Abstract:
Health Education. The aim of education is to impart knowledge on the causes of disease and decay of the teeth and periodontium, on the ways and possibilities of disease prevention and adequate treatment; to point out to the necessity of proper nutrition, regular and proper oral hygiene, proper use of fluoride products as well as to the significance of regular check-ups with a dentist. Nutrition. Frequent intake of carbohydrates leads to a higher prevalence of caries. Taking into consideration that it is neither obtainable nor recommendable to completely eliminate glucoses from the nutrition components, it is necessary to advice parents and children to take glucose (if possible) only along with the regular meal when the saliva flow is increased. Oral Hygiene. In order to establish oral hygiene as an important prophylactic measure influencing successful protection of oral health of the whole population, it is necessary to inform as many people as possible about oral hygiene effectiveness and its necessity in preventing oral and dental diseases; to develop the habits of regular oral hygiene maintenance in the youngest children as well as to refer them to the use of most adequate paraphernalia and agents for performing the daily oral hygiene procedures. Fluoride prophylaxis. Undoubtedly, fluoride is currently the most efficient agent for the prevention of dental pathology. The anticaries efficacy of fluoride is a consequence of the cumulative effect of several different mechanisms. They can occur on the dental surface or directly influence the mineral phase in the enamel. Each dental hygiene preventive program must include the content about the use of fluoride as the basic prophylactic measure. It is recommended to be the sum of the combined effect of systemic (endogenic) and local (exogenic) application. Conclusion. Regarding high prevalence of caries in children, the issue of prophylaxis is of great significance and current interest. In that respect, health education should point out to the significance of proper nutrition, regular oral hygiene and fluoride prophylaxis, all aimed at preventing denial diseases. It is certain that parents must take an active part in these activities both as educators and controllers of the proposed measures. .

Abstract:
ABSTRACT The aim of dental health education is to impart knowledge on the causes of oral diseases and providing the ways and possibilities of their prevention and adequate treatment. Health education would highlight the necessity of proper nutrition, maintenance of oral hygiene with the use of fluoride products, and other regimen as well as drive attention toward the significance of regular check-ups with a dentist. Public health dentistry in India has become the only key toward future dental workforce and strategies. There have been numerous challenges which exist for expanding oral health care in India, in which the biggest challenge is the need for dental health planners with relevant qualifications and training in public health dentistry. There is a serious lack of authentic and valid data for assessment of community demands, as well as the lack of an organized system for monitoring oral health care services to guide planners. Based on the aim for sustained development, human resource planning and utilization should be used along with a system of monitoring and evaluation. Hence, both demand and supply influence the ability of the dental workforce to adequately and efficiently provide dental care to an Indian population which is growing in size and diversity. Abstract:
The present quasi-experimental study evaluated the effectiveness of a dental education program implemented at the Tuntatacto Educational Unit during the last quarter of the 2022-2023 academic year. The intervention included interactive workshops, distribution of dental hygiene kits, and teaching proper brushing and flossing techniques, specifically targeting the experimental group, while the control group did not receive these activities. The results indicated significant improvements in oral hygiene knowledge and practices in the experimental group compared to the control group, demonstrating the importance of incorporating dental education into the school curriculum. Data collected through pre- and post-intervention questionnaires showed an increase in awareness about the importance of dental care, regularity of brushing, flossing, and parental supervision in dental hygiene in the group that received the education. Additionally, a reduction in anxiety toward dental visits and greater acceptance of common dental procedures was observed. This study highlights the preeminence of early, practical educational interventions in dental health promotion, which not only improves children's immediate oral health but also establishes a solid foundation for long-term healthy oral hygiene practices. The implications detected suggest that similar programs could be effectively replicated in different educational contexts to strengthen dental education and prevent dental diseases from an early age

