Abstract:
The purpose of the current study was to estimate immunity of the winter grain varieties sown in the south of Russia to the pink snow mold pathogen (Microdochium nivale (Fr.) Samuels & I.C. Hallett) in the sprouting phase. For resistance to M. nivale there have been studied 35 winter wheat varieties sown in the south of the Russian Federation, 19 winter barley varieties and 4 variety samples and 13 winter triticale varieties developed in the LLC “Agrostandart”, FSBSI RCG named after P.P. Lukyanenko, FSBSI FRC Kabardino-Balkarian Research Center of the RAS, FSBSI “ARC Donskoy”, FSBSI “North Caucasian FRSC”, FSBSI “FRAC”, NPO “KUBANZERNO”, FSBEI HE “KubSAU”. There has been substantiated a methodological approach to conducting research on immunological estimation of winter grain varieties in the laboratory conditions. The optimal temperature for the cultivation of the pathogen was +10/+15 °C (with a photoperiod of 12 hours). There was found that the required temperature to stimulate sporulation was +5 °C. The optimum temperature for the incubation period was +5 °C at 85% humidity. There has been established that the only winter wheat variety ‘Dolya’ had a very high resistance degree to pink snow mold; the varieties ‘Antonina’ and ‘Brigada’ had a high resistance degree; 21 varieties were classified as resistant. M. nivale resistance was demonstrated by 9 winter barley varieties and 3 variety samples (‘Versal’, ‘Iosif’, ‘KA-12’, ‘KA-5/KA-3’, ‘KA-5/KA-1’, ‘Karrera’, ‘Kondrat’, ‘Kubagro-1’, ‘Lazar’, ‘Master’, ‘Romans’, ‘Sarmat’). Among the studied winter triticale varieties, 4 varieties had a very high resistance degree (‘Argus’, ‘Slon’, ‘Tikhon’, ‘Ullubiy’) and 9 varieties had a high resistance degree to pink snow mold pathogen (‘Aznavur’, ‘Argo’, ‘Arioso’, ‘Valentin 90’, ‘Iliya’, ‘Sotnik’,’ Styuard’, ‘Forte’, ‘Khleborob’).

Abstract:
SummaryHealth information exchange (HIE) facilitates the exchange of patient information across different healthcare organizations. To match patient records across sites, HIEs usually rely on a master patient index (MPI), a database responsible for determining which medical records at different healthcare facilities belong to the same patient. A single patient’s records may be improperly split across multiple profiles in the MPI.We investigated the how often two individuals shared the same first name, last name, and date of birth in the Social Security Death Master File (SSDMF), a US government database containing over 85 million individuals, to determine the feasibility of using exact matching as a split record detection tool. We demonstrated how a method based on exact record matching could be used to partially measure the degree of probable split patient records in the MPI of an HIE.We calculated the percentage of individuals who were uniquely identified in the SSDMF using first name, last name, and date of birth. We defined a measure consisting of the average number of unique identifiers associated with a given first name, last name, and date of birth. We calculated a reference value for this measure on a subsample of SSDMF data. We compared this measure value to data from a functioning HIE.We found that it was unlikely for two individuals to share the same first name, last name, and date of birth in a large US database including over 85 million individuals. 98.81% of individuals were uniquely identified in this dataset using only these three items. We compared the value of our measure on a subsample of Social Security data (1.00089) to that of HIE data (1.1238) and found a significant difference (t-test p-value < 0.001).This method may assist HIEs in detecting split patient records.

