Abstract:
Sports psychology of management is the application of various psychological theories in sports and exercise. The research on sports psychology of management in China started late and developed slowly in the early stage, but with the economic and social development, especially the successful holding of the Winter Olympics and the Beijing Olympics, Chinese psychology has entered a period of standardized and systematic development. The application in training and competition has developed rapidly, and has made great contributions to the development of sports psychology in the world. In the future, there are still many problems that need to be solved in the theoretical and applied research of sports psychology. Competitive sports psychology of management research has always been a key area of sports psychology research. Most national sports teams have their own teams of dedicated support experts who provide services such as healthcare, physical training, rehabilitation, physiological and biochemical monitoring, nutrition, technical analysis, and more. Sports psychologists in the Institute of Science of the General Administration of Sport of China, Beijing Sports University and other institutions have provided psychological services for the national team for a long time. The main psychological problems of Chinese athletes in competitive competitions can be summarized from 8 aspects: cognition, emotion, willpower, attention, motivation and attitude, self-evaluation, interpersonal relationship and mental fatigue. We will continue to focus on competitive sports psychology research and strengthen physical education and exercise psychology research. Maintain the traditional research theme of sports psychology and continuously expand new research areas. In terms of research methods, quantitative research and qualitative research should be combined, and empirical research and research methods should be strengthened. Challenges exist in: motion perception and decisionmaking in exercise, neural efficiency and neuroplasticity, self-control and exercise performance, mental health of athletes, dose effects of exercise on mental health, moderators in exercise to promote mental health, exercise The intention-behavior gap promotes mental health, and the neural mechanisms by which exercise promotes mental health.

Abstract:
Social history in last century has witnessed a transformation not experienced in any period before. How people are affected - what sort of characteristics individuals have – how they try to handle situation is multi-perspective. Understanding inter-societal and interpersonal relationship systems that are based on fluctuation and competition issues have been studied thoroughly. But, the role of entrepreneurship in dealing with competition has drawn researchers' extensive interest of late. Entrepreneurship is associated with the fields of administration, business, management and economics. However, in reality it is multi and interdisciplinary, with psychology having a bearing on the growth of entrepreneurship concept as is used with the broader meaning today. Through grounded research and content analysis, the core of this paper is to sketch out and understand how societal influence affects the cognitive aspects of entrepreneurship.

Abstract:
Recently the role of sanction restrictions has sharply increased in the practice of regulating economic relations between countries, meanwhile their application is determined by many factors. At the same time, in the context of intensifying geopolitical competition and growing volatility of the global economy, the dynamics of sanctions application raises more and more questions. On the one hand, economic sanctions are an instrument of coercion for target countries, and on the other hand they make international exchange and cross-border mobility of the factor more and more vulnerable. Heterogeneous nature of the economic sanctions’ impact on sending and target countries does not allow us to say that sanctions are an unambiguous instrument of an effective trade policy. This article analyzes the key narratives of economic sanctions regimes in all their diversity at the present stage, new forms and mechanisms of sanctions, as well as their consequences for various aspects of life of the world community.

Abstract:
Publicly funded broadcasters with a track record in science programming would appear ideally placed to represent climate change to the lay public. Free from the constraints of vested interests and the economic imperative, public service providers are better equipped to represent the scientific, social and economic aspects of climate change than commercial media, where ownership conglomeration, corporate lobbyists and online competition have driven increasingly tabloid coverage with an emphasis on controversy. This prime-time snapshot of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s main television channel explores how the structural/rhetorical conventions of three established public service genres – a science programme, a documentary and a live public affairs talk show – impact on the representation of anthropogenic climate change. The study findings note implications for public trust, and discuss possibilities for innovation in the interests of better public understanding of climate change.

Abstract:
One of the tasks of modern education is to ensure the sustainability of higher education in the ever-changing environment in the context of globalization and glocalization. Under these conditions, cooperation in higher education is becoming more important as one of the manifestations of competitiveness. Socio-economic changes caused by globalization, internationalization and digitalisation of higher education, as well as the current demographic situation in Europe, including Latvia, raise the issue of the competitiveness of academic staff in a multi-level, multi-context and multifunctional higher education environment. The aim of the study is: based on the interdisciplinary approach, including transfer approach from economics and business sciences to educational sciences, to theoretically substantiate the competitiveness of university teachers in interaction with the multi-context and multi-level higher education environment, as well as the competitiveness of universities. The following research methods were used: study, analysis, and evaluation of scientific literature (theoretical research method); the reflection of own (the article authors') academic and scientific experience (empirical research method). The results of the research show that two tendencies can be distinguished in the substantiation of the competitiveness of university academic staff: 1) economists and business scientists, based on competition theories, use basic knowledge, findings in the development of the substantiation of competitiveness; 2) representatives of educational sciences and psychology develop a philosophical methodological base for research of specialists' competitiveness within their branches of science. In their research, the authors combine both of these approaches in conducting interdisciplinary research. Research results show that the competitiveness of the academic staff can be viewed in several aspects: 1) as a set of different characteristics (qualities) which are considered to be competitive advantages: 2) characteristics of competitive activities manifestations in the higher education environment. Three levels of the higher education environment are important in assessing the competitiveness of university teachers: the level of the local higher education environment (university level), the level of the national higher education environment and the level of the global higher education environment.

