Lemesle, Thomas. "Étude de matrices vitreuses aluminophosphates pour le conditionnement de l'iode radioactif." Thesis, Lille 1, 2013. http://www.theses.fr/2013LIL10065/document.
Full textIodine 129 is a long-lived intermediate level radioactive waste, which is currently managed by isotopic dilution. In view of an alternative management by geological disposal, we aimed at developing phosphate glasses of the AgI-Ag2O-P2O5-Al2O3 system, elaborated at low temperature and without iodine volatilization. Alumina is expected to induce crosslinking of the phosphate network and thus to improve the thermal and chemical properties. To define a glass composition that meets the specifications, we varied the level of iodine, the Ag2O/P2O5 ratio and alumina content. For 1 g.cm-3 of iodine, SEM-EDS observations indicate that alumina solubility is limited to 0.5% mol., independently of Ag2O/P2O5 ratio. The structural study by 31P 27Al and 109Ag MAS NMR, shows that aluminum adopts an octahedral coordination that effectively contributes to the crosslinking of the glassy network and iodine is incorporated without clustering. 31P-27Al NMR correlations confirmed the presence of an aluminophosphate network, and 31P-31P correlations indicate that iodine does not change the connectivity of the glass network. The glass composition 28,8AgI-44,2Ag2O-26,5P2O5-0,5Al2O3 presents the best compromise between the level of incorporation of iodine and the chemical durability, has a glass transition temperature of 123 ° C and an initial alteration rate in pure water at 50 ° C of 6 gm-2.d-1. The long-term behavior of this glass is controlled by a post-alteration structure based on pyrophosphate, which holds nearly 80% of the initial iodine

Full textIn order to treat the technological waste arising from the dismantling of the Marcoule Vitrification facility of the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), conditioning in a cement matrix is being put forward. Within this context, the impact of ionizing radiation produced by the nuclear waste on the confinement matrix ought to be investigated in order to ensure both the integrity of the package and the limitation of the radiolytic gas production. This thesis investigates the behavior of three types of cement compounds with distinct constituents under gamma and electronic radiation. This study deals with both the radiolytic gas production and the physical resistance of the materials using a structural modification examination. A double and complementary approach is used treating cement pastes and synthetic cement compounds together. It clearly appears that the pore water and the hydrates themselves both contribute to the radiolytic hydrogen production, with a significant variation depending on the nature of the materials. As far as radiolysis is concerned, calcium aluminate-based cements and magnesium phosphate cements are of considerable interest in comparison with the usual calcium silicate cements. At very high doses (GGy range), the structural resistance under electron irradiation was evaluated by X-ray diffraction. The constituent hydrates of the three cement types studied exhibit a good structural resistance. Despite the presence of dimensional variations at the unit cell scale as well as microstructural evolution, no amorphization is observed under irradiation, which is an interesting result with respect to the intended industrial application

