée de deux études, vise à comprendre le développement de l’activité d’enseignants d’éducation physique et sportive (EPS) à partir de situations coopératives entre élèves. Les résultats issus de soixante-trois verbatim d’entretiens d’auto-confrontation montrent que les enseignants perçoivent dans les dispositifs coopératifs entre élèves un moyen privilégié de prévenir et gérer les comportements perturbateurs, d’améliorer l’engagement et l’entraide et de favoriser la cohésion de classe. Dès lors, l’enseignement à visée coopérative devient non seulement un but de former des citoyens étant capables de vivre ensemble, mais aussi un moyen de favoriser l’apprentissage de tous les élèves. Les résultats ouvrent ainsi des pistes concernant les dispositifs actuels de la formation par alternance des enseignants d’EPS, notamment par une préconisation de mesures coopératives concrètes dans la formation, afin que celles-ci soient un levier et non un frein dans l’enseignement de l’EPS.

This paper presents the comparison of various multicarrier Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques for the Cascaded Hybrid Multi Level Inverter (CHBMLI). Due to switch combination redundancies, there are certain degrees of freedom to generate the five level AC output voltage. This paper presents the use of Control Freedom Degree (CFD) combination. The effectiveness of the PWM strategies developed using CFD are demonstrated by simulation and experimentation. The simulation results indicate that the chosen five level inverter triggered by the developed Phase Disposition(PD), Phase Opposition and Disposition(POD), Alternate Phase Opposition and Disposition (APOD), Carrier Overlapping (CO), Phase Shift (PS) and Variable Frequency (VF) PWM strategies developed are implemented in real time using FPGA. The simulation and experimental outputs closely match with each other validating the strategies presented.

Abstract:

The work in this paper presents the performance analysis of the reduced component count converter which is the 5-Level Active Neutral Point Converter (5LANPC). This 5-level converter has been configured by stacking the traditional 3-Level Neutral Point Converter with the Flying Capacitor converter. Two types of control algorithms were considered and compared to explore the performance of the 5LANPC. The first algorithm was based on the Phase-Disposition-Pulse Width Modulation (PD-PWM), while the second one was based on the Alternate Phase Opposition Disposition-Pulse Width Modulation (APOD-PWM). These algorithms are used to determine the required voltage level and according to the required level the state of the switches is selected through a simplified voltage balance algorithm. This voltage balance algorithm deals with the redundant switching states to maintain the voltages of the 5LANPC capacitors at a specified level. The comparison between these two modulation strategies was performed by simulation based on MATLAB/Simulink package. Simulation results showed compelling outcomes involving the two techniques concerning the voltage and current characteristics, as well as the equilibrium in the capacitor voltages. By comparing the simulation results, it was found that the performance of the system is relatively better using the PD-PWM strategy.

Elle se manifeste notamment par la présence de plus en plus marquée de stages dans la formation universitaire. C’est d’ailleurs par l’introduction d’une formation pratique au cursus traditionnel plutôt théorique que la professionnalisation s’opère. Les programmes en santé, malgré une culture de stage plus répandue que d’autres secteurs, sont de plus en plus interpellés dans le contexte de la professionnalisation. Objectifs : Nous avons voulu dégager les traces de la professionnalisation à travers un regard systématique sur les caractéristiques des stages cliniques dans le domaine de la santé, tels que rapportés dans les écrits scientifiques. Méthodes : Nous avons dans un premier temps mené une étude de la portée pour cartographier les modalités professionnalisantes des dix-sept écrits retenus sur les stages cliniques. Dans un deuxième temps, nous avons analysé et contrasté les données de ces articles en nous appuyant sur un cadre conceptuel qui conçoit la professionnalisation comme étant la conjoncture entre des apprentissages relatifs aux compétences, à la culture et à l’identité professionnelles. Résultats et discussion : Nos analyses révèlent que l’aspect intégratif, tant recherché dans un dispositif d’alternance, est peu développé dans les écrits. Sur le plan de la professionnalisation, la dimension compétence est fortement soulignée dans les stages comme dans l’ensemble des programmes étudiés, alors que les autres dimensions, culturelle et identitaire, sont peu évoquées. Les modalités d’encadrement et les traces de la professionnalisation des individus dans les stages sont discutées à la lumière des conditions intégratives d’une offre de formation en alternance.

