L'élaboration d'un paradigme conceptuel susceptible d'encadrer la recherche sur l'organisation spatiale des sociétés nécessite d'abord qu'on définisse certains concepts d'ordre substantif (compétition, communication, proximité), méthodologique (paradigme, modèle, théorie) et philosophique (structure, forme, fonction, processus). À l'aide de ces concepts, il est possible de résumer l'évolution épistémologique récente en géographie humaine. Il est suggéré que, depuis dix ans, la recherche de pointe s'est déplacée de l'analyse spatiale vers la géographie du comportement. Un paradigme qui relie formes et processus spatiaux d'une part, et processus temporels d'autre part, semble émerger présentement. Un tel cadre théorique gagnerait à être déduit de certaines caractéristiques fondamentales du comportement humain et social, telles compétition, communication et proximité.

Dans la plupart de ses romans, Milan Kundera met en scène un va-et-vient constant entre le territoire tchèque et d’autres pays essentiellement de l’Ouest, à travers les déplacements des personnages. Nous interrogeons ces flux d’im/migration centrifuge ou centripète (parfois ne dépassant pas le stade du simple projet) qui semblent participer à l’élaboration d’une poétique visant à établir un réseau de communication entre le déplacement spatial et le recentrement identitaire. Trois axes paraissent révélateurs du questionnement que l’auteur organise autour de cette problématique : d’abord la question de l’exil et/ou de l’immigration en tant que prétexte à l’évocation du rejet du pays natal et de la fuite des autres ou de soi ; ensuite celle de l’immigration à rebours qui se penche sur la perte et la reconquête de l’espace comme révélateurs de l’identité individuelle ; enfin, celle de la démystification de l’espace commun ou communautaire pour constituer un cheminement vers la réappropriation de soi. Nous partons de ce troisième axe dans une étude centrée sur la question de l’identité dans certains de ses romans.

SUMMARY The Russian Language in the New Relations of the European Space Agency The recently signed Framework Agreement between the European Space Agency and the Soviet Union opens the door to an intensified cooperation between the two space powers in a variety of areas of common interest. Whereas ESA-financed industrial project and research work, both with the USA and within the 13 member-states of the Agency, is usually conducted in English (English and French being the two official languages of ESA), the Soviet Union has its own long history of international space activities with Russian used as the unique means of communication. The linguistic aspects of the new Agreement and its first implementation are placed in the context of the totally different organizational structures represented by the two parties. Many of the communication problems on the executive level appear to be caused by Western concepts of project management and control which are difficult to translate into meaningful Russian equivalents. The linguistic interaction, which is a natural consequence of joint project work, has caused the first loan words to cross the borders from both sides. SOMMAIRE La langue russe dans les nouvelles relations de VAgence Spatiale Européenne L'Accord Cadre signé récemment entre l'Agence Spatiale Européenne (ASE) et l'Union Soviétique ouvre la porte à une coopération accrue entre les deux puissances spatiales dans une variété de domaines d'intérêts communs. Alors que les travaux de développement industriel et de recherche, financés par l'ASE, sont conduits habituellement en langue anglaise, non seulement avec les États Unis d'Amérique, mais également à l'intérieur des treize pays-membres de l'ASE (l'anglais et le français étant les deux langues officielles de l'ASE), l'Union Soviétique a une longue histoire d'activités spatiales internationales pour lesquelles la langue russe était le moyen unique de communication. Les aspects linguistiques du nouvel accord ainsi que sa première mise en application sont placés dans le cadre de deux partenaires ayant des structures totalement différentes. Il semble qu'un grand nombre de problèmes de communication qui apparaissent au niveau d'exécution soient causés par des concepts occidentaux de la gestion et du contrôle de projets qui sont difficiles à traduire en équivalents russes significatifs. L'interaction linguistique, conséquence naturelle du travail autour d'un projet commun, a provoqué le transfert, d'un côté comme de l'autre, des premiers mots d'emprunt.

L'auteur propose une analyse des travaux de Wallon sur la fonction première des émotions et de ceux de Vygotski sur les instruments psychologiques, pour montrer que les émotions peuvent être considérées comme instruments psychologiques. Celles-ci, en cours de développement, s’intégrent aux autres fonctions et deviennent ainsi un système expressif, corporel, culturellement marqué, qui accompagne toutes les formes de communication. Ce système expressif constitue une forme d’intelligence spatiale et des situations, intelligence dont l’expression peut être entravée par différents mécanismes, internes ou externes au sujet. L'exemple des effets des différentes formes d’organisation de travail est ainsi discuté.

Nos hypothèses concernant les répercussions de ces troubles sur le développement de la communication d’un enfant sourd et de sa relation à l’autre ainsi que sur son accès au langage seront évoquées à travers la présentation de plusieurs vignettes cliniques. Les remédiations proposées visent à apporter à l’enfant sourd présentant de tels troubles des repères visuels stables et permanents afin de faciliter son accès au sens.

Résumé Cet article vise à analyser la conceptualisation spatiale dans une tâche narrative orale (Frog story) chez des adultes apprenants d’italien langue seconde (L2) qui se distinguent (a) par leur langue maternelle (L1, anglais ou français) et (b) par leur niveau de compétence en L2 (intermédiaire vs avancé). Pour ce faire, nous adoptons une méthodologie impliquant des comparaisons entre les récits de groupes natifs et non natifs ayant accompli la même tâche, afin de comprendre de quelle manière les apprenants se rapprochent de la langue cible (LC) et s’ils sont influencés par leur L1 lors du discours spatial en L2. Les usages natifs des locuteurs des L1 observées confirment les différences inter-typologiques entre les langues à cadrage verbal, le français et l’italien, et à cadrage satellitaire, l’anglais (Talmy, 1985, 2000). Néanmoins, une variation intra-typologique entre l’italien et le français est attestée : seul l’italien exploite des constructions satellitaires. Les données en L2 révèlent que les productions des apprenants intermédiaires sont assez similaires quelle que soit la L1, alors que des phénomènes évidents de transfert conceptuel sont attestés aux stades avancés lorsqu’il y a des similarités structurelles entre la langue source (LS) et la LC et que l’input en fournit une évidence positive.

