El mundo griego y romano imaginó distintos escenarios escatológicos, entre ellos, un Más Allá asociado a los astros, surgido en el ámbito del pitagorismo, con posibles influjos orientales, que platonismo, estoicismo y neoplatonismo hicieron suyo. La creencia en una trascendencia vinculada a los astros se desarrolló sobremanera en el periodo comprendido entre el siglo I a.C. y finales de la Antigüedad, como atestiguan el Somnium ciceroniano y el comentario que sobre el mismo elaboró Macrobio, textos que analizaremos detenidamente en este artículo. Este desarrollo, que también atestigua la epigrafía funeraria, no fue ajeno a la creciente astrolatría, fruto de la práctica astrológica, sobre todo en el culto al Sol Invictus y en los populares cultos mistéricos, que, con cada vez mayor presencia de elementos astrales, prometían a sus adeptos una supervivencia del alma tras la muerte.

Que ce soit dans les lieux de culte chrétiens, musulmans ou juifs, la lumière, naturelle ou artificielle, n’a pas pour seul objectif d’éclairer le monument mais représente aussi, et surtout, la présence divine (Bonnéric 2012a). Ce rôle est d’ailleurs mis en valeur dans les textes sacrés. Ainsi, par exemple, Jésus annonce : « Je suis la Lumière du monde, qui me suit ne marchera pas dans les ténèbres, mais aura la lumière de la vie » (Jean 8 : 12). Dans le Coran apparaît ce célèbre verset : « Dieu est la Lumière des cieux et de la terre. Sa lumière est semblable à une niche où se trouve une lampe. La lampe est dans un récipient de cristal et celui-ci ressemble à un astre de grand éclat » (XXIV, 35).

During the sixth century the relevance of natural disasters, well known phenomena in Antiquity, underwent a change. As common chronological systems had calculated the end of the world to come about around 500 AD, the long series of natural disasters which occurred from the beginning of the sixth century onwards was interpreted as a sign of that approaching end. In a context of strong eschatological expectations and together with the fact that the imminent end of the world did not take place, ongoing natural dis asters assumed important implications for the process of transition from the East Roman to the Byzantine Empire. Older, well known and widely disseminated chronological systems came to lose validity and new systems developed. In common perceptions, the powers of famous Holy Men had obviously failed as they were unable to prevent major disasters. Hence the search for new objects of worship: the rapid diffusion of the cults of Christ, the Virgin and of the saints. The worship of these intercessors was practised through images, marking the beginning of the famous Byzantine cult of icons. Gradually the functions of the Holy Men underwent a change: formerly intercessors with God, now they intervened between the emperor and his subjects as the emperor himsclf assumed an amplified religious aura in order to place himself above and beyond the new and severe Kaiserkritik, one more consequence of the natural disasters of the sixth century.

AbstractThis work applies a previously suggested model of gravitational field propagation to various planetary bodies within the solar system. Primarily the goal has been to critically test the validity of this model by identifying observations which are in direct conflict with it. Specifically this model predicts a Doppler shift in gravitational acceleration (gD). Applying the model to the planets and the Sun gD acts to increase planetary spin, opposing various sources of drag. The model is seen not to be in conflict with a wide variety of observed parameters which have been treated here and is shown to quantitatively account for several observed phenomena previously thought to be unrelated and which have been di˚cult to explain conventionally. These phenomena include the internal heat generation and magnetospheric generation within the gas giants as well as super rotation which seen in most planetary atmospheres as well as the Sun as differential rotation. This model for the first time provides a quantitative prediction of the low internal heat generation seen in Uranus compared to Neptune. It also provides a novel mechanism for solar coronal heating, thermospheric heating in the gas giants and the correlation between climate and magnetosphere observed on Earth.

