Abstract:
The authors explore their use of learner-centred teaching strategies and Universal Instructional Design (UID) on course websites. UID is based on universal design, the design of products and environments intended to be usable by all people to the greatest extent possible (Burgstahler & Cory, 2008). UID applies universal design to instructional products and environments, including course websites. Seeking to assess and improve course website accessibility, faculty aimed to consider to what extent they employ UID as a means to promote inclusive practices and greater accessibility. Through the University of Windsor’s university-wide learning management system (CLEW) Learning Community, faculty administered teaching evaluations to students in eight undergraduate courses. Although the evaluations indicated students considered website course delivery involved a fairly high level of accessibility, future studies are required to determine to what extent course websites reflect UID-based teaching strategies that promote accessibility.

Abstract:
Course Websites have been considered an increasingly important part of online as well as face-to-face education delivery formats. While a vast body of literature has been devoted to comparison of the online and traditional face-to-face courses, little research of student satisfaction with respect to course Websites differentiated between the online and face-to-face students. In order to improve quality of course Websites, the effort was aimed at identifying important predictors of the satisfaction of online students and face-to-face students. This study conducted Fisher’s z transformation and test to compare correlation coefficients of each of Website features and the student satisfaction between two groups of student. Williams’ T-test was performed to compare correlation coefficients, with the student satisfaction, of different Website features within one group, online or face-to-face students. The results showed that online students and face-to-face students had different focuses on Website features. Educational administrators, instructors and system developers might accordingly apply limited resources on improvement of most important features to efficiently increase student satisfaction.

Abstract:
Purpose A customer’s visit to a retail website is a critical “moment of truth” during which contemporary retailers attempt to simultaneously, during a single web navigation, capture customers’ attention, build rapport, and prompt them to act. By showing how to capture customer commitment over the course of a single website visit, the concept of customer website engagement, defined as “the process of developing cognitive, affective and behavioural commitment to an active relationship with the website”, addresses strategic concerns. Drawing from literature on engagement, the purpose of this paper is to consider how retail websites can engage customers during the course of a website navigation. A conceptual model of website customer engagement underpinned by relationship marketing and communication knowledge, shows how perceptions of the website’s exploration and sense-making potential can activate consumer engagement, and is then empirically tested. Design/methodology/approach Using survey data, measures of the four dimensions of engagement (interaction engagement, activity engagement, behavioural engagement, and communication engagement) and of three drivers are developed and validated. The model is tested empirically (n=301) using structural equation modelling. Findings The results support the process conceptualisation of engagement, which identifies organismic as well as conative stages, and show the distinct roles played by perceptions of informational exploration, experiential exploration and sense-making in activating engagement. Practical implications The study provides online retailing practice with an organising framework enabling online retailing managers to consider how, depending on their product category and their size, they might (re)design their website to optimally produce customer engagement. Originality/value The study contributes to online marketing and retailing knowledge by showing the relevance of the concept of engagement as it pertains to customers’ single navigations on retail websites, and by empirically showing, through a parsimonious model, how engagement can be activated and unfold.

Abstract:
BACKGROUND: E-learning techniques are spreading at great speed in medicine, raising concerns about the impact of adopting them. Websites especially designed to host courses are becoming more common. There is a lack of evidence that these systems could enhance student knowledge acquisition. GOAL: To evaluate the impact of using dedicated-website tools over cognition of medical students exposed to a first-aid course. METHODS: Prospective study of 184 medical students exposed to a twenty-hour first-aid course. We generated a dedicated-website with several sections (lectures, additional reading material, video and multiple choice exercises). We constructed variables expressing the student's access to each section. The evaluation was composed of fifty multiple-choice tests, based on clinical problems. We used multiple linear regression to adjust for potential confounders. RESULTS: There was no association of website intensity of exposure and the outcome - beta-coeficient 0.27 (95%CI - 0.454 - 1.004). These findings were not altered after adjustment for potential confounders - 0.165 (95%CI -0.628 - 0.960). CONCLUSION: A dedicated website with passive and active capabilities for aiding in person learning had not shown association with a better outcome.