This work proposes a comparative analysis of sinusoidal and third harmonic injected reference signal modulation accompany with level-shifted PWM technique named as phase disposition (LSPD), phase opposition disposition (LSPOD), and alternate phase opposition disposition (LSAPOD) and phase-shifted PWM technique. Switching pulses from both reference signal and PWM technique have been fed into three phase eleven level cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter (CHBMLI) fed on a resistive-inductive load with the modulation depth (MD) set to varied from 80% to 100%. For voltage source inverter, total harmonic distortion (THD) content is critical and must be within the allowable range. To prove the feasibility of the reference signal with carrier signal schemes, the entire simulation of the modulation techniques is established and conducted via the Simulink environment. According to the analyzed result, the performance is acceptable in terms of %THDV and %THDI values. Simulation analysis also indicates, at full modulation depth, due to higher fundamental output voltage component produces via the THIPWM modulation technique compared to the SPWM technique, this causes higher %THDV value.

The performance of a Half Bridge (HB) Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) for D-STATCOM application is studied in this article. For the control of MMC switches, the Carrier-Based (CB) Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) scheme has been selected as the appropriate method. There are two types of CB PWM schemes such as phase shift and level shift. Phase Disposition (PD), Phase Opposition Disposition (POD), and Alternate Phase Opposite Disposition (APOD) are the three different types of PWM that are used in level shifts. The PD CB PWM is projected in this work due to its simplicity and accuracy. The conventional PI Controller (PIC) has its disadvantages, including that it is time-consuming and comes with complexity in the estimation of gain values. Hence, the Cuttlefish Optimization Scheme (COS) is proposed for the online tuning of the PI gain values. The verification of performance parameters, including active power, reactive power, DC voltage balance, and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), is effectively conducted using the COS method and subsequently compared with the conventional PIC. The suggested research is executed using the Matlab/Simulink software package.

Introduction: Delay of hospital admission until completion of assessment by consultants is a major contributor to emergency department (ED) crowding. We measured emergency physicians’ (EP) ability to predict patient admission, and estimated potential time saved if EPs could request a bed at the time of consultation. Methods: This is a prospective cohort study in a tertiary care center over 4 months using a convenience sample of ED patients requiring consultation. We consecutively recruited patients from purposefully selected shifts to balance day of the week and time of day. We excluded patients younger than 18 years or those likely to be admitted (traumas, strokes, STEMI codes, and CTAS1). We asked EPs to predict patient disposition (admission or alternate disposition) just before consultation. We defined admission as: admission to any service, admission within 48 hours of ED discharge, patients held overnight without bed request, or if bed request was delayed by 12 or more hours, and alternate disposition as any other disposition. We present EP prediction test characteristics using sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) with 95% confidence intervals (CI). The potential time saved was calculated from consultation to bed request for admitted patients. Results: Characteristics for the 454 included patients were: mean age 60.1 years, 48.4% male, 46.9% evening presentation, 69.4% were admitted (most commonly by Internal Medicine 26.9%), and median consult to bed request time was 3.5 hours (interquartile range 2.0 – 5.3 hours). Overall EP prediction sensitivity, specificity, PPV and NPV were 90.5% (95%CI 86.7-93.5), 84.2% (95%CI 77.0-89.8), 92.8% (95%CI 89.8-95.0) and 79.6% (95%CI 73.4-84.7) respectively. In other words, EPs correctly predicted 92.8% of patient admissions. The PPV for Internal Medicine was 95.7% (95%CI 89.7-98.4) and ranged from 78.9% (95%CI 53.9-93.0) for Psychiatry to 100% (95%CI 78.1-100) for Family Medicine. A total of 1113.5 hours of ED stretcher time (37.1 hours per shift) could have been saved if EPs initiated a concurrent bed request at time of consultation. Conclusion: EPs correctly predicted 92.8% of patient admissions across a broad field of disciplines. We estimate 1113.5 hours of ED stretcher time could have been saved over the study period if EPs triggered an inpatient bed request at the time of consultation, rather than waiting for the consultants’ disposition decision.

