The main goal of this thesis is to find an optimal CEP service provider for specific company by using Fuller's pairwise comparison method. The thesis focuses only on B2B field. The products and parameters are chosen on that basis and they also correspond to needs of the company. At the beginning there is theoretical part, which enables to understand the following problematic and analysis properly. The next part explains the needs of companies in B2B field in the terms of CEP services. The last part is mainly about analysis and about the specific case. At the end of the thesis there is a final conclusion.

This Master's thesis focuses on chosen logistic processes of the specific e-shop. In the theoretical part, the specific environment of e-shops is described. This part also contains theoretical base for providers of courier, express and parcel services. The practical part of the thesis is divided into two parts. The first one shows ABC analysis and its suitability for the chosen entity. In the other part, sent parcels are analyzed, focusing on its structure and frequency. In the conclusion of the paper, there is an evaluation of benefits from the proceedings taken during the elaboration of this thesis.

Abstract:
The diploma thesis deals with the transport of dangerous goods in courier services. It is divided into three parts. The first part explains the term dangerous goods and its interpretation in different legal standards. In this part selected articles of the ADR Agreement and IATA DGR Regulations for road and air transport of dangerous goods are described. After the theoretical part the practical part begins, which deals with the practical aspects of transport of dangerous goods by selected courier companies and the service provided. This part also tries to identify the incidents which may happen during the transport of dangerous goods. The third part of the diploma thesis examines the transport possibilities of a particular shipment, vaccine of the fox against rabies produced by Bioveta, a.s. company. This part suggests two possible ways of transporting the vaccine, describes the necessary formalities to be followed and compares the price offers of the surveyed companies for this transport.

Cloud brokering is a service paradigm that provides interoperability and portability of applications across multiple Cloud providers. The attractiveness of Cloud brokering relies on the new services and extended computing facilities that enhance or complement those already offered by isolated Cloud providers. These services provide new value to Small and Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs) and large enterprises and make Cloud providers more competitive. Nowadays, at the infrastructure level, Cloud brokers act as an intermediary between the end-users and the Cloud providers. A Cloud broker provides a single point for service consumption in order to avoid vendor lock-in, increase application resilience, provide a unified billing, and simplify governance, procurement and settlement processes across multiple Cloud providers. In the future, Cloud brokers will provide advanced valueadded services and will use attractive pricing models to capture potential Cloud consumers. Abstract:
This study is about the progress of a cohort of students who commenced a Project 2000 pre-registration nurse education course in April 1991. The research was undertaken entirely within one setting - in a College of Healthcare which was one of the 13 Demonstration colleges in England - and was conducted over a period of three years and ten months. The aim of the study was to evaluate what was considered by the nursing profession, government officials and educationalists, to be a radically new and innovative nursing course. A case study research approach of illuminative evaluation was used, within which a three stage framework of observation, further enquiry and evaluation was followed. The emphasis of the research was on the illumination of the processes, perceptions and contingencies which resulted in particular outcomes for the participants. This has enabled a comprehensive understanding of the complex realities which surrounded this innovative course, and the effects that a number of contemporaneous events have had on the findings. A description of these events has been presented, as has a literature review, overviews of both the history which preceded the introduction of Project 2000 and the professional concerns regarding the rapidity with which it was implemented. Multiple data collection methods were used to obtain the required information from the April 1991 cohort, the teachers involved with these students, the practitioners from three health authorities and other members of the College staff. The analyses of the data and the progressive focusing on the findings, have resulted in the identification of numerous positive and negative aspects and outcomes, together with problem areas and particular issues associated with the rapidity of the implementation of the course and the management of change. The placing of the negative and positive findings in a broader explanatory context, demonstrates how they relate to each other and with the research literature, and how the resulting conclusions have been reached. The research demonstrated that there were some very positive aspects and desirable outcomes which arose from the P.2000 programme. However, the concerns are the detrimental effects which arose from the introduction of numerous innovations into a constantly changing environment. The nursing profession had placed great importance on the introduction of P.2000, but insufficient time had been allowed for the application of management of change theories which would have enabled a more successful implementation to take place.

