Abstract:
The Indonesian literary tradition during the reform period was marked by the rise of female writers who raised the issue of feminism. Within the framework of locality and contextuality, the feminism movement echoed by female writers comes in diverse expressions. This study aims to describe the reference figures and issues of Islamic feminism that are represented in novels by Abidah El Khalieqy. This research uses a feminist literary criticism approach. The data sources of the research are three novels by Abidah El Khalieqiy, namely Perempuan Berkalung Sorban, Geni Jora, and Mataraisa. The technique used to gather feminist voices in the three novels is a close reading. The analysis was conducted using a descriptive qualitative method. The results of the study are as follows. First, Islamic feminist figures who were referred to by the feminism movement were Fatima Mernisi and Riffat Hassan. Fatima Mernisi is known as a misogonic hadith critic, while Riffat Hassan uses the hermeneutic principle in the interpretation of the Quran. Second, the issues of feminism represented are: the lives of women in the pesantren tradition, the position of women in the family, the view of normal sexual relations and relationships, and the interpretation of the hadiths and verses of the Qur'an relating to women. Islamic feminism voiced by Abidah El Khalieqy brings its own color compared to the Western feminism movement which refers to the concept of ecriture feminine. Dalam bingkai lokalitas dan kontekstualitas, gerakan feminisme yang digaungkan para penulis perempuan hadir dalam ekspresi yang beragam. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan tokoh rujukan dan persoalan feminisme Islam yang direpresentasikan dalam novel-novel karya Abidah El Khalieqy. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kritik sastra feminis. Sumber data penelitian adalah tiga novel karya Abidah El Khalieqiy, yaitu Perempuan Berkalung Sorban, Geni Jora, dan Mataraisa. Teknik yang dipakai untuk mengumpulkan suara-suara feminisme di dalam ketiga novel adalah pembacaan cermat (close reading). Analisis dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut. Pertama, tokoh feminis Islam yang menjadi rujukan gerakan feminisme adalah Fatima Mernisi dan Riffat Hassan. Fatima Mernisi dikenal dengan kritik hadist misogonis, sedangkan Riffat Hassan dengan prinsip hermeneutika dalam tafsir Alquran. Kedua, persoalan feminisme yang direpresentasikan adalah: kehidupan perempuan dalam tradisi pesantren, kedudukan perempuan dalam keluarga, pandangan terhadap relasi dan hubungan seksual yang normal, dan tafsir terhadap hadist dan ayat Al-quran berkaitan dengan perempuan. Feminisme Islam yang disuarakan Abidah El Khalieqy membawa warna tersendiri dibandingkan dengan gerakan feminisme Barat yang merujuk pada konsep ecriture feminine. Kata kunci: feminisme Islam, ecriture feminine, sejarah sastra Indonesia, politik perbedaan, interseksionalitas.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan ketersebaran gagasan feminisme, yakni apakah gagasan tersebut juga menjangkau kaum lelaki? Penelitian ini menggunakan teori feminisme dan berpijak pada data berupa dua sajak yang ditulis penyair laki­laki, yakni sajak “Adam di Firdaus” karya Subagio Sastrowardojo dan sajak “Perempuan” karya Emha Ainun Nadjib. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa corak feminisme dalam puisi tidak hanya didominasi oleh penyair perempuan. Beberapa sajak yang ditulis oleh penyair laki­laki seperti Subagio Sastrowardojo dengan sajaknya "Adam di Firdaus" dan Emha Ainun Nadjib dengan sajaknya "Perempuan" juga menunjukkan gagasan feminisme. Namun, berbeda dengan sajak feminis yang ditulis oleh penyair perempuan yang umumnya menghadirkan perempuan sebagai korban ideologi gender, dalam sajak feminis yang ditulis oleh penyair laki­laki kesadaran feminisme dan kesetaraan gender baru muncul setelah perempuan direpresentasikan sebagai korban ideologi gender. Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the spreads of the idea of feminism, i.e., whether the idea will also reach out to the men. This study uses feminist theory and is based on the data in the forms of two poems written by two male poets, "Adam di Firdaus” by Subagio Sastrowardojo and "Perempuan” by Emha Ainun Nadjib. The result shows that the colour of feminism in poetry is not dominated by female poets. Some poetries written by male poets such as Subagio Sastrowardojo with his poem "Adam di Firdaus" and Emha Ainun Nadjib with his poem "Perempuan" also show the idea of feminism. However, different from poetries of feminism written by female poets which commonly represents woman as a victim of gender ideology, in poetries of feminism written by male poets, the awareness of feminism and gender equality appear after the woman is represented as a victim of gender ideology. Este artigo tem como foco uma análise do texto “A mulher e a arte” (sem data), da escritora carioca Júlia Lopes de Almeida (1862-1934). Este escrito, recém-publicado na íntegra pela primeira vez, em revista acadêmica, constitui uma conferência da autora na qual ela expõe suas opiniões sobre o tema da arte de autoria feminina, tecendo uma série de críticas de cunho feminista à desigualdade entre os gêneros no espaço da criação artística. Em seu texto, a literata cita diversos nomes de artistas e intelectuais mulheres, de modo a sustentar seu argumento em defesa da potência criativa feminina e assinalar a importância da transformação da cultura patriarcal. Assim, a partir do olhar historiográfico e embasados pela epistemologia feminista, buscamos ressaltar a conferência como fundamental para o estudo da escrita de autoria feminina e feminista no Brasil entre os séculos XIX e XX.Palavras-chave: Júlia Lopes de Almeida. This writing, recently published in full for the first time, constitutes a conference in which the author exposes her opinions on the theme of art of female authorship, weaving a series of feminist criticisms of the inequality between genders in the space of artistic creation. In her text, Júlia lists several names of artists and women intellectuals, in order to support her argument in defense of the feminine creative power and point out the importance of the transformation of patriarchal culture. Thus, from the historiographic perspective and based on feminist epistemology, we seek to emphasize the conference as fundamental for the study of female and feminist writing feminists in Brazil between the 19th and 20th centuries.Keywords: Júlia Lopes de Almeida. Using data from the 1983 Euro-Barometer survey, this article examines the extent, determinants, and consequences of feminist consciousness among Western European women. The results indicate a surprising degree of feminist consciousness in Western Europe, with more than a third of women classified as feminists. The extent of feminism varies across countries, with nearly half of women in France and Italy but only a quarter of women in Britain classified as feminists. Age, education, religiosity, and ideology are the strongest predictors of feminism, although there is meaningful cross-national variation in the determinants of feminism. Finally, feminist consciousness is associated with more liberal positions on most political issues, particularly those that involve sympathy for the disadvantaged, and with the willingness to consider supporting a leftist party.