Objetivo Investigar variações nas habilidades motoras da fala em adultos com e sem gagueira, utilizando o dispositivo de alteração do feedback auditivo SpeechEasy®. Métodos Participaram 20 adultos, dez com gagueira (nove do gênero masculino e um do feminino – média 30,9 anos) e dez controles fluentes (nove do gênero masculino e um do feminino – média 25,2 anos). O estudo comparou o desempenho dos participantes em quatro tarefas: fala espontânea, diadococinesia alternada, diadococinesia sequencial e emissão de frase alvo, com e sem o dispositivo. Os aspectos analisados acusticamente foram: (1) tarefas de diadococinesia: duração das sílabas, período médio entre as sílabas, pico de intensidade e taxa de diadococinesia; (2) tarefa de emissão da frase alvo: tempo de reação, duração do voice onset time, duração total da emissão, frequência fundamental e intensidade. Resultados Tanto na comparação intragrupos quanto intergrupos, apenas a tarefa de fala espontânea apresentou diferenças significativas. Nesta tarefa, o uso do SpeechEasy® resultou em melhora significativa da fluência de fala, medida pela porcentagem de sílabas gaguejadas, para o grupo com gagueira. Para o grupo fluente, o dispositivo produziu o efeito oposto (aumento significativo na frequência de rupturas gagas com o dispositivo). Os resultados encontrados quanto aos aspectos acústicos das tarefas de diadococinesia e emissão da frase alvo não indicaram diferença significativa nas comparações intragrupos e intergrupos. Conclusão Os resultados indicaram que o uso do SpeechEasy® melhorou a fluência dos participantes com gagueira, sem parecer interferir na naturalidade de fala.

For high power applications Multilevel Inverter (MLI) is extensively used. The major advantages of MLI are good power quality, low switching losses and maintenance of the desired voltage. In this work, the three phase cascaded multi level inverter is analyzed under various modulation techniques that include Sub-Harmonic Pulse Width Modulation (SHPWM) i.e. Phase Disposition (PD) strategy, Phase Opposition Disposition (POD) strategy, Alternate Phase Opposition Disposition (APOD) strategy, hybrid strategy (PD and PS) and Phase Shift (PS) strategy. The study will help to choose those techniques with reduced harmonics for the chosen three phase cascaded MLI with R-L load. The Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), VRMS (fundamental), crest factor and form factor are evaluated for various modulation indices at two different switching frequencies (3.15KHz and 6 KHz). Simulation is performed using MATLAB-SIMULINK. It is observed that HYBRID PWM and PSPWM methods provide output with relatively low distortion for low and high switching frequencies. PODPWM and PSPWM are found to perform better since they provide relatively higher fundamental RMS output voltage for 6 KHz and 3.15 KHz switching frequencies. The experimental result shows PSPWM provide output with low distortion and HYBRID PWM provide output with higher fundamental RMS voltage for fc=3.15KHz. The experimental results were obtained only for fc=3.15KHz.

Les résultats montrent que les stagiaires en EPS vivent des situations émotionnellement marquantes qui favorisent surtout un développement par la maîtrise de nouvelles opérations. The popularity of multilevel inverters have increasing over the years in various applications without use of a transformer and has many benefits. This work presents the performance and comparative analysis of single phase diode clamped multilevel inverter and a hybrid inverter with reduced number of components. As there are some drawbacks of diode clamped multilevel inverter such as requiring higher number of components, PWM control method is complex and capacitor voltage balancing problem, an implementation of hybrid inverter that requires fewer components and less carrier signals when compared to conventional multilevel inverters is discussed. The performance of single phase diode clamped multilevel inverter and hybrid multilevel inverter for seven, nine and eleven levels is performed using phase disposition, alternate phase opposition disposition sinusoidal pulse width modulation techniques. Both the multilevel inverter are implemented for the above mentioned multicarrier based Pulse Width Modulation methods for R and R-L loads. The total harmonic distortion is evaluated at various modulation indices. The analysis of the multilevel inverters is done by simulation in matlab / simulink environment.

