Abstract:
From the middle-20th century to today, video games have grown from an idiosyncratic interest of computer programmers and engineers to a globally dominant form of media entertainment. Advances in technology and creativity have combined to present players with interactive experience that vary in their cognitive, emotional, physical, and social complexity. That video games constitute co-authored experiences—dialogues between the player and the system—is at least one explanation for their appeal, but this co-authorship brings with it an enhanced set of requirements for the player’s attention. For this thematic issue, researchers were invited to debate and examine the cognitive, emotional, physical, and social demands of video games; their work (as well as the impetus for this work) is summarized below.

Abstract:
Abstract The primary form of generated power on any typical aircraft (Tactical, Airlift, Commercial) requires conversion in multiple different forms (voltage levels, aircraft compliant frequency) and at various power levels to meet the total needs of the vehicle. DC:AC Power Conversion (Inverters), AC-DC Generator (conditioning) electronics, AC-AC frequency conditioning and DC:DC Power Conversion are all forms of conversion within the power system (primary, secondary tiers) typical of any aircraft. Additionally, within the power distribution network often solid state power switches in later generation aircraft and fighters are used to control and manage power (control power ramp-up for example) to loads and isolate electrical faults. The conditioning, conversion and control of this power with high reliability devices can often occur in more extreme environments (high temperatures, high vibration and confined spaces) and can present challenging issues for aerospace and specifically aircraft. Weight objectives can further add to the challenges. This paper will discuss, at largely a level based on acquired and compiled lessons learned, some of the aforementioned challenges including the susceptibility to both electrically and mechanically induced failure modes in power devices encountered in aircraft. The paper will also discuss the notion that while Wide Band Gap (WBG) technology may be the right answer in some/many applications, it may not be the answer in achieving high reliability given a specific combination of application and operating conditions. Reliability issues can be focused around: a) packaging optimization, b) manufacturing tolerances and c) selecting the right vendor to do the job. Further, the ability to receive adequate forms of cooling from the aircraft (if not otherwise constrained and if cooling margins permit) to power electronics will also be discussed as an obvious and significant driver in maintaining high reliability and integrity in more demanding (and higher power) applications. Trade assessments that can occur with specific generator electronics will be discussed at a non-specific, and generalized, level. The main body of the paper will be concluded with a discussion on the potential application of WBG technology in a variety of applications mentioned for aircraft while pointing out unique aspects that may be relevant in the future adoption of this technology. Finally, a conclusion will be provided reiterating various points throughout the paper and areas of potential follow-on activity.

Abstract:
IC technology, which has traditionally been dominated by dimensional scaling, is facing several technical and economic hurdles as it moves forward. Low K insulation has not been able to meet performance projections, copper traces are becoming more and more resistive, clock rates have been constrained due to thermal issues and multicore processors are demanding major increases in bandwidth and decreases in latency. Economic constraints will also begin limiting the number of IC companies able to develop leading-edge IC designs. Moving past 45 nm digital CMOS scaling will no longer guarantee lower cost and higher performance. All of these issues have crated a “perfect storm scenario” for the widespread adoption of 3D IC technology.

Abstract:
The evolution of modern communications and information technology sparked a revolution of unprecedented proportions, bringing about an explosion in terms of users and capabilities, as well as increasing demands for both security and privacy. To meet these security demands, new technologies are evolving that can in fact provide a secure and protected environment. At the same time, however, the technology-development path is being increasingly impacted by two other major dynamics: the legal environment and user expectations with respect to privacy. Within the past four years in particular, several major court decisions as well as the official release of documents and illicit “leaks” have drawn enormous attention to what privacy protections must be afforded to various types of data and communications. Users, increasingly aware of intrusions into their data and communications—ranging from intelligence services to hackers and criminals—are demanding greater levels of protection. While technological approaches to greater privacy are possible, they are not costfree— particularly in terms of the computational overhead and other constraints imposed on new systems.

Abstract The article is devoted to the complete design of an intelligent barrier that uses piezoelectric ceramic transducers as transmitter of an acoustic signal and as a receiver. There is a relatively rich device base on the market for these transducers. These transducers are also not economically demanding. The barrier is composed of three identical bars. A continues wave rectangular signal generation is used for excitation of the converters on the transmitting side. The receiving side is more complex. A signal from the receiving transducer is first analog pre-processed and converted to logical values of 0 or 1. Subsequently, these signals are processed in a microcontroller system, evaluated and a possible alarm of a presence of an intruder is signaled using a display, a light-emitting diode and a piezoelectric siren. The display also shows the number of alarms. Some intelligence is added to the system by classifying a potential intruder. The functionality of the system is verified in a detail and discussed.

Abstract Forfeiture is a contractual right under the lease which is a right preserved under Section 24 (2) of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954. Landlords need to be careful when demanding or accepting rent when they become aware of a breach of a term. If a landlord wants to forfeit as a result of a breach (and they have the right to forfeit as is provided for in their lease) and there is rent due, they should not demand or accept rent accruing beyond the date they become aware of the breach, as this would likely amount to a waiver. Under section 146 notice under the Law of Property Act (LPA) 1925 to indicate an intention to forfeit the lease the landlords need to be careful when demanding or accepting rent when they become aware of a breach of a term. This article will consider the process of forfeiture in English law and the consequences of waiver by the landlord of breach of term in the lease.

