Gohin, Audrey. "Variabilité des pratiques professionnelles des conseillers/référents RSA. Le rôle de la représentation de l'employabilité, du sentiment de reconnaissance et des conflits de rôles et de valeurs perçus." Electronic Thesis or Diss., Toulouse 2, 2023. http://www.theses.fr/2023TOU20066.
Since the end of « the 30-year post-war boom », the french employment and fight against exclusion policies have been trying to reduce the mass employment (Zoberman, 2011). At national and local levels, job integration plans are happening with greater frequency. However, this diversity make understandable the « insititutional confusing » typical for french job integration system (DARES, 2008) despite the government's desire to reduce this maze through « France Travail » (2023). While a number of academic studies have focused on buildings plans (Ebersold, 2005 ; Trindade-Chadeau) and evaluate the effects of theses plans on job-seekers (Hamzaoui, 2005 ; Wuhl, 1996), few studies have examined the actors in the integration sector, at the end of the employment policy chain. Based on this observation, our thesis, rooted in Work and Organizations Psychology, aims to analyze the professional practice of a specific population of insertion actors : "Revenu de Solidarité Active (RSA) advisors/referents". The french integration system is unique, it is at the crossroads between managerial logics aimed at reducing the number of jobseekers (Bajoit, 2005 ; Zwick Monney, 2015b) and more humanistic values herited from the social sector, which are better to take account of the singularity of jobseekers situations (Brégéon, 2008). In this particular context, how do RSA advisors/referents exercise and represente their professional role? Some RSA advisors/referents, for example, are more likely to adapt their practices to institutional prescriptions on employability. Others are more likely to seek a certain flexibility to take account of the specific situations of the people they support. Inscribed in a psychosocial perspective, the thesis aims to describe and account for the variability of guidance practices through the role orientation of RSA advisors/referents. With reference to the theoretical model of plural and active socialization (Baubion-Broye and al., 2013 ; Malrieu, 1989),we postulate hat the orientation of the professional role of these advisors/referents does not depend in a linear way based on institutional prescriptions, but is the result of a complex subjective activity - of intersignification - putting into perspective values, representations of self, others and work, which can sometimes be coherent with each other, or sometimes competing and a source of intrapersonal conflicts. This activity - not free from doubts and questioning - gives rise to a role orientation specific to each advisor. To account for this variability, we have developed a mixed methodology that articulates two empirical strands : an exploratory qualitative study and an extensive study. The qualitative exploratory study consists of semi-structured interviews with 12 RSA referents. A double analysis of the interviews - thematic and lexicometric via AlcesteEducation2018 - shows two predominant professional role orientations among RSA referents. An extensive questionnaire survey of 211 RSA advisors/referents showed that RSA advisors/referents are either involved in a conflictual dynamic in the orientation of their professional role, or in a dynamic of recognition of the orientation of this role. Both studies show a population that is mostly comfortable in their orientation in its professional role but that develops concerns for the future of its sector

This research is built in two parts. The first, entitled "Support in a context of persistent crisis", specifies the sociological evolution of young people and the conditions for setting up a structure intended for their social and professional integration. The second part, named: "Taking charge of the support process for young people by the advisers of the Mission Locale de Paris" describes support situations and shows how the advisers (CISP) use the devices of the Local Mission to integrate socially and professionally beneficiaries with very varied profiles. It also shows that the profession of CISP requires specific expertise and skills. However, although their barriers to employability have been reduced or eliminated, some people do not gain access to employment. According to the CISP, the beneficiaries encounter many difficulties in their integration process, including discrimination. It seemed important to us to deal with this question in the third part entitled: "The Counselor on social and professional integration in the face of discrimination: What support?". The purpose of this research is to show that the path of support for young people in social and professional integration is done through specific programs, a dedicated place - the local mission - with the help of a professional capable of carrying it out. - the counselor. Building the integration of young people as a social fact through support means entering a field of analysis that requires the mobilization of a theoretical framework situated at the crossroads of the sociology of youth, the sociology of public policies, the sociology of professional groups, the sociology of organizations, the sociology of expertise and the sociology of discrimination. This theoretical conception clarifies and organizes reality by bringing out the relevant questions ensuring a precise understanding of the phenomenon. It is not a thesis in administrative or legal science but rather in human sciences and specifically in sociology, which allows us to identify as much as possible a knowledge of the mode of support for active integration, integrating young people into society. and the world of work in a period of persistent crisis