Abstract:
Abstract Objective This study evaluated the degree to which recommendations for demographic data standardization improve patient matching accuracy using real-world datasets. Materials and Methods We used 4 manually reviewed datasets, containing a random selection of matches and nonmatches. Matching datasets included health information exchange (HIE) records, public health registry records, Social Security Death Master File records, and newborn screening records. Standardized fields including last name, telephone number, social security number, date of birth, and address. Matching performance was evaluated using 4 metrics: sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and accuracy. Results Standardizing address was independently associated with improved matching sensitivities for both the public health and HIE datasets of approximately 0.6% and 4.5%. Overall accuracy was unchanged for both datasets due to reduced match specificity. We observed no similar impact for address standardization in the death master file dataset. Standardizing last name yielded improved matching sensitivity of 0.6% for the HIE dataset, while overall accuracy remained the same due to a decrease in match specificity. We noted no similar impact for other datasets. Standardizing other individual fields (telephone, date of birth, or social security number) showed no matching improvements. As standardizing address and last name improved matching sensitivity, we examined the combined effect of address and last name standardization, which showed that standardization improved sensitivity from 81.3% to 91.6% for the HIE dataset. Conclusions Data standardization can improve match rates, thus ensuring that patients and clinicians have better data on which to make decisions to enhance care quality and safety.

Abstract:
In 1891-92, N. H. Winchell and Charles Schuchert were preparing a chapter on Minnesota brachiopods for the Winchell Survey's Final Report on the geology of Minnesota. At the same time, C. W. Hall's Masters degree candidate. F. W. Sardeson, was finishing his thesis, which included some new names of brachiopods. Sardeson had told Schuchert that he would not publish first, but Hall required him to attempt to do so because some of Sardeson's species were from biozones described in a forthcoming paper of which Hall was senior author. In order to beat Sardeson, Winchell had E. O. Ulrich prepare a short article on new brachiopod names for The American Geologist. A dummy preprint, dated 1 April 1892, was given to Sardeson on that date by Ulrich, who said that they had been mailed out. The article suppressed six of Sardeson's brachiopod names. At Hall's instigation, Sardeson's publication was mailed out on 6 April. Although the 1 April preprint had not been mailed out, a "corrected" preprint of the same, dated 21 April, was. Sardeson's six species names are therefore still valid, although Winchell's trickery quickly prevailed in the literature. Hall used Sardeson to try to confound Winchell, whom he disliked greatly, but with Ulrich's help Winchell won out anyway.

Abstract:
In this paper the stability of a control scheme for bilateral master-slave teleoperation is investigated. Given the nominal models of the master and slave dynamics, and using an approximate feedback linearization control, based on the earlier work of Spong and Vidyasagar, 1987, a robust closed-loop system (position and force) can be obtained with a multiloop version of the small gain theorem. It is shown that stable bilateral teleoperating systems can be achieved under the assumption that the deviation of the models from the actual systems satisfies certain norm inequalities. We also show that, using the proposed scheme, the tracking error (position/velocity and force/torque) is bounded and it can be made arbitrarily small. The control scheme is illustrated using the simulation of a three-degree-of-freedom master-slave teleoperator (three-degree-of-freedom master and three-degree-of-freedom slave).

Abstract:
The success of students and their performance are influenced by manifold parameters. The current study focusses especially on the correlation between study duration and the student performance. Investigated are the numbers of two textile related courses (bachelor and master) over the complete time frame of one decade. Data of more than 800 students are considered. Data evaluation is done with the final marks of the students and by using a calculated value – the student performance index PI. Especially discussed is the behavior of long-time students needing more than the double of the regular study duration. In this study only results of students are discussed which successfully finished the study course with a degree. Students leaving without a degree are not considered. For the bachelor course a correlation of their final grades with larger study duration can be determined. In contrast, for the master course nearly no influence of the study duration on the student performance is determined. A possible explanation for these different results can be discussed with the different reasons for longer study duration. For master course it is obviously the situation that the studying is combined with part-time or even full-time jobs. This combination of job and study course leads even for excellent students to prolonged study duration. With this background, for future developments a special designed part time master study course should be developed and offered for students who like the combination of a job carrier with gaining simultaneously a master degree.