À la question de savoir si la justice administrative en Afrique francophone ne souffre plus des dysfonctionnements liés à son inégale répartition géographique, limitant ainsi son rapprochement des justiciables, la réponse doit être nuancée. Au Cameroun, avec notamment la nouvelle répartition spatiale des juridictions, la proximité du juge, l’une des conditions d’un meilleur accès à cette juridiction, n’est pas entièrement réorganisée. L’accès au juge reste difficile en raison, d’une part, des rapprochements insuffisants des juridictions inférieures, et, d’autre part, la centralisation de la juridiction d’appel. Au-delà du manque de proximité avec la juridiction d’appel, la proximité adoptée pour les juridictions inférieures ignore les difficultés liées aux moyens de transport et de communication. Cette architecture s’éloigne par exemple du modèle français. Le rapprochement des justiciables par les juridictions de l’ordre judiciaire, notamment dans les zones difficiles d’accès est une solution en visage able.

Dans cet article, je m’interroge sur le rôle de l’anthropologue dans le cadre d’une recherche « chez soi » (« a casa ») au travers d’exemples ethnographiques qui illustrent la façon dont mes interlocuteurs et moi avons construit de manière polyphonique les discours sur la mémoire ouvrière du quartier Bicocca à Milan – lieu où se trouve à la fois l’Université où je me suis formé et le terrain de mon enquête. Dans les pages qui suivent, je montre le rôle central du temps, et plus spécifiquement celui de l’appartenance à des générations sociales différentes dans la construction d’une altérité au sein d’une proximité spatiale. Dans un premier temps, je dresse un portrait de l’histoire récente du quartier, dans la mesure où les transformations dont il a été l’objet sont fondamentales pour comprendre sa mémoire sociale. Dans un deuxième temps, je décris les dispositifs de co-construction du passé de cette aire « post-industrielle » en montrant les limites, les difficultés de communication et de transmission de savoirs entre générations différentes.

Cette communication a pour but de présenter les aspects graphiques et cartographiques du renouvellement de la conception d’un atlas pédagogique à partir de l’exemple de L’interAtlas. Il s’agit de montrer comment certains concepts de communication graphique ont été mis à profit pour assurer la transmission efficace d’informations géographiques préalablement structurées selon des devis pédagogiques précis, mettant en évidence les interrelations entre les phénomènes géographiques. Dans L’interAtlas, la traduction visuelle des devis de conception-rédaction (agencement des données de contenu) a été facilitée par l’utilisation de normes graphiques systématiques assurant la fonctionnalité de l’organisation thématique et visuelle de chaque planche: adoption de la double page comme unité de présentation, utilisation d’une grille modulaire pour la disposition des images et des cartes, adoption d’un parcours de lecture numéroté, titres-choc, etc. Àl’aide d’exemples choisis, on mettra en évidence les différentes formes de traitement graphique de l’information utilisées dans cet atlas et comment elles ont servi à traduire sous forme visuelle la structuration des contenus géographiques en vue d’une communication pédagogique efficace. La carte n’est plus nécessairement la forme de représentation spatiale unique ou prédominante dans un atlas. D’autres types d’images ont été utilisées, selon leur aptitude à visualiser le plus efficacement les données et concepts à représenter: photographies, graphiques, schémas, dessins, diagrammes, matrices graphiques, etc. L’utilisation extensive des matrices graphiques à différents niveaux de traitement de l’information sera particulièrement mise en évidence. On montrera comment, dans la recherche d’une fonctionnalité optimale, les auteurs de L’interAtlas ont exploité au maximum la combinaison du design pédagogique et du langage graphique. Par ces caractéristiques, L’interAtlas pourrait être le premier d’une nouvelle génération d’atlas pédagogiques.

Cet article propose d’inscrire la mobilité dans une problématique plus générale de l’action afin de mieux identifier les enjeux relatifs à l’évolution des technologies de transmission numérique. Cette articulation entre mobilité et télécommunication est développée autour de la notion de synchronisation, présentée comme le processus par lequel la distance devient moins pertinente. La synchronisation de l’information, c’est-à-dire l’augmentation de son accessibilité, accroît effectivement la visibilité de notre environnement, comme autant de virtualités dont l’actualisation est facilitée, et dont la maîtrise constitue un enjeu de plus en plus important. En insistant particulièrement sur les puissantes logiques de centralisation de la visibilité, cet article propose de considérer avec plus d’acuité les conditions de production, de communication, de traitement et de valorisation de l’information spatiale. Lorsque le Monde devient un lieu pour l’information, lorsque la circulation de l’information est globale, la tension entre la démultiplication des virtualités de l’action et l’exposition de soi est en effet totale, au point de produire un monde dont la politique reste à inventer.

