L’équipe cobotique du MAP-Aria a développé un dispositif de prototypage robotique à petite échelle visant à exacerber les dimensions tactile et proprioceptive de l’expérience de conception. Nous programmons et expérimentons des protocoles de fabrication additive mis en orbite dans une boucle feedback en tant que capture analogique sur l’environnement par un robot 6-axes modifiant pas à pas la trajectoire du système. De ce « machine behavior » résulte un « design behavior » à travers la mise au point d’instruments haptiques et la production d’objets en série. Le processus de conception intègre alors dès ses premières itérations une perception approfondie des écarts et des résonances entre objets numériques simulés et artefacts physiques fabriqués. Navigant entre nécessité de simulation située et volonté de fiction, la mise en oeuvre de schèmes technologiques ouverts à la reprogrammation et à l’indétermination rencontre les activités fécondes de bricolage et d’improvisation, de spatialisation et de fabulation propres au moment de conception.

Cet article examine les processus de sélections des cadres expatriés. Dans une approche interactionniste symbolique, nous montrons comment au sein d’une dynamique entre « auto » et « exo » identités, les représentations identitaires stéréotypées participent à la construction d’une « identité attribuée », qui servira au fondement rationnel d’une décision d’affectation vouée à l’échec. Enfin, selon une approche centrée sur l’individu, nous montrons que la possibilité d’une affectation à l’international agissait de façon prédominante comme une promesse implicite d’une carrière réussie. Ainsi, d’une conception de trajectoire « prométhéenne », le cadre finalement expatrié, fera l’expérience des multiples phases d’un parcours « protéen ».

Notre objectif vise à donner une épaisseur historique aux cultures numériques, en les reliant à quelques moments remarquables de l’histoire, en les replaçant dans un contexte plus large. Ceci nous permet de contribuer à la compréhension des instrumentations numériques de l’architecture, à leurs acceptations et finalement à leurs appropriations créatives. Notre article est organisé en trois chapitres, nous considérons la naissance de l’automatisme du calcul, la naissance de l’ordinateur et l’émergence de l’architecture numérique. La généalogie que nous construisons nous donne à voir une trajectoire historique et contribue à penser, imaginer et concevoir nos outils contemporains.

Il abordera également les résistances rencontrées face aux propositions de déconstruction d’une conception hétéronormative des familles encore agissante, mais aussi les perspectives de diffusion de ces interventions.

Nutrient interventions initiated after conception tend to have modest effects on maternal nutritional status and pregnancy outcomes. Thus, we compared the association between micronutrient intakes and the trajectories of their biomarkers before and during pregnancy. Data from a randomized trial of the effect of a nutrient-rich, food-based supplement given to 317 Vietnamese women prior to or during pregnancy on birth outcomes were used to assess nutrient intakes with biomarker trajectories of zinc, iron, folate, cobalamin, and vitamin A using linear mixed regression models. The circulating plasma or serum trajectories of all five micronutrients were associated to their baseline levels (p < 0.0001). Plasma zinc trajectories were also related to farm work (p = 0.024). Cobalamin and vitamin A trajectories were associated with gestational weight gain (p = 0.003 and p = −0.037, respectively). In this population of rural Vietnamese women, nutrient intakes during pregnancy did not affect biomarker trajectories. The primary determinant of each nutrient biomarker trajectory was its respective baseline level prior to conception.

D’abord, il analyse des aspects de sa trajectoire intellectuelle, Mai 68 et ses recherches dans les archives ouvrières, qui ont nourri l’écriture de La nuit des prolétaires et l’ont amené à rompre avec les postulats de Louis Althusser sur les rapports entre savoir et politique. Ensuite, Rancière aborde la réception du Maître ignorant , marquée par la méconnaissance de la conception de l’émancipation intellectuelle de Joseph Jacotot et de la relation entre théorie et pratique. Dans la discussion de l’article « École, production, égalité », le philosophe souligne l’importance de la temporalité dans son travail et questionne la capacité qu’aurait aujourd’hui l’école à promouvoir l’égalité et le loisir, puisqu’elle se rapproche de plus en plus des logiques de hiérarchisation. À la fin, une réflexion sur le présent : la pandémie du coronavirus et la montée de l’extrême droite, marquée par la passion de l’inégalité.

This paper seeks to evaluate the conception of rural women’s work evident in the trajectory of development policy in India. It argues that the feature of self-initiated or voluntary participation in development for women is not restricted to the period of structural adjustment. Its antecedents lie within earlier conceptions of national development and women’s role within it which is consistently characterised by a reliance on voluntarism on the part of unspecified community actors. Thus, while the shifting of the onus of women’s development from community voluntarism to small group voluntarism is an important feature of the contemporary period, it does, at another level, extend the trajectory of state policy that has failed to take central responsibility for working women in rural India. Parallel to the shifts in the conception of the rural woman as a receptacle of policy to a consumer of development initiatives through the post-Independence decades is thus the persistence of a half-baked notion of the rural working woman.