The question of conservative feminism in the United States did not really arise before the 2008 elections; most politically active conservative women leaders did not refer to themselves as feminists. Sarah Palin's vice presidential bid, however, prompted a shift. On a number of well-publicized occasions, Palin called herself a feminist, generating considerable discussion over whether conservative feminism is now a political movement. Using data from in-depth interviews with conservative women leaders, this article asks whether conservative women in the United States identify as feminists. Findings indicate that on the whole they do not, but conservative women are important gender-conscious political actors whose efforts compel questions about ideology and women's activism. Implications for understanding feminist and conservative movement politics more broadly are also explored.

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan aspek seksualitas tokoh Lingga dalam cerpen “Lelaki dengan Bibir Tersenyum” karya Radhar Panca Dahana dan menginterpretasikannya dalam perspektif feminisme. Penelitian bersifat deskriptif kualitatif dan pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik studi pustaka. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori feminis. Hasil pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa dalam cerpen “Lelaki dengan Bibir Tersenyum” aspek seksualitas tokoh Lingga mencerminkan kebebasan bagi perempuan dalam melakukan aktivitas seksual sebagaimana yang diinginkannya. Hal ini sejalan dengan yang diperjuangkan oleh kaum feminis radikal-libertarian. Namun, jika dikaitkan dengan makna yang terkandung dalam nama Lingga, terdapat maksud tersirat dalam cerpen ini yang menunjukkan dominasi seksual sesungguhnya tetap berada pada pihak laki-laki.Abstract:The aim of this study is to describe sexuality aspect of Lingga in short story entitled “Lelaki dengan Bibir Tersenyum” written by Radhar Panca Dahana. It is also intended interprete it within feminism perspective. This is a descriptive-qualitative research. The data is collected by using literary method. The data analysis applied feminism theories as references. The result showed that the sexuality aspects of Lingga reflects a freedom for women in committing whatever sexual activity as they expect to. This is in line with what radical-lybertarian feminists struggle for. Yet, if it is associated to the meaning of the word lingga, there is an implicit intention to suggest that sexual domination actually remains on the male side.

Abstract Certain farm women's organizations continue to represent the social feminist tradition of Canadian suffragism and the broader social Catholic feminism still influential elsewhere. Canadian historians have often criticized such groups in contrast with a more aggressive, equal-rights feminism found among urban and rural women in both waves of feminism. We argue that, far from being conservative, groups identified as social feminist serve to integrate farm women into public debates and political action, including feminism. We outline the history of the Cercles de fermières of Québec, founded in 1915, and the French Groupements de vulgarisation-développement agricoles féminins, founded since 1959. A comparison of members with nonmembers in each country and across the group, based on survey data collected in 1989 for 389 cases, suggests that club involvement has counteracted demographic characteristics expected to produce antifeminism. In general, we find less hostility to second-wave feminism than might be expected. Relying mainly on responses to open-ended questions, we argue that, for our subjects, feminism is tempered by distaste for confrontation. Issues supported by the movement for women's liberation are favoured by farm women, but the liberationist style and tactics are eschewed. Those of our respondents identified as feminists express preference for a complementarity modelled on the idealized family.

This paper addresses the paradoxes and possibilities for academic feminism in the Third Millennium drawing on feminist linguistics. It targets the role of language in the construction of social gender, focusing on data from Greek, and shows that gendering discourse can effect cultural change. It is suggested that academic feminists can be agents of cultural change when they promote feminist language reform in the service of challenging the dominant gender order.

Our book, Data Feminism (D'Ignazio and Klein, 2020), offers seven principles which suggest possible points of entry for challenging and changing power imbalances in data science. In this essay, we offer seven sets of examples, one inspired by each of our principles, for both identifying existing power imbalances with respect to the impact of the novel coronavirus and its response, and for beginning the work of change.

Abstract:
This study explores the ways in which two educated Yemeni women understand and engage with storylines in their society which position them as 'sisters of men' obliged to conform to expectations of 'good' wives, mothers, daughters and Muslims. My own long immersion in Yemeni society, and de se experience of being discursively, interactively and structurally positioned as a woman and a wife in that context created a compelling desire to explore the ascribed social identities, roles and relationships of women in Yemen. In keeping with the feminist underpinnings of this study, I used a holistic method of investigation, the life history interview, and a voice relational mode of analysis that facilitated engagement with the women and their multiple subjectivities and positionings. Findings suggest that far from understanding themselves as de facto victims of their men and their religion, these strong and outspoken characters actively and willingly embrace those storylines derived from Islam but live them in sometimes unexpected ways. I also collaborated with my storytellers in the construction of personal narratives to enable readers to understand a little more about the world that these women inhabit, and help transform "information into shared experience" (Denzin 2009: 216). This study makes conceptual, methodological, practical and political contributions and suggests areas for further research.

