Abstract:
Background Two ongoing phase II clinical trials (RENEW and SYNERGY) have been developed to test the efficacy of anti-LINGO-1 antibodies in acute optic neuritis and relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis, respectively. Across a range of experimental models, LINGO-1 has been found to inhibit neuron and oligodendrocyte survival, axon regeneration, and (re)myelination. The therapeutic effects of anti-LINGO-1 antibodies on optic nerve axonal loss and regeneration have not yet been investigated. Objective In this series of studies we investigate if LINGO-1 antibodies can prevent acute inflammatory axonal loss, and promote axonal regeneration after injury in rodent optic nerves. Methods The effects of anti-LINGO-1 antibody on optic nerve axonal damage were assessed using rodent myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), and its effects on axonal regeneration were assessed in optic nerve crush injury models. Results In the optic nerve, anti-LINGO-1 antibody therapy was associated with improved optic nerve parallel diffusivity measures on MRI in mice with EAE and reduced axonal loss in rat EAE. Both anti-LINGO-1 antibody therapy and the genetic deletion of LINGO-1 reduced nerve crush-induced axonal degeneration and enhanced axonal regeneration. Conclusion These data demonstrate that LINGO-1 blockade is associated with axonal protection and regeneration in the injured optic nerve.

Abstract:
Objective:To evaluate whether the anti-LINGO-1 antibody has immunomodulatory effects.Methods:Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (hPBMCs), rat splenocytes, and rat CD4+ T cells were assessed to determine whether LINGO-1 was expressed and was inducible. Anti-LINGO-1 Li81 (0.1–30 μg/mL) effect on proliferation/cytokine production was assessed in purified rat CD4+ T cells and hPBMCs stimulated with antibodies to CD3 +/– CD28. In humans, the effect of 2 opicinumab (anti-LINGO-1/BIIB033; 30, 60, and 100 mg/kg) or placebo IV administrations was evaluated in RNA from blood and CSF samples taken before and after administration in phase 1 clinical trials; paired samples were assessed for differentially expressed genes by microarray. RNA from human CSF cell pellets was analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR for changes in transcripts representative of cell types, activation markers, and soluble proteins of the adaptive/innate immune systems. ELISA quantitated the levels of CXCL13 protein in human CSF supernatants.Results:LINGO-1 is not expressed in hPBMCs, rat splenocytes, or rat CD4+ T cells; LINGO-1 blockade with Li81 did not affect T-cell proliferation or cytokine production from purified rat CD4+ T cells or hPBMCs. LINGO-1 blockade with opicinumab resulted in neither significant changes in immune system gene expression in blood and CSF, nor changes in CXCL13 CSF protein levels (clinical studies).Conclusions:These data support the hypothesis that LINGO-1 blockade does not affect immune function.Classification of evidence:This study provides Class II evidence that in patients with MS, opicinumab does not have immunomodulatory effects detected by changes in immune gene transcript expression.

Transhipment problems are in the form of indirect distribution problems because the products sent must go through several stages before reaching the consumer. This study will compare the Vogel Approximation method in previous studies with the completion of linear programming with Lingo software tools. Transportation costs using the Vogel Approximation method in previous studies compared with transportation costs using the Lingo software tool have the same cost of IDR 508,289,000, but there are several different fertilizer distributions. Lingo software simplifies data processing so that the results obtained are more accurate than the Vogel Approximation method. Companies can use lingo software to minimize costs by working effectively and efficiently.

Abstract:
The purpose of doing research is to have the investigation on the students’ belief when Duo lingo application is applied in the class of vocabulary and to describe the justification of the advantages using the Duo lingo to empower the vocabulary enrichment. The students of English Study Program in State Islamic College as Pre Service –teachers have participated in this study. The data were collected by the questionnaire distribution and the interview methods. The data analysis uses the qualitative description. The result of the study exposes the facts that the respondents agree the Duo lingo can facilitate the vocabulary learning achievement. The medium labelled Duo lingo makes the students easy and interesting in learning the English word knowledge. The interview with the sample of informants suggests the testimony that the young learners can use the app overtime as far as they want. They are free to set or make up the schedule of lesson session. One more meaningful thing found in the application is that the English is spoken by the native speaker. By performing the English of the native speaker can be a model or master for the students. They get the chance to exercise repeating the word or the sentence spoken by the native speaker correctly.

