Abstract:
Background and Aim: Milk yield (MY) is one of the main factors that affect the economic profitability of dairy farms. Thus, increasing the MY per animal and decreasing the feed cost can lead to economic gains, so the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of dry period length (DPL), days open (DO), and days in milk (DIM) on the productivity and profitability of dairy cow farms. Materials and Methods: Data used in this study were taken from 3095 lactation records of Friesian dairy cows of private and governmental sectors. The data were classified into 4 DPL categories: DPL1 <45 days; DPL2 45-60 days; DPL3 61-75 days, and DPL4 >75 days, 3 DO categories: DO1 ≤90 days; DO2 91-110 days and DO3 >111 days, and 8 DIM categories: DIM1 180-210 days; DIM2 211-240 days; DIM3 241-270 days; DIM4 271-300 days; DIM5 301-330 days; DIM6 331-360 days; DIM7 361-447 days; and DIM8 >447 days. Results: The average net profit (NP) was significantly different (p<0.05) among different categories of DPL, DO, and DIM in both production sectors, where high estimates of NP were calculated for DPL3 (30667.3 EGP), and it was the lowest for DPL1 (19690.6 EGP). DO2 had the highest NP (30754.1 EGP), while DO3 had the lowest NP (24875.5 EGP). DIM3 had the highest NP (29569.3 EGP), while DIM8 had the lowest NP (19528.4 EGP). Conclusion: Finally, we can conclude that DPL 61-75 days, DO 91-110 days, and DIM 241-270 days had the highest level of total MY, total return, and NP. Private dairy cow farms achieve a higher level of NP than governmental ones under subtropical Egyptian conditions.

Abstract:
AbstractIn this paper we consider the relationship between the Assouad and box-counting dimension and how both behave under the operation of taking products. We introduce the notion of ‘equi-homogeneity’ of a set, which requires a uniformity in the cardinality of local covers at all length-scales and at all points, and we show that a large class of homogeneous Moran sets have this property. We prove that the Assouad and box-counting dimensions coincide for sets that have equal upper and lower box-counting dimensions provided that the set ‘attains’ these dimensions (analogous to ‘s-sets’ when considering the Hausdorff dimension), and the set is equi-homogeneous. Using this fact we show that for any α ∈ (0, 1) and any β, γ ∈ (0, 1) such that β + γ ⩾ 1 we can construct two generalised Cantor sets C and D such that dimBC = αβ, dimBD = α γ, and dimAC = dimAD = dimA (C × D) = dimB (C × D) = α.

Abstract:
The main objective of the present study was to evaluate the beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) and fat to protein content (F:P) ratio patterns in the milk of Holstein cows with postpartum diseases throughout the first five months of lactation. This prospective study was performed at Vestjyske Dyrlaeger ApS (Nørre Nebel, Denmark). The milk fat, protein, and BHB were evaluated in the Danish Eurofins laboratory according to the monthly averaged days in milk (DIM1 to 5). According to clinical records, five groups were formed: A (control group; cows without diseases; n = 32), B (cows with left displaced abomasum -LDA- and concomitant diseases; n = 25); C (cows with other diseases up to DIM3; n = 13); D (cows with foot disorders up to DIM3; n = 26); and E (cows with disease manifestations in DIM4 and DIM5; n = 26). All the sick cows were treated after diagnosis, and laparoscopy was performed on cows with LDA. In group B, a higher concentration of BHB (0.18 ± 0.02 mmol/L; p < 0.001) was observed than in the control group (0.07 ± 0.02 mmol/L; p < 0.001) in DIM1, presenting an odds ratio (OR) = 8.9. In all groups, BHB decreased to 0.03–0.05 mmol/L (p < 0.05) since DIM3. The F:P ratio was higher in group B (1.77 ± 0.07) than in group A (1.32 ± 0.06; p < 0.05) in DIM1. A similar profile is observed in DIM2. It was observed that animals in group B were four to six times more likely to have a F:P ratio ≥1.29 during DIM1 (OR = 4.0; 95% CI:1.3–14.4; p = 0.01) and DIM2 (OR = 5.9; 95% CI %:1.9–21.9; p < 0.01), than cows in group A. There were also moderate and high correlations between the F:P ratio and the BHB for DIM1 (r = 0.57; r2 = 0.33; RSD = 0.09; p < 0.001) and DIM2 (r = 0.78; r2 = 0.60; RSD = 0.07; p < 0.001), respectively. We concluded that animals affected by LDA in the postpartum period have a higher concentration of BHB in milk in DIM1 and all treated animals quickly recover BHB levels up to DIM3. The F:P ratio is a viable and economic indicator, mainly in DIM1 and DIM2, to estimate BHB concentration and energy balance in cows with LDA and other postpartum diseases.

