<p>Studien är en begreppsvalidering av personlighetsformuläret Pers Q som utgår från ”Big Five”-teorin. Pers Q relaterades till ett etablerat personlighetsinstrument, CTI, som utgår från Jungs personlighetstypologi. Vidare undersöktes om det i Pers Q dimensionerna fanns förväntade könsskillnader samt förväntade samband med generell intelligens. Data samlades in från sökande till officersutbildning (N=552 varav 58 kvinnor) och analyserades genom korrelationer, regressionsanalyser samt t-test. Resultatet indikerade att Pers Q mäter delar av CTI vilket delvis kan förklaras av testens teoretiska perspektiv. Vidare visar studien att de skillnader och samband som undersöktes inte fullständigt överensstämmer med de förväntade. För att säkerställa Pers Q dimensionernas egenskaper behöver fler studier utföras enär begreppsvaliditet bör uppfyllas i en serie av prövningar.</p>

O serviço foi disponibilizado aos familiares de pacientes internados e demais membros da equipe de saúde intensivista, funcionando na antessala do referido setor, duas vezes por semana, durante quatro meses. Alicerçado sob os pilares da Abordagem Centrada na Pessoa (ACP) buscou-se compreender os pressupostos teórico-metodológicos que fundamentam essa modalidade de cuidado, as especificidades do setting no que se referem aos objetivos, ações e funções do plantonista, assim como, as urgências reveladas neste contexto. Para tanto, elegeu-se como método do estudo a pesquisa qualitativa de base fenomenológica, sendo avaliadas as trajetórias do semear e germinar do Plantão Psicológico. São analisados seis casos clínicos, os quais lançam luz sobre essa modalidade de atenção psicológica no CTI. Quanto ao perfil da clientela atendida se observou que essa foi composta predominantemente por familiares, mulheres entre 20 a 75 anos, em média com o Ensino Fundamental e renda de um salário mínimo mensal. Os resultados indicam a necessidade e viabilidade da oferta do Plantão Psicológico no CTI, as demandas urgentes por auxílio psicológico, desveladas nos sentidos que os clientes atribuíram as suas experiências, tais como, medo de que o familiar faleça, sensação de abandono do familiar, culpa por não poder permanecer ao seu lado, tristeza intensa em razão do estado de saúde ou quando do óbito, entre outros. Dois tipos de atendimentos foram, naturalmente, criados: o individual e o grupal, sendo consideradas as especificidades das demandas. Ressalta-se também quanto a esta modalidade a disponibilização do pronto atendimento as urgências, acolhimento e estímulo a comunicação. Portanto, considera-se que a oferta do Plantão Psicológico no CTI revelou-se necessária como um espaço de cuidado psíquico aceito, utilizado e legitimado pelos clientes, além de se configurar em dois momentos distintos, antes e após ás visitas, sendo que no primeiro destes, destacam-se as intervenções voltadas ao acolhimento e fortalecimento da organização do self, enquanto no segundo, aquelas voltadas a ajudar os clientes na ressignificação de suas experiências ameaçadoras e a reorganização do self.<br>This study evaluates the implementation and development of the Psychological Attendance Emergency Service within an Intensive Care Unit - ICU of an university hospital linked to the public health system, in Belém city (Pará). The service has been offered to patients family members as well as to professionals of the intensive care team within the ICU, working in the lobby of the sector, twice a week for four months. The author aimed to understand the theoretical and methodological assumptions that grounds this type of care, as well as the setting characteristics in which they relate to the objectives, roles and functions of the emergency psychology service, as well as emergencies revealed in this context, both founded on the Person-Centered Approach (PCA) It has been chosen the phenomenological qualitative research method to evaluate the trajectories of seeding and germination of the Psychological Emergency Attendance Consultation. Besides that, six clinicals cases were analyzed, to borrow better understanding of this kind of psychological care in the ICU. Related to profile of the persons studied it was observed that was mostly comprised by family members, women ages 20 to 75 years on average, with the Elementary school and income of a minimum wage per month. The results indicate the necessity and feasibility of provision of Psychological Emergency Attendance Service in the ICU; the urgent demands for psychological help, have been unfolded within the meanings that clients attributed to their experiences, such as, fear of the family deaths, feelings of family abandonment, guilt for not being able to stay by his side, intense grief because of health or when they died, among other.s It also unveiled two types of consultation: the individual and the group, considering the demands specificities . It has been emphasized the availability of care emergencies, welcoming and encouraging communication. Therefore, it is consider that provision of Psychological Emergency Attendance Service in ICU was revealed as necessary as well as a space to psychological care which has been accepted, used and legitimated by clients. It was also set at two different moments, before and after the visits. Regarding the first , we can distinguish the interventions addressed to wellcoming and strengthening the organization of the self, while after the visists, the interventions aimed at helping clients in reframing their threatening experiences as well as helping them reorganize the self.

Este trabalho tem como foco um setor do hospital moderno - o seu Centro de Tratamento Intensivo Geral - unidade que concentra recursos humanos e tecnológicos a serviço de pacientes com grande risco de vida. Partindo da premissa de que, na sociedade ocidental contemporânea, o hospital tomou-se local de delegação social dos cuidados dos doentes e campo de exercício do saber médico, essa pesquisa tem por objetivo analisar de que forma, na prática cotidiana dos profissionais de saúde, são tomadas as decisões referentes à doença, sofrimento e morte dos doentes internados. A prática médica é compreendida como sendo estruturada sobre uma dupla dimensão - o cuidado e a competência e -, muitas vezes em oposição, criticamente implicada neste processo de decisões. Para analisar as manifestações dessa tensão estruturante foi realizada etnografia de um CTI de um hospital público universitário da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. A partir da etnografia, foi desenvolvida uma análise da identidade profissional específica dos agentes de saúde do CTI. A observação etnográfica também evidenciou a construção - pelos profissionais do setor - de um sistema classificatório dos pacientes internados, que influi sobre a tomada de decisões médicas. A análise desses dados aponta a complexidade da equação competência-cuidado no processo decisório, no qual o profissional atua apoiado tanto em seu saber quanto em sua subjetividade e em valores culturais.

Denna rapport är resultatet av en studie som utförts på initiativ av Holmen Skog och Stora Enso. Syftet har varit att analysera i vilken utsträckning man med hjälp av CTI-teknik (Central Tyre Inflation, som innebär varierbart lufttryck i däcken på lastbilar), på ett kostnadseffektivt sätt, kan öka tillgängligheten på virke under de perioder då vägarnas bärighet är nedsatt. Dåliga vägar skapar stora problem för skogsindustrin främst under perioder av tjällossning eller rikligt regn. Studier visar att med CTI på lastbilar minskar påfrestningarna på vägarna och vägar som normalt inte är framkomliga under tjällossningsperioden kan bli körbara. På så vis förhindras att virke ligger oåtkomligt vid avstängda vägar och lagerhållningen av virke inför tjällossningsperioderna kan minskas. Studien har utförts i tre steg och ett skogsdistrikt i Ludvikatrakten har valts som försöksområde. Först har en analys gjorts av hur mycket virke som trots allt finns tillgängligt under tjällossningsperioderna och hur långt det räcker för att täcka industrins efterfrågan. Sedan har en optimeringsmodell byggts för att ta reda på hur många CTI-bilar som behövs för att köra ut en viss mängd virke till industrierna. Slutligen har resultatet jämförts med kostnaderna för lagerhållning av motsvarande volym. Bearbetning av data har skett i GIS (Geografiska informationsystem). Resultaten visar att p.g.a. höga kostnader för lagerhållning jämfört med investerings- och driftskostnader för CTI-teknik är det klart mer lönsamt att köra ut virke med CTI-bilar än att lagerhålla. Detta gäller även med viss överkapacitet i antalet CTI-bilar. Med liknande förutsättningar som för studieområdet visar studien att det är lämpligt att CTI-utrusta 30%-40% av lastbilsflottan.

