Abstract:
The Communicative Approach, started in the 70s, focus on real communication and interaction. This approach is prevalent in English teaching as it proposed an alternative to the then ubiquitous systems-oriented approaches. In the Communicative Approach, instead of focusing on the acquisition of vocabulary and grammar, it emphasizes the development of learner’s competence to communicate in real-life situations. In other words, it aims at cultivating communicative competence rather than the grammatical or linguistic competence. Although the Communicative Approach is an effective method to teach English, it is often misunderstood and misused by many English teachers, especially college English teachers. This thesis explains what the essence of communicative teaching method is, what are its characteristics, and what misunderstandings teachers usually have about it, in the hope that the Communicative Approach can be used correctly and effectively in college English teaching and students can actually increase their English competence from this approach.

Abstract:
Communication changes the beliefs of the listener and of the speaker. The value of a communicative act stems from the valuable belief states which result from this act. To model this we build on the Interactive POMDP (IPOMDP) framework, which extends POMDPs to allow agents to model others in multi-agent settings, and we include communication that can take place between the agents to formulate Communicative IPOMDPs (CIPOMDPs). We treat communication as a type of action and therefore, decisions regarding communicative acts are based on decision-theoretic planning using the Bellman optimality principle and value iteration, just as they are for all other rational actions. As in any form of planning, the results of actions need to be precisely specified. We use the Bayes’ theorem to derive how agents update their beliefs in CIPOMDPs; updates are due to agents’ actions, observations, messages they send to other agents, and messages they receive from others. The Bayesian decision-theoretic approach frees us from the commonly made assumption of cooperative discourse – we consider agents which are free to be dishonest while communicating and are guided only by their selfish rationality. We use a simple Tiger game to illustrate the belief update, and to show that the ability to rationally communicate allows agents to improve efficiency of their interactions.

Abstract:
The title of this Independent Research is An analysis of communicative language teaching .The analysis that is carried out is focused only on the communication approach to students or pupils with various methods that will be given. The goal of Communicative Language Teaching is to have one’s students become communicatively competent. While this has been the stated goal of many of the other methods in the communicative approach the notion of what it takes to be communicatively competent is much expanded. Adherents of the communicative approach, which we will consider in this Analysis acknowledge that structures and vocabulary are important. However they feel that preparation for communication will be inadequate if only these are taught. Students may know the rules of language usage, but will be unable to use the language. When we communicate, we use the language to accomplish some function, such arguing, persuading, or promising. More over, we carry out these functions within a social context. A speaker will choose a particular way to express his argument not only based upon his intent and his level of emotion, but also on whom he is addressing and what his relationship with that person is. Furthermore, since communication is a process, it is sufficient for students to simply have knowledge of target language forms, meanings and functions. Students must be able to apply this knowledge in negotiating meaning. It is through the interaction between speaker and listener (or reader and writer) that meaning becomes clear. The listener gives the speaker feedbacks as to whether or not he understands what the speaker has said. In this way, the speaker can revise what he said and try to communicate his intend meaning again, if necessary.

Abstract:
The article focuses on the study of requirements for communication in the social sphere and justification of their specificity in comparison with other types of verbal interaction. The relevance of the stated problem is determined by the significant influence of social communications on society and the dependence of public safety on the effectiveness of social interaction. The study aimed at identifying the types of violations of commonly known maxims in the social sphere and substantiating the specificity of requirements for social communicative interaction. Two main methods were used in the research: projecting and modeling. The well-known communication maxims were divided into two groups. The first group contains those that define the requirements for organizing the content of the message and are aimed at ensuring the fullness of its perception by the addressees. The second group includes maxims, which establish requirements for the moral climate of communication and the implementation of the principle of politeness. The data of interviews given by representatives of governmental bodies to journalists of certain TV channels and blogs, as well as the analysis of Internet news videos revealed the types of violations of the well-known maxims of communication in the social domain. The main ones are: ignoring the maxims of the second group in interviews and non-compliance with the maxims of the first group in news programs. It has been proved that the well-known maxims of communication need to be revised taking into account the conditions of social contact discourse. The specificity of maxims in social communicative interaction was substantiated.

