Abstract:
The phenomenon under investigation is the transition from an industrial society to a society that is based to a larger extent on knowledge resources. The question the authors are investigating is: What are the key value creation processes in a knowledge-based organization? The objective of the article is to understand and explain the social mechanisms that influence the development of knowledge-based organizations. The method used is conceptual generalization. The findings are linked to a new emphasis on information structure (infostructure), and a new way of organizing (front line focus), the modulization of work processes, and global competence clusters.

Abstract:
In the Russian Federation, a person who organized the creation of a complex object is not the author of such an object. Traditionally, civil law distinguishes a triumvirate of authors of a complex object on the example of one of its type - an audiovisual work. A production director, scriptwriter and composer who created music specially for this work are recognized as authors. However, the foreign legislation of some states has a different approach to this issue. In the article, on the example of such a participant as a producer, the author considers the problem of determining his legal status, since in the countries of the Anglo-American legal system a producer is considered to be the author of the movie. The article highlights that the person responsible for the organization of the process of creating such an object, in particular, the person who took the initiative and responsibility for the creation of the relevant object (not only financial contribution but also creative one), may be considered to be the author provided he makes a creative contribution to the creation of a complex object.

Abstract:
Purpose – This paper aims to analyze the conditions for co-creation in a non-commercial context. The particular aim is to show how a co-creative activity is framed for the participants and the consequences of the frames for the values that are co-created in the process. Design/methodology/approach – Goffman’s frame analysis is applied to investigate how co-creation is used as a marketing strategy where an art event is used as an engagement platform to involve citizens in creating visions for an urban renewal area. It is a qualitative study based on observations. Findings – The taken-for-granted ideas of the active and creative consumer along with the focus in marketing research on the positive values achieved in a co-creative process are problematic in a public context. An unreflexive use of a co-creative strategy in a non-commercial setting and using art as an engagement platform, in combination with insufficient communication about the new framings, result in no-creation of value or even co-destruction of value. Practical implications – Unclear definition of the situation for co-creation results in confusion about how to interact and how to create value. Such an outcome is highly problematic for a public organization. It is of major importance that citizens can identify and understand the type of activity. The authors argue that communication in well-defined phases of an event can facilitate desired acts of co-creation. Originality/value – Value co-creation theory has been transferred between contexts, but there are few studies of what the transfer means in terms of consumer abilities to take part in the value creation process and its rules of engagement. This study demonstrates the difficulties of moving from theory to practice when the context changes from a commercial to a public participatory one. This opens for new research venues in value co-creation and marketing theory.

Abstract:
The aim of this work is by combination of the graph theory and Markowitz portfolio theory to illustrate how some graph characteristics are related to the diversification potential of individual portfolio-forming stocks. Using the graph characteristic, the vertex eccentricity, individual stocks are divided into two groups: a group of large and group of small eccentricity. Eccentricity in this context is considered to be a very suitable metric of the centrality of individual vertices. Different price histories (5 to 30 years) of the Standard and Poor’s index are analyzed. Using the simulation analysis, samples of mentioned groups are generated and then tested by means of comparison to show that larger eccentricity samples, representing stocks on the periphery of the minimum spanning tree of the graph, have a higher potential for diversification than those found in the center of the graph. The results published in the article can be a practical guide for an individual investor during the portfolio creation process and help him/her with decision-making about stock selection.

Abstract:
We develop a new perspective on entrepreneurship as a dynamic, complex, subjective process of creative organizing. Our approach, which we call ‘dynamic creation’, synthesizes core ideas from Austrian ‘radical subjectivism’ with complementary ideas from psychology (empathy), strategy and organization theory (modularity), and complexity theory (self-organization). We articulate conjectures at multiple levels about how such dynamic creative processes as empathizing, modularizing, and self-organizing help organize subjectively imagined novel ideas in entrepreneurs’ minds, heterogeneous resources in their firms, and disequilibrium markets in their environments. In our most provocative claim, we argue that entrepreneurs, by imagining divergent futures and (re)combining heterogeneous resources to create novel products, drive far-from-equilibrium market processes to create not market anarchy but market order. We conclude our exposition of each dynamic creative process by offering one possible direction for future research and articulating additional conjectures that help point the way. Throughout, we draw examples from CareerBuilder—a firm that has played a major role in creating and shaping the online model in the job search/recruiting industry—and its industry rivals (e.g. Monster, Yahoo’s HotJobs) to illustrate selected concepts and relationships in dynamic entrepreneurial creation.

Abstract:
The problem studied is related to new venture creation. The question the authors will examine here is: What are the knowledge conditions for new venture creation? The methodology used is conceptual generalization. The purpose of the paper is to bring new understandings to venture creation. In attempting to answer the research question, the authors hope to make a contribution to a policy for supporting entrepreneurship, both corporate entrepreneurship and independent entrepreneurship. The approach the authors adopt here has its roots in the Austrian School. The area of research is the global knowledge economy of the 21st century. Finding one, in this paper, is that entrepreneurial policy has to take four types of knowledge (explicit, tacit, implicit, hidden) into consideration in order to effectively bring forward new venture creation. Finding two is a mini theory, i.e., a system of propositions for new venture creation. Finding three is a system of methodology developed to bring forward the four knowledge types mentioned in finding one