The effect of Intra-pixel sensitivity variation (IPSV) in charge-coupled devices (CCDs) can be important in astronomical applications. This thesis studies the IPSV in a front-illuminated three-phase EEV05-20 CCD used in the Automated Patrol Telescope (APT), from multiple points of view. To explore the detailed sensitivity variation within pixels, the CCD was scanned using a 4 \mu meter diameter light beam in four colour bands: B, V, R and I. The resulting images clearly show the IPSVs due to the CCD electrode structure, and its dependence on wavelength. Unexpected ghost images appear in the scan images that are most likely due to the charge transfer inefficiency (CTI) of the CCD. A correction procedure for the CTI effect is presented. Using the pixel response function (PRF) which was derived from the CCD scans, instrumental point spread functions (iPSFs) were calculated from dithered images observed by the APT. The accurate iPSFs allowed us to generate a variety of simulated images of APT observations, enabling us to analyse in detail the effect of IPSV on astronomical observations. One of the astronomical impacts of IPSV is on photometry. The IPSV effect on the precision for estimating star fluxes was studied using both observed and simulated images. The IPSV effect can be expressed as magnitude estimation error maps plotted against the fractional part of a star's coordinates. The IPSV effect introduces \pm 4% errors in star fluxes for observed images with the APT in V band. Another astronomical impact of IPSV is on astrometry. IPSV influences the precision for estimating star coordinates, and this was studied using a number of simulated images. The IPSV effect can be expressed as coordinate estimation error maps plotted against the fractional part of a star's coordinates. The IPSV effect introduces \sim 0.02 pixel errors in RMS for images observed with the APT in V band. The appearance of the unexpected ghost images in the CCD scans suggested that CTI might also affect observed images. We examined the effects on PSFs and photometry. The CTI effect does affect the shapes of PSFs, but only to a small fraction. Its effect on photometry is negligible.

La presente tesi nasce da un tirocinio avanzato svolto presso l’azienda CTI (Communication Trend Italia) di Milano. Gli obiettivi dello stage erano la verifica della possibilità di inserire gli strumenti automatici nel flusso di lavoro dell’azienda e l'individuazione delle tipologie testuali e delle combinazioni linguistiche a cui essi sono applicabili. Il presente elaborato si propone di partire da un’analisi teorica dei vari aspetti legati all’utilizzo della TA, per poi descriverne l’applicazione pratica nei procedimenti che hanno portato alla creazione dei sistemi custom. Il capitolo 1 offre una panoramica teorica sul mondo della machine translation, che porta a delineare la modalità di utilizzo della TA ad oggi più diffusa: quella in cui la traduzione fornita dal sistema viene modificata tramite post-editing oppure il testo di partenza viene ritoccato attraverso il pre-editing per eliminare gli elementi più ostici. Nel capitolo 2, partendo da una panoramica relativa ai principali software di traduzione automatica in uso, si arriva alla descrizione di Microsoft Translator Hub, lo strumento scelto per lo sviluppo dei sistemi custom di CTI. Nel successivo passaggio, l’attenzione si concentra sull’ottenimento di sistemi customizzati. Un ampio approfondimento è dedicato ai metodi per reperire ed utilizzare le risorse. In seguito viene descritto il percorso che ha portato alla creazione e allo sviluppo dei due sistemi Bilanci IT_EN e Atto Costitutivo IT_EN in Microsoft Translator Hub. Infine, nel quarto ed ultimo capitolo gli output che i due sistemi forniscono vengono rivisti per individuarne le caratteristiche e analizzati tramite alcuni tool di valutazione automatica. Grazie alle informazioni raccolte vengono poi formulate alcune previsioni sul futuro uso dei sistemi presso l’azienda CTI.

This work covers extension of the existing telemarketing software. Functions for creating user defined report were added to this software. The server side is based on the PostgreSQL 8.2 database server. The client side is implemented in language C# using Visual Studio 2005 as development environment.

The work group in charge of editing the trauma disorders in the upcoming edition of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) made several changes to the trauma criteria. Specifically, they simplified the criteria for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and added a new trauma disorder called complex PTSD (CPTSD). To assess the new and newly defined trauma disorders, Litvin, Kaminski and Riggs developed a self-report trauma measure called the Complex Trauma Inventory (CTI). Although the reliability and validity of the CTI has been supported, no empirically-derived cutoff scores exist. We determined the optimal CTI cutoff scores using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analyses in a diverse sample of 82 participants who experienced trauma and were recruited from an inpatient trauma unit, student veteran organizations, and university classrooms. We used the Clinician-Administered Interview for Trauma Disorders (CAIT) to diagnose the presence of an ICD-11 trauma disorder, and we correlated the results of the CAIT with the Clinician-Administered PTSD Scale for the DSM-5 to establish the convergent validity of the CAIT, r = .945, p < .001. For the ROC analyses, the CTI was used as the index test and the CAIT was used as the criterion test. The area under the curve (AUC) analyses indicated good to excellent effect sizes, AUC = .879 to .904. We identified two sets of cutoff scores for the CTI: the first set prioritized the sensitivity of the CTI scores and ranged from .884 to .962; the second set prioritized the specificity of the CTI scores and the false-positive scores (1-specificity) ranged from .054 to .143. Our study enhanced the utility of the CTI and addressed another need in the trauma field by developing a structured clinical interview (CAIT) that can be used to diagnose the ICD-11 trauma disorders.

