Full textFrom the studies on the mafia phenomenon, it is evident their capability in infiltrating the socio-economical fabric of non-traditional area too. Thus, this study aims to analyze the social fabric of a specific territory, the Forlì-Cesena area in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna, in order to define if the existent social networks could be able to produce the kind of social capital and relational goods needed to fight the mafia expansion. The theoretical framework is defined by the combination of the relational theory (Donati 1986; Coleman 1988; Putnam 2004; Burt 2005; Donati, Solci 2011) and the main approaches to the mafia phenomenon (Gambetta 1992; Varese 2011, 2014; Sciarrone 1998, 2014). For this, the research will consider three dimensions: the economical one, linked to the presence of new markets; the criminal one, linked to the actual presence of mafia groups; the socio-relational one, linked to trust, civic engagement, knowledge and awareness of the phenomenon itself. In the first and second chapter the author defines the theoretical framework thanks to the scientific literature concerning mafia phenomenon and relational theory. In the third chapter the methodology is presented, including aims, reasons and methods on which the research is based. The fourth chapter is dedicated to the analysis of the economical and criminal dimensions of the considered area, through the study of official documents and semi-structured interviews to experts. In the fifth chapter, the socio- relational dimension is analyzed thanks to semi-structured interviews to some groups of local actors: antimafia associations, trade associations, Institutions, local entrepreneurs. Considering the different profiles involved, the data analysis has been conducted in order to integrate different points of view, willing to understand a reality difficult to reach.

Full textEmotions are the result of a combination made by specific and general physiological activations linked to endogenous and socio-cultural factors (Iagulli, 2014) such as the social definition of situations and the cultural contexts itself (Gordon, 1989, 1990): “Social forces shaped the world and converted it into a fragment of experiences with a name, a story, a meaning and specific consequences” (Turnaturi, 1995:159). Emotional deviance is one of the most important examples of this condition: it occurs when there is no congruence between what individual feels in a social situation and what he/she should experience to be in harmony with social rules and vice versa (D'Andrea, 2005:78-79). At the base of emotional deviance, among the elements considered, there are: a) the social roles’ plurality simultaneously covered by the subject; b) situations of subcultural marginality; c) situations of role transitions; d) too much rigid rules to regulate roles and rituals (Iagulli, 2016) that are connected, in my analysis, to bullying and, in particular, to the cyberbullying phenomenon. The background of these behaviors, is the “interreality” space (Riva, 2014:60) that includes both the real and the virtual world in a very strong and interdependent interrelation dimension. In fact, talking about sociological emotions and their possible social dysfunctions, is not easy for the particular nature of the topic. The new frontiers of youth deviance (in terms of bullying/cyberbullying) (Anichini, Chiarugi, 2012) are based on the emotional behavior. Online relationships, in particular, are very real because they are able to bring true joys and sorrows in the general understanding: it is difficult, therefore, to distinguish between feelings in the network and emotions vis à vis. Children, in other words, get excited online but they do not really feel emotions; on the contrary, they experience these in an altered way, through media contents and messages that can be misunderstood. Emotional affordances (Hochschild, 1979, 1983, 2000) tested on line can be characterized by three specific elements: shock (repulsion); surprise (attraction) and security (Riva, 2014: 80). These emotions can be positive or negative, but they are disembodied: they exist but they aren’t really experienced (Ibidem). Social Media and Media act on the emotional component, “onlife”: there is a symbolic window through which the user looks at himself/herself as a “second self” (Salerno, Lena, 2016: 12-17). The connection seems to change, in an dysfunctional and dissonant emotional type of relation that transforms the ability to choose friends and to share certain contents rather than others, like in cyberbullying cases (Turkle, 2012). The emotional deviance, in this sense, becomes a macro theoretical sector that can be useful to study cyberbullying starting from the gap between feeling rules and the real social and emotional context - legitimately approved and vice versa (Thoits, 1989; Hochschild, 1989; 1990; 2006; 2013).