For understanding profesional insertion in cameroon about students graduated from letters and social sciences. First we have try to replace firms capable of receiving them in the social, economic, political and also geographical context in hich they are. Consequently, in spite of collective conventions and other measuremnts in favour of employment, we were able to notice that firms pratices are not senseless when they sign on. Sometimes they belong to the realm of affective. In any case, these pratices change according to the origin of the firm's capital. Thereby, we can affirm that profesional insertion is also under the influence of sociocultural relational and psychological factors. In the second place, through conversation with students graduated from letters and social sciences, we were able to judge the incidence of several type of factors and distinguish some itineraries of insertion. The analysis of biographies they obtained, reveals that profesional insertion can be made as well on criterion of adherence to a group as to campetence while integrating the given informations on environment. This new problematic implies the existence of an individual strategy and fittings facing the social, cultural and economic environment

This work deals with the evaluation of some public employment policies (alternated training programs, community jobs, courses for the initiation into the working life, training courses for the 16 to 25-year-olds) set up in France during the eighties to improve the labour market prospects of young people. It's based on the estimates of a multi-states multi-spells transition model and of a structural model of job search and transition among unemployment, training courses and employment. The econometric analysis is conducted on subsamples provided by the "suivi des chômeurs" survey collected by the INSEE over the period November 1986- May 1988. Estimates put forth the following results: the experience of subsidized jobs with alternated training periods increases the probability to accede to stable jobs at the end of a subsequent unemployment spell and is associated to a higher average duration for regular jobs; community jobs are associated with a highly probable re-entrance into public programs. It also appears that the experience of any employment program makes easier the transition to employment for least educated people, and that the experience of an alternated training contract induces higher job offers

The profession of genetic counselors was founded in Europe in the 1980’s in the United Kingdom. In France, it began in 2005 under the aegis of a law, following the report on the demographic situation in the Health professions (Berland 2002 /2004). Today, after seven years, we number 122 graduated genetic counselors that can work in a variety of settings in multiple specialty areas of human genetics. How these new non-medical practitioners are integrated into multidisciplinary services of genetics? How are they recruited and with which status? What are the responsibilities entrusted to them? How are they perceived by geneticists working with them? What is their position at European level? First, we performed a literature survey to trace the history of the creation of this new profession. To answer the underlined questions, we used socio-epidemiological studies through the elaboration of surveys regarding the education, the role and practice of genetic counselor. Studies were addressed to both genetic counselors and geneticists. Among the 122 graduated genetic counselors," 94 are employed (77%). They are able to manage consultations only when no medical act is required. However, the responsibilities are dependent on the relationship established between the genetic counselor and the medical geneticist. Overall, this profession has quickly settled in France and is the only one having a law at the European level. Although this survey emphasizes inequalities in the practice of this new profession as well as discrepancies regarding the administrative aspects, genetic counselors are increasingly being integrated into all levels of healthcare service delivery

This research presents the results of a study conducted with young graduates of the restaurant industry (young cooks). If restoration is an area that has a high turnover rate, paradoxically, itis also one of the sectors where the lack of workforce is the highest. In general, this thesis aims to reflect the different types of difficulties and constraints that interfere with the integration and stabilization of young kitchen graduates (cooks) and to shed light on their professional situation, three years after leaving the school system. The results of this research highlight four main types of difficulties faced by young chefs, namely the difficulties associated with structural conditions in the labor market, the difficulties associated with the operating logic of the restaurant industry, the social and family difficulties and difficulties related to attitudes and characteristics of young people themselves. To cope with these types of difficulties, young cooks use three types of strategies: strategies for maintaining and stabilizing their employment, strategies to get out of the employment or the restaurant industry, and finally strategies of gradual divestment from the labor market