The People give life and dynamic to organization, the subjectivity of people moving the work and relationships inherent in to it. In health the work differs from the others, especially regarding to interpersonal relations and subjectivity of workers and customers. The Intensive Care Unit which operate in different categories of professionals in providing intensive care to patients in critical health conditions, have a unique way of life that makes the professionals attributing meaning of work differently. For the service provided is consistent with both the organization and the principles and values of the professional is necessary for workers to attribute meaning of work. The term meaning refers to the understanding of the rationale to be of the professionals to do their jobs. Given the above, this study aimed to understand the meanings of work for health professionals who work in the ICU of a university hospital in Belo Horizonte. This is a qualitative study conducted in an Intensive Care Unit of a university hospital in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The subjects were 31 health professionals who worked in direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit, namely: nurses, nursing technicians, doctors, physiotherapists, speech therapists, nutritionists and psychologists. Data was collected through interviews with semi-structured analyzed by content analysis of Bardin. We analyzed four dimensions of meaning of work: the individual dimension, organizational, social and daily activities. The individual dimension is related to the professional aspects of the subjects that have significant proportions in personal life. The individual values the professional recognition they receive from others and yourself. Also, realize that through the labor he is able to grow personally and professionally in addition to satisfy. The organizational dimension associated with the identification of the professional organization . Thus, it was observed that dimension organizational structure, teamwork, interpersonal relationships and the role of these in the social life of the professional, organizational commitment and recognition of the institution. The dimension to everyday professional work focuses on the act, do work and those resulting from the same, as the pleasure in seeing your work and patient recovery, the perception of the effectiveness and usefulness of it. The social dimension analyzes the social value of work as well as his contribution and inclusion in society. The meaning of work for health professionals working in an ICU in which they act different categorical professionals articulate and reframe the work becomes relevant in the organization of the work process and managerial practices. Moreover, can contribute to design ways to revalue the work and give direction to act in line with organizational goals avoiding deviations of behaviors that endanger the assistance beyond the redemption of the human being in its subjective dimension in health practices.<br>As pessoas dão vida e dinâmica à organização, ou seja, a subjetividade das pessoas movimenta o trabalho e as relações inerentes a ela. Na saúde o trabalho se diferencia dos demais, principalmente, no que concerne às relações interpessoais e à subjetividade dos trabalhadores e clientes. Os Centros de Terapia Intensiva nos quais atuam profissionais de diferentes categorias na prestação de cuidados intensivos à pacientes em estados críticos de saúde, possui um modo de vida singular que faz com que os profissionais atribuam sentidos ao trabalho de forma diferenciada. Para que o serviço prestado seja coerente tanto com a organização quanto com os princípios e valores do profissional é necessário que os trabalhadores atribuam sentidos ao trabalho realizado. O termo sentido refere-se à compreensão da razão de ser dos profissionais ao realizarem seu trabalho. Visto o exposto, este estudo teve como objetivo compreender os sentidos do trabalho para profissionais da saúde que atuam no CTI de um hospital universitário em Belo Horizonte. Trata-se de um estudo de natureza qualitativa desenvolvido em um Centro de Terapia Intensiva (CTI) de um Hospital Universitário em Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram 31 profissionais da saúde que atuavam na assistência direta ao paciente no CTI, sendo eles: enfermeiros, técnicos de enfermagem, médicos, fisioterapeutas, fonoaudiólogos, nutricionistas e psicólogos. Os dados foram coletados após aprovação do projeto nos Comitês de Ética em Pesquisa das instituições envolvidas e após a assinatura do Termo de Consentimento Livre e Esclarecido (TCLE) pelos sujeitos. A coleta foi realizada em dois momentos: 1) questionário para identificar o perfil dos sujeitos; 2) entrevista com roteiro semiestruturado e aplicação da Técnica do Gibi. A entrevista juntamente a Técnica do Gibi foram submetidas à Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin. Os resultados foram elaborados tomando-se como base as dimensões do sentido do trabalho: individual, social, organizacional e fazer cotidiano. A dimensão individual está relacionada com aspectos profissionais dos sujeitos que possuem proporções significativas na vida particular dele. É nesta dimensão que o indivíduo valoriza o reconhecimento profissional que recebe dos outros e de si mesmo do trabalho que realiza. Ademais, ele percebe também que por meio do trabalho ele é capaz de crescer pessoal e profissionalmente além de se satisfazer com a prática profissional. A dimensão organizacional está associada à identificação que o profissional tem com a organização. . Dessa forma, foram observados nessa dimensão a estrutura organizacional, o trabalho em equipe, os relacionamentos interpessoais inerentes ao trabalho e o papel desses na vida social do profissional, o comprometimento organizacional e o reconhecimento da instituição devido ao trabalho prestado. A dimensão fazer cotidiano enfoca o trabalho profissional em ato, ou seja, o fazer profissional e os resultantes do mesmo, tais como: o prazer em ver o seu trabalho realizado e a recuperação do paciente, a percepção da efetivação e utilidade do trabalho em ato. Além das formas de realizar o trabalho e de tratar o indivíduo com singularidade e humanidade. A dimensão social analisa o valor social do trabalho bem como a inserção dele na sociedade. Nesta seção, buscou-se apresentar como o profissional enxerga a contribuição do seu trabalho para a sociedade. A compreensão do sentido do trabalho para profissionais da saúde que atuam em um CTI de um Hospital Universitário no qual atuam diferentes categoriais profissionais que se articulam e ressignificam o trabalho torna-se relevante na organização do processo de trabalho e das práticas gerencias. Além disso, pode contribuir para projetar meios de revalorizar o trabalho e lhe dar sentido, de forma que os profissionais atuem em consonância com os objetivos organizacionais, evitando assim, os desvios de comportamentos que comprometem a assistência e também, contribuir para o resgate do ser humano em sua dimensão subjetiva nas práticas em saúde.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Silva_JoseAntonioda_D.pdf: 21581539 bytes, checksum: 099864fc5149a9352616af17207c291d (MD5) Previous issue date: 2004<br>Resumo: As técnicas utilizadas no esclarecimento de estruturas macromoleculares estão situadas em campos interdisciplinares, onde os pesquisadores encontram-se unidos por um interesse comum, no sentido de detalhar o entendimento da função biológica e a relação com sua estrutura primária e tridimensional. Os inibidores de sementes de leguminosas são encontrados sob várias isoformas. Alguns métodos, como a espectrometria de massas, determinação da seqüência Nterminal e eletroforese bidimensional, vêm sendo amplamente explorados com o propósito de caracterizar melhor as isoformas presentes em sementes. A eletroforese bidimensional do inibidor de tripsina de Copaíba (CTI) revelou a presença de vários spots na faixa de 11 e 9 kDa. CTI foi resolvido em dois picos (CTI-I e CTI-II) quando submetido à cromatografia de fase reversa em coluna C18 em sistema HPLC. Esses picos distintos foram submetidos à eletroforese bidimensional sendo três spots observados para CTI-I com pl de 8.0, 8.5 e 9.0 e três spots para CTI-II com pl de 4.7, 4.6 e 4.3. A análise por espectrometria de massa foi realizada para as subunidades CTI-I e CTI-II objetivando determinar as massas moleculares acuradas e prováveis números de isoformas para cada subunidade. Os espectros confirmaram uma heterogeneidade para CTI-I e CTI-II com predominância dos picos de massa 10.719 e 8.244, respectivamente. A impossibilidade em seqüenciar todos os spots para cada subunidade de CTI, norteou a escolha dos spots A e F de forma continuar os estudos de sequenciamento. Os spots A e F foram submetidos a digestões enzimáticas com as proteases tripsina, SV8 e clostripaína. A massa exata dos peptídeos de cada digesto foi determinada por espectrometria de massas utilizando MALDI- TOF. Os peptídeos mais intensos foram purificados e seqüenciados em um HPLC capilar acoplado ao espectrômetro de massas ESI QTOF. A estrutura primária final de CTI, determinada a partir da massa dos peptídeos das digestões enzimáticas e da seqüência obtida por espectrometria de massas indicou 182 resíduos de aminoácidos, apresentando elevado grau de homologia em relação a outros inibidores de tripsina do tipo Kunitz de vegetais; inclusive com o resíduo de arginina na posição do sítio reativo. A estrutura cristalográfica CTI foi resolvida, revelando que este inibidor é composto por duas cadeias polipeptídicas não covalentemente ligadas e possui apenas uma ponte dissulfeto. t de as diferenças estruturais, CTI é um inibidor efetivo de tripsina com uma constante de dissociação de 1,2 nM, da mesma ordem de grandeza que os inibidores padrões como STI, ETI ou WCI. Sua estrutura tridimensional revela que isso se deve ao fato de que as discrepâncias estruturais não afetam a conformação canônica do seu loop reativo. A comparação entre a seqüência deduzida dos mapas experimentais da densidade eletrônica e a seqüência determinada por 2D-PAGE e espectrometria de massas MALDI-TOF e ESI-QTOF, mostra um acordo de aproximadamente 75%, que pode ser devido à presença de várias isoformas que é um aspecto comum das proteínas extraídas de sementes. Experimentos objetivando a determinação dos residuos de aminoácidos importantes na atividade inibitória de CTI foram realizados utilizando reagentes modificadores específicos. O inibidor CTI foi inativado em 48 e 81% por EDC e PGO, respectivamente. Esses compostos atuam em grupos carboxila de Asp e Glu (EDC) e resíduos de arginina (PGO) , indicando funcionalmente a importância do resíduo de arginina na interação do inibidor com a protease. Estudos da estabilidade conformacional em diferentes pHs, temperaturas e agentes caotrópicos fomecem importantes informações sobre a biogênese e estrutura das proteínas. Um estudo verificando o efeito de agentes físico-químicos (pH, temperatura, DTT, uréia e cIoreto de guanidina) na estabilidade conformacional do inibidor de tripsina (CTI) purificado de sementes de Copaifera langsdorffii foi realizado. CTI, um inibidor atípico da família Kunitz, demonstrou ser resistente em sua estabilidade funcional, apesar de sofrer prejuízos na estrutura quatemária após redução em 1 mM DTT como evidenciado por SDS-PAGE, gel filtração em protein-pack, experimentos cinéticos, espectros de fluorescência e de dicroísmo circular. Os experimentos de desnaturação em função dos agentes caotrópicos foram monitorados pela intensidade de fluorescência dos resíduos de triptofano. A desnaturação de CTI na presença de agentes caotrópicos mostrou ser um processo reversível após diálise, para estrutura e função no caso da uréia e do cloreto de guanidina. Os resultados indicaram que a desnaturação de CTI envolve pelo menos dois estágios: nativo e desnaturado. A presença de 3.5 M de uréia ou GdnHCI inibiu 50% e 100% da atividade inibitória, respectivamente. Ambos agentes caotrópicos promoveram um deslocamento do centro de massa. O cálculo da estabilidade conformacional AG (H20) foi feito tomando-se o deslocamento nos comprimentos de onda máxima de emissão de fluorescência como parâmetro. O AG (H2O) em função da concentração de uréia e guanidina foi de 63.0 e 54.0 Kcal mol-1, respectivamente. Os cálculos de centro de massa foram tomados em função da concentração do agente desnaturante em ambos os casos<br>Abstract: The techniques used in the clarification of macromolecular structures are situated in interdisciplinary fields, where the researchers find themselves united by a common interest in detailing the agreement of the biological function and the relation with its primary and threedimensional structure. The inhibitors of leguminous seeds are found under severa I isoforms. Some methods, as the mass spectrometry, determination of the N-terminal sequence and bidimensional electrophoresis have been widely explored with the purpose of better characterizing these isoforms in seeds. The bidimensional electrophoresis of the Copaiba trypsin inhibitor (CTI) disclosed to the presence of several spots in the 9 and 11 kDa. CTI was resolved in two peaks (CTI-I and CTI-II) when submitted to the reverse phase chromatography in C18 column in HPLC system. These distinct peaks had been submitted to bidimensional electrophorese, 3 spots had been observed for CTI-I with pl of 8.0, 8.5 and 9.0 and three spots for CTI-II with pl of 4.7, 4.6 and 4.3. The analysis for mass spectrometry was carried through for subunits CTI-I and CTI-II objectifying to determine the accurate molecular masses and probable numbers of isoforms for each subunit. The specters had respectively confirmed microheterogeneity for CTI-I and CTI-II with predominance ofthe peaks ofmass 10,719 and 8,244, respectively. The impossibility to sequence ali spots for each subunit of CTI guided the choice of spots more intense (A and F) to continue the sequence studies. Spots A and F had been submitted to the enzymatic digestions with proteases trypsin, SV8 and clostripain. The accurate mass of the peptide of each digest was determined by mass spectrometry using MALDI-TOF MS. The most intense peptides were been purified and sequenced in a LC connected to the spectrometer of mass ESI QTOF. The primary structure of CTI, determined trom the mass of the peptide of the enzymatic digestions and the sequence gotten for mass spectrometry indicated 182 residues of amino acids, presenting a raised degree of similarity to other Kunitz-type inhibitors of the plant, also with the residue of arginine in the position of the reactive site. The crystallographic structure of CTI inhibitor was solved and reveals that, CTI is composed by two non-covalently bound polypeptide chains and only one disulfide bridge. In spite of these structural differences, CTI is an effective trypsin inhibitor with a dissociation constant of 1.2 nM, a value comparable to other standard Kunitz-type inhibitors like STI, ETI or WCI. It three-dimensional structure reveals that this is because the structural discrepancies do not affect the canonical conformation of reactive loop of CTI. The comparison between the sequence deduced from the experimental electron density maps and the sequence determined using 2D-PAGE, MALDI- TOF and ESI-QTOF mass spectrometry shows an agreernent of about 75%, which can be due to the presence of various isoforms that is a common aspect of proteins extracted trom seeds. Experiments objectifying the determination of the important amino acid residues in the inhibitory activity of the CTI were perfomed using specific modifying reagents. The CTI inhibitor was inactivated in 48 and 81% for EDC and PGO, respectively. These composites act in carboxyl group of Asp and Glu (EDC) and residues of arginine (PGO), indicating functionally the importance of the arginine residue in the interaction of inhibitor with protease. Studies of the conformacional stability in different pHs, temperatures and chaotropic agents have given a wealth of information on the structure and biogenesis of proteins. A study verifying the effect of physico-chemical agents (pH, temperature, DTT, urea and guanidine hydrochloride) in the conformacional stability of trypsin inhibitor (CTI) purified trom seeds trom Copaifera langsdorffii was carried through. CTI an atypical inhibitor of the Kunitz family demonstrated to be resistant in its functional stability, although suffering trom damages in the quatemary structure with reduction in 1 mM DTT as evidenced for SDS-PAGE, gel filtration in protein-pack, kinetic experiments, spectrum of fluorescence and circular dichroism. The denaturation experiments in function of the chaotropic agents were monitored by the intensity of the fluorescence of tryptofan residues. The CTI denaturation in the presence of chaotropic agents showed to be a reversible process after dialysis, for structure and function in the case of the urea and guanidine chloride. The results had indicated that the denaturation of CTI involves at least two steps: native and denatured. The presence of 3.5 M of urea or GdnHCI inhibited 50% and 100% of the inhibitory activity, respectively. 80th chaotropic agents had promoted a displacernent of the mass center. The conformational stability calculations dG (H2O) were made by taking the wavelengths corresponding to the maximum fluorescence emission as a pararneter. Budování kontaktního centra je velmi rozsáhlou a komplexní problematikou. Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na aspekt efektivního využití dostupných technologií pro podporu procesů kontaktního centra (CC), především pak v bankovním sektoru. V práci je zpracován multidimenzionální model obslužnosti kontaktního centra zachycující procesní stránku řízení. Model obslužnosti je poté zasazen do kontextu současných technologií pro CC a výsledkem je model, který zachycuje vliv jednotlivých technologií na proces řízení interakcí. Tento model je v závěru teoretické části aplikován na podmínky bankovnictví. Součástí diplomové práce je i praktická (neveřejná) část, která aplikuje předchozí model na podmínky kontaktního centra společností GE Money v ČR a SR. Do kontextu modelu je zasazen vývoj kontaktního centra GE Money po vybrané období, začínající před zahájením a končící dokončením několika projektů, které byly během zpracování této práce ve fázi realizace. Tato konfrontace CC GE Money s modelem je pak výchozím bodem pro doporučení dalších kroků v budování a rozvoji tohoto CC.

