Abstract:
Optimized Planning and Scheduling of Pressure Equipment Inspections at Comah Establishments.In a process establishment, where the legislation on the control of major accidents hazard (COMAH) is enforced, the operator's duties include the implementation of a Safety Management System, which addresses all the procedures significant for safety. A critical issue of the SMS is the planning and the scheduling of mechanical integrity inspections on pressure equipment. This is due to high number of components — including pipes, unfired and fired vessels, pumps and valves, — which could require different technical and organization procedures for testing or inspection. Usually, mechanical integrity inspections may request higher resource use than other safety related activities. The paper presents a model for inspection planning and scheduling, in order to integrate safety issues with other technical and economical issues.

Abstract:
“De-energise to trip” is a long established principle because of the danger of common cause failures. Although there is little published on this topic, it is covered in the section “Protection systems (trips and interlocks)” in the HSE Technical Measure Document for COMAH sites, but the quality of UPS, diagnostics etc. is now very different from the last century. As well as the obvious effects of architecture, failure modes and frequency on the number of spurious trips and failures to dangers, we have also studied the relationships between design policies, (for example, overrides and diagnostic coverage), testing policies, repair policies, operating policies and their effects on common cause failures. The effects of different policies on spurious trips and failures to danger would be illustrated with practical examples from the energy industry: oil and gas production and power stations.

Abstract:
Abstract Coma is one of the most common ocular higher order aberrations and highly affects the quality of image. It is assumed that corneal aberrations are balanced by internal (lenticular) aberrations so that retinal image quality may not have great impact. However, during accommodation, the shape, position, and curvature of the crystalline lens changes which might disrupt this balance between internal and corneal aberration. This study aimed to investigate the effect of accommodation on primary coma ( C 3 − 1 and C 3 1 ) and secondary coma ( C 5 − 1 and C 5 1 ) in relaxed and accommodated eyes. Zernike coefficients were measured in 53 subjects with Hartmann-Shack aberrometer both at the central and peripheral retina up to 30° off-axis in horizontal and vertical meridians. The process was repeated with 2.50 D accommodation stimulus and comas were compared with and without accommodation. Root-mean-square of total coma was also assessed. With accommodation, vertical comas changed to more negative value and horizontal comas changed to more positive values in most of the off-axis positions. In contrast, the secondary vertical comas became less negative and secondary horizontal comas became more negative with accommodation in most of the off-axis fixations. Thus, the results showed that accommodation affects coma which depends up on position of the fixation.

Abstract:
We present the first observations of outbursting comet C/2015 ER61 (PANSTARRS) with the Multi-Unit Spectroscopic Explorer (MUSE). The comet was observed on April 9, 2017, only five days after it underwent a significant outburst during which the total brightness increased by a factor of ~7.5. Based on the MUSE observations, we produce simultaneous maps of the CN, C2, NH2 comae, and the dust coma. In turn, we applied image enhancement techniques in order to reveal features in the coma. By comparing the coma morphology for the dust and CN, C2, and NH2, we investigate the release mechanism of those gas species in the coma of comet ER61. We present evidence that NH2 could be released by icy or organic-rich dust grains.

