Abstract:
Since the identication of nociceptin, many other ligands of the ORL1 receptor(Opioid Receptor Like 1) now call OP4, have been synthesised. We have shown that central injection of Noc(1-13)NH2, an agonist of OP4, induced, in vivo, the same responses as nociceptin : hyperalgesia or analgesia depending on the dose, stimulation of locomotor activity, increase of exploratory behavior, anxiolytic or orexigenic effects. Although [F/G]noc(1-13)NH2 behave as an agonist as regard the locomotor activity, it antagonised the nociceptin or Noc(1-13)NH2 stimulation of locomotion and reduced their effects on exploratory behavior. No intrinsic effect of [Nphe1]noc(1-13)NH2 was evidenced, but it reduced the Noc(1-13)NH2 anxiolytic effects

Abstract:
The metaphysical and religious crisis which accompanies the advent of symbolism influences the representation of the other world : no longer fixed by a christian tradition, this representation becomes an open form calling upon imagination, as the appearance in french in the nineteenth century of the noun "au-delà" (the beyond) clearly testifies. In Blok's and Maeterlinck's plays, the suggestion of the beyond is a recurring manifestation of the implications of that crisis, which is also puts into relief a set of parallel technics that finally bring to light, on either side of Europe, the common need to explore the imaginative world of limits and the notion of threshold

Abstract:

This text is essentially a reflection on how to tell a story, or rather, how to evoke it: a questioning that inhabits my photographic and video practice. To carry out this reflection, several aspects of this inquiry in relation to the image will be discussed, the notions of historical truth, the photographic image, the archive image, complexity, “a universe of possibilities” and also, an analysis of my methodology. This theoretical inquisition will be developed in collusion with my visual practice that has been deployed, during my master’s degree, mainly in the form of video installations.

Abstract:
D'apres nos resultats post-experimentaux (i. E. Seconde partie). Nos conclusions presupposent que notre demonstration theorique (i.
The experimental origins of subliminal suggestion go back to 1917 with the work of freud and poetzl, even if leibniz, as early as the 18th century, was among the first to identify subliminal stimuli in their natural form, giving them the name of "minor perceptions". Yet, despite half a century of tests. Science is still unable either to confirm or refute conclusively the existence of such an impact. Our research hypothesis is as follows: we think that we are in a position to note a minimum clinical modification of 20% between decision-making behaviour of individuals not submitted to subliminal suggestion (i. E. The control group) and those of the two test groups exposed to subliminal stimuli. Statistically, the object of our experimenting is to use the test hypothesis of khi-square in order to arrive at a quantified verification of elements initially identified theoretically. According to our post-experiment results (i. E. Part two), there appears to be no doubt that the impact of subliminal suggestion on decision-making behaviour is substantial; in fact, we shall show that our research hypothesis was insufficiently ambitious, the optimal hypothesis settling down, according to our algorithm, at 30%. Finally, before envisaging further research perspectives, we propose an extension to the behavioural model of engel, kollat & blackwell which seems to us to help it better integrate with our variable (i. E. Part two). Our conclusions presuppose that our theoretical demonstration (i. E. Part one) is empirically verifiable: subliminal suggestion is a tangible communication tool in terms of orientation and modification of consumer motivation, one that business must accept as being at the heart of worldwide competition