La artroplastia de resección de la cadera es una técnica de último recurso que sigue teniendo unas indicaciones muy selectivas hoy en día. La práctica de la artroplastia de Girdlestone conduce a un acortamiento de la extremidad, así como a la presencia de cojera. Estos resultados indeseables, son tanto más manifiestos cuanto menos estable es la neoarticulación y ello depende de la cicatriz fibrosa formada. Por este motivo Judet introdujo el término de Coaptación Trocantero Iliaca, con el fin de crear un tejido cicatricial más corto, resistente y estable. En nuestro estudio experimental en el conejo NZ hemos comparado la técnica de Girdlestone con la coaptación trocanteroiliaca (CTI). Hemos valorado desde el punto de vista radiográfico la distancia femoroacetabular, hemos medido la fuerza de rotura de la cicatriz, y finalmente hemos realizado un estudio histológico del tejido cicatricial. Los resultados obtenidos son: la distancia femoraoacetabular es mayor en el grupo Girdlestone. El tejido no lesionado (grupo control, capsula contralateral sana), es mucho más resistente que el tejido cicatricial y la cicatriz de la CTI resulta ser más resistente que la de Girdlestone. En la variable histología la presencia de metaplasia cartilaginosa aporta mayor rigidez y resistencia a la cicatriz.