Objectif:etudier le contenu des courriers d'admission des patients adressés et reçus à une structure d'Urgences. Méthode: 304 courriers de patients adressés et reçus par la structure d'Urgences du Centre Hospitalier de Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe , ont été recueillis sur une période de deux mois. L'analyse de ces courriers est réalisé selon les critères définis par la Haute Autorité de Santé en matière de courriers médicaux à laquelle s'ajoute une analyse selon le type de médecin rédacteur, selon la discipline concernée (médicale, chirurgicale ou orthopédique) et selon la classe d'âge des patients. Résultats : la majorité des courriers font un recto, sont manuscrits et lisibles. Les critères les plu_s renseignés sont l'identité du rédacteur (99%), la date de rédaction (99,7%), l'identité du patient (99%) et le motif de demande de prise en charge (98%). Les données médicales sont les moins renseignées : l'anamèse (57%), les antécédents (47%), l'examen clinique (39%), le traitement au long court (32%) et le traitement des symptômes aigus (14%). Les courriers les moins détaillés ont été rédigés par les médecins traitants. Les courriers les plus informatif concernent une prise en charge médicale, et les patients agés de plus de 75 ans. Conclusion : Dans cette étude, les recommandations concernant les courriers d'admission sont diversement appliquées. Ces résultats pourraient être améliorés par la généralisation d'une lettre type dont la rédaction pourrait être facilitée par l'utilisation du dossier médical informatisé
Aim : To study the content of referral letters to an emergency Department. Method : 304 referral letters to the emergency department of Basse-Terre hospital,Guadeloupe, were collected and reviewed during two months. The analysis of these letters was based on criteria definde by the high Authority of Health. Moreover, an analysis was made according to the speciality of the practitioner who whrote the letter, to the discipline of referral (medical,surgical or orthopaedic) and to the patient's date of birth. Results : Most of the letters were one-page long, handwritten and legible. The most mentionned criteria were the pratitioner's identity (99%), the date is was written (99,7%), the patient identity (99%) and the reason for referral (98%). The medical criteria were the least mentioned informations : recent medical information (57%), medical history (47%), medical examination (39%), chronicle medications (32%) and medications of the actual symptoms (14%). The least complete referral letters were written by general practioner. The most detailed ones were about a medical discipline, and about patients over 75. Conclusion : During this study, we noticed that recommandations concerning referral letters were differently applied. Those results could be improved by using pro-forma letter and adding the computerized medical file

Service Learning is an instructional approach that has been gaining national attention in the past several years. The concept was supported by John Dewey as early as 1915 but not given serious attention by educational leaders until about 30 years ago. Currently, a growing number of schools across the country are incorporating community service activities into the curriculum. In this study, seven individuals who were enrolled in such a course while in high school were interviewed. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to describe the perceptions and experiences of these former high school students while enrolled in a service learning course coupled with the passage of time to reflect upon the experience. The major research questions were: 1. Does service learning foster in students the perception of a more empathetic nature in their understanding of the recipients of the service work? 2. Are the perceptions of the students as to their desire to perform volunteer work in the future affected by service learning experiences? 3. How do students perceive the usefulness of the service learning curriculum as to linking classroom work with the volunteer experience? Service learning was defined generally as a structured elective course that combines classroom instruction with volunteer service in the community. A qualitative design was chosen for the research as this method allowed for a more in depth description of the main focus of the study--the perceptions of these former students. The findings from this study support the inclusion of service learning courses in high schools; however, there was an overall consensus from the seven participants that work must be done by educators in order to provide more structured and viable curriculums for these courses. The participant responses were generally favorable regarding their actual volunteer experiences, supporting the assertion that volunteer work supported by a well designed service learning course increases a student's ability to feel empathy for others along with the desire to be a lifelong volunteer.

Abstract:
This study aimed to explore and develop a fresh understanding of the community service needs of persons with spinal injuries. Different concepts of need were explored, which required multiple methodologies including a review of government policies and legislation, analysis of demographic, injury related and service usage data obtained from a survey, and analysis of interviews with persons with spinal injuries and their carers. Normative need was interpreted by government and service providers in terms of functional impairment and economic disadvantage, which did not reflect the individual needs of persons with spinal injuries. Neither were services for persons with spinal injuries provided to individuals according to the criteria of their felt or expressed need for services, their perceptions of the intrinsic importance of services, nor on the basis of redressing comparative inequities in service distribution. Persons with spinal injuries’ need for community services could only be understood on the basis of the contribution services made to the realisation of their plans of life, that is, to be ordinary. In order to parallel plans of ordinariness, services need to be offered in partnership with, or under the control of the person with spinal injuries, foster an essential relationship between the provider and the person with spinal injuries, and not inappropriately assess and judge the life plans of persons with spinal injuries based upon providers’ perceptions of difference.