Abstract:
AbstractLINGO-1 may be involved in the pathogenesis of cerebral ischemia. However, its biological function and underlying molecular mechanism in cerebral ischemia remain to be further defined. In our study, middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion (MACO/R) mice model and HT22 cell oxygen–glucose deprivation/reperfusion (OGD/R) were established to simulate the pathological process of cerebral ischemia in vivo and in vitro and to detect the relevant mechanism. We found that LINGO-1 mRNA and protein were upregulated in mice and cell models. Down-regulation LINGO-1 improved the neurological symptoms and reduced pathological changes and the infarct size of the mice after MACO/R. In addition, LINGO-1 interference alleviated apoptosis and promoted cell proliferation in HT22 of OGD/R. Moreover, down-regulation of LINGO-1 proved to inhibit nuclear translocation of p-NF-κB and reduce the expression level of p-JAK2 and p-STAT3. In conclusion, our data suggest that shLINGO-1 attenuated ischemic injury by negatively regulating NF-KB and JAK2/STAT3 pathways, highlighting a novel therapeutic target for ischemic stroke.

Abstract:
Conversational agents are increasingly becoming digital partners in our everyday computational experiences. Although rich and fresh in content, they are oblivious to users' locality beyond geospatial weather and traffic conditions. We introduce Lingo, a hyper-local conversational agent embedded deeply into the urban infrastructure that provides rich, purposeful, detailed, and in some cases, playful information relevant to a neighbourhood. Drawing lessons from a mixed-method contextual study (online survey, n = 1992 and semi-structured interviews, n = 21), we identify requirements for such a hyper-local conversational agent and a sample set of questions serving urban neighbourhoods of Belgium. Our agent design is manifested into a two-part system. First, a multi-modal reasoning engine serves as a hyper-local information source using automated machine-learning models operating on camera, microphone, and environmental sensor data. Second, a smart conversational speaker and a smartphone application serve as hyper-local information access points. Finally, we introduce a covert communication mechanism over Wi-Fi management frames that bridges the two parts of our Lingo system and enables the privacy-preserving proxemic interactions. We describe the design, implementation, and technical assessment of Lingo together with usability (n = 20) and real-world deployment (n = 5) studies. We reflect on information quality, accessibility benefits, and interaction dynamics and demonstrate the efficacy of Lingo in offering hyper-local information at the finest granularity in urban neighbourhoods while reducing access time up to a factor of 25.

Proses pemilihan transportasi memengaruhi harga produk, ketepatan waktu pengiriman dan kondisi barang ketika mereka tiba dan ini sangat memengaruhi kepuasan pelanggan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan dalam proses optimalisasi biaya pengiriman produk baru yang dilakukan oleh UD. Membiri. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan data primer UD. Membiri, kemudian dihitung menggunakan metode least cost serta penggunaan aplikasi Lingo untuk menemukan biaya dan jumlah pengiriman yang paling optimal. Hasil optimal dari biaya pengiriman baru menggunakan metode biaya paling sedikit, total biaya yang diperoleh adalah Rp. 12.385.000, saat menggunakan perangkat lunak Lingo, total biayanya adalah Rp. 16.030.000.

Aim and Objective: In the past decade, the drug design technologies have been improved enormously. The computer-aided drug design (CADD) has played an important role in analysis and prediction in drug development, which makes the procedure more economical and efficient. However, computation with big data, such as ZINC containing more than 60 million compounds data and GDB-13 with more than 930 million small molecules, is a noticeable issue of time-consuming problem. Therefore, we propose a novel heterogeneous high performance computing method, named as Hadoop-MCC, integrating Hadoop and GPU, to copy with big chemical structure data efficiently. Materials and Methods: Hadoop-MCC gains the high availability and fault tolerance from Hadoop, as Hadoop is used to scatter input data to GPU devices and gather the results from GPU devices. Hadoop framework adopts mapper/reducer computation model. In the proposed method, mappers response for fetching SMILES data segments and perform LINGO method on GPU, then reducers collect all comparison results produced by mappers. Due to the high availability of Hadoop, all of LINGO computational jobs on mappers can be completed, even if some of the mappers encounter problems. Results: A comparison of LINGO is performed on each the GPU device in parallel. According to the experimental results, the proposed method on multiple GPU devices can achieve better computational performance than the CUDA-MCC on a single GPU device. Conclusion: Hadoop-MCC is able to achieve scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance granted by Hadoop, and high performance as well by integrating computational power of both of Hadoop and GPU. It has been shown that using the heterogeneous architecture as Hadoop-MCC effectively can enhance better computational performance than on a single GPU device.

