Due to the unpredictable nature of renewable sources such as sun and wind, the integration of such sources to a grid is complicated. However, a hybrid renewable energy system (HRES) can solve this problem. Constructing a reliable HRES in remote areas is essential. Therefore, this paper proposes a new methodology incorporating a crow search algorithm (CSA) for optimizing the scale of an HRES installed in a remote area. The constructed system comprises photovoltaic (PV) panels, wind turbines (WTs), batteries, and diesel generators (DGs). The target is to achieve the most economical and efficient use of renewable energy sources (RESs). The CSA is used as it is simple in implementation, it only requires a few parameters, and it has a high flexibility. The designed system is constructed to serve an electrical load installed in the northeastern region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The load data are provided by the Saudi Electricity Company, including those of the Aljouf region (Sakaka, Alqurayyat, Tabarjal, Dumat Aljandal, and its villages) and the northern border region (Arar, Tarif, Rafha, and its affiliated villages). The temperature, irradiance, and wind speed of the Aljouf region (latitude 29.764 ° and longitude 40.01 °) are collected from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) from 1 Jan. 2020 to 31 Dec. 2020. Three design factors are considered: the PV number, the WT number, and the number of days of battery autonomy (AD). We compared our results to the reported approaches of an elephant herding optimizer (EHO), a grasshopper optimization algorithm (GOA), a Harris hawks optimizer (HHO), a seagull optimization algorithm (SOA), and a spotted hyena optimizer (SHO). Moreover, the loss of power supply probability (LPSP) is calculated to assess the constructed system’s reliability. The proposed COA succeeded in achieving the best fitness values of 0.03883 USD/kWh, 0.03863 USD/kWh, and 0.04585 USD/kWh for PV/WT/battery, PV/battery, and WT/battery systems, respectively. The obtained results confirmed the superiority of the proposed approach in providing the best configuration of an HRES compared to the others.

Development of efficient algorithms for designing future operations is a vital element in construction business. This paper studies various aspects of a methodology required to determine the integration index for construction crews performing various process-related jobs. The main objective of the study outlined in this paper is to define the notion of integration in respect to a construction crew that performs complete cycles of construction and assembly works in order to find the optimal organizational solutions, using the integrated crew algorithm built specifically for that purpose. As seen in the sequence of algorithm elements, it was designed to focus on the key factors affecting the level of integration of a construction crew depending on the value of each of those elements. The multifactor modelling approach is used to assess the KPI of integrated construction crews involved in large-sale high-rise construction projects. The purpose of this study is to develop a theoretical recommendation and a scientific methodological provision of organizational and technological nature to ensure qualitative formation of integrated construction crews to increase their productivity during integrated implementation of multi-task construction phases. The key difference of the proposed solution from the already existing ones is that it requires identification of the degree of impact of each factor, including the change in the qualification level, on the integration index of each separate element in the organizational and technological system in construction (integrated construction crew).

The development strategy of catering industry enterprises has become a problem that deserves attention. As a successful model in the catering industry, Haidilao Company enjoys a high reputation among the crowd, but it also faces some development difficulties. This paper takes Haidilao Co., Ltd. as the research object, firstly introduces Haidilao's company profile and current development strategy, and analyzes the enterprise's strategic management method using Porter's Five Forces model and SWOT analysis method. Finally, according to the analysis of the content of this paper puts forward to promote product innovation, strengthen the diversification of development, strengthen the quality management and strengthen the construction of corporate culture and talent training and other recommendations, hoping to provide a certain reference for the Haidilao or catering industry practitioners.

Abstract This study explores the aims of the Nobel Banquet broadcast, produced by the Swedish public service company SVT and the Nobel Foundation. The study suggests that the programme can be viewed as a co-construction of science and media, and that the Nobel Foundation has three primary purposes: 1) to teach the audience about science; 2) to honour the laureates; and 3) to maintain and increase the status of the Nobel prize. SVT, for their part, has two main purposes: 1) to teach their audience about science, and 2) to entertain. The aims of the Nobel Foundation and SVT may seem disparate, but they are interrelated. At the same time, the subtleties between the entities create a tension that develops through mutual negotiations. The study ends with a discussion of two unexpected findings: 1) the shared, yet essentially differently-grounded aims of both parties to inform about science, and 2) the fact that their scientific content has increased in both absolute and relative terms over the years, a finding that questions notions of a continuous mediatisation of social institutions.

