Known for its regulation of blood pressure and cardiovascular homeostasis, the renin angiotensin system (RAS) is also involved in cell phenotypic modifications responsible for tumor initiation or development. Angiotensin II (Angll) is an intermediary of RAS and is responsible for mitogenic and angiogenic activities explaining cellular changes. Its actions were carried through G-protein-coupled receptors as ATIR and AT2R. Angll and its receptors were found in various tumors and may act on different stages of tumor proliferation. The objective of this work was to identify the RSA intermediaries and to clarify their role in tumor development. In a first study, having verified AT2R was expressed in a large quantity in a mouse cell carcinoma model. We were interested in its role in tumor growth. Also, our works has shown that the AT2R deficiency or pharmacological blockade With PDI 23,319 delayed tumor development by inhibiting cell proliferation and tumor angiogenesis. In a second study, to assess the impact of changes in blood pressure in tumor progression, high blood pressure was induced by endothelin-l (ET-1) in mice which were injected tumor cells. Mice were daily treated With antihypertensive treatments such as angiotensin receptor 1 blocker (ARB) or ACE inhibitors. Thus, treatment With candesartan can reduce tumor growth induced by an increase of blood pressure, mainly by reducing tumor angiogenesis. Our study has shown the interest of ATIR and AT2R in tumor growth and has confirmed

After the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite in 1957, the evolution of various technologies has fostered the miniaturization of satellites. In 1999, the development of standardized modular satellites with masses limited to a few kilograms, called CubeSats, was initiated by a joint effort of California Polytechnic State University and Stanford University. Since then, CubeSats became a widespread and significant trend, due to a number of available off-the-shelf low cost components. In last years, the number of launched CubeSats constantly grows, but less than half of all CubeSat missions achieved their goals (either partly or completely). The analysis of these failures shows that the most evident cause is a lack of proper component-level and system-level CubeSat testing. An especially challenging task is Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) tests of the Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS). A system devoted to these tests shall offer reliable simulations of the space environment and allow realistic CubeSat motions. The most relevant approach to provide a satellite with such test conditions consists in using air bearing platforms. However, the possible satellite motions are strictly constrained because of geometrical limitations, which are inherent in the air bearing platforms. Despite 15 years of CubeSat history, the list of the air bearing platforms suitable for CubeSat ADCS test is very limited. This thesis is devoted to the design and development of an air bearing testbed for CubeSat ADCS HIL testing. The main novelty of the proposed testbed design consists in using four air bearings instead of one and in utilizing a robotic arm, which allows potentially unconstrained CubeSat motions. Besides the testbed design principle, this thesis deals with the related issues of the determination of the CubeSat orientation by means of contactless measurements, and of the behavior of the air bearings, as well as with the need of a mass balancing method. In order to verify the feasibility of the proposed design, a prototype of the testbed is developed and tested. Several modifications aimed at simplifying the structure and at shortening the fabrication timeline have been made. For this reason, the Adept Viper s650 robot is involved in place of a custom-designed 4DoF robotic arm. A control strategy is proposed in order to provide the robot with a proper motion to follow the CubeSat orientation. Finally, the obtained results are presented and the overall assessment of the proposed testbed is put into perspective

The prevention of the radio-induced biological effects in interventional radiology require a complete estimation of the patient skin and organs exposition. In this context, a software allowing a precise and fast postoperative reconstruction of the patient’s dosimetry using the Monte Carlo method was developed. The use of advanced methods of variance reduction and voxelized navigation allows a significant improvement in computing time. Last generation anthropomorphic phantoms, coupled with the reading of the irradiation parameters, allow to take realistic account of the patient's anatomy and the geometry of the machine. The precision of the Monte Carlo modelization associated with a reduced execution time as well as a complete automation makes this tool particularly suitable for a systematic calculation in interventional radiology