El Proyecto consiste en una Biblioteca Pública que cuente con los servicios básicos para ser un soporte educativo en la zona, con un centro de Difusión Cultural y oficinas de Desarrollo y Ayuda social para los habitantes de las zonas periféricas del distrito del Comas, se ha tenido en cuenta las zonas más necesitadas del distrito para que la biblioteca no sea un edificio con fines educativos únicamente, sino como un eje de desarrollo en las partes más necesitadas de este sector de la ciudad. Uno de los motivos para la realización de este proyecto es porque actualmente en el país, el servicio de soporte educativo, en especial en distritos de la periferia de la ciudad que además enfrentan otros problemas sociales que afectan directamente a la población. Lo que este proyecto busca, es impactar de manera positiva un sector con alta vulnerabilidad social, estudiando sus necesidades específicas y proponiendo soluciones que incrementen su desarrollo como personas y de su comunidad de la mano de la educación. Cambiar el panorama de pobreza y falta de oportunidades. Para ello se seguirá el concepto de Parque – Biblioteca, aplicado en las zonas más necesitadas de Medellín, y que ha tenido mucho éxito como impacto social, económico y político. Y que se ha vuelto un fenómeno positivo en una cuidad golpeada por problemas de violencia e inseguridad. Partiendo de esta similitud de realidades, y con los resultados obtenidos a lo largo del tiempo es que se ha elegido este concepto nuevo de Biblioteca Pública para el desarrollo del tema de Proyecto Profesional Para el diseño de espacios innovadores en la biblioteca, fue necesario investigar sobre nuevas tipologías de espacios educativos, que ayuden al visitante a mejorar su aprendizaje, haciéndolo cada vez más participativo y social, dentro de esta idea se desarrollaran las denominadas Calles del Aprendizaje o “Learning Streets”. Se ha elegido el distrito de Comas, debido a que es uno de los tantos distritos que no cuenta con un servicio apropiado de este tipo. A su vez la necesidad de servicios educativos de calidad, en zonas en expansión, crea una conciencia de desarrollo con visión en sus habitantes, y alejan la violencia y caos de sus realidades. Creando un campo para el encuentro y avance social de sus habitantes.

Abstract:
La biblioteca moderna dejo de ser un lugar de colecciones y hoy en día se considera un espacio de aprendizaje constante, que tiene como principal función el reunir, crear, proteger y transmitir información; por lo que su programación funcional llega a ser más amplia y variada que la que usualmente se conoce en el medio. La Biblioteca Pública en Comas, reúne este nuevo concepto para satisfacer las necesidades a largo alcance y diversificar las actividades en su interior, en conexión con el entorno que la rodea. El partido arquitectónico del proyecto, nace del análisis de los criterios de accesibilidad, topografía, contexto y temas ambientales del emplazamiento. Existe una intención clara de unificar el espacio público con el interior del proyecto, mediante el concepto arquitectónico del espacio intermedio, sin perjudicar el funcionamiento de las actividades que se dan dentro de esta. En cuanto a la parte funcional, el programa se organiza siguiendo un criterio de transición de lo público a lo privado, respetando siempre las circulaciones diferenciadas del público y servicio. La Biblioteca Pública en Comas finalmente se resume como un proyecto detonador de cultura, conocimiento y recreación para el distrito de Comas.
Contemporary libraries are not longer an exclusive place for collections; moreover, they are currently considered as spaces for constant learning with the main functions of gather, create, protect and spread information. Thus, its functional programming has become broader and more diverse than it used to be. The public library in Comas includes this new concept in order to satisfy the long-term needs and diversify the activities according to the changing society. The architectonic concept of the project raises from the analysis of the criteria of availability, topography, context and environmental topics of the location. There is a clear intention to unify the public space with the inner area through the intermediate space vision without the interruption of the activities inside this area. Regarding the functional part, the agenda is organized according to a transition criterion from public to private, always following their respective transit. The public library in Comas is eventually curtailed as a triggering project for culture, knowledge and leisure for Comas district.

