Abstract:
Digitale Nudges nutzen psychologische Prinzipien, um Nutzerverhalten im digitalen Raum zu beeinflussen. Um als Unternehmen wirksame digitale Nudges zu entwickeln, ist ein systematisches Vorgehen notwendig. Zu diesem Zweck wird in diesem Artikel die Digital Nudge Design-Methode vorgestellt, die das Entwickeln von digitalen Nudges in vier Phasen unterstützt. Die in den einzelnen Phasen angewendeten Techniken und Prozessschritte werden am Beispiel der Hero AG illustriert, die jüngst mit der Methode eigene digitale Nudges zur Nutzungsintensivierung einer Business Intelligence-Software entwickelt hat.

Digitale læringsplatforme forventes anvendt i alle fag i skolen i stadig større grad, men dette synes ikke altid meningsfuldt i praktisk-musiske fag, hvor der snarere arbejdes praktisk, kropsligt og analogt end digitalt. Som deltagende skole i det større projekt om Anvendelse af Digitale Læringsplatforme i Folkeskolen eksperimenterede en gruppe lærere med en digital læringsplatform i blandt andet musik samt håndværk og design med henblik på at lade platformen bidrage til løsninger på udfordringer i undervisningen frem for at lade den være omdrejningspunktet for projektet. Denne artikel beskriver og diskuterer på baggrund af disse eksperimenter, hvordan lærere i folkeskolen kan inddrage en digital læringsplatform på meningsfulde måder i praktisk-musiske fag. 
 Artiklen bidrager med narrativer og casebeskrivelser af disse it-didaktiske design, og de belyses gennem lærernes observationer og evalueringer af eksperimenterne med den digitale læringsplatform. Artiklen introducerer og diskuterer endvidere begrebet om "den digitalt fordoblede lærer" og peger på, hvordan en sådan med fordel kan inddrages i klasser, hvor elever har brug for gentagelse, øvelse og fysisk tilstedevær fra lærerens side.

Hensikten med denne studien er å utforske hvordan bruken av digitale fortellinger i lærerutdanningen kan bidra til å utvikle lektorstudenters digitale kompetanse og fremme innovativ bruk av IKT i engelskundervisningen. Gjennom bruken av kasusstudie og en design-basert forskningstilnærming beskriver denne studien to gjennomføringer og design-sykluser av et verksted med bruk av digitale fortellinger ved en norsk lærerutdanning hvor det overordnede målet var å vise innovative og hensiktsmessige måter å integrere IKT i engelskundervisningen. En digital kompetansemodell er brukt som linse i dataanalysen hvor datamaterialet kommer fra en kvantitativ spørre-undersøkelse, feltobservasjoner, refleksjonslogger, digitale artefakter og semi-strukturerte intervjuer. Studiens funn viser en rekke tilnærmingsmåter som kan tas i bruk i gjennomføringen av verksted i digitale fortellinger, slik som modellering av integrering av IKT og vurdering med IKT, stillasbygging ved studentaktive læringsopplevelser med IKT, og brobygging mellom teori og praksis gjennom refleksjon. Implikasjoner for lærerutdanningen blir diskutert.Nøkkelord: profesjonsfaglig digital kompetanse, digitale fortellinger, lærer-studenter, lærerutdannere, lærerutdanning, engelsk fagdidaktikkAbstractThe purpose of this study is to examine how the use of digital storytelling (DST) in teacher education can help develop digital competence in secondary school English as a second language (ESL) student teachers, and promote the innovative use of information and communications technology (ICT) in ESL teaching. Following a case methodology and a design-based research approach, the study reports on two iterative design cycles of a DST workshop held at a Norwegian teacher education program where the aim was to promote secondary ESL student teachers’ digital competence and showcase innovative ways of integrating ICT into ESL teaching. A digital competence model is used as a research lens for the data analysis where data come from a quantitative survey, participant observations, reflection logs, digital artifacts, and semi-structured interviews. Findings point to a number of approaches that can be used in the workshop design such as modeling ICT integration and assessment, scaffolding student-active learning experiences with ICT, and linking theory and practice through reflection. Bisherige Ansätze des Digitalen Zwillings beschränken sich auf die digitale Nachbildung einer Maschine insbesondere in deren Betriebsphase. Im Projekt „Co-TWIN“ wird dieses Konzept zum kollaborativen Digitalen Zwilling erweitert, der die Zusammenarbeit nicht nur lebenszyklus- sondern auch wertschöpfungspartnerübergreifend unterstützt. Dieser Beitrag zeigt die Grundidee des kollaborativen Digitalen Zwillings auf und präsentiert den aktuellen Stand der technischen Umsetzung der Co-TWIN-Plattform.   Current concepts of the digital twin are limited to a digital replication of a machine, especially in its operating phase. In the project ,Co-TWIN´, this concept is extended to a collaborative digital twin that supports cooperation not only across the lifecycle but also across the value-added partners. The paper presents the basic idea of the collaborative digital twin and the current state of the technical implementation of the Co-TWIN platform.