Abstract:
Good dental health is what everyone expects, but in fact, public attention to dental and oral health is still quite low, most people underestimate the health of their teeth. This can be seen in the many cases of dental caries and cavities. Symptoms of dental pain begin with the occurrence of dental caries and will continue to become large and affect the dental nerves, causing pain. This incident is because most parents pay less attention to the dental health of children under five, especially the lack of attention in brushing their teeth at night and also getting used to consuming formula milk in toddlers before going to bed. Therefore it is necessary to carry out socialization regarding efforts to maintain dental and oral health to obtain maximum body health. The socialization program was carried out with lectures and demonstrations using video media, posters and dental displays. The socialization activities went well and smoothly with the high enthusiasm of the participants in listening, asking, and answering questions so that a pleasant atmosphere was created and the participants were able to practice how to brush their teeth properly. So it can be concluded that the socialization program that was carried out was effective in increasing knowledge and awareness of dental and oral health in children in rural areas.

Abstract:
Background/Aims: Dental anxiety is a common problem which develops mostly in childhood. The level of dental anxiety perceived by the primary schoolers were determined with Facial Image Scale (FIS) while receiving oral dental health education in their classroom environment. Methods: FIS were applied to 163 third-grade primary schoolers while they were having oral health education course in an interactive way. Gender, white dental attire, and past dental experience(s) were pre-determined variables evaluating the pattern of dental anxiety in the third-grade primary schoolers in this study. Results: The overall anxiety level in children was 46.01%, with no significant difference observed between genders (p=0.4593). Students who were educated by instructors wearing white dental attire were more likely to have a 1&2 FIS score (OR: 3.9 (1.3-11.7); p=0.0156). However, students who had past dental experience expressed significantly more 4&5 FIS scores (OR: 4.38 (2.17-8.85); p < 0.001). Conclusions: Regardless of gender white dental attire created a positive perception in 9-year-old students, but the presence of past dental experience and a history of tooth extraction especially under local anesthesia caused negative perception in the study.

Abstract:
Health professional education and careers have witnessed major changes across the world during the last two decades of the twentieth century, and India is no exception to this. This article examines the current situation of dental education in India and explores the processes which have led to its commercialization, despite the existence of policy initiatives specifically intended for its regulation. Using the health policy triangle framework of Walt and Gilson, we attempt to understand the contexts and processes of commercialization of dental education and the development of the major regulatory policy initiatives in the sector. Secondary data analysis (regarding the growth of dental education), document analysis (policy and legal) and literature review (about higher education in India specifically medical and dental) are the methods used. The analysis brings to light the failure of policy initiatives in the past three decades by the regulatory bodies of the country, to curb the uncontrolled growth and commercialization of dental education. The Indian experience brings home the critical lesson that drafting relevant policies will not guarantee results, especially when they are to be implemented in the absence of a favourable political climate.

Abstract:
The prevalence rate of dental caries has experienced an increasing trend from year to year, so that the condition of dental and oral health problems in Indonesia is still worrying, especially for elementary school children. The high number of dental health problems is caused by many factors, one of which is the low level of dental health maintenance behavior. Promotive and preventive measures are needed to prevent dental and oral health problems, namely by providing dental and oral health education. Poster media is a medium or prop/tool that can be used to convey messages from communicators to the audience. Staircase poster media is a development of general poster media, this media is designed for the sequence/stages of maintaining dental health which are attached to the school steps. Objective: This research is to analyze the effectiveness of stair poster media in improving the dental health behavior of elementary school children. Method: This research used a non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design. The research sample was 125 people taken using purposive sampling technique. The intervention group was given dental health education using posters, while the control group was given dental health education using filpchart. Data were tested using Wilcoxon test analysis, namely a pre-post design, while to compare the means of the treatment and control groups, the Mann Whitney test was used. Results: The results of the test of differences in knowledge, attitudes and actions of brushing teeth show that the p-value between the intervention group and the control group is 0.000 (p <0.05), meaning that there is a difference between the values of knowledge, attitudes and actions of brushing teeth after dental health education with children's poster media. steps and dental health education with filpchart. Conclusion: dental health education using stair poster media is more effective in increasing the knowledge, attitudes and actions of brushing teeth in elementary school children compared to dental health education using flipcharts Keywords: Stair poster, media, dental health, behavior