Abstract:
The understanding about the creation of our universe is explored in many philosophies, natural sciences, religions, ideologies, traditions and many other disciplines. Currently, natural science cannot answer this question at the most fundamental level. In this work, based on the ancient Chinese Tao wisdom about creation, we propose the Law of Tao Yin–Yang Creation. This law states that everything is created from emptiness through yin–yang interaction. Yin and yang are the two basic elements that make up everything. Yin and yang are opposite, relative, co-created, inseparable and co-dependent. The Law of Tao Yin–Yang Creation gives us a deeper insight about space and time. We propose that space and time are two basic measurements we conduct. Time relates to the measurement of movement and change. Space relates to the measurement of stillness and solidity. Space and time are a yin–yang pair. Interaction of two fundamental yin–yang pairs, the space and time yin–yang pair and the inclusion and exclusion duality pair, create our universe. We demonstrate that from this insight, one can derive string theory, superstring or M-theory and the universal wave function interpretation of string theory. We suggest that the Law of Tao Yin–Yang Creation presents the exact process how “it from bit” and it could be the fundamental principle leading to the grand unification theory and the theory of everything.

This inquiry seeks deeper understanding of the usefulness of arts- and image-based practices in student and teacher negotiation of complex knowledge formation in higher education contexts. The probability for quantum creation of an inflationary universe with a pair of black holes has been studied in semiclassical approximation with Hartle–Hawking boundary conditions, assuming a gravitational action which includes a quadratic term in the scalar curvature αR2, α being a constant. The action of the instanton responsible for creating such a universe, with a spatial section with S1×S2 topology, is seen to be less than that of a de Sitter S3 instanton, unless α<-1/(8Λ), where Λ is the cosmological constant. Since negative α implies a classical instability, the probability for production of primordial black holes seems to be suppressd in R2-theory.

Abstract:
Purpose With the rapid development of information technologies and the internet, firms have increasingly focussed on customer interactions to realise value co-creation. Previous studies have empirically examined interaction orientation, but their measurements have been derived from goods-dominant logic and have not explained the mechanism of value co-creation. The purpose of this paper is to propose an operational definition and define the dimensions of interaction orientation based on value co-creation theory (IOVCC), and then develop a scale for it. Design/methodology/approach In this study, data were collected from employees via three questionnaire surveys, and then analysed using exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. Findings The findings are as follows: IOVCC represents a firm’s implementation of a set of marketing actions aimed at inserting the firm into its customers’ daily life practices and co-creating value with the customers. The construct of IOVCC consists of five behavioural dimensions: “building communication channels”, “involving customers in co-production”, “improving service capabilities”, “improving interaction quality” and “integrating interaction resources”. The measurement scale for IOVCC has acceptable levels of reliability, content validity, convergent validity, discriminant validity and nomological validity. Originality/value This study enriches the literature on value co-creation theory by revealing the process and actions of co-creating value. It also contributes to the understanding of service touchpoints by highlighting the interaction quality of touchpoints. In addition, the authors have developed a reliable and valid scale for IOVCC, thereby facilitating the measurement of a firm’s implementation of the “value co-creation” business philosophy.

This article explains how viewing resource-based theory within Brandenburger and Stuart’s value creation framework adds clarity to the theory as a whole and to its essential elements including the definition of its dependent variables, its approach to value creation, and its approach to the appropriation of economic value. Building on this foundation, the article addresses several questions about resource-based theory: Is it a theory or a view? Is resource-based theory tautological? Is resource-based theory static? How important are stakeholders within resource-based theory? Does resource-based theory constitute a theory of the firm? Does resource-based theory acknowledge industry structure’s role in explaining firm performance? Does resource-based theory incorporate uncertainty? Does resource-based theory have strong managerial implications? In accomplishing these tasks, the article sets the stage for the further evolution and application of resource-based theory.

Abstract:
Many Christian scholars have argued that standard versions of evolutionary theory and orthodox theological commitments can be reconciled. Some theistic evolutionists or “evolutionary creationists” have argued that evolutionary mechanisms such as random mutation and natural selection are nothing less than God’s way of creating. Though I dispute the logical coherence of these attempted reconciliations elsewhere, I argue here that there is little reason for Christians to attempt them, since an accumulating body of evidence from multiple subdisciplines of biology casts doubt on the creative power of the main evolutionary mechanisms. Thus, rather than addressing the question, “Can a meaningful doctrine of divine providence or creation be reconciled with mainstream evolutionary theory?” this essay will address the question of whether Christians should, or need to, attempt such a reconciliation at all.

Abstract:
After the Wars, it was necessary the companies reinvented their process and for this to create a new perspective including products and services. In 1986, Ikujiro Nonaka and Hirotaka Takeuchi received a challenge to describe product development in Japan companies. The result was “The new new product development game”. After that, Nonaka and Takeuchi wrote about their observations in this process and published many articles, presenting in 1994 the Theory of Organizational Knowledge Creation. In this context, the aim of this study is to review the Nonaka and Takeuchi documents, building a timeline and understand the concepts and the future for the Theory of Organizational Knowledge Creation. Firstly, we search the articles from Nonaka in the Scopus database. Secondly, we started reading the article “Dynamic Theory of Organizational Knowledge Creation” published in 1994 for Nonaka. Based on their references we returned for the search results and read the articles. Next, we read the articles published after 1994 and comprehending their link with the Theory of Organizational Knowledge Creation. Although the Theory of Organizational Knowledge Creation is recognized and diffused in the academy and in the organizations that study or implant the Knowledge Management, it is noticed that few authors deepen the knowledge to understand the fundamentals of the theory or, of fundamental reasoning. It is evident the concern of Nonaka and his co-authors to seek facilitators for the modes of knowledge conversion, to facilitate the practical application of the modes of knowledge conversion.