Der Artikel analysiert den möglichen Nutzen von Storytelling und parasozialem Design als Motivationshilfe in digitalen Lernspielen. Hierzu werden zunächst Zusammenhänge zwischen Storytelling, parasozialer Interaktion und Lernmotivation in Computerspielen beschrieben, darauf folgen einige Empfehlungen zur Gestaltung der Struktur von lernmotivierenden Erzählungen für digitale Lernspiele. Abschliessend werden zwei Beispiele zur Umsetzung einiger dieser Empfehlungen gegeben.

ZusammenfassungEine zentrale Herausforderung der digitalen Transformation ist es, diese in Einklang mit gesellschaftlichen Normen und Werten zu bringen. Verschiedene Ansätze, dies zu erreichen, wurden in den vergangenen Jahren entwickelt und erprobt. In der Entwicklung von informationstechnischen Systemen wird beispielsweise das technische Design im Einklang mit ethischen Werten und Prinzipien (ethics by design) zunehmend als wichtiger Baustein diskutiert. Value Sensitive Design (VSD) ist ein Ansatz, um ethische Werte in einer systematischen Weise während eines Entwicklungsprozesses zu berücksichtigen. Der Begriff „digitale Transformation“ umfasst aber mehr als die Entwicklung von informationstechnischen Systemen. Er beschreibt den Einsatz von Informationstechnik als einen Prozess, durch den ein Mehrwert für ein Unternehmen oder für die Gesellschaft erzielt wird. Vier Dimensionen, die es bei einer digitalen Transformation zu beachten gilt, sind Informationstechnik, Organisation, Wertschöpfung und Compliance. Dieser Artikel stellt die Hypothese auf, dass VSD geeignet ist, nicht nur Entwicklungsprojekte, sondern auch die digitale Transformation in einem Unternehmen zu gestalten. Hierzu müssen allerdings Orientierungshilfen wie beispielsweise Methodensammlungen, die AnwenderInnen in der einschlägigen Literatur zur Verfügung gestellt werden, erweitert werden. Dieser Artikel diskutiert, wie und mithilfe der Integration welcher Methoden, die einzelnen Dimensionen in VSD berücksichtigt werden können. Der Artikel leistet hierdurch einen doppelten Beitrag. Einerseits zeigt er auf konzeptueller Ebene auf, wie VSD für die Gestaltung einer digitalen Transformation genutzt werden kann. Andererseits erläutert er, wie die Integration von Methoden der Wirtschaftsinformatik den Einsatz von VSD unterstützen kann.

Wenngleich in den vergangenen 30 Jahren zum Für und Wider von digitalen Medien in der Schule zahlreiche Studien erschienen sind, generiert die ständige Weiter- und Neuentwicklung dieser in einem sich ebenfalls stetig verändernden Bildungsgefüge immer wieder neue Fragen. Für die Grundschule gilt es u.a. aktuell z.B. den Einsatz digitaler Formen wie (enhanced) eBooks oder Bilderbuch-Apps sowie digitale Audiostifte zur barrierefreien Rezeption von (Bilder-)Büchern aus deutschdidaktischer Perspektive stärker in den Blick zu nehmen. Ziel des Projektes MesH (Digitale Medien und sprachliche Heterogenität) war es audio-digitale Lernumgebungen zu mehrsprachigen Bilderbüchern zu entwickeln und diese sowohl im Labor- als auch im Schulsetting zu evaluieren (April 2017 – Juni 2018). Im vorliegenden Beitrag sollen die Ergebnisse des dritten Design-Zyklus vorgestellt werden, der sich mit der Frage beschäftigte, ob und inwieweit der Einsatz audio-digitaler Stifte als eine Form des computer assisted language learning (CALL) die Lernenden nicht nur zum Lesen motiviert, sondern auch eine Binnendifferenzierung im offenen Unterricht erlaubt, die den individuellen Stärken und Schwächen der mehrsprachigen Lernenden Rechnung trägt.

In der Produktion technischer Erzeugnisse sind Montageanlagen heute weit verbreitet. Durch immer kürzer werdende Produktlebenszyklen und die zunehmende Variantenvielfalt steigt auch die Zahl der durchzuführenden Anlagen(um)planungen. Vorgestellt wird ein Konzept, um automatisiert Entwürfe für Montageanlagen zu generieren. Auswahl und Anordnung der benötigten Betriebsmittel erfolgen dabei ausgehend von einem digitalen Modell des Produktes sowie einer Bibliothek verfügbarer Ressourcen. Die getroffenen Planungsentscheidungen werden simulativ abgesichert und heuristisch optimiert.   Nowadays, assembly lines are widely used for the production of goods. Due to shorter life cycles and increasing variance of products to be manufactured, assembly systems have to be (re)configured more frequently. This paper presents a concept to automatically generate drafts of complete assembly lines. Basis for the planning approach is a library of available resources and a digital product model. An algorithm selects, combines and arranges suitable resources. The planning decisions are heuristically optimized and verified by simulation.

