Abstract:
Abstract This community service activity focuses on the 2020 Pilkada for People with Disabilities in East Karawang District. The purpose of this service is for persons with disabilities to know and get information related to the implementation of the 2020 Karawang Regency Pilkada. The results of the implementation of this service activity are knowing that people with disabilities who are still marginalized, with the socialization carried out providing education for persons with disabilities to be willing and not to be ashamed to participate in giving their voting rights in the 2020 Karawang elections, increasing the motivation of some people with disabilities who have never been want to come to enlightened polling stations to intend to come to give their political rights on election day. Conclusion on the implementation of this service activity is still low attention given by the government and election organizers who embrace all levels of society in terms of political participation, never directly socialization activities to the grassroots level, so this activity is felt to be very helpful for the role of the government and election administrators who only conducted one-time election dissemination for persons with disabilities only through the community of persons with disabilities. It is hoped that the impact of this activity is given motivation to persons with disabilities who have not participated so far, they are eager to come to the polling station to give their voting rights. With direct visits, persons with disabilities feel that their existence is significant in community life.

The purposes of this study are to knows the form of affirmative policies of local goverment to facilitating of work to disabilities, to knows how the respons of disabilities, and to knows what the obstacles to implementation those policies. Abstract:
The recruitment of civil servant for persons with disabilities by the Provincial Government of South Kalimantan is one of the manifestations of Law No. 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities. The law changes the paradigm that makes persons with disabilities as dignified humans who have the same rights as other citizens, including the right to decent work. Affirmation policies have been given to persons with disabilities, but in practice, there are still people with disabilities who feel discriminated against. This condition needs to be evaluated. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of civil servant recruitment for persons with disabilities and its compliance with existing policies and also to formulate a policy strategy for the next recruitment. The implementation of civil servant recruitment in 2018 is generally carried out well, except that there are problems with the recruitment of CPNS for persons with disabilities that are not fully in accordance with the policy of respecting, protecting, and fulfilling the rights of persons with disabilities. There are several strategies for implementing civil servant recruitment for persons with disabilities, there are: 1) Conducting equal perceptions between central government, regional government, and other related parties, 2) Building positive concepts for persons with disabilities, 3) Providing greater opportunities for persons with disabilities to become civil servant, 4) Arrange the formation of persons with disabilities based on regional needs and persons with disabilities, 5) Conduct planning of implementation of civil servant recruitment for persons with disabilities by involving the community of persons with disabilities and related parties, 6) Optimizing services for persons with disabilities. Keywords: Evaluation, Civil Servant Recruitment, People with Disabilities ABSTRAK Pelaksanaan penerimaan CPNS bagi penyandang disabilitas oleh Pemerintah Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan merupakan salah satu perwujudan dari Undang-Undang Nomor 8 Tahun 2016 tentang Penyandang Disabilitas. Abstract:
Empirically, people with disabilities often get discriminatory treatment in social life which results in neglect of the fulfillment of the rights of persons with disabilities, although juridically, as in Bali, there are already regional legal products that provide protection for the rights of persons with disabilities. This study aims to analyze how forms of legal protection given to people with disabilities and how the implementation of the rights of persons with disabilities is associated with Balinese culture. This study uses normative research methods with the approach of legislation (statue approach) and conceptual approach. The results of this study indicate that legal protection and the fulfillment of the rights of persons with disabilities regulated through the Bali Provincial Regulation Number 9 of 2015 has contained the rights of persons with disabilities that are quite comprehensive, as well as the obligations of the Regional Government in fulfilling the rights of persons with disabilities. However, as in the rights of religious persons with disabilities, they have the potential not to be applied because they tend to be inconsistent with Balinese customs and culture that has been passed down through generations.

Abstract:
Disability has become a serious problem topic in recent times, this is because people with disabilities are prone to various acts of discrimination physically and mentally, even people with disabilities are vulnerable to being victims of sexual harassment within the family or non-disabled spheres. People with disabilities face various problems in their daily life. Persons with disabilities are often rejected on the grounds of their limitations, there are even some who make physically and mentally healthy as the main requirement to be able to access certain fields. Even human rights violations against persons with disabilities are still found in nearby locations. The gap that is accepted by people with disabilities is a separate pressure for people with disabilities to meet all aspects of their needs. Fulfillment of disability rights is still lacking in attention, both in building facilities or infrastructure, as well as facilities in public places. Inequality also exists in the sectors of education, employment, politics, and accessibility to transportation. This shows that there is a different treatment received by persons with disabilities towards public services that are friendly to persons with disabilities.