PT. SBT yang merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang pendistribusian barang bangunan ini juga tidak terlepas dari kegiatan transportasi yang menerapkan sistem transhipment dengan kepemilikan 3 gudang sebagai tempat transit, dimana ketiga gudang ini memiliki lokasi yang berbeda-beda sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut apakah dengan adanya ketiga gudang tersebut biaya transportasi yang dikeluarkan sudah optimal atau belum. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan data sekunder dari penelitian terdahulu dengan tujuan membandingkan hasil metode yang digunakan penelitian terdahulu dengan hasil penelitian ini, sehingga dapat memberikan masukan terbaik bagi perusahaan dalam aspek transportasi guna mencapai tujuan perusahaan. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam menyelesaikan masalah transhipment ini yaitu menggunakan software Lingo yang tentunya dengan harapan memberikan hasil optimal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penurunan total biaya transportasi yang awalnya Rp 3.275.000 menjadi Rp 1.413.000 dengan selisih biaya sebesar Rp 1.862.000 atau sebesar 56,85%.

Tanah yang digali perlu untuk dipindahkan ke tempat lain untuk tidak menggangu area lahan pekerjaaan. Salah satu alat yang dibutuhkan untuk memindahkan tanah dari satu tempat ke tempat lain yang berjarak jauh adalah Dump Truck. Studi ini menangani masalah pengoptimalan penyewaan Dump Truck untuk meminimalkan biaya sewa Dump Truck. Metode Linear Programming merupakan metode yang digunakan dalam mengoptimalkan penyewaan Dump Truck. Metode Linear Programming terdiri dari decision variabel, objective function, dan constraint. Penelitian menggunakan 10 perusahaan Dump Truck yang disewa untuk mengangkut tanah dengan 2 tipe kapasitas yang berbeda. Data tersebut diolah dengan menggunakan program LINGO untuk menentukan banyak Dump Truck yang digunakan dari perusahaan - perusahaan dan didapat harga termurah yang perlu dikeluarkan adalah Rp 3.183.989.000,-. Program LINGO ini membuktikan bahwa biaya yang diperoleh lebih efisien dengan mrnggunakan metode Linear Programming dibandingkan dengan cara memesan secara aktual di lapangan.

Abstract:
Optimizing the facility location has a vital role in providing services to the community. This study aims to determine the Temporary Waste Disposal Site (TWDS) in Sako District, Palembang City. The distance data between each TWDS in Sako District is used to formulate the Set Covering model, consisting of the Set Covering Location Problem (SCLP) model and the p-Median Problem model. The classical approach is made by solving both models using Lingo 18.0 software. The Greedy Heuristic algorithm is used as the heuristic approach. Based on the results and discussion, Sako District consists of 4 Villages and 9 TWDS. The SCLP and p-Median Problem models with LINGO 18.0 software and the Greedy Heuristic algorithm show a difference. The study results suggest using the optimal solution resulting from the Greedy Heuristic algorithm because it can meet all requests in Sako District. Research shows that there are six optimal TWDS in Sako District. However, several locations are still not optimal, so it is recommended that there are an additional 14 new TWDS facilities in Sako District to serve all requests.

Nurse scheduling is one of the problems that often arise in hospital management systems. Head of ICU room and nurse to cooperate in making good nurse scheduling for the creation of optimal service. In this paper, we study a hospital nurse schedule design by considering the level of nurse education and the provision of holidays. Nurses with undergraduate education (S1) Nurses become leaders on every shift and are accompanied by nurses with diploma education (D3). The scheduling model in this study using the nonpreemptive goal programming method and LINGO 11.0 software. The preparation of the schedule of nurses assigned to this method can optimize the need for efficient nurses per shift based on education level. The data in the research was obtained by collecting administrative data at Aloei Saboe Gorontalo hospital. The data used are the published schedule by the head of the ICU room. In making a nurse schedule, there are limitations to consider such ashospital regulation. The results of the study obtained an optimal solution in the form of meeting all the desired obstacles. Computational results shows that nurse scheduling using the nonpreemptive goal programming method and LINGO 11.0 software better than the schedule created manually. Every shift is a maximum of one leader with an undergraduate education (S1) background and accompanied by a nurse with a diploma education (D3) background. El presente trabajo emplea este método en un programa de optimizaci´on creado con los software Lingo y Microsoft Excel aplicado sobre las oficinas de uno de los principales bancos del sistema financiero peruano. Se plantea el uso de dos escenarios (financiero/gestión y de venta) para el c´alculo de la eficiencia global y técnica de cada oficina y se propone un sistema de ranking en base a la eficiencia media, an´alisis de ventana de tiempo y recurrencia como referencia en las soluciones para brindar a la gerencia una herramienta útil de gestión de la red de oficinas.