With the development of location-based services, such as the Global Positioning System and Radio Frequency Identification, a great deal of trajectory data can be collected. Therefore, how to mine knowledge from these data has become an attractive topic. In this paper, we propose an efficient trajectory-clustering algorithm based on an index tree. Firstly, an index tree is proposed to store trajectories and their similarity matrix, with which trajectories can be retrieved efficiently; secondly, a new conception of trajectory structure is introduced to analyse both the internal and external features of trajectories; then, trajectories are partitioned into trajectory segments according to their corners; furthermore, the similarity between every trajectory segment pairs is compared by presenting the structural similarity function; finally, trajectory segments are grouped into different clusters according to their location in the different levels of the index tree. Experimental results on real data sets demonstrate not only the efficiency and effectiveness of our algorithm, but also the great flexibility that feature sensitivity can be adjusted by different parameters, and the cluster results are more practically significant.

En cas de panne moteur durant le décollage d'un avion, il existe une vitesse jusqu'à laquelle l'avion peut freiner. Au-delà de cette vitesse, l'avion est obligé de poursuivre le décollage le long de la trajectoire SID (Standard Instrument Departure) malgré la perte de poussée induite par la panne. Les paramètres de décollage doivent être choisis de façon à assurer la sécurité de l'avion dans chacune de ces deux situations. En terrain montagneux, les contraintes d'obstacles peuvent sévèrement pénaliser la masse maximale admissible au décollage de l'avion (MMD). Il est alors possible d'utiliser une trajectoire alternative, l'EOSID (Engine Out SID) dont la trace au sol est différente de la SID. Elle n'est utilisée qu'en cas de panne moteur et survole un relief moins pénalisant. Cela permet de réduire les contraintes réglementaires de passage des obstacles en cas de panne moteur et d'augmenter la masse de l'avion au décollage. La conception d'une EOSID est un processus itératif, réalisé manuellement au sol et nécessitant l'usage de plusieurs outils informatiques différents. L'objectif de cette thèse est de formaliser et d'automatiser ce processus afin d'améliorer la qualité de la trajectoire obtenue et de réduire la charge de travail nécessaire à sa conception. Pour ce faire, le processus de conception a été analysé puis modélisé sous la forme d'un problème d'optimisation dont l'objectif est de maximiser la MMD, tout en conservant une trajectoire suffisamment simple. Une méthode d'estimation de la complexité de la trajectoire a donc été définie puis intégrée avec la masse au sein d'un critère unique. Le problème est ensuite résolu à l'aide d'un algorithme génétique ad hoc<br>In case of engine failure during aircraft takeoff, there is a speed until which the aircraft can still break to abort the takeoff (Rejected takeoff procedure). Above this speed, the aircraft shall continue the takeoff along the SID trajectory (Standard Instrument Departure) despite the lack of thrust caused by the engine failure. The takeoff parameters must be chosen so that the security of the aircraft is guaranteed in both situations. In mountainous landscape, the obstacle clearance constraints can severely penalise the maximum takeoff weight of the aircraft. In this situation, it is possible to use an alternate trajectory: the EOSID (Engine Out Standard Instrument Departure). The ground track of the EOSID is different from the SID. This trajectory, which is only used in case of engine failure, flies over a relief that is less penalizing. This allows to reduce the regulatory obstacle clearance constraints in engine failure case and to increase the aircraft takeoff weight. The conception of an EOSID is an iterative manual on-ground process that needs several softwares. The aim of this thesis is to formulate and automate this process so as to improve the trajectory quality and to reduce the conception workload. In this aim, the conception process has been analysed and modelled as an optimization problem the objective of which is to maximise the maximum takeoff weight and to minimize the trajectory complexity. A trajectory complexity estimation method has hence been defined and integrated along with the weight within a single criterion. Then the problem is solved with a genetic algorithm that has been developed specifically to handle the trajectory definition format

