Abstract:
The main focus of the National Cooperative Policy 2011-2020 is to ensure that cooperatives in Malaysia comply with cooperative legislation. This study aimed to test the relationship between the characteristics of the cooperative with the quality of the cooperative’s annual financial reporting. The independent variables of the cooperative characteristics tested were the size and type of business. The selected study data is the annual report of the cooperative and a total of one hundred and twenty annual reports for 2010 and 2014 were used. Data were analysed using multivariate regression analysis and hierarchical multivariate regression. The results showed that the size and type of business had a significant relationship with the quality of the cooperative’s annual financial reporting at the ninety five percent and ninety nine percent confidence levels, respectively. The results of the moderating factor analysis of industry experts showed the effect of the relationship between business type and the quality of cooperative’s annual financial reporting at a confidence level of ninety five percent. While the moderating factor of industry experts did not show an effect on the relationship between the size of the cooperative and the quality of the cooperative's annual financial reporting. Thus, it can be concluded that the characteristics of cooperatives and industry experts are important elements that influence the quality of annual financial reporting of cooperatives in Malaysia.

Abstract:
Purpose: Cooperatives in Ghana, despite the history since 1920s, have contributed minimally to the national economy and demonstrated only a few success cases as socioeconomic enterprises. This study aimed to identify policy factors which enable the promotion of cooperatives in Ghana, and suggested actions to be taken by the government of Ghana and development partners. Originality: Korean researchers have rarely studied African cooperatives. Cooperatives are a proven mechanism for the economic advancement of developing countries, while Korean cooperatives have been globally recognized as excellent business organizations. This study presents an implication to roles of development partners like KOICA in empowering Africa’s cooperatives as a development cooperation agenda. Methodology: An ordered Probit model was employed to identify determinants of effectiveness of Ghana’s cooperative policy. The data was collected from 94 public officers and 5 employees of private entities in the cooperative sector. Result: Public awareness of cooperative’s benefit and audit service influenced effectiveness of Ghana’s cooperative policy. The policy should prioritize support to cooperatives’ empowerment, and the most urgent resource required by the Department of Cooperatives (DOC) was budget allocation. As a means to measure performance of DOC, number of cooperatives which own a valid certificate was most preferred. Conclusion and Implication: DOC is recommended to strengthen officer’s audit service and consider running a public awareness campaign on cooperative’s benefits. The Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR), as an overarching ministry of cooperative policy of Ghana, should quicken the revision of the Cooperative Societies Act and upgrade statistical reporting. Development partners such as KOICA are advised to identify a joint project with MELR/DOC to empower the cooperatives. Cooperative leaders and members should actively seek an opportunity for training and business transactions, and strengthen a partnership with their community.

Abstract:
Agricultural industrialization consortia fully realize the organizational advantages of division of labor, risk sharing, and benefit sharing, which mainly rely on close cooperation of members under integrated governance, but the current influence mechanism on the intensity of cooperation is yet to be explored in depth. Using 40 member cooperatives of agricultural industrialization consortia in Sichuan Province as research samples, this paper explores the mechanism by which the configuration effects of five conditional factors at the levels of social capital and knowledge absorptive capacity can generate different cooperative intensity of cooperative participation in consortia using fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis. It was found that (1) the driving mechanism of high cooperative intensity of cooperatives was divided into three paths; (2) the driving mechanism of non-high cooperative intensity of cooperatives was divided into two paths and had an asymmetric relationship with the driving mechanism of high cooperative intensity of cooperatives. The findings of this paper help to expand the research perspective on cooperative intensity at the level of social capital and knowledge absorptive capacity configuration, and provide useful insights for improving the cooperative intensity of cooperative participation in consortia and the cooperative tightness among consortium members.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to generalize, systematize and deepen the theoretical and methodological principles of the elaboration of agricultural cooperation in the development of the agrarian system of Ukraine. The role and place of cooperation in the system of social organization of labor is researched. It is displayed that cooperation is an objective prerequisite for integration, and the division of labor itself causes its necessity. In institutional theory, the choice between free market transactions and full vertical coordination for economic agents is caused by market conditions, allocative efficiency of resource allocation and their minimum cost. The dynamics and state of development of agricultural cooperation in Ukraine are analyzed. An approximate three-level scheme of the national agricultural cooperative system is developed. At the first level of the hierarchy, agricultural cooperatives and cooperative associations should be located, at the second – regional unions (associations) of agricultural cooperatives, at the third – the All-Ukrainian Association of Agricultural Cooperatives. Under such a cooperative system, the principles of centralized and decentralized management are optimally combined, the self-government of cooperatives and compliance with the principles of cooperation are ensured. Based on the three-level scheme of the national agricultural cooperative system, the conceptual principles for the development of cooperative relations in agriculture at the regional level are substantiated. At this, management functions are retained by the cooperative association, which includes agricultural enterprises, farms and households belonging to the country’s residents, consulting services and support are provided by the regional advisory service, and the distribution of funds is carried out by a credit union founded by members of this cooperative association. A model of elaborating the cooperative relations in the agricultural sector of the economy with the participation of households and small commodity producers is proposed, which provides for the creation of a consumer agricultural cooperative. In case of deepening the integration of a consumer cooperative with another production, processing or sales enterprise of the agricultural sector of the economy, the cooperative model is transformed into a cooperative-integrated one, while maintaining the advantages of cooperation and receiving additional organizational and economic benefits from integration.