Abstract:
La presente Tesis indaga sobre las imágenes y visiones de los jóvenes de un distrito popular como Comas, respecto a Lima y los limeños, al Perú y los peruanos, así como sobre sí mismos y su distrito, sus expectativas y perspectivas. La Tesis ha buscado conocer cómo se percibe el tema de la identidad nacional e identidad limeña, desde la visión de los jóvenes de los sectores populares, para identificar caminos que posibiliten avanzar en el fortalecimiento de nuestra idea de nación y en la construcción de una identidad regional limeña, que recoja el sentir de estos jóvenes. La investigación se localizó en el Pueblo Joven “La Libertad” – Sector La Balanza, ubicado a la altura del Km. 11 de la Av. Tupac Amaru – Comas, zona donde se inició la ocupación del distrito, allá por la década de los años 60. Se sustenta en una metodología cualitativa, en base a entrevistas abiertas, con una guía de preguntas, hechas a jóvenes de 17 a 29 años de edad, residentes en la localidad de estudio. Se entrevistó a 21 jóvenes de ambos sexos, entre enero del 2001 y febrero del 2002. En algunos casos, se volvió luego a entrevistar a los jóvenes, para profundizar sus apreciaciones sobre los temas estudiados. Se presentan 5 conceptos centrales: Identidad, Nación y Nacionalismo, Juventud, Generación y Representación Social, como referentes teóricos de los temas tratados. En la Tesis, se podrá observar que las respuestas de los jóvenes entrevistados a las interrogantes que les planteamos tienen un significado común cuando se trata de jóvenes de 17 a 22 años, y otro cuando se trata de jóvenes de 26 a 29 años. Las respuestas de los jóvenes de edad intermedia (23 a 25 años) se ubican en un lado u otro de las apreciaciones formuladas por esos dos grupos de jóvenes mencionados, por ello no se les ha considerando como un grupo diferenciado. En ese sentido, en la Tesis se clasifica a los jóvenes de menor edad (17 a 22 años) y a los de mayor edad (26 a 29 años) como prácticamente “dos generaciones”, no porque cronológicamente lo sean, sino porque en sus opiniones y apreciaciones sobre los temas abordados, se evidencia una diferencia significativa, que se puede explicar por la influencia que recibieron, siendo aún niños, de dos épocas distintas, la de fines de los años 70 unos (signada por la solidaridad y lucha colectiva), y la de inicio de los años 90 otros (signada por el nuevo predominio del liberalismo económico). Entre los hallazgos principales que presenta la Tesis se encuentran: 1. En los jóvenes de Comas, especialmente los de menor edad (17 a 22 años) se ha configurado una nueva actitud hacia la ciudad de Lima, actitud más abierta a asumirse parte de la ciudad, a diferencia de la generación de jóvenes de mayor edad (26 a 29 años), que a pesar de haber nacido en Lima, no desarrollaron una identidad limeña. 2. La reivindicación actual de los jóvenes de Comas es por ciudadanía, por el derecho a ser reconocidos como peruanos con iguales derechos. Su lucha no es ya por reivindicaciones sociales y colectivas, como en la generación anterior de jóvenes, que luchaban por servicios básicos para el barrio y el distrito. 3. La imagen predominante del país en los jóvenes de Comas es que el Perú es un país desunido, cuyos habitantes no son solidarios entre sí, imagen que evidenciaría que la construcción de la identidad nacional es una tarea vigente y pendiente, desde la visión de los jóvenes de sectores populares.

Abstract:
Propuesta arquitectónica enfocado en los jóvenes, quienes ocupan el 51% de la población del distrito en donde se emplaza el proyecto. Se busca que este ofrezca actividades culturales, educativas, laborales, informativas y de bienestar social, siendo estos un apoyo complementario a su formación como personas. Por otro lado, se busca que los jóvenes del distrito, que cuenten con problemas sociales como pandillaje, robo o drogadicción, puedan llegar y ser atendidos en este Centro por personal de la municipalidad y del programa CEDRO, ayudándolos con consultas psicológicas y luego de un proceso, puedan reinsertase a la sociedad de manera productiva, generando que las altas tasas de problemas sociales puedan reducir. El proyecto busca ser un nuevo punto de servicio para el distrito, ubicándose en una zona de usos mixtos en donde se encuentran viviendas, comercio zonal y colegios, foco principal en donde captar el público objetivo, los jóvenes. Se dividirá en 2 zonas una privada en donde se encuentra la residencia y otra pública donde se ubican la biblioteca, auditorio y talleres. Ambas zonas estará unidas por un gran patio, un espacio público que estará contenido por el complejo, con actividades que permitan la mayor interacción entre los vecinos de Comas.