Abstract:
Abstract BACKGROUND Low-grade glioma (LGG) patients typically suffer from mild aphasia that often cannot be detected with standard aphasia tests. The Diagnostic Instrument for Mild Aphasia (DIMA) is the first standardized test-battery to assess mild language disorders. We investigate pre- and postoperative linguistic abilities of LGG and high-grade glioma (HGG) patients with the DIMA. METHODS The DIMA consists of subtests that tap phonology (word, compound, non-word, sentence repetition), semantics (odd-picture-out), and syntax (sentence completion). Additionally, we administered the Boston Naming Test, Category- and Letter Fluency, and the Token Test. Patients were assessed before awake surgery (T1, N=98), three-months (T2, N=69), and one-year (T3, N=30) postoperatively. DIMA performance was compared to healthy controls (N=214). Group differences were examined with parametric (t-test) and nonparametric (Mann-Whitney-U, Wilcoxon) tests. RESULTS DIMA: Preoperatively, patients deviated on sentence repetition and sentence completion (p<0.05). HGG patients performed worse than LGG on word, non-word, and sentence repetition (p<0.05). There was no effect of hemispheric tumor localization. At T2, compound repetition and odd-picture-out also became impaired (p<0.05) and there was a decline compared to T1 on all repetition tasks (p<0.05). At T3, only sentence completion remained impaired (p<0.01) with a deterioration compared to T1 (p<0.01). Standard tests: At T1, patients were impaired on BNT, Category- and Letter Fluency (p<0.01). HGG patients performed worse than LGG patients on BNT and TT (p<0.01). Patients with left-hemispheric tumors performed worse on BNT and Letter Fluency compared to right-hemispheric tumors (p<0.05). At T2, TT also became impaired (p<0.05) and patients declined compared to T1 on Verbal Fluency tests (p<0.01). At T3, only BNT and Category Fluency remained impaired (p<0.05), with no significant declines compared to T1. CONCLUSION The DIMA is the first test-battery to detect peri-operative impairments at different linguistic levels (phonology, semantics, syntax) in patients with left- or right-hemispheric gliomas. It even appeared more sensitive to detect surgical effects than standard tests: all phonological DIMA subtests captured short-term decline (T1-T2), in line with earlier evidence for the value of (non-)word repetition. DIMA sentence completion detected long-term decline (T1-T3), reflecting earlier spontaneous speech analyses. As expected, Verbal Fluency was also sensitive to short-term postoperative decline. Left-hemispheric tumor localization only affected standard test performance. HGG patients had more severe impairments than LGG on DIMA repetition and standard tests (BNT and TT). We advise adding the DIMA to standard language evaluation of glioma patients, as it allows for more detailed counseling about language outcome.

Abstract:
Cyclodextrins (CD) are macrocyclic biopolymers with potential applications in the delivery of small and macro-molecular therapeutic agents. Despite the potent host-guest inclusion property, their inherent lack of cellular binding ability has limited applications in drug delivery. Herein, we functionalized b-cyclodextrin (b-CD) with diminazene aceturate(DIMA), which are bioactive molecules, widely distributed some cells, and responsible for antiprotozoal activity. The inclusion complex of DIMA with b-CD was confirmed with textural, thermogravimetric, calorimetric, spectroscopic, and microscopic techniques. Thus, the proposed inclusion complex b-CD-DIMA system could be used as a site-specific drug delivery carrier.