Depuis les 100 dernières années, la température de la Terre a fortement augmenté en raison des changements climatiques. Par exemple, le sud du Québec a connu des anomalies d’environ +1,2 °C depuis 1970. Or, deux conséquences possibles d’une telle augmentation de température sont (i) le déplacement des distributions géographiques des espèces vers des latitudes ou altitudes plus froides, et (2) une modification des communautés favorisant les espèces adaptées au chaud. À l’été 2012, l’inventaire floristique effectué par Gilles Marcotte et Miroslav Grandtner en 1970 a été reproduit dans le Parc du Mont-Mégantic. Ce site d’étude se distingue par un fort gradient altitudinal et une transition abrupte entre la forêt de feuillus et la forêt boréale, ce qui en fait un site propice à l’étude des questions reliées au climat. Ainsi, 48 parcelles de 0,1 et 0,2 acres (~400 et 800 m2) ont été inventoriées à 42 ans d’intervalle sur l’ensemble du parc. Ce mémoire vise donc à déterminer s’il y a eu des changements dans les communautés végétales du Mont-Mégantic, et si oui, si ces changements vont dans la direction prédite par le réchauffement climatique. Les résultats suggèrent un effet visible du réchauffement climatique puisque les espèces se sont en moyenne déplacées vers le sommet de façon notable, toutes strates confondues (8,5 ± 1,6 m par décennie). De plus, cette augmentation de l’altitude moyenne des espèces est cohérente avec une augmentation des Community Temperature Indices (CTI) et des Community Moisture Indices (CMI) des parcelles (0,2 ± 0,1 °C et -0,13 ± 0,05 unités arbitraires d’humidité, respectivement, en 42 ans), suggérant une représentation légèrement accrue des espèces adaptées au chaud et au sec. Ces résultats sont cohérents avec le réchauffement régional observé, puisque celui-ci peut réduire la disponibilité de l’eau. Par contre, un rôle potentiel du changement de régime de lumière a été mis en évidence, particulièrement pour les herbacées, qui sembleraient affectées par une ouverture accrue de la canopée par rapport à 1970. Finalement, considérant que la variation spatiale des CTI est équivalente au gradiant adiabatique de température (-0,55 °C/100 m d’altitude), nos résultats indiquent que les espèces végétales du Mont-Mégantic subissent probablement un retard les empêchant de se déplacer de manière à suivre l’augmentation de température observée. Les conclusions de ce mémoire soulignent que le réchauffement climatique peut mener à des changements visibles dans les communautés végétales, et ce, même lorsque ces communautés sont relativement bien protégées.

Though more recent Asian American representation in media has been lauded, the majority of portrayals have been considered to be stereotypical misrepresentations. Because negative media representations can have a detrimental impact on people's self-concepts and their views of others, it is important to understand how Asian Americans are representing their own identities online. In order to understand how Asian Americans are negotiating their own ethnic, racial, and national identities online, constant comparative analysis was employed to examine patterns and themes in the visual and textual communication of Asian American Instagram posts. Their cultural identities were communicated as a cultural blending, which included the use of Asian, American/Western, and Asian American cultural values, products, and behaviors. Together, these factors provided insight into the construction and communication of a multilayered identity, mirroring the process of the communication theory of identity. This study indicates that multicultural identity analysis can be applied to visual texts and Instagram can provide more fluid, authentic representations of identity despite its inability to account for internal multicultural identity conflict. Further, not only are values, products, and behaviors components of culture, but they are also facets of identity that can be portrayed visually.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior<br>As espécies do gênero Acinetobacter são freqüentes no ambiente, mas nas últimas décadas vêm se destacando como patógenos hospitalares, especialmente Acinetobacter baumannii e as genoespécies 3 e 13TU, que formam o Complexo A. baumannii e cuja diferenciação só é possível pela utilização de metodologias moleculares. São associadas a diferentes apresentações clínicas, principalmente em pacientes internados em unidades de tratamento intensivo. Freqüentemente apresentam resistência a uma ampla variedade de antimicrobianos, incluindo os carbapenêmicos. Nestes casos as opções de tratamento podem, algumas vezes, limitar-se à polimixina. Esse trabalho objetivou avaliar a susceptibilidade a antimicrobianos, a diversidade genética e a dinâmica de colonização de Acinetobacter spp. isolados de pacientes internados no Centro de Tratamento Intensivo do Hospital Universitário Pedro Ernesto em um ano de estudo. Durante o ano de 2009 foram estudadas 76 amostras de Acinetobacter spp. isoladas de 34 pacientes, sendo a maioria obtida do trato respiratório (42,1 %), seguido de sangue (19,7%). Do total, 96,1% (73) foram identificadas como A. baumannii através da detecção do gene intrínseco blaOXA-51-like. Todas as amostras de A. baumannii foram produtoras da carbapenemase OXA-23 e apresentaram perfil de multirresistência, enquanto as três espécies não-baumannii foram sensíveis a todos os antimicrobianos testados. Não houve produto de amplificação para os genes blaOXA-24-like, blaOXA-58-like e blaOXA-143 pela técnica de PCR multiplex. As amostras apresentaram taxa de resistência maior que 70% para oito dos onze antimicrobianos testados: piperacilina-tazobactam, ceftazidima, cefotaxima, cefepime, amicacina, ciprofloxacina, imipenem e meropenem. A droga com melhor atividade in vitro foi a polimixina B. Quatro amostras foram resistentes com CIM determinada pelo E-test variando de 6 g/mL a 32 g/mL. Observou-se uma grande diversidade genética dentre as amostras, com dez grupos clonais identificados pelo PFGE. O grupo clonal B foi prevalente e persistente na unidade, representado por 32 (42,1%) amostras. Esse foi o mesmo clone descrito como o mais freqüente no Rio de Janeiro em estudo prévio. O clone associado a um surto ocorrido na mesma instituição entre 2007 e 2008 esteve presente em apenas sete (9,2%) amostras, tendo sido substituído pelo genótipo B. A análise prospectiva dos pacientes que permaneceram internados por pelo menos um mês mostrou casos de substituição clonal após terapia antimicrobiana, indicando a existência de reservatório ambiental dos genótipos circulantes. A colonização do trato respiratório por A. baumannii foi bastante comum, mas também foram observados casos de substituição de uma espécie não-baumannii por A. baumannii, além de infecção de corrente sanguínea por um genótipo diferente daquele responsável pela colonização. A presença de cepas resistentes à polimixina é preocupante, pois representa uma ameaça à terapia com a droga. A existência de um clone multirresistente disseminado no Rio de Janeiro, possivelmente pela transferência de pacientes e por profissionais que trabalham em mais de um hospital, aponta a necessidade de se adotar medidas de controle de infecção mais eficazes a fim de reduzir as taxas de morbidade e mortalidade. Além disso, a identificação de focos ambientais de dispersão das cepas epidêmicas parece essencial para garantir a eficácia das demais medidas de contenção de surtos<br>The species of the genus Acinetobacter are common in the environment, but in recent decades have gained prominence as nosocomial pathogens, especially Acinetobacter baumannii and genospecies 3 and 13TU, which form the A. baumannii Complex and whose differentiation is only possible by the use of molecular methodologies. They are associated with different clinical presentations, mainly in patients hospitalized in intensive care units. Often exhibit resistance to a wide range of antimicrobials, including carbapenems. In these cases, treatment options may sometimes be restricted to polymyxin. This study aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial susceptibility, genetic diversity and colonization dynamics of Acinetobacter spp. isolated from patients hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of Hospital Universitário Pedro Ernesto in a year of study. During 2009, 76 strains of Acinetobacter spp. isolated from 34 patients were studied, most of them obtained from the respiratory tract (42.1%), followed by blood (19.7%). Of the total, 96.1% (73) were identified as A. baumannii by detection of the intrinsic gene blaOXA-51-like. All strains of A. baumannii were OXA-23 carbapenemase producers and showed a multiresistant profile, whereas the three non-baumannii species were susceptible to all antimicrobials tested. There were no amplification products for the genes blaOXA-24-like, blaOXA-58-like and blaOXA-143 by multiplex PCR. The islates showed resistance rates greater than 70% for eight of eleven antimicrobials: piperacillin-tazobactam, ceftazidime, cefotaxime, cefepime, amikacin, ciprofloxacin, imipenem and meropenem. The drug with the highest activity in vitro was polymyxin B. Four strains were resistant with MICs determined by E-test ranging from 6 &#61549;g/mL to 32 &#61549;g/mL. A great genetic diversity was observed among the isolates, with ten clonal groups identified by PFGE. The clonal group B was prevalent and persistent in the unit, represented by 32 (42.1%) isolates. This was the same clone described as the most frequent in Rio de Janeiro in a previous study. The clone associated with an outbreak in the same institution between 2007 and 2008 was found in only seven (9.2%) isolates, having been replaced by genotype B. A prospective analysis of patients who were admitted for at least one month showed cases of clonal substitution after antimicrobial therapy, indicating the existence of environmental reservoir of circulating genotypes. Respiratory tract colonization by A. baumannii was quite common, but there were also cases of replacement of a non-baumannii species by A.baumannii, and bloodstream infection by a genotype different from that responsible for colonization. The presence of polymyxin-resistant strains is worrisome as it represents a threat to the therapy with this drug. The existence of a multiresistant clone widespread in Rio de Janeiro, possibly due to the transfer of patients and to sharing of common healthcare staff, points out the need to adopt more effective infection control measures in order to reduce the morbidity and mortality. In addition, the identification of epidemic strains environmental dispersion sources seems essential to ensure the efficiency of other outbreaks contention measures