Abstract:
Today there is an increase in the number of people willing to learn English, which is due to the desire to communicate fluently with foreigners, get an education abroad, read foreign literature, watch foreign channels, communicate online, find high-paying jobs in Ukraine and develop comprehensively. A well-developed personality has a better ability to learn something new, feels free and more confident in communicating with other people, as perfect command of English has recently become an integral skill of modern educated people. It is known that language knowledge and relevant speaking skills form the language competence of students; regional, country and linguistic knowledge - socio-cultural and sociolinguistic competence; speaking skills - speaking competence of students. All the types of competences form students' foreign language communicative competence, the development of which is especially important in foreign language teaching. The speed and quality of the formation of communicative competence largely depend on the level of the formation of students' general educational competence. Nowadays one of the dominant methods of foreign languages teaching is communicative. The main purpose of the communicative method is to teach students to communicate with interlocutors. This method harmoniously combines many methods and ways of teaching foreign languages, so it is the basis for the evolution of various educational methods. In the process of learning by this method, students develop communicative competence - the ability to use the language depending on the specific situation. They develop the skill of communication during the communication. According to this aspect, all the exercises and tasks must be communicatively justified by the lack of information, choice and reaction. Communicatively oriented learning task encourages students to work, because it evokes a sense of achievement, confidence, creates a joyful and pleasant atmosphere of learning, promotes a sense of responsibility, expands interests, ensures the use of information from other school subjects. The experience has shown that language material is easier to learn in this way than learning isolated words and grammar rules. The communicative approach is aimed at organizing the learning process, adequate to real communication, because it involves modeling the basic patterns of communication. Communicative (speaking) orientation means that when mastering speaking material (phonetics, vocabulary, grammar), the final step is to demonstrate how the speaking material intended for study can be used to achieve relevant communication in a foreign language.

Abstract:
The Communitive Approach in language teaching starts from а theory of language as communication. The goal of language teaching is to develop communicative competence. Another linguistic theory of communication favored in CLT is functional account of language use. Linguistic is concerned with the description of speech acts of texts, since only through study of language in use are all the functions of language and therefore all components of meaning brought into focus. The goal of language teaching is to develop what referred to as “communicative competence”. This term is coined in order to contrast а communicative view of language and theory of competence. Linguistic theory is concerned primarily with an ideal speaker-listener in а completely homogeneous speech community, who knows its language perfectly and is unaffected by such grammatically irrelevant conditions as memory limitation, distribution, shifts of attention and interest, and errors (random or characteristic) in applying his knowledge of the language in actual performance.

The concept of communicative competence has been studied widely for over 40 years in several fields, including linguistics, psychology, and speech communication. Different definitions of communicative competence and measurement of communicative competence exist in these fields. A clear approach to communicative competence for typical speaking individuals and its measurement of communicative competence is unclear. This paper aims to: (1) review four main approaches to communicative competence and highlight strengths and weaknesses of each approach; (2) develop an integrated approach to communicative competence for typical speakers; and (3) address measurement of communicative competence. An integrated approach to communicative competence for typical speakers provides a fundamental access to communicative competence in different fields. In the Survey political science there are many theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of civil society. As a result of the study, the author of the article comes to the conclusion that one of the basic characteristics of civil society is its dialogic. In this case, the dialogue is considered as an intersubjective interconnection between actors (subjects) not only bilateral, but also multilateral communication. Its main subjects are, on the one hand, organs and structures of state and municipal government, and, on the other, the organization of civil society (first of all, it is non-commercial, non-state or non-governmental organizations, as they are called in the West, unlike modern Russia). Abstract:
The communicative language teaching (CLT) approach and its fundamental principles, including learning to communicate through interaction and engagement, are generally upheld by theories in the area of second language acquisition even though by and large implementing CLT is to some degree difficult and ineffective in many ESL (English as a second language) and EFL (English as a foreign language) contexts. This action research is undertaken to assist a small group of Thai EFL school teachers in developing and implementing context-sensitive CLT through a teacher training program designed for their own professional development as secondary school teachers. Two methods are employed, an observation and a task evaluation. It is found that from the teachers’ practice using CLT in teaching, their classes are hardly communicative in nature as communication is constrained and rather unilateral, mostly directed by the teachers. Some recommendations are made to the teachers under study based on the methods used, addressing fluency rather than accuracy if students’ communicative competence is the goal.

The article makes an attempt to characterise the act of eating as a communicative event and a cultural text: the analysis is based on the model of communication, theory of information and the general theory of signs. The main objective of the analysis is focused on reconstruction of the linguistic and cultural picture of eating in communication. In the description of the data, references are made to selected research methods and tools of linguistic semantics, particularly in its cultural variant. The data under consideration were initially limited to Polish linguaculture but in the course of analysis examples from other cultures were incorporated. While constructing a communicative model of eating, a basic distinction is made between the performer of an action (the eater) and the object of this action (the food). The analysis of the data reveals that apart from the verbally expressed information about who eats, what they eat, and how they do it. Another significant role in coding meaning is played by the accompanying non-verbal communication (eating-related sounds or the eater’s body language), as well as conventional signals replacing verbal formulas (communication through an arrangement of the cutlery, the dish itself or a specific manner of consumption).