Abstract:
The master’s degree is an obligatory stage for those who are planning to enter PhD. That is why it should have a clear academic track. Embedding the master’s degree in the academic track allows universities to sum up their efforts to support young scientists. There is an urgent need to support scientific centers in Russian universities. When the universities are competing for academic leadership, academic tracks become the ground for the development strategies.Previous researches showed that most students were ready to choose an academic track when they were master’s students. Thus, the academic track starts long before entering the doctoral programs. The study results reveal that master’s students do not have an opportunity to build an individual academic track within “hybrid” master’s programs. The Russian master’s degree programs shortly involve young researchers in projects, and this applies to all types of universities, including the research ones. The structure and ways of involving students in science do not differ in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Master’s students who choose academic track do it without changing the major program. However, this trend doesn’t cover all the students. Master’s students use academic tracks to upgrade their professional skills for the further career but not at university or scientific institution.

Abstract:
In this work, the material characterization of hardening magneto-rheological (MR) sponge is analyzed and a robot-assisted surgery system integrated with a 6-degrees-of-freedom (DOF) haptic master and slave root is constructed. As a first step, the viscoelastic property of MR sponge is experimentally analyzed. Based on the viscoelastic property and controllability, a MR sponge which can mimic the several reaction force characteristics of human-like organs is devised and manufactured. Secondly, a slave robot corresponding to the degree of the haptic master is manufactured and integrated with the master. In order to manipulate the robot motion by the master, the kinematic analysis of the master and slave robots is performed. Subsequently, a simple robot cutting surgery system which is manipulated by the haptic master and MR sponge is established. It is then demonstrated from this system that using both MR devices can provide more accurate cutting surgery than the case using the haptic master only.

Abstract:
In the presented article, a differential thermal analysis was carried out and the temperatures of thermal effects were established that arise during the reduction of neodymium from a technological salt mixture KCl–NaCl–CaCl2–NdF3 with a magnesium–zinc alloy. The results of experimental studies on the reduction of neodymium from a fluoride–chloride melt in a shaft electric furnace at temperatures of 550, 600, 650, 700 °C are presented. In order to increase the degree of extraction of neodymium into the Mg–Zn–Nd master alloy, the study of the influence of technological parameters on the degree of extraction of neodymium was carried out. It was experimentally proven that when zinc is added to a reducing agent (magnesium), the degree of extraction of neodymium into the master alloy is 99.5–99.7%. The structure of the obtained master alloy samples, characterized by a uniform distribution of ternary intermetallic compounds (Mg3,4NdZn7) in the volume of a double magnesium–zinc eutectic, was studied by optical and electron microscopy.

Abstract:
Heterogeneous master–slave robots are widely used as both the assistive robot system for the elder/disabled people and the teleoperation robot system in dangerous environments. For the sake of intuitive teleoperation, motion mapping should be applied to keep the slave arm possessing the similar configuration of the master arm in the whole course of telemanipulation. We propose a motion mapping on the joint analog level based on unit dual quaternions (UDQs) for the telecontrol of a heterogeneous slave robot arm via the motion of human master arm. First, we analogize the links of the slave robot to the links of the human master arm, and accordingly group the slave arm joints into “shoulder,” “elbow,” and “wrist” joint analog sets. Then, we capture the motion of the human master arm via a wearable motion capture system and take it as the motion order of the slave arm. Finally, we solve the motion of slave robot arm’s joint via UDQ-based 1-, 2-, and 3-Degree of freedom (DOF) orientation error UDQ decomposition algorithms that are suit for solving a typical class of robotic slave arms. As a result, the operator can manipulate the heterogeneous robot system intuitively and conveniently, and the fatigue degree and error rate of the user can be significantly reduced, and thus the safety of teleoperation in an unstructured and constrained environment can be significantly improved.

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to develop a controller for a force-reflecting teleoperator system having kinematically dissimilar master and slave. The controller is a stiffness controller for both the master and the slave. A mathematical problem associated with representing orientations using Euler angles is described, and Euler parameters are proposed as a solution. The basic properties of Euler parameters are presented, specifically those pertaining to stiffness control. The stiffness controller for both the master and the slave is formulated using Euler parameters to represent orientation and a Liapunov stability proof is presented for the controller. The master portion of the control scheme is implemented on a six-degree-of-freedom master.

