Abstract:
In current business management, diversification strategy is often connected to the possibility of creating a competitive advantage, based mainly on a wide range of production benefits. One of the critical factors to initiate diversification is the increasing frequency of changes in a company’s environment, and also an increase in competitive pressure expressed by shortening a product’s life cycle. As a result, the advantages resulting from both vertical and horizontal process integration are reduced. Because there are usually more innovative ideas to widen a business’ activities than it would be normally possible to implement, it is essential to choose the ideas with the largest potential for commercial success. This article focuses on the design of classifiers that would enable the selection of designs for diversification, with the potential for commercial success.

Abstract:
Commercial and corporate activities and the income they generate are of increasing importance to all UK higher education institutions. For new or modern university business schools in particular, the falling unit of resource attaching to undergraduate student teaching income and the virtual disappearance of research revenues as a result of the poor results in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise have combined to produce a scenario in which commercial activity is likely to be an increasing priority as business schools attempt to remain effective and solvent. While there has been considerable research into management development in general, there has been very little research into the structuring and operation of commercial activity in new university business schools. Indeed, what research there has been into university commercial activity has examined all UK universities at a level of aggregation that makes it impossible to determine levels of business school commercialization, let alone the level of individual performance. The research presented in this paper focuses on the commercial activity of new university business schools and reveals findings about the nature and choice of strategy, product portfolio, delivery, client expectations, organization and management structure. The evidence suggests that many business schools have a considerable way to go if they are to grow commercial revenue in what will be an increasingly competitive and volatile market.

Abstract:
The article deals with eSports as a perspective kind of commercial activity. The research urgency is determined by the fact that, given the active increase of eSports market with growth rates of more than 30% per year, the types of commercial activities in this field and in scientific papers are not studied in an adequate degree. The purpose of the article is to evaluate the commercial activity development in eSports and to determine the perspectives for its further growth in Ukraine. In order to determine the key types of commercial activity in eSports, the main sources of revenue in this area compared to sports were investigated, which showed a large unrealized potential for increasing revenues from the sale of tickets to competitions, the realization of broadcasting rights and merchandising. The study also showed that the largest number of income sources in eSports is at the stage of cyber-tournaments, which can be explained by a large consumer audience at this stage. However, unlike the esports world practice, computer game producers and well-known manufacturers of consumer goods in Ukraine do not finance domestic competitions, and, therefore, this stage of commercial activity remains at a low level. In modern conditions, among the types of eSports activities in Ukraine, only the computer games production and the cyber-racers game are properly developed. According to authors, to improve the eSports development in Ukraine, creating the national system of regular eSports competitions is needed, which will form the basis for the development of most types of commercial activities that are part of the cyber-tournaments. To do this, one needs to create appropriate platforms, as well as improve communications with fans in social networks and at amateur competitions. All this will make eSports a highly profitable business in Ukraine.

Abstract:
The focus of this paper is the analysis of spatio-temporal patterns of commercial activities in the area of Exarchia-Neapoli, in Athens, during the last decade. A significant downturn during the financial crisis has left its mark on commerce along with all other sectors of the economy in Greece. However, there is poor geographical analysis up to this date, depicting the changes in spatial concentration and dispersion of shops, flourishing and decaying sectors and their spatial footprint. The main purpose of this study is to reveal these transformations in a central mixed-use neighborhood of Athens. The type of commercial activity of ground floor stores and offices in the area is recorded at three different points in time (2009, 2014, 2019). After the collection and categorization of data, spatial analysis was carried out using geostatistical indicators such as mean center and standard deviational ellipse and spatial patterns were determined through nearest neighbor analysis. Τhe analysis over space and time reveals trends and patterns of clustering and avoidance respectively, both within commercial uses and between different ones. Furthermore, their correlation with the centrality of the network (space syntax analysis) reveals not only proximity relationships, but also their strength and resilience over time. Finally, we discuss our findings in relation to the dynamics of commerce in the Exarchia area and propose scaled-up research opportunities.

Abstract:
Aim: To explore the bioactivities of commercial fragrances. Materials & methods: The antimicrobial activity of 25 commercial fragrances was assessed with pathogenic bacteria and fungi in vapor phase. Inflammatory response was evaluated by the measurement of cytokines. Results: Several fragrances were able to kill the microorganisms. Moreover, preparations of binary mixtures of the most active fragrances showed a synergistic effect. Regarding the inflammatory response, none of the tested fragrances showed a pro-inflammatory response, but two fragrances upregulated the secretion of IL-10 from macrophages. Conclusion: The antimicrobial activities of fragrances represent a new approach to control airborne pathogens.

Abstract:
Information behaviour of people differs according to the nature of their tasks and other activities they engage in. Therefore, the study of information behaviour is essential for different classes of individuals in the society. This study investigated the information behaviour of commercial taxi drivers in Saki, Nigeria. Survey design was adopted. Thirty-five taxi drivers were interviewed. The drivers had a variety of information needs, ranging from general information to specific information about their jobs. Interpersonal sources of information, which include discussion with friends, colleagues, and family members, were the preferred sources of information. They listened to radio and watched television, but at a very minimal level. The low educational status of the drivers was identified as a major cause of their reliance on interpersonal sources of information. The taxi drivers shared information among themselves during meetings, relaxation periods, and casual discussions. The use of the Internet to seek and share information was rare among the drivers.

The inhibitory effects of five commercial extracts (Allium sativum, Chamaemelum nobile, Thymus vulgaris, Zingiber officinale and Ricinus communis ) against Alternaria alternata were tested three concentrations (2.5, 5, 12.5 µl/ml) in vitro. T. vulgaris and R.communis extracts both exhibited the most effective antifungal activity against A. alternate with diameter of inhibition zones of 54 mm. The C. nobile extract exhibited a lower degree of inhibition 24.5 to 45 mm at three concentrations. The antifungal indices of T. vulgaris and R.communis extracts at three concentrations against A. alternata were all 98.14%, while this of C. nobile extract was 43.52% at 12.5 µl/ml. The results show that the five commercial extracts have potential for the development of natural antifungal agents, which could be an alternative to chemicals for control of phytopathogenic fungi on fruits or vegetables.