Nanoparticles are used more and more extensively in today's society, especially in the industry sector. Humans get exposed to nanoparticles daily but the effect is a topic that has not been fully explored yet and its effect on humans is still unknown.The purpose of this project was to investigate whether the size of nanoparticles is a factor that influences their effect on humans, mainly the effect on blood activation. In order to study this, nanopaticles of polystyrene with three different sizes (75, 120 and 260 nm) were selected and incubated in a human whole blood model, the Chandler loop. The samples from the Chandler loop experiments were analysed with three different ELISA's: C3a, terminal complement complex (TCC, sC5b-9) and thrombin-antithrombincomplexes (TAT).The results in this study indicate that the smallest nanoparticle has a higher potential for activating the coagulation system than the larger ones. The complement system did not seem to be significantly activated from the nanoparticles. More experiments needs to be done in order to get a better statistic value but just as it is the results look promising and there is a tendency for a higher activation of the coagulation system with the 75 nm nanoparticles.

While scholars have used Schlossberg's transition theory for more than 35 years to study college-to-work transition, researchers have yet to establish if there are meaningful differences in the perceptions of traditional and nontraditional college students regarding transition preparedness from college-to-work. Following the career transition model, this quantitative study was conducted to compare traditional and nontraditional college students' perceptions of transition preparedness, specifically the concepts of readiness, confidence, control, perceived support, and decision independence. The nontraditional students in this study were military veterans. The dependent variables were measured by the Career Transition Inventory (CTI) survey. Participants were selected via a web-based method until 100 traditional and 100 nontraditional students were surveyed. The data were examined with multivariate analysis of variance and multivariate analysis of covariance. There were significant differences found in perceived transition preparedness. The CTI measure decision independence was significantly lower among nontraditional veteran students. Whereas, the CTI measure confidence was significantly higher among nontraditional nonveteran students. Based on the results of this study, three recommendations were made. If these recommendations are followed, this study can make a positive social change and might increase the probability of improving the career and academic transition services from college-to-work for non-traditional undergraduate veteran students.

Introduction: Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer found in women across the world, with an estimated 2.3 million new cases occurring in 2020. Additionally, over 684,000 deaths annually are attributed to breast cancer across the globe, making it the most common cause of cancer-related death in women. Further, treatment of breast cancer relies heavily on whether or not the cancer cells express estrogen, progesterone, and HER 2 receptors and this expression profile is often related to how quickly the cells grow and spread. In the United States, breast cancer cells that are hormone receptor positive and HER-2 negative make up about 73% of breast cancer cases, and cells that do not express any receptor and are known as triple negative, make up around 12% of cases (American Cancer Society, 2019). With that being said, CT1 and CT3 are novel compounds that have a cytotoxic effect on cell lines representing up to 85% of all breast cancer subtypes in the United States. Methods: The leaves of Chromolaena tacotana that contains the flavonoids CT1 and CT3 were dried and placed in a soxhlet extractor using dichloromethane (CH2Cl2) to extract the chlorophyll. The flavonoids were extracted using a column chromatography eluted with trichloromethane (CHCl3), a 1:1 dilution of CHCl3:methanol and methanol, followed by isolation and purification of the compounds. Human breast cancer cell lines MCF7, MDA-MB-231, and SKBr3 were treated with CT1 and CT3 at concentrations of 5, 10, 20, 40 and 80 µM, followed by incubation for 24 hours. To assess cell viability an MTT assay was conducted by adding a 5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide reagent. The purple-colored formazan crystals were solubilized with acidified isopropanol, then analyzed by spectrophotometry. Results: CT1 appeared to have the most cytotoxic effects compared to CT3 on MCF7. The opposite effect was observed for SKBr3 with CT3 showing the most effects as compared to CT1. No differential effect was observed on MDA-MB-231 since both CT1 and CT3 showed similar inhibition of cell viability. Conclusions: The results from the different breast cancer cell lines SKBr3, MCF7, and MDA-MB-231 vary based on how they responded to CT1 and CT3. CT3 was more effective on SKBr3 than CT1. CT1 was more effective on MCF7 than CT3. For MDA-MB-231, both CT1 and CT3 showed similar significant cytotoxic effects. The antiproliferative effects of CT1 and CT3 appear to be concentration dependent on all cells studied. In view of the results from MDA-MB-231 triple negative breast cancer cell line, the cytotoxic effect of the flavonoids is not dependent on the presence of estrogen, progesterone, or HER2 receptors on breast cancer cells. Further studies on the mechanism of action are necessary to elucidate the molecular targets of CT1 and CT3.