The work in this thesis has been funded by the French FUI project MASS-START (2017-2020). The project aims at the integration of 5G compatible baseband and radio subsystems into an Over-Air-Interface-based 5G terminal and gNodeB demonstrator, and the antenna array for end-to-end Multiple Input Multiple Output link experimentation. The scope of the thesis concerns the design and assessment of antenna systems that are to be used in the project. At 5G Frequency Range 1 band, the work concentrates on the development of a methodology to design antenna with a matching circuit for mobile terminals with limited area. The bandwidth limitation is evaluated using Quality-Factor. A Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm is proposed and examined in different antenna designs for mobile terminals. The final design demonstrates a system with three non-resonating coupling elements covering most of the sub-6GHz bands of 5G. At 5G Frequency Range 2 band, more precisely band n258 of Europe, different types of array antennas are studied. The work first checks two types of feeding for a patch antenna that can be integrated into Printed Circuit Board to have a low profile antenna and ease the fabrication procedure. The designs are later fabricated and experimentally evaluated. With a Millimeter-Wave array at hand, we proceed a measurement campaign in which the effects of the user's finger at close proximity of the antenna are evaluated. The losses due to absorption, reflection, diffraction are quantified and compared with numerical estimations in literature. A system of multiple end-fire arrays placed at different locations in a terminal is also studied showing the compromising effectiveness if one array is severely blocked

This public law thesis deals with the development of the Tibetan political system in exile. The objective was to carry out a detailed research on roots texts and commentaries on law and other relevant documents passed in the Tibetan refugee community, in order to explain the functioning of the Central Tibetan Administration, which for all practical purposes functions as the Tibetan-government-in-exile, although not formally recognized as such by the world at large and in particular by the host government. This work covers the various institutions of political representation, decision-making and governance within the Tibetan Refugee Community. Considering all this elements, we reached at the conclusion that the basics fundamentals laid down by this Charter, and the substantive and procedural laws and other rules, are inevitable for the immediate and long-term functioning of the Tibetan government in exile

This work has focused on the design and realization of a planar lighting device based on plasmonic structures, for a 633nm operation. This device will be able to convert a coherent incident light into a uniform output beam over the surface of the device, collimated and with a predefined angle with respect to the plane of the device. To achieve this feature, the proposed solution is the use of an array of dielectric waveguides to distribute the light over the surface, and silver nanostructures chains coupled to the waveguides and dimensioned as antennas to retransmit the light out of the plane. The work carried out has highlighted the control of the coupling between the waveguide and the silver nanostructures chain, modulated by several parameters in a range between 10% and 90%: the number of particles, particle size, distance between the guide and the particles. By playing on the period of the chain, it is possible to obtain an out-of-plane radiation, with an angle determined by the diffraction gratings formula. Elementary emitters, consisting of a guide and particle chains, were manufactured in a clean room and characterized on a guided wave optical bench with Fourier plane projection set-up. The experimental radiation patterns are in agreement with the simulations one. First results have also experimentally confirmed the possibility of modulating the waveguide-chain coupling by modifying the dimensions of the particles. Finally, the waveguide network has been dimensioned for an 1 cm² surface and manufactured with projection lithography. The linear losses measured in the waveguides are of the order of 5 dB / mm. Several optimizations can be made to improve the quality of the guides. From the experimental data obtained and the beam propagation simulations, a realistic configuration of the lighting device including the number and positioning of the transmitters on the waveguide network has been proposed. All the works carried out validate the chosen approach

Actual measurement techniques of the gravity field, from space to surface observations, cover a wide range of spatial resolutions of the Earth gravity field. Those data are not only used to determine high resolution geoid models, but also help to understand mass transfers inside the Earth. Nevertheless, spatial and spectral extends of gravity measurements are not homogeneous on Earth’s surface and for some isolated areas, measurements are missing. Furthermore, the intermediary spatial resolutions (10/100 km) are still badly covered by the terrestrial and space gravimetry. The mobile gravimetry from a terrestrial vehicle, a boat or a plane, appears to be the complementary technique to compensate for the lack of current gravimetry techniques. The primary objective of this work is the development of an autonomous mobile gravimetry system. The « Limo-G » (LIght MOving Gravimetry) system is an absolute vector gravimeter, consisted of three accelerometers and a GPS system with four antennas. It can be loaded on every kind of vehicles, is reliable, ergonomic and quite cheap. Metrologic surveys have been done in laboratory and on field to design and to test a calibration method of the instrument. Then, an original treatment method combining accelerometers and GPS data has been developed and tested from synthetic data based on real data acquired from an experimental survey at sea. The results of those simulations indicate that the Limo-G system reaches the milligals accuracy. The appropriate changes needed of the system to improve the accuracy of the gravity estimations have been underlined and validated using synthetic data