L'objectif de cette thèse est d'étendre l'utilisation des modèles de calcul de la dynamique du véhicule en proposant de nouvelles méthodologies inspirées du domaine de la planification de mouvements. Les modèles de dynamique du véhicule que nous considérons sont de nature industrielle : ils sont complexes, non linéaires et disponibles en règle générale sous forme de boîte noire uniquement. Ils sont utilisés traditionnellement avec des techniques de simulations qui partent d'une définition précise d'un état de départ et des sollicitations venant du conducteur. Les méthodes que nous proposons visent à prendre en compte une description plus "réelle" de la manoeuvre ou du test qu'effectue le véhicule : un certain domaine initial dont part le véhicule, un couloir à suivre sans sortir des limites, et un domaine d'arrivée. Outre la recherche d'une solution à ce problème de réalisation d'une certaine manoeuvre, on traite également les deux problèmes suivants : produire un échantillon représentatif de l'ensemble des manières de réaliser la man÷uvre ; trouver la valeur limite d'un paramètre (par exemple la vitesse initiale) au-delà de laquelle il n'y a plus de solution. Différentes techniques ont été mises en oeuvre avec succès, citons notamment : des méthodes exploratoires, un outil de contrôle optimal et un algorithme modifié de déformation de trajectoire. Ces outils génériques sont tous capables de s'adapter sans peine à toutes sortes de véhicules ou d'obstacles. Chacun présente cependant des avantages et des contraintes spécifiques. Ces méthodes ont été appliquées aux cas particuliers de manoeuvres standardisées de véhicules de tourisme. Les méthodes proposées permettent de déterminer de manière robuste et cohérente les limites physiques des véhicules sur ces tests.

De nos jours les places de parking sont devenues étroites dans les grandes villes. Un parking totalement automatique répondant aux contraintes de commercialisation améliorerait le confort et la sécurité de l’utilisateur. Ces travaux portent sur la génération de trajectoires de parking fonctionnant de manière prévisible et sans optimisations successives. Deux solutions géométriques fondées sur des arcs de cercles ont été développées. L’une consiste à se placer proche de la place et à faire des allers-retours jusqu’à être garé. L’autre est une méthode « inversée » généralisée dans laquelle le véhicule est supposé garé, fait plusieurs manœuvres pour atteindre l’emplacement initial réel du véhicule, ce qui donne la trajectoire à inverser pour effectuer le parking. L’inconvénient de ces méthodes est le braquage à l’arrêt. Pour que les trajectoires créées soient à courbure continue, nous avons combiné la simplicité des méthodes géométriques avec les avantages des courbes à courbure continue en travaillant avec des clothoïdes. Ainsi, chaque arc de cercle de la trajectoire générée géométriquement est a posteriori transformé en une séquence clothoïde, arc de cercle facultatif, clothoïde. Cette méthode nécessite un faible temps de calcul, est prévisible et permet de réaliser un contrôle très simple en boucle ouverte pour la vitesse longitudinale et l’angle de braquage en fonction de la distance parcourue. Des expériences sur véhicule prototype ont été réalisées pour la manœuvre de parking complète. Les résultats ont montré que la boucle ouverte suffisait lorsque peu de manœuvres étaient nécessaires. Nous avons également mis en place une méthode de régénération de la trajectoire garantissant le parking sans danger même si des déviations par rapport à la trajectoire initiale apparaissent lorsque plus de manœuvres sont nécessaires. Enfin, une architecture fonctionnelle globale comprenant un superviseur a été également décrite pour la manœuvre complète de parking<br>Nowadays, in big cities, the parking spots have become narrow. Totally autonomous parking, with commercial constraints, would improve comfort and security of the driver. This work is about predictable generation of parking trajectories, without successive optimizations. Two geometric solutions based on arcs of circle have been developed. The first consist on placing the vehicle near the parking spot and going forward and backward until the vehicle is parked. The second is a generalized “inverse” method: the vehicle is supposed parked, the maneuvers to reach the real initial pose of the vehicle are found and produce the trajectory to inverse to perform the parking. The disadvantage of these methods is the steering at stop. To produce continuous-curvature trajectories, we have combined the simplicity of the geometric methods with continuous-curvature curves by using clothoids. Each arc of circle of the trajectory created by a geometric method is transformed into a sequence clothoid, optional arc of circle, clothoid. This method is not time consuming, predictable and allows a simple open-loop control for the longitudinal speed and the steering angle, in function of the travelled distance. Experiments on a prototype vehicle showed that the open-loop control is sufficient when few maneuvers are needed. We have also set up a regeneration method for the trajectory to guarantee a parking without danger even when deviations appear compared to the initial trajectory, when more maneuvers are needed. Finally, a global functional architecture with a supervisor has been described for the complete parking maneuver

