Abstract:
The evolution of community colleges from their origins as junior colleges to institutions with dual missions to provide both academic and workforce preparation raises questions about the impact of a college’s mission focus on their students’ labor market success. We examine this question using the 58 colleges in the North Carolina Community College system as case study for community colleges nationally. We find that students from community colleges that specialize or focus on career objectives had higher labor market earnings; about one-fifth of the variation in students’ earnings across community colleges is due to the college’s mission focus. Other community college variables also enhance students’ earnings, such as institution size as well as having single-county service areas and low proportions of remedial students.

I use narrative historical data on site selection decisions for a subset of US colleges to identify runner-up locations that were strongly considered to become the sites of new colleges. Using runner-up counties as counterfactuals in a difference-in-difference model, I find that establishing a college causes 62 percent more patents per year. Linking patents to novel college yearbook data reveals that only 12 percent of patents in a college’s county came from that college’s alumni or faculty. I find only small differences in patenting between establishing colleges and establishing other institutions as well as between colleges with different focuses on technical fields. Abstract:
Recent policy and research efforts have focused on simplifying the college-going process, improving transparency around college costs, and helping students make informed decisions. In 2012, the Obama administration released the “shopping sheet,” a standardized financial aid offer that is intended to provide students with simplified information about costs, loan options, and college outcomes. This paper examines the impact of the shopping sheet (adopted by more than 400 four-year colleges in two years) using: (1) administrative data from a field experiment among admitted and already-enrolled students at a public university, and (2) college-level data from a quasi-experiment among four-year colleges. Findings provide some evidence that information in the shopping sheet relating a college's graduation rate to other colleges led to decreased borrowing at colleges with poor graduation outcomes. Additionally, the shopping sheet decreased borrowing at colleges that enroll high shares of students receiving federal student aid and underrepresented minority students. These findings indicate the shopping sheet may be particularly salient to students who traditionally face higher informational barriers during the college-going process.

Abstract:
Over the past few decades, the average college has not become more selective: the reverse is true, though not dramatically. People who believe that college selectivity is increasing may be extrapolating from the experience of a small number of colleges such as members of the Ivy League, Stanford, Duke, and so on. These colleges have experienced rising selectivity, but their experience turns out to be the exception rather than the rule. Only the top 10 percent of colleges are substantially more selective now than they were in 1962. Moreover, at least 50 percent of colleges are substantially less selective now than they were in 1962. To understand changing selectivity, we must focus on how the market for college education has re-sorted students among schools as the costs of distance and information have fallen. In the past, students' choices were very sensitive to the distance of a college from their home, but today, students, especially high-aptitude students, are far more sensitive to a college's resources and student body. It is the consequent re-sorting of students among colleges that has, at once, caused selectivity to rise in a small number of colleges while simultaneously causing it to fall in other colleges. This has had profound implications for colleges' resources, tuition, and subsidies for students. I demonstrate that the stakes associated with choosing a college are greater today than they were four decades ago because very selective colleges are offering very large per-student resources and per-student subsidies, enabling admitted students to make massive human capital investments.

Abstract:
Abstract The paper investigates difficulties involved in integrating online courses in academic colleges. Despite their growing prevalence in Israel and worldwide there are still no online courses offered as part of the learning process in many colleges. In order to identify factors for this phenomenon, a study was conducted to investigate the attitudes of 137 lecturers in an academic college concerning online courses. A questionnaire was employed to examine attitudes in four areas: cognizance of the online courses, willingness to teach these courses, influence of online courses on the college’s reputation and teaching methods in online courses. The study identified four sources of reluctance among college instructors to teach in these courses: lack of knowledge concerning teaching methods, fear of a heavy work burden, concern that students’ achievements might fall and impairment of the college’s reputation. Since there is desire to integrate online courses in academic colleges, it is recommended that an online pedagogy support centre should be opened in these colleges, and that colleges should consider making it mandatory for students to take at least one compulsory online course during their degree course.

