Abstract:
OBJECTIVE With the advancement of 3D modeling techniques and visualization devices, augmented reality (AR)–based navigation (AR navigation) is being developed actively. The authors developed a pilot model of their newly developed inside-out tracking AR navigation system. METHODS The inside-out AR navigation technique was developed based on the visual inertial odometry (VIO) algorithm. The Quick Response (QR) marker was created and used for the image feature–detection algorithm. Inside-out AR navigation works through the steps of visualization device recognition, marker recognition, AR implementation, and registration within the running environment. A virtual 3D patient model for AR rendering and a 3D-printed patient model for validating registration accuracy were created. Inside-out tracking was used for the registration. The registration accuracy was validated by using intuitive, visualization, and quantitative methods for identifying coordinates by matching errors. Fine-tuning and opacity-adjustment functions were developed. RESULTS ARKit-based inside-out AR navigation was developed. The fiducial marker of the AR model and those of the 3D-printed patient model were correctly overlapped at all locations without errors. The tumor and anatomical structures of AR navigation and the tumors and structures placed in the intracranial space of the 3D-printed patient model precisely overlapped. The registration accuracy was quantified using coordinates, and the average moving errors of the x-axis and y-axis were 0.52 ± 0.35 and 0.05 ± 0.16 mm, respectively. The gradients from the x-axis and y-axis were 0.35° and 1.02°, respectively. Application of the fine-tuning and opacity-adjustment functions was proven by the videos. CONCLUSIONS The authors developed a novel inside-out tracking–based AR navigation system and validated its registration accuracy. This technical system could be applied in the novel navigation system for patient-specific neurosurgery.

Abstract:
Aim: The objective of this study was to estimate the Out-Of-Pocket Expenditures (OOPEs) incurred by households on dental care, as well as to analyze the sociodemographic, economic, and oral health factors associated with such expenditures. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 763 schoolchildren in Mexico. A questionnaire was distributed to parents to determine the variables related to OOPEs on dental care. The amounts were updated in 2017 in Mexican pesos and later converted to 2017 international dollars (purchasing power parities–PPP US $). Multivariate models were created: a linear regression model (which modeled the amount of OOPEs), and a logistic regression model (which modeled the likelihood of incurring OOPEs). Results: The OOPEs on dental care for the 763 schoolchildren were PPP US $53,578, averaging a PPP of US $70.2 ± 123.7 per child. Disbursements for treatment were the principal item within the OOPEs. The factors associated with OOPEs were the child’s age, number of dental visits, previous dental pain, main reason for dental visit, educational level of mother, type of health insurance, household car ownership, and socioeconomic position. Conclusions: The average cost of dental care was PPP US $70.2 ± 123.7. Our study shows that households with higher school-aged children exhibiting the highest report of dental morbidity—as well as those without insurance—face the highest OOPEs. An array of variables were associated with higher expenditures. In general, higher-income households spent more on dental care. However, the present study did not estimate unmet needs across the socioeconomic gradient, and thus, future research is needed to fully ascertain disease burden.

Abstract:
A unique study of structural and chemical analysis of crystalline phases in developed agglomerated fluxes was carried out. Thirty-two fluxes were developed by using a mixture of oxides, halides, carbonates, silicates, and ferroalloys for submerged arc welding. The present paper focuses on only ten (out of thirty-two) fluxes which were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) to know the different types of oxides formed and changed in oxidation number of metallic centers after sintering process at around 850∘C. To know the effect of temperature over phase transformation and melting of different compounds, differential thermal analysis (DTA) was carried out from 1000 to 1400∘C. This study aims to know the quantity of ions present (percentage) and melting behavior of developed agglomerated fluxes for submerged arc welding process.