Full textIn this thesis, we study some symbolic-numeric aspects of the invariant pair problem for matrix polynomials. Invariant pairs extend the notion of eigenvalue-eigenvector pairs, providing a counterpart of invariant subspaces for the nonlinear case. They have applications in the numeric computation of several eigenvalues of a matrix polynomial; they also present an interest in the context of differential systems. Here, a contour integral formulation is applied to compute condition numbers and backward errors for invariant pairs. We then adapt the Sakurai-Sugiura moment method to the computation of invariant pairs, including some classes of problems that have multiple eigenvalues, and we analyze the behavior of the scalar and block versions of the method in presence of different multiplicity patterns. Results obtained via direct approaches may need to be refined numerically using an iterative method: here we study and compare two variants of Newton’s method applied to the invariant pair problem. The matrix solvent problem is closely related to invariant pairs. Therefore, we specialize our results on invariant pairs to the case of matrix solvents, thus obtaining formulations for the condition number and backward errors, and a moment-based computational approach. Furthermore, we investigate the relation between the matrix solvent problem and the triangularization of matrix polynomials
Zarouf, rachid. "Constrained interpolation on nite subsets of the disc." Thesis, Bordeaux 1, 2008. http://www.theses.fr/2008BOR13722/document.
Full textThe thesis is devoted to a "semi-free" interpolation problem in the following way. Let sigma be a finite set of the unit disc D and f an holomorphic function in D which belongs to a certain class X, we search for g in another class Y (smaller than X) which minimize the norm of g in Y among all the functions g such that g=f on the set "sigma". More precisely, we are interested in the following interpolation constant : c(sigma, X, Y ) = sup{ inf{||g||_Y: g=f sur sigma}: ||f||_X<=1}. We study in the thesis the case where Y=H^\infinity and the space of constrains X is chosen among the following spaces: Hardy spaces, weighted Bergman spaces (with radial waights), and holomorphic functions which Taylor coefficients are in lp(w) (w being a weight). The thesis also contains an application to the condition numbers of Toeplitz matrices
Lutique, Stéphanie. "Etude de zirconates de structure pyrochlore en tant que matrice pour la transmutation ou le conditionnement des actinides mineurs." Paris 11, 2003. http://www.theses.fr/2003PA112080.
Full textThe "Bataille" law gives orientations for nuclear waste management optimisation, which includes the partitioning of the most radiotoxic elements (the actinides and some fission products) in order to transmute them into less radiotoxic elements or to store for long term. For both applications a matrix with specific criteria is needed to incorporate the radionuclides. The aim of this work was the study of a potential matrix for the transmutation or the storage of actinides after their partitioning: pyrochlore zirconate, which general formula is A2Zr2O7, where A is a lanthanide or a actinide. A fabrication process was developed leading to the production of neodymium zirconate with a density higher than 95 % of the theoretical density. The method of infiltration of active solution in an inactive precursor permitted to incorporate plutonium and uranium and to produce highly dense pellet with pyrochlore structure and general formula Nd(1,57)[Pu/U](0,43)Zr2O(7+y). Using three calorimetric techniques, the lanthanide zirconate heat capacity was measured in the temperature range [0. 4 -1400 K]. The thermal diffusivity of the neodymium zirconate was determined between 400 and 1400 K and its thermal conductivity was deduced in the same temperature range, yielding to the constant value of 1,33 W. M^(-1). S^(-l). Using this value, the thermal behaviour of a zirconate based fuel was numerically simulated. The radiation resistance of the neodymium zirconate was tested using ion implanted with several energy by accelerator in order to simulate fission products and alpha recoil atoms. Finally He ions were implanted in the matrix and their release was monitored using a Knudsen cell. Basis on all those results, it appears that pyrochlore zirconates could be used as inert matrix for the transmutation only as inclusions in composites. However, a complementary study of the compound behaviour against leaching is needed before to be able to conclude concerning it use as waste form for actinides storage
Fouchet, Karine. "Powers of Blaschke factors and products : Fourier coefficients and applications." Thesis, Aix-Marseille, 2021. http://www.theses.fr/2021AIXM0647.
Full textIn this thesis we first compute asymptotic formulas for Fourier coefficients of the n th-power of a Blaschke factor as n gets large which extend and sharpen known estimates on those coefficients. To perform this study we use standard tools of asymptotic analysis: the so-called method of the stationary phase and the method of the steepest descent. Next as an application of our asymptotic formulas we construct strongly annular functions with Taylor coefficients satisfying sharp summation properties. This allows us to generalize and sharpen results by D.D. Bonar, F.W. Carroll and G. Piranian (1977). Making use of properties of flat polynomials, we also present another construction of such functions built on a theorem by E. Bombieri and J. Bourgain (2009). In another part of the thesis we obtain sharp upper bounds as n gets large, on the sequence (\widehat{B^{n}}(k))_{k\geq0} of the Fourier coefficients of the n th-power of an arbitrary finite Blaschke product B, which we apply in the last part of the thesis to a question raised by J.J. Schäffer (1970) in matrix analysis/operator theory. We also provide constructive examples of finite Blaschke products that achieve our upper bounds. The last chapter is dedicated to the study of the condition numbers of large matrices T\in\mathcal{M}_{n}(\mathbb{C}) with given spectrum acting on a Hilbert space or on a Banach space, espacially for some specific classes of matrices, the so-called Kreiss matrices. In the Banach case, we use our upper bound on (\widehat{B^{n}}(k))_{k\geq0} where B is arbitrary to exhibit matrices with arbitrary given spectrum refuting Schäffer's conjecture

Full textIon exchange resins (IER) are widely used in the nuclear industry to purge non directly storable infected effluents. IER then become a solid waste which could be stored as any classical nuclear waste. One way of conditioning consists in embedding it into a cement paste matrix. This process raises some concerns regarding the cohesiveness of the composite. Once embedded, the IER might indeed interact with the cement paste which would lead, in some cases, to the swelling of the composite. This thesis has been set up to address this potential issue, with the aim to develop a numerical tool able to predict the mechanical behavior of this kind of material. This work only focuses on the long term behavior and more specifically on the potential degradations of the cement paste /IER composite due to cationic IER

Full textIn this work, an original experimental test rig, was developped for the measurement of the two acoustic properties which characterized each component of an automobile Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning system (HVAC) : the passive property represented by the multimodal scattering matrix of the element and the active part described by the cross-spectrum matrix containing the modal acoustic pressures produced by the interaction flow/element. The developed measurement technique is summarized in two steps : - Simultaneous measurement of the multimodal scattering matrix of the element and the reflection matrix of the extremities in the presence of flow by the multi-source method. - Measurement of the inter-microphone matrix at four cross-sections and estimation of the source cross-spectrum matrix. The validation of the developped measurement procedure was performed on a hard walled straight duct and then with a loudspeak flush mounted to the wall of the duct. The procedure was subsequently applied on a diaphragm and a portion of the HVAC evaporator for different inclinations. The results are then compared with those from numerical simulation for the case without flow and a very good agreement was found. The effect of the flow on the scattering matrix coefficients has been pointed out and i twas shown that increasing the angle of inclination of the evaporator increases the upstream and downstream total acoustic power levels produced by the flow/evaporator interaction