The intrinsic attributes and service functions of community gardens (CGs) are closely related to the stage of national development and social needs. With the gradual implementation of China’s urban micro-renewal policy, many CGs have been gradually developed, but they still face problems such as poor operation and low participation, which urgently require us to carry out site-based research under China’s actual national conditions. Constructing a human’s perception value-oriented evaluation system and summarizing the optimization strategies according to the evaluation results can provide more systematic and targeted practical guidance for the construction of CGs in China. We developed a set of evaluation metrics for CGs based network text analysis, literature analysis, and expert opinions and collected 245 questionnaires from 20 existing CGs in Wuhan as a study sample. Using the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) method, we conducted statistical analysis of data for each type of CG. The results show that “Mosquito impact”, “Facility maintenance”, and “Social experience” are essential parts of residential-type community gardens (Resi-CGs) that are easily overlooked; that the users of commercial-type community gardens (Comm-CGs) consider that “Mosquito impact” is a serious deficiency; that campus-type community gardens (Camp-CGs) need to be optimized with regard to the aspects of “Crop stewardship” and “Leisure facilities”; and finally that there is no significant trend in the key improvement indicators of company-type community gardens (Comp-CGs) and the indicators like “Fitness and recreation experience”, “Crop diversity”, and “Aesthetics” need to be improved. According to the above results, we put forward specific optimization strategies to provide development guidelines and practical guidance for the future construction of CGs.

Soon after her hire, the president of the company began a pattern of sexually targeting Fiona. She went to great lengths to avoid her boss, but the harassment and assaults continued. After one incident, Fiona reported the abuse to the company VP who offered her a financial settlement in exchange for her silence. Fiona thought speaking out would put an end to the strain the abuse had caused, but other dilemmas had just begun. The case allows students to examine the competing interests Fiona faces in deciding whether to accept a financial settlement from her employer, that would greatly help her family, but at the cost of signing a non-disclosure agreement.

Since the beginning of the 21st century, there has been an increase in the share of small enterprises in the grain industry, the number of which is increasing even today. At most of such enterprises, it is impossible to apply the existing longterm full grain processing technologies, there is a reduction in the number of basic technological operations, often not sufficiently substantiated, which affects the quality of the end products, which do not always meet all the basic norms of the regulations applicable to end products. Considering the modern technological solutions offered by leading manufacturers for the production of flaked products and quick-cooking products, it is possible to note the equipment of the Buhler company, which allows to monitor production control and, accordingly, achieve greater production efficiency. To date, the Buhler company offers the batch steamer MBDA for the steaming stage, which is recommended to be combined with the BCFB flaking machine. This technological equipment in combination gives high quality and reliability of the equipment itself, allows to implement energy-saving technologies at enterprises and obtain controlled production of quality products. Today, in addition to traditional grain, such crops as lentils, chickpeas, beans, wheat-spelt, spelt, naked varieties of oats and barley are processed in part or in small batches at the enterprises of the industry. Lentil is a promising leguminous crop for the grain industry. In the world, it is widely grown as a food and fodder crop. Among leguminous crops, lentils occupy an intermediate place in terms of protein content, with a protein content of 25-36%, while the share of carbohydrates is 45-55%, fat - 3-4%. The first variety of «Linza» edible lentils was registered in 2005. After that, the following varieties were registered only in 2017-2018: «Antonina» (2017), «Darinka» (2017), «YeSMaksymum» (2017), «Blondie» (2018), «Harry» (2018), «SNIM 18» (2018), Chrysolite (2018), which indicates an understanding of the potential of this culture both for the domestic market and for increasing the export potential of our country. The last to enter the register were «Serpanok» (2020) and «RED» (2021) varieties, which indicates the continued work of breeders to expand the varietal base of this crop in Ukraine.