Abstract:
This research aims to identify quality standards in physical education colleges in Libyan public universities, in relation with educational literature and the most important drivers of interest in implementing the quality assurance and accreditation system in universities. To achieve the research objectives, the descriptive method using the survey method was used. The sample consisted of ninety (90) individuals from the executive management in the colleges, thirty-eight (38) quality coordinators in the departments in the colleges, and fifty-two (52) department heads. In this research, a questionnaire form was applied that included four (4) axes and fifty-eight (58) statements, and statistical treatments were applied using the SPSS version 2020 software. The most important results of this study are that the college sets its goals based on its vision and mission in line with the needs of society through effective strategies announced in a public place to be a reference for evaluating progress in the college. It was also concluded that the college’s human resources (trainers and administrators) are sufficient to perform the tasks assigned to them through the work of committees and work teams and writing periodic reports on achievements, work performance, and development. The College Council also makes its decisions according to clear and specific tasks with the formation of distinguished work teams. One of the most important recommendations of the research is the college council’s approval of formulating the college’s vision and mission, the need to emphasize the presence of a quality and accreditation office in every college and unit for every department in the organizational structure of physical education colleges in Libyan public universities, and the necessity of developing a guideline for quality standards for accreditation in physical education colleges in Libyan public universities.

Capstone engineering design courses have been a feature at research universities and four-year schools for many years. Although such classes are less common at two-year colleges, the experience is equally beneficial for this population of students. With this in mind, Madison College introduced a project-based Engineering Design course in 2007. This paper explores Madison College’s experience over the past decade offering this class. Unique challenges and opportunities for engineering design courses at two-year colleges are discussed. Our findings include several recommended practices to benefit colleges and universities at any level that are creating new engineering design courses.

Abstract:
Dr. Jill Biden, Vice President Joe Bidens wife, has been teaching in community colleges for the past 18 years. Dr. Biden believes that community colleges are uniquely American institutions where anyone who walks through the door is one step closer to realizing the American dream. This is an inspiring sentiment. However, of all the first time college students who enrolled in community college in 2003-2004, fewer than 36% earned a post-secondary credential within six years. In light of the low completion rate, one has to question whether community colleges are fulfilling their promise. In this article we will look at the recent demographics of community colleges, compare the role of community colleges to that of proprietary colleges in post secondary education and discuss promising research initiatives aimed at improving the community college system.

Abstract:
Students with disabilities face many challenges in their pursuit of higher education. Academic accommodations and other educational supports can allow these students to learn, and to demonstrate their learning, in a manner similar to their classmates without disabilities. The purpose of this study was (1) to determine the percent of students classified with disabilities and receiving accommodations in college and (2) to see if students’ access to accommodations varies as a function of their college’s type, selectivity, and cost. Overall 4.6% of undergraduate students are formally registered with their school’s disability office. Contrary to expectations, the highest percentage of students with disabilities receiving accommodations are found in America’s most selective and expensive private colleges and universities. The prevalence of students with disabilities at private, liberal arts colleges in particular is almost three times higher than the prevalence at two-year public (i.e., community) colleges. These findings suggest that public colleges should be more proactive in identifying and accommodating students with disabilities and private colleges should be more judicious in their accommodation granting. Colleges should also use principles of universal design to promote the academic success of all students, regardless of their disability status.

Abstract:
The present paper compares library automation in first-grade college libraries affiliated to the University of Mysore. A structured questionnaire was used to collect primary inputs from college libraries to understand the present status. A total of 160 colleges were taken up for the study in which 135 (84.37%) colleges responded,15 first grade college libraries did not have librarians and ten librarians did not respond. The study’s findings reveal that 94 (69.62%) college libraries are automated. Among them, 29 (30.85%) college libraries are fully automated, 65 (69.14%) college libraries are partially automated and 41 (30.37%) libraries are not automated. The study’s findings reveal that all autonomous colleges are automated—the main reason for not automating the library in Government colleges, Private aided colleges and Unaided colleges are inadequate of finance and lack of trained manpower. It is suggested that the librarians have to attend intensive training programs on deputation or become proficient in automation work to provide effective and efficient services to users.