Abstract:
The Ukrainian market of graphic design, which belongs to the sphere of creative industries, demonstrates high rates of development. The derivative nature of commercial demand for graphic design services, including professional design services, is determined by the dominance of video content in the network, the introduction of innovative technologies through digitalization of virtual space in the formation of social media feeds, loyal attitude of the target audience to integrate advertising, personalized and relevant offer active development of stock image, video and music platforms. The total amount of taxes paid by the design industry during 2016-2018 amounted to UAH 259 million. In 2019-2020, the amount of taxes paid by this sector will increase one and a half to two times a year. The individualization of advertising appeals has led to the need for in-depth study of the content and characteristics of attributes and values of goods that influence consumer purchasing decisions by marketers, designers and other professionals in related fields. A separate area of research is to study the impact of the psychology of design decisions on increasing the loyalty of end users and increase sales of companies in the sector. The application of a customer-oriented approach in the Ukrainian graphic design sector actualizes the identification of the tasks facing design from the standpoint of marketing approach. The aim of the study is to present the results of the study on the impact of psychological aspects of design decisions on the effectiveness of customer companies through such marketing tools as increasing brand awareness, increasing loyalty of end users, deepening interaction with content, feedback and more. Graphic design is an integral part of industrial and trade policy, as well as one of the marketing tools used in the process of product creation and customer service, pricing, advertising, branding, merchandising and more. The main tasks of design stem from the mastery of basic psychological principles in creating the concept of design (von Restorf effect, Gestalt principles, visceral reaction, color psychology, psychology of form, double coding theory, cognitive load theory). The expansion of marketing areas of design in the practice of service providers has led in the largest cities of Ukraine to the formation of sustainable design communities, the beginning of professional design activities, the introduction of niche publications, public procurement and more. As a result, there is an increase in the capacity of the design market – the total cost of procurement of design services for the period 2016 – by August 2019 increased to UAH 62 million. It has been established that the biggest competitors in the market of graphic design of Ukraine are now the design agency «MUZIKA.UA», graphic design studio SHANKA; Bypaul design studio; BRANDME; Wezom; Marat and Abordazh. On the example of projects of the agency «MUZIKA.UA», a leader in the design market, analyzed the effectiveness of design decisions in terms of: brand awareness, by measuring the average website traffic, levels of interaction with content, sales growth and market share due to design solutions per month. Based on the study of the economic situation in the design market of Ukraine, the practical involvement in the market of graphic design of one of the authors allowed to identify the main problems of market development. By identifying the main problems of the development of the graphic design market, directions for solving problems have been formed and proposed for practical use. The intensification of intra-industry competition requires a study of the levels of concentration in the target markets of graphic design, taking into account the risks of marketing and financial activities, which should be the subject of a separate study.

Abstract:
This article seeks to provide argument that effective performance in modern realia of business and management is impossible without understanding the socio-psychological processes that accompany entrepreneurial endeavours. Further development of market competition in the national economy, its inclusion in the system of global economic relationships, aggravation of internal barriers to successful implementation of economic reforms significantly raise the issue of exploring a psychological aspect of economic security of businesses, and in international ventures, in particular. An emphasis is put that the roots of genesis and evolution of economic psychology refer to radical changes, especially changes occurred in the economic paradigm and attitudes towards ownership for the means of production in the first place, as well as the emergence of new economic actors. Apart from that, pressing globalization trends, changes in political and economic patterns, as well as rapid technological advances in society have greatly affected socio-cultural values of the population. However, even the very speed and extent of global change faced by modern society depends on psychological characteristics inherent in different social groups. Different psychological patterns and perspectives that drive the development of business environment world-wide have created a new background for shaping and launching new economic security strategies for international business entities and ventures. The findings have verified that business economic security directly relates to management's understanding of the needs and the specifics of business structure and their alignment with the personal goals of the leader. Moreover, business operation of economic entities, both in the external and internal environment, encourages them to search for the new pathways and raise awareness of the need for effective interaction between the internal corporate culture and its organizational structure, ensuring and managing economic security and values of international markets. To attain the above objectives, a thorough research on the international business environment is of critical significance. It is argued that deep insights into psychological factors driving drastic change in the politicians’ perceptions of the need to make a shift from a planned socialist paradigm to a market economy, exploring the psychology of transformation of the theoretical concepts from Marxist political economy to Western market theories will facilitate better understanding of the nature of economic security of international ventures.