Abstract:
Abstract Present-day English turn out is used in several constructions with mirative and evidential overtones. Among these, the raised subject construction and the impersonal construction stand out. The current paper provides a diachronic account of the changes that led to the emergence of these constructions. It examines the semantic and syntactic configuration of turn out and the mechanisms whereby this verb developed evidential and mirative readings during the Late Modern English period. The record shows that turn out developed abruptly from a full lexical (predominantly resultative and change-of-state) control verb into a raising verb in the course of the eighteenth century. This change was triggered by a process of semantic generalization and subjectification whereby the verb acquired evidential and, most notably, mirative nuances. Analogy seems to have played an important role as well, since the evidence suggests that other constructions somewhat similar in form (syntactic structural usage) and meaning facilitated this process. The bulk of the data examined in this study were drawn from the Oxford English Dictionary and the Corpus of Late Modern English Texts, version 3.0.

Abstract:
This present research is aiming at developing suitable instructional reading material for the students of Islamic Education Department. The procedure employed in this study was R&D model proposed by Dick and Carey, namely, need analysis, developing reading materials, expert validation, revising the materials, trying out the materials, and revising the materials. The result shows that reading materials must be developed by incorporating major content subject, namely Islamic studies, list of vocabulary, grammar review, and reading comprehension exercises. Furthermore, after being tried-out, it shows the applicability of the developed materials in helping the students to accomplish the mastery of reading skills and improve their learning motivation. In spite of the strength of the material developed, it is still tried-out in the small scale; therefore, the materials were still possible to be revised.

Abstract:
As governments increasingly search globally for strategies to improve child welfare outcomes, it is vital to consider how policies and programs developed in other countries are likely to suit local conditions. Routinely collected child welfare administrative data can provide contextual information for cross-national comparisons. This article examines out-of-home care in Australia compared to other developed countries, and explores possible explanations for differences in patterns and trends. In doing so, it also examines the similarities and differences between NSW, Victoria and Queensland. It is argued that a sound understanding of how out-of-home care is used, the profile of children in care and the influences on data can assist policy makers to match proposed solutions to clearly understood current problems. The imperative is to plan and implement policies and programs that locate out-of-home care within a range of child welfare services that meet the diverse needs of children and families within local contexts.

Full text
Abstract:
The Emma Lake thrust stack is a duplex structure consisting of basement-cored fold nappes with thrust-through overturned limbs developed in greenschist-facies metamorphic rocks. Geometric relationships between fold nappes and thrust surfaces indicate both regular-sequence and out-of-sequence thrusting occurred during development of the thrust stack. Microstructural analysis shows that regular-sequence thrusts developed under ductile conditions, whereas out-of-sequence thrusts developed in a brittle–ductile field. The structural geometry and metamorphic grade of the Emma Lake thrust stack indicate that it developed under ductile conditions at upper midcrustal levels. The geometry of the Emma Lake thrust stack suggests that structural styles common to higher level fold and thrust belts may be traced into deeper levels of the crust.

Abstract:
Let [Formula: see text] be a data set in [Formula: see text], where [Formula: see text] is the training set and [Formula: see text] is the test one. Many unsupervised learning algorithms based on kernel methods have been developed to provide dimensionality reduction (DR) embedding for a given training set [Formula: see text] ([Formula: see text]) that maps the high-dimensional data [Formula: see text] to its low-dimensional feature representation [Formula: see text]. However, these algorithms do not straightforwardly produce DR of the test set [Formula: see text]. An out-of-sample extension method provides DR of [Formula: see text] using an extension of the existent embedding [Formula: see text], instead of re-computing the DR embedding for the whole set [Formula: see text]. Among various out-of-sample DR extension methods, those based on Nyström approximation are very attractive. Many papers have developed such out-of-extension algorithms and shown their validity by numerical experiments. However, the mathematical theory for the DR extension still need further consideration. Utilizing the reproducing kernel Hilbert space (RKHS) theory, this paper develops a preliminary mathematical analysis on the out-of-sample DR extension operators. It treats an out-of-sample DR extension operator as an extension of the identity on the RKHS defined on [Formula: see text]. Then the Nyström-type DR extension turns out to be an orthogonal projection. In the paper, we also present the conditions for the exact DR extension and give the estimate for the error of the extension.