Objectives The purposes of this study were to improve writing education in colleges through analysiss of the case operation liberal arts writing cducation in T-College. Methods For this purpose, I conducted a literature review on the general characteristics of liberal arts education in colleges and analyzed cases of writing education at T-College from 2016 to 2023. In particular, cases of curricu-lum reform in communication-related subjects were analyzed and presented, and the main characteristics that appeared in three periods of reform were analyzed. And I organized and analyzed how the writing contents has been changed. In addition to, the researcher's experience was additionally described T-college’s educational con-ditions and support systems in liberal arts curriculum. Results As a result of analysis of writing educaion, the college has been providing communicational writing educa-tion as like a vocational skills. In addition to, addressing the problems lack of general support system, as like in-dependent liberal education support organization and overal consensus on the importance of liberal arts writing education were presented. It was suggested that minimal efforts are being made to meet national financial sup-port project evaluation standards. Conclusions It was emphasized that writing education in colleges should be improved so that it develops the crit-ical thinking and problem-solving skills of learners who will live in the future. To this end, it is necessary to establish a writing education support system at colleges and consider writing education methods tailored to individual learners, such as an online writing feedback system. Through this, it was proposed to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of writing education in colleges.

Abstract:
Industrial colleges are the connection point between higher vocational colleges and enterprises to carry out in-depth collaborative education. At present, there are three forms of industrial colleges: surface cooperative industrial college focusing on order cooperation, middle-level industrial college relying on industry development, and deep cooperative industrial college with integrated development. There are several common problems among the three forms of industrial colleges, such as vague positioning, unclear division of responsibilities and rights between both parties, and “free riding” at all levels. In order to establish symbiotic industrial colleges, there is a need to change the concept first, then establish and improve the system, and finally, establish a cross-border teacher pool.

Abstract:
States and broad-access colleges are rapidly scaling corequisite coursework—a model where students concurrently enroll in college-level and developmental coursework—in response to dismal completion rates in traditional “developmental” sequences. At community colleges, evidence suggests that corequisite reforms can dramatically improve students’ completion of required college-level courses, but colleges often implement new programing and sequences with limited information. We analyzed administrative data from Texas community colleges implementing a statewide corequisite mandate. Our results illustrate (a) how colleges structured corequisite courses in response to the statewide mandate and (b) how corequisite coursework characteristics predicted student outcomes. Our results suggest that some corequisite coursework elements—including mixed-ability college-level classes, higher credits for the developmental education (dev-ed) corequisite support course, and using the same instructor across both the college-level and dev-ed course—improve students’ probability of passing college-level math, though these course design elements do not appear to predict long-term outcomes like persistence in college.

Abstract:
Over the past three decades, colleges have experienced revolutionary changes, and the enrollment revolution has had a particularly profound impact on 2-year colleges. We describe the new kinds of students who are entering college today and the ways that colleges have begun to adapt. Then, analyzing interviews with students and administrators and a survey of nearly 4,400 students in 14 two-year colleges, we examine four questions: (1) Do students have serious information problems, and are college procedures ever responsible? (2) How can college structures improve students’ information and planning? (3) Do colleges with alternative structures affect student information and confidence? (4) Do alternative college structures matter, net of student attributes ? The results suggest new approaches to addressing the information needs of college students, which may have important implications for their confidence and success. The evidence in this study suggests that structured programs, structured advising, and structured peer supports should be added to the menu of college policy alternatives that deserve further consideration.