Effect of Duo Lingo application to improve speaking ability. Duo Lingo to enhance student speaking ability. There are several problems with speech fluency This study is intended to find out the effectiveness of the Duolingo application on students’ perception to improve their speaking skills. Thus, this study used a qualitative approach, especially using an ethnomethodology research design. Firstly, this study used a qualitative approach because the researcher is intended to reach the data from interviews students’ procedures for creating and managing a sense of objective reality. This study is involved 27 students of grade IX from one class. Almost all students know the application of Duolingo,The result of the questionnaire indicates that 10 Neutral, 15 Agree, 2 Strongly agree that Duolingo as media improves English skills. It indicates that most of the learners agree that Duolingo is a media to improve English skills. As a result, teachers should be encouraged to use this app in language instruction and learning. Furthermore, teachers must ensure that this application is capable of being used efficiently. This study investigate non-linear programming problem that is, quadratic programming and its application to portfolio management. The data of return on asset of five different insurance companies namely: AIICO, LINKAGE, NIGER, MUTUAL BENEFIT, and LASACO insurance company was collected and a model was fixed. These data were analyzed using quadratic programming in conjunction with LINGO software. The result of the analyzed data revealed that the allocation of fund for each insurance companies should be done with the same percent for LINKAGE, NIGER, MUTUAL BENEFIT and other percent to AIICO insurance company respectively with increment of 24% on return.

Distribution of goods from producers to the hands of consumers becomes one aspect in running a business that must be planned and taken into account in order to meet the needs of the market. Delivery of goods results in costs incurred and is one of the obstacles that are often faced. Problems in the distribution of goods include the amount of inventory, the amount of consumer demand, the distance traveled and the costs that come out during the delivery process. This study describes taking into account optimal postage with transportation methods to generate maximum efficiency costs. The problem faced in this case using the North West Corner (NWC) method, then the results of the data obtained were tested optimized using LINGO software. Before the research was conducted, the cost of postage incurred by the company is Rp.278.000. The results of the research obtained after applying the NWC is Rp.255.000 and LINGO software method is Rp.240.000. The purpose of this research is to get optimal costs on the distribution of chicken eggs to increase cost savings at Ayam Sehat.com Shop in Cimahi. Using the NWC method in this case can result in smaller distribution costs than before, then this NWC method can be applied to the Ayam Sehat.com shop

The reservoir operational decision rule is an equation that can balance reservoir system parameters in each period by considering previous experiences of the system. That equation includes variables such as inflow, volume storage and released water from the reservoir that are commonly related to each other by some constant coefficients in predefined linear and nonlinear patterns. Although optimization tools have been extensively applied to develop an optimal operational decision rule, only optimal constant coefficients have been derived and the operational patterns are assumed to be fixed in that operational rule curve. Genetic programming (GP) is an evolutionary algorithm (EA), based on genetic algorithm (GA), which is capable of calculating an operational rule curve by considering optimal operational undefined patterns. In this paper, GP is used to extract optimal operational decision rules in two case studies by meeting downstream water demands and hydropower energy generation. The extracted rules are compared with common linear and nonlinear decision rules, LDR and NLDR, determined by a software package for interactive general optimization (LINGO) and GA. The GP rule improves the objective functions in the training and testing data sets by 2.48 and 8.53%, respectively, compared to the best rule by LINGO and GA in supplying downstream demand. Similarly, the hydropower energy generation improves by 48.03 and 44.21% in the training and testing data sets, respectively. Results show that the obtained objective function value is enhanced significantly for both the training and testing data using GP. They also indicate that the proposed rule, based on GP, is effective in determining optimal rule curves for reservoirs.