Esta tesis doctoral reflexiona sobre el impacto social y político de la explotación de datos masivos a nivel europeo. Cumple dos objetivos principales. En primer lugar, define el contexto general en el que se produce esta explotación, a través del análisis de cinco factores: a) la lógica de generación, recopilación y procesamiento de los datos masivos; b) el modelo de negocio de las grandes corporaciones de servicios digitales; c) el discurso mediático dominante acerca de las tecnologías big data; d) las reacciones sociales y formas de resistencia ante este nuevo escenario; y e) el reglamento europeo de protección de datos personales, incluyendo su fundamentación conceptual. En segundo lugar, discute en qué medida estos cinco factores favorecen u obstaculizan la privacidad, la libertad y el control sobre los datos, desde una perspectiva fundamentada en la teoría crítica del capitalismo, la filosofía republicana, la teoría política feminista y la teoría del framing. La investigación se compone de cinco publicaciones: 1. La conversación sobre big data en Twitter. Una primera aproximación al análisis del discurso dominante. 2. Tay is you. The attribution of responsibility in the algorithmic culture. 3. Big social data: límites del modelo notice and choice para la protección de la privacidad. 4. Your likes, your vote? A feminist view on privacy and personal data protection. Esta memoria contextualiza, organiza y relaciona las aportaciones principales de estos artículos.
This doctoral thesis reflects on the social and political impact of big data exploitation at the European level. The research fulfils two main objectives. Firstly, it defines the general context in which this exploitation is embedded, through the analysis of five factors: a) the logic of big data generation, gathering and processing; b) the business model of digital services corporations; c) the dominant media discourse on big data technologies; d) the social reactions and forms of resistance to this new scenario; and e) the European regulation on personal data protection, including its conceptual foundations. Secondly, it discusses to what extent these five factors favour or hinder privacy, freedom and control over data, from the lens of critical theory of capitalism, republican philosophy, feminist political theory and framing theory. The study consists of five publications: 1. La conversación sobre big data en Twitter. Una primera aproximación al análisis del discurso dominante. 2. Tay is you. The attribution of responsibility in the algorithmic culture. 3. Big social data: límites del modelo notice and choice para la protección de la privacidad. 4. Your likes, your vote? Aquesta tesi doctoral reflexiona sobre l'impacte social i polític de l'explotació de dades massives a escala europea. Compleix dos objectius principals. En primer lloc, defineix el context general en el qual es produeix aquesta explotació, a través de l'anàlisi de cinc factors: a) la lògica de generació, recopilació i processament de les dades massives; b) el model de negoci de les grans corporacions de serveis digitals; c) el discurs mediàtic dominant al voltant de les tecnologies big data; d) les reaccions socials i formes de resistència davant d’aquest nou escenari; i e) el reglament europeu de protecció de dades personals, incloent-hi la seva fonamentació conceptual. Abstract:
This thesis examines the trans-border circulation and production of feminist knowledge through translation. More specifically, my research focuses the translation of the U.S. women’s health book, Our Bodies, Ourselves, by a Chinese feminist NGO in 1998. My dissertation studies the social, cultural and political aspects of feminist translation, and examines the relation between translation and feminist praxis. Through the lens of gender and (feminist) health politics in 1990s China, I examine how the 1998 Chinese translation conveys the book’s message about how women should relate to their bodies. Set in the context of Chinese society opening up during the late 1970s, my research outlines the emergence of gender awareness in China with the influx of translated feminist texts, especially in the realm of women’s health research. Medical discourses were then assigned a privileged position in the studies of women’s sexual and reproductive health. However, with increased communications between Chinese and foreign feminists, Chinese women scholars developed new ideas around women’s sexual and reproductive health. The Chinese translation of OBOS addresses the lack of gender awareness in local discussions about women’s health. With a multi-method study, I emphasize the social and linguistic dimensions of translating a feminist health project into post-reform China. This study is based on both interview and comparative textual analysis data. Using feminist translation theories, I examine how the Chinese translators handled the book’s presentation of women’s sexuality and reproductive health. This thesis also highlights the constraints on translating feminism from the local context. This raises questions about the power of (feminist) translation, and emphasizes the need to examine the social-political context of translation practices.