Abstract:
La digitalizzazione sta costantemente modificando la nostra esperienza culturale non solo in termini di accesso, produzione e diffusione delle informazioni, ma anche in termini di apprendimento, creazione e partecipazione alla società della conoscenza. Nel corso degli anni diversi enti e organizzazioni governative hanno cercato di accelerare l’adozione di misure volte a tutelare e migliorare la fruizione dei contenuti online in modo tale da renderli accessibili al vasto pubblico. Tuttavia, è stato proprio negli ultimi tempi, segnati dalla necessità di abbandonare i luoghi fisici della cultura e della conoscenza quali biblioteche o archivi, che questo bisogno di organizzare gli spazi digitali dedicati alla fruizione del sapere è divenuto improrogabile. La situazione nella quale ci ritroviamo attualmente, caratterizzata dalla presenza del COVID-19, ha rimarcato la necessità di interrogarsi su come questi ambienti possano essere riprogettati a misura di utente, in modo da innalzare il livello di accessibilità e usabilità dei contenuti presenti e aumentarne la chiarezza espositiva, favorendo così l’accrescimento e la diffusione della conoscenza in modo democratico e paritario. Alla luce di queste considerazioni il lavoro di ricerca, che si colloca nell’ambito del design della comunicazione in relazione alle tecnologie dell’informazione e della comunicazione (ICT), si pone come obiettivo quello di dimostrare che l’accessibilità non solo rappresenta un valore contemporaneo necessario per garantire un equo accesso alle informazioni da parte di tutti, ma è uno strumento a supporto di strategie progettuali e comunicative finalizzate alla espansione della conoscenza collettiva. L’obiettivo specifico della tesi è quello di consentire agli archivi universitari di diventare più comunicativi e collaborativi in un sistema di conoscenza democratica e accessibile attraverso lo studio e l’analisi comparativa di modelli digitali già esistenti. Per conseguire questo scopo, la ricerca fornisce inizialmente una panoramica rispetto al ruolo che ricopre l’accessibilità nel contesto del digitale e l’importanza che essa riveste nella diffusione di contenuti sia di natura testuale che multimediale illustrando inoltre i benefici della sua applicazione nell’ambito del design. La seconda parte del lavoro si concentra sulla funzione degli archivi, quali luoghi di conoscenza e fruizione del sapere, fornendo un quadro rispetto ai benefici che la digitalizzazione ha portato in termini di velocità e facilità di accesso ai contenuti depositati, semplificando i meccanismi di ricerca dei dati e riducendo il rischio di perdita degli stessi. Come casi studio, sono stati presi in esame due tipologie di archivio, nello specifico, gli archivi digitali istituzionali universitari e gli archivi di progetto, sviluppati sia da fondazioni culturali, sia da singoli autori. Nel primo caso, attraverso uno studio di tipo comparativo di quattro archivi istituzionali universitari italiani, è stata svolta un’analisi in merito sia all’architettura della navigazione dei portali sia sugli aspetti inerenti all’accessibilità degli stessi con l’obiettivo di estrapolare informazioni utili in merito a differenze e somiglianze tra i casi studio analizzati. La stessa analisi è stata svolta, in un secondo momento, su quattro archivi nazionali ed internazionali dedicati alla raccolta e divulgazione di progetti. Il motivo di tale scelta risiede nel fatto che i primi, presentando delle strutture standardizzate il cui obiettivo è quello di fornire al visitatore informazioni sintetiche e di tipo prevalentemente testuale, non garantiscono di per sé una fruizione dei contenuti tipici di una tesi progettuale il cui contributo scientifico e culturale risiede anche nello sviluppo di elementi di tipo multimediale. Per questo fatto, è stato utile prendere in considerazione anche la seconda tipologia di archivi in quanto, questi ultimi, forniscono maggior risalto alla narrazione progettuale. A seguito dell’analisi condotta, la ricerca ha definito quelle che sono le componenti necessarie per rendere maggiormente accessibile l’enorme patrimonio culturale presente all’interno di questi database, tenendo in considerazione le peculiarità correlate all’accessibilità e fornendo, come output della ricerca, delle indicazioni in merito all’organizzazione delle informazioni presenti negli archivi istituzionali con un focus dedicato anche agli elaborati di carattere progettuale, la cui peculiarità risiede nello sviluppo e realizzazione di elementi multimediali.

Gesetzliche Vorschriften verlangen bei Konstruktion und Inverkehrbringen von Maschinen die Beachtung einer wachsenden Anzahl von Normen und Richtlinien. Zunehmend spielt ebenso die Einhaltung ergonomischer Standards sowohl für den Gesetzgeber als auch für die Kunden eine immer wichtigere Rolle. Die Umsetzung dieser Forderungen gestaltet sich für Konstrukteure durch die Vielzahl von Vorschriften in unterschiedlichsten Quellen schwierig, insbesondere in kleinen und mittelständischen Unternehmen. Die ergonomiegerechte Konstruktion von Maschinen wird in Zukunft, unabhängig von der Unternehmens- und Auftragsgröße, ein wichtiger Erfolgsfaktor für die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit jedes Unternehmens im Maschinenbau sein. Konstrukteure stehen insbesondere vor der Aufgabe, Gesundheitsrisiken für das Bedienpersonal frühzeitig zu erkennen, Belastungssituationen abzuschätzen, ergonomische Problembereiche zu identifizieren und mit geeigneten konzeptuellen Lösungen zu begegnen. Dafür spielen Ergonomiebewertungen innerhalb von Risikoanalysen eine entscheidende Rolle. Ergonomiegerecht konstruierte Maschinen bieten marktrelevante Vorteile für den Hersteller. Neben der Reduzierung von Folgekosten durch Nachrüsten, Service und Support spielt die erhöhte Kundenzufriedenheit eine wichtige Rolle.