Ce travail est dédié au contrôle non linéaire d'un drone de type quadricoptère dont la spécificité est de pouvoir voler aussi bien que se déplacer en glissant sur le sol, à la façon d'un aéroglisseur. Dans un contexte d'exploration autonome de bâtiment, ce concept hybride permet d'économiser les batteries lorsqu'il n'est pas nécessaire de voler puisque le drone profite des surfaces planes pour se déplacer sans avoir à compenser la gravité ; il peut ainsi prolonger l'autonomie au-delà de la vingtaine de minutes typique d'un quadricoptère classique. Contrairement aux véhicules terrestres à roues, les capacités de franchissement de notre drone sont fortement augmentées car son aptitude au vol l'autorise à éviter les obstacles, à changer d'étage ou passer par une fenêtre. L'étude menée ici concerne essentiellement le déplacement surfacique de ce drone hybride, et vise à concevoir et implémenter une loi de contrôle capable d'asservir ce système sur des trajectoires planes au sol. Ce drone terrestre est similaire à un système sous actionné de type glisseur ; le problème de la stabilisation en un point est donc distingué du suivi de trajectoire en raison de la condition de Brockett que ce système ne satisfait pas ; notre plateforme ne peut donc pas être stabilisée par des retours d'états continus. En s'appuyant sur la littérature, cette thèse propose différentes approches théoriques en temps variant, fonctions transverses, platitude ou encore par "Backstepping" pour répondre à ces problèmes. Après une phase d'identification du modèle dynamique employé, la partie expérimentale, exploitant un système de Motion Capture pour récupérer les informations de position et d'orientation du système, valide ces lois de contrôle et de commande pour le suivi d'une trajectoire circulaire simple<br>This thesis is dedicated to the non-linear control of a special hybrid quadrotor which is able to fly, and slide on the ground like an hovercraft. In the context of an autonomous indoor exploration this hybrid concept allows saving energy when flying is not necessary, since the drone can then slide on the ground without having to compensate for the gravity; autonomy can last beyond the 20 minutes typical of a standard quadrotor. Contrarily to wheeled mobile robots, the hybrid drone ability to move across space is strongly increased since it can fly to avoid obstacles, to move between two levels, to get in through a window. The study under consideration is essentially focused on the displacement of the drone on the ground and aims at designing and implementing a control law so that our system is able to track a 2D xy plane trajectory. This terrestrial quadrotor is similar to a slider underactuated vehicle. The point stabilisation is then separately studied from the trajectory tracking issue because of the Brockett condition, which is not satisfied in that case; our platform cannot be stabilized by means of continuous state feedbacks. This thesis proposes different theoretical developments based on the literature and deriving from time varying control laws, transverse functions, flatness or backstepping techniques to solve both point stabilisation and trajectory tracking. The experimental part of the thesis is based on the recovering of the drone position in real time and orientation via a Motion Capture system for feedback loop in the control law; the proposed dynamical model was validated as well as the control and command laws for the tracking of a circular trajectory

Ce mémoire aborde trois des principaux aspects de la problématique associée à la robotique mobile: la perception de l'environnement, la représentation virtuelle de l'environnement et la planification de trajectoire. Plus spécifiquement, ces trois aspects sont considérés pour un robot marcheur. Puisque les capacités de déplacement supplémentaires de ce robot sont directement associées au relief du sol, les éléments présentés dans ce mémoire considèrent uniquement la topographie du terrain se trouvant devant le robot.
Pour la première partie, on présente de façon détaillée la conception et le développement d'un capteur basé sur un système de vision stéréoscopique binoculaire actif. La deuxième partie présente une méthode de représentation virtuelle de l'environnement de type surface d'élévation. Enfin, la troisième partie présente l'implantation d'un algorithme de planification de trajectoire basé sur la méthode conventionnelle suivant les contours d'obstacles polygonaux. Finalement, on présente plusieurs résultats de simulation permettant d'évaluer la performance globale des systèmes développés.