The gay vernacular, a language created by the LGBT community, is one of the amazing modern languages of today. To protect themselves from the hurt of societal disgrace, gay individuals started to establish their own language. It also has linguistic characteristics shared by LGBT educators who frequently talk about phonemic diphthongs. To identify the phonetic diphthongs uttered, their focus on their everyday lives of teaching as well as their meanings, this qualitative research employed a case study in conjunction with discourse analysis through production task and elicitation. Semi-structured interviews were used to gather data from purposively selected 8 informants in a secondary school of Don Sergio Osmena Sr. Memorial National High School, Cebu City, Philippines. ˘ The study revealed that the stylistic variation of gay faculty members is in the coinage through colleagues’ speech influence, the creation of own words was through attachment and cropping wherein an original word is cut off and has a new component and meaning, and there are existing words used in gay lingo that have different meanings. In order for everyone to have a deeper understanding of the culture, discursive studies of gay lingo are needed. School administrators should also mandate seminars and other activities for teachers about understanding gay language and its neologisms or the creation of their own words and structural processes.

Putin’s name referring in international news agencies, newspapers and magazines and historical and cultural features of two different cultures that have a serious impact on the way of perceiving and describing V. Putin. The article shows some particularities of the variation of the English and Spanish languages used to make the image of V. Putin. The article provides some information on the numbers of English and Spanish native speakers. The research is held by means of modern journalistic English and Spanish languages. Contrastive-comparative and contextual analysis, lingo-stylistical and continuous sampling and content methods were used in the research.

Asides inventory cost, which is being used as the only inventory performance measure at the University of Ibadan bakery, a number of other criteria, such as inventory cost, service level, inventory turnover and delivery lead time which influence the performance of an inventory system have surfaced over the years. Hence, there is the need to examine all these criteria-objectives altogether. Therefore, this research was centred towards optimising the inventory system of University of Ibadan bakery, putting multiple criteria into consideration. Data on 17 raw materials: their costs, suppliers, usage rate, lead time, storage space and available capital were collected by means of interviews, past records and observations. The weighted goal program algorithm was adopted to find the best compromise between fulfilling the four objectives by minimising the sum of the deviation from the target values of the goals. Subsequently, Lingo 17.0 and Tora 1.0 optimisation software packages were used to solve and compare the model generated, while putting into consideration storage space constraint and budgeted capital. The developed model from the goal programming algorithm exhibited four goals (combined into one objective function). Same solutions were obtained from Lingo 17.0 and Tora 1.0. While Lingo 17.0 gave a uniform service level of 100% , a turnover ratio greater than 1(>1) for all the materials at a negligible increase (of < 0.0001%) in total inventory cost of the raw materials and available lead time duration of zero days (< 24 hours) for each material, Tora 1.0 gave a uniform service level of 100% , a turnover ratio greater than 1 (> 1) for all the materials at a negligible increase (of < 0.0001%) in total inventory cost of the raw materials and available lead time duration of zero days (< 24 hours) for each material. Implementation of the developed model will eliminate unnecessary waiting time between production, thereby ensuring effective and efficient utilisation of raw materials in production which will lead to reduced cost of holding inventory, elimination of unnecessary overall cost and wastages, and also improvement of the productivity and profit on the long run.

A lingo-cellulosic material Jute Stick Powder was used as a biosorbent to remove Pb(II) ions from aqueous solution and the biosorption behavior was investigated as a function of pH, metal ion concentration, adsorbent dosages and agitation time. Sorption binding sites present in JSP was assessed by Infrared spectroscopy (IR) and Scanning Electron Micrograph (SEM). The determined experimental data were fitted to some common kinetic and equilibrium models. Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order kinetic model gave better fit to experimental data. The study revealed that spontaneous ion-exchange and complexation process involved in the adsorption mechanism. When the repeated adsorption-desorption cycles were performed, JSP kept its adsorptive efficiency even after three cycles of reuse.