Abstract:
This study is innovative in that it draws together the concepts of suggestion from several cultural groups and develops an inventory to account for variations the occurrence of scale to studies the relatively new area of the effects of suggestion in classrooms and compares effect on personality and academic variables. As new ideas and knowledge become more widespread and accepted by the community and teaching profession, precision in the applications of suggestion in the classroom is being seen as more important. Although new to education, suggestion and similar variations has always been central to influencing behaviour and learning among pastoral, counseling and hypnotherapy fields. Teachers who had experience or influence from those fields or the ideas of Lozanov (1978) or accelerated learning groups were and are more the exception than the rule. However, as new ideas become more influential, the influence of suggestion in is becoming increasingly important in progressive, modern education. A major goal of the study was to provide a valid instrument to compare Chinese and Australian differences and similarities in use of suggestion in learning. It was hoped that such a comparison would provide increased mutual understanding of values, strategies, practices and preferences by teachers and students. A second goal was to develop a causative model that explained the relationships between the measured variables of personality and learning behaviour and suggestion in teaching and learning.. A third aim was to make a comparison on effects and performance of suggestion in teaching and learning in Australian, Chinese and Australian accelerative learning classes. This study examined differences between Australian and Chinese high school Science classrooms in their use of suggestion in teaching and learning. To ascertain the prevalence and types of suggestion in the classroom the 39-item suggestion in teaching and learning (STL) scale was developed and validated v in Year 7, 9, and 11 high school classes in China and Australia. The STL scale categorized suggestion into the following types or subscales: Selfsuggestion, metaphor, indirect non-verbal suggestion, general spoken suggestion, negative suggestion, intuitive suggestion, direct verbal suggestion, relaxation, and de-suggestion. The study involved surveying 344 participants (n=182 female, n=162 male) from four high schools in Australia and China. A further 374 participants (n=108 teachers, n=266 students) from six high schools were surveyed for selecting a Chinese sample in a pilot study. About 284 participants (China: 200 students; Australia: 84 students [includes 8 adults]) were observed for validation of the STL instrument. All subjects and classes were randomly selected and were surveyed and observed for the purpose of scale and model development. The STL scale was found to be capable of distinguishing different types of suggestion within Chinese, Australian, and Australian Accelerative Learning classes. The STL scale was significant as a first scale to measure suggestion in teaching and learning in Australian and Chinese classrooms. Items in the scale were strongly and significantly correlated with other items within the subscales and with the overall scale. Path analytic techniques were used to explain relationships between the STL scale, its subscales, nation, gender and high school students profiles on stress, depression, learning styles and academic grades. Limitations of the study included problems arising from language and cultural differences as well as newness of the scale and the field of study. Recommendations for further study included strengthening aspects of the scale with new items and further qualitative and quantitative studies on the uses of suggestion in academic learning and other forms of change in childhood and adolescence.

Full text
Abstract:
This thesis investigates new clustering paradigms and algorithms based on the principle of the shared nearest-neighbors (SNN. As most other graph-based clustering approaches, SNN methods are actually well suited to overcome data complexity, heterogeneity and high-dimensionality.The first contribution of the thesis is to revisit existing shared neighbors methods in two points. We first introduce a new SNN formalism based on the theory of a contrario decision. This allows us to derive more reliable connectivity scores of candidate clusters and a more intuitive interpretation of locally optimum neighborhoods. We also propose a new factorization algorithm for speeding-up the intensive computation of the required sharedneighbors matrices. The second contribution of the thesis is a generalization of the SNN clustering approach to the multi-source case. Whereas SNN methods appear to be ideally suited to sets of heterogeneous information sources, this multi-source problem was surprisingly not addressed in the literature beforehand. The main originality of our approach is that we introduce an information source selection step in the computation of candidate cluster scores. As shown in the experiments, this source selection step makes our approach widely robust to the presence of locally outlier sources. This new method is applied to a wide range of problems including multimodal structuring of image collections and subspace-based clustering based on random projections. The third contribution of the thesis is an attempt to extend SNN methods to the context of bipartite k-nn graphs. We introduce new SNN relevance measures revisited for this asymmetric context and show that they can be used to select locally optimal bi-partite clusters. Accordingly, we propose a new bipartite SNN clustering algorithm that is applied to visual object's discovery based on a randomly precomputed matching graph. Experiments show that this new method outperformed state-of-the-art object mining results on OxfordBuilding dataset. Based on the discovered objects, we also introduce a new visual search paradigm, i.e. object-based visual query suggestion.

Abstract:

Abstract:
AbstractAdvances in gene reading, gene synthesis, and genome editing are making possible a number of radical new practices for transforming animal futures in the Anthropocene. De-extinction may make it possible to bring back lost species. Gene drives may enable the sending of desirable traits through wild populations of organisms. The hype accompanying these promises can make each of them look ethically irresistible. This chapter investigates the ‘speculative ethics’ that has arisen around these technologies, asking questions about both their viability and the approach to animals they contain. Reductive and non-relational thinking is identified as one potential problem with the thinking behind these techniques. The neglect of non-human agency is identified as another. After indicating some of the problems these two ways of conceptualizing an animal and its genome can create, a brief suggestion is made about how to better conceptualize animal futures in the Anthropocene.