A survey over a six year period of time discloses the way 750 young people registered in three vocational schools in Nantes (september 1984) get inserted in adult life. The results show that this population is extremely diversified, as much as far their school experience is concerned (curriculum completion, exam results, further studies afterwards, etc. ) As in the way they get inserted in their professional life (whether or not they get employed, and for how long) or more particularly concerning their work experiences (job type, wage amount, practical working conditions, etc. ). Besides, the walue systems to which they adhere outside the professional sphere (leisure practices, professional plans for the future, successful life conception, etc. ) Reveals three distinct and coherent principles, depending on both sex and path of reference

Chronic widespread underemployment and the renewed surge of precarity and poverty in France since the early 1980s, are at the root of the employment question as a social issue, for the past twenty years. The main response of the public administration to the ever growing phenomena of social and professionnal exclusion has been reintegration through work. This response corresponds to the central role of work in the social structure, which is both a factor of social connectedness and a principle of order; this has been confirmed by the intricately penal and social history of the treatment of non-work in the policies of law. Contemporary policies of reintegration through work follow in this way the prospect of normalisation which has defined the attitude fowards work in the judicial and social policies over the past two centuries. Entitled "work in legal policies" the first part traces back varied institutionalized attitudes towards work, at the interface of the penal and social questions in france during the 19th and 20th centuries : social awarness through work (pre-revolutionary period), correction through work ( revolutionary period and the "second republique"), aid through work (the "third republique"), rehabilitation through work (between the two wars and during the "30 glorieuses") and reintegration through work (since the early 1980s). The second part entitled : "law in the work policies" targets two goals : the first goal consists in an evaluation of the influence of historical models of normalisation through work (social awarness, correction, aid, rehabilitation) on the contemporary policies of reintegration through work

The present thesis develops the effects resulting from the social classifications concerning a certain youth: this is particularly advanced by studying the conditions of access to job by young people and by the confrontation of these results to the theory of the "professional transition" (J. Rose). The classification are analyzed as a necessary condition for the setting up of employment policies and particularly the measures called TUC-CES (collective usefulness jobs - solidarity employment contracts) on one hand, the TUC-CES people are fundamentally analyzed from the point of view and the mobilization strategies developed by institutions which appeal to these young people. On the other hand, this population (TUC-CES people) is analyzing by questioning the steps taken by young people: here, institutional determinations are strongly tied up with individual processes. The concepts of socialization and identity allow the construction of a framework which examines an original program of employment policy

Background: in Benin, the misknowledge of the reality of epilepsy and its consequencescould cause difficulties encountered by people with epilepsy (PWE) when searching for a jobbut also in the course of their professional career.Purpose: to study the employability and retention in employment of people with epilepsy inBenin. Methods: a first cross-sectional study (study 1) was conducted between 1st september and 30november 2012 with 300 people belonging to three categories of actors that can promote theemployability of the PWE (caregivers, employers and political decision-makers) and assesstheir knowledge, attitudes and practices against this disease and the PWE. A second crosssectionalstudy (study 2) was conducted between 1st july and 1st november 2013 in order tostudy the impact of epilepsy on employment and professional integration. A first comparisonwas made between a group of 51 PWE employees and a group of 51 PWE without work and asecond comparison was conducted between the same group of 51 PWE employed and a groupof 51 free employees of epilepsy in the same companies. Results: study 1 allowed to highlight that 93.0% of respondents had information on thedisease and 82.0% felt that a PSE could work. For nearly three quarters of respondents, epilepsy was a disease of natural origin, curable by antiepileptic treatments effective and noncontagious.Study 2 helped to highlight that 90.2% of the PSE to labour were active, inadequately controlled seizures with tonic-clonic predominating and that the age of onset ofthe first seizure was significantly later compared the PWE without employment. Analysis ofworkstations were 10 PWE exposed to routine professional tasks at risk (driving, working atheight or assignment to security positions requiring a weapon port). There was a certaininsecurity of the PWE with a larger proportion of term contract and a shorter workplaceseniority position with equal skills. Accidents at work, even if they were not more frequent, were more severe and longer off periods training. The PWE to work were more stressed thanother workers but the perception of the constraints of the psycho-social environment and theexperience of work was similar in the 2 groups. Conclusion: the lack of occurrence of epilepsy in the workplace remains the key integrationand retention in employment. Only suitable treatment associated with a regular lifestyle tocontrol seizures will consider the PWE as one worker like the others and avoiding anydiscrimination and stigma at work