Idag beaktas demografin genus i en betydligt mindre utsträckning än exempelvis kultur, vilket kan betyda att interaktiva digitala system som designas inte blir genusneutrala, dvs. att systemet ska tillfredsställa både feminina och maskulina individer i samma utsträckning. Syftet med den här studien är att undersöka hur praktiker hanterar genus genom hela designprocessen för interaktionsdesign. För att undersöka detta har en kvalitativ intervjustudie med inspiration av Grounded Theory utförts. Empirin ifrån intervjuerna har presenterats och analyserats med hjälp av kodning. Slutligen har resultatet diskuterats. Resultatet från studien pekar på att interaktionsdesigners inte alltid medvetet beaktar genus och att det inte anses behövas då designers redan upplever att den digitala världen är genusneutral. Diskussionen av resultatet tycks påvisa två faktorer som behövs för att designa ett genusneutralt system. Faktorerna som det argumenteras för är dels att ett feministiskt synsätt på design skapar goda möjligheter för att designa jämställda system. Dels är det av vikt att beakta genus som demografi i samma utsträckning som kultur för att öka möjligheterna att designen tillfredsställer såväl feminina som maskulina individers behov.
A user-centered perspective is often used by designers to be able to design interactive digital systems that attempt to meet users’ needs. The designers should take demographics such as culture, age and gender into consideration to get to know the end user of the system. Today, gender as a demographic area is considered in a lesser extent than for example culture. This indicates that systems are not designed to be gender neutral. The aim of this study is to examine how practitioners consider gender through the design process. To do this, a qualitative interview study inspired by Grounded Theory has been followed. The data from the interviews have been presented and also interpreted by coding. The discussion of the results tend to show two factors that are needed to be able to design a system that meets the needs of both feminine and masculine individuals equally. The factors argued for are that a feminist approach on design could enable a possibility to design a more equal system. Also, designers should take gender into greater consideration while designing systems so that the systems in fact meet the needs of both feminine and masculine users equally.

The topic of this thesis is AI recruitment chatbots, digital discrimination, and data feminism (D´Ignazio and F.Klein 2020), where I aim to critically analyze issues of bias in these types of human-machine interaction technologies. Coming from a professional background of theatre, performance art, and drama, I am curious to analyze how using AI and social robots as hiring tools entails a new type of “stage” (actor’s space), with a special emphasis on social acting. Humans are now required to adjust their performance and facial expressions in the search for, and approval of, a new job. I will use my “theatrical glasses” with an intersectional lens, and through a methodology of cultural analysis, reflect on various examples of conversational AI used in recruitment processes. The silver bullet syndrome is a term that points to a tendency to believe in a miraculous new technological tool that will “magically” solve human-related problems in a company or an organization. The captivating marketing message of the Swedish recruitment conversational AI tool – Tengai Unbiased – is the promise of a scientifically proven objective hiring tool, to solve the diversity problem for company management. But is it really free from bias? According to Karen Barad, agency is not an attribute, but the ongoing reconfiguration of the world influenced by what she terms intra-actions, a mutual constitution of entanglement between human and non-human agencies (2003:818). However, tech developers often disregard their entanglement of human-to-machine interferences which unfortunately generates unconscious bias. The thesis raises ethical questions of how algorithmic measurement of social competence risks holding unconscious biases, benefiting those already privileged or those acting within a normative spectrum.