Buscamos nesta comunicação uma interpretação sobre como essa fração do capital contribuiu no processo espacial de constituição e expansão da megarregião RJ-SP – tanto em termos do circuito espacial como de sua nebulosa urbana – e as novas formas e arranjos espaciais daí decorrentes. A pesquisa analisa cada uma das estruturas produtivas e redes técnicas estabelecidas no que denominamos Circuito Espacial do Petróleo e dos Royalties nos estados do Rio de Janeiro e em São Paulo, apresentando em mapas as redes formadas pelas bases operacionais e instalações. Pendant deux années, des mesures et analyses d'eau ont été faites mensuellement sur une station de la Garonne et sur trois bras morts différant par leur communication avec le fleuve. La variabilité spatio-temporelle a été dressée à partir de 14 variables physico-chimiques susceptibles d'influer les équilibres chimiques de l'eau et la vie aquatique. Les données ont fait l'objet d'une Analyse en Composantes principales précédée par une analyse de variance entre saisons et entre stations de mesures afin de déterminer l'importance des hétérogénéités spatiale et temporelle des données. L'eau du fleuve est soumise à un cycle climatique annuel de température et de débit. De brèves fortes eaux de printemps alternent avec de longues périodes de débits stables et inférieurs aux moyennes établies sur plusieurs décennies. Par rapport aux charges de sulfates et de chlorures prises comme référence du drainage du bassin versant, les flux de nitrates ont un pic accentué au printemps, résultant des activités agricoles. Les phosphates présentent aussi un accroissement automnal qui pourrait traduire un cycle annuel de minéralisation-déminéralisation. Les matières organiques s'élèvent en rapport au taux de chlorophylle a. L'eau de Garonne est de bonne qualité et conforme à la typologie habituelle, hormis des taux déclassants d'ammoniaque provenant de l'agglomération toulousaine et dont l'autoépuration est souvent incomplète. Par rapport à la Garonne, les trois bras morts sont caractérisés par un cycle thermique accentué en été. Mise en évidence par l'ACP, la minéralisation des eaux de ces trois bras morts évolue selon un cycle saisonnier parallèlement aux fluctuations de débit de la Garonne. Elle indique un gradient de minéralisation croissante de l'hiver au printemps. La qualité de l'eau lors des fortes eaux printanières est homogénéisée et imposée par le fleuve. En phases de faibles débits, la qualité de l'eau évolue parallèlement à celle de la Garonne (concentrations des substances) pour un bras mort ventilé par une communication amont et aval. En revanche, les deux bras morts en simple communication aval présentent un retard à la concentration de l'eau d'autant plus évident que la communication est étroite. Les substances fertilisantes (nitrates, phosphates, ...) augmentant de l'amont vers l'aval dans ces deux derniers bras morts, sont en été en concentration inférieure par rapport au fleuve, en raison : 1) du remplissage printanier par des eaux diluées, puis du retard estival à l’équilibrage par simple communication aval et 2) de la consommation par les organismes végétaux aquatiques. L'élude des différences spatio-temporelles met ainsi en évidence un gradient saisonnier de minéralisation, un gradient aval-amont de productivité et un gradient aval-amont de réchauffement estival. La productivité apparaît donc liée au réchauffement estival plutôt qu'à la minéralisation ou aux teneurs en substances fertilisantes.

Cellular communication through biochemical signaling is fundamental to every biological activity. Investigating cell signaling diffusions across cell types can further help understand biological mechanisms. In recent years, this has become an important research topic as single-cell sequencing technologies have matured. However, cell signaling activities are spatially constrained, and single-cell data cannot provide spatial information for each cell. This issue may cause a high false discovery rate, and using spatially resolved transcriptomics data is necessary. On the other hand, as far as we know, most existing methods focus on providing an ad hoc measurement to estimate intercellular communication instead of relying on a statistical model. It is undeniable that descriptive statistics are straightforward and accessible, but a suitable statistical model can provide more accurate and reliable inference. In this way, we propose a generalized linear regression model to infer cellular communications from spatially resolved transcriptomics data, especially spot-based data. Our BAyesian Tweedie modeling of COMmunications (BATCOM) method estimates the communication scores between cell types with the consideration of their corresponding distances. Due to the properties of the regression model, BATCOM naturally provides the direction of the communication between cell types and the interaction of ligands and receptors that other approaches cannot offer. We conduct simulation studies to assess the performance under different scenarios. We also employ BATCOM in a real-data application and compare it with other existing algorithms. In summary, our innovative model can fill gaps in the inference of cell–cell communication and provide a robust and straightforward result.

Studies have shown that ethnic segregation is conducive to social segregation. With the advent of information and communication technologies, mobile communication can support non-local social interactions and reconfigure the network composition of ethnic groups. This study focused on the similarities and differences between ethno-national groups in the structure of their cell phone communications. Data for this study include a sample of 9,099 business customers’ mobile phone calls from an Israeli mobile operator and tested two theoretical explanations. The social stratification approach predicts that mobile communication will reflect the patterns of spatial and social stratification that exist in society. On the other hand, the social diversification hypothesis expects that residentially and socially segregated minority groups will take advantage of mobile communication to diversify their social contacts and to engage in mobile communications with non-local and out-group ties. The findings suggest that in the information society, both structural conditions (the stratification approach) and social incentives (the diversification approach) are relevant for the understanding of inter-ethnic mobile communication, and structural conditions reduced inter-group mobile communication patterns. The Arab Israeli minority was more likely than the Jewish Israeli majority to engage in mobile communication with non-local ties and out-group members. Yet, structural conditions reduced inter-group mobile communication patterns. The theoretical implications of the findings for inter-group mobile communication are discussed.