Abstract:
El presente trabajo tiene como base la investigación de los criterios y pautas que se van a tomar en el desarrollo del proyecto profesional de un Centro de Desarrollo Comunitario en el distrito de Comas, en el cual se logre la interacción con su ciudad por medio una arquitectura permeable. Se parte del análisis de las necesidades en la ciudad, la cual en la actualidad posee una disgregación en el acceso de los servicios en sectores donde existen mayores niveles de pobreza, generando de esta manera una variedad de problemáticas tales como la inseguridad o la pérdida del tejido social en la población afectada. A partir de los problemas presentados, se plantearon espacios para lograr una mejora en la calidad de vida de las personas en una comunidad; sin embargo, el diseño presentado no logra el vínculo con los habitantes del lugar generando el desinterés y poca afluencia en los Centros. Por medio del análisis de referenciales tanto al nivel nacional e internacional de la tipología y en énfasis del proyecto, se propone una a infraestructura que logre las funciones básicas de los Centros Comunitarios y, a su vez, permite por medios formales y espaciales logre la interacción con el usuario.
The present work is based on the investigation of the criteria and guidelines to be taken in the development of the professional project of a Community Development Center in the Comas district, in which interaction with your city is achieved through an architecture permeable. It starts from the analysis of the needs in the city, which currently has a disaggregation in the access of services in sectors where there are higher levels of poverty, thus generating a variety of problems such as insecurity or loss of social fabric in the affected population. Based on the problems presented, spaces were proposed to achieve an improvement in the quality of life of people in a community; However, the design presented does not achieve the link with the inhabitants of the place, generating disinterest and little influx in the Centers. Through the analysis of benchmarks both at the national and international level of the typology and in emphasis of the project, an infrastructure is proposed that achieves the basic functions of the Community Centers and, in turn, allows for formal and spatial means to achieve interaction with the user.

Se propone una Escuela Superior para la formación Teatral en todas las disciplinas artísticas: Actuación, Diseño (decorado, vestuario, proyección y sonido), dirección, producción y gestión del teatro. La escuela contempla: Espacios fundamentales para el aprendizaje del alumno actor y su formación teatral profesional global (que abarca desde los textos clásicos de Shakespeare hasta Chekhov para nuevas obras). Espacios de experimentación que se adaptan al contexto cultural de Comas: Un Teatro tipo “Black-box” por su característica experimental y una Sala polivalente de doble altura para el ensayo de diferentes disciplinas juntas. Espacios extraescénicos interiores (espacios en área libre, espacios entre pabellones) y exteriores (espacios urbanos) dentro del terreno de la escuela.

Abstract:
Se propone una Aldea Infantil SOS en Lima Norte, distrito de Comas. Este distrito es el 4to distrito con mayor población de Lima y el segundo de Lima Norte con alrededor de 524 mil 894 habitantes según INEI. Este distrito tiene un margen de pobreza de 16%, ocupando el sexto lugar de Lima Norte y además en ocupar el tercer lugar en tener 3.9 áreas verdes/ hab., los dos primeros lo encabezan los distritos de Santa Rosa (18 mil 751 hab.) y Los Olivos (distrito menos pobre de Lima Norte: 9,75%). Hoy Lima Norte posee las características que facilitará el desarrollo del proyecto en sí, ya que cuenta con grandes extensiones de terrenos que pueden suplir la necesidad para abarcar el tamaño de que la edificación requiere y sigue siendo un sector de Lima vulnerable en cuanto a situación de niños que son víctimas de rechazo, violencia y abandono. Para esto, se hizo primero un criterio de selección para poder elegir el distrito adecuado para la aldea en Lima Norte según Aldeas Infantiles SOS, de los cuales se rescataron 4 ítems básicos: Índice de pobreza, densidad poblacional, cantidad de áreas verdes y el índice de denuncias por maltrato familiar y abandono de hogar. Finalmente se terminó escogiendo Comas por tener las características que se requieren para el establecimiento de la aldea. Se tiene pensado la construcción de las aldeas infantiles no como los albergues tradicionales, sino mediante hogares agrupados que buscan asimilarse a la forma de vida de una familia.
An SOS Children's Village is proposed in Lima Norte, district of Comas. This is the 4th district with the largest population of Lima and the second one with around 524 thousand 894 inhabitants according to INEI. This district has a 16% of poverty margin occupying the sixth place in Lima Norte and the third place to have 3.9 green areas per inhabitants. The first one is Santa Rosa with 18,751 inhab.) and the second one is Los Olivos (less poor district of Lima Norte: 9.75%). Today Lima Norte has the characteristics that will facilitate the development of the project itself, since it has large areas of land that can cover the size of the building required and remains a vulnerable sector of Lima in terms of Children who are victims of rejection, violence and abandonment. For this, four evaluation criteria were able to choose the appropriate district of Lima Norte according to SOS Children´s Villages, from which were: Poverty index, population density, number of green areas and the index of complaints about domestic violence and abandonment of home. Finally, it was finished choosing Comas for having the characteristics that are required for the establishment of the village. The construction of SOS Children´s Villages is planned not as traditional shelters, but through grouped homes that seek to assimilate the way of life of a real family.