Abstract:
Distributed Integrated Modular Avionics System (DIMA) has attracted extensive attention in recent years, and the time-triggered Ethernet (TTE) supports the time triggering mechanism of DIMA system, so it has become the main protocol adopted by this system. In order to generate a network topology with lower architecture cost, load balancing and relatively short path, we studied the network topology optimization problem based on TTE. In view of the arbitrariness of TTE network topology, based on the analysis of time-triggered DIMA model, Floyd algorithm and simulated annealing algorithm are applied to realize topology optimization. The simulation results show that the proposed topology design and optimization method can not only effectively reduce network congestion, but also save network cost.

Abstract:
With an increasing number of aircraft systems, a fully manual developmental approach is impractical for finding optimal hardware and software mapping from overwhelming configurations for Distributed Integrated Modular Avionics (DIMA) systems. The automation of finding such optimized mapping should be available and thoroughly understood. This paper is an investigation on the foundations of optimal hardware and software mapping for DIMA. We begin by reviewing the DIMA system architecture. Following that, we present the problem statement of hardware and software mapping and its ensuring mathematical optimization models. A set of primary architectural quality metrics (e.g., reliability and scalability) and aircraft constraints (e.g., segregation and resource constraints) are identified, which can be used to compose an objective function or compare and trade alternatives. Based on the quality metrics and aircraft constraints, we synthesize an encompassing formulation by means of multi-objective optimization. Various optimization approaches for hardware and software mapping are then reviewed and compared. Case studies of DIMA optimization are presented for avionics systems, in which running time is reported for different optimization problems with different objectives and constraints. In addition, we present and discuss open issues and future trends, from which future developments may draw upon.

Dima dalmatina Küster, 1844 was recorded for the first time from Bosnia and Herzegovina, D. elateroides Charpentier, 1825 from Bulgaria and Macedonia, D. florinensis from Macedonia, and D. raineri Wurst, 1997 from Albania. For each species we provided bibliography and information on the type depositories, diagnosis, intraspecific variability and distribution, and figured the main diagnostic morphological characters. Due to the generally uniform morphology within the genus and great intraspecific variability in most diagnostic characters we were unable to construct a reliable identification key for the Dima species in the Balkan Peninsula. Our study revealed that Dima is a more speciose genus than expected and that more species may be discovered in the near future, even in Europe.

As proved in [16], there exists a duality ?t between the category HLC of locally compact Hausdorff spaces and continuous maps, and the category DHLC of complete local contact algebras and appropriate morphisms between them. In this paper, we introduce the notions of weight wa and of dimension dima of a local contact algebra, and we prove that if X is a locally compact Hausdorff space then w(X) = wa(?t(X)), and if, in addition, X is normal, then dim(X) = dima(?t(X)).

"An indisputable musical personality of all times, the great musician Gheorghe Dima gave a new breath to Romanian music but also to religious music. Activating in the second half of the 19th century, turbulent times for history and nation and the first half of the 20th century, he established himself through his substantial and rich academic training in famous western schools. It remained in the consciousness of researchers and generations as one who put Romanian music (instrumental or polyphonic) on the research corridor of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. In this sense, the present academic research wants to pay homage to an unforgettable personality from the local space. Keywords: musicology, history, personality, etc."

Abstract:
Model Checking based verification techniques represent an important issue in the field of concurrent systems quality assurance. The lack of formal semantics in the existing formalisms describing multi-agents models combined with multi-agents systems complexity are sources of several problems during their development process. The Maude language, based on rewriting logic, offers a rich notation supporting formal specification and implementation of concurrent systems. In addition to its modeling capacity, the Maude environment integrates a Model Checker based on Linear Temporal Logic (LTL) for distributed systems verification. In this paper, we present a formal and generic framework (DIMA-Maude) supporting formal description and verification of DIMA multi-agents models.