The emergence of individuality (Montaigne, Locke) leads to the notion of interest (Rousseau) and to the birth of a psychology of interest (Dewey, Claparède, Piaget). The notion of interest is enlightened by its connotations (attention, emotion, projection, identification, representation) and by akin notions such as appetite and involvement. The author also approaches the results of the validation of the inventory of occupational interests he drew up - on the Rothwell-Miller interest blank pattern - for undualified or not-over qualified young

The transformations relative to the employment and labour market lead us to take an interest in the development of a specific framework regarding management of the workforce furthest away from the employment. The example of the working process of intermediary associations, acting into the insertion field by the economic activity, enables us to clearly understand the creation, the development and the transformations which occurred for this intermediary body of the employment over the second part of the 20th century. Considered as a fast growing social and historical construction of collective and individual actors, the structure, thanks to the listed elements, holds a central position into the study of populations suffering from severe difficulties to gain access to the labour market. The constitution of this professional group results from the confrontation of three logics : institutional, collective and organisational, the third one being linked to the professional practices of permanent people. The work carried out on this matter reflects a radical evolution of the forms of employment through its modalities of reproduction and extension in the margins of the wage-earner society

Teacher attrition is an important problem in education, especially for beginning teachers (Borman et Dowling, 2008!; Macdonald, 1999!; Organisation de coopération et de développement économiques [OCDE], 2005). Induction programs are considered one of the best ways to alleviate the problem (Karsenti et Collin, 2009). Indeed, many researchers proposed this solution to overcome beginning teacher attrition (Borman et Dowling, 2008!; Colbert et Wolf, 1992!; Comité syndical européen de l’Éducation [CSEE], 2008!; Howe, 2006!; Martineau, 2006!; OCDE, 2005!; Sauvé, 2012!; Sénéchal, Boudrias, Brunet et Savoie, 2008!; Shakrani, 2008!; Tardif, 2009). To adequately support beginning teachers, we must first know the nature of their activity, from their training in the university until their entry on the priority list. This case study of three beginning teachers answers precisely this question. The teachers’ experiences, documented by semi-structured interviews, have been analyzed from the perspective of the third generation of activity theory, through a systemic reading of activity systems (Engeström, 2015). Our research shows that these teachers evolve in an activity system marked by contradictions. For instance, beginning teachers do not have full access to professional development tools, even those specifically designed for them. Our research also reveals that peer support plays a key role in teacher retention.
Vicard, Augustin. "Six essais en économie appliquée : insertion professionnelle des jeunes : utilisation variables subjectives en économie de la santé." Paris, EHESS, 2015. https://tel.archives-ouvertes.fr/tel-01249815.
This thesis is composed of six essays on youth and the labor market on the one hand, and on the use of subjective variables in health economics on the other hand. In most developed countries, young people often face great and increasing difficulties when entering the labor market, especially since the Great Recession. The first two chapters analyse French programs aimed at helping youth facing these difficulties. We evaluate the impact of extending the minimum income to young people (Chapter 1) and of strengthening the main training program for youth (Chapter 2). The third and fourth chapters focus on the unemployment level when young people enter the labor market, analyzing its impact on their educational attainment (Chapter 3), and on their wage and employment prospects throughout their career (Chapter 4) Moreover, the increasing use of subjective variables by economists raises the question of their reliability and robustness. In the last two chapters, we explore how the formulation of subjective questions shape the collected answers, for two variables often used in health economics : foregone health care due to cost (Chapter 5) and subjective health (Chapter 6). Using the split sample method, we compare the responses of several random samples of respondents, which answer to different formulations of the same question