La tesi tratta la progettazione di un possibile archivio digitale, e si è naturalmente evoluta all’interno di quelle che sono le più vaste aree semantiche legate alle Humanities ed in particolare alla conservazione di beni culturali. La ricerca, dopo una appropriata analisi, si è scostata dalla tradizionale metodologia progettuale per la costruzione degli archivi, puntando piuttosto verso un metodo innovativo che potesse permettere di rispondere in maniera preventiva alla richiesta di archiviazione, conservazione, tutela, accesso e fruizione di quegli artefatti prodotti dalla cultura contemporanea, ormai incentrata sugli ambienti digitali. In questo senso i progettisti, nel loro gestire questi artefatti per permetterne la conservazione e diffusione, divengono manipolatori della conoscenza e della memoria contemporanea. Questa responsabilità, intrinseca nei processi di archiviazione, implica per i designer il compito di assicurarsi che l’oggetto della conservazione non solo venga tutelato rispetto alla obsolescenza programmata dei software e dei dispositivi elettronici, ma soprattutto, che possa essere fruito in maniera corretta, cioè quanto più esente, per quanto possibile, da influenze manipolatorie. In merito si sottolinea come, grazie all’analisi della letteratura scientifica e dello stato dell’arte di riferimento, si sia cercato di evidenziare come la realizzazione di luoghi virtuali di memoria sia diventato un aspetto centrale della cultura del progetto, vista la sempre più rapida conversione del patrimonio culturale contemporaneo al mondo digitale. Infatti la necessità di digitalizzare gli artefatti non si limita oggi alla sola conservazione del passato, ma si focalizza sul patrimonio contemporaneo stante la sua stessa natura nativa digitale. Inseriti nel campo di ricerca delle Digital Humanities, i diversi progetti avviati in questo contesto includono le attività inerenti lo studio, la ricerca e la divulgazione delle discipline umanistiche, per le quali vengono adottate tecniche e ambienti digitali. Questi progetti dimostrano come la progettazione di sistemi informatici per la costruzione di database enciclopedici (Hockey, 2007), fanno sempre più uso di espedienti profondamente legati ai metodi e alle tecniche della visualizzazione dei dati e dell’information design, per il loro offrire la possibilità di realizzare ambienti di indagine interattivi, la cui esplorazione, permette una innovativa modalità di accesso alla conoscenza. Vista, dunque, la peculiarità delle tematiche trattate, la ricerca, che si articola a partire dalla definizione dell’idea progettuale per poi procedere con l’analisi teorica e metodologica dell’ambito di riferimento, nonché dei casi studio, ha tra gli obiettivi fondamentali quello di andare a individuare una possibile metodologia, nonché identificare i possibili strumenti necessari per la costruzione di archivi digitali, luogo destinato ad essere l’unica memoria del futuro per la conservazione di un patrimonio di conoscenza che nasce digitale. Questo obiettivo è stato perseguito tramite la realizzazione di un archivio-prototipo, che ha visto l’impiego dei metodi e degli strumenti più propri del design delle interfacce, dell’information design, della visualizzazione dei dati, nonché del visual design.

Um effektiv auf neue Marktgegebenheiten reagieren zu können, versuchen Industrieunternehmen ihre internen Geschäftsabläufe schlank und effizient zu halten. Dies stößt jedoch an Grenzen, wenn tradierte Unternehmens-IT im Zuge der digitalen Transformation mit neuen Geschäfts- und Bedienfähigkeiten ausgestattet werden soll. Die Integration von Systemen und Daten sowie die prozessuale Steuerung einer sich neu ordnenden IT-Landschaft verlangt nach neuen Konzepten, die die Besonderheit von kooperativen Wertschöpfungsprozessen berücksichtigen. Der Beitrag stellt die Anwendung der Action Design Research für die Konzeption, Entwicklung, Einführung und Auswertung einer IT-Applikation innerhalb eines Anwendungsfalls der Montageplanung der Automobilproduktion heraus. Dazu wird der Ansatz der Conversational Workflows, ein für die Zusammenarbeit in wissensintensiven, kooperativen Industrieprozessen entwickelter Applikationsaufbau, zur Lösung der Problemstellung herangezogen. Mit Hilfe eines auf den Anwendungsfall angepassten Ablaufs der Action Design Research werden in zwei partizipativen ADR-Zyklen sowohl eine MVP-Version als auch eine produktive Variante einer Web-Applikation für die Materialmodulbereitstellung entwickelt und im Praxissystem erlebbar gemacht. Im Ergebnis konnte sich das Konzept der Conversational Workflows als geeignet herausstellen und lässt zusätzlich Raum für kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklungen. Auf methodischer Seite hat sich gezeigt, dass eine Ergänzung der konzeptionellen ADR-Phasen um Design Thinking zu einer verbesserten Artefaktentwicklung beitragen kann.