Probably already by the relatability of the traditional plot elements – the title and the denouement – the story «The Third Extra» pretends to a special reader, if not capable of risk, then at least inquisitive, ready to live a small space of text at least for the purpose of waiting for the novelty of the story under the provocatively formulaic words of the title cartouche. And such a reader will be rewarded with a tangible reward even for the sophisticated law of double-finality familiar in contemporary literature. Despite the fact that the decoding of the title in the last lines of the text is in the style of the retreat «from a day of direct sight to a day of avoidance.» This definition of reality by the famous philosopher and psychoanalyst Elisabeth Rudinesco could be applied to characterize in the story the fate of the man of comfort, who subordinates life to the cult of reason (simple) necessity, where there is no place for passions or affects, where everything is meant to be an alternative to the Freudian metaphor of man – not a master in his own home, simply because financial wealth allows this man to «unfroyd» multiply the number of buildings of which he is the owner. But it is in the light of Rudinesco’s theory that the man of comfort in The Third Man appears as a subject who has suffered an indescribable total defeat. The comfort person in the book may fail to observe the interdependence of the unproblematic nature of her living in society and her reproductive death, caused by sluggish, depleting cells that have a purpose in prolonging life in children. She may not notice that the discovery by science of the mystery of the beginning of life and the banalized already practice of IVF is accompanied by a periodic rebellion of the irrational, the unconscious and the superconscious, so that a reasonable plan is provided to cross the random encounter of germ cells. But in the eyes of the reader, the catastrophe of mere repose will appear more terrible than the catastrophe of explosive events. And the reader will experience the need to get out of the comfort zone of the characters, who refuse NOT planned to the same physically weak third child, as the inhabitants of the ancient Greek city of Kamiros went out into the desert behind the protective walls, to feel real life among the dangers and risks, to experience in the desert unpredictable own complexity as a challenge to the simplicity of the certainly understandable.

O artigo aborda os conceitos de imagem, arte e Pathosformel nos estudos de Aby Warburg, com especial atenção ao tema astrológico, aqui compreendido enquanto expressões de “orientação cósmica figurativa”, que integram as memórias imagéticas coletivas. Acordamos que Warburg aderiu ao problema das fontes figurativas como testemunhos do homem na história, tendo o tema dos astros como presença constante e essencialmente útil para o esboço de sua proposta científico-cultural (Kulturwissenschaft). Investigando “o desenvolvimento do elemento cosmológico”, Warburg subsidia-se por “uma ciência de orientação em forma de imagens” e alude a criação de “uma nova história da arte científico-cultural”. Considerando que obras de arte refletem a vida histórica, ele também as compreendia como “instrumentos de orientação no cosmos celeste”, e aprofundou-se na relação do homem com o mundo-tempo-espaço, detectando “tensões polares” destas lutas cósmicas, entre liberdade e necessidade, entre cálculo e culto, lógica e mito, ou entre Atenas e Alexandria.

Isaac Newton remarqua dans la conclusion de ses fameux Principes mathématiques de la philosophie naturelle (1687) : « Les idolâtres s’imaginaient que le soleil, la lune, les astres, les âmes des hommes et toutes les autres parties du monde étaient des parties du Dieu suprême et que, par conséquent, on devait leur rendre un culte, mais c’était une erreur. » Le mathématicien observait de façon similaire en concluant son Traité d’optique : « A la vérité, si les païens n’eussent pas été aveuglés par le culte des faux dieux, ils auraient poussé leur philosophie morale bien au-delà de ce qu’ils nommaient les quatre vertus cardinales ; et au lieu d’enseigner la transmigration des âmes, le culte du soleil et de la lune, et des héros décédés, ils auraient enseigné la raison suprême pour laquelle notre souverain Bienfaiteur et véritable Auteur doit être adoré. » Une question se pose au lecteur contemporain : comment rendre compte de l’insertion de ces considérations théologiques en conclusion de deux traités de nature essentiellement mathématique ?Des éléments de réponse se trouvent dans un manuscrit inachevé de Newton intitulé « Les origines philosophiques de la théologie païenne » (Theologiæ gentilis origines philosophicæ), un traité d’histoire des religions comportant plus de 130.000 mots répartis sur quelque 200 folios. Newton y soutient notamment que la cosmologie des Anciens était de nature théologique du fait qu’elle procédait en partie de la projection sur les éléments du cosmos des âmes des ancêtres de l’humanité déifiés. C’est ainsi que Newton voit dans la catastérisation des premiers hommes l’origine de l’animisme astral, de l’astrolâtrie et de l’astrologie. A ses yeux, la chute originelle de l’homme dans l’idolâtrie aurait corrompu aussi bien la vraie religion que la connaissance de la philosophie naturelle, l’animisme