Abstract:
La presente tesis trata de una biblioteca pública de alcance interdistrital, respondiendo a la necesidad de Lima Norte de un espacio público que permita el intercambio sociocultural, y que al compartir e interactuar con diferentes usos como la comisaría, posta médica y nido incluidos en la propuesta, se agrega un valor cívico al proyecto y se refuerza el espacio público existente que converja diferentes tipos de usuarios invitados a hacer uso de la biblioteca pública, generando que funcione como una instrumento adicional a la educación brindando espacios y herramientas adecuadas que complementen las adquiridas en los centros educativos, y que incentiven la autoeducación de las personas. De esta manera, el proyecto de biblioteca pública + equipamiento urbano en Comas, se convierte en un espacio articulador urbano, social, educativo y cultural.
This thesis is about a public library of inter-district scope that responds to the need of Lima Norte for a public space that allows socio-cultural exchange, and that by sharing and interacting with different urban uses such as a police station, health center and kindergarten which are included in the design. This adds a civic value to the project and makes the existing public space, which converges different types of users who are invited to make use of the public library, reinforced. This generates that the public library can work as an additional instrument to education by providing adequate spaces and tools that complement those acquired in educational centers, encouraging the self-education of people. Abstract:
La manera de conducir los procesos de planificación y gestión ambiental del territorio al nivel local en la actualidad - a pesar de contar con un marco legal que las alienta- , presenta algunas limitaciones para su adecuada aplicación, debido principalmente a la ausencia de instrumentos técnico normativos mecanismos participativos que las consoliden, perdiendo efectividad e incidencia al ser implementados. Esta propuesta metodológica permite definir criterios y procedimientos de planificación para el acondicionamiento ambiental local, permitiendo una mejor gestión del desarrollo con incidencia en el territorio. Es así que la metodología propuesta tiene como objetivo constituirse en un instrumento guía de carácter técnico, político y participativo para la conducción de procesos de acondicionamiento ambiental local, partiendo de la compresión del territorio y su entorno, basada en la identificación y clasificación de zonas de riesgo ambiental, aplicable a diversos ámbitos en la escala distrital y provincial del país.´ Asimismo, la propuesta metodológica, es aplicada en el distrito de Comas, como una forma de mostrar de manera practica su implementación en el ámbito local. Del mismo modo la investigación desarrollada a ha permitido dar luces para articular los enfoques y metodologías utilizadas en el planeamiento urbano, en la mitigación y prevención de desastres y en los planes de gestión ambiental.

Abstract:
This paper describes a package of computer models that has been developed to assess the risks from gas releases at above ground installations associated with natural gas transmission pipelines. The package can be applied to compressor stations (containing compressor enclosures and associated gas treatment equipment) and pressure reduction stations, through to single block valve installations. It has been designed for used by safety engineers in performing quantified risk and hazard analysis, as required to meet regulatory requirements, such as the COMAH Regulations or the DSEAR Regulations in the UK. It can also be used in the design stage of projects to support decisions related to site layout for example. The package contains a range of mathematical models to assess the consequences of accidental releases of gas (including outflow, dispersion, gas accumulation, fire, explosion and thermal and overpressure response), validated by data from large and full scale experiments. The individual models are linked in a logical manner constructed around a series of “knowledge bases” that provide a defined structure to allow a wide range of different scenarios to be assessed. The predictions of the consequences arising from various scenarios can be combined with estimates of the frequency of initiating events (based on industry statistics where available, or using predictive models), in risk calculation routines which sum the outcomes for the different scenarios to calculate individual and/or societal risk. To illustrate the use of the techniques, examples of their application are given. In particular, it is shown how the risks arising from releases from high pressure vessels or in confined volumes, such as compressor enclosures, can be evaluated.