Geometallurgy is a cross-disciplinary science that addresses the problem of teasing out the features of the rock mass that significantly influence mining and processing. Rocks are complex composite mixtures for which the basic building blocks are grains of minerals. The properties of the minerals, how they are bound together, and many other aspects of rock texture affect the entire mining value chain from exploration, through mining and processing, waste and tailings disposal, to refining and sales. This review presents rock properties (e.g. strength, composition, mineralogy, texture) significant in geometallurgy and examples of test methods available to measure or predict these properties. Geometallurgical data need to be quantitative and spatially constrained so they can be used in 3D modelling and mine planning. They also need to be obtainable relatively cheaply in order to be abundant enough to provide a statistically valid sample distribution for spatial modelling. Strong communication between different departments along the mining value chain is imperative so that data are produced and transferred in a useable form and duplication is avoided. The ultimate aim is to have 3D models that not only show the grade of valuable elements (or minerals), but also include rock properties that may influence mining and processing, so that decisions concerning mining and processing can be made holistically, i.e. the impacts of rock properties on all the cost centres in the mining process are taken into account. There are significant costs to improving ore deposit knowledge and it is very important to consider the cost-benefit curve when planning the level of geometallurgical effort that is appropriate in individual deposits.RÉSUMÉLa géométallurgie est une science interdisciplinaire qui s’intéresse aux caractéristiques de la masse rocheuse qui influent de manière significative sur l'exploitation minière et le traitement du minerai. Les roches sont des mélanges composites complexes dont les éléments structurant de base sont des grains de minéraux. Les propriétés des minéraux, la façon dont ils sont liés entre eux, et de nombreux autres aspects de la texture des roches déterminent l'ensemble de la chaîne de valeur minière, de l'exploration à l'extraction à la transformation, à l'élimination des déchets et des résidus, jusqu'au raffinage et à la vente. La présente étude passe en revue les propriétés significatives de la roche (par ex. sa cohésion, sa composition, sa minéralogie, sa texture) en géométallurgie ainsi que des exemples de méthodes d'essai disponibles pour mesurer ou prédire ces propriétés. Les données géométallurgiques doivent être quantitatives et localisées spatialement afin qu'elles puissent être utilisées dans la modélisation 3D et la planification de la mine. Elles doivent également être peu couteuses afin d'être suffisamment nombreuses pour fournir une distribution d'échantillon statistiquement valide pour la modélisation spatiale. La vallée du fleuve Sénégal constitue une source de vie et de fertilité régionale où se mêlent agro-pastoralisme traditionnel et cultures irriguées plus intensives. Les enjeux primordiaux de l'utilisation des ressources en eau du fleuve Sénégal représentent un défi d'envergure, et ce surtout dans un contexte de changement climatique. Les images satellitaires sont une source de données pertinente et peu chronophage pour observer et suivre les changements du territoire et ainsi aider à sa gestion. C'est dans ce contexte que le projet MOSIS (Mutualiser les observations satellitaires pour l'innovation de services) a vu le jour, issu d'une collaboration menée selon une démarche Living Lab entre la SOGED (Société de gestion et d'exploitation du barrage de Diama), la CACG (Compagnie d'aménagement des coteaux de Gascogne) et E2L (Espace et Living Lab). En seulement un an de travail, un outil opérationnel s'appuyant sur le traitement des images satellitaires Sentinel 2 a été co-conçu avec les utilisateurs finaux afin de localiser et quantifier les surfaces rizicoles mises en eau pour améliorer le taux de recouvrement de la redevance liée aux prélèvements d'eau pour l'irrigation. L'utilisation de l'outil WebGIS a déjà montré beaucoup de valeurs ajoutées sur le terrain : meilleure identification des usagers et du foncier, augmentation des recettes de redevance, amélioration de la communication avec les usagers, certification des données, etc. La qualité de la réflexion collaborative entre les membres du consortium a également permis de faire émerger d'autres idées de services potentiels qui viendraient s'appuyer sur les ressources Geo-WEB et la télédétection spatiale afin d'obtenir des indicateurs de gestion spatialisés, fiables et pérennes sur la vallée du fleuve Sénégal.

La lagune de Smir a été sujette à un aménagement (construction d'un barrage et d'un port de plaisance) qui a contribué à la modification de son système hydrologique notamment, la disparition de certaines espèces de flore et de faune et la réduction de superficies considérables de cet écosystème. Une caractérisation des eaux de cette lagune a porté sur la mesure pendant le reflux, d'un ensemble de paramètres physico-chimiques. Une méthodologie a été suivie afin d'exprimer de façon cartographique les résultats. De même, des suivis d'une journée ont été réalisés pour les eaux entrantes et sortantes au niveau de deux stations fixes, dans une tentative de comprendre l'action de la marée sur l'hydrologie au sein de la lagune, de cerner les caractéristiques des eaux entrantes dans la lagune et celles sortantes de celle-ci et de suivre l'évolution des différents paramètres physico-chimiques au cours des cycles marégraphiques. L'évolution spatiale des paramètres hydrologiques au niveau de la lagune, se réalise sous forme de gradients entre l'aval et l'amont. Elle est fonction des saisons, de la marée et des apports de l'Oued Smir et du Chenal principal venant des marais. La lagune subit le flux et le reflux de la marée d'un mètre d'amplitude environ. Combinée avec le déficit en eaux douces, la communication permanente avec la mer a eu pour conséquence l'augmentation générale de la salinité dans le plan d'eau lagunaire et dans les marais. Le fonctionnement hydrologique de la lagune de Smir se trouve actuellement régi par les facteurs hydrodynamiques liés à la marée (réguliers) et aux apports d'eaux véhiculés par le chenal des marais (irréguliers), auxquels peuvent être ajoutés des facteurs physiques (évaporation intense), bathymétriques (faible profondeur) et physiologiques (photosynthèse des macrophytes et des phanérogames dans la lagune et dans les marais limitrophes).