propre aux cosmologies des anciens peuples orientaux formant le pendant philosophique de l’astrolâtrie païenne. Il importait dès lors de désacraliser les éléments du cosmos afin de rétablir aussi bien le culte pur que la science véritable.Après avoir identifié les sources et décrit les principes exégétiques qui sous-tendent le traité des Origines, nous examinerons l’historiographie newtonienne des origines et de la diffusion de la physico-théologie païenne, depuis la naissance du culte des astres en Egypte ancienne jusqu’aux doctrines émanationnistes enseignées par les scolastiques. Nous montrerons ensuite en quoi le système du monde proposé par Newton se présentait comme une alternative désacralisée aux conceptions cosmologiques animistes des Anciens. Nous nous interrogerons finalement sur la provenance de l’animus iconoclaste qui caractérise les écrits théologiques et philosophiques de Newton. Il s’agira de discerner les sources d’influence qui marquèrent sa formation intellectuelle et religieuse au travers de l’examen des polémiques qui divisèrent le milieu réformé au sein duquel il grandit. Il en ressortira que l’auteur des Principes entendait bien désenchanter le cosmos afin de satisfaire les exigences d’un monothéisme austère et intransigeant
Isaac Newton stated in his conclusion to the Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy (1687) : “Idolaters imagined that the sun, moon, and stars, the souls of men, and other parts of the world were parts of the supreme God, and so were to be worshipped, but they were mistaken.” The famed mathematician correspondingly observed in the conclusion of his treatise on Opticks : “And no doubt, if the worship of false gods had not blinded the heathen, their moral philosophy would have gone farther than to the four cardinal virtues; and instead of teaching the transmigration of souls, and to worship the sun, and moon, and dead heroes, they would have taught us to worship our true Author and Benefactor.” The modern reader may ask : Why conclude two treatises that are fundamentally mathematical in nature with these theological considerations?Part of the answer lays in an uncompleted manuscript by Newton titled “The Philosophical Origins of Pagan Theology” (Theologiæ gentilis origines philosophicæ), a treatise on the history of religions comprising more than 130.000 words on about 200 folios. Newton’s claim therein is that the cosmology of the Ancients was in essence theological since it partly proceeded from the belief that the souls of the deified ancestors of mankind had been projected into elements of the cosmos. This catasterisation of early men was, in Newton’s eyes, the actual origin of stellar animism, star worship, and astrology. Thus, the original fall of man into idolatry corrupted both true religion and the right understanding of natural philosophy, as the intrinsic animism of oriental cosmologies was the philosophical counterpart of pagan astrolatry. Restoring pure worship and true science required, therefore, that elements of the cosmos be first desacralized.In this work, I will first identify the sources and characterize the exegetical principles behind the treatise on Origins. I will then examine the Newtonian historiography of the origins and dissemination of pagan physicotheology, from the beginning of star worship in ancient Egypt to the emanationist doctrines taught by Medieval schoolmen. I will then show how Newton’s own system of the world presented itself as a disenchanted alternative to the animistic cosmological beliefs of the Ancients. I will eventually trace the roots of Newtons’s iconoclastic ethos which characterizes much of his theological and philosophical writings. To this end, I will consider the sources of influence that bore upon Newton’s upbringing in relation to the religious contentions which divided the Reformed milieu he grew up in. I will eventually argue that the author of the Principia meant indeed to desacralize the cosmos to meet the demands of an austere and uncompromising monotheism

Desde há muito tempo que o Homem admira os astros. O aparente vazio que os sustenta é a malha de todo o mistério suspenso, apelativo à imensurável imaginação humana. Dado pela relativa imediação, tanto o Sol como a Lua, estes dois astros têm visualmente proporção idêntica. Pela mesma razão de proximidade, são de longe os mais admirados, chegando ao extremo de ser provavelmente os mais venerados. Basicamente, o primeiro, é pela luz, energia e claridade que erradia, o que nos permite observar o que nos rodeia. O segundo, é pelo reflexo luminoso da claridade que o primeiro nos dá a conhecer e, por outro lado, é aquele que ilumina grande parte das noites. Portanto, ambos são os principais astros luminares. E assim foi crescendo desenvolto ao longo das eras do Homem. Este, deslocando-se à conquista e descoberta do vasto terreno, subindo às montanhas e olhando ainda mais para cima, mais de perto, admirado, interrogava-se se o que ele ali via no céu seria o que potencialmente daria razão ao que o prendia ao solo que pisava. De facto, paulatinamente foi aprendendo e hoje sabe que subsiste na forte razão existencial da verdade Astral, um motivo agregador da conjugação dos corpos no cosmos. E nele, a gravidade é uma das leis imutáveis da natureza universal, que nos mantém presos à vida desta nossa casa … a Terra.