Fifty years after it has been institutionalized within the professional system in Quebec province and after it has been given a key function within the provincial education system, the profession of vocational guidance counselor (v.g.c.) is still struggling for the recognition of its social relevance. It is as if the professionalization, which is understood as a process that allows a trade to be recognized with its own identity linked to the exercise of responsibilities requiring high qualifications, was still being questioned. As the education system is frequently being reformed, the constant reconfiguration of practices makes the claim of a clear occupational identity difficult. The v.g.c have been affected deep into their professional core by the institutional transformations of the recent years. At least that is what this thesis wants to explore by apprehending a dynamic of occupational identity suffering. Based on the theoretical and methodological framework of the clinic of the activity (Clot, 1999; Oddone, Re & Briante, 1981) and of the psychodynamics of work (Dejours, 2008), this dissertation aims to analyze the tensions between the practices prescribed by the education system and the profession, those desired by the v.g.c. and the actual practices which are embodied in the daily work. It is to enlighten the dynamics between pleasure, suffering at work and defensive strategies, in the light of the professional rules derived from the occupational “genre” and the work collective. Conducted with two groups of v.g.c. (n=10 and 11) encountered each on four occasions, the research reveals these main lines of occupational identity suffering: a disembodiment of the professional core; a deprofessionalization of work; a professional disrepute; and a deficit of collegiality. To protect from this suffering, the v.g.c. use strategies derived from their “trade desire” that participate in its redefinition. It appears that this way to understand the occupational identity suffering and its discussion within collective of v.g.c. can lead to a reappropriation and a development of the profession in the society.

This research aims to conceptualize and operationalize a scale measuring strategies that call for the protection of the profession of counselors who works in the school sector (occupational protection strategies). A review of scientific literature in counseling raises questions about the effectiveness of guidance work in schools. In addition, the presence of many organizational constraints would notably feed the dissatisfaction at work and the exhaustion of school guidance counselors. The experience of these constraints would also affect their professional identity in a very specific way, generating an occupational suffering that results from the impediment to set up the work in the core of the guidance counselor profession, the relationship of assistance with the student. Thus, this master thesis explores the strategies used by these professionals to empower their work, so as to avoid the experience of occupational identity suffering. Based on the approaches proposed by DeVellis (2016) and Rubio, Berg-Weger, Tebb, Lee and Rauch (2003), the Occupational Protection Strategies Scale (SPM) was developed. The results of the exploratory factor analyzes revealed a promising factor structure with respect to two of the four factors: the professional recognition strategies and the reprofessionalization strategies. Overall, the reliability coefficients are satisfactory (ω = 0.61 to 0.77 and α = 0.60 to 0.76). The results of the regression analyzes have shown that the interest strategies seem to effectively protect from occupational identity suffering, although two other factors, collective actions and union mobilization, appear to be conceptually and empirically weaker. The recommendations support the relevance of revising the sclae, a step that will improve the accuracy and completeness of the measuring instrument in a subsequent research phase.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the temporary contracts and its impacts on labour mobility in France. In a first part, we aim at investigating the determinant to use temporary contract. The theoretical analyses intend to explain that temporary contracts are a solution to the moral hazard, adverse selection, job matching and uncertainty affecting the external environment of the firm. The econometric evaluation from the French Labour Survey of these determinants confirms the positive effect of contracting costs evoked by the literature on the contract duration. The second part examined whether temporary contracts deserve to be considered as stepping stones to permanent ones. Using French Labour Survey, our results show that, for men and women, the transition to permanent contract decreases after 12th months. After a temporary contract in the public sector, compared to private, the workers are more likely to fall again into unemployment or another temporary contract. The third part studies the impact of the individual transition from a temporary job (CDD) to permanent job (CDI) on the wage. We present the transition from a temporary job to a permanent one as a simple tournament mechanism. The equilibrium properties of the model show that wages differences between temporary jobs and permanent ones are positively correlated with uncertainty during tournament. Using French Labour Survey, using a firm size as a proxy for uncertainty, our results do not reject the equilibrium property of the model according to which more uncertainty during tournament reduces players’ incentives and would be compensated by an increased wage gap between promoted and not promoted