The strategic function of BBGs needs more attention from Bogor’s citizen for its continuities. However based on the fact showed that exuberances of BBGs trees has decreased. Due to many cars passed by in BBGs area became crowded. there was reduction of bird species form 85 species (2002) become 35 species (2007). From this phenomena, it is not impossible if one day the trees at BBGs have snatched by human for getting some waters. The interviews were conducted to the BBGs visitors that they live in the city of Bogor. The investigation revealed that the active communications among BBGs officer with the society around it become an absolute requirement to conserve BBGs as rescue media of biodiversity crisis. The most important aspect is the role of the community for the success of the preservation of the BBGs as urban forest.

The importance of wetlands as habitat and breeding grounds for waterfowls is recognized and has been extensively studied, but their role in regulating and maintaining ecosystems is less well documented. The use of wetlands by invasive species such as Common myna (Acridotheres tristis), considered as one of the 100 worst invasive species in the world, is largely unknown. Therefore, the Common mynas could have an influence on the occupation of native water bird species. The objectives of this study were to assess Common myna's (1) population size, (2) spatial occupation and (3) characteristics of foraging and roosting sites. Three urban wetlands in Antananarivo were studied: the Tsarasaotra Park, a private site classified as a Ramsar site, the Tsimbazaza Zoological and Botanical Park in the city center, and an area near the Ikopa River, close to the SOCOBIS biscuit factory. In total, 6196 Common mynas were counted with an estimated 7.9 individuals per hectare around the roosting sites. Vigilance and foraging behaviors were less observed when individuals were at a higher stratum, with communication and resting being the most observed behaviors at this level. Only 5.6% of wetlands are used during the day as foraging areas and 1.4% as roosting sites at night, where Common mynas cohabitate with herons and egrets. Finally, the environmental variables collected revealed that Common mynas favor wetlands with tall, wide trees, located far from human disturbance.
L’importance des zones humides en tant qu’habitat et site de reproduction pour les oiseaux d’eau est reconnue et a été abondamment étudiée. Cependant, le rôle des oiseaux d’eau dans la régulation et le maintien d’écosystème est moins bien documenté. Particulièrement l’utilisation des zones humides par des espèces envahissantes telles que le Martin triste (Acridotheres tristis), une des 100 pires espèces envahissantes dans le monde, reste peu étudiée. Le Martin triste pourrait avoir une influence et un impact par son occupation et son comportement envahissant sur les oiseaux d’eau autochtones. Afin d'évaluer la taille de la population du Martin triste, son utilisation et occupation spatiale, ainsi que les caractéristiques écologiques de ses zones d’alimentation et de dortoir, trois zones humides du milieu urbain d’Antananarivo ont été étudiées. Il s’agit du Parc de Tsarasaotra, un site privé classé RAMSAR, le Parc Zoologique et Botanique de Tsimbazaza dans le centre-ville, et une zone située à proximité de la rivière Ikopa, près de l’usine de fabrication de biscuits SOCOBIS. Un nombre de 6196 observations de Martins tristes ont été réa- lisées et l'abondance des populations a été estimée à 7.9 individus par hectare autour des dortoirs. Les observations ont aussi révélé que le Martin triste réduit certains comportements tels que la vigilance et l’alimentation lorsqu’il est à une hauteur plus élevée et privilégie alors des comportements de communication et de repos. Il utilise 5,6% des zones humides pendant la journée en tant que site de nourrissage et 1,4% pendant la nuit comme dortoir, où il cohabite avec des hérons et des aigrettes. The paper considers the main features of evaluating the efficiency of positional and mobile underwater communication systems with immersed correspondent objects at the stage of their design and deciding on the coordinates of the installation site of the transmitter-receiver antennas based on modeling and visualization of the expected underwater communication zones using intelligent geographic information systems. The influence of the quality of information support of geographic information systems on the accuracy of the calculation results of the expected zones of underwater communication in various hydrological and acoustic conditions is assessed. Research subject. The article is devoted to the issues of evaluating the efficiency of underwater communication and intellectual decision-making support for rational spatial distribution of receiving and transmitting antennas of underwater communication systems with immersed correspondent objects. Method. A method for optimizing (choosing a rational option) the spatial distribution of receiving and transmitting antennas of positional underwater communications or the depth of setting of lowered and towed antennas of marine underwater communications using specialized software and information tools and geographic information systems is considered. Core results. A new performance indicator is proposed in the form of the spatial volume of the underwater communication zone and a method has been developed to optimize the spatial distribution of the receiving and transmitting antennas according to the criterion of the maximum volume of the expected underwater communication zone for given hydrological and acoustic conditions in the area. Practical relevance. The introduction of the developed method into the systems of sonar calculations and automated decision support for advanced underwater communication systems will significantly reduce the decision-making time for the placement of antennas (when designing or planning applications) and increase the efficiency (stability and range) of underwater communication means with immersed objects - correspondents.