Abstract:
The progress of big data technology has promoted the development of intelligent marketing for education companies. The online course selection system on the official website of the education company can provide users with online course selection and purchase services. The early marketing conversion rate remained below 0.09% throughout the year. After the analysis of the marketing department, it is found that there are some problems on the official website, such as a low marketing conversion rate. To improve the marketing conversion rate of the official website, the marketing department puts forward business needs. The experiential marketing strategy has been formulated, and it is planned to implement experiential course purchase and secondary marketing on the official website. The IT R & D department has established a big data marketing intelligent recommendation system project to meet the business needs put forward by the marketing department. Firstly, use the big data real-time computing technology to collect the user behavior information of users screening courses on the official website. Real time analysis of user behavior information can predict the courses given to users, which is conducive to the purchase of courses. Then, use the big data machine learning technology to integrate the marketing activity opportunity data in each marketing activity opportunity management system and establish a user portrait. For users who have participated in online or offline marketing activities but have not purchased courses, offline predict the courses and classes that can be recommended to users to carry out secondary marketing for them. Finally, the information of recommendable courses and classes predicted in real time and offline is displayed in the display area of the official website, which makes the marketing conversion rate of the official website reach 0.20%, which is 125% higher than that of the original official website.

Abstract:
Copyright infringement can have a negative impact on film makers both materially and morally. Coupled with the development of the internet, copyright infringement is not only realized in the form of pieces of VCD / DVD, but has penetrated into the internet media, namely the emergence of many websites or sites that provide free movie download services. The creators of these films and websites do not have a definite legal relationship. The emergence of these websites is of course very detrimental to the film creator because these websites operate illegally without any relationship agreement or agreement from the film creator and for the personal benefit of the website owner without thinking about the losses experienced by the film creator. But the creator can also report these websites if they feel aggrieved and of course if it is indeed proven to be carrying out illegal activities against the copyrighted films of the creator of the film. If it is proven to have committed an unlawful act, the website owner may be subject to sanctions in the form of prison or other compensation such as compensation for royalties. This research uses normative legal research with the aim of discussing how the dispute resolution mechanism between film creators and film website service providers.

Abstract:
Conversion of the introductory plant biology course for non-majors from a lecture/lab format to a web-based course was a collaborative project between the Department of Plant Biology and the Instructional Support group at ASU. This course provides an introduction to biology through the world of plants by including lectures and laboratory activities that examine plant systems. The project was undertaken to provide students with an asynchronous opportunity to participate in either the course, the lab, or both. There were three distinct phases of implementation of the multimedia website: Design, Development, and Delivery. The design phase was driven by the faculty, who, along with graduate assistants, developed the course outline and content. They gathered images, identified concepts to be animated, and created storyboards to layout the sequence in the animation. The development stage was driven by the Instructional Designers who selected the appropriate media for animations and worked with developers to create them. The delivery phase was again driven by the professors. They implemented the website as a teaching tool, gathered feedback from students and teaching assistants, and worked with instructional designers and multimedia developers to improve the site. A wide variety of on-line multimedia components were incorporated into the website, including illustrations, images, animations, interactive modules, video and text. Three separate media packages were used: MacroMedia Flash (Macromedia, 2000), Director Shockwave (Macromedia, 2000), and QuickTime (Apple, Inc. 2000). Findings from surveys of students, faculty, and staff identified positive regard for the site as a whole. Several technological and logistical challenges were encountered and addressed.

This study reported on an English language website (http://www.travelbelize.org/) analysis experiment carried out for three weeks as an in-class and homework activity in a third year (junior) level English as a Foreign Language (EFL) course at a Japanese technical university. The purpose was to explore EFL learners’ ability to analyze an English language website and produce concrete design responses in English. During the first week of the analysis (involving sixteen students selected due to performing the best during earlier in-class website analysis activities on the course), participants produced their own responses to eight open-ended design questions about the website. The second week of the analysis (involving all 59 students on the course) tested the students’ ability to search for information from the website, and recorded their impressions about the website design based on standard usability questionnaires (CSUQ, QUIS, and MPRC). The third week of the analysis had the 59 students self-report on their use of meta-cognitive reading strategies (MARSI 1.0 Questionnaire) during the website analysis. The results of the questionnaires showed that, overall, the EFL students had a basic understanding of major design questions related to information organization, screen interface design, audience, technology used, etc. However, there was statistically significant variability between responses in different groups (comprehensive evaluation, webpage design, terminology and website information and website capabilities) and the respondents were not unanimous in their impressions about the website. The result of the student self-reports on metacognitive reading strategies showed wide acceptability and use of problem-solving strategies.