The contribution made by the crew is very important for the welfare of the company and the performance on board. But their well-being has not been paid enough attention in the maritime world. Heavy workloads and working hours and lack of implementation of rest hours trigger human error and are prone to fatigue. The implementation of the Maritime Labor Convention 2006 has contributed significantly to the improvement of the working conditions of the crew. The purpose of this study is to determine the right criteria and strategic solutions in helping to improve the application of rest hours to crew members. Criteria and strategy solutions were obtained through the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Expert Choice methods are used as supporting software for calculations. The stages of observation, interviews, dissemination of questionnaires, modeling and choice are processes carried out in data processing. Rest time criterias with a weight value of 0.534 and an inconsistency value of 0.004466 was the main criteria chosen by the respondents. Meanwhile, Sleep Duration is a strategy solution chosen as the top priority with the weight value of 0.220 with an inconsistency value of 0. The results of the two inconsistencies each have a CR value of < 0.1 indicating that the results of rest hour application data processing based on the 2006 Maritime Labor Convention can be declared consistent and accurate.

He started experimenting with orange oil and worked with Stellenbosch University to test it and after confirming that it had both fungicidal and insecticidal properties, which was unusual and therefore uniquely patentable, the company was started and its first product PREVAM was born. Another office was opened in the USA and then Europe, and it is now present in over 85 countries, with a physical presence in over 40. It has factories in the EU, US, Brazil and South Africa and supply globally. Four years ago the company was sold to a South African company Omnia Holdings who then sold it Rovensa Group, who are the current owners with one of the largest footprints in the biosolutions market, seeing the purchase of Oro Agri as an opportunity to broaden their portfolio and international footprint. With a vision of offering differentiated biocontrol solutions not only to the organic market, but especially to facilitate biological synergies with traditional crop protection products targeting more sustainable solutions, the OroBio-Pheno Science and Innovation Center, complete with indoor and outdoor phenotype system, is currently under construction and will provide development services to all the Oro Agri and ROVENSA group companies.

American unions and companies did not reach a grand accord after World War II, as many historians claimed in the 1960s and 1970s, nor did corporations continuously maneuver to undermine unions after the war ended, as labor historians began arguing in the 1990s. Relations were more complex than that. Compromises were reached at thousands of firms, mediated by the former staff of the National War Labor Board, whom companies and unions hired as their principals arbitrators. This chapters offers three illustrations: Harry Shulman at the Ford Motor Company, John T. Dunlop in the construction industry, and Sylvester Garrett in the steel industry. The compromises depended on slowly rising inflation in wages and prices, a factor that only a few of the intermediaries acknowledged.

Typical traditional software development models are initially designed for company-style software project teams. They also assume a typical software project that has somewhat clear goals, scope, budget, and plan. Even Agile development models that are very flexible in considering previous project parameters assume somewhat stable team and project structures. However, in recent years, the authors have noticed expansion in software projects that are developed in a very illusive flexible team, scope, budget, and plan structures. Examples of such projects are those projects offered in open competition (also called crowd sourcing) structure for software developers to be part of. In typical open competition projects, initial, high level project ideas are submitted to the public through the Internet. The project initiators give their initial requirements, constraints, and conditions for successful products or submissions. Teams can be organized before or through the competition. Submission and evaluation of deliverables from teams are subjected to project initiator evaluation along with evaluation teams organized through the open competition host. This chapter investigates all traditional project characteristics. The authors elaborate on all those elements that should be modified to fit the open competition agile structure. They use several case studies to demonstrate management issues related to managing software projects in open competitions.