Visual perception is profoundly modulated by spatial attention, which can selectively prioritize goal-related information. Previous studies found spatial attention facilitated the efficacy of neuronal communication between visual cortices with hierarchical organizations. In the primary visual cortex (V1), there is also a hierarchical connection between simple (S) and complex (C) cells. We wonder whether and how spatial attention modulates neuronal communication within V1, especially for neuronal pairs with heterogeneous visual input. We simultaneously recorded the pairs’ activity from macaque monkeys when they performed a spatial-attention-involved task, then applied likelihood-based Granger causality analysis to explore attentional modulation of neuronal interactions. First, a significant attention-related decrease in Granger causality was found in S-C pairs, which primarily displayed in the S-to-C feedforward connection. Second, the interaction strength of the feedforward connection was significantly higher than that of the feedback under attend toward (AT) conditions. Although information flow did not alter as the attentional focus shifted, the strength of communications between target- and distractor-stimuli-covered neurons differed only when attending to complex cells’ receptive fields (RFs). Furthermore, pairs’ communications depended on the attentional modulation of neurons’ firing rates. Our findings demonstrate spatial attention does not induce specific information flow but rather amplifies directed communication within V1.

The study examined the transformation of mass communication classical model developed by G. Lasswell: who speaks? who is he talking to? What does he say? on what channel? with what effect? Operationalization of these variables is taking place within main institutionalized communication spheres — journalism, advertising, public relations, as well as in the institutionalized sphere — media communications. The participants of communications in journalism, advertising, public relations and media communications have their own special characteristics. The last three are the most diversified in media communications. The emergence and active development of the virtual public environment in its two varieties — the public sphere proper and the maintenance sphere influenced the composition of the actors of this environment and the implementation and ways of implementing the category of authorship in public communication. We also identify various specific content consumers in mass communications. Main features of social information that form content — initiation, optimization, selectivity and relevance — are implemented in four communication spheres in different ways. In modern system of mass communications, it is possible to define a system of messages created by the actor of communication as a form of a certain communication product — a visual communication product, a communication tool product, a prosumer communication product. One of the most important features of modern communications in digital space is their peer-to-peer nature, and use of mobile technology as the main channel. The study of modern mass communications in their component analysis makes it possible to specify individual and common features of social institutions of journalism, advertising and public relations and reveal the characteristics of institutionalized communication practices — media communications. G. Lasswell's model will allow us to build a correct spatial model of the functioning of a modern mass communications system.

Tous vecteurs confondus, ce sont les drones, notamment les multirotor, qui ont connu le plus fort développement pour l'acquisition d'images aériennes durant les cinq dernières années. L'imagerie accessible par ce type de plate-forme répond à un besoin de cartographie à une échelle intermédiaire entre l'imagerie submétrique (satellite à très haute résolution spatiale ou vecteurs aériens comme les ULM et certains drones) et l'imagerie acquise à très basse altitude à des résolutions parfois inférieures au centimètre. Par son prix élevé, l'imagerie submétrique aérienne et satellitaire laisse un grand nombre de besoins sans réponse acceptable. Parmi eux, citons l'imagerie à petit budget demandée par les collectivités locales ou les suivis denses (en particulier temporels). Finalement, la réglementation récente a encadré les vols drones de manière très contraignante, mettant virtuellement hors-la-loi tous les acteurs occasionnels d'imagerie par drone.L'objectif de cette communication est de présenter une méthode simple, opérationnelle et à bas coût pour la prise de vue aérienne. Il s'agit d'utiliser le cerf-volant comme vecteur alternatif aux aéronefs sans pilote. Le cerf-volant (avec le ballon) fait partie des premières plates-formes utilisées historiquement pour la photographie aérienne. Il a connu un regain d'intérêt depuis les années 70-80 avec de nombreuses applications en archéologie et la disponibilité depuis les années 2000 de capteurs et logiciels abordables et performants le rend plus attractif encore. La méthode proposée ici permet la cartographie de superficies dépassant le kilomètre carré à une résolution décimétrique. Elle présente un certain nombre d'atouts, comme le coût modique de la plate-forme et la capacité de voler sur une très large plage de vents (de 5 à 40km/h), un cerf-volant de six à dix mètres carrés ayant la même charge utile qu'un drone pour une autonomie supérieure. Enrevanche, la principale difficulté de mise en oeuvre opérationnelle du cerf-volant pour la cartographie par image aérienneest le manque de contrôle du vecteur, ce qui pose quelques verrous au niveau de l'acquisition et du traitement des données.Nous présentons dans cette communication les avancées méthodologiques réalisées afin de dépasser ces limites.Nous détaillons tout d'abord la méthode d'acquisition développée et le mode opératoire mis en oeuvre pour obtenir des jeux de données image permettant la cartographie opérationnelle de zones d'intérêt. Ensuite, nous présentons les traitements effectués à l'aide de logiciels désormais abordables qui permettent le calcul de l'aérotriangulation et de la corrélation dense sur plusieurs centaines d'images. A mobilidade se apresenta como fenômeno marcante na compreensão das mudanças socioespaciais, relacionadas à expansão do capital e força de trabalho no estágio mais recente da produção capitalista do espaço. O objetivo deste artigo é analisar os aspectos mais recentes da mobilidade da força de trabalho, sua essência e transformações advindas com a expansão geográfica do capital sobre o globo. Nesse contexto enfoca-se a mobilidade da força de trabalho como um fenômeno marcante quando se analisa um recorte espacial, haja vista que no contexto do processo de globalização, as mobilidades de um modo geral, são afetadas pelo desenvolvimento de sistemas técnicos de transportes e comunicação. A mobilidade da força de trabalho, vista para além do deslocamento, nos fez avançar na compreensão das transformações recentes, resultantes do processo de globalização, relacionadas ao mundo do trabalho nas múltiplas escalas. Assim, a mobilidade da força de trabalho, fenômeno intrínseco à produção capitalista do espaço, adquire novos conteúdos, unidos por um viés comum: a sua expansão geográfica cada vez mais aliada à expansão do capital.