Abstract:
Digital circuits designed today are almost exclusively clocked. As designs grow in size it becomes harder to effectively distribute the various clock signals over the circuit. The clock is also a big contribution to the power consumption of a circuit. Some work is being done to provide alternatives to standard synchronous design. One of these alternatives is the Balsa system.Several versions of an asynchronous module for controlling the startup process of a microcontroller was made in Balsa and compared to a standard synchronous implementation. Area estimates for the best asynchronous implementation gives a number that is a factor of over four larger than for the synchronous implementation. The asynchronous implementation has other advantages though. It has no dynamic power consumption when it is in a stable state. Additionally it can operate closer to the sub-threshold area.The asynchronous implementations have been tested and found working in active HDL. Balsa generated verilog netlists in a 350 nm library from the balsa language description. Design Compiler from Synopsys was used to get the area estimates. The asynchronous implementations shows potential, especially with regards to reduced power consumption.

La tecnica acustica di verifica sperimentale del range di protoni (ionoacustica) si basa sul rilevamento del debole segnale termoacustico emesso dalla rapida deposizione di energia che avviene alla fine range del fascio, in corrispondenza del picco di Bragg. In questo contesto, questa tesi presenta le principali caratteristiche della strumentazione microelettronica utilizzata per i Proton Sound Detector introducendo specifiche tecniche di progettazione fortemente orientate sia alla massimizzazione del Rapporto Segnale Rumore SNR (a livello di sensore acustico) che minimizzazione della figura di rumore (a livello di amplificatore analogico). La prima parte di questa tesi tratta delle sfide strumentali relative agli esperimenti ionoacustici fornendo dettagli tecnici specifici riguardanti sia la progettazione del sensore acustico (ovvero come costruire il sensore massimizzando l'SNR) sia il design dell'amplificatore a basso rumore (LNA). Verranno presentati i risultati sperimentali di un primo esperimento effettuato presso il Laboratorio Maier-Leibniz di Garching, Monaco, con un fascio di protoni a 20 MeV (scenario preclinico) e verrà mostrato come una progettazione elettronica dedicata a segnali misti permetta di migliorare significativamente il rapporto segnale-rumore e l'accuratezza della localizzazione del picco di Bragg di 6 dB. In questo contesto, questo primo sviluppo del rivelatore raggiunge due importanti obiettivi: il miglioramento dell'SNR a parità di dose e una forte semplificazione della strumentazione del rivelatore rispetto allo stato dell'arte, consentendo una maggiore precisione della misurazione dell'impulso acustico, e allo stesso tempo incrementando la portabilità e la compattezza del dispositivo. Nelle applicazioni cliniche di adroterapia, l'energia del fascio (da 65 MeV fino a 200 MeV) e la dose vengono scelte in funzione dello specifico scenario clinico. Ciò comporta segnali acustici di ampiezza e larghezza di banda diverse, costringendo l’adozione di soluzioni tecnologiche avanzate in grado di gestire un ampio spettro di segnali in termini di larghezza di banda, ampiezza e rumore. Per questo motivo, la seconda parte di questa tesi propone un modello Matlab efficiente e innovativo del fenomeno fisico ionoacustico, che condensa in un unico sistema lineare tempo invariante tutti i processi di conversione dell'energia coinvolti. Il modello ionoacustico proposto sostituisce i complessi strumenti di simulazione classici (usati per caratterizzare il segnale acustico indotto dal fascio di protoni) e facilita lo sviluppo di rivelatori dedicati fornendo una descrizione precisa del segnale acustico nei diversi scenari. Infine, verrà presentato il progetto di una seconda versione del Proton Sound Detector che introduce il concetto di media nel dominio dello spazio (invece della media nel dominio del tempo, basata sull’elaborazione di più shot del fascio che comporta una significativa extra-dose). Questo rilevatore utilizza un sensore multicanale per eseguire una media spaziale dei segnali acquisiti e aumentare l'SNR di 18 dB a parità di dose rispetto al classico approccio monocanale. Questo approccio tuttavia richiede lo sviluppo di elettronica altamente miniaturizzata che non può essere implementata con componenti standard su circuiti stampati. Viene quindi presentato il progetto e la caratterizzazione di un front-end analogico multicanale implementato su un Application-Specified-Integrated-Circuit (ASIC) in tecnologia CMOS 28 nm che permette di elaborare in parallelo tutti i 64 canali del sensore acustico. Questo High-Resolution Proton Sound Detector (HR-ProSD) è completato da un circuito digitale dedicato implementato su FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) che consente di mappare in tempo reale e 2D la deposizione di dose nello spazio.<br>Acoustic proton range experimental verification technique (iono-acoustics) is based on sensing the weak thermoacoustic signal emitted by the fast energy deposition (and/or the heating process) at the end of the beam range (Bragg Peak). In this context, this thesis presents the main characteristics of the micro-electronics instrumentation used for proton sound detectors introducing specific design techniques strongly oriented to both maximization of the acoustic Signal-to-Noise-Ratio (at the Acoustic Sensor level) and Noise-Figure minimization (at analog amplifier level). The first part of this thesis addresses all the instrumentation challenges related to iono-acoustic experiments providing specific technical details regarding both acoustic sensor design (i.e. how to build the sensor while maximizing the SNR) and the LNA design. The experimental results of a first experiment carried out at Maier-Leibniz Laboratory in Garching, Munich, with a proton beam at 20 MeV (sub-clinical energy) will be presented and it will be shown how a dedicated mixed-signal electronics design allows to significantly improve the signal-to-noise ratio and the accuracy of the BP localization by 6 dB. In this context, this first detector development achieves two important objectives: the improvement of the acoustic SNR and a strong simplification of the detector instrumentation w.r.t. state-of-the-art, enabling increasing accuracy of the acoustic pulse measurement, and at the same time the portability and compactness of the device. In clinical hadron-therapy applications, variable beam energy (from 65 MeV up to 200 MeV) and variable doses are used as a function of the selected medical treatment. This induces different acoustic pulses amplitude and bandwidth, forcing advanced technological solutions capable of handling a wide spectrum of signals in terms of bandwidth, amplitude, and noise. For this reason, the second part of this thesis proposes an efficient and innovative Matlab Model of the ionoacoustic physical phenomenon, based on englobing in a single mathematical Linear-Time-Invariant-System all energy conversion processes involved in iono-acoustics. The proposed ionoacoustics model replaces classical and complex simulation tools (used to characterize the proton induced acoustic signal) and facilitates the development of dedicated detectors. Finally, the design of a second version of the Proton Sound Detector will be presented that introduces the concept of space-domain averaging (instead of time-domain averaging based on multiple beam shot processing for noise attenuation and thus extra-doses). This detector uses a multi-channel sensor to perform a spatial average of the acquired signals and increase the SNR by 18 dB at the same dose compared to the classic single channel approach. This approach however requires the development of highly miniaturized electronics that cannot be implemented with off-the-shelf components on Printed Circuit Boards. The design and characterization of a multichannel analog front-end implemented on a CMOS 28 nm Application-Specified-Integrated-Circuit (ASIC) which allows to process the 64 channels of the acoustic sensor in parallel is then presented. This High-Resolution Proton Sound Detector (HR-ProSD) is completed by digital circuits implemented on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) that allow to locate in real time the deposition of energy in space.