"Prefață: Consiliere și mentorare cu impact Călăuzirea spirituală: de la „avva” Antichității la mentorul de azi Sfântul apostol Pavel le scria romanilor: „Dar cum vor chema pe Acela în care n-au crezut? Și cum vor crede în Acela despre care n-au auzit? Și cum vor auzi despre El, fără ca cineva să predice? Și cum vor predica, dacă n-au fost trimiși? Astfel, credința vine din cele auzite, iar cele auzite, prin Cuvântul Lui Dumnezeu.” (Romani 10: 14-15). Nimeni n-a plecat la propovăduire de capul lui. 1. Inițial, Isus „a chemat pe cine a vrut” (chemarea; vocația divină: gr. kaleo; lat. voco/are = a chema); 2. apoi, „ei au venit la El și a rânduit dintre ei 12, ca să-i aibă cu Sine” (răspunsul personal: voluntar și prompt [lat. protinus = îndată]; asumarea vocației apostolice și „ucenicia” alături de Isus timp de trei ani; gr. mathitevo = a fi discipol; a învăța; lat. discipulus); și 3. în final, Isus „i-a trimis să predice” (misiunea apostolică; gr. apo/stello; lat. mitto/ere = a trimite; missio/onis = trimitere; gr. kirysso = a propovădui; „a face o proclamație în calitate de herald”; un „mesager al Domnului”; gr. kyr = domn) [Marcu 3:13-14]. Chemare, ucenicie, trimitere..., toate acestea s-au petrecut „la împlinirea timpului” (Galateni 4:4), într-un moment de cumpănă al omenirii, cum ar zice E. Cioran: „Pe culmile disperării”, când „Poporul care stătea în întuneric, a văzut o mare Lumină și, celor care zăceau în ținutul și în umbra morții, le-a răsărit Lumina” (Matei 4:16) „transfigurării cosmice” (Cioran) mesianice. Isus n-a venit într-o lume pregătită să-L primească, ci într-o lume bulversată, disperată și în așteptare... Nu era o lume mai dreaptă, mai bună, mai credincioasă, mai morală, mai cultă, mai catehizată, mai primitoare decât cea de azi. Dar Isus n-a ținut cont de nimic din toate astea, ci pur și simplu a venit să-și îndeplinească „misiunea”: a învățat, a vindecat boli incurabile, a înviat persoane trecute în „viața de apoi”, a iertat, a exorcizat „demonii” multor patimi, a dat sens multor vieți, a provocat, a contestat formalismele Templului, cărturarilor și fariseilor, a declanșat furia mai marilor vremii și nu a fugit de supliciul și „rușinea” crucii. Într-un fel, la (răs)crucea vremurilor de azi, lucrurile par a se suprapune cu cele din timpul lui Isus. Trăim într-o lume complet debusolată, secularizată, nihilistă, agnostică, sceptică, indiferentă, relativistă, dezumanizată, lacomă și nesătulă, buimacă, parcă „fără istorie spirituală și fără viitor”, ostilă Celui de Sus și refractară oricărei morale, o epocă a indiscreției și lipsei de pudoare, a pornografiei, traficului de carne vie, vânzărilor de armament, droguri etc., fără sentimentul păcatului (Morale sans péché, dr. Hesnard, 1954), fără pic de rușine, fără valori, direcție, sens și destinație spirituală. Dumnezeu ne-a adus de la haos (abis, „tohu wa bohu” = o lume „fără formă și goală”; „fără cap și fără coadă”) la kosmos (ordine, viață, „căpătâi”), dar noi, parcă tributari „vocației entropiei”, mergem ireversibil către neant, nonsens și autodistrugere. Dumnezeu ne-a dăruit Viața, dar noi, incapabili să-i descifrăm farmecul, bucuria, valoarea și sensul, ne-o suprimăm sau ne-o irosim în nimicnicie. Ne-a dăruit Iubirea, dar ura, intoleranța și resentimentele ne stăpânesc. „Lumina a venit în lume, dar oamenii au iubit mai mult întunericul decât lumina, pentru că faptele lor erau rele.” (Ioan 3:19). Nu suntem cu nimic mai buni peste 2000 de ani decât atunci, dimpotrivă! Dar, în loc să stăm și să ne lamentăm continuu, mai bine căutăm soluții. Omul sfințește locul! Tuturor acestor provocări vor trebui să le facă față duhovnicii, mentorii, cateheţii și toți învățătorii spirituali de azi. O teologie de manual, scolastică, teoretică, stearpă și polemicile noastre confesionaliste sunt de mult depășite. Cum „imputa” ironic un student profesorului de dogmatică: „Dom’ profesor, cred că nici Dumnezeu