ABSTRACT
Mobility presents itself as a remarkable phenomenon in the understanding of socio-spatial changes related to the expansion of capital and labor power in the most recent stage of capitalist production of space. The objective of this article is to analyze the most recent aspects of labor mobility, its essence and transformations arising from the geographical expansion of capital on the globe. In this context, mobility of the workforce is focused as a marked phenomenon when analyzing a spatial cut, given that in the context of the globalization process, mobility in general is affected by the development of technical systems of transport and communication. Workforce mobility, seen beyond displacement, has made us advance in the understanding of recent transformations, resulting from the process of globalization, related to the world of work at multiple scales. Thus, the mobility of the labor force, a phenomenon intrinsic to the capitalist production of space, acquires new contents, united by a common bias: its geographical expansion increasingly allied with the expansion of capital.

La movilidad se presenta como un fenómeno marcante en la comprensión de los cambios socioespaciales, relacionados con la expansión del capital y la fuerza de trabajo en la etapa más reciente de la producción capitalista del espacio. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar los aspectos más recientes de la movilidad de la fuerza de trabajo, su esencia y transformaciones derivadas de la expansión geográfica del capital sobre el globo. En este contexto se enfoca la movilidad de la fuerza de trabajo como un fenómeno marcante cuando se analiza un recorte espacial, ya que, en el contexto del proceso de globalización, las movilidades, en general, se ven afectadas por el desarrollo de los sistemas técnicos de transporte y comunicación. La movilidad de la fuerza de trabajo, vista más allá del desplazamiento, nos ha hecho avanzar en la comprensión de las transformaciones recientes, resultantes del proceso de globalización, relacionadas al mundo del trabajo en las múltiples escalas. Así, la movilidad de la fuerza de trabajo, fenómeno intrínseco a la producción capitalista del espacio, adquiere nuevos contenidos, unidos por un bies común: su expansión geográfica cada vez más asociada a la expansión del capital.

La mobilité se présente comme un phénomène remarquable dans la compréhension des changements socio-spatiaux liés à l'expansion du capital et de la main-d'œuvre au stade le plus récent de la production capitaliste de l'espace. L'objectif de cet article est d'analyser les aspects les plus récents de la mobilité de la main-d'œuvre, son essence et les transformations résultant de l'expansion géographique du capital dans le monde. Dans ce contexte, la mobilité de la main-d'œuvre est soulignée comme un phénomène remarquable lors de l'analyse d'un profil spatial, étant donné que dans le contexte du processus de mondialisation, la mobilité en général est affectée par le développement des systèmes techniques de transport et de communication. La mobilité de la main-d'œuvre, vue au-delà du déplacement, nous a fait progresser dans la compréhension des transformations récentes, résultant du processus de mondialisation, liées au monde du travail à plusieurs échelles. Ainsi, la mobilité de la main-d'œuvre, phénomène intrinsèque à la production capitaliste de l'espace, acquiert de nouveaux contenus, unis par un biais commun: son expansion géographique de plus en plus combinée à l'expansion du capital.

The article determines the semiotic nature of the spatial structure of the modern city, clarifies the reasons and conditions of its transformation under the influence of intangible factors. The city is determined by the main expression of the spatial structure, oriented to the person. Despite the unity and integrity of the city, its internal organization indicates the presence of a sufficient number of relatively autonomous elements and a variety of communication links that carry a semantic and value load. Based on the fact that the city and its space have always been a synthesis of various functional processes, united by one or another system of communications, the relationship between them was influenced by tangible and intangible factors. At the same time, the intangible is what unites the city at the existing semantic level. Historically, it was the presence of a spiritual or cultural center in the settlement that gave it urban status. Functional indicators of the intangible are defined as a person's desire to remain part of this space, to form its structure. It is established that if the material component of the city is formed in the process of interconnection of existing stationary processes and communication links, the intangible - gives the existing processes a value aspect, and at the same time acts as one of the elements of communication. If in the material sense communications are roads, means of communication, engineering and technological networks, etc., then intangible communications are faith, and also associative connection of each inhabitant of the city, with this city, its space, understanding of needs of development of city territory. Intangible communication forms a set of symbols, which ultimately make it possible to develop a "brand" of the city as an ideal space. The formed intangible semiotic signs of the city encode the perception and understanding of the human environment. Thanks to the signs, a person gives the surrounding space certain meanings, there is a distinction of own (personal, individual) space and its relationship with the space of another person, with the space of all city dwellers, as well as with the spatial structure of the city or urban system. It is established that the city as a living space has undergone a long evolution and transformation of all structures, the end result of which was the formation of a separate urban space as a self-sufficient clearly separated area, where the functional level of human life.

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> Emergency preparedness is a fundamental component of a successful emergency management strategy. This includes a proactive communication strategy that informs all stakeholders of the emergency plan and helps translate that knowledge to real spaces. Communicating multilevel built environments can be difficult, as the architectural complexity creates problems for both visual and mental representations of networks in 3D space. Modern mobile technology offers emerging opportunities for emergency managers to develop and deploy 3D visualizations of multilevel spaces that preserve the topology of those spaces while adding the spatial context that allows the individual to better understand their position within it. In this paper, we present a collection of mixed reality (specifically augmented reality) geovisualizations that overcome the visual limitations associated with the traditional static 2D methods of communicating the evacuation plans of multilevel structures. We demonstrate how this technology can provide spatially contextualized 3D geovisualizations that promote spatial knowledge acquisition and support cognitive mapping. These geovisualizations are designed as a proactive emergency management tool to educate and prepare at risk populations prior to the occurrence of a hazardous event.</p>

This paper reports the results of a multi-agent simulation designed to study the emergence and evolution of symbolic communication. The novelty of this model is that it considers some interactional and spatial constraints to this process that have been disregarded by previous research. The model is used to give an account of the implications of differences in the agents' behavior, which are embodied in a spatial environment. Two communicational dimensions are identified: the frequency with which agents refer to different topics over time and the spatial limitations on reaching recipients. We use the model to point out some interesting emergent communicational properties when the agents' behavior is altered by considering those two dimensions. We show the group of agents able to reach more recipients and less prone to changing the topic have the highest likelihood of driving the emergence and evolution of symbolic communication.