What factors come into play and are critical in a new teacher’s drop out? If teacher attrition is not a new phenomenon, it is now more than ever a major issue that should provoke reflection for the sake of the profession and the educational community. The purpose of this qualitative study is to define and understand the multidimensionality of the teacher attrition phenomenon. To answer this question, a vast review of the literature was conducted about the professional induction of teachers. Several aspects related to career entry were then explored: the factors of difficulty related to this period, an overview of some induction programs present in Quebec and elsewhere, the main support activities and measures for new teachers and the roles that school principals could play in supporting novice teachers. This review of the literature has made it possible to identify the factors underlying the phenomenon of dropping out and to identify among them the most important factors in the process of disengagement. In a second step, some elements from the literature review were compared to what emerged from the indepth analysis of the researcher's experience as a teacher. Similarities and differences were thus made between theory and practice. Finally, the discussion was focused on twelve statements, which are especially addressed to the principals, and which aim to support more effectively their teachers in professional integration.

From the definition of the "total social fact" by Marcel Mauss, we assum that hiring is an exchange which bring in more than the trath subject, here job. Maurice Halbwachs's analysis about individual "value" of a social group's representative, confirmed this problematic. We assum that recruitment produiced its own hierarchies, within the social groups. They still don't meet any instituted model : they are not explained by qualification systems, neither by graduation systems, nor by earned incomes. Hiring is a moment when every classification form is acting simultaneoulsy, without any prevailing one. Through recuitment operations, classification systems realised a sort of symbiosis, which produiced, "in fine", a normative definition of groups in their relation with employment. This research used varied materials : interviews and surveys with managers and wage earners, textual analysis of job offers

Our research has had as its main goal to use the Cognitive Remediation Therapy to help Intellectually Disabled Adults to assume their professional lives. Above all, it is an exploring research, aiming to contribute to the advancement of developmental psychology. Our research is based on our professional experience, both in psychology and neuropsychology: we observe the cognitive deficiencies of the intellectually disabled to enter the working market and there remain. Our sample has been defined following these criterias: lightly or moderate intellectually disabled person between 20 and 45 years old, male or female, with or without insertion project in an ordinary environment and without syndromes or psychiatric troubles associated. We have gone through the following steps before using the Cognitive Remediation Therapy: 1-use of an Intelligence Test; 2- observation in locus of the individual and relational abilities (in pre-test and in post-test) 3- Piaget’s tools evaluation (operating balance sheet in the pre-test and in the post-test to place their evolution). Finally, we have created three different Cognitive Remediation Therapy workshops in the middle of a division we have named DIR (I) (Individual Cognitive Remediation Device). Through all these workshops, we have solicited the highest potential of each individual, aiming a professional insertion. On each session, we have created new situations to help the intellectually disabled discover new strategies to solve different problems. The results we have obtained have proved that not only the Cognitive Remediation Therapy is a meaning to profit on the intellectual potential of the intellectually disabled, to allow them to elaborate systematic conduits, transposable and generalized towards other situations, but it also allows the evolution of their individual competences. The Cognitive Remediation Therapy, through solicitations, has proved to be a meaningful method in the preparation of the intellectually disabled for the professional life

This work accounts for long-term unemployment on the basis of two factors: the assessment of labour quality by firms and labor sorting by unemployment agencies. Our approach shows that in the context of long-term unemployment the assessment of labour quality depends no so much on the convergence of individual efforts around a selection criterion as on the variable mental images associated with the notion of a " skilled " laborer—what we call quality conventions. These vary from firm to firm; they work as principles of inclusion/exclusion. Using the TDE-MLT (DARES) survey, we conducted an econometric study to determine the complex relationships between quality convention and long-term unemployment. Our results suggest that employment policies should be amended