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the substantiation of the development of intra-cooperative relations not regulated by legislation as one of the means of increasing the viability of agricultural consumer cooperatives in the context of modern Russian realities. Considered relationships are manifested in the practice of cooperatives in the form of following certain rules, attitudes, behavioral patterns, agreements, etc. It has been established that the underdevelopment of these relations, coupled with gaps in the cooperative legislation, is one of the reasons for the unsatisfactory rates of development of this type of cooperation in the country. Relations in the areas of management and receiving cooperative services are highlighted as the most important. Based on the study of the practice of cooperative organizations in the developed countries of the European Union and the experience of successful domestic cooperatives, the need to develop internal regulations in each cooperative containing a detailed specification of the mechanisms for implementing internal relations is substantiated. Examples of the formation of effective elements of intra-cooperative relations are given. It is concluded that the development of intra-cooperative relations corresponding to the values and principles of cooperation contributes to the filling of existing institutional voids and is a real factor in the successful development of agricultural consumer cooperation.

The cooperative education begins with the very idea of cooperative. Aware of the peculiar characteristics of these organizational forms, where cooperation is proposed as an alternative to competition and individualism, the pioneers of the cooperative system themselves set that it will be one of the principles that define and support the cooperatives themselves. It transforms into one of the pillars of sustentation of the cooperative development, being constituent of the principles, as well as the explicit needs of these organizations. This work has as aim to discuss some aspects of the history, definitions and operation of cooperative education in the State of Minas Gerais- agricultural cooperatives and analyze the organizations that offer cooperative education. As methodological work for this analysis, there was first a survey, due to scarce available literature on the situation and to achieve more information about the problem, for it, it was directed questionnaires containing closed and open questions, addressed to all the agricultural cooperatives which it had access in the State. Second, it was performed a descriptive study of organizations that carry out cooperative education in the State of Minas Gerais, which were developed semi-structured interviews and documentary research. It is concluded that cooperative education is poorly developed in the Minas Gerais- agricultural cooperatives, although there is no single definition of what is the thematic or it should include. Therefore, the diversity of studied organizations allows the understanding of existence of multiple concepts of cooperative education, and also the observation of the variety of activities and public to whom theses activities are organized. It is possible to verify the presence of three focus areas - business management, social management and technical assistance to cooperatives members- in the contents that agricultural cooperatives identified as part of cooperative education. Among the organizations there are those that offer many of these contents, but with discrepancies, or sometimes with an emphasis of some contents and little attention given to the others. Yet, it is possible to visualize matches on the activities of cooperative education that are undertaken by these organizations, thereby causing duplicity of developed actions, however, not with the same approach. It´s verified the evidences of existence of a field, in Bourdieu´s way, multiple, diversified and in development, where diverse organizations with different profiles and purposes work.

O tema central desta tese é a Cooperativa ?

Abstract:
This research has as theme “A contribution for the structuring of the proceedings and cooperatives accounting demonstrations - applied to a working cooperative” and it shows a proposal of the structure changing not only the proceedings but also the accounting demonstrations of the cooperative society starting from the problem which this kind of society has been going through, that is, the taxation and contribution based on gross revenue, which doesn’t belong to the cooperative, besides the accounting presentation of themselves, that deal with the society “sui generis” related to its indocrinate aspect, it hasn’t been getting an accounting treatment appropriately. The research began with the origin synthesis and the cooperativism in the world and its forerunners, the formation and evolution of cooperative thought, its doctrine, its principles and rules, making possible the understanding of the function of this kind of society, its own doctrine aspects which makes the difference from the rest of the societies, besides getting to identify the transactions which occurs among them and their member of a cooperative, as well as the transaction of each one separatedly, including the possibilities of registering them. Afterwards it is achieved a study of the accounting system so that based on this theory we can think it over and name this revenues, expenses and costs of the cooperatives and their members, not to mention, at the same time define which are the correct accounting proceedings for these operations. With this, people searched for theorical referencial to back up the proposal of the changings in the proceedings as well as, by consequences, in the accounting demonstrations of the cooperative societies, which were achieved in a way to show their revenues and costs and also their members separatedly, making the demonstration of the results show along with the cooperative one and their corporate assets shows with its own way following the doctrine aspects of this kind of society. Finally, the proposal for the changing theorically studied, is tried and compared by means of its application in accounting demonstrations of a cooperative type of work.