Os irmãos Grimm foram intelectuais importantes para a manutenção e difusão da cultura germânica durante o século XIX, sendo responsáveis por estudos sobre a gramática alemã e compilações de contos e sagas até então presentes apenas na oralidade. Dentre suas obras, uma de grande destaque foi o Kinder- und Hausmärchen, a qual reunia pela primeira vez de modo escrito vários contos maravilhosos, dentre eles, o de “Branca de Neve”, que viria a se tornar um dos mais famosos. Com o passar dos séculos, essa narrativa passou a ser recontada por diversos autores em mídias variadas, como cinema, literatura e quadrinhos, num processo que Hutcheon (2013) define como adaptação. É possível notar que fatores como o pensamento e o modo de funcionamento da sociedade na qual a nova versão da obra foi feita e recepcionada influenciam diretamente nas escolhas dos autores em relação às suas adaptações, à construção das personagens e ao tipo de abordagem utilizado. Para este trabalho, foi selecionado um total de quatro adaptações de “Branca de Neve”, além de três versões do conto dos próprios Grimm, para serem analisadas e comparadas sob as abordagens temáticas: amenização, empoderamento do feminino, aterrorização e sexualização. O foco é a representação do feminino na figura da protagonista, observando as relações de gênero e poder que estabelece com a antagonista feminina (madrasta) e com os personagens masculinos da trama (pai, anões, príncipe, caçador), tomando como base os estudos de Scott (1995) e Flax (1991). É possível notar que as releituras do século XXI buscam fugir dos estereótipos dos papéis de gêneros já ultrapassados, no qual o masculino é dominante e o feminino é subjugado, embora ainda seja difícil que uma obra consiga atingir um empoderamento total do feminino. Muitas vezes, isso se dá de forma apenas parcial, pois os padrões heteronormativos são mantidos e/ou o empoderamento de um personagem só se torna possível em detrimento da submissão de outro(s).
The Grimm brothers were important intellectuals for the maintenance and diffusion of the Germanic culture during the 19th century, being responsible for studies on the German grammar and compilations of tales and sagas until then present only in orality. Among their works, one of the most outstanding was the Kinder- und Hausmärchen, which gathered for the first time in written form several fairy tales, among them, “Snow White”, which would become one of the most famous. Over the centuries, this narrative has been retold by several authors in various media, such as cinema, literature and comics, in a process that Hutcheon (2013) defines as adaptation. It is possible to notice that factors such as the thinking and society’s way of functioning, in which the new version of the work was made and received directly, influence the authors’ choices regarding their adaptations, the construction of the characters and the type of approach used. For this work, four adaptations of “Snow White” were selected, as well as three versions of Grimm’s tale itself, to be analyzed and compared under thematic approaches: mitigation, feminine empowerment, terrorization and sexualization. The focus is the representation of the feminine in the figure of the protagonist, observing gender and power relations that she establishes with the female antagonist (stepmother) and with the male characters of the plot (father, dwarves, prince, hunter), based on the studies by Scott (1995) and Flax (1991). It is possible to notice that the readings of the 21st century seek to escape the stereotypes of the roles of genres already surpassed, in which the masculine is dominant and the feminine is subjugated, although it is still difficult for a work to achieve a total empowerment of the feminine. Often, this occurs only partially, since heteronormative patterns are maintained and/or the empowerment of one character becomes possible only to the detriment of the submission of other(s).

Curious Cycles responds to the tensions that arise when designing technologies for menstruation and menstrual cycles, touching upon notions of curiosity, noticing, sharing, taking or making space, and our relationships with our bodies and their fluids. The project follows a Research through Design approach, guided by Soma Design and feminist research methods. Curious Cycles are a set of cultural probes; objects and interactions designed to gather experiences and insights from ve people who menstruate, throughout the duration of a cycle (approximately one month). The objects are meant to "cultivate curiosity", provoking reections on the ways we currently relate to our bodies and bodily uids and speculating on how we might relate to them in the future. This work seeks to approach the design method of cultural probes from a feminist perspective and contributes through the concept of "cultivating curiosity", a way to design menstrual cycle technologies by attending closely to the changing social and material experiences of the body, which in turn can challenge the cultural taboos surrounding menstruation.
Curious Cycles svarar mot spänningarna som uppkommer när teknologier designas för menstruation och menstruationscykeln, genom idéer kring nykenhet, att märka, att dela med sig, att ta eller göra plats, och våra relationer med våra kroppar och deras vätskor. Projektet följer en Research through Design metodik, guidad av Soma Design och feministiska forskningsmetoder. Curious Cycles är en uppsättning cultural probes; föremål och interaktioner designade för att samla erfarenheter och insikter från fem menstruerande personer genom deras hela menstruationscykel (vilka pågår cirka en månad). Föremålen är menade att kultivera nykenhet för att framkalla reektioner kring de sätt vi för närvarande relaterar till våra kroppar och kroppsliga vätskor på, och även för att spekulera kring hur vi kan relatera till de i framtiden. Detta arbete närmar sig cultural probes från feministiska perspektiv och bidrar med konceptet "cultivating curiosity", ett sätt att designa teknologier för menstruationscykeln genom att ingående uppmärksamma förändringar av sociala och materiella erfarenheter av kroppen, vilket i sin tur kan utmana kulturella tabun kring menstruation.