Abstract:
Disisi lain perjuangan advokasi terhadap isu perempuan penyandang disabilitas yang dilakukan oleh aktor perempuan penyandang disabilitas dan organisasi yang mengangkat isu disabilitas belum semuanya menggunakan pendekatan intersection yakni adanya irisan diskriminasi gender dan disabilitas dalam perjuangan advokasi mereka.[Women with disabilities experience double or even multiple marginalization and discrimination that result in the violation of their rights to get access to education, health, employment, and others. The multiple discrimination against women with disabilities is occurring in both cultural and structural level. Culturally, stigma and negative perspectives of family and community on disabilities contribute to the unmet needs of women with disabilities in education, health and other basic needs. Such condition is exacerbated by the absence of gender equality and disability perspective on the implementation on government policies in various important issues that structurally further marginalize women with disabilities. This research is located in DI Yogyakarta by describing disability issues and their positioning in the feminist movement and the disability movement. Stages of research through data collection (observation, interviews, and documentation) followed by categorization, data analysis and finally drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that most government programs place women with disabilities as subjects of development, but many of their orientations are still objects of development. On the other hand, the struggle for women with disabilities issues carried out by persons with disabilities and organizations that raise disability issues have not all used a cross-sectional approach, namely the differences in gender discrimination and disability in their advocacy struggles.]

Abstract:
Trends to integrate students with disabilities into general education schools, rely on early childhood teachers utilising their knowledge and skills to provide successful induction into the education system, and fully including students with disabilities in the teaching program. This study describes early childhood teachers' knowledge of children with disabilities, and the teaching of these children, through teachers recounting their sources of knowledge and experiences in teaching children with disabilities. This study was conducted in the northern metropolitan teaching districts of Perth, Western Australia. Using both quantitative and qualitative methodology, 22 early childhood teachers completed a survey involving open-ended questions, followed by 5 teachers participating in taped in-depth interviews, disclosing their thoughts and lived experiences of teaching children with disabilities in general education settings. Data were analysed to identify shared teacher knowledge significant to the effective teaching and inclusion of children with disabilities. Findings indicated that early childhood teachers' knowledge of children with disabilities developed through the experience of teaching a child with disabilities and was relative to the particular children they had taught. Interview participants indicated that caring dispositions and knowledge of the individual, not the disability, was essential knowledge for teaching a child with disabilities. Being proactive and seeking support, as well as planning ahead, organizing time, adapting the learning environment and modifying existing teaching practices and expectations were considered to be critical elements of teaching a child with disabilities. Early childhood teachers also found that teaching a child with disabilities was a shared experience, where they were required to collaborate with various agencies and parents to ensure successful inclusion took place. The process of inclusion caused early childhood teachers to question their self-efficacy and the adequacy of their practical teaching knowledge. As one interview participant stated, "it's all a huge learning curve."

Kotow, Yuushi. "Jobs, disabilities, and you| An accessible job interview communication training tool for persons with disabilities." Thesis, California State University, Long Beach, 2014. http://pqdtopen.proquest.com/#viewpdf?dispub=1527387.

Abstract:

I have designed and implemented a new online communication training tool (XHTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, MySQL) that potentially maximizes a job candidate's ability to obtain job offers. All demographic statistics show people with disabilities as the largest minority group currently unemployed in the United States. Those who seek work have a higher chance of being unemployed, find a low-level job, or find part-time employment. With communication training, job candidates gain the ability to market their skills to potential employers and increase the likelihood of obtaining a job offer. I researched into ADA law that provided guidelines when developing the system and discuss a job candidate's rights in each step of the interview process. Using a Model-View-Controller (MVC) based framework, I have built a system that adapts to a user's disability, and presents them with a tailored list of interview questions and answers. For this paper, mobility and visual disabilities were focused on. The database contains legal interview questions, illegal questions under ADA law, and gray area questions (questions that may seem illegal but really not). This allows us to challenge the communication skills and knowledge of the user and encourage them to learn how to improve. PHP modules were built to be flexible and independent from each other. Different modules can be loaded and unloaded in the Controllers thereby allowing flexibility in the system. Having independent modules also reduces the time to debug code. Participants are given multiple choice answers to each interview question in a 10-question training session and rated based on their performance. Answers are assigned points (from 1 to 4) and are calculated at the end of a training session. A group of California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) students were given a 2-part survey before and after communication training and provided promising results on the effectiveness of the system. Overall, attitudes of participants showed the entire group agreed that communication is a key aspect in a job interview and that communication training would help them obtain more job offers. Participants that completed part-2 of the survey indicated that communication training through the system has overall helped their abilities. Long-term usage of the system could potentially show an increase in job interview performance (i.e., job interviews vs. job offers) and therefore, increasing the employment rate for people with disabilities.