Abstract:
The development of computer supported cooperative work has been used as the main solution to help groups of people that want to work in a cooperative environment and to obtain better and faster results than those attained by individual effort. The production of complex documents, as technical description guides of products, users manuals, tutorials, technical reports, papers, and so on, is a task that is inserted in this context, because it requires the collaboration of several specialists that work in the reserach and development of the product. According to this context this dissertation presents the design of an environment to support cooperative authoring to help a group of co-authors to build a hyperdocument, even though they are physically dispersed and interacting in an assyncronous mode. This environment offers a collection of services to support as the planning phase as the hyperdocument execution or writing phase. In the planning phase are discussed the main characteristics of the hyperdocument that will be produced like definition of the logical and presentation structures, the attribuition of activities among co-authors and the elaboration of a schedulling where are detailed the necessaries tasks and the foressened time to conclude them. To help this planning are foressen meetings support tools, decision support tools and also a set of tools to support hyperdocument structure criation together with the activities attributions of each co-authors in relation with the elements created in this structure. The execution or writing phase support tools emphatize the sharing of activities and informations among the co-authors as the support to their interactions. These tools will be based on the THOT structured hyperdocuments editor (developed at INRIA/CNRS research center - Grenoble, FR.) that will manager the editions functions. These tools were projected and designed in a prototype level as extensions to this editor which will allow its use in a shared manner for a group of co-authors. It is presented in this dissertation: i) the environment definided by an informal specification about the foressen functionalities, and; ii) the implemantion characteristics on a environment prototype.

Abstract:
Because cooperatives are a model of organization that promotes economic and social development, studies of solutions that increase its performance and reduce its problems are very important. Those solutions involve not only improvement in managing and financing areas, but mostly the participation and the cooperative education. Thus, the objective of this work was to observe the relation between cooperative education, participation, and satisfaction of the members of a cooperative, as a way to contribute for the creation of proposals and plans that improve the performance of the cooperatives. To achieve this aim, it was done an exploratory study, using a questionnaire in a case study of an agricultural cooperative. The results show that high level of formal education does not implies high level of cooperative education, which is related with participation in a positive way. It also turned out that the higher participation is not connected with lower satisfaction, as imagined, but with higher economic power. All this reinforce the idea that is necessary investments in cooperative education to improve participation and cooperative performance. Despite its limits, the research is a start to others in the same area and contributes to the development of an analysis model.

Abstract:
In recent years, there has been a shift in among Kentucky rural electric cooperatives in regard to their stance on economic development. With this has been the employment of electric cooperative staff to help attract new industries and forge relationships with other local economic development-geared groups to facilitate growth. Cooperative businesses have historically proved their resilience and deep-rooted connections within the communities they serve. In exploring two similar-sized electric cooperatives in Kentucky located in two very different regions of the state, considering socio-economic status, and interviewing key informants with local affiliated economic development groups, it becomes evident that electric cooperatives possess a great potential to serve as a catalyst for economic development within their respective service territories.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The most significant challenges of organic farming are the fragmentation of the sector, unstable product supply and sales opportunities, as well as the lack of knowledge of how to manage agricultural production agronomically and economically effective. The predominant form of agricultural enterprises in Latvia is small and medium-sized farms. Thus, cooperation is an effective solution so that farmers can maintain the form of a family business and achieve an appropriate economic market, which would contribute to the possibility of sales and the value of the products produced. However, there are no fully organic and eligible grain cooperatives in Latvia in 2021. The research aim: to analyse factors affecting the needs of organic grain production through various alternatives to cooperation models. To achieve the aim, the following research methods were employed: logical construction, the graphical method, the monographic method, expert interviewing and factor ranking analysis. The research concluded that the factors influencing organic grain producer needs were most effectively implemented through the fully organic grain cooperative form the normal distribution was 40.32. The weakest form of cooperation that provided opportunities for the development of organic grain production was mixed-type cooperatives, which combined both organic and conventional agricultural production. The normal distribution for mixed-type cooperatives was 25.00. The development of organic farming could be promoted by cooperation between organic producers. An organic single-product cooperative directly addresses the needs of organic producers merging small and medium farms and providing appropriate infrastructure , thus contributing to production consolidation and competitiveness.