It considers the key characteristics of political satire, among them: its assumption of the forms of other genres, the engagement of the viewer in an unresolved moment, the promise to unveil the ‘truth’ and suggestion of moral correction, and deep imbrication in a specific historical context. A brief review of the existing literature on De Hooghe contextualizes this study and provides the necessary background for understanding the reception of the satires.

Abstract:
Abstract: The research focuses on Le Corbusier educational process and on his ability to abstract, through his memories, the images related to the knowledge of the Ancient World; a study that addresses the clear connection between the works of Le Corbusier and his knowledge of Roman architecture, outlining two interpretations: the first one linked to the archetype of classic models, and the second one to ruins and archaeological landscape. The first interpretation clearly illustrates the rational perspective, the will to pursue an universal architecture distinguished by use of reason, that only archetypes can teach, whereas the second interpretation attempts to outline the relationship between the evocative influence of the ruin and the personal suggestions of the architect. Retracing the steps of his educational process, the research investigates the knowledge acquired by the young Jeanneret during his German stay (1910-1911). This is the first phase of the study of Roman architecture, that inspires him an interest that will be pursued later through the experience of the Voyage d 'Orient and the study of some sources, such as Piranesi's views. This learning is reflected in numerous drawings and reflections contained in Carnet 4 and in Carnet 5, elaborated during his stay in Rome. These experiences will be a source of inspiration for his architectural production and theoretical assumptions, and they seem to be reflected in some works of the architect, as the Chandigarh Haute Cour of 1952. Abstract:
BIM uses are complex specific processes in architecture, engineering, construction, and operation mediated by Building Information Modeling technologies. Several initiatives are dedicated to detailing these uses in a standardized way, enumerating and describing them in terms of scope, benefits, process maps, required competencies, associated technology, and theoretical framework. Examples of these efforts are Penn State's Computer Integrated Construction Research Program (MESSNER et al., 2019), buildingSMART (2021), and BIM Excellence Organization (SUCCAR; SALEEB; SHER, 2016). This study presents the approach to educate, evaluate and assist Model Uses using templates (Model Use Templates - MUT) of the BIM Excellence Initiative (BIMe). The BIM use is called Model Use in BIMe terminology. In three years, starting in 2021, the initiative intends to detail all the domain model uses listed by the organization (BIMe, 2020). The domain model uses are organized in the series of capture and representation, planning and design, simulation and quantification, operation and maintenance, monitoring and control of buildings and infrastructures. In terms of domain model uses, there is the linking and extending series of BIM integrated to Facility Management, interfaced with the Internet of Things, linked to Enterprise Resource Planning, etc. The initiative developed a Construction Domain Model Use Template (MUT) and applied it as a demonstration for Clash Detection or MUT 4040. This summary will describe the template, its application to Clash Detection, and guidance on how to transform it into a template class to teach Clash Detection with BIM. The MUT consists of an extended description, software list, activity flow, and bibliography. This content is available in the BIM Dictionary associated with the equivalent term (https://bimdictionary.com/en/clash-detection/1). The extended description includes the corresponding term's definition, the detailed description, purpose, and an available online media-list. The detailed description presents the different types of use (e.g., hard, soft, time-based) and benefits. The software list lists platforms and environments used in the model use development. For each platform or environment, there is a list of the vendor or developer, the corresponding technical functionality, the applicable discipline, the software description, the availability of the software in the cloud or location, differentiation of versions, the link to the official website, the model use code that the software can support, specific functionalities associated with the use and availability of a plugin or extension. The activity flow is described using a process map and details in up to 3 hierarchical levels for each macro activity. All the terminology adopted in the MUT is semantically aligned to the various projects and initiatives of BIM Excellence, bringing consistency to the meaning. In the case of MUT 4040, that is, the application of the template for the model use of Clash Detection, the short description is a “Use of the Model representing the use of 3D Models to coordinate different disciplines (e.g., structures and air-conditioning) and to identify/resolve possible conflicts between virtual elements prior to actual construction or fabrication”. The extended description presents the Clash Detection as automated or semi-automated procedures to identify design errors in 3D models, where objects occupy the same space or are too close to violating spatial restrictions. Time-based interferences are conflicts involving