The invoice contained a standard limitation clause stating that the only liability of the appellants was replacement of the seeds or a refund of the cost of the seeds. All other liability was excluded. The respondent’s crop failed. The wrong seed and seed of an inferior quality had been delivered due to the negligence of the appellant’s sister company. ARGUMENT The respondents argued that the limitation clause did not apply: (1) at common law, because the wrong seed was delivered and it was not of merchantable quality; (2) under statutory provisions, because the clause was not fair and reasonable under s 55 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979; the limitation clause in the contract was unenforceable at law according to s 55(4). PROCEDURAL HISTORY Trial Parker J: The limitation clause was not operative at common law because of the negligence in delivering the wrong seed. Court of Appeal On appeal by Finney Lock Seeds: Denning, Kerr, Oliver LJJ. Kerr and Oliver LJJ held the limitation clause could not be relied upon because: (1) on its true construction the condition did not apply at common law because loss due to the negligence of sister company and the seed was wholly different than delivery of the wrong seed (Kerr and Oliver LJJ); (2) also, applying s 55 it would not be fair and reasonable (Note: comment by drafter of case note: Having said the clause did not apply at common law to negligence there was of course no relevance in dealing with the statutory issue which is only operative if the clause is deemed to apply at common law!); (3) Denning LJ held, in the minority, that the limitation clause could apply at common law. Rubber tracked running gears are widely used in high-mobility Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) to increase obstacle negotiation possibility in urban and rural terrain. The paper proposes a method of assessing the configuration of the light UGV`s tracked running gear in terms of the ability to overcome terrain obstacles. Five types of obstacles have been proposed: a road ditch, a lying log, a curb, a crop rows and a wavy meadow profile. Then designed four types of running gear with the same geometrical and mass parameters, differing in the way of applying the running wheels (rigid construction, consisted of sprocket, idler and four road wheels, two bogies solution, system with two bogies elastically mounted to frame and rocker-bogie construction). To compare the selected solutions, simulation in the multi-body environment program and the equations based on the Bekker theory was performed. The simulation results showed an improvement in the driving properties with the use of elastically suspended elements. Better copying of the shape of the obstacle by the running gear contributes to the required tractive effort at lower slip values. At the same time, the negative impact of elastically suspended elements on the platform's stability was indicated.

Abstract The adoption of imaging technologies to create 2D and 3D models is becoming more and more common in the management of critical infrastructure. In most cases of submerged infrastructure, remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) are the only way to easily capture reliable data for modeling. Underwater asset surveys previous to ROVs relied on commercial dive teams using handheld equipment. This methodology is primarily limited to commercial diving safety regulations related to maximum depths, working in confined entry, and time limitations from oxygen levels. Alternatively, autonomous unmanned vehicles (AUVs), unmanned surface vessels (USVs), or a standard ships equipped with imaging technologies could be utilized, however, details are limited at depths or confined spaces. The use of different imaging sensors on ROVs such as stereo cameras, sonars, and laser scanners allow operators to capture data to build detailed structural models in both 2D or 3D with unparalleled accuracy. Recent field results have confirmed the validity of the application of these technologies for real-world use. The variety offered by the three different practices, and modular simplicity of integration allows for these modeling techniques to be be widely interchangeable between use-cases. Using a mounted dual-frequency imaging sonar, ROV operators were recently able to complete an entire 2D model of a submerged tunnel measuring 60 metres in length, with widths raging from 0.7 - 1.0 metres. A battery powered ROV was remotely deployed from a small topside vessel, and performed multiple runs of the submerged tunnel within a three day period to examine this otherwise impossible enter tunnel for a pre-construction assessment. Similarly, an offshore survey company based in Newfoundland was able to generate a 2D model of a Floating Production, Offloading, and Storage (FPSO) Vessel’s prop using an ROV-mounted laser scanner to verify the necessary blade clearances within millimetres. The most detailed model was generated in 2022 by a southern Ontario archaeology team within a civil engineering company. The crew used two different ROVs to repeatedly capture high resolution photos every two seconds as they ran multiple passes over a historical dam structure. After running their collected images through the modeling program Agisoft Metashape, the crew successfully generated an extremely accurate 3D model of the submerged structure from just one day’s worth of imagery.

