Abstract:
AbstractWe investigate a new paradigm in the context of learning in the limit, namely, learningcorrection grammarsfor classes ofcomputably enumerable (c.e.)languages. Knowing a language may feature a representation of it in terms oftwogrammars. The second grammar is used to make corrections to the first grammar. Such a pair of grammars can be seen as a single description of (or grammar for) the language. We call such grammarscorrection grammars. Correction grammars capture the observable fact that peopledocorrect their linguistic utterances during their usual linguistic activities. We show that learning correction grammars for classes of c.e. languages in theTxtEx-mode(i.e., converging to a single correct correction grammar in the limit) is sometimes more powerful than learning ordinary grammars even in theTxtBc-model (where the learner is allowed to converge to infinitely many syntactically distinct but correct conjectures in the limit). For eachn≥ 0. there is a similar learning advantage, again in learning correction grammars for classes of c.e. languages, but where we compare learning correction grammars that maken+ 1 corrections to those that makencorrections. The concept of a correction grammar can be extended into the constructive transfinite, using the idea of counting-down from notations for transfinite constructive ordinals. This transfinite extension can also be conceptualized as being about learning Ershov-descriptions for c.e. languages. Forua notation in Kleene's general system (O, <o) of ordinal notations for constructive ordinals, we introduce the concept of anu-correction grammar, whereuis used to bound the number of corrections that the grammar is allowed to make. We prove a general hierarchy result: ifuandvare notations for constructive ordinals such thatu<ov. then there are classes of c.e. languages that can beTxtEx-learned by conjecturingv-correction grammars but not by conjecturingu-correction grammars.Surprisingly, we show that—above “ω-many” corrections—it is not possible to strengthen the hierarchy:TxtEx-learningu-correction grammars of classes of c.e. languages, whereuis a notation inOforanyordinal, can be simulated byTxtBc-learningw-correction grammars, wherewis any notation for the smallest infinite ordinalω.

Dedic, Nikola. "Film and skepticism Cavell’s „correction“ of poststructuralist philosophy of arts." Filozofija i drustvo 26, no. 1 (2015): 205–25. http://dx.doi.org/10.2298/fid1501205d.

Abstract:
The main aim of this paper is the critique of poststructuralist theory of art, and particularly thesis about the avant-garde peace of art as a kind of transgression. As a starting point of this critique, the ordinary language philosophy developed by American philosopher Stanley Cavell is used, particularly his film theory. While poststructuralist philosophy was developed around the notion of ideology, Cavell interprets film and arts in general around the notion of skepticism. While poststructuralism, because of thesis about avant-garde as a kind of transgression within the field of ideology, is a kind of philosophy of negation, we point out that Cavell?s philosophy is a utopian theory of transcending of skepticism where avant-garde film has significant but not crucial place. Cavell?s thesis is used as a basis for re-thinking of modernism, which is in opposition to postmodernist turn realized by poststructuralism.

Abstract:
Introduction. The need to include parents in the correctional and educational process of children with disabilities is indicated in international and federal regulations, in Russian and foreign theoretical and practical studies. However, most parents have little idea of possibilities of their participation in the correction of developmental disorders, in particular, the correction of speech disorders in children. The study of parents’ correctional and speech therapy competence in order to develop a program for organizing the speech therapy work of parents with preschoolers with general speech underdevelopment (GSU) determines the relevance of this study. Materials and methods. The study involved 96 people, including 48 preschoolers with three-level GSU at the age of 5-6 and 48 parents at the age of 27±5.4. Research methods and techniques: a questionnaire by V.A. Borodina, K.S. Vasilyeva, which reveals the components of parents’ correctional and speech therapy competence (motivational, cognitive, activity and evaluative ones); statistical processing was carried out using Student's t-test. Results. According to the results of the ascertaining experiment, 54% of parents showed an average level and 46% – a low level of correctional and speech therapy competence. After applying a specially developed program for organizing parents’ speech therapy work with preschoolers with GSU, significant changes in parents’ correctional and speech therapy competence were diagnosed: a low level was detected in 4% of the parents, an average level – in 42%, and a high level – in 54%. When comparing the indicators before and after the formative experiment using Student's t-test, significant differences were revealed in the level of corrective speech therapy competence of parents of preschoolers with GSU (temp =12.0 p≤0.001). Conclusion. The data obtained in the study of the correctional and speech therapy competence of parents of children with GSU show that after the parents are included in speech therapy work to correct speech disorders in children by increasing parents’ motivation to interact with teachers of an educational institution, parents’ awareness of children’s speech development, special training in the organization of speech therapy classes with children, the effectiveness of speech therapy work to overcome general speech underdevelopment in preschoolers has increased.

Abstract:
Fraternal correction (“correctio/correptio fraterna”), or love-motivated edification of the sinner, aimed at his repentance and correction based on the gospel fragment Matt. 18:15–17, was a part of everyday practices in early Christian and monastic communities; later it received theological interpretation and justification in the writings of Augustine, Alexander of Hales, Thomas Aquinas, William of Ockham, Jean Gerson, of early Modern scholastics. The theological and canonical thought of different epochs turned to this topic often in connection with specific socio-political circumstances or events of church life. Despite the diversity of points of view, fraternal correction was understood as a positive prescription, for the fulfillment of which certain conditions are necessary: their absence makes it possible to refrain from edifying the sinner; in some situations, it is even morally unacceptable to resort to this procedure. In the literature for the laity, a positive prescription for fraternal correction has appeared since the 13th century; over the next centuries, this prescription becomes more and more categorical, in the early Modern times, it turns into an unconditional duty: failure to fulfill this duty was regarded as a sin and was subject to confession. The procedure described in Matt. 18:15–17 also becomes one of the forms of horizontal moral reform in early modern societies, is used by different Protestant denominations to justify the practice of censorship of morals and the activities of church courts (consistories), is also used to give legitimacy to certain situations of denunciation in both Catholic and Protestant communities.