This thesis analyses the confrontation between postal reforms inspired by the new public management, fulfilled in the rationalisation politics of the working activity, and employee professional practices. It studies the stakes, the modalities and the limits of the financial advisers normative work definition. Designated as change agents by the organisation, they must manage the dynamics between market logic and the public services mission which persists through a double language at La Poste. This puts into evidence the professional positioning that is constructed based on the referential norm of the ideal adviser portrayed by the organisation. The latest therefore counts on its young recruits, excepted to be receptive to the new managerial logics. The study of the socialisation process of its potential advisers, registered on individual career paths, allows questioning the homogenisation in the practices and persistence of the social postal model. The approach is based on a territorial comparison (Mediterranean/Parisian region) as well as generational. The combination of several investigation techniques (participative observation within the HR Direction at La Banque Postale, longitudinal panel survey conducted on financial adviser apprentices, monograph of post offices and exploitation of statistic data) allows crossing of biographical paths (personal and career) and the structural elements of employment politics analysis, work, and training at La Poste

Since the LRU law of 2007, the professional integration is part of universities’ mission. Ten years later, the facts show that young graduates face some difficulties. This PhD attempted to explore the resources to innovate in terms of supported integration. The analysis of the existing schemes allowed to identify two potential action areas : prepare students to better meet social expectations and give them access to resources to cope with the ups and downs of the job search. The positive psychology brings together these two aims : positive dimensions are socially valued while at the same time providing a psychological flexibility, useful to face the life events. Our objectives have been to verify wether some positive dimensions are linked to successful integration trajectories, to observe their evolution over time and to identify a Programme of intervention that will allow to develop them. A longitudinal study has been conducted with students close to graduation. A questionnaire enabled us to identify the most significant variables connected to the trajectories : mindfulness, hope, sense and emotional skills. Specific modeling studies confirmed intra-individual variations on these dimensions over time and inter-individual differences in these evolutions. In a second study, a programme of positive psychology has been set up for students. The results confirm the interest of such a scheme to develop the dimensions related to professional integration. From these results, several intervention approaches for universities have been formulated

More and more, researchers in the field of education are acknowledging the hard times that constitute the early years of teaching practice in Québec, and worry about premature leaves of novice teachers. The research here presented seeks to offer a better understanding of this crucial moment of integration in the teaching profession, and to examine the determinants that can influence novices to persevere or to abandon this professional field. To do so, attrition of novice teachers is not only considered as a probable outcome of the insertion process, but as a process on its own, the opposite equivalent of this insertion. By thorough analysis of twenty-two professional trajectories of beginning teachers who have persevered in teaching (eleven trajectories), as well as novices who have chosen to redirect their career during their first in-service years (eleven trajectories), we observed the dominant interrelations between factors inherent to individuals and factors belonging to the education system as a structure that influence the choice to continue or to quit teaching. We found that in many cases, interactions are further driven by individual elements whereas in some other cases, elements of the context, which are independent of the social players, appeared to be the leading force of the decision process. Nevertheless, all the factors involved in the decision-making of the novices we met implied dynamics inherent to both actors and structures. Six types of interrelations have emerged from the study. They show that many elements pertaining to the identity of young teachers, such as career choice and realism of expectations created before and often maintained during pre-service training, the degree of adequacy felt between the novice on one hand and the mandates and the structural organization of education on the other hand, the ways of being and reacting during the early teaching experiences, and the relative importance attached to the field of work versus other fields of life (especially family and children), play important roles in the decision process of some participants regarding their professional teaching project. Concerning the elements of context, employment parameters (time needed to get a stable status), work parameters (working conditions, workloads, mandates, composition of the class) and environment parameters (particularly support received from other staff and principal) also have a noticeable influence on the choices made by the subjects interviewed in regards to continuing in the teaching profession, or leaving it.