Abstract Studying pre-2000s pink porn magazines reveals the importance of politics in-between in the development of LGBTQ transnational organising in the twentieth century. The usual historical narratives of LGBTQ politics in the North are based on medical or legislative documents or on self-identified queers’ descriptions of their own interactions with these discourses. However, these discourses and data only capture parts of how twentieth-century queers developed sexual subjectivity, became nationally and transnationally organised, and conducted sexual politics. This chapter uses Claire Colebrook’s (Understanding Deleuze. Australia: Allen and Unwin, 2002) feminist engagement in Deleuze’s and Guattari’s concept device to discuss transnational political networks that rhizomatically connected the makers, disseminators and subscribers of male same-sex porn magazines produced in Denmark and Sweden between 1960 and 1980. The concepts enable an analysis of the messy entanglement of desire, subjectivity processes, consumption, organising and activism, and of the shaping of certain queer communities of belonging while also excluding others. The application of gender analysis to the entanglement of pink porn economies in queer transnational networks sheds a genealogical light on the historical division between the emergence of vis-à-vis lesbian and gay networks and politics—and on the tensions between them regarding so-called positive or negative sexual rights in the decades to come.

Ülkemizde özellikle son yıllarda sıklıkla tartışılan konular arasında yer alan toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği kavramı ülke gündeminde de oldukça yoğun bir şekilde incelenen bir alan olma özelliğiyle karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bundan kaynaklı olarak da kavramsal boyutuyla ilgili sıklıkla farklı tartışmalar doğabilmektedir. Hatta, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği günümüzde bile farklı disiplinlerle sıklıkla karıştırılabilmektedir. Buna en iyi örnek ise feminizm kavramının toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği sanılmasıdır. Ancak sanıldığının aksine feminizm, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği ile aynı anlamı taşımamaktadır. Feminizm her ne kadar toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği ile ilintili olsa da aslında tam olarak birbirlerini ikame eden terimler olmamaktadırlar. Fakat yine de birçok makale ya da araştırmada sanki aynı şeylermiş gibi anlatıldığına rastlanılabilmektedir. Ancak, özellikle son zamanlarda yapılan toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği çalışmaları incelendiğinde, bu yanlış anlaşılmaların aşılmaya başlandığı gözlemlenmektedir. Aynı zamanda bu içerikler sayesinde de toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği farkındalığı artmaya başlamakta ve sivil toplum kuruluşlarının, büyük markaların ve platformların desteğiyle de farkındalık her geçen gün daha da artmaktadır. Bu artışın en büyük göstergesi olarak da artık daha çok toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği temelli reklamların üretilmesi ve bu konuyla ilgili ödüllerin verilmeye başlaması gösterilebilmektedir.Bu nedenle bu çalışma kapsamında 2019 Kristal Elma Ödül Töreninde Toplumsal Cinsiyet Eşitliği kategorisinde dereceye giren reklamlar literatür taraması ve göstergebilimsel analiz yöntemleri ile incelenerek ülkemizdeki toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği hareketinin reklam ayağı ve ülkemizdeki toplumsal cinsiyet algısı üzerinden yorumlamalar yapılmaktadır.