Abstract:
Substance use disorder practitioners may identify as individuals in recovery, while others may have never experienced the challenge of abstinence. Without this lived experience, it may be difficult to accurately empathize with clients in recovery. Experiential learning is a way for students to live through an exercise in abstinence. The value of utilizing experiential learning for skill development and application of theory is established. However, there is no empirical research examining the use of experiential learning with undergraduate substance use disorder practitioner trainees not in recovery from addiction as a means to increase their ability to empathize with clients’ experiences. This article explored the impact of an experiential learning assignment in an undergraduate addictions course. A qualitative analysis of students’ written reflections revealed four primary themes. Authors offer suggestions for substance use disorder educators and recommendations for future research.

It investigated the impact that a geometry course (Shape and Space), had on the teachers levels of understanding of Shape and Space. The course was conducted over 5 days. A literature search revealed a few different tools in designing the course, the majority of which referred to either Van Hiele or Hoffer. Our course design however was instructed by the requirements of the Revised National Curriculum Statement (RNCS) and had to follow it closely.

Abstract:
Las cadenas de suministros internacionales de diferentes empresas del país utilizan la red logística courier para el ejercicio de sus operaciones. Al respecto, con la presente investigación se ha efectuado el análisis cualitativo y cuantitativo de tal cadena de suministros, observándose su relación directa con el crecimiento económico del país en términos comerciales. Los estudios de correlación y regresión efectuados permiten señalar que existe una fuerte relación del comercio exterior de ingreso y salida del país con la importación por envíos courier, pudiendo esta última explicar, en parte, el comportamiento de la primera. Asimismo, se ha observado la brecha entre la tasa de crecimiento anual de los envíos courier (2%) y del comercio electrónico del país (8% promedio), pese a que ambos deberían ir de la mano (Frontier Economics Ltd. y Global Express Association 2015). Observando el gran impacto de los envíos courier se ha efectuado un análisis de sus procesos, desde que son solicitados al extranjero hasta que son entregados al usuario final en el Perú, encontrando deficiencias que fueron medidas en los dos parámetros más relevantes: el tiempo y los costos logísticos que, finalmente, son asumidos por los usuarios de la cadena de suministros. Específicamente, se analizaron los procesos de arribo y acarreo de carga en el Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez (AIJCH); la numeración de declaraciones aduaneras por parte de las empresas courier y la documentación y pago de tales declaraciones a cargo de estas mismas empresas; procesos que representan un costo total promedio asumido por los usuarios (importadores) del orden de S/ 391,63 por envío o transacción y un lead time para el usuario final de 56,86 horas desde el arribo del avión hasta la recepción final de su pedido. Si bien el sector courier en el Perú se encuentra calificado dentro del percentil medio-alto en relación con otros países de la región, aún es necesario mejorar los procesos logísticos para lograr sobresalir sobre los demás. Luego de identificar y analizar dos opciones de mejora, se decidió por una de magnitud estratégica que consta en la implementación de un centro de distribución cross docking en las instalaciones del AIJCH enfocada principalmente al ingreso de paquetes, con lo cual se estima una reducción de los costos logísticos de importación a S/ 262,59 (33%) por envío y del lead time para el usuario a 22,49 horas (60%). Para implementar la propuesta es necesario contar con una inversión de US$ 21,2 millones, con un período de recuperación de doce meses, en razón a los beneficios sociales marginales esperados con la propuesta. Asimismo, la evaluación social efectuada estimó un Valor Actual Neto (VAN) del orden US$ 123 millones, muy atractiva para el Estado peruano y para un posible inversionista privado al contar con un VAN de US$ 29,7 millones, ambos en un periodo de 10 años y bajo los parámetros generales del Sistema Nacional de Inversión Pública (SNIP) y del Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas (MEF).

Abstract:
Since 1968, the federally funded TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program has assisted students who are either low income, first-generation, or have disabilities with services designed to improve the success of these participants in college. To achieve this goal, the services offered, such as the tutoring services at a participating 2-year college in the southeastern United States, must be effective. Guided by Tinto’s theory of academic integration, the purpose of this retrospective prediction study was to ascertain whether the amount of documented time receiving tutorial services, college placement test scores, race/ethnicity, gender, and age were predictive of student success as measured by grades in 2 levels of remedial math courses and 1 remedial English course. Nonprobability sampling of remedial course tutoring recipients produced samples for Level 1 math n = 43, Level 2 math n = 49, and English n = 25. Ordinal logistic regression analyses indicated that time spent in SSS tutoring during the first 5 weeks of a semester positively predicted grades for all 3 remedial courses. In addition, female gender was negatively correlated with grades for the Level 1 remedial math course, and college placement scores were predictive of success for both remedial math courses. Age and race/ethnicity were not significant predictors of student success for any of the courses. Based on these findings, a recommendation to implement a remedial summer bridge program was developed for the local college to provide recent high school graduates with the opportunity to get a head start on their remedial education and aid them with their transition into higher education. The summer bridge program will influence positive social change by strengthening the services of TRIO SSS at the local college, thus positively affecting the education and lives of students who take part in these services.