COVID-19 is ravaging the world. Due to the large scale of vaccine production, the production of vaccines with good quality and quantity is the key to epidemic prevention and control. The problem of vaccine production planning is essentially the same as the problem of assembly line production. Based on the production sequence of a company's vaccine, this paper conducted a normal test on the test data by USING SPSS software and found that it obeys the normal distribution. The shortest processing time and production sequence were obtained by using LINGO software. By using LINGO software, it was found that the processing time was the shortest, 184.778 minutes, in the order of YM4 -- YM5 -- YM10 -- YM7 -- YM8 -- YM1 -- YM2 -- YM3 -- YM9 -- YM6. Based on the above conclusion, monte Carlo experiment was conducted with MATLAB software to find out the maximum probability corresponding to 95% of the production time in the problem, and the result was 1.324%. To mean the lower limit of the 90% confidence interval of each flight reservation production time for each type of vaccine, ignore the machine production of waiting time and each vaccine production after the influence on other types of vaccine production, statistics each vaccine needed to consume the longest flight reservation, the total elapsed time, again will each vaccine consume the longest flight reservation of accumulative sum total production time, The number of production days is 186.189 days under the premise that the reliability is 90%.

Genetic algorithm (GA) and quantum-based genetic algorithm (Q-GA), two meta-heuristic algorithms and LINGO 18 (traditional approach) are employed to establish the vehicle allocation and selection of orders set.FindingsThe model minimizes the total transportation cost and carbon emission tax in gathering food grains from farmers to the hubs and later to the selected demand points (warehouses). The simulated data are adopted to test and validate the suggested model. The computational experiments concede that the performance of LINGO is superior than meta-heuristic algorithms (GA and Q-GA) in terms of solution obtained, but there is trade-off with respect to computational time.Research limitations/implicationsIn literature, inadequate study has been perceived on defining environmental sustainable issues connected with agro-food supply chain from farmer to final distribution centers. A MINLP model has been formulated as practical scenario for central part of India that captures all the major complexities to make the system more efficient. This study is regulated to agro-food Indian industries.Originality/valueThe suggested network design problem is an innovative approach to design distribution systems from farmers to the hubs and later to the selected warehouses. Based on the re-interpretation of transfer time in public transportation, a transfer model of bus timetabling is established, which has the objective to minimize the total waiting time of transfer passengers at the transfer station, and it is found as a linear integer model through analysing the established model. Thus, to solve the model, the LINGO software is applied and the corresponding program is designed. Finally, the model is tested against the field data, taking some bus lines in one city as example, using the solution software. The results indicate that the proposed model is reasonable, the timetable is improved, and the solution software program is effective as well.

In this paper, we present a set of heuristics for a constraint-based train scheduling tool, which is a project in collaboration with the National Network of Spanish Railways (RENFE), Spain. We formulate train scheduling as constraint optimization problems. Three heuristics are developed to speed up and direct the search toward suboptimal solutions in periodic train scheduling problems. The feasibility of our problem-oriented heuristics is confirmed with experimentation using real-life data. When solving operations research problems, one can use either specialised computer programs such as Lingo, Lindo, Storm or more universal programs such Excel, Matlab, and R. To obtain the input data, one can use either a program’s own editor or other programs commonly available such as Excel. While the problem-solving methods, being part of various programs, are the subjects of numerous publications (such as Gros, 2003; Jablonský, 2002; Plevný – Žižka, 2007; Stevenson – Ozgur, 2009), the way the input data are obtained, recorded, and processed receives far less attention although this part of problem-solving requires considerable effort and, if the method for data recording is inadequate, may cause subsequent difficulties in their further processing. A problem known as “the travelling salesman problem” (TSP) may serve as an example. Here, the input data form a “square matrix of distances”. This paper is concerned with some Excel tools that can be used to obtain and subsequently modify such a square matrix. Given a square m × m matrix, an ordinary user might want to reduce it to an i × i square matrix (where i < m) without having to copy data from the matrix, skip some of its rows and/or columns or write a program to implement such a reduction.In her degree project, Kourková, 2009 was looking for an efficient method of reducing an Excel matrix. She had found no relevant papers on this subject concluding that the authors of the commercial program had not considered this. Therefore, she offered her own solution unconventionally using the contingency table menu option. Although this had resulted in the desired submatrix, some of its parts were superfluous and even baffling for the user.For this reason, the authors analyse the method of representing an m × m matrix and the way of its reduction. Finally, a better option is offered to achieve the desired objective as well as other methods of obtaining the required submatrix that even users without sufficient programming skills can use.