Abstract:
Journalists’ privileges and the perceived value of their contributions are being affected by the increasing belief that journalistic work is a product that can be produced by anyone. This perspective should prompt questions related to the conceptualization of journalistic expertise and the functions of educational institutions that assert they teach it. This research contributes to scientific knowledge by introducing an alternative scholarly approach toward defining journalistic expertise—a communication perspective. Prestige in the digital landscape is increasingly associated with the ability of communicators to package information conveying their expertise to various publics. We proposed a set of variables to assess expertise: journalism-related degree, previous professional journalism experience, affiliation, journalism awards, specialization, technical skills, journalism skills, and public service through a content analysis of public Facebook fan pages. The results revealed that journalists communicated their expertise by highlighting their affiliation, previous experience, and specialization(s).

Abstract:
This study is based on communicative language teaching perceptions that learners have toward CLT communicatively based lectures at the preparatory program of Shaqra university. The Problem of concern is to assure that CLT approach is truly practiced. Presuppositions assumed are concerned with students’ belief about efficiency of CLT approach to help acquiring an outstanding communicative competence when learning a new language and the lecturers’ assumption that CLT is an ideal approach for teaching a new language. The study uses a questionnaire constructed to extract perceptions toward practices of CLT approach from students and lecturers. The Findings of the study show that students learn a new language effectively when it is used as a vehicle for doing something such as greeting, requesting, giving, and apologizing. Overall, students think that communication is an important skill and teachers have faith in CLT as a perfect approach enhancing students’ communication skill. It is recommended in the study that teachers had better employ CLT approach to enhance communication and that students had better make communication main objective for learning a new language. The study suggests for further studies areas of controversial issues concerning priority of grammatical accuracy to communicative accuracy when learning a new language.

Abstract:
The way the communicative method functions in a professionally oriented approach to teaching Ukrainian foreign students of medical specialties has been little studied, and that determines the relevance of this topic. It has been found that there is a controversy in scientific thought concerning the role of both communicative and grammar components of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language. Moreover, modern textbooks do not provide sufficient exercises to develop professional communication. The purpose of this study is to investigate the application of the communicative method in a professionally oriented approach to teaching Ukrainian (as a foreign language), and to develop appropriate exercises and tasks. The conclusion is that in the process of learning to communicate in a foreign language, it is important for students to present and master grammatical material. Samples of tasks and exercises aimed at developing the communicative and grammar competence of foreign medical students in professional communication are presented.

Abstract:
This study mainly focused on exploring the efficacy of applying the communicative approach to teaching German at the Goethe Institute in Bangladesh. A qualitative approach was used to collect data by using journal writing by the teacher as well as informal feedback from students. The students comprised 11 schoolteachers from a number of Bangladeshi English-medium schools. Since emphasis was given on testing reading and writing rather than on evaluation of all four skills, applying CLT was tailored to teaching reading and writing rather than speaking and listening with the effect that students at the end of the course had elementary knowledge of reading and writing but poor knowledge of speaking and listening. The question that follows is how communicative is the communicative approach if testing clashes with pedagogy? This article explores the limitations of applying CLT to the German language class and the dilemma that comes with it as to which approach is the best approach to teach a foreign language. Abstract:
The article considers the features of the communicative-cognitive approach to the subject area of discourse and its interpretation in linguistics. The authors give several views on the concept of discourse, its main characteristics and emphasize the interactivity of its nature. Overall, the interpretation of discourse as a multifaceted communicative-cognitive system was viewed through a complex of three aspects: the translation of beliefs and ideas that is cognitive, the interaction of communication participants in specific conditions and contexts that are communicative. The article presents the structure of discourse from the perspective of communicative-cognitive approach, analyzes all the elements of the structure. The position on the speech act is viewed as a minimal discursive unit and the possibility of its use for linguistic descriptions is separately considered. The principle of unfolding a speech act in accordance with a specific cognitive scenario with regard to the communicative characteristics of the act is highlighted.