In the last three decades, light’s orbital angular momentum (OAM) has been of great interest because it has unique characteristics that make it sought after in many research fields, especially in optical communications. To address the exponentially increasing demands for higher data rates and capacity in optical communication systems, OAM has emerged as an additional degree of freedom for multiplexing and transmitting multiple independent data streams within a single spatial mode using the spatial division multiplexing (SDM) technology. Innumerable research findings have proven to scale up the channel capacity of communication links by a very high order of magnitude, allowing it to circumvent the reaching of optical fiber’s non-linear Shannon limit. This review paper provides a background and overview of OAM beams, covering the fundamental concepts, the various OAM generators, and the recent experimental and commercial applications of the OAM-SDM multiplexing technique in optical communications.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is expected to foster the development of 5G wireless networks and requires the efficient support for a large number of simultaneous short message communications. To address these challenges, some existing works utilize new waveform and multiuser superposition transmission schemes to improve the capacity of IoT communication. In this paper, we will investigate the spatial degree of freedom of IoT devices based on their distribution, then extend the multiuser shared access (MUSA) which is one of the typical MUST schemes to spatial domain, and propose two novel schemes, that is, the preconfigured access scheme and the joint spatial and code domain scheduling scheme, to enhance IoT communication. The results indicate that the proposed schemes can reduce the collision rate dramatically during the IoT random access procedure and improve the performance of IoT communication obviously. Based on the simulation results, it is also shown that the proposed scheduling scheme can achieve the similar performance to the corresponding brute-force scheduling but with lower complexity.

The development of marketing strategies based on temporal and spatial student’s distribution is extremely important in order to win a niche in the market of educational services. The object of the study is information about the place of origin of the Henan Institute of Science and Technology students in 2016 and 2020. The data used are provided by the Office of Academic Affairs of Henan Institute of Science and Technology, which selects identity data of students admitted and registered at the university in 2016 and 2020. The temporal and spatial distribution and spatial aggregation characteristics of the student enrolments are analyzed, as well as factors affecting the quality of the student flows, such as geographic location, total number of students per year, and publicity. The paper uses spatial data analysis (ESDA), which determines the spatial weight between districts. Global Moran’s I index was used for spatial analysis. The analysis carried out on the example of Henan province showed that the number of graduates in each city in a given year directly affects the number of university entrants (in 2020, the largest number of school graduates was recorded in the cities of Zhoukou and Nanyang, which had the highest number of university entrants). The spatial arrangement of colleges and universities is identified as the main factor influencing the recruitment of students of each educational institution. The choice of colleges and universities by applicants and their parents in China is also determined by proximity to large cities, convenient transportation, and employment opportunities. It has been established that advertising educational services of universities is also an additional factor in their popularization and attraction of students. The important achievements and characteristics of the school should be highly summarized to ensure that all the information on the school brand is spread in the whole domain in a comprehensive manner. Different media should be selected for different students from different places. Attention should be paid to the use of new media such as WeChat, Micro-blog, Tiktok etc. Also, a significant role should be given to interpersonal communication and mobilization of the enthusiasm of graduates to increase the popularity of a particular educational institution. Colleges and universities should reflect on themselves, correct in time, and actively establish a complete, effective, and dynamic evaluation mechanism for marketing, to improve marketing strategies, including through surveys of graduates, students, parents and other stakeholders of higher education.

The present study examined the advantage of Rapid Communication (RAP-COM) Display Technology over conventional spatially arrayed displays in the context of secondary task demands. This research represents an early step in assessing the use of RAP-COM display techniques in multi-task environments. Eight subjects were instructed to respond to briefly presented visual stimuli, while concurrently performing an unstable tracking task at two levels of difficulty. Duration thresholds, obtained using a moment-to-moment adaptive tracking performance procedure, were collected for RAP-COM and spatially arrayed displays while RMS error scores were collected from the unstable tracking task performance. Information transfer rates for the RAP-COM technique were faster than for the spatially distributed array under both the single and dual task conditions. Regardless of secondary tracking task difficulty, subjects were able to maintain primary task performance levels on RAP-COM and spatial display tasks, although a decrement in tracking performance was seen.

The paper investigates the communication gaps in the public spaces of post-Soviet cities (from the perspective of business-government-society interaction) through the spatial paradigm lens of urban sociology coupled with the perspective of communications studies. The author analyzes the particularities of the spatial organization of post-Soviet cities; describes the main features of their urban public space; and examines their impact on the patterns of social interactions. The paper presents the results of empirical research into the government-business relationship, using the case of Minsk, the capital city of Belarus. The author specifically focuses on the instances of communicative dysfunction (i.e. communication gaps) as the manifestation of social distance, exploring its nature from the perspective of the concept of “a Stranger”. The findings point at a need to supplement the local communities with local public communication channels and content.
