Cilvēki ir dabas sastāvdaļa, viņi ir īpaša, vienreizēja dabas daļa, kam piemīt saprāts. Tāpēc arī, uz savu saprātu balstoties, viņiem jāveido attiecības ar apkārtējo dabu.Daba cilvēkus nodrošina ar visu nepieciešamo, sākot ar gaisu, ūdeni, zemi, beidzot ar tās bagātībām, lai cilvēki varētu dzīvot un attīstīties. Dabai pastāvīgi jānodrošina cilvēku pieaugošās vajadzības, tāpēc tai jābūt “neizsmeļamai noliktavai”. Taču daba, no vienas puses, ir patiešām neizsmeļamu bagātību krātuve, jo nemitīgi savus krājumus atjauno, bet, no otras puses, - dabas bagātības ir ierobežotas, pat vairāk - tās jau beidzas. Lai no šī ļaunuma izvairītos, vismaz atbīdītu to pēc iespējas tālu, daba, apkārtējā vide, tās bagātības ir jāsaudzē.Cilvēks šai gadījumā ir dabas daļa, kas spēj novērst jau pašu cilvēku darbības radītās nepatīkamās sekas. Tādēļ pasaulē aizvien vairāk tiek aktualizēta tīras dabas vides problēma. Tiek rīkoti semināri, konferences, veidotas organizācijas, kuru uzdevums būtu informēt sabiedrību par aktuālajām vides problēmām un censties novērst jau esošās. Dibinātās organizācijas ir gan vietēja rakstura, gan starptautiskas.Divdesmitā gadsimta otrajā pusē vides aizsardzība pasaulē izvērtās par vienu no vissvarīgākajām tiesību sargāšanas nozarēm, jo bruņošanās sacensības, masu iznīcināšanas ieroču, nesaprātīgas industrializācijas, kodolenerģētikas, vides urbanizācijas un lauksaimniecības ķimizācijas rezultātā strauji pasliktinājās cilvēka un dzīvās dabas pastāvēšanai nepieciešamie dabiskās vides apstākļi.

Abstract:
AbstractThe second (2008) season of fieldwork of the Cyrenaican Prehistory Project has significantly advanced understanding of the Haua Fteah stratigraphy and of the archaeology and geomorphology of the landscape in which the cave is located. The excavations of the McBurney backfill have reached a total depth of 7.5 m below the present ground surface, the depth at which two human mandibles were found in the 1950s excavations. Reconnaissance at the Hagfet ed-Dabba established that the sediments associated with the Upper Palaeolithic ‘Dabban’ industry were more or less entirely removed by the McBurney excavation. Exploratory excavations in the Hagfet al-Gama, a coastal cave west of the Haua Fteah, found evidence of Mesolithic, Neolithic, and Hellenistic occupation. The initial results from the study of botanical remains, both macroscopic and microscopic, obtained in the 2007 season at the Haua Fteah confirm the potential of the site to yield a rich suite of materials to inform on climatic and environmental change, and on human activities in the cave.

Abstract:
<p>This paper deals with comparison of responses of PI and Proportional Resonant controlled DC to AC Converter systems. The objective of this work is to regulate the output of Dual Active Bridge DC to DC converter (DABDAC). The input DC is converted into high frequency AC using Half bridge inverter. It is stepped up by using step up transformer and then it is rectified. The DC is converted into Low frequency AC using a Half bridge inverter. The open loop DABDAC system, closed loop PI based DABDAC system an Proportional Resonant Controller (PRC)based DABDAC system are designed, modeled and simulated using MATLAB Simulink. The results of PR controlled system are compared with those of PI controlled system. The results indicate that the proposed PRC-DABDAC has better time domain response than PI controlled DABDAC system. The proposed DABDAC system has advantages like high gain and steady state error in output voltage. </p>

Abstract:
An open-source database containing metrology data for X-ray mirrors is presented. It makes available metrology data (mirror heights and slopes profiles) that can be used with simulation tools for calculating the effects of optical surface errors in the performances of an optical instrument, such as a synchrotron beamline. A typical case is the degradation of the intensity profile at the focal position in a beamline due to mirror surface errors. This database for metrology (DABAM) aims to provide to the users of simulation tools the data of real mirrors. The data included in the database are described in this paper, with details of how the mirror parameters are stored. An accompanying software is provided to allow simple access and processing of these data, calculate the most usual statistical parameters, and also include the option of creating input files for most used simulation codes. Some optics simulations are presented and discussed to illustrate the real use of the profiles from the database.