Cette thèse propose d'intégrer les principes de la micro-robotique dans un laboratoire sur puce afin d'améliorer les performances du tri cellulaire par diélectrophorèse. Contrôler la trajectoire des cellules dans une puce fluidique en temps réel nécessite de reconcevoir la puce, la modéliser et développer des lois de commande dédiées au contrôle en temps réel. Concernant la conception, cette thèse s’intéresse au compromis existant entre la vitesse de tri et les problématiques de suivi des cellules en temps réel. Une architecture originale basée sur deux plans d’électrodes, sur les faces supérieures et inférieures des canaux, est proposée. Des procédés de fabrication dédiés à cette architecture sont développés. En particulier, la fabrication d'électrodes transparentes et l'assemblage des deux réseaux d'électrodes parallèles sont étudiés. Concernant la modélisation, une formulation analytique du champ électrique découplant variables de commande, termes dépendant de la position de l’objet et termes dépendant uniquement de la géométrie de la puce est proposée afin de calculer rapidement et précisément la force de diélectrophorèse. Une analyse de l'anisotropie des forces de frottement présentes à proximité des électrodes vient compléter la modélisation dynamique du comportement des microparticules, et donne lieu à un modèle compatible avec la commande temps réel, validé expérimentalement sur des objets artificiels. Controlling the trajectory of cells in a fluidic chip in real time requires redesigning the chip, modeling it and developing control laws dedicated to real-time control. Concerning the design, this thesis is interested in the compromise existing between the speed of sorting and the problems of cell tracking in real time. An original architecture based on two electrode planes, on the upper and lower faces of the channels, is proposed. Manufacturing processes dedicated to this architecture are developed. In particular, the manufacture of transparent electrodes and the assembly of the two parallel electrode arrays are studied. Concerning the modeling, an analytical formulation of the electric field uncoupling control variables, terms depending on the position of the object and terms depending solely on the geometry of the chip is proposed in order to quickly and accurately calculate the dielectrophoresis force. An analysis of the anisotropy of the friction forces present near the electrodes completes the dynamic modeling of the behavior of the microparticles, and gives rise to a model compatible with real-time control, validated experimentally on artificial objects. Finally, a controller based on optimization techniques and a trajectory planner are proposed for cell sorting. A simulator is developed and highlights the good sorting performance of such a system. L'automatisation du travail des thérapeutes, la réduction de leur charge de travail et la diversification des exercices pour les patients est un atout par rapport aux outils existants sur le marché tels que les tapis roulants ou les allées instrumentées pour la réadaptation. La conception d'une interface de locomotion pour la simulation de la marche présente des défis en terme de performance et de stabilité du mécanisme, de même que pour assurer la sécurité de l'utilisateur. L'équilibre de l'utilisateur doit être préservé grâce à une interaction humain-robot souple durant la phase d'élancement du pied et une sensation de rigidité lors de la phase d'appui. Dans un premier temps, la thèse présente le mouvement de la marche humaine pour trois types de milieux, c'est-à-dire la marche au sol, la marche d'escalier ascendante et la marche d'escalier descendante. Entre autres, le chapitre 1 cible les points essentiels de la cinématique et de la dynamique des membres inférieurs afin d'établir les exigences physiques pour la conception de la plateforme de marche. Le chapitre 2 introduit l'architecture mécanique de l'interface de locomotion basé sur deux systèmes indépendants de courroies déplaçant les deux effecteurs dans les translations horizontale et verticale, correspondant au plan sagittal dans lequel la majeure partie du mouvement de marche s'effectue. L'architecture du routage de courroies découple les degrés de liberté et simplifie ainsi la commande de la plateforme en séparant chaque degré de liberté en système indépendant. Cette architecture augmente également le rendement des efforts articulaires transmis aux effecteurs comparativement à un système dont les degrés de liberté sont co-dépendants. La thèse introduit ensuite la commande mise en place pour l'interaction entre le mécanisme et l'opérateur. Les exigences cinématiques et dynamiques diffèrent selon la phase d'élancement et la phase d'appui de la marche. Ainsi, le chapitre 3 présente la stratégie mise en place dans la direction horizontale pour minimiser les forces d'interaction entre l'utilisateur et l'effecteur. La commande en force permet, dans un premier temps, de diminuer l'inertie apparente de l'effecteur ressentie par l'utilisateur. Par la suite, un mécanisme passif à câbles est utilisé en tant qu'interface pour réduire davantage l'impédance ressentie du système. Le chapitre 4, quant à lui, décrit la stratégie mise en place pour gérer la phase d'appui de la marche afin de générer la contrainte rigide nécessaire à la simulation du sol virtuel. Le chapitre introduit la commande pour générer la limite virtuelle ainsi que la mise en place du système d'équilibrage statique à ressort à gaz pour diminuer le travail des moteurs et supporter le poids de la personne. The aim of the mechanism is to alleviate the workload of therapists by automating the repetitive movements involved in the rehabilitation exercises. Moreover, by offering a larger panel of exercises, the locomotion interface should be an asset compared to standard treadmills or rehabilitation walkways. Walking simulation is a challenge in terms of performance, power and safety since the mechanism includes the user in the workspace of the effectors. The balance of the user should be ensured during the swing phase with a reduced human-robot interaction and reliable during the stance phase. First, Chapter 1 describes the walking motion, the stair climbing up and down movement and highlights their main kinematic and dynamic features. Chapter 2 then introduces the architecture of the locomotion interface based on independent belt routings which transmit the movement to two end-effectors that carry the user. Each foot platform has two degrees of freedom (dofs) corresponding to the horizontal and vertical translations in the sagittal plane. Decoupling the dofs simplifies the control of the locomotion interface and increases the efficiency of the torque of the motor sent to the end-effectors compared to systems with co-dependent degrees-of-freedom. Then, the thesis presents the strategies used to supervise the human-robot interaction. The kinematic and dynamic requirements are different during the swing phase and the stance phase of the human gait. Therefore, Chapter 3 introduces the force controllers that lighten the apparent inertia of the mechanism as well as the additional mechanism based on passive cables in order to further alleviate the impedance of the effector. Chapter 4 presents the controller that generates the vertical virtual constraint in order to produce the required reliable floor during the stance phase. The rendering of the virtual environment is improved with the implementation of a static balancing system based on gas springs that alleviates the workload of the motors that handle the weight of the user. Finally, Chapter 5 introduces the cancellation algorithm that generates the infinite environment. Horizontally, the user is brought backward such as on a treadmill. Vertically, the user is moved in the opposite direction of his/her movement such as in a reversed escalator.