Abstract:
The processes currently taking place in the global economy, namely globalization, changes in market trends, tougher competition, and the associated uncertainty in international economic and political ties give rise to new imperatives for the mutual arrangement of the states. Thus, economic integration is perhaps the key process contributing to the sustainable development of the leading and developing countries of the world. Regionally integrated territories are becoming increasingly important. At the same time, integration is influenced by the concentration criteria of more intensive economic relations between regions, institutional coordination based on long-term general norms. The regions should be economically managed to ensure the sustainability of the socio-economic system, which means to maintain its functional features and structural components. Economic development is considered to be a fundamental concept rooted in evolutionary and revolutionary approaches and applied to determine the conditions for the development of cross-border regions. Cross-border regions’ development was analyzed, and the results show that this concept was regulated by the theories of globalization, regionalization, and transnationalism at its different stages. The methodological framework was understudied, and this outlined the need to up-grade the classification of socio-economic system development types with a “structural changes” criterion. The economic development of the region is defined as a consistent process leading to better living conditions of the inhabitants. To achieve the target living standard, key target indicators of the socio-economic development should be achieved with the cost-efficient exploitation of the region’s resource capacity. The criteria for the typology of regional integration unions are systematized and divided into the stages of development, the level of management, the models of border and interregional relations, an institutionalization level of cross-border cooperation. The factors which affect regional integration and relevant trends of its development are defined. An institutional and economic approach has been applied to define a modern group of regional integration associations. This approach accounts the interaction of socio-economic and organizational-economic relations and their ties with the efficient powers of the region. The typology of regional integration unions includes a framework, surface, and rational integration.

Abstract:
The fierce competition among industries and the rapid environment changes have health care companies not only face the competitive prices of products but also bear the pressure of shortening product life cycle. Looking back the barter time before, there was not customer service. With the time and space changes, customer service is constantly enhanced along with the economic development. In the service era, a business should complete the service value from the aspect of customer to achieve the goal of customer satisfaction, actively understand customers’ real needs, and provide products and services required for customers in order to create higher service value for customers. Taking the employees of health care industry in Shanghai City as the research object, questionnaire survey is used for collecting relevant data. With statistical analyses, the following research conclusions are summarized: (1) Service innovation shows significantly positive correlations with customer value; (2) Customer value reveals remarkably positive correlations with customer satisfaction; (3) Service innovation reveals notably positive correlations with customer satisfaction. Reference for health care industry making operation policies is provided in this study. By strengthening customer value and customer satisfaction, it is expected to enhance customer loyalty and create the niche for the sustainable management of health care industry.

Abstract:
The present essay examines the scarcity–prosociality link, that is, the conditions in which scarcity leads to self-interest and competitiveness or to other-oriented prosociality and cooperativeness. Adopting a social-psychological approach, the findings of the major investigations of reactions to scarcity are summarised. These studies show both self-interest and prosociality as reactions to scarcity, depending on various mediating factors, although a scarcity mindset or limited-good perception is not revealed directly. This link needs to be interpreted in the light of social-psychological, cognitive, economic and cultural factors. In general, the scarcity–prosociality relationship is found to be ambiguous, yet thought-provoking. Some aspects that require detailed exploration and the multi-pronged implications of the scarcity–prosociality association for societal development are highlighted. It is suggested that effective coping with scarcity in resource-constrained economies will be possible if socialisation and social policies promote practices that enhance resource availability, encourage an optimal use of resources, and modify a competitive stance to a cooperative one, and a zero-sum game perception of resource exchange to one of non-zero-sum game.

Seifert, Jacob. "Essays in competition policy, innovation and banking regulation." Thesis, University of St Andrews, 2014. http://hdl.handle.net/10023/9456.