Abstract Well construction process can be presented as a set of the routine and repetitive actions which should be repeated at the planning, execution and evaluation stages. The manuscript describes how in the effort with major operating company the well planning stage was converted to a complete digital path; and how the digitalization of the planning was further transferred to the automated execution. Planning a well normally done with different computer software, where the data gathered from different engineering software should be input, as well as required drilling fluid, cementing and directional job plans and limits etc., followed by the written operational sequence. In the reviewed case all the planning was shifted to the cloud environment, including all simulations and reviews, where no "merge" of the data was required. All the required simulations are performed automatically, flagging those with the results out of the limit. The operational steps were detailed, and further connected to the rig Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) system, where multiple operations started to be performed in automatic mode, without any intervention from the rig crew (like survey, drilling parameters automatically adjusted to the sock and vibration, stick and slip, seeking for the best rate of penetration, driller's tasks while drilling, backreaming of stand etc.). The implementation of the digital planning allowed to align all stockholders involved during design stage, minimize human mistakes, and significantly decrease the planning time. The noticeable side effect is absence of any physical paper and as well as higher transparency during preparation. At the execution stage at the begging of the implementation the main benefit came from the standardization of the practices at the rig, what lead to absence of discrepancies. It further resulted in delivery of the all the wells under the same time with very minimum difference. And the final positive result came from the absence of any major service quality event (like stuck pipe) during automated operations. As of now the different levels of digitalization are implemented in 16 rigs, with further current expansion. The manuscript provides the novel information on the digitalization and automation of the well construction process. The explained methodology can be implemented at any project worldwide.

Abstract The strategic location of the Haynesville unconventional dry-gas shale, near some of the world largest petrochemical complexes, export facilities, and in proximity with the Gulf of Mexico makes it one of the most revenue attractive plays in the USA. However, with wellhead pressures in excess of 9,000 psi and bottom hole temperatures reaching 380°F, this deep shale is classified as a challenging dry-gas high pressure-high temperature basin. The conservative and conventional approach of using extremely high mud density to deal with pressure uncertainties and possible dry gas entering the annulus while drilling, making connections, or tripping combined with the high temperature detrimental effect over the drilling fluid properties, have made the operators incur time consuming activities during the well construction process in this area. After 4 years and 2 million feet of long reach horizontal production hole sections successfully drilled with MPD in this HPHT Texas-Louisiana shared unconventional gas play, our experiences after strategically developing and utilizing a state of the art precise, fast, and reliable-low maintenance electric set point choke in combination with reduced equipment footprint and crew on a setup to comply with easy mobilization for the rig to fit on the cost-efficiencies improvement plans from operators and rig contractors in the area are described on this document.

Abstract During drilling operations, one of the key parameters keenly monitored and measured is the Non-Productive Time (NPT). It is usually desired to be kept as minimal as possible due to its significant contribution to the entire well construction cost. In some instances, some of the factors responsible cannot be controlled such as bad weather conditions or occurrence of natural disasters. However, industry experience shows that a significant chunk of most NPT recorded can be avoided and mitigated with adequate planning, monitoring and prompt decision-making. In order to ensure sustainable oil production amidst the present economic situation of fluctuating crude oil prices occasioned by the imminent energy transition and other related factors, the costs associated with development and production of hydrocarbon assets will require prudent management by eliminating or reducing NPTs. This paper aims to illustrate some of the best in-class operational procedures and actions undertaken by the drilling operations team of a producing company for significant reduction of NPT spanning across seven (7) wells in two (2) of its producing fields. Information from structured daily operations reports were extracted and analyzed with significant focus on the time sheets and contributing factors to Non-Productive Time. Further attempts were made to identify the major contributors and the most efficient processes to eliminate their occurrences. The analysis shows an average of about thirteen percent from the first well drilled in 2018 to the most recent one drilled in 2021. This translates to about USD5.4 million in NPT cost equivalent over the span of the seven (7) wells. The prevalent drilling operational challenges were found to be related to host community issues, location preparation, statutory regulatory compliance issues, logistics, weather conditions, crew competency, well-bore instability, and most prevalently rig equipment failures etc. The data analysis showed a consistent decrease in NPTs for these factors, primarily due to deliberate and concise project planning and execution. The results from these analyses can therefore be used as a framework to improve current drilling practices, in order to achieve significant well construction cost savings and further support the need for sustainable oil production. However, it is important to ensure quality data gathering and structure by insisting on identifying and recording all the NPT-related issues. This will allow prompt forecasting of drilling operational challenges as well as proactively taking concrete steps to mitigating them.