Oggi anche le piccole realtà museali sono chiamate a uscire dai propri confini per guardare oltre, sviluppare nuove attività per accrescere il proprio network di riferimento e stringere solide alleanze anche all’esterno. Il presente percorso di ricerca si pone nella prospettiva di valorizzare il patrimonio culturale immateriale di una piccola realtà museale attraverso il supporto delle tecnologie. La sede selezionata come caso specifico di studio è il Museu do brinquedo da Ilha de Santa Catarina, situato nel campus dell’Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), in Brasile. Tale museo rappresenta il caso di studio pilota per la creazione di un modello interattivo e digitale di fruizione museale attraverso l’utilizzo di piattaforme open source, con l’obiettivo di ampliare la portata di pubblico dei piccoli musei, che costituiscono la maggioranza del patrimonio culturale a livello mondiale, oltre a promuovere pratiche inclusive delle minoranze etniche, come gli Indios dello stato di Santa Catarina. Lo studio realizzato, mira a ricercare le caratteristiche antropologiche principali e i costumi delle culture indigene dello stato di Santa Caterina e permette di tracciare un cammino attraverso il mondo dell’infanzia espresso nell´immaginario del gioco. Il progetto ha previsto la realizzazione di una esposizione fotografica sui giochi tradizionali all’interno delle tribù Xokleng dello stato di Santa Catarina, tenutasi presso il rettorato del Campus della UFSC. A tale esposizione è stato affiancato un percorso virtuale, offerto ai visitatori tramite una piattaforma digitale e coadiuvato dall’utilizzo di QR code, che hanno arricchito l’esperienza di visita espositiva. Il percorso didattico-digitale proposto mira a garantire il rispetto, l'accesso e il riconoscimento a differenti concezioni di educazione, museo, infanzia e diversità socio-culturale.<br>Today even small museums are called to go beyond their borders, developing new activities to increase their reference network and make solid alliances also outside. This research path is aimed at enhancing the intangible cultural heritage of a small museum through the support of technologies. The site selected as a specific case study is the Museu do brinquedo da Ilha de Santa Catarina, located on the campus of the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), in Brazil. This museum represents the pilot case study for the creation of an interactive and digital model through the use of open source platforms, with the aim of expanding the public of small museums, which constitute the majority of the cultural heritage worldwide, as well as promoting inclusive practices of ethnic minorities, such as the Indios of the Santa Catarina state. The study aims to research the main anthropological characteristics and customs of the indigenous cultures of the state of Santa Caterina and allows to trace a path through the world of childhood expressed in the imagination of the game. The project involved the creation of a photographic exhibition on traditional games within the Xokleng tribes of the state of Santa Catarina. A virtual path was added to this exhibition, offered to visitors through a digital platform and supported by the use of QR codes, which enriched the experience of the exhibition visit. The proposed didactic-digital design aims to guarantee respect, access and recognition to different conceptions of education, museum, childhood and socio-cultural diversity.