Full text
Abstract:
This thesis investigates the optimal enforcement of competition policy in innovative industries and in the banking sector. Chapter 2 analyses the welfare impact of compulsory licensing in the context of unilateral refusals to license intellectual property. When the risk-free rate is low, compulsory licensing is shown unambiguously to increase consumer surplus. Compulsory licensing has an ambiguous effect on total welfare, but is more likely to increase total welfare in industries that are naturally less competitive. Compulsory licensing is also shown to be an effective policy to protect competition per se. The chapter also demonstrates the robustness of these results to alternative settings of R&D competition. Chapter 3 develops a much more general framework for the study of optimal competition policy enforcement in innovative industries. A major contribution of this chapter is to separate carefully a firm's decision to innovate from its decision to take some generic anti-competitive action. This allows us to differentiate between firms' counterfactual behaviour, according to whether or not they would have innovated in the absence of any potentially anti-competitive conduct. In contrast to the existing literature, it is shown that the stringency of optimal policy will be harsher towards firms that have innovated in addition to taking a given anticompetitive action. Chapter 4 develops a framework for competition policy in the banking sector, which takes explicit account of capital regulation. In particular, conditions are derived under which increases in the capital requirement increase the incentives of banks to engage in a generic abuse of dominance in the loan market, and to exploit depositors through the sale of ancillary financial products. Thus the central contribution of this chapter is to clarify the conditions under which stability-focused capital regulation conflicts with competition and consumer protection policy in the banking sector.

Nault, Barrie R. "Modelling strategic information technology impact on inter-firm competition: pricing." Thesis, University of British Columbia, 1990. http://hdl.handle.net/2429/30787.

Full text
Abstract:
This research studies normative pricing strategies for information technology (IT) used by suppliers to supplement an underlying primary good. Transactions with consumers and customer firms are considered. Characteristics of IT are divided into IT impacts on customers, and IT impacts on suppliers. IT impacts on customers include vertical differentiation or reduced turnover costs for the primary good, and positive IT adoption costs. IT impacts on suppliers include reduced production costs for the primary good, and the costs of IT. Optimal pricing for the IT and the primary good is modelled for monopoly, and Bertrand competition based on IT and the primary good is modelled for oligopoly. Two part tariffs are used for the IT and IT enhanced primary good. Results of pricing to consumers show that the fixed component of an optimal (or equilibrium) two part tariff can either be a net tax or a net subsidy, confirming the possibility of taxed or subsidized IT adoption. For the monopolist offering the IT and IT enhanced primary good only, the consumer's adoption/switching cost limits the possible subsidy. Consistent with previous economics research, in a duopoly where one supplier has IT, the IT supplier abandons the original primary good. Two suppliers with identical IT cannot attain a positive profit equilibrium. Analogous results obtain for a special case of pricing to customer firms. Empirical results support differential (premium) pricing for an IT enhanced primary good over an original good.

Ferguson, Robert J. "Expectation discrepancy and attribution : mediational factors of sport competition anxiety." Virtual Press, 1989. http://liblink.bsu.edu/uhtbin/catkey/562773.

Full text
Abstract:
The purpose of the present study is to extend past outcome-dependent models of Sport Competition Anxiety (SCA) to include attribution theory as an appraisal process of past performance outcome. It was hypothesized that unstable causal attributions for past unexpected performances would lead to uncertain expectations of future performance and subsequent SCA. Sixty-three male subjects were assessed for initial expectations of how they would perform in a cycling task, i.e., high and low, in which each subject received false feedback about his performance (success or failure). After completing the task, subjects completed questionnaires assessing the discrepancy between expected and actual outcome, attributions for past performance (Causal Dimension Scale), expectation for future performance, and the Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2 which measures state cognitive and somatic anxiety and state self-confidence. Contrary to predictions, results indicated that attribution did not mediate SCA, but rather attributions were made systematically in response to success and failure and not unexpected outcome. However, path analysis carried out on a modified model of SCA that includes outcome and expectations of future performance, indicated that somatic anxiety and state self-confidence are mediated by expectation of future success. The findings are discussed in terms of attribution theory and other cognitive constructs (e.g., self-schemata and efficacy expectations) that might have an impact on attributional patterns that lead to performance expectations and SCA. It is noted that because only male subjects were used, generalizability to female competitors may not be appropriate due to differences in sport socialization.

Abstract:
This chapter will study a Philippine and a Chinese leaner's approaches to learn and achieve English language proficiency over 15 years in Hong Kong using biographical approaches. It focuses on the experience of individual motivation and social learning environments, and examines the interactions between the learner's motivation, self-confidence, and competition in the global economy. The effect of the interaction on shaping English learning and the learning experiences in three aspects including formal, self-directed and natural learning environments will also be discussed through Gardner's model of socio-educational model in second language acquisition and Weiner's attribution theory in social psychology. The chapter will suggest some practical implications for students and language teachers, discusses the ways to enhance second language learning in a cosmopolitan city, and presents some possible ways to increase learners' motivation and competitiveness in the global economy.
