Agricultural wastes not only serve as sources of environmental pollutions, but also serve as magnificent source of plant nutrients and natural repositories of bio-tools especially fungi of industrial interest for lignocellulolytic enzymes production. However, residues management particularly in rice–wheat system is a tedious phenomenon due to narrow gap between harvesting and sowing of these two crops. Hence, microbial intervention is one of the key options that may use successfully for their management. Thus, cellulolytic fungi were isolated from the cattle dung collected from various locatio

ABSTRACT Here we describe that the Helicobacter pylori sensor kinase produced by HP1364 and the response regulator produced by HP1365 and designated CrdS and CrdR, respectively, are both required for transcriptional induction of the H. pylori copper resistance determinant CrdA by copper ions. CrdRS-deficient mutants lacked copper induction of crdA expression and were copper sensitive. A direct role of CrdR in transcriptional regulation of crdA was confirmed by in vitro binding of CrdR to the crdA upstream region. ABSTRACT Binding of herpes simplex virus (HSV) envelope glycoprotein D (gD) to a cell surface receptor is an essential step of virus entry. We recently determined the crystal structure of gD bound to one receptor, HveA. HveA is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor family and contains four characteristic cysteine-rich domains (CRDs). The first two CRDs of HveA are necessary and sufficient for gD binding. The structure of the gD-HveA complex reveals that 17 amino acids in HveA CRD1 and 4 amino acids in HveA CRD2 directly contact gD. To determine the contribution of these 21 HveA residu

Especially when it comes to volleyball, a game that relies on jumping performance on almost every action except reception. Another crucially important quality of the lower limbs is dynamic stability. Without the latter, the frequency of injuries rises, and that is something any coach or player wants to avoid. The question arises: Are the two qualities related? Abstract:
Abstract:
Chemical composition and biological role of the surface coat (SC) of the root-knot nematodes, Meloidogyne spp. are described. SC proteins of M. incognita race 3 infective juveniles (J2) were characterized by electrophoresis and western blotting of extracts from radioiodine and biotin-labelled nematodes. J2 labelled with radioiodine and biotin released 125I and biotin-labelled molecules into water after 20 hours incubation, indicating that SC proteins may be loosely attached to the nematode. Antiserum to the principal protein reacted with the surface of live J2 and with surface proteins previou