The growing complexity of our socio-economic environment is reflected in software engineering by an increase of the size of systems and therefore their complexity. Current systems are mostly concurrent, widely distributed and composed of other systems. They are then called Systems of Systems (SoS). The complexity of systems of systems lies in five intrinsic characteristics: the operational independence of the constituent systems, their managerial independence, the geographical distribution, the existence of emerging behaviours, and finally an evolutionary development process.SoS evolve in unpredictable environment and are constantly integrating new systems. We deal with the problem of the evolutionary development of a SoS by using dynamic reconfiguration. We have defined a process for developing configuration models and a reconfiguration design process incorporating the concept of reconfiguration pattern. For the validity and feasibility of our approach, we have developed an experimental framework based on our real case study of organization of the French emergency service

The analysis of the moroccan agro-alimentary system is characterized by a production which has shown more shortage in basic produce, notably in cereals and alimentary oil. This production is als characterized by a surplus of fruits and vegetables whose commercialization on the markets of the e. E. C. Has become problematical. However, morocco secures a better supply of essential foodstuffs mainly for meat, milk and sugar whose development is quite recent. This situation is linked to the alimentary demand, to the natural constraints, to the poor utilization of inputs, to the historical process and to the politics of development practised by the state since the early sixties. In fact, much of the public investments are concentrated on the irrigated areas where industrial farming and crops designed for exportation are possible, especially for the promotion of agro-business. This policy has only aggravated the social disparities between the irrigated areas and those where cereals are predominant. Moreover, morocco has not been able to reduce the loss caused by external dependence by developing its means of productive sectors necessary for the national development

Endogenous growth models consider that the development of financial system has a positive effect on economic growth. We analyse in this work this assertion by studying the interaction between financial system development and economic growth evolution. Two parts compose our work. In the first part we study the relationship between financial intermediaries and growth theorically and empirically. Then we introduce in the second part the financial markets in order to analyse the effect of financial system with its two main components, on economic growth. Then, in a last chapter, we analyse the demand impact on this relationship by introducing household and companies

The Doppler Global Velocimetry is a velocity measurement method which is based on Doppler shift generated by an assembly of particles illuminated by a coherent source. The very small frequency shifts collected are decrypted by means of a absorption molecular filter - a cell filled with iodine vapour - located in front of the receptor. The method particularities are detailed : frequency to intensity discrimination, conditions to reach a complete velocity field, components range. The filter (frequency-intensity discriminator) is described : absorption and fluorescence phenomena, construction and temperature control processes, presentation of iodine absorption curves. The validation is performed on a rotating disc and free jet. The most significant experimental fittings, the image processing procedure and an evaluation of the method accuracy is proposed. The experimental results are presented

Fall, Arona. "Donneurs d’électrons organiques : développement d’un nouveau système catalytique photoredox." Electronic Thesis or Diss., Aix-Marseille, 2021. http://www.theses.fr/2021AIXM0607.
During this last decade, the reactivity of enamine-based organic electron donor (OED) has been widely explored in electron transfer processes. With exceptionally negative redox potentials, OEDs spontaneously promote single (SET) or double electron transfer (DET) to an organic substrate, to form radical or anionic intermediates. However, the use of stoichiometric amount of OEDs limits their competitivity compared to their organometallic and organic catalysts. This thesis project consisted in developing a new catalytic system with OEDs. Different strategies were envisaged. In a first method a catalytic amount of OED would initiate the electron transfer to reduce the substrate. The oxidation of the generated radical intermediate would allow the regeneration of OED. Unfortunately, this strategy was unsuccessful. The second strategy would consist in regenerating the OED from its air-stable oxidized form OED2+ and a sacrificial electron donor (tertiary amine, sodium dithionite or Rongalite®) under photoactivation. Several optimizing steps allowed the development of a new efficient catalytic photoredox system with the oxidized form as photocatalyst and Rongalite® as sacrificial electron donor. This new photoredox catalytic system was applied to the reduction of various functionals groups (sulfone, aryl halide and triflate) by single electron transfer (SET) and double electron transfer (DET). The reactivity of the photocatalytic system was also explored in radical addition reactions

The contribution of the thesis consists in the development of advanced models for the dynamic behaviour of a wind-diesel system as well as for the short-term prediction of the power output of a wind farm. In order to simulate the transient behaviour of an autonomous system, a generic model has been developed that incorporates models for all the power system components. A methodology has been developed for the robust identification of the unknown power system parameters. Following this development, the next step was to develop forecasting models based on recurrent high order neural networks and on fuzzy logic for the power output of a wind farm. The developed models on the wind power forecasting problem were found to outperform existing approaches in the literature. The consideration of the developed models in the control system contributes to improve the power system management and to increase wind power penetration while maintaining a high level of security in the network