"Mobilité géographique des jeunes en insertion professionnelle, entre distance et proximité territoriale : contribution à l'étude de l'impact de la migration sur le rendement salarial et l'attractivité des territoires." This research presents an economic analysis of internal migration from a young workers sample established on the French young population who finished their studies in 1998 (survey “Génération 98” of the Céreq, a French Institute). Spatial mobility is observed as the distance run from their local place at the end of their studies to the local place of the job occupied three years later. The first and last places observed correspond to French local labor market called “Zone d'Emploi”. We study the individual parameters into the migration decision and its consequence on wage. Spatial job search and capital human theories are used to explain migration decision. According to these theories we show that migrants must receive a benefit from migration in order to compensate the migration costs even if migrants entail a negative selection bias. We test this assumption on data and observe that the very high skilled are positively auto-selected and do not receive a benefit specially for migration costs. Although the other young migrants who are negatively auto-selected benefit from migration to compensate their migration costs. This study suggest an additional parameter into the migration decision linked to a spatial proximity effect in destination choice. This is revealed through an aggregate migration model

The difficulties in gaining or returning to employment encountered by the young and the older Spanish and French workers, represent a particularly preoccupying cas of professional exclusion which deserves a great deal of attention. In fact, the shrinking of the active labour force, the reduced birth rate coupled with an increased rate of ageing in the general population and the exclusion of young and older worker from the labour market, are all factors which may increase the risk of producing the fragmentation of the social fabric. Faced with such a situation and given the centrality of work in our societies, the Spanish and French authorities are taking a set of measures designed to facilitate access to employment. Therefore, we propose by means of comparative methodology, to determinate in what and how the above policies and measures adopted by the authorities take part in the fight against the exclusion of young and older workers from the labour market ?

The work basically seeks to describe the school career of Malian graduates in France: their itineraries, the trainings followed and their integration in France in the different spheres of activity. Through our investigations, we intend to demonstrate the existence of a new form of Malian immigration which is the converse of the one known before under its working-class form. The thesis is thus meant to deconstruct the dominating paradigm in terms of the migration of Subsaharan Africans especially Malians. The immigration of Malian graduates is also inscribed within the framework of the qualified immigration issue which gives way to the debate about brain-drain or migration of competences. This implies that the immigration of Malian graduates is not disconnected from the global context of globalization. The latter supposes that job recruitment has become international going beyond simple national borders. Progressively, the need for skilled workers has grown up in many developed countries but this need is difficult to fulfill on the national territory only that is why qualified foreign personnel is recruited. This resort to foreign workers gives birth to great debates in scientific literature as well as in programs on TV and radio. These debates are mainly articulated around two main positions: the nationalists and the internationalists. For the nationalists, the recruitment of qualified workers from developing countries is a form of talents' looting. In fact, by recruiting from the tiny stock of national « elites », this has the risk of endangering the development of poor countries. It is a question of an asymmetric relation between developed and developing countries which is consequently concretized by gain and loss relationships. However, the position of the internationalists is against the dramatization of the phenomenon of brain-drain. The extent of the phenomenon would be exaggerated by the lack of real figures and people have focused more on the Tosses than seeing it as a strategy of follow-up for the stakeholders. Besides, the internationalists have specified that the talents existing in foreign developed countries do not have all the sectors of integration in their countries of origin. These countries should first work to set up better conditions of return. This is what has been noticed with Malian graduates among whom some have received an advanced training in the domain of industrial robotics for instance. In addition, it is revealed that graduates are not that interested in all the debates about brain-drain but they rather see it as a way towards social promotion. We describe in this study, the process of integration of Malian graduates into the job market in France according to the different sectors of activity

Between the 1900s and the 1940s, the concept of professional orientation is built at the confluence of three fields: lay of sponsorships and associations concerned with the placement youth at the end of primary school; education officials are concerned about limited number of apprentices; early psychologists propose the use of testing for the assignment of the labour force. The 1920s were marked by the creation of many offices. Supported by social and professional environments very different, the vocational guidance movement is professionalizes gradually, partly through the creation of the National Institute of vocational guidance (INOP) and professional associations. The 1930s constitute a turning point. The rise of unemployment and the skilled labour needs require a reorganization of the device