English title: Norwegian master educations in natural science for lower secondary school – large differences in courses offered and size of master thesisCurrently, the majority of students in lower secondary school teacher education take a four-year education in Norway. From 2017 this education will be prolonged to a five-year master education. In connection to this, there is an ongoing debate in Norway about the content of the new teacher education programs. In 2010, the Arctic University of Norway (UiT) began the first integrated five-year master education for lower secondary teacher education students in Norway. This program is described in the article, with a focus on the subject natural science in the 5–10 level education. UiT has made progress regarding the difficult link between the student’s school practice and their education at the University. As teacher educators, we experience that the new education also seems to give the students a higher identity and motivation towards teaching natural science. There are four teacher education colleges/universities in Norwegian offering a master degree in natural science/pedagogical content knowledge for teachers in lower secondary school. These master educations are relatively different in structure, and especially the subjects offered and the size of the master thesis is considerably different.

Abstract:
The higher school of agrarian education in Russia represents the uniform system including — three levels of the higher education: bachelor degree and/or specialist programme; magistracy; training of the top skills. The university realizes educational programs of the higher education of all levels for a wide range of specialties. It carries out basic and applied scientifi c research in a wide range of sciences. Tendencies and the prospects of development of the highest education in Russia consist in strengthening of practical orientation of education, introduction in educational programs of practical disciplines, involvement of experts teachers. Relevant requirements of modern employers are the cornerstone of training programs. Master classes and seminars with participation of heads of large agrarian and machine-building enterprises, businessmen, managers and representatives of farms are held. Improvement of quality of educational services is reached by application in educational process of multimedia technologies, the systems of visualization, universal introduction of technologies of distance and electronic learning. For this purpose it is necessary to increase the mobility of teachers and students and a possibility of access to modern agrarian technologies both on internal, and at the external levels, by professional development in holdings and the companies of an agricultural profi le and foreign training. This work raises the questions of practical use of the theoretical knowledge and practical skills and abilities forming competences of the provided federal state educational standards on the example of trainings and master classes in all-technical disciplines. The gained knowledge and the created competences will be a basis of professional mobility and readiness of future young specialists for the effective solution of the tasks and problems arising in the sphere of their production activity. Thus, researches of practical orientation of education of agroengineers on the example of Belgorod State Agricultural University named after V.Ya. Gorin is a relevant task.

Abstract:
Due to a number of objective reasons (the aging of pedagogical personnel, a request for a new type of lecturer), pedagogical education becomes in demand, the continuity of which is due to the specifics and peculiarities of pedagogical activity. The quality of training for the educational environment is determined by the ability to integrate pedagogical and scientific activities, which is proved by researchers. The nature of professional tasks in any sphere of activity in modern conditions is distinguished by abundance of situations of uncertainty, which requires a special culture of thinking. The article proves, on the basis of the difference between pedagogical activity and scientific activity, the need for master degree students to form the «psychology and pedagogics of professional education» course of methodological culture as a special form of pedagogical consciousness. For gaining an insight into the essence of theoretical pedagogical knowledge, it is necessary to take a certain methodological side, having mastered the scientific methods of understanding pedagogical processes. In the course of masters' methodological culture formation, the importance of the theoretical and methodological base is understood, on the basis of which a comprehensive analysis of the problem is carried out, conceptual ideas are substantiated, educational technologies are found and methodological recommendations are given. The article draws attention to the definition of pedagogical research logic and the level of its methodology adequately to the pedagogical science methodology which serves as a theoretical justification for pedagogical activity. Attention is drawn to the fact that a high level of a lecturer's professional readiness is determined by the availability of methodological literacy which contributes to obtaining reliable new scientific knowledge about pedagogical processes, mechanisms and content. The experience of their scientific preparation is presented, the understanding of which made it possible to develop the concept of the formation of a methodological culture, the dominant of which is the «Methodology and methods of organizing scientific research» discipline. Each of the four stages of the organization is represented by algorithms of methodological characteristics that as a whole determine the logic of scientific search. In accordance with this concept, lecturer-researchers are trained at the level of master's and postgraduate studies at Samara National Research University.