Abstract:
Crowdourcing has gained or achieved a great deal or path of interest in the operation or usage or exercise during the last years of the professional generation. Many teams have done a lot of procedures and tasks in this regard to appear to be a special obligation and income-generating games. However, regardless of its reputation and its use in this generation of security technologies and the best consumer interface and value, there may be well-informed information compared to crowdsourcing, especially with reference to crowdsourcing consultants or activities or courses. Crowdsourcing coordinators or course studies play an important role in multi-person projects or processes or activities as they ensure the relationships or cooperation established between crowdsourcing groups and the gang. However, the current problem or situation of crowdsourcing mediators or courses that misleads crowdsourcing projects and their functionality and the corresponding contexts they need are no longer addressed in the course of studies. We deal with or address those issues in a way that addresses a well-known case with an average person called TestCloud which has helped us to get to the top of the platform providing software experiments or software engineering. the stadium or donations of teams that progress slowly or completely without their efforts or sending sports and programs to a good crowd. Criticism shows that the testing of the said service Cloud meets the 3 most required conditions if you want to improve or enhance its use and, these are: process management, team management and collaboration with technology. In every size, we explain or highlight many of the methods or processes that this app uses to get through the difficult situations or problems related to the collection activities that need to be done properly at the same time. The term 'crowdsourcing' was changed to be added or introduced in 2006 to describe a problem-solving model distributed by remote internet users. Since then it has been extensively studied and practiced to assist software program engineering and objective software applications. In this course we provide a comprehensive or specific survey of the use and importance of crowdsourcing on the software engineering program and software program you are trying, we aim to cover all the books and topics that may be relevant to this topic. We first assess and attempt to find definitions and application functions, crowdsourcing performance and to define and define our Crowdsourcing Software Engineering ideas together in terms of their value or application. Then we summarize or integrate the many required features within the commercial fitness regions in software system engineering and related case research. Similarly we explore software programming engineering or experimenting with domains, obligations and programs, functions, crowdsourced operations and systems and stakeholders involved in knowing Crowdsourced Software Engineering solutions. We are concluding or would like to really focus on the process of developing styles, open-ended problems and opportunities for conclusion lessons in Crowdsourced Software Engineering or Software Testing. We may also want to show or demonstrate that statistics released from the crowd are primarily based entirely on experiments that can adhere to multiple regions or activities associated with an automated web site or experimental cell. We would really like to integrate the creation of POLARIS, which produces repetitive views of texts from the crowd — primarily based entirely on experiments, rendering the events 'motif' of a different application: a series of high-level automated easy-to-use integrated low-stage action actions. Our strong focus is on the mobilization staff deployed from Mechanical Turk to fulfill 1,350 test commitments in nine popular Google Play apps, each with at least 1 million customer subscriptions.

Abstract:
Website Localization is an important part of international technical communication. Its goal is to make an existing website culturally, linguistically, visually, technically, and rhetorically adapted (customized) to the target audience so that they can read and use it as if the website were written for them. Web localization places two tasks on technical writers: To have a good understanding of the target culture and to make their own culture and its related elements easily accepted by the target audience. As a website mainly contains verbal information, translation naturally plays an important role. Therefore, the appropriate use of translation theories helps achieve successful web localization. This article mainly focuses on how to apply translation theories to teaching website localization, using Chinese culture and American culture as examples. It analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of the major translation criteria and explains how they can be used to communicate as much cultural information as possible from the source language and to increase the readability and acceptability of the target audience in the course of the website localization. Major findings are that no single translation criterion is able to handle all the translation cases effectively. In light of the nature of works to be translated, the purpose of translation, and the audience needs, various translation criteria need to be used. Suggestions are also made for customizing colors and graphics in light of the dynamic equivalence. With economical globalization, companies are competing with one another for international markets. Successful Website localization helps companies achieve this goal. So, the article is of great practical significance.