A intenção foi a de entender como as(os) enfermeiras(os) pensam, sentem, elaboram, associam e representam o stress em diferentes contextos de vida profissional e social. Por meio das narrativas e discursos verbais e não verbais dos interlocutores, buscou-se verificar como elas(es) elaboram aquilo que denominam stress, associando-o e definindo-o no seu cotidiano social e cultural.<br>The aim of this study was to apprehend, by means of an ethnographic approach, the social representations of stress in nurses that work at the Intensive Therapy Unit and Surgical Unit in a public hospital of João Pessoa (PB). We intended to understand how nurses think, feel, elaborate, associate and represent stress in different contexts of their professional and social lives. L'utilisation des reseaux telephoniques cellulaires a l'interieur des batiments necessite la caracterisation des conditions de propagation. Ensuite, des etudes doivent etre effectuees pour connaitre l'influence des conditions de propagation sur la qualite d'une liaison numerique sans fil. Les travaux de recherche effectues dans le cadre de cette these presentent deux volets : dans la premiere partie de la these, nous avons realise un sondeur de canal fonctionnant dans le domaine frequentiel. Grace a plusieurs ameliorations de l'acquisition de donnees, l'efficacite du sondeur a ete augmentee. Ensuite nous avons utilise ce sondeur pour effectuer une douzaine de campagnes de mesures dans la bande 800 mhz - 1 ghz ou dans la bande 864 - 868 mhz, propre aux radiotelephones de la norme ct2. Nous caracterisons la dependance pertes de puissance-distance en vue de determiner la zone de couverture. L'analyse regressive permet une analyse dite globale, mais aussi d'autres types d'analyses, plus fines. Un theoreme etablit une relation generale entre ces types d'analyses. Nous etudions aussi les pertes introduites par les murs ou l'influence des mouvements des gens. La transformee de fourier inverse permet le calcul de la reponse impulsionnelle du canal de transmission pour analyser les trajets multiples et pour calculer les temps de retard. Nous effectuons egalement une analyse statistique de l'ecart type des temps de retard, parametre qui limite le debit maximum d'une communication numerique a cause de l'interference inter symbole. Dans la deuxieme partie de la these, on a realise un banc de mesure de t. E. B. Pour une liaison duplex de type pointel. Nous avons effectue l'etalonnage de l'appareillage par liaison cablee et par mesures radio en canal invariant dans le temps. Introdução: Ansiedade, depressão, personalidade Tipo D e terapias de choque do cardioversor-desfibrilador implantável (CDI) são fatores de risco para pior ajuste psicossocial. Além da maior parte dos estudos serem realizados em países desenvolvidos, pouca atenção é dada a estes e outros fatores, assim como à influência na percepção de portadores de CDI quanto à sua cardiopatia de base. Estratégias de enfrentamento, diferença entre percepção do CDI e da doença, assim como percepção dos familiares também têm sido negligenciadas. Os objetivos deste estudo foram descrever o perfil psicossocial de portadores de CDI em nosso meio, avaliar a relação entre os fatores de risco supracitados, percepções do paciente quanto à doença cardíaca e CDI, a relação entre ocorrência e frequência das terapias de choque do CDI e a compreensão e percepção de familiares em relação ao CDI. Método: 250 portadores de CDI foram avaliados (54.10 ±15.15 anos, 67% sexo masculino) quanto à percepção de doença (Questionário Breve de Percepção de Doença [B-IPQ]); ansiedade, depressão, distress (Escala Hospitalar de Ansiedade e Depressão [HADS]); personalidade Tipo D (DS-14); ocorrência e frequência de choques do CDI desde implante e estratégias de enfrentamento. Representações emocionais e compressão de familiares dos pacientes também foram medidas. A análise estatística utilizou os métodos de Mann-Whitney, Wilcoxon e X2. Resultados: Noventa e nove pacientes (39,6%) apresentaram ansiedade, 62 (24.8%) depressão; 85(34%) distress, 84(34%) personalidade Tipo D e 72(29%) perceberam a doença cardíaca como ameaça. Ansiedade, distress, depressão e personalidade Tipo D foram associadas à percepção de cardiopatia como ameaçadora, OR=11 (p= <. 0001); 7.4 (p= <. 0001); 5.3 p= <. 0001); e 2.9 (p= 0.0001), respectivamente. A percepção da doença cardíaca como ameaça também foi influenciada pela presença de choques do CDI desde o implante, com OR= 2.2 (p= 0.007), 2.1 para >=3 choques em 24 horas (p= 0.03) e 2.4 para >= 5 choques desde o implante (p= 0.008). Pacientes ansiosos e Tipo D foram associados a pior percepção de doença, considerando: 1 - fortes crenças sobre consequências mais graves da doença; 2 - não serem capazes de controlar a doença; 3 - atribuem maior número de sintomas à doença; 4 - são mais preocupados e apresentam mais emoções negativas. As percepções de pacientes com distress ou depressivos são mais negativas em todas as subescalas, exceto compreensão. A maioria dos pacientes (68%) utilizou estratégias de enfrentamento focadas na emoção. Vinte e cinco por cento dos pacientes reportaram limitação imposta pela doença, enquanto 75% se sentiram limitados pelo CDI. Pacientes perceberam mais consequências negativas da doença que do CDI. Familiares apresentaram desgaste emocional e baixa compreensão quanto o uso e funcionamento do CDI. Conclusões: Portadores de CDI assistidos em hospital terciário de atenção cardiológica apresentaram: Elevada taxa de ocorrência de ansiedade; depressão, distress, personalidade Tipo D e percepção de doença como ameaça; Limitação das atividades da vida diária como a maior demanda vivenciada; Cardiopatia de base afetando mais a vida que o CDI, mas a maioria considerando o choque do CDI aversivo. This project was aimed at describing the psychosocial profile of Brazilian ICD patients and evaluating the relationship between the aforementioned risk factors and patient perceptions about their heart disease and ICD, the temporal relation between occurrence and frequency of ICD shocks, and the understanding and perception of family members regarding the ICD. Methods: 250 ICD patients were evaluated (54.10 ±15.15 years, 67% male) regarding illness perception (Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire [B-IPQ]); anxiety, depression, distress (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale [HADS]); Type D personality (DS-14); occurrence and frequency of ICD shocks since implantation; and coping. Anxiety, distress, depression, and Type D personality were associated with perceiving heart disease as a health threat with odds ratios of 11 (p= <.0001); 7.4 (p= <.0001); 5.3 (p= <.0001); and 2.9 (p= 0.0001), respectively. Patients\' perceptions of their heart disease as a threat were also influenced by ICD shocks since implantation with odds ratios of 2.1 (p= 0.007), of 2.1 for >=3 shocks in 24 hours (p= 0.045) and of 2.4 for >= 5 shocks since implantation (p= 0.043). Anxious and Type D patients were also associated with poorer illness perceptions regarding: 1 - strong beliefs about more serious consequences of the illness; 2 - not being capable of controlling the disease on their own; 3 - a greater number of symptoms attributed to the illness; 4 - more concerns and negative reactions. Distressed or depressive patients\' perceptions are more negative on every item of the scale except for understanding. The majority of patients (68%) used emotion focused coping mechanisms. Twenty-five percent of the patients reported feeling limited by heart disease, while 75% reported feeling limited by having the ICD in place. Patients perceived more negative consequences with heart disease than with ICD placement. Family members manifested distress about the ICD and misunderstanding regarding its purpose and function. Conclusions: ICD patients treated in a tertiary heart center presented with incresead frequency of anxiety, depression, distress, Type D personality, and perception of their illness as threat. Limitation of activities of daily living was the most common complaint. Heart disease was reported as more debilitating than the ICD itself, but most patients still considered the device\'s shock aversive. Implication: Specific psychosocial interventions are essential for better adjustment of ICD patients and their families after ICD placement

Conforme a complexidade de cada setor, se torna necessário considerar abordagens de projeto que tornariam os resultados desta metodologia mais eficazes e mensuráveis, como é o caso da Saúde. Alguns autores que vêm pesquisando a aplicação neste setor, sugerem uma possível integração do Design baseado em evidências (DBE) e do Design baseado em experiências (DBEx) para viabilizar que um projeto orientado pelo usuário seja implementado em larga escala. Em busca da investigação sobre a lógica de evidências, foi estudada uma ferramenta utilizada no setor de serviços chamada Mecanismo da Função Produção (MFP), que prevê a quantificação das perdas dos processos. O presente estudo teve como contexto o Intensivismo Adulto (CTI) de um hospital privado em Porto Alegre e aplicou um caso em Design de Serviços com a lógica das evidências através da ferramenta MFP, para o desenvolvimento de uma abordagem integrada. Foi utilizado o método de pesquisa-ação com a descrição de todo o processo de projeto e dos resultados obtidos. A partir das análises pode-se constatar que (i) o olhar das evidências contribui para replicações dos resultados do projeto em casos futuros, (ii) o MFP pode ser um argumento para justificar a realização de um projeto em Design e (iii) para a integração das experiências com as evidências no setor hospitalar, pode-se gerenciar o projeto de modo a destinar um tempo maior para o diagnóstico e para a implementação.<br>Service Design consists of a methodology that uses a set of tools to create solutions to improve users perception on services, which can be applied in many fields and contexts. As the complexity of each field, it is necessary to consider approaches that would make results of this methodology more effective and measurable, such as health sector. Some authors have been research application of Service Design in this sector, and suggest a possible integration of evidence-based design (EBD) and experience-based design (ExBD) to enable a user-oriented design on a large scale implementation. In search on the logic of evidence, we studied a tool used in service sector called Mechanism of the Production Function, that provides quantification of loss processes. The present study was context in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Porto Alegre and applied a case of Service Design with the logic of the evidence through MFP tool for the development of an integrated approach. We used the method of action research with the description of the whole design process and results. From the analysis it was found that (i) the look of the evidence contributes to replication of project outcomes in future cases, (ii) MFP is an argument supporting the realization of a Design project and (iii) to integrate experiences with evidence in the hospital sector, we can manage the project in order to devote more time to the diagnosis and implementation.