Abstract:
The mechanisms by which magnetisation changes occur in magnetic materials may be investigated by a variety of hysteresis measurements. During this study both alternating and rotational hysteresis measurements were used to characterise the mechanisms of magnetisation change in a number of permanent magnet materials. Studies of the time dependence of magnetisation, remanent magnetisations and the dependence of the reversible magnetisation on the irreversible magnetisation were undertaken. These studies revealed that in sintered rare-earth iron magnets the magnetisation change is predominately controlled by domain nucleation, with a lesser contribution from domain wall pinning within the boundary regions of the grains. Similar mechanisms control the magnetisation change in the larger grains of melt-quenched rare-earth iron magnets. In the single domain grains of the melt-quenched materials incoherent rotation mechanisms control the changes of magnetisation. Magnetisation change in MnAlC and sintered AlNiCo was found to be controlled by domain wall pinning within the interior of the grains of the materials. Two devices were constructed for the measurement of rotational hysteresis. The first measures the angular acceleration of a sample set spinning in a magnetic field, from which the rotational hysteresis loss may be determined. The second employs rotating search coils to make direct measurements of the component of magnetisation that contributes to rotational hysteresis loss during the rotation of a sample in a field. Both devices were found to produce data consistent with that in the literature and to be useful for the characterisation of rotational hysteresis in permanent magnet materials. A simple model was used to examine the dependence of rotational hysteresis loss on various material parameters. It was found that the value of the rotational hysteresis integral is dependent on interactions and to a lesser extent distributions in anisotropy. This is contrary to assumptions commonly made in the literature but consistent with published experimental data, which has been reinterpreted. Measurements of rotational hysteresis losses in the materials studied were found to be effected by geometric demagnetisation effects. A method by which such data may be corrected for these effects is proposed. Following correction and consideration of the interactions within the materials, the rotational hysteresis data was found to be consistent with the characterisations performed in linearly alternating fields.

Une autre dimension s’ajoute à cet aspect, il s’agit de l’aspect anthropologique de la dabka, la dabka en tant que manifestation sociale au Liban.Un choix méthodologique des enregistrements du terrain qui a duré pendant plus qu’une année au Liban, a permis de confronter les confirmations à priori de ce même terrain avec les résultats des analyses faites au cours de cette thèse pour les composantes ethnomusicologique et ethnochoréologique
This thesis focuses on the dance dabka, the most important musico-choreographic expression of the musical landscape in Lebanon. The dabka is analyzed from a unified musico-choreographic standpoint where the dance is investigated in connection with music. The anthropological aspect is also considered, where the dabka is viewed as a social manifestation in Lebanon. A methodical selection of recordings, collected over a period of time of more than one year in Lebanon, allowed subjecting common beliefs to scientific scrutiny focusing on ethnomusicological and ethnochoreological aspects

Abstract:
This thesis presents the results of research in a small village located in the mountains of Sichuan Province in southwestern China. The thesis argues that traditional irrigation practices vital to paddy-rice production in the village have been stressed by local weather events. It also argues that local villagers have not responded effectively to such changes, and that failure to adjust has contributed to social stress observed at the site. During the earlier years of the study period (1945 to 2012), improvements were made in local irrigation, which seem to have helped farmers continue with traditional subsistence wet-rice farming in a fragile mountain environment. However, in later years of the period village social order showed two significant signs of collapse: first, because of emigration, fewer people were left to farm higher mountain levels so farm land was being abandoned; second, social crowding in lower level riverside farming areas, partly the result of highland emigration, began reducing the amount of land being farmed there. While reducing intensive cropping of highland farming areas can result in spontaneous recovery of natural resources such as soil and water, crowding in lower areas can contribute to deterioration of natural resources in the lower village farmland. Crowding can, in addition, have a bearing on community health problems. The thesis results are of value to researchers concerned with the adaptive behavior of local farming communities trying to maintain their traditional irrigation-dependent way of life in a fragile mountain environment while experiencing the effects of changeable weather. Thesis results are of additional value to those who study the impact on society of earth-warming, especially if variable local weather in the Dabashan is shown to be related to global climate change.