Les systèmes avancés d'assistance à la conduite automobile ont comme objectif d'apporter de l'intelligence au véhicule en l'équipant d'un ensemble de capteurs extéroceptifs et proprioceptifs. L'approche classique consiste à doter le véhicule de capacités de perception pour lui permettre de connaître son environnement sans interaction intelligente avec cet environnement. Cette approche dite autonome a montré cependant des limites liées à la portée et à la précision des capteurs utilisés. Le grand développement et l'évolution rapide dans le domaine des télécommunications sans fil ont rendu possible de re-penser le modèle de conduite automobile en introduisant la notion de coopération entre les véhicules. Le travail de standardisation d'un protocole de communication est en cours d'élaboration mais le succès de l'introduction de cette technologie dans le domaine véhiculaire est fortement corrélé à la mise en oeuvre de services et d'applications réalistes et à forte valeur ajoutée pour l'utilisateur final. L'établissement d'une liste d'applications réalistes requiert un soin particulier surtout que les applications proposées dans la littérature ne sont pas actuellement réalisables techniquement et leur acceptabilité par le grand public n'est pas encore établie ni garantie. Pour combler ce manque, nous avons essayé à travers cette thèse de nous focaliser sur la conception de nouveaux systèmes coopératifs d'assistance à la conduite pour l'amélioration de la sécurité routière. Le but de la thèse est de prouver la faisabilité des applications coopératives avec le matériel de communication existant et d'étudier l'apport de cette technologie dans la prévention des collisions entre les véhicules. Le travail réalisé pendant la thèse couvre un domaine très large. D'abord, nous proposons une architecture de communication sans fil basée sur la norme 802.11 et nous étudions à travers des campagnes de test l'adéquation de cette architecture avec les exigences des applications coopératives en termes de portée, de débit et de latence. Sur la base de cette architecture et après une étude statistique des accidents sur les routes, nous avons expérimenté notre système dans deux types d'applications dans lesquelles la coopération peut avoir une valeur ajoutée par rapport au système autonome : - La prévention de risque à l'approche d'une intersection - L'assistance lors d'un changement de voie Pour chacun de ces deux scénarios, nous avons mis en application un système de prédiction et de prévention de risque de collision entre les véhicules à travers des tests réels sur la plateforme expérimentale de véhicules intelligents LaRA.

Ces travaux de thèse portent sur la conception, la modélisation et la planification de mouvements d'un système robotique destiné à réséquer une tumeur cérébrale. La définition des contraintes liées à la tâche de résection de tumeur (adaptabilité aux différentes formes de tumeurs et espace de travail restreint et évolutif) met en évidence la problématique liée à la conception du robot et à sa stratégie de résection. La conception modulaire retenue utilise des câbles et dispose de sept degrés de liberté. Une modélisation géométrique de la solution est proposée. La planification de trajectoire du robot redondant dans un environnement dynamique qui dépend de sa trajectoire est basée sur un principe de génération interactive. Elle utilise un découplage des degrés de liberté du robot et définit des procédures élémentaires qui pourront être choisies et assemblées par le neurochirurgien. Une méthode par discrétisation est proposée pour déterminer l'espace des procédures adaptées au robot et limiter le choix du chirurgien aux procédures effectivement réalisables. Une simulation montre que la solution robotique associée à la méthode interactive de génération de trajectoire permet de réséquer une grande partie d'une tumeur témoin, et la réalisation d'un démonstrateur offre des perspectives d'expérimentations en conditions simulées.

Le contrôle de flammes multi-jets est étudié dans cette thèse et appliqué à des oxy-brûleurs à jets séparés d’Air Liquide. Le procédé de contrôle en question consiste à dévier un jet gazeux axisymmétrique par une injection transverse du même gaz. Un actionneur a été spécifiquement conçu à l'MFT pour réaliser cette injection et provoquer des déviations de jet de forte amplitude. L’aérodynamique de l’écoulement d’un injecteur à deux jets, équipés de ces actionneurs, a été étudiée expérimentalement et numériquement. Deux configurations différentes ont montré la capacité des actionneurs à améliorer le mélange des réactifs et contrôler la trajectoire globale de l’écoulement. Les visualisations expérimentales et les mesures par anémométrie à fil chaud coïncident avec les résultats du calcul LES, obtenus avec le code AVBP. Des calculs réactifs d’une configuration à trois jets ont aussi été menés ; comparés à des résultats expérimentaux du CORIA, ils montrent l’effet de l'ncidence des jets sur la structure de flamme et prouvent la capacité de la LES à capturer ces phénomènes. Au niveau industriel, un brûleur pilote de 1 MW a été équipé avec les actionneurs conçus à l'MFT. Les tests de ce brûleur ont prouvé l’efficacité des actionneurs pour orienter les transferts thermiques de la flamme vers une charge et ont aussi mis en évidence une augmentation nette du rendement thermique de ce brûleur par rapport à une configuration non-actionnée. En conséquence, le système et le procédé de contrôle à l’aide d’actionneurs ont été brevetés.