Studi ini menganalisa masalah pengoptimalan produksi beton untuk mendapatkan keuntungan yang maksimum. Metode Linear Programming merupakan teknik matematika yang dirancang untuk membantu dalam merencanakan dan membuat keputusan dalam mengalokasikan sumber daya yang terbatas untuk mencapai tujuan. Linear Programming terdiri dari decision variable, objective function, dan constraint. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Linear Programming yang diterapkan pada pabrik beton ready mix dan berlokasi di Jakarta Barat. Penelitian menggunakan 29 jenis beton siap pakai. Data yang telah didapat diolah dengan program Lingo. Setelah mengolah data, diperoleh hasil produksi yang dapat memenuhi permintaan konsumen dan mendapat keuntungan maksimum sebesar Rp. 4.035.130.000,-. Adapun kondisi produksi tidak dapat memenuhi permintaan konsumen, dengan metode ini akan mendahulukan produksi yang memiliki nilai keuntungan yang lebih besar terlebih dahulu.

Rencana produksi dapat dengan mudah direalisasikan apabila permintaan pelanggan bersifat konstan. Permintaan produk DOP dan DINP di PT Petronika tidak bersifat konstan atau selalu mengalami fluktuasi.Langkah pertama yakni melakukan peramalan permintaan periode 2019 dengan menggunakan Minitab 17.0 selanjutnya membuat model Goal Programming dan menginputkan ke dalam Lingo 17.0 dan penentuan ukuran produksi yang optimal. Background: Essential Tremor (ET) is likely the most frequent movement disorder. In this review, we have summarized the current pharmacological options for the treatment of this disorder and discussed several future options derived from drugs tested in experimental models of ET or from neuropathological data. Methods: A literature search was performed on the pharmacology of essential tremors using PubMed Database from 1966 to July 31, 2019. Results: To date, the beta-blocker propranolol and the antiepileptic drug primidone are the drugs that have shown higher efficacy in the treatment of ET. Other drugs tested in ET patients have shown different degrees of efficacy or have not been useful. Conclusion: Injections of botulinum toxin A could be useful in the treatment of some patients with ET refractory to pharmacotherapy. According to recent neurochemical data, drugs acting on the extrasynaptic GABAA receptors, the glutamatergic system or LINGO-1 could be interesting therapeutic options in the future.

Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah membuat model optimasi penjadwalan mata kuliah dengan menggunakan integer linear programming untuk meminimalisir tingkat ketidakpuasan dosen dan mahasiswa. Model ini diterapkan pada pembuatan jadwal di Program Studi Matemtika Universitas Negeri Gorontalo. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pengumpulan data dan informasi tentang penjadwalan perkuliahan sebagai dasar pembuatan model. Selanjutnya model optimasi penjadwalan dibuat dalam bentuk integer linear programming dan diselesaikan dengan software Lingo 11.0. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah sebuah jadwal perkuliahan yang optimal. Penjadwalan perkuliahan yang dihasilkan memenuhi syarat-syarat serta permintaaan dosen dan mahasiswa yang ada di Program Studi Matematika. Selain itu model yang dihasilkan dapat meminimalkan waktu yang diperlukan untuk melakukan penjadwalan.

The model of the incentive pricing scheme-based quasi-linear utility function in wireless network was designed. Previous research seldom focusses on user’s satisfaction while using network. Therefore, the model is then attempted to be set up that is derived from the modification of bundling and models of reverse charging and maintain the quality of service to users by utilizing quasi-linear utility function. The pricing schemes then are applied to local data server traffic. The model used is known as mathematical programming problem that can be solved by LINGO 13.0 program as optimization tool to get the optimal solution. The optimal results show that the improved incentive pricing can achieve better solution compared to original reverse charging where the models will be obtained in flat fee, usage-based, and two-part tariff strategies for homogeneous consumers.

Supplier selection is one of the most important elements in supply chain management. This function involves evaluation of many factors such as, material costs, transportation costs, quality, delays, supplier capacity, storage capacity and others. Each of these factors varies with time, therefore, supplier identified for one period is not necessarily be same for the next period to supply the same product. So, mixed integer linear programming (MILP) was developed to overcome the dynamic supplier selection problem (DSSP). In this paper, a mixed integer linear programming model is built to solve the lot-sizing problem with multiple suppliers, multiple periods, multiple products and quantity discounts. The buyer has to make a decision for some products which will be supplied by some suppliers for some periods cosidering by discount. To validate the MILP model with randomly generated data. The model is solved by Lingo 16.