Abstract:
Research indicates that students with learning disabilities know little about their condition. The purpose of this study was to investigate the depth and breadth of high school students' understanding of their learning disabilities. Using semi-structured individual interviews, the researcher collected, transcribed, and analyzed data to determine 12 participants' knowledge of learning disabilities, about how they learn, and about their potential to succeed in school and adult life. Results indicate varying levels of self-knowledge and varying perceptions of future success.

Abstract:
The presence of students with disabilities in the universities is increasing. Faculty need to be trained in order to attend these students and with the objective to offer and inclusice education. The aim of this communication is to identify, describe and explain the barriers and aids that students with disabilities experience in university classroom. Forty four students with disabilitis participated in the research. A biographical narrative methodology was used. The university-life histories of the students were complied by making use of in-depth interviews, lifelines and photographs. Results indicate the important of faculty training in matters concerning disabilities and new technologies, informing to the faculty of the presence of students with disabilities in their classroom, the existence of a specific service to support the faculty and the important of iimproving a positive attitude toward the disability. These results are dicussed in line with other studies. Recommendations are maded according to inclusive education and offering keys to universities to provide training plans leading to inclusive education and learning.

Abstract:
India has a unique and complex religious history, with faith and spirituality playing an important role in everyday life. Hinduism is the majority religion, and there are many minority religions. India also has a complicated class system and entrenched gender structures. Disability is another important identity. Many of these factors determine people’s experiences of social inclusion or exclusion. This paper explores how these intersecting identities influence the experience of inequality and marginalisation, with a particular focus on people with disabilities from minority religious backgrounds. A participatory qualitative methodology was employed in Chennai, to gather case studies that describe in-depth experiences of participants. Our findings show that many factors that make up a person’s identity intersect in India and impact how someone is included or excluded by society, with religious minority affiliation, caste, disability status, and gender all having the potential to add layers of marginalisation. These various identity factors, and how individuals and society react to them, impact on how people experience their social existence. Identity factors that form the basis for discrimination can be either visible or invisible, and discrimination may be explicit or implicit. Despite various legal and human rights frameworks at the national and international level that aim to prevent marginalisation, discrimination based on these factors is still prevalent in India. While some tokenistic interventions and schemes are in place to overcome marginalisation, such initiatives often only focus on one factor of identity, rather than considering intersecting factors. People with disabilities continue to experience exclusion in all aspects of their lives. Discrimination can exist both between, as well as within, religious communities, and is particularly prevalent in formal environments. Caste-based exclusion continues to be a major problem in India. The current socioeconomic environment and political climate can be seen to perpetuate marginalisation based on these factors. However, when people are included in society, regardless of belonging to a religious minority, having a disability, or being a certain caste, the impact on their life can be very positive.

Abstract:
Learning disabilities are among the most common disabilities experienced in childhood and adulthood. Although identifying learning disabilities in a school setting is a complex process, it is particularly challenging in low- and middle-income countries that lack the appropriate resources, tools, and supports. This guide provides an introduction to learning disabilities and describes the processes and practices that are necessary for the identification process. It also describes a phased approach that countries can use to assess their current screening and evaluation services, as well as determine the steps needed to develop, strengthen, and build systems that support students with learning disabilities. This guide also provides intervention recommendations that teachers and school administrators can implement at each phase of system development. Although this guide primarily addresses learning disabilities, the practices, processes, and systems described may be also used to improve the identification of other disabilities commonly encountered in schools.