Abstract:
Abstract Introduction The global pandemic of 2020 and 2021 has had an unforgettable impact on our lives and community well-being. Burn survivors are a particularly vulnerable population for social isolation and loneliness and, therefore, an amplified need for social connection. This abstract outlines the strategic structure, curriculum, and training required to move an in-person course to an innovative digital model. Methods A group of burn subject matter experts (SMEs), including burn survivors, peer supporters, and course instructors, virtually met to brainstorm program redesign, considering the needs of the burn survivors. Research of topics guided manual and course revisions. Experts recommended a website and digital resource review to streamline organizational data collection and participants’ experiences. A scheduled pilot course and evaluation would provide feedback for changes. SMEs created a short turnaround timeline. Results After research, the revised digital manual was condensed from 200 to 50 pages, allowing for hyperlinks, abbreviated resources, and replicated content removal. Five major content areas previously taught in-person were converted to recorded PowerPoint learning modules (April – June 2020). The asynchronous modules totaled 4 hours of self-paced learning assigned to the candidates before a set virtual course. A survey monkey assessment after each module evaluates the learner's base knowledge. SMEs developed a 4-hour virtual class incorporating the modules, manual, and group exercises. A designed pre-course worksheet prepares the candidates for group exercises. Based on their burn injury type or situation (parent to parent, survivors with amputations, death of loved one), candidates practice virtual peer support visits. After the first pilot course, a comprehensive evaluation tool assessed participant satisfaction and confidence, curriculum, instructor expertise, and comfort level navigating the virtual model (August 2020). A website landing page centralized course resources and content location, streamlining participant experience and organizational data collection (March 2021). A 2-hour instructor course (n=10) provided an update on the new structure. The instructors also observe a virtual peer supporter course, participate as an instructor in-training, then co-teach with another instructor before independent course instruction (June 2021). Conclusions The digital model has trained burn survivors (n=41) in 6 courses over eight months during a pandemic. Burn survivors have trained together from around the globe to one of the calendared courses improving efficiencies. There are monetary and resource cost savings for burn centers and the organization. The digital manual is easily updated, saving in resource allocation. Peer supporters navigate additional online resources for ongoing self-growth through the embedded website landing page.

Abstract:
In recent years, under the guidance of the educational concept of equality and sharing, universities at home and abroad have increased the development and application of online course learning resources. In China, online open courses are open to all learners on the platform of major portals. Due to the increasing number of online courses, it is increasingly difficult for learners to find the content they are interested in on the website. In addition, the traditional collaborative filtering has the problems of sparse data, cold start, and low accuracy of recommendation results, etc. Therefore, the personalized recommendation system studied in this paper adds the collaborative filtering recommendation technology of user and project attributes. The recommendation system can actively discover the interest of learners according to their behavior characteristics, and provide them with online learning resources of interest, and improve the accuracy of the recommendation results by improving the collaborative filtering algorithm. In this paper, personalized recommendation technology is applied to online course website, aiming at providing personalized, automated and intelligent recommendation system for online learners.

Abstract:
The purpose of this work is to identify process measures of student interaction with a course management system (CMS). Logs maintained by Web servers capture aggregate user interactions with a Website. When combined with a login system and context from the course recorded in the CMS, more detailed measures of individual student interaction can be extracted electronically. Measures of student interaction with one CMS, ITWeb, were identified at the scopes of the entire course and individual homework assignments. Measures at the level of the entire course were collected through ITWeb for two different semesters of the same undergraduate course, while measures for individual assignments were collected for one of the courses. Correlation analysis was performed between the proposed measures and student grades with inconsistent results between courses and assignments. Though not consistently related to performance, this work demonstrates collecting objective measures of student interaction with a CMS.