Abstract High reliability, high potential risk industries, such as aviation, have recognised through root cause investigations that most accidents are the result of human errors. The O&G industry is no different and drilling is particularly reliant on human actions and interactions. In August 2020, the organisations mentioned above deployed a fully immersive On-The-Rig (OTR) Simulator for the execution of a Drilling-Well-On-Simulator (DWOS) project on the semi-submersible Maersk Developer to prepare the crew to drill the 1st Petronas Deepwater exploration well (name redacted to Well X) offshore Suriname. The offset well data showed a high-risk probability of Well control and stuck pipe in addition to other risks that required to be actively managed. The business partners created a high-fidelity / fully immersive DWOS by programming and conducting rig and well specific simulations. A combination of leading simulator technology with advanced human factors and technical coaching accelerated crew competence. The overall impact of the DWOS was significant both in terms of learning and operational impact: The well was best-in-class in cost – (Cost Per Foot) and best-in-class in Schedule – (Days Per Thousand Foot). There was NO stuck pipe or well control issues. The operator has now recommended DWOS for all future complex wells, under a pre-defined criteria. Initiatives or enterprises are only successful if there is full support and coordinated collaboration between the requisite parties. Three groups collaborated closely on the delivery of this coaching and training project, namely: the operator, the hardware and software provider and a specialist coaching and training company, utilising an OTR drilling simulator. It had already been identified that there had been significant challenges on offset wells and that several substantial lost time events had occurred. The coaching and training modules would therefore need to be created to prepare the crews in threat and error management of the anticipated hazards and those well construction tasks that had historically been troublesome, in this area. Well X was the operator's first deepwater venture offshore Suriname, (Block 52), in ‘mid-water’ at 520 meters. Block 52 is located north of the coast of Paramaribo, Suriname's capital city and is situated in the prospective Suriname-Guyana basin where several major hydrocarbon discoveries have been made recently. Block 52 covers an area of 4,749 km² with water depths ranging from 50 to 1,100 meters. Well X was planned as a five-string design with a contingency Liner. The objective of the project was to explore, test and evaluate the potential of hydrocarbons and to obtain sufficient geological and geophysical data for future exploration in the basin of offshore Suriname. On completion of the drilling and data acquisition the well was to be abandoned. The dual activity semi-submersible, Maersk Developer, was chosen to drill and abandon the well. The Developer had completed a campaign in March and vast majority of the crew were new to the rig but were working on other D Rig designed rigs in the Maersk fleet.

Abstract Objectives/Scope An expansion multi-billion dollar LNG plant EPC project has successfully adopted end to end digital project delivery overcoming numerous challenges. The complete Engineering, Procurement and Construction works, is scheduled to be commissioned by 2025. An extension of the existing liquefaction complex comprising of six complete trains and associated facilities, meant to increase the national LNG production by 35%. The complexity of multiple inter-continental entities, systems and cultural divisions between Engineering, Procurement (in Europe) and Construction driven from Far-east had been significant and further compounded by Covid. To align all parties early using the Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) method and digitally mapping the systems and enormous data generated from each department (working in silos), were the main challenges in taking the job further from FEED in to Detail Engineering and Site Execution. The entities involved had adopted the AWP method first time for project delivery. Methods, Procedures, Process Based on the Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and Workface Planning (WFP) philosophy, the whole project have been managed through a highly effective building sequence based digital detailed work packages for Engineering, Preconstruction planning and Onsite installation (EWPs, CWPs and IWPs respectively). The digital collaboration between departments and teams located in multiple countries, made all that possible and has been the key to success. The JV engaged subject matter experts in AWP, and also implemented an end to end digital project delivery platform. The platform was implemented as a non-disruptive overlay to over 15 different pre-existing software and tools. Their interaction into a single digital platform has been extremely important to connect and manage the various stage of the process. All the information from Engineering, Procurement and Construction flow in one unique database and interact each other. That allows all stakeholders, including the Owner, to manage and have the full visibility of all EPC phases. A huge amount of data and information centralized, digitalized and made available to all stakeholders. The flexibility in the customization of the various modules and dashboards of the system, has been imperative due to the different setups and approach to Construction from JV's companies and that's the biggest vantage to manage properly all phases of the project. Results, Observations, Conclusions According to various analysis performed on the project schedule, the Engineering phase got a 10% reduction of manhours investment against a contemporary AWP implementation, because of taking a digital approach. The project has started to experience a schedule compression consequently in Construction activities, that have started earlier than planned. By utilizing the automatic breakdown of CWPs into IWPs, considering the crew size and their rates, has led to a significant reduction in manhours spent for the WFP activities at site and in terms of number of personnel required. The early preparation has started to reduce the uncertainties faced in the field. Construction progress details are made visible through the system and utilising some of the 3D functions, and also get a graphical representation on a colour coded 4D report. The selective account permissions, makes relevant data available to any stakeholder in an easy to use and simple manner, depending on the department and company. One can view and work only on the required portion of the total scope, reducing the time of chasing information when dealing with huge amount of data. Furthermore, it provided a great advantage to allow setting up the contractual requirements based on the visibility of information to the project leadership of each company involved. Novel/Additive Information Conventionally, AWP implementation is resource intensive and time consuming for any new entity. Directly implementing this in mega project with companies in a JV situation is even more challenging. Taking a digital first approach and adopting a strong framework enabled by cloud based technology has been a great advantage for all departments and stakeholders involved. The project has avoided lost time in chasing information and people, decreased the risk of common mistakes in data retrieval and have increased their productivity. The advanced planning and the interaction with the project schedule, the deliverables and the materials availability in real time has been done smoothly. Furthermore, the Machine learning based material visibility, management of various warehouses have helped implement a smooth material pull for the project. The GIS based scope management along with the various 3D functions, are being used along with machine learning to drive continuous improvement for the success of the LNG project.