Abstract:
SUMMARYLand use and land cover changes are driven by human actions and, in turn, drive changes that alter the availability of products and services for people and livestock. For proper planning, these cause-and-effect interrelations need to be understood. This is especially important for Ethiopia where the resource base is declining and should be improved in order to feed the growing population. To better understand these interrelations, we studied trends in the natural resource base over a 35-year period for two contrasting sites in the Ethiopian Highlands: semi-arid and water-short Lenche Dima, and sub-humid and moisture-sufficient Kuhar Michael. Information was obtained using time-series satellite images, geographical positioning system, a socio-economic survey and a document review. Results showed that for sub-arid Lenche Dima there were minimal changes in land use and land cover patterns, while in water-sufficient Kuhar Michael cropland greatly increased at the expense of the grazing land and bare soil. At the same time land holding size and cattle numbers decreased in Lenche Dima while they remained the same in Kuhar Michael, although overall land holdings remained larger in Lenche Dima than in Kuhar Michael. This study thus found large differences in development of agriculture since the 1970s: intensification of agriculture is possible in the water-sufficient sub-humid climate by displacing animal husbandry with high value crops that need irrigation during the dry monsoon season. This is not possible for the semi-arid area where water is the limiting factor in production even if a market is close by. Agriculture in the semi-arid areas also requires larger land holdings because of the risk of droughts and low yields during some years. This comparative analysis suggests that without sufficient water, the shift from subsistent to commercial market-driven agriculture cannot be easily accomplished.

Abstract:
Smoke detectors generally present the most frequently used fire detectors. These detectors have great appliance because smoke presents the consequence of many fires. These detectors can be realized as point smoke detectors and linear smoke detectors, while special smoke detectors are used for special purposes. Their efficiency is the biggest in the cases where fuel material produces smaller or larger amounts of smoke. The use of smoke detectors in the form of linear smoke detectors is particularly significant in rooms with huge dimensions and huge ceiling height. This paper was written to present work principle of linear smoke detectors and their installation in objects related to valid standards (EN 54, BS, NPB 88-2001, VDE 088-2 and NFPA 72).

Abstract:
A new diamine containing an imidazole structure, 4,4′-(4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole-1,2-diyl)dianiline (DIMA), was synthesized to prepare photoconductive polyimides (PIs) with four types of dianhydrides such as 3,3′,4,4′-biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride, 4,4′-oxyduphthalic anhydride, 4,4′-(hexafluoroisopropylidene) diphthalic anhydride, and cyclobutane-1,2,3,4,-tetracarboxylic dianhydride, based on the fact that the imidazole ring is a useful n-type block with high electron-donating property and good thermal stability. The imidazole-containing diamine possesses high electron-donating properties due to the lone pair electrons at nitrogen, which affords a high hole-transport property. All the PIs prepared from DIMA were amorphous due to the large side group and kink structure of the diamine, optically transparent (transmittances of 92–98% at 450 nm), and exhibited high thermal stability (10% weight loss temperatures ranged 453–558°C).

Abstract:
Adjacency metric dimension and local adjacency metric dimension are the development of metric dimension. The purpose of this research is to determine the adjacency metric dimension of corona graph between any connected graph G and non-trivial graph H denoted by dimA(G⊙H), to determine the local adjacency metric dimension of corona graph between any connected graph G and non-trivial graph H denoted by dimA,l(G⊙H), and to determine the correlation between adjacency metric dimension and local adjacency metric dimension of corona product graph operations. In this research, it is found out that the value of adjacency metric dimension of G⊙H graph is affected by the basic characteristic of H and the domination characteristic. Meanwhile, the value of local adjacency metric dimension of G⊙H graph is only affected by the basic characteristic of H Futhermore, it is found a correlation of adjacency metric dimension and local adjacency metric dimension of corona product graph between any connected graph G and non-trivial graph H.