The hybrid multilevel inverter has superior features over diode clamped multilevel inverters and is more efficient since the positive levels of the inverter that are generated by high frequency switches (level generation part), are reversed by low frequency switches (polarity generation part) when the voltage polarity is required to be changed for negative polarity. Therefore, the overall cost and complexity of the hybrid inverter are greatly reduced particularly for higher inverter output voltage levels. Simulation is performed for three phase eleven level diode clamped multilevel inverter and hybrid multilevel inverter using MATLAB/Simulink for induction motor load and the total harmonic distortion is evaluated at different load torques.

The multilevel inverters are very popular in high power high voltage applications. However the multilevel inverters has some demerits such as requiring higher number of components, PWM control method is complex and capacitor voltage balancing problem. The hybrid multilevel inverter presented in this paper has superior characteristics over conventional multilevel inverters. The hybrid multilevel inverter employs fewer components and less carrier signals when compared to conventional multilevel inverters. It consists of level generation and polarity generation stages which involves high frequency and low frequency switches. The complexity and overall cost for higher output voltage levels are greatly reduced. Implementation of single phase 7-level, 9-level and 11-level hybrid multilevel inverter has been performed using sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) strategies i.e., phase disposition (PD), alternate phase opposition disposition (APOD) and carrier overlapping (CO). Also the three techniques are compared in terms of total harmonic distortion (THD) for various modulation indices and observed to be greatly improved when compared to conventional topologies. The performance of single phase eleven level hybrid inverter is analyzed for different loads. Simulation is performed using MATLAB/ Simulink.

Abstract:

Introduction: The majority of syncope patients transported to the emergency department (ED) by emergency medical services (EMS) are low-risk with very few suffering serious adverse events (SAE) within 30-days and over 50% are diagnosed with vasovagal syncope. These patients can potentially be diverted by EMS to alternate pathways of care (primary care or syncope clinic) if appropriately identified. We sought to identify high-risk factors associated with SAE within 30-days of ED disposition as a step towards developing an EMS clinical decision tool. Methods: We prospectively enrolled adult syncope patients who were transported to 5 academic EDs by EMS. We collected standardized variables at EMS presentation from history, clinical examination and investigations including ECG and ED disposition. We also collected concerning symptoms identified and EMS interventions. Adjudicated SAE included death, myocardial infarction, arrhythmia, structural heart disease, pulmonary embolism, hemorrhage and procedural interventions. Multivariable logistic regression was used for analysis. Results: 990 adult syncope patients (mean age 58.9 years, 54.9% females and 16.8% hospitalized) were enrolled with 137 (14.6%) patients suffering SAE within 30-days of ED disposition. Of 42 candidate predictors, we identified 5 predictors that were significantly associated with SAE on multivariable analysis: ECG abnormalities [OR=1.77; 95%CI 1.36-2.48] (non-sinus rhythm, high degree atrioventricular block, left bundle branch block, ST-T wave changes or Q waves), cardiac history [OR=2.87; 95%CI 1.86-4.41] (valvular or coronary heart disease, cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias or device insertions), EMS interventions or concerning symptoms [OR=4.88; 95%CI 3.13- 7.62], age >50 years [OR=3.18; 95%CI 1.68-6.02], any abnormal vital signs [OR=1.58; 95%CI 1.03-2.42] (any EMS systolic blood pressure >180 or <100 mmHg, heart rate <50 or >100/minute, respiratory rate >25/minute, oxygen saturation <91%). [C-statistic: 0.81; Hosmer Lemeshow p=0.30]. Conclusion: We identified high-risk factors that are associated with 30-day SAE among syncope patients transported to the ED by EMS. This will aid in the development of a clinical decision tool to identify low-risk patients for diversion to alternate pathways of care.