AbstractThe concepts of pahlawan (hero) and korban (victim) are central to the contest over history in post-Suharto Indonesia. The first of these concepts, pahlawan, is derived from the Persian term pahlavan meaning ‘champion’. While neither the Indonesian nor the Persian term is exclusively limited to use in the context of military action, the associated connotations of strength and bravery tend to foreground a militaristic conception of heroism at the expense of contributions in other fields. In Indonesia, the state has historically been one of the key promoters of this militaristic conception of heroism. Indeed, by establishing days of commemoration such as Hari Pahlawan (Heroes Day) and official titles such as Pahlawan Nasional (National Hero), the state has ensured that the concept of the hero who defends Indonesia from internal or external threats to its security has remained a conspicuous feature of official discourse about the nation’s past.

AbstractThe study of traditional marine stakeholders, such as small-scale fishers in the Mediterranean, represents a site of a changing seascape. This is characterized by impeding factors of the past but also a possibility for improved future trajectories. Small-scale fisheries (SSF) have played a crucial socio-economic role in the Mediterranean for decades, and they continue to comprise over 80% of the fishing fleets and provide direct and indirect economic contributions to coastal communities. Their contribution to blue economy has so far been described as low, but this is largely due to a narrow conception both of benefits to be drawn from the development of maritime sectors (which have focused strongly on economic growth) and types of innovation that are capable of supporting the transition to sustainability (which have overlooked social innovation). This chapter outlines the multi-scale contributions of the small-scale fisheries and presents innovative approaches of the sector towards the markets, both of which support the inclusion of SSF in the blue economy sector. The chapter focuses on key instances of recently developed initiatives by the SSF across the Mediterranean with impacts on the supply chain and the marketing of their products. We argue that these market interventions contribute to the ultimate governance objectives, and challenge the conception of SSF as a non-innovative sector. We propose that a richer engagement with the blue economy paradigm supports the perception of the SSF as a prospective sector, to match the promotion of aquaculture among others.

In this paper we present a novel planar structure of a snake-like robot. This structure enables passive locomotion in snake-like robots through an auxiliary link in joint and a torsional spring. Dynamic equations are derived, using Gibbs-Appell method. Kinematic model of the robot include numerous non-holonomic constraints, which can be omitted at the beginning by choosing proper coordinates to describe the model in Gibbs-Appell framework. In such a case, dynamic equations will be significantly simplified, resulting in significant reduction of simulation time. Simulation results show that, by proper selecting initial conditions, joint angles operate in a limit cycle and robot can locomote steadily on a passive trajectory. It can be seen that the passive trajectory is approximately a Serpenoid curve.

Especially, because the manufacturing trajectories have a influence on the physical phenomena during the process, they have also a strong impact on the quality of the produced parts in terms of geometry. In this paper, the choice of manufacturing trajectories and their impacts on the final shape and quality of the parts is integrated into a global Design For Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) methodology which allows to move from functional specifications of a design problem to a proposition of an adapted part for AM processes.

The procedure of calibration of IMU sensors is a very challenging and time consuming task. In order to simplify this process a proposition of an automatic station for IMU calibration is presented in this paper. The use of industrial robot allows for unlimited test trajectory design with high precision reference data. In the article a test stand based on the industrial Mitsubishi RV3 robot is presented. The preliminary test included series of movements of ADIS 16354 6DOF IMU sensor mounted on the robot header. The data gained simultaneously from the IMU sensor and the the robot header trajectory were recorded with the PC. Next, the obtained sets of data in the time domain were translated to the unified coordinates and compared. Finally the differences betwen information comming from both sources were calculated and sensor gyro drift was estimated. The results presented in the the paper show that assumed conception makes it possible to determine the drift of the gyroscope in dynamic conditions.