temporary objects that compete for the same space at the same time. The benefits are listed, for example, like better project coordination and quality; conflict reduction in the workplace; acceleration of design and delivery processes; and cost reduction through productivity increase. The available online media does not represent the entire process involved in Clash Detection and are generally restricted to confronting models on specific platforms. We advocate that the activity flow should structure the class of model uses in BIM education. In this way, there is a holistic and representative approach to practice. Thus, we advise escaping this model's understanding in a restricted and instrumental way, as it already occurs in most of the online media found. We propose to organize the class program by the macro stages of the activity flow, covering: (i) creation of the strategy for the clash detection in the project in question; (ii) preparation of specific models for federation; (iii) identification of federation environments or model integration; (iv) federation or integration of models; (v) checks for interference in the federated or integrated model; (vi) analysis of the conflicts identified; and (vii) referral to conflict resolution. The details of each of these activities in the template can guide the teacher on how to proceed or prepare educational content. The bibliography listed in the template covers the theoretical framework to support the class in terms of books, scientific articles, and BIM guides. One can develop the class at the level of graduation, extension, or continuing education. Being an undergraduate class, it can be mandatory or elective. Items (i) to (iii) make up the theoretical part of the class, and the rest are essentially practical content. Thus, two types of competency assessment are possible: knowledge and skills. Knowledge can be developed through discussions and seminars. Skills covered are associated with execution or domain skills, according to Succar, Scher, and Willams (2013). Execution skills are associated with learning model verification platforms and collaboration environments. The execution competence generates an instrumental skill that can be provided through individual online training with tutorials. Domain skills are essentially technical (analysis and simulation) and functional (collaboration). These skills must be instigated in a participatory and collaborative way in practical exercises involving cycles of verification of the federated model and adjustments of complementary projects' models. As a suggestion for support material, the teacher should prepare a dataset including models with errors in file naming disobeying conventions, errors in the control elements impacting the overlapping of models, errors of omission or duplication of elements in the models, and errors of data schema in terms of categorization of elements and classification of content. The models must also include issues of all types (hard, soft, and temporal interferences). Errors must be plausible to be identified by different types of verification: visual or script. Abstract:
Available data provide a picture for the macro-economy of Colombia, agriculture, and infrastructure. Recent data on trends on public procurement were difficult to find within the scope of this rapid review. In 2020, macro-level employment figures show a large drop between February and April when COVID-19 lockdown measures were first introduced, followed by a gradual upward trend. In December 2020, the employment rate was 4.09 percentage points lower than the employment rate in December 2019. Macro-level figures from the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) show that a higher percentage of men experienced job losses than women in November 2020. However, the evidence presented by the Universidad Nacional de Colombia based on the DANE great integrated house survey shows that a higher proportion of all jobs lost were lost by women in the second quarter. It may be that the imbalance shifted over time, but it is not possible to directly compare the data. Evidence suggests that women were disproportionately more burdened by home activities due to the closure of schools and childcare. There is also a suggestion that women who have lost out where jobs able to function during lockdowns with technology are more likely to be held by men. Literature also shows that women have lower levels of technology literacy. There is a lack of reliable data for understanding the economic impacts of COVID-19 for people living with disabilities. A report on the COVID-19 response and disability for the Latin America region recommends improving collaboration between policymakers and non-governmental organisations. Younger people experienced greater job losses. Data for November 2020 show 3.3 percent of the population aged under 25 lost their job compared to 1.8 percent of those employed between 24 and 54. Agriculture, livestock, and fishing increased by 2.8% in 2020 compared to 2019. And the sector as a whole grew 3.4% between the third and fourth quarters of 2020. In terms of sector differences, construction was harder hit by the initial mobility restrictions than agriculture. Construction contracted by 30.5% in the second quarter of 2020. It is making a relatively healthy recovery with reports that 84% of projects being reactivated following return to work. The President of the Colombian Chamber of Construction predicting an 8.4% growth in the construction of housing and other buildings in 2021.