Abstract:
Cooperatives are organizations that are managed by partners. The behavior and approaches of the partners related to cooperative management affect the success of the cooperative. This study aimed to determine the following; level of awareness about the cooperative management of members, tasks take trends in the cooperative management who didn’t take task in the cooperative management, members participate in the cooperative management. The data were obtained by face-to-face interviews with the 367 cooperative members in Balıkesir, Bursa and Çanakkale province. Participation of members in the cooperative management of the situation revealed non-parametric statistical methods, logistic regression analysis method and fuzzy paired comparison method were used. 56,25% of the members think as, "states should be effective in reaching decisions on the cooperative". According to logistic regression analysis young partners tend to think that way than older partners. Only 20% of members who didn’t take task in the cooperative management, want to take task in the cooperative management in future. These members follow-up agricultural meetings and use internet for reach agricultural information. 45% of members joined last cooperative management meeting. According to fuzzy paired comparison method, the most influential factor in the choose management decision is “to trust management candidate”.

Abstract:
Value function decomposition (VFD) methods under the popular paradigm of centralized training and decentralized execution (CTDE) have promoted multi-agent reinforcement learning progress. However, existing VFD methods proceed from a group's value function decomposition to only solve cooperative tasks. With the individual value function decomposition, we propose MFVFD, a novel multi-agent Q-learning approach for solving cooperative and non-cooperative tasks based on mean-field theory. Our analysis on the Hawk-Dove and Nonmonotonic Cooperation matrix games evaluate MFVFD's convergent solution. Empirical studies on the challenging mixed cooperative-competitive tasks where hundreds of agents coexist demonstrate that MFVFD significantly outperforms existing baselines.

Abstract:
When can cooperation arise from self-interested decisions in public goods games? And how can we help agents to act cooperatively? We examine these classical questions in a pivotal participation game, a variant of public good games, where heterogeneous agents make binary participation decisions on contributing their endowments, and the public project succeeds when it has enough contributions. We prove it is NP-complete to decide the existence of a cooperative Nash equilibrium such that the project succeeds. We demonstrate that the decision problem becomes easy if agents are homogeneous enough. We then propose two algorithms to help cooperation in the game. Our first algorithm adds an external investment to the public project, and our second algorithm uses matching funds. We show the cost to induce a cooperative Nash equilibrium is near-optimal for both algorithms. Finally, the cost of matching funds can always be smaller than the cost of adding an external investment. Intuitively, matching funds provide a greater incentive for cooperation than adding an external investment does.

Abstract:
Partial Cooperation is a paradigm and a corresponding model, proposed to represent multi-agent systems in which agents are willing to cooperate to achieve a global goal, as long as some minimal threshold on their personal utility is satisfied. Distributed local search algorithms were proposed in order to solve asymmetric distributed constraint optimization problems (ADCOPs) in which agents are partially cooperative. We contribute by: 1) extending the partial cooperative model to allow it to represent dynamic cooperation intentions, affected by changes in agents’ wealth, in accordance with social studies literature. 2) proposing a novel local search algorithm in which agents receive indications of others’ preferences on their actions and thus, can perform actions that are socially beneficial. Our empirical study reveals the advantage of the proposed algorithm in multiple benchmarks. Specifically, on realistic meeting scheduling problems it overcomes limitations of standard local search algorithms.

Abstract:
The houses made in Uruguay under the cooperative system since the beginning of the 70s, are recognized as a socially and politically legitimized way of collective construction of the habitat. From its bases, the system promotes a collective model that forms an alternative to the hegemonic ways of the market to produce habitable space with a national territory reach. The proposal presented is the result of the link between academic networks and the Gender Area of the Uruguayan Federation of Mutual Aid Cooperatives (FUCVAM) with the aim of building a critical and proactive look at the modes of production and use of the housing cooperatives collective space, leaning on urban formulations of feminism. Particularly, addressing hypotheses of transformations in the configuration, quantification, distribution, uses and arrangements of common spaces, understood as areas capable of redirecting roles and relationships, based on sex-gender regulations, and articulating various social care strategies linked to the sustainability of life. Abstract:
In accordance with the maturation of industry, the major mean of value offering shifts from mass products to services. To develop successful services, the cooperation with different organizations and individuals is effective since innovative services often require various capabilities and resources which are difficult to obtain by one company. For the realization of such a cooperative service, a design methodology which can handle requirements of various stakeholders and a complex service structure is required.