<p>A carbon dioxide emission calculator for buildings created by the U.S.-based company CTG Energetics, Inc. and based on a Excel file has been converted to a ASP.NET / SQL Server web application. Carbon dioxide emissions are calculated using data given by the user (i.e. floor area, workdays per year) in combination with statistical data used in user-selectable presets (i.e. building type, climate zone, type of water-using fixtures). In most cases a custom value can be inserted instead of using a preset. Emissions attributable both directly and indirectly to the building such as building energy use, domestic water use, landscape/irrigation, transportation, materials used for the building/parking lot and the disposal of solid waste are calculated. The emissions can be compared with a national average and/or emissions from alternate scenarios created for the same building. The web application contains some upgrades and extra functionality that would not have been possible in Excel such as user handling.</p>

The prompt production of &chi<br>c quarkonia is studied in proton-proton collisions at 7 TeV, using data collected by CMS in 2011 corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.6 fb &minus<br>1. The &chi<br>c mesons are reconstructed through their radiative decays to J/&psi<br>and photon with J/&psi<br>&rarr<br>&mu<br>+&mu<br>&minus<br>. The photons are reconstructed through their conversion in electron-positron pairs in the tracking detector which gives a mass resolution sufficient for resolving these states. The ratio of the prompt production cross sections for the &chi<br>c1 and &chi<br>c2 states, &sigma<br>(&chi<br>c2)/&sigma<br>(&chi<br>c1), has been determined as a function of the J/&psi<br>transverse momentum between 7 and 25 GeV/c.

The lower Da-An River in western Taiwan was uplifted ~10 during the 1999 Mw 7.6 Chi-Chi earthquake, resulting in a 20- to 30-m-deep bedrock gorge. However, the amount of coseismic displacement along the channel bed does not fully explain the resulting bedrock channel incision. Using a series of aerial photographs, digital terrain models (DEM), and real-time kinematic global positioning system (RTK GPS) surveys, we characterized knickpoint retreat and fluvial incision in the Da-An River gorge. We also analyzed discharge and precipitation data and collected measurements of rock strength and joint plane orientations to understand the climatic, lithological, and structural influence on the evolution of the actively incising gorge. Two stages of fluvial incision and knickpoint migration are identified in the gorge following surface uplift during the Chi-Chi earthquake. From 1999 to 2004, 3 to 5 m of alluvium was removed from the channel bed, followed by 3 to 4 m of bedrock channel incision. The knickpoint generated immediately after the earthquake stayed where the uplift occurred at this time. Since 2005, the channel bed has lowered rapidly with local incision rate as high as 15 m/yr in terms of knickpoint migration. The average knickpoint migration rate over the period 2005 to 2009 was 238 m/yr; total upstream migration from the location of knickpoint formation was 1190 m. While tectonic uplift formed the knickpoint and set the stage for channel incision, climate played a critical role in accelerating the fluvial response to coseismic displacement. More than 20 m of bedrock channel incision and 1180 m knickpoint migration occurred during the post-2004 typhoon seasons (May-October). Based on repeat surveys of the Da-An River longitudinal profile and analysis of precipitation and discharge data, we suggest that a discharge threshold of 1200 to 2600 m³/s is required to initiate upstream knickpoint migration. However, once the threshold is exceeded, bedding dip becomes the primary control on rates and patterns of knickpoint propagation. Rotation occurred in a hinge zone where the bedding dips change from horizontal to upstream-dipping, while replacement was observed in the strata dipping upstream. The highest knickpoint migration rates (> 300 m/yr) were recorded in flat-lying, horizontal strata (< 10º) where parallel retreat was the dominate process. Overall, the knickpoint propagation followed the process of replacement behavior, in which the height of knickpoint decreases while migrating upstream. Thus, while tectonic processes set the initial conditions for knickpoint propagation in the Da-An River, the response time of the fluvial system to this forcing is strongly dependent on climate and local structure.

Key words novella, honour, Baroque, woman, society Abstract The main subject of this thesis is the theme of honour. Unlike my previous study, The theme of honour in the Spanish theatre of the XVI and XVII centuries, this work focuses on the literary genre of the novella and it will be interested in honour of women. Woman's honour is one of the great themes, which played a part of literary output of every author at that time. The work will be based on particular literary works, as well as historical context. Because of this, the first part gives literary-theoretical and socio-historical context. This section has as its purpose to introduce the theory of the Spanish Renaissance and Baroque novella, as well as the social status of women in the society of the 17th century. The second part treats the honour of women in the literary context, and relies on selected texts of various significant authors. How the second part will show us, in spite of relative dogmatism and conservatism of Baroque society, every author in his texts offers a different vision and especially different solutions. The main objective of this thesis is capture and describe the multiplicity of attitudes to the universal theme of honour.

At the same time, some CTI related applications are provided. Obviously, Call Center attracts lots of light. Using CTI technology to build Call Center not only reduces development cost but provides more useful functions. Moreover, efficient dialing scheme can improve utilization of Call Center. In this thesis, we first introduce the track of CTI technology, and express it’s basic concept and applied fields. Secondly, we discuss how to use CTI technology to build a sophisticated Call Center. After that, we describe how to use SCSA(System Computing System Architecture) to design Call Center system. In addition, for a Call Center with Outbound and Inbound functions, we design a Predictive Blending Dialing Scheme, using statistic analysis of various system resources, to predict ongoing system status so that we can dynamically have appropriate response of this Blending Dialer System.

Consequently, customer service strategy and its execution are essential for long-term corporate results. And without doubt, the success or failure of a company’s customer service depends on the quality of its service personnel. As Wilhelm and Rossello pointed out in their study in business practice in 1997, the organizations that were renowned for their customer service had many features in common. For example, they were all very good at using line personnel to interact and communicate with customers, and as a result they were able to gather information on customers, updating their profiles regularly, and managing the data by making use of the best technology available. Technology and humanity go hand in hand in these cases, creating value for the companies involved. However, customer-facing employees usually have to endure a stressful working environment, as they interact with customers and take in information real time, and sometimes they become inefficient because of bad moods or fatigue. As a consequence, it is important to find ways to allow customer service personnel to engage customers in an amiable and dedicated way, and to communicate with them with clarity. As Schneiderman pointed out, people have come to realize the value of good interfaces, and resources have been directed to the research and development of applicable interfaces. In light of this, my study focuses on the operating platform interfaces of out-bound computer telephone integrated (CTI) call centers, aiming to analyze and construct customer service operating platform interfaces that are the most applicable and user-friendly. Taking the Nunamaker system as a reference point, I have successfully developed a model system of CTI out-bound call center. A subsequent review on the applicability and user satisfaction of the model system reveals that: (1)Well-integrated and digitalized call centers are very helpful in guaranteeing users’ satisfaction. (2)Applicable and well-constructed interface screen designs will facilitate the operation of workplaces.

For adopter factors, most factors shows significance relationships, except organizational culture. Besides, centralization factor appears opposite direction against hypothesis. 2. For industrial environment factors, market competition factor and envi-ronmental change race factor show identical significance relationships against adoption time. 3. For supplier factors, their service quality factor and reputation factor also show identical significance relationships against adoption time.4. For characteristics of the CTI call center system. 5. Adoption factors has identical relationships with adoption time. Except the length of constructional time, other factors has significance relation-ships with adoption time. 6. Choosing comparation of Kaohsiung mayor election campaign, which has the highest discussion in 2018. Using election news coverage with ideology and political bias. Before the year 2020, the election results of 2018 Kaohsiung Mayoral Election can predict presidential election. This study uses "CTI" and "FTV" as research texts, select Meinong campaign rally of HAN GUO-YU and Qishan campaign rally of CHEN CHI-MAI. On the other hand, the hustings and debates are taken as research subjects. Textual analysis is used as research method to conclude news texts, included news structures, text narratives, quotations and so on. The results of the study were that media ideology determines the news frame and news presentation. In political bias, "CTI" political spectrum tend to KMT, while "FTV" tend to DPP. HAN GUO-YU had high opinion polls before the election and deviation in reporting make CTI as defender media, FTV as attacker media. In the news frame, they all prefer to use the "conflict frame" to create political opposition. Defender media use " human interest frame " to condense voter identity. Attacker media use "responsibility frame" to castigate and attack opponents. Defender media use the frame more evenly, while attacker media focus more on "conflict frame", "economic consequences frame" and "responsibility frame". The neutrality and objectivity of the media in TV news may need to be discussed with the times.