Abstract In the last 2 (two) years, the operator has been performing gravel pack (GP) completion using a Hydraulic Workover Unit (HWU). Such rigless GP explains that a drilling rig shall drill a well, running the casing and cementing then suspending the well. Next, HWU will perform the completion job to fulfill the scope of the well construction. By May 2021, HWU has done 4 (four) rigless GP with various well designs. The original background is to reduce costs of the well construction and to increase the wells delivery efficiency of a jack-up rig. This paper will compare the duration of rigless GP execution in those wells, even though the value creation of using HWU as an alternative way will also be reviewed. Regarding operational capabilities, HWU has several limitations that differ from a jack-up rig. Several disadvantages range from HWU's construction, tripping performance, lifting practices until contract management. From a construction aspect, HWU is more sensitive to weather thus prone to the operation suspension. In some platforms, HWU has more complexity lifting operations due to the crane's reach limitation, therefore an additional crane is needed to assist. Furthermore, HWU utilizes traveling slips for tripping, as such the length of the cylinder will affect the speed. Moreover, HWU is not in a favorable situation due to some important services are not dedicated to support the operation. For example, the handling equipment for upper completion is managed through a call-out contract and the logistic vessel has to be shared with other fleets. Therefore, it is essential to develop a solid course of action to achieve the objective of utilizing HWU in GP jobs. Related to performance enhancement, some initiatives have been pursued i.e. changing the position of the barge to reduce weather sensitivity, developing the effective logistic plan, and managing some activities to be performed by the jack-up rig (in offline mode). Moreover, adding some pipe racks and enforcing all crew to improve tripping speed safely are also part of the improvement. Also, it is essential to select the equipment as necessary as possible to deal with the call-out contract and to increase the economic value of the project. Finally, performance monitoring and documenting lesson learned are critical to pursue for future improvement. All of those efforts have been paid off as indicated by the learning curve which has been shaped. Referring to the duration and expenses of the first rig-less GP job, the latest well has attained a reduction in costs by 60% and less 66% of time completion. The fact implies that HWU is worth pursuing in executing GP completions as an alternative to the conventional way.