nu știe despre El atâtea câte ați scris dumneavoastră în manualul acesta!” Termeni, dogme, erezii, speculații filosofice, dispute – la ce servesc toate astea? „Nimic nu e mai sărac decât cugetarea care, stând afară de Dumnezeu, filosofează despre Dumnezeu.” (Diadoh, episcop al Foticeei, sec. V). Azi, e nevoie de creștini autentici și mărturisitori adevărați (gr. martirevo = a mărturisi; de aici și termenul de „martir”) într-o relație vie cu Dumnezeu, „din interiorul Lui”, în Duhul Lui, nu doar de niște transmițători de cunoștințe teologice exterioare, mereu puși pe harță pentru monopolul (exclusivismul) și „drepturile de autor” asupra „adevărului” divin. Vremea polemicilor sterile a apus. Lumea nu mai are nevoie să afle „sexul îngerilor”! E nevoie de o Întâlnire adevărată cu Dumnezeu, nu doar la nivelul minții și speculațiilor teologice, ci și la nivelul inimii și al spiritului. Un consilier sau mentor spiritual asta va trebui să facă, să-l conducă pe omul zilelor de azi la Marea Întâlnire existențială și spirituală cu Dumnezeu. „Oare poate un orb să călăuzească pe un alt orb? Nu vor cădea amândoi în groapă?” (Luca 6:39). Avem nevoie de duhovnici adevărați, de consilieri adevărați, de mentori spirituali adevărați, cu pregătire umană, teologică și viață spirituală pe măsură, care să înțeleagă omul de azi cu toate problemele, slăbiciunile și ezitările lui, nu de triumfaliști „îmbelferiţi ai spiritului”, de legaliști, formaliști, moraliști de mucava care să te trateze de pe poziții de superioritate, suficiență și omnisciență. Avem nevoie de călăuze spirituale umane, calde, autentice, vii care să „nu ne dea lecții de morală ieftină” și de „auto-izbutită soteriologie”. Nu e nevoie de „experți” care să ni se insinueze drept „modele” și „păstori” ai unei turme paraplegice și oarbe, ci de oameni adevărați cu inimă caldă și mare, cu care să putem intra într-un dialog real, de la om la om, de la suflet la suflet, cu Dumnezeul cel Viu prezent în mijlocul nostru. Predica publică e una, relația de îndrumare spirituală, de consiliere sau de mentorat este alta. Este o relație particulară, de la om la om, cu o forță de impact soteriologic imensă: o adevărată „chirurgie spirituală” în care omul își oferă mentorului spiritual inima deschisă ca „pe tavă” cu toată încrederea. De măiestria și responsabilitatea duhovnicului, consilierului sau mentorului spiritual depinde „reușita operației” și felul în care este „suturată” incizia. Din păcate, mulți au rămas profund dezamăgiți și debusolați după „întâlnirea” cu unele „pseudo-călăuze” sau „mercenari” implicați în acest câmp psihologic și spiritual extrem de fragil. Predica te poate atinge parțial, dar cuvântul adresat direct, de la inimă la inimă, n-are cum să nu-ţi trezească sentimente, întrebări, idei, aspirații puternice. Aceasta și era relația directă dintre avva (maestrul spiritual) și ucenic, încă din antichitatea creștină, și către asta tindem și acum, spre o neo-evanghelizare sau re-încreştinare autentică (nu îndoctrinare sau prozelitism) a omului, prin comunicarea față în față cu mentorul, un om mai experimentat, pregătit (psihologic și spiritual), cu învățăcelul, în curs de formare, pentru a-l smulge din marasmul și pericolele societății atee despre care vorbeam mai sus. Mai trebuie doar să înțelegem că, azi, această relație spirituală de călăuzire este cumva „pe picior de egalitate”. Nimeni nu se consideră superior nimănui, doar „maestrul” spiritual este dispus și disponibil să (se) investească în „discipol”, în beneficiul orientării lui existențiale și mântuirii. Aceasta înseamnă „artă” și autenticitate spirituală! Volumul de față, Consiliere și mentorare cu impact, ca, de altfel, întreaga colecție Autentic, urmăreşte obținerea unor mărturii adevărate ale unor persoane autentice, care să le fie de folos în orientarea și formarea oamenilor dispuși să-și caute calea și rostul lor spiritual. Așa cum, deja, ne-a obișnuit