<p>Three algorithms for video scaling were developed and tested in software, for implementation on an FPGA. Two of the algorithms were implemented in a video scaler system. These two algorithms scale up with factors 1.25 and 1.875, which is used for scaling SD WIDE to HD resolution and SD WIDE to FullHD resolution, respectively. An algorithm with scaling factor 1.5, scaling HD to FullHD, was also discussed, but not implemented. The video scaler was tested with a verilog testbench provided by ARM. When passing the testbench, the video scaler system was loaded on an FPGA. Results from the FPGA were compared with the software algorithms and the simulation results from the testbench. The video scaler implemented on the FPGA produced predictable results. Even though a fully functional video scaler was made, there were not time left to create the necessary software drivers and application software that would be needed to run the video scaler in real time with live video output. So a comparison of the output from the implemented algorithms is performed with common scaling algorithms used in video scalers, such as bilinear interpolation and bicubic interpolation. This thesis also deal with graphics scaling. Some well-known algorithms for graphic scaling were written in software, including a self-made algorithm to suit hardware. These algorithms were not implemented in hardware, but comparison of the results are performed.</p>

La tesi analizza e approfondisce l’influenza delle tecnologie digitali nella danza contemporanea, domandandosi quali siano gli apporti del design dell’interazione in questo ambito. I cambiamenti subiti dalla danza negli ultimi anni, infatti, hanno dimostrato come il movimento del danzatore possa venire ricostruito e reinterpretato attraverso le tecnologie digitali. Si assiste alla produzione di artefatti e dispositivi digitali (CD, DVD, siti web, intelligenze artificiali) che hanno ampliato i confini della danza. Tali artefatti vengono qui definiti come dispositivi coreografici: non sono sostituti della danza dal vivo ma il prodotto di una pratica interdisciplinare e collaborativa che mira a visualizzare, comprendere e trasmettere il progetto coreografico. I casi studio scelti sono analizzati non tanto per la loro ricaduta estetica quanto per le modalità secondo cui sono progettati i supporti, enfatizzandone gli elementi di rottura (cap. 1). Attraverso un approccio speculativo che incorpora esperienze pratiche, analizzando i dispositivi e intervistando i protagonisti, e prospettive teoriche, avvalendosi di studi che hanno enfatizzato la collaborazione tra danza e design dell’interazione, emerge chiara l’idea che è il sistema collaborativo a dare forma al progetto, modellando il prodotto finito. Se i dispositivi coreografici sono il frutto di uno scambio di conoscenze tra professionalità diverse, vengono presi in considerazione i nuovi ruoli assunti dal danzatore e dal coreografo, in relazione alle tecnologie in uso (cap. 2). Viene così introdotta la figura del progettista dell’interazione, inteso come designer dramaturg attorno cui ruotano le continue negoziazioni tra dimensione corporea e possibilità tecnologiche. Vengono, dunque, astratti alcuni principi progettuali, tanto per comprendere l’idea di performatività in relazione alle tecnologie digitali, quanto per posizionare il designer dell’interazione nell’orizzonte delle pratiche performative contemporanee (cap. 3). Tale operazione permette di affermare che lo sviluppo dei dispositivi coreografici produce conoscenze che possono essere trasposte al di fuori del settore performativo. Il corpo viene riconosciuto non in quanto soggetto, ma materia della sperimentazione tecnologica: la pratica della danza diviene un luogo di collaborazione nel quale sperimentare e ripensare le interazioni con gli oggetti della vita quotidiana.

ZusammenfassungUnser Schulsystem braucht digital kompetente Lehrkräfte. Daher ist es unumgänglich, Lehramtsstudierende mit diesen Kompetenzen auszustatten. Dieser Beitrag befasst sich mit der Frage danach, ob die Förderung digitaler Kompetenzen im Lehramtsstudium an deutschen Universitäten stattfindet und wie eine solche Förderung aussehen kann. Dafür wurde eine Dokumentenanalyse durchgeführt und anschließend ein Seminar zur Förderung der berufsbezogenen digitalen Kompetenzen von Lehramtsstudierenden konzipiert und evaluiert. Als Kompetenzrahmen diente dabei der Europäische Rahmen für die digitale Kompetenz von Lehrenden (Redecker, 2017). Das Seminar wurde in einem Pre-Post-Design auf seine Wirksamkeit untersucht. Alle Teilnehmenden schätzten nach Beendigung des Seminars ihre digitale Kompetenz als verbessert ein. Vermutete Effekte in Bezug auf den Einfluss des Faktors MINT-Studium auf die digitale Kompetenz konnten, auch aufgrund der kleinen Stichprobengröße, nicht festgestellt werden. Die Aussagen zur Wirksamkeit sind ebenfalls nur eingeschränkt zu betrachten, da unter den Teilnehmenden keine Anfängerinnen und Anfänger waren. Hier gilt es, weitere Untersuchungen anzustellen.