The continuous generation of blood cells throughout life relies on the existence of hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) generated during embryogenesis. The aim of my thesis was to understand the mechanisms underlying HSC emergence in the intra-embryonic hematopoietic niche. Many effectors have been detected in this region, including a functional and local Renin- Angiotensin System which acts directly on pre-HSC precursors and HSC emergence through the production of Angiotensin II . We have also observed an accumulation of yolk sac-derived macrophages in the same region and demonstrated that these cells have a crucial role in the establishment of definitive hematopoiesis, allowing the migration of the pre-HSC precursors in the mesenchyme. In addition, by a molecular study, we have demonstrated that ACE - a cell surface marker of human HSC also expressed on pre-hematopoietic cells - is a transcriptional target of the CDX2 homeoprotein. All these results contribute to a better understanding of the hematopoietic system during development and are promising for therapeutic purposes

Currently, printing techniques in the narrow fabrics market are being dominated by conventional printing techniques such as flexographic and screen printing. Modern printing techniques, for instance inkjet printing are widely applied in industry, including printing on textile materials. However, the advantages of inkjet printing or other digital printing methods did not find their way to the narrow fabrics field as a market and literature review revealed. Existing inkjet printing equipment lacks specific characteristics that are being required, if such machinery shall be applied to narrow fabrics. The main purpose of this work is to present printing equipment that does fulfill those characteristics and can therefore be applied in the field. The advantages of inkjet are being seen due to the fact that a printing plate is not needed, which reduces costs, especially for short run lengths. On the other hand, inkjet printing is capable of printing images that are not possible with conventional techniques. [. . . ]

In the context of the 3D reconstruction of scenes by using active vision system, we propos two approaches of Regions Of Interest (ROI) localization in the scene. Once integrated in a commercial 3D scanner as pre-processing process, each approach would be capable to indicate the zones of scanning. In this way, the reconstruction time would be largely reduced, and the obtained point cloud would be much less important, whereas almost all pertinent date would be conserved. The first approach called “passive” is based on the 2D information of the scene. It consists in localizing, in the scene observed, the objects of specific type. This approach was developed under the assumption that the target objects have the shape of a tube. Firstly, several image processing tools are applied to determine contours of the tubes in the images; and finally, the scanning zones are determined in the space of the projector. This approach can be eventually generalized to apply to other types of forms. The second approach called “active” is based on the 3D information extracted from the scene by an iterative process. The process begins by a regular point pattern; based on the estimation of local surface curvature around each reconstructed 3D point, a new pattern is generated in order to project more points, during the next iteration, in the zones with strong curvature; as soon as the iterative process stops, the ROI can be determined in the space of the projector. The major advantage of this approach is that no constraint is necessary on the form of the ROI
While trade barriers are falling, legal barriers are not. The number of countries has more than tripled in the past 50 years. Twenty years ago, people often associated business law with a particular nation. Today, they cannot afford to. A variety of international trade rules and practices are shaping the way trade is conducted. Whether we speak of agriculture, services, textiles and clothing, intellectual property. . . , WTO agreements dominate the international trade arena. The opening of markets has boosted trade and economic growth worldwide in the past few decades. Yet tariffs still remain a key obstacle to "market access". The potential benefits of further reducing this obstacle are significant. The Doha Development Agenda agreed in November 2001 by WTO ministers provides a roadmap for the current multilateral trade talks, calling for achievement of sybstantial improvements in market access, particularly for DC. We need new ways to facilitate business deals, settle disputes and create secure legal environments that attract foreign partners

The integration of information technology and the applied communication to teaching in the educative system needs to accompany teachers by strategies of training. Unfortunately in Gabon it is not always the same. This integration which largely depends on technological, pedagogical and human factors brings changes in the uses of teachers. My thesis was focused on what teachers think about the advantages of the Information and Communication Technology for Teaching usage in their practices. For this reason, I made a quantitative analysis of received schemas towards fifty teachers. This analysis allows to find out different uses of teachers in the studied schools but also their representatives concerning these uses. Not only this analysis allows to find out different uses of teachers in the studied schools, but also their representatives concerning these uses. The results show that there are in these schools certain uses of Information and Communication Technology by teachers. In addition, there hasn't been mere programs of teachers training putting amphasis on technological competences linked to the school curricula or taught disciplines yet. The teachers receive rather a training focused on the mastering of computers tools and certain computers practices