Based on the importance place of metacognition in education, the current study aimed to investigate whether the embedded metacognitive prompts in the manual lead a change in PSTs&rsquo
metacognitive knowledge and metacognitive skills. Throught 2009-2010 Fall semester, the data were collected from pre-service science teachers (PSTs) who enrolled in the Laboratory Applications in Science Education course. The course was offered as a must course in Elementary Science Education programme in one of the biggest universites in Ankara. The method selected for the study was mix method. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected and analyzed. Quantitative data was collected from 28 PSTs and qualitative data was collected from 7 PSTs who were the members of the researcher&rsquo
s group. In accordance with the purpose of the current study, descriptive statistics and independent samples t-test was conducted for quantitative data. In terms of qualitative part, the study was case study and interviews which were conducted before and after the course were analyzed to observe the change of PSTs&rsquo
metacognition. The result of the study revealed that before the course most of the PSTs did not report metacognitive skills. After the course it was observed that their metacognitive skills were developed. Among metacognitive skills, the most reported skill was monitoring skill after the course. It can be concluded from the study that metacognitive prompts embedded into the manual provided a metacognitively learning environment and a development in PSTs&rsquo
metacognition.

The purpose of this study was to examine how welfare status, gender, and the interaction between welfare status and gender relate to the utilization of counseling services related to marriage (i.e., "marital help-seeking"). This study was a secondary analysis of the Utah Marriage Survey data set from 2003. Two samples were utilized in this study, and generated a total sample of I ,316 participants. The first sample was made up of I, 173 randomly selected Utah households, identified through a random-digit dialing sampling technique. The second sample was obtained from a random selection of current Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) recipients. This sample of 143 TANF recipients provided an over-sample of low-income households, thus permitting comparisons with the first sample. Participants were identified through the sampling techniques described and contacted by telephone to complete the survey. The data pertaining to participants' welfare status, gender, and attitudes and behavior related to marital help-seeking were analyzed using chi-square analyses and I tests. The results indicated that welfare status is not significantly associated with marital help-seeking attitudes and behavior. In addition, no significant relationship was found between gender and marital help-seeking behavior. However, results indicated that males have less favorable attitudes than women toward marital help-seeking. Finally, welfare status and gender were not found to have a combined relationship effect on marital help-seeking attitudes and behavior.

The aim of establishing the Transkei Teachers’ In- Service College (Trinset) in 1986 by the former Transkei Department of Education, was to alleviate the problem of inappropriately qualified teachers. This problem was seen as impacting negatively on the performance of matriculation candidates in the final examinations. In the twelve years since the college’s inception there has been no formal evaluation, this despite the perception of the importance of evaluation as an integral part of planning and implementation for any educational endeavour (Mc Naught, Taylor & O’Donoghue, 1990). This study analyses the courses offered at Trinset with particular reference to the subject of Geography. The aim is to explore how best these courses can support educators in the light of the current changes in South African education. The analysis of the in-service courses used a multifaceted approach guided by the participatory principle underlying Fourth Generation Evaluation. The analysis of the in-service courses offered by Trinset, in particular by the Geography Department, has served to raise questions and to highlight issues that are seen as particularly valuable in the reconfiguration of Trinset that is part of the current educational transformation process in South Africa in terms of the provision of in-service education.

This thesis describes and analyzes the Navy's service short courses available to medical professionals. The description covers course content (subjects being taught), describes contact hours (time a class is taught), and evaluates the depth and breadth of content. The information from each course is compared to the needs of a medical treatment facility (MTF) manager, as determined by the Naval Postgraduate School 'Needs Assessment'. This examination shows that many Navy medical professional service short courses cover parts of the knowledge and skills needed to manage a medical treatment facility. The courses examined focus mainly on leadership and management skills. In order to more accurately describe and analyze these courses, obtaining more detailed information, observing the courses being taught, and interviewing course instructors is recommended.