Wie können wir digitale Materialbibliotheken so verwenden, dass diese der „wahren“ Oberflächen(-Ästhetik), entsprechend unseren physisch erlebbaren Welten entsprechen? Wir entwickeln die interaktiven Entwurfsräume der Zukunft „sur face“, über das „Gesicht“ des Materials. Mittels Matrix und digitalem Duktus und im vis à vis von analogen und digitalen vernetzt designen, kommen wir der Anforderung von human centred design der textilen Zukunftswelten näher.

Um effektiv auf neue Marktgegebenheiten reagieren zu können, versuchen Industrieunternehmen ihre internen Geschäftsabläufe schlank und effizient zu halten. Dies stößt jedoch an Grenzen, wenn tradierte Unternehmens-IT im Zuge der digitalen Transformation mit neuen Geschäfts- und Bedienfähigkeiten ausgestattet werden soll. Die Integration von Systemen und Daten sowie die prozessuale Steuerung einer sich neu ordnenden IT-Landschaft verlangt nach neuen Konzepten, die die Besonderheit von kooperativen Wertschöpfungsprozessen berücksichtigen. Der Beitrag stellt die Anwendung der Action Design Research für die Konzeption, Entwicklung, Einführung und Auswertung einer IT-Applikation innerhalb eines Anwendungsfalls der Montageplanung der Automobilproduktion heraus. Dazu wird der Ansatz der Conversational Workflows, ein für die Zusammenarbeit in wissensintensiven, kooperativen Industrieprozessen entwickelter Applikationsaufbau, zur Lösung der Problemstellung herangezogen. Mit Hilfe eines auf den Anwendungsfall angepassten Ablaufs der Action Design Research werden in zwei partizipativen ADR-Zyklen sowohl eine MVP-Version als auch eine produktive Variante einer Web-Applikation für die Materialmodulbereitstellung entwickelt und im Praxissystem erlebbar gemacht. Im Ergebnis konnte sich das Konzept der Conversational Workflows als geeignet herausstellen und lässt zusätzlich Raum für kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklungen. Auf methodischer Seite hat sich gezeigt, dass eine Ergänzung der konzeptionellen ADR-Phasen um Design Thinking zu einer verbesserten Artefaktentwicklung beitragen kann.

Today, we are witnessing the effects that the COVID-19 pandemic has had, and is still having, on social, economic and cultural life worldwide. In particular, the educational dimension has seen the regular operating of schools altered, with an indeterminate closure of educational institutions, as well as the impossibility to perform face-to-face lectures, and their transposition to digital platforms (Sà et Serpa, 2020). These difficult conditions can be a moment of opportunity to accelerate a process of digital transformation that was beginning to shift in higher education institutions (HEIs). HEIs are using digital transformation strategies to refine how they work, to digitalize their existing operations while designing new digital models, to create entirely new digital models or to fully digitize their current ones (Rodrigues 2017). In the European fashion education system this can result in addressing the transformative challenges that are nurturing the discussion on the future of HEIs (Moja, 2008; Sterling, 2011; Fletcher and Williams, 2013). Therefore, digital innovation becomes the means by which implementing a positive transformation of the sector on key issues that will permeate our daily lives and that can no longer be postponed. Among the pivotal topics there is sustainability which today is slowly trying to establish itself (Wolff, 2020). Trough the analysis of best practices, this paper will decode current behaviors in Fashion Design for Sustainability (FDfS) throughout the European fashion education system.

La transformación digital puede beneficiar a un sector de la población y, al mismo tiempo, acentuar las desigualdades de otro. Esta investigación tiene el objetivo de conocer el acceso que tienen las mujeres indígenas a las tecnologías digitales en zonas rurales, reconocer las barreras, catalizadores y sueños, y crear colectivamente las propuestas para eliminar la brecha digital de género en sus comunidades. Las comunidades indígenas participantes son el pueblo nasa (Colombia) y el pueblo ch’orti’ (Guatemala). La metodología combina diferentes herramientas, como las herramientas de investigaciones de género en acceso a internet y uso, Facebook Ads, diagnósticos participativos, Design Thinking y análisis cualitativo. Los resultados encontrados son: el acceso a las tecnologías digitales es precario, no empodera y es inseguro. Las violencias, la asequibilidad y las normas sociales son las principales barreras para el acceso a las tecnologías digitales, y la violencia sexual es la mayor barrera para las niñas indígenas. Los sueños de las mujeres indígenas respecto a las tecnologías digitales son tecnologías para fortalecer el sentir, vivir y pensar como pueblos originarios. Este trabajo presenta estrategias para eliminar la brecha de género, que son relevantes para la cooperación internacional y los actores locales. Se concluye que el ODS 5 (meta 5b) debería incluir la implementación de soluciones tecnológicas que permitan el empoderamiento, y la transformación digital en la ruralidad requiere una agenda conjunta entre los gobiernos, la cooperación internacional y las organizaciones de mujeres indígenas.