The used of water in Indonesia for various using disposed exceed water supply. One of the efforts to optimize limited water resources is optimimation watershed management with linear programming. Identification of surface water potential in Cicatih watershed, especially in sub-watershed of upper Cicatih, Cibojong river, estimate using GR4J model. This research using discharge data from PLTA Ubrug. Springwater identified based on data from DISTAMBEN. The observation discharge average in Cibojong river was 246 l/s/day and based on GR4J model was 2752 l/s/day. Avaiable discharge was 56241 l/s/day. Grow of the population estimated by exponent method, industry and irrigation area with regression linear. Software Lingo 8.0 was used to help optimize of wáter resources in Cicatih watershed. Based on the result, in 2025, 12 industries and 15784 ha area get the wáter allocation from surface water. About 1083817 people and 75402 ha area get from springwáter. The cost to access surface wáter is higher than in other sectors. It causes the industry to gets an allocation from surface wáter.

UKM XYZ merupakan produsen empat belas jenis sambungan pipa dan satu jenis karet paku. Perusahaan mengalami kondisi overstock dan out-of-stock secara terus menerus karena perencanaan produksi yang kurang sesuai. Diusulkan sebuah rencana produksi menggunakan metode goal programming untuk memenuhi tujuan perusahaan yaitu memenuhi permintaan dan minimasi stok. Data permintaan historis akan digunakan sebagai data masukan pada model dan diolah dengan tiga metode peramalan deret waktu. Program LINGO 16.0 akan digunakan untuk perhitungan model rencana produksi. Hasil model pertama tidak dapat memenuhi permintaan dan memiliki nilai pengendapan stok produk rata-rata Rp 498.125,00 lebih banyak dari rencana UKM XYZ, maka diusulkan dua model perbaikan. Model kedua akan menggunakan pembobotan kuadrat dan model ketiga akan menggunakan variabel pemenuhan permintaan pada dua periode di masa depan. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa kedua model dapat memenuhi permintaan. Nilai pengendapan produk rata-rata dengan model kedua adalah Rp 678.333,00 lebih sedikit dari rencana UKM XYZ, sedangkan nilai pengendapan produk rata-rata model ketiga adalah Rp 303.542,00 lebih sedikit dari rencana UKM XYZ. Kedua model dapat memenuhi tujuan perusahaan dengan model kedua sebagai usulan terbaik

Through a case of glass plate cutting, two-dimensional cutting pattern problem of rectangular blanks is discussed. The raw material is cut and layout by applying the method of grouping and two-stage cutting pattern types. Here first all the blanks are divided into different groups based on certain requirement, and then two-dimensional cutting pattern problem is transformed into two one-dimensional cutting problems. Through constructing an integer programming model, the cutting program of the raw material can be obtained step by step by calculating in LINGO. Because here the precise algorithm of integer programming is applied, which is not the time algorithm of polynomial, in the specific implementation, there shouldn’t be more variables, so all the data should be divided into different groups to calculate. In each group, there should be no more than 6 blanks, which are grouped according to their size. This algorithm is simple and easy to operate with a high material usage.

In the present work DEA (data envelopment analysis) coupled with Taguchi method has used for optimization in process parameters of hot turning operation. An experimental investigation has been carried out to study the effect of cutting parameters such as speed, feed and depth of cut during. The material removal rate and surface finish, are to be studied with respect to machining at 450 temperature by heating Inconel 625. In order to achieve both quality and productivity, optimization of both is necessary simultaneously. DEA –Taguchi method can employed for solving in multi-response problem. LINGO software was used to find out the relative efficiency and converted to S/N ratio using MINITAB software. The optimization of the machining parameter found at 100 m/min cutting speed, 0.15 mm/rev feed rate and 1 mm depth of cut. Depth of cut is the most influencing parameter which affect both surface finish and material removal rate in the machining process.

In this paper, we build a new queuing algorithm based on Multi-objective linear programming about the ophthalmic hospital sickbeds arrangement. In the new algorithm we divide the traditional queue into four subqueues depending on the different treatment of diseases and following the law of FCFS. We find a random day for reference and count the data of this day, and then we focus on the arrangement of the next day, which means to choose how many patients from each of the four subqueues to be settled into hospital in the next day. Considering the fair principle, the utilization of sickbeds, and the waiting time of the patients, we found an objective function with several constraint conditions to calculate the arrangement of the next day. In order to simplify the constraint conditions, we transfer the length of the queues into the waiting time of patients and finally get the result through programming by Lingo software.