Entretanto, à medida em que os campos de informática e tecnologia adquiriram maior valorização, a presença feminina nestas áreas diminuiu progressivamente. Esta desproporcionalidade vem sendo atribuída a estigmas de gênero e ao apagamento da contribuição de mulheres à computação, desestimulando e desmerecendo sua atuação nos referidos ramos. Nesse sentido, nos propomos a apresentar iniciativas de empoderamento e capacitação no âmbito de um projeto de extensão junto a cursos de informática, de nível médio técnico e superior, com o objetivo de combater a evasão escolar feminina.

Abstract:
Aim/Purpose: This research paper reports on the evaluation of a mental health self-management program provided to immigrant nurses working at various rural South Australian aged care services. Background: The residential aged care staffing crisis is severe in rural areas. To improve immigrant nurses’ employment experiences, a mental health self-management program was developed and conducted in rural and regional health care services in South Australia. Methodology: A mixed approach of pre- and post-surveys and post workshop focus groups was utilized with the objectives of exploring the experiences of 25 immigrant nurses and the impact of the mental health program. Feminist standpoint theory was used to interpret the qualitative data. Contribution: A new learning environment was created for immigrant nurses to learn about the theory and practice of maintaining and promoting mental health. Findings: Statistical tests showed a marked difference in responses before and after the intervention, especially regarding knowledge of mental health. The results of this study indicated that a change in thinking was triggered, followed by a change in behaviour enabling participants to undertake self-management strategies. Recommendations for Practitioners: Include expanding the workshops to cover more health care practitioners. Recommendations for Researchers: Feminist researchers must actively listen and examine their own beliefs and those of others to create knowledge. Extending the program to metropolitan areas and examining differences in data. E technology such as zoom, skype or virtual classrooms could be used. Impact on Society: The new awareness and knowledge would be beneficial in the family and community because issues at work can impact on the ability to care for the family, and there are often problems around family separation. Future Research: Extending the research to include men and staff of metropolitan aged care facilities.

The analyzed data indicatedthat in the state of Pará, we have the male predominance on thesector either on the superior courses as on the work market andwage inequalities. Abstract:
The relevance of the problem posed in the article is determined by the role of psychological safety in the development of the individual against the background of the growth of securitization in modern society, the need to detect factors affecting it. The purpose of the study is to establish the nature of the relationship between cognitive variables and psychological safety of the individual, considering the gender. According to the hypothesis of the study, gender characteristics of the individual, determining the cognitive component of the individual's attitude to himself and to the world, affect psychological safety. The sample of the study included university students of Vladivostok (n=300, 60 – men, 240 – women, the average age is 19 years). Used methods: “Psychological safety of educational environment” (PSEE)” (Baeva I.A.), “Kiselev’s thermometer” (“gradusnik sostoi͡aniĭ”), (Kiselev Yu.Ya.), “Bem Sex-Role Inventory (BSRI)” (Bem S.), “World assumptions scale” (Yanov-Bulman R.) in the adaptation by Padun M. A., Kotelnikova A.V. with comparative, correlation, regression and factor analysis in the Python. The results show significant correlations between gender and basic beliefs of the individual (p≤0,001), safety of the educational environment, components of psychological safety (p≤0,001); stable influence of masculinity and femininity on the attitude of the individual to the world and to himself, on the components and characteristics of safety (determination coefficients – 0,5-0,6). Based on the study of data on psychological safety and basic beliefs of students, considering their gender traits, conclusions are made about the influence of gender on the cognitive component of safety. In general, gender characteristics and beliefs of an individual are important for psychological safety, although a strict determination was not identified in the study and requires further study. The influence of gender on beliefs about peace and safety is more pronounced in the feminine type than in the masculine type. The sense of safety of a person with feminine traits is largely due to her trust in others, faith in a good and fair world, and with masculine traits – the belief in her ability to control events.