István Nánay’s latest book Open-minded Theatre was published in 2023, on the 50th anniversary of the emblematic performance of the Hungarian neo-avant-garde (Petőfi-rock), from the time when the Communist State tried to take control of the art scene. In the seventies a group of students wanted to dream up an alternate reality for their applied theatre at the Attila József University of Sciences in Szeged, under the direction of István Paál. Nánay was a critical eyewitness of this period, and in his book, through documents and performance-reconstructions, he reflects on the not only aesthetical but dispositive-critical importance of this chapter in Hungary’s history of youth theatre.

Basée sur deux études complémentaires, cette recherche vise à comprendre le développement de l’activité d’enseignants novices d’éducation physique et sportive à partir de situations émotionnellement marquantes, provenant d’élèves à besoins spécifiques. Les résultats montrent que les enseignants vivent de nombreuses situations émotionnellement marquantes, en majorité à valence négative, et induisant, dans une proportion importante, une émotion de surprise. Une partie de ces situations est en lien avec les actions d’élèves à besoins spécifiques. L’effet de la majorité des situations vécues en lien avec l’inclusion d’élèves à besoins spécifiques est positif sur la suite de l’activité des novices, même si sur le moment un sentiment d’impuissance se dessine parfois. Les résultats ouvrent aussi des pistes concernant les dispositifs actuels de la formation par alternance des enseignants d’EPS, notamment par une prise en compte de la dimension subjective du métier dans la formation, particulièrement lorsque des élèves à besoins spécifiques sont impliqués.

This study aims to evaluate the religious and the alternate discourses on women’s political rights in Pakistan; such debates were heightened and intensified as a result of General Zia-ul-Haq’s Islamization vision and policies implemented between 1977 to 1988. Zia-ul-Haq’s Islamization is argued to have polarized women’s participation in politics and challenged the standing of feminist groups, Islamic feminists, and secularists, which made Islam and women’s political participation the subject of debates that are still relevant in the case of Pakistan. The paper argues that Pakistani state’s Islamic disposition in general and Zia-ul-Haq’s Islamization in particular provoked religious conservatism and promoted gender-based discrimination that deeply affected women’s political participation. This study seeks to reconcile the different perspectives of Islamic and secular feminism for realizing the goals of effective participation of women in politics. The paper uses a qualitative research method concentrating on thematic analysis, which employs for identifying and analyzing patterns or themes within qualitative data analysis approaches. The findings suggest that in the case of women rights, Islamic feminism and secular feminism are compatible and complementary, and a synthesis of both is imperative to realize the effective participation of women in politics.

This article explores the 2015 film Carol, reading the two protagonists’ mutual coming-into-focus as emblematic of the film’s calling-into-focus cinematic representations of love, motherhood and artistry in relation to the intersections of queer and gendered challenges. In observing these challenges, the cinematic camera adopts the disposition of Therese, a ‘strange girl’, as Carol calls her, who develops a loving inquisitiveness that drives her towards romantic and artistic discovery. The film depicts and itself utilizes what I call a ‘strange girl gaze’, which, marked by a gentle curiosity and a willingness to listen to alternate perspectives, counters the domineering gaze of heteropatriarchal surveillance. Using a queer understanding of hope, my article considers the cinematic potential of this new way of looking, which attends to socially peripheral individuals, including their painful pasts, with innocence, open-mindedness and compassion.

Ego-depletion theory postulates the existence of a mental resource that is necessary for self-regulation. If the resource is diminished by a task involving self-control, achievement in subsequent self-control tasks will be impaired. Three experiments examined whether ego-depletion limits people’s intentionality regarding risk behavior (i.e., choosing an option that has a certain probability of resulting in an adverse outcome). It is assumed that people operating under ego-depletion lack the self-control to deal with these possibly negative outcomes and will, therefore, be prone to avoid risky alternatives, if the decision requires certain levels of responsibility and information processing (i.e., people will choose safe options in an investment scenario with actual pay-offs according to expected values). Results support the assumption that people become risk averse under ego-depletion even when controlling for the alternate assumption that ego-depletion strengthens an existing individual disposition toward risk taking.