In this paper, we revisit, explore and extend the Particle Trajectory Sonification (PTS) model, which supports cluster analysis of high-dimensional data by probing a model space with virtual particles which are ‘gravitationally’ attracted to a mode of the dataset’s potential function. The particles’ kinetic energy progression of as function of time adds directly to a signal which constitutes the sonification. The exponential increase in computation power since its conception in 1999 enables now for the first time to investigate real-time interactivity in such complex interweaved dynamic sonification models. We speeded up the computation of the PTS model with (i) data optimization via vector quantization, and (ii) parallel computing via OpenCL. We investigated the performance of sonifying high-dimensional complex data under different approaches. The results show a substantial increase in speed when applying vector quantization and parallelism with CPU. GPU parallelism provided a substantial speedup for very large number of particles comparing to using CPU but did not show enough benefit for a low number of particles due to copying overhead. A hybrid OpenCL implementation is presented to maximize the benefits of both worlds.

One of the main goals of modern manufacturing systems lies in attaining more flexibility and reutilization capabilities with lower costs. This paper presents the development of a proposal for the design and development of mechatronic modules to use on the mounting of robot manipulators based on the concept of “agent”, which is largely employed in informatics systems. We first describe the main features of this research project, after focusing on its current development stage, which regards the conception of a general methodology for trajectory planning of modular robotic systems. The proposed solution is evaluated and validated by means of a case study focused on robots with pneumatic actuators. In this case study, the structure of a modular pneumatic Cartesian robot and its main characteristics (kinematic chain, workspace, etc.) is developed under modular agent concepts. Using a proposed task to be performed by the manipulator, a working path is defined by means of cubic spline interpolation curves, and an objective function for the optimization problem is written so as to minimize the movement time between the beginning and the end of the trajectory. The proposed optimization problem is numerically solved based on the use of the Firefly Metaheuristic Algorithm and, finally, the trajectory planning curves obtained by means of this strategy are presented and discussed.

The Cheng Cycle gas turbine has enjoyed its 25th anniversary since its conception. More than 100 sites around the world including the United States, Japan, Australia, Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands have used the Cheng Cycle. A chronology will be presented in this paper which will highlight the steps taken to develop the fully automated, load following power and cogeneration system. The Cheng cycle operates with a steam to air ratio trajectory that has its highest “peak efficiency” at the onset of a turbine’s operation. The peak efficiency point was coined as the Cheng point by Dr. Urbach [ref.1] of the US Navy’s David Taylor Research Center. Many thermodynamic and professional textbooks refer to the original Dual Fluid Cycle as the Cheng Cycle. Besides the high efficiency feature, the Cheng Cycle is mechanically simple and flexible in operation. It can put power on line faster than a combined cycle, and it has extremely clean emissions at low cost. The future performance of the Advanced Cheng Cycle will also be projected.

Digitally networked platforms are transforming interpersonal relations and the occupation of urban space, including how home and the domestic are understood and enacted. Despite a rhetoric of openness, neutrality and sharing, the penetration of digital platforms into the domain of architecture is resulting in increased individualization and financialization—extending the managerial logic of late capitalism deeper into the domestic sphere. On one hand, the networks of this platform capitalism—from Uber to Airbnb and beyond—allow a distributed, fluid mode of exchange, fostering forms of flux and openness that exceed the comparatively-static models that preceded them. By altering patterns of interaction, consumption, travel, and more, digital sharing platforms are re-shaping the way private and public spaces are conceived and used for work, leisure, and living. On the other hand, this fluidity is too often accompanied by a dissolution of stability and mutual obligation, leading to precarious forms of life. In the process, the centralized model of domesticity ebbs in favour of a decentralization of domestic space—pushing domesticity beyond the bounds of the individual domicile into collective and urban space. The nine theses of this paper comprise a call for a critical re-evaluation of the trajectories of distributed domesticity—examining both historic experiments and contemporary digitally-networked permutations. The theses are a foray into the realm of platform domesticity: excavating new trajectories from both platform and domestic to inform future models of ‘home.’ To do so, the paper traces three independent but overlapping trajectories in the decentralization of domestic space: the austere dwelling, the collective dwelling, and the networked dwelling. Emerging forms of domesticity entangle aspects of the austere, collective, and networked in novel ways—and do so with a variety of attitudes to technology, control, politics, and design. In response, the paper argues that platform domesticity requires a renewed conception of conviviality and agency: a right to the platform.

Les incertitudes de différentes natures (technologiques, organisationnelles, liées au contexte) posent souvent des problèmes importants dans les grands projets technologiques, conduisant à des retards de livraison, des dépassements de budget et parfois à l’érosion des marges de sécurité dans la conception ou dans la mise en œuvre. La gestion des aléas, par des pratiques d’anticipation et d’adaptation, constitue une part importante du travail des chefs de projet. Ce document propose une synthèse de la littérature académique sur la gestion de l’incertitude dans les grands projets technologiques. Il examine les limites des analyses de risques préparatoires, la manière dont sont gérées les alertes et autres signaux indiquant un écart par rapport aux plans, et comment les trajectoires de projet sont redéfinies pour chercher à remplir les objectifs malgré ces imprévus.