However, the RC bearing wall method was the course to increase a wet method and to increase a wet method was a longer a construction duration & input an abundant labor and it is the actual condition to drop a qualification for increasing the unit cost of construction & oncoming age of a skilled worker & a skill falling. So, it is going to be higher the demanding of dry wall method to be changeable throughout being the higher of social demanding on the long-life housing of demanding recently. Therefore, in this study, it would compare & analyze the productivity of lightweight concrete dry wall method (LDWM) and the RC bearing wall method (BWM).

Abstract:
Fuzzy Set Theory has been developed during the last decades to a demanding mathematical theory. There exist more than 50,000 publications in this area by now. Unluckily the number of reports on applications of fuzzy technology has become very scarce. The reasons for that are manifold: Real applications are normally not single-method-applications but rather complex combinations of different techniques, which are not suited for a publication in a journal. Sometimes considerations of competition my play a role, and sometimes the theoretical core of an application is not suited for publication. In this paper we shall focus on applications of fuzzy technology on real problems in business management. Two versions of fuzzy technology will be used: Fuzzy Knowledge based systems and fuzzy clustering. It is assumed that the reader is familiar with basic fuzzy set theory and the goal of the paper is, to show that the potential of applying fuzzy technology in management is still very large and hardly exploited so far.

Abstract:
Currently, the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries are moving through a period of unparalleled change. Major multinational pharmaceutical companies are restructuring, consolidating, merging and more importantly critically assessing their competitiveness to ensure constant growth in an ever-more demanding market where the cost of developing novel products is continuously increasing. The pharmaceutical manufacturing processes currently in existence for the production of solid oral dosage forms are associated with significant disadvantages and in many instances provide many processing problems. Therefore, it is well accepted that there is an increasing need for alternative processes to dramatically improve powder processing, and more importantly to ensure that acceptable, reproducible solid dosage forms can be manufactured. Consequently, pharmaceutical companies are beginning to invest in innovative processes capable of producing solid dosage forms that better meet the needs of the patient while providing efficient manufacturing operations. This article discusses two emerging solid dosage form manufacturing technologies, namely hot-melt extrusion and fluidized hot-melt granulation.

Abstract:
Teacher-driven personalisation can be challenging to facilitate, especially in large heterogeneous classes and during demanding courses. Because of the growing digitalisation, more possibilities arise towards technology-driven personalisation. Nonetheless, little is known about how teachers interact with or implement digital personalised learning (DPL) tools in the classroom. This study explores two research questions: (RQ1) what personalisation strategies are enacted by teachers while implementing a DPL-tool for programming? and (RQ2) how does the teacher–technology interaction take shape? A qualitative multiple case study was established, comprising four cases (two pairs of co-teachers and two teachers who teach individually) implementing a DPL-track for programming in first grade of secondary education (12-to-14-year-old students). Within-case and cross-case analyses of interviews and observations revealed that, although the technology-driven personalisation remained unchanged over the cases, teachers used different personalisation strategies while enacting the DPL-track. Subsequently, various forms of the teacher–technology relationship were observed. Based on the findings, (1) a teacher–technology interaction continuum and (2) a new concept, i.e., ‘the teacher–technology nexus’, are presented as they can be of value for the elaboration of theory on the implementation of DPL-tools in real life classrooms.

Abstract:
Abstract Bilayer and multi-layer tablets are enjoying growing popularity among original drug and generic product manufacturers. Multi-layer tablets have many key benefits compared to classic immediate-release tablets. The use of such solid oral dosage forms simplifies dosing regimens in combination therapy, and thus improves patient compliance. However, the technology of multilayer tablets is demanding and requires precise choice of excipients and production parameters with regard to each technological step. The main benefits of multi-layer tablets, certain aspects of their production and the challenges encountered during the compression process are reviewed in this paper.

Abstract:
The last 40 years have seen huge innovations in computing and in the availability of data. Data derived from millions of administrative records or by using (as we do) new methods of data generation such as text mining are now common. New data often requires new methods, which in turn can inspire new data collection. If history is any guide, some methods will stick and others will prove to be a flash in the pan. However, the larger trends toward demanding greater credibility and transparency from researchers in applied economics and a 'collage' approach to assembling evidence will likely continue.

Abstract:
This work reviews the work made in last years to produce thermoplastic matrix towpregs to highly demanding and more cost-effective commercial applications using a powder coating technology developed in Portugal by Minho and Porto Universities. Different thermoplastic matrices and continuous fibre reinforcements were used in the towpregs produced for highly demanding markets (e.g., carbon fibre reinforced PrimospireÒ towpreg) and for more commercial applications (e.g., glass fibre reinforced polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride towpregs). The relevant processing parameters, such as, fibre pull-speed and furnace temperature were varied to determine their influence on the polymer mass fraction obtained in the studied raw materials. Several technologies were also developed and used (compression moulding, pultrusion and filament winding) to process composite parts with adequate properties for the envisaged markets at compatible production rates. The obtained results lead us to conclude that the studied thermoplastic matrix towpregs and their processed composite parts have very interesting conditions for being applied both in highly advanced and cost-effective markets.

Abstract:
As the capacity of wind power continues to increase globally, stricter requirements regarding grid connection of wind generators are introduced by system operators. The development of wind turbine technology is inevitably affected by the new grid codes, and wind power plants are expected to support the grid and provide ancillary services much like conventional power plants. The most demanding regulations are found in Europe where wind penetration levels are higher. This paper presents the main aspects of current grid code requirements for the integration of wind power in European countries and suggests performance characteristics in order to satisfy the most demanding requirements. The dynamic behavior of wind turbines with doubly fed induction generators is investigated and a solution for low voltage ride through compliance is presented.
