Abstract:
Like many other countries in the world, Vietnam is facing the problem of housing for the poor. Though, a lot of money and effort have been poured into these projects, but often it falls into a very bad situation, which is unstable: the community rapidly come back to poverty, people cannot self-recover and develop on their own after withdrawal of project teams, ect. In the field of Architecture and Planning, there is a fairly common method, which is "participatory methods". But by failing to understand the essence and not knowing how to operate the method in practice, the projects for the poor have little success. This paper introduces the following two areas: The Community "Participation Design" concept we have just implemented in a poor neighborhood of Tam Ky, Vietnam. Through the lessons of Tam Ky, the shift of participation concept is summarized: from passive to active community. In this way, the Community initiates and implements its initiative to change its habitat, make it better and more sustainable.

Abstract:
The growth of the creative community cannot be quantitatively and qualitatively separated from the growing development of Creative Industry 4.0. Various creative communities produce a variety of creative products that are ready to be sold. Unfortunately, the focus of the community is often only on the product and not on the packaging design. Meanwhile, a product’s packaging not only serves to protect the product but also to promote it and encourage purchase. The purpose of this research is to educate and help the community obtain packaging designs that are not only unique but also suitable for their products. By involving Packaging Design course students of the Visual Communication Design department, we attempted to assist a jewellery and accessories-making community as our research object. Students first attempted to deepen their clients' insights by conducting observations and in-depth interviews. In designing the packaging, they consulted with their tutors intensively. The packaging design that the students produced undergoes a selection process, which resulted in four packaging designs that were deemed fit for use. Two of the selected designs were registered to obtain IPRs in the Industrial Design category. Through this research, it is hoped that the packaging design produced by these students can be used to support the sale of community products. In addition to that, they can also be used to inspire other communities to acknowledge the role of packaging design as a means that can help the sustainability of their business.

Abstract:
Empowering community residents to participate in neighborhood design may help overcome the tension between the urban densification requirements of climate change planning and the political infeasibility of rapid change. This research employed accessible visualization media in public workshops to test the capacity of the media to enable empowerment. In a community facing imminent development we found processes of mitigated empowerment through which residents accessed and generated information, were inspired to act in the face of complex problems, and expressed their ideas. The media did not enable design empowerment in the areas of community inclusion or integration into the design process.

This paper proposes an approach of Family-Embedded-Health-Care-System base on ARM core processor, mainly for the elderly in a community, but also applys to all residents in the community. The system consists of households composed of client and community health posts. Be connected via Internet or GPRS, it is very practical. To meet the daily needs of health monitoring, and also facilitate community health care workers to grasp the residents health status in the community instantly, so they can service better for the residents. When it is necessary, the physician could accessed the communitys computer serve system through Internet to got a patients daily health record as a diagnostic aid information. This system provided a route for remote medical services came into the ordinary families.

Abstract:
AbstractDuring the move to a new location in 2016-2017, the headquarters of Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC) in Bangkok applied a service design approach to devise and deploy new and improved services. Applying a case study approach, this article reports the TCDC experience in adopting a service design approach in its library function at the TCDC Resource Center. The initiative aimed to create a new service blueprint as well as to implement new and updated services to meet ever-changing user needs. It is expected that service design will increase the user satisfaction level, which will lead to an increasing number of members and visitors, as well as promote revisits and brand loyalty. The process included developing empathy, service ideation, prototyping, and testing. As a result, several new and updated services were introduced and implemented both in the physical space and online. As an iterative process, the design team has also provided multiple channels to receive feedback from users both directly and indirectly to ensure continuous improvement of its services and products.

Abstract:
The X State University Community Playground Project (XSUCPP) employs community-based design techniques in which college students in biological engineering work with local constituents, especially children, to design and build playgrounds that reflect the unique aspects of the community which the playground will serve. In developing a community-based design process, members of XSUCPP realized that there is a dearth of literature in this area. Therefore, members sought to develop an initial set of community-based design principles and best practices that engineering practitioners could use in their own community-based design endeavors. The team completed brainstorming and concept mapping exercises using a combination of individual and group techniques to create an initial set of community-based design principles, presented here. The XSUCPP members believe that each of these principles supports the overall goal of community-based design: to express “the Soul of the Community” through co-created artifacts.
