Full textDinet is a logistics company, specialized in providing traditional logistics services. However, since the beginning of this year it has started providing logistics solutions for ecommerce. The purpose of the consultancy described in this document was to identify the main problem that Dinet faces when providing e-commerce logistics services since it is a company designed to provide traditional logistics services. It was necessary to have meetings with the managers of different areas, in order to gather the relevant information that make it possible to realize internal problems related to operations and quality. The main problem found is the delay in the execution of processes and tasks in the areas, generating administrative and operational inefficiencies that affects the e-commerce service profitability. An internal analysis and external analysis were carried out. Also, literature reviewed in order to provide a basis for the proposed solution to the main problem. The literature reviewed was related to the following topics: (a) organizational design, (b) organizational culture and change management, (c) quality tools, (d) processes, and (e) customer service. After this analysis and investigation, two alternatives solutions were proposed to solve the main problem described, which were evaluated and compared on the following criteria: (a) risk, (b) time, (c) added value, and (d) economic viability. The selected alternative consists of the creation of a new e-commerce business model that will be supported by the actual areas, the initial budget considered for this implementation is S/90,567, that will generate a saving of S/121,718 per year. Afterwards, the key success factors and risks that the selected alternative may have were identified. With the information obtained throughout this work, the suggested implementation plan for the proposed solution was described. Finally, the expected results of the implementation of the proposed solution were mentioned.

Full textThis study looks at the controversy between Descartes and Pierre Bourdin, providing a historical reconstruction and analysing the concepts in their debate. The dispute arose after the publication of Discours and Essais (1637) and, particularly, when Charles Potier defended three theses against the Dioptric in 1640. The dispute evolved from the scientific to the metaphysic plane with Bourdin’s redaction of a Dissertatio, which was included in the second edition of Meditations (1642) as the Seventh Set of Objections with Replies and, together with the Letter to Father Dinet, form an Appendix to Meditations. Dinet’s intervention made possible a reconciliation between Descartes and Bourdin, which coincided with the publication of Principia (1644). The first chapter is dedicated to the themes of the critic to the optic starting from Bourdin’s scientific context, using the theses of the students of the Jesuit College and the contents of three manuscripts. In the second chapter, with the analysis of Objections VII, Bourdin’s critic, which is usually considered to have its focus on the method and, precisely, on doubt, undergoes a crucial development concerning the Cartesian demonstration of real distinction. Bourdin identifies the weakness of the theory of real distinction based on the doubt. This chapter also scrutinizes a lecture of Descartes’ answer that underlines points of tension between Meditations and Answers. The third chapter, analysing Letter to Father Dinet, reconstructs the end of controversy and the dynamic that links it to the publication of Principia. A transcription of an Optic from one of three manuscripts concludes the dissertation
Freni, Valentina. "Apport de l'imagerie scientifique à la caractérisation des pigments des œuvres du peintre orientaliste Etienne Dinet." Electronic Thesis or Diss., Sorbonne université, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020SORUS261.
Full textThis research aims to contribute to the study and characterization of the pigments used by the French painter Étienne Dinet at the dawn of the 20th century. Our approach draws on painting manuals written by the artist (Les fléaux de la peinture), in which he shows his search for materials to be used in painting. Based on these writings, a database of scientific photographs and reflectance spectra (visible and near infrared) was created to determine the pigments used in his paintings. Seven paintings were then studied. Scientific imaging enabled us to characterize the painter’s palette, especially when we had the opportunity to combine several analytical techniques producing complementary data. We have thus shown the value of using a set of non-invasive imaging techniques simultaneously for pigment characterization: no pictorial material is required and the low amount of light radiation during measurements does not affect its conservation. Technical photography can provide a lot of information about the state of preservation of a painting and allows us to detect restoration interventions done over time. It also allows us to make hypotheses about the painter’s palette. To confirm these hypotheses, analyses such as X-ray fluorescence and hyperspectral imaging, which provide more accurate information and more direct interpretation, are required

Full textThe Unimak Island caribou herd is in the midst of a population decline associated with low birth rates and calf survival. I evaluated the spatial and temporal complexity of caribou landscape use and the availability and nutritional quality of key forage species. First, I examined seasonal landscape use and movement using GPS collar data. Second, I determined seasonal diets to the species-level for spring, summer, and fall using a novel n-alkane and long-chain fatty acid (LCOH) method. Finally, I compared diet quality with needs for maintenance and to the quality of available plant species. Caribou home ranges were largest and movements least in the winter, and movements appeared dependent on plant phenology and weather conditions. Diets were complex and seasonally variable but generally contained higher proportions of forbs than other caribou herds likely due to their higher relative availability as compared to other preferred forages. Finally, animals foraged selectively each season, obtaining a diet that was higher in digestible dry matter and nitrogen than the average of plants available. Nutritional quality appeared to be well above requirements during the three seasons investigated. Overall, I concluded that spring, summer, and fall forage quality and availability do not impose strong constraints on Unimak Island caribou. However, I recommend that diet composition and quality be determined in the winter, the time when forage often limits the productivity of caribou herds.