Abstract:
Bottom sediments of some small modern lakes located at the Khamar-Daban and Kodar Ridge (East Siberia) were investigated by 14C dating, chemical and biological methods. Graphitization and AMS-analysis were carried out in the laboratory AMS Golden Valley using AMS constructed at Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics (Novosibirsk, Russia). Depth-age model and paleo-proxies evidenced that studied lakes began form since ca.12 ka cal. BP, and there were hiatuses in lacustrine sedimentation at ca. 18–22 and 5 ka cal. BP.

Abstract:
The distribution of zoobenthos communities in six small mountain streams of the northern macroslope of the Khamar-Daban Ridge in the district between the Baikalsk city and the village Murino was investigated. There are 16 taxonomic groups registered in the communities. The dominant groups are most often Oligochaeta, Chironomidae (larvae and pupae), endemic Amphipoda, larvae of Trichoptera and Planariidae. The largest macrozoobenthos biomass was observed in ripal zone of the streams on heavily silted grounds, and the smallest – on sandy grounds with an admixture of silt and detritus at the fairly fast flow.

Pastatai yra vieni iš didžiausių energijos vartotojų ir aplinkos teršėjų. Taip pat pastatuose žmonės praleidžia didžiąją savo gyvenimo dalį. Labai svarbu užtikrinti, kad pastatai būtų komfortiški, energiškai efektyvūs ir tuo pačiu darantys minimalų poveikį aplinkai. Visapusiškam pastato tvarumo (kokybės) įvertinimui yra sukurtos įvairios metodikos. Viena iš jų yra BREEAM tvarių pastatų vertinimo metodika. Naudojant šią metodiką galima sėkmingai ir efektyviai pritaikyti įvairius tvarius projektinius sprendimus, kurie neštų naudą tiek pastato valdytojui, tiek pastate esančiam vartotojui. Nedaugelis statytojų linkę investuoti tiek į BREEAM sertifikatą, kuris nėra privalomas, tiek į pačias tvarumo priemones. Viena iš to priežasčių – informacijos stoka apie papildomas investicijas ir jų sukuriamą pridėtinę vertę. Šiame straipsnyje analizuojama, kiek reprezentatyvus administracinės paskirties ir beveik energijos nevartojantis pastatas (A++ energinio naudingumo klasė) galėtų pasiekti kreditų už energijos suvartojimo ir CO2 emisijos mažinimo poskyrį vertinant pagal BREEAM metodiką. Rezultatai rodo, kad projektuojant pastatą pagal dabar galiojančius statybos techninius reglamentus, pastato charakteristikos leidžia pasiekti aukštą įvertinimą pagal BREEAM vertinimo sistemos ENE 01 poskyrį.

En mi investigación doctoral, titulada Estética de la proyección audiovisual. Asamblea, ficción y derecho a la ciudad en Poble Sec, Barcelona, exploré la práctica estética y pedagógica de dos colectivos surgidos tras el Movimiento 15M: el Cinefòrum de la Assemblea de Veïns i Veïnes de Poble Sec y el Taller de Ficció. Los dos empleaban la proyección de imágenes como principal herramienta de sus actividades, y lo hacían además mediante un dispositivo fluido y móvil que les permitía circular por diversos puntos de un mismo barrio. Miembro activo en ambos casos de estudio, el seguimiento etnográfico que llevé a cabo de sus respectivos devenires trataba de esclarecer un modo de existencia en común a través del “agenciamiento” (Deleuze y Guattari, 1988) de elementos humanos y no-humanos que lo sostenía y de la política sociomaterial que le daba forma. Sin embargo, al término de la escritura de la tesis empecé a valorar que el papel de los afectos había sido crucial en la constitución y desarrollo de tales agenciamientos, a la vez que desatendido en cierta medida por mi investigación. Esta presentación busca restituir esa falta a partir de autoras como Anna Hickey-Moody (2019), Lauren Berlant (2012) o Elizabeth de Freitas (2018). Concretamente, esta última ha calificado como “transindividual sympathy” al “proceso por el que se deviene otro sin borrar al otro” (p. 6). Se trata del ensamblaje afectivo de una serie de personas y cosas cuyas capacidades para obrar o modificar una situación resultan, y se mantienen, heterogéneas. O, en definitiva, de un hacer y sentir conjunto (es decir, alentado por otros y junto a otros). Ahora bien, ¿cómo se puede reconocer ese proceso en términos etnográficos y políticos? ¿Cuáles son sus rastros y sus evidencias, sus intensidades y sus modos de aparecer, sus aperturas y sus límites?