Abstract:
The author of the article analyzes the components of the communicative competence of employees of the State Criminal and Executive Service (knowledge, skills, abilities, personal features) on the basis of the definition of this phenomenon. The author emphasizes that a special role in the formation of this phenomenon is played by the training courses of Ukrainian and foreign languages for professional orientation, as well as other disciplines of the social and humanitarian course. Shumeiko Z. Ye. substantiates the expediency of using the communicative approach in the process of forming the language communicative competence of the employees of the State Criminal and Executive Service by analyzing the basic concepts of research (“approach” and “communication”). The author proves that this approach is based on the consideration of educational phenomena through the prism of the concept of educational and pedagogical communication. The introduction of a communicative approach to the training of future specialists of State Criminal and Executive Service involves the implementation of three main conditions, in particular: the purpose of training courses should be to develop skills (grammar, lexical, phonetic, speech) necessary for speech activity; the need to select exercises communicative in nature, as well as tasks for the development of skills and speech skills; formation of the incentive-motivational phase of the activity of the future specialists. The author of the article concludes that for the effective formation of language communicative competence on the basis of the communicative approach teachers should create the communication situations, as well as to select text material taking into account the professional orientation of students, to apply the optimal forms, methods and means of organizing the educational process, as well as to form internal needs of students in speech communication, to encourage development and self-development in this area. Abstract:
The article offers the development of the complex methodology for the study of the speech behavior of the intelligentsia characters. The material of the research is the plays and screenplays of the 60–80s of the 20th century by the Soviet authors such as Valentin Azernikov, Alexei Arbuzov, Vladimir Arro, Emil Braginsky and Eldar Ryazanov, Alexander Vampilov, Alexander Volodin and Leonid Zorin, and others. The article considers methodological approaches to the study of the speech behavior of literary characters belonging to the same social group. Patterns of linguistic persona and patterns of speech behavior are analyzed. The main definitions applied within the scope of the approaches are linguistic, speech, communicative, or discursive persona; linguistic, verbal, communicative, or discursive behavior, as well as units of description of speech behavior: speech acts, parameters, actions, steps, speech or communicative strategies and tactics, speech genres, speech acts and speech behavior patterns. The approaches under consideration are discovered to have points of convergence, the prospects of developing the research are outlined. It is concluded to be necessary to conduct a contrastive study, namely, to compare the communicative features of the behavior of the members of different social groups in typical communicative situations and to identify specific patterns of speech behavior, which the authors use in creating the intelligentsia characters of the 60–80s of the 20th century. The prospects of the study include the consideration of various communicative situations with the participation of only intelligentsia members, or an intelligentsia character and a member of another social group; formal and informal communication situations, the status of communicants, communication participants complying with etiquette norms, emotionality and reasonableness of communication, ways of expressing evaluation, influence on the organization of communication, as well as other linguistic and extralinguistic factors, should be taken into account in the study.

Abstract:
The article discusses the possibility of the development of axiological competences in university students in the process of teaching language-related disciplines within the world educational space. The problem of the development of communicative competences is relevant in the modern educational environment; it determines the purpose of the study: to analyze the survey results illustrating the attitude of students to the value of communication in society. During the research, linguistic and axiological parameters, defined by students as linguistic and communicative values, were identified, which makes it possible to talk about modern trends in education. Particular attention is paid to the value categories of the Russian language as the basis for national and cultural orientation, successful communication, intellectual development of people and formation of their linguistic personalities. The authors regard the axiological approach in the development of the student’s communicative competences as a fundamentally structured vision of the world through the prism of value orientation, which in the practice of cognition allows developing competences based on the cognitive needs and communicative intentions of students.

Abstract:
In the article the author investigates the problems of forming of communicative competence in secondary schools. The concept of communicative approach is analyzed in the scientific literature, defined the importance of communicative competence of pupils of secondary schools, focuses on issues of competence of language education, including pupils’ poor motivation training . The author analyzes the process of formation of communicative competence in the context of the current Ukrainian language policy, focuses on the communicative approach as one of the priority and emphasizes the importance of the relationship between school language education and real needs of our society. The author notes that modern communicative focus of the educational process in educational institutions will create opportunities to realize value, development and educational aspects of the Ukrainian language as a school subject. In modern teaching methodology the implementation of communicative approach ensures the creation of a special space for child’s training; in which any pupil choose his own way of activity. Linguistic competence is a broad term which includes linguistic or grammatical competence, sociolinguistic or socio-cultural competence. Linguistic and communicative competence must combine to produce, general, overall, language proficiency which can be referred to as integration Although language competence does not determine the success of communication, but creates the conditions for participation in the communication process, which affect both extralinguistic (psychological, social, national, history, age, etc.) and intralinguistic (complexity of the language system) factors.