apariția primului volum, Copilărie și parentalitate cu impact, structura celui de față este la fel de coerentă, variată și interesantă cum, nu mă îndoiesc nicio clipă, vor fi și cele ce vor urma. Coordonatoarea volumului și a colecției, doamna conf. univ. dr. Patricia Runcan, un manager cultural excelent și, la rându-i, un om spiritual autentic, nu se dezice, nici de această dată, de stilul ei „nemțesc”, precis, pedant și de chemarea/menirea pe care i-a dat-o Dumnezeu: de a învăța în școală, de a mărturisi în/prin Biserică și de a scrie mesajul divin celor dispuși să-l asculte. Abstract Pre-Islamic Arabia, before it was influenced through various conquests by Judaism, Christianity, and perhaps Zoroastrianism, was polytheistic in its religion. Jinn (spirits) were worshiped, and various tribal groups worshiped their own, often astral deities. Cult centers were marked by temples, and by holy stones (baetyls) representing these and other tribal deities. Also sacred trees could serve as cult centers. For instance, Muhammad’s tribe, the Qyraysh, worshiped a great tree called the Dhat Anwat on the road between Mecca and Medina. Given the nomadic nature of many of the tribes, objects—especially stones—in any given place could be invested temporarily with the sacred and used as a focus of worship (see Allouche, 364).

The current county of Maramureş is made up of four ethnographic areas, geographically, historically and ethnographically distinct, being an ancient Romanian hearth with history chiseled in wood and stone, in soul and in verb. These are called countries of Maramureş, and namely: Maramureşului Country, or Historical Marmaureşul or Voivodal, Lapuşului Country, Chioarului Country and last but not least, Codrului Country. One of the most controversial countries of Maramureş, Ţara Codrului, covers a rather narrow area compared to other ethno-folkloric areas, the ethno-cultural space of this area currently falls administratively in the counties of Maramureş, Satu Mare and Sălaj, although in in the past they belonged to Sălaj county, most of the localities being integrated into the Cehu Silvaniei network. The identification of ancient customs and traditions preserved to this day or the reconstitution of some long-forgotten customs or traditional occupations from the folklore area of Maramures Ţara Codrului would lead to the valorization of the way of transmitting local values, customs, occupations, beliefs and symbols shared by the community, so that, subsequently, they are implemented in the daily life of the new generations. Being one of the most important traditional dances of our country, the Caluşari dance dates back to the pre-Christian period, being related to the ancient cult of the Sun. Considered by some specialists as the decayed descendant of an ancient ritual, coming from the mists of time, this particularly spectacular Romanian folk dance is included in the heritage of humanity. The ritual dance of the Caluşaris, of high artistic value of Romanian folklore, is our symbol for the scenes of the world; it is the emblem that connects equally to history and myth, without ignoring its semantic and value universality. This living symbol of our culture represents the uniqueness of the Romanian people, both through the movements of the footmen and through their clothing. It must be emphasized that the people regarded the game of the Gags as an unusual fact, because the energy and frenzy that the Gags displayed during the game did not seem natural to them, perpetuating the idea that they are led by a supernatural force that gives them powers. Later, the Caluşari bands participated in all Astra events or other important events of the time because leading a national dance band was an occasion of pride and national affirmation, the dance of the Caluşaris from Transylvania becoming a national emblem for the artistic expression of the leading Romanian villages.