Basic Technical Details: Displacement: 5000 tonnes; Width: 23.2m; Height: 6.6m; Length: 65m; Draught: 3.5m; Processing Throughput: 7000m3/year. In October 1993, the Governments of Japan and the Russian Federation signed an Intergovernmental Agreement to reduce the threat of nuclear weapons in the Former Soviet Union. Towards achieving this goal, the Japanese Government had initially allotted $100 million towards, which was increased to $200 million in 1999. The main objective of the Suzuran project is to process low-level liquid radioactive waste, which has been in storage for some years, and prevent it from being dumped into the seas shared by Japan and Russia. The construction and completion of the Suzuran, in the Russian Far East, is the brainchild of the Japanese Government, and is the first successful international project of its kind in Russia. Suzuran neatly solves the problem of making safe the liquid radioactive waste being derived from general purpose and missile nuclear submarines of the Russian Pacific Fleet as they are decommissioned and dismantled. The project was administered by the Technical Secretariat of the Japan-Russia Committee for Co-operation on Reducing Nuclear Weapons, who appointed Crown Agents as their agent and RWE NUKEM as their Technical Consultants to manage the project on a day to day basis and oversee the tender, construction and commissioning. This project is unique and complex in that it is, in reality, two projects. Firstly, the construction of a sea-going barge and, secondly, the construction of a complex radioactive liquid waste processing facility. Changes in the Russian Radiation Regulations during the course of the project, required the design to be altered significantly; for example, the facility had to be mounted within the structure of the vessel. Numerous regulators, design and testing institutes were involved throughout the project, to ensure it complied with both Russian and International regulations. Suzuran is the only floating complex that can operate independently for up to 30 days away from base. It is also exceptional in having the greatest throughput capacity of any project of its type and in being fully actively commissioned and licensed to operate, as part of the original contract. Other similar projects, which have a lower throughput and are land-based, have been handed over prior to completion of active commissioning. The international project was particularly complex since it involved not only Japan and Russia but also a Japanese-American contractor, who subcontracted the construction work to Russian shipyards. The Amurski Shipyard at Komsomolsk-na-Amur constructed the Vessel and the processing Facility was constructed in America and shipped to Russia where it was installed on the Barge. The Barge was then towed down the Amur River and down the Russian East Coast to Bolshoi Kamen where it was inactively and actively commissioned. The completed Barge was completed and is now operating, following a one-year warranty period. The project required everyone’s close co-operation and understanding. Particularly onerous was the need to comply with comprehensive Russian regulations, both for sea-going vessels as well as for nuclear facilities. This is a success story in itself. The official Handover ceremony of Suzuran was held in November 2000 and is now operating at the Far Eastern Shipyard, Zvezda. This paper will describe the history and process involved in establishing the Barge project for the treatment of Low Level Liquid Radioactive Waste.

One of the major concerns in long duration space exploration is to minimize the exposure of crew and equipment to space radiation. High energy radiation not only can be hazardous to the health but also can damage the materials and electronics. Current designs are contained heavy metals to avoid occupational hazards from radiation exposures. As a result the shielding structures are heavy and not effective to attenuate all types of radiation. Therefore, the proposed lightweight sandwich composites are designed to effectively shield high energy radiations while providing structural integrity. In the manufactured hybrid sandwich composite, High Molecular Weight Poly Ethylene (HMWPE) woven fabrics are selected as face sheets due to their advanced mechanical properties and excellent physical properties along with effective shielding properties. Basically polymers due to high hydrogen content are considered as effective materials to attenuate high energy radiations. In addition, the core material is epoxy composites incorporating three weight percentages of three different nanoparticles viz. Boron Carbide, Boron Nanopowder and Gadolinium. In fact if polymers as low Z materials are used alone, they usually are not successful to attenuate highly penetrative rays. Therefore, one solution is known to infuse polymer matrix with high radiation absorption properties nanoparticles. Among several different nanomaterials, the three aforementioned nanofillers were chosen because of their good radiation absorption properties. Gadolinium has the highest thermal neutron cross section compare to any other known element and 10B-containing materials are known as excellent radiation absorbers and the composite filled with them have the advantage of convenient and safety in construction, operation and reintegration. The sandwich composites were manufactured using Heat-Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Molding method (H-VARTM), which is a cost effective method for high volume production of sandwich structures. To evaluate the shielding performance of manufactured sandwich panels the neutron attenuation testing was performed. The results from neutron radiation tests show more than 99% shielding performance in all of the sandwich panels. In comparison with other nanofillers, Boron Nanopowder showed highest radiation shielding efficiency (99.64%), which can be attributed to its lowest particle size and better dispersion ability into epoxy resin. The flatwise compression testing was performed on all four sandwich panels to determine the mechanical strength of materials before and after being exposure to radiation. The results demonstrate that proposed hybrid sandwich panels can preserve their mechanical integrity while being exposed to the radiation.