Abstract:
Postsecondary education mostly focuses on the four-year BA degree. Community colleges are often promoted as the first step toward the ultimate goal of a four-year degree. However, community colleges have extremely poor degree completion rates. There is evidence suggesting better results for their private, two-year counterparts—particularly for certificate completion. We will focus on occupational colleges—private accredited colleges that offer career preparation in occupational fields like health care, business, information technology, and others. These institutions challenge many of our preconceptions about college. They are less wedded to college traditions, which raises some interesting questions: Do private colleges offering certificates or AA degrees use different procedures? Should community colleges consider some of these procedures to reduce student difficulties and improve their completion rates? For many community college students, earning a more likely, quick sub-BA credential—perhaps followed by a four-year degree in the future—will be preferable to the relatively unlikely pathway from a community college program directly to a four-year BA. In sum, this paper suggests that nontraditional colleges and nontraditional credentials (certificates and AA degrees) deserve much closer attention from researchers, policymakers, and students.

As the concept of lifelong education continues to infiltrate the education system, the examination of degree programs for junior college graduates has become a promotion path for graduates of higher vocational colleges to continue their education. It optimizes the development space for graduates of higher vocational colleges. While the enrollment of junior college graduates for degree programs is expanding, the education system of degree programs for junior college graduates and higher vocational colleges in China has also ushered in a new round of challenges and development opportunities. At present, the education system for degree programs for junior college graduates is not sound enough, and the interface with higher vocational colleges is not close enough. Moreover, there are problems such as poor communication of students moving from higher vocational colleges to universities for undergraduate education and fluctuating quality of personnel training and education. Therefore, it is of significance to study the problems of major offerings in higher vocational colleges. In our study, we took higher vocational colleges in Xiamen as an example. And we systematically study and then analyze the universities offering degree programs for junior college graduates and their majors. Finally, the problems in the connection between the majors of higher vocational colleges and those of universities with degree programs for junior college graduates are discussed, and suggestions are given for the study. Moreover, the universities should respond to the real-time development policy of the country and cultivate interdisciplinary personnel with solid theoretical foundation, innovation skills, research capabilities, professional expertise, and practical skills for social development.

Scientific and technological innovation ability of students is an important part of scientific and technological innovation in higher vocational colleges. There are few scientific and technological innovation achievements and low scientific and technological content of technical application achievements in higher vocational colleges at present, which are mainly caused by the single innovation organization form and weak innovation knowledge sharing ability. It is of great significance and value to explore the knowledge flow of scientific and technological innovation in colleges and universities and the collaborative innovation of college students. There is little research on the relationship between knowledge flow of scientific and technological innovation and collaborative innovation of college students in the existing literature, so this article has carried out relevant research. This article constructs the mathematical model of knowledge flow of scientific and technological innovation in colleges and universities, analyzes the stability of the mathematical model of knowledge flow of scientific and technological innovation in colleges and universities, and gives the framework of collaborative innovation ecosystem for college students. This article accurately measures the embedding of scientific and technological innovation resources in colleges and universities, the knowledge flow of scientific and technological innovation and the collaborative innovation performance of college students, and empirically tests the direct influence effect of embedding scientific and technological innovation resource network in colleges and universities on the collaborative innovation performance of college students and the moderating effect of the knowledge flow of scientific and technological innovation in colleges and universities. Abstract:
The College of Educational and Developmental Psychologists (CEDP) in Australia, like other colleges, has exceptionally skilled and well-qualified practitioners. But, are the differences between the colleges significant? Is some of the psychology practised by one College so different to that of another? It is not clear that there are any general differences. It is at the level of the individual practitioner who, irrespective of her college membership, will either be particularly skilled or not. It seems pertinent to ask what particular skills does our College have over others. What is it that makes the CEDP practitioners different from the focus of other colleges? Practitioners in educational and developmental psychology have been trained across a wide range of psychological domains and practise in diverse areas, such as gerontopsychology and child development. However, in some ways it is about marketing the skill base and aligning with recognised areas of psychology. In Australia there is a bizarre disparity across states and territories vis-à-vis who is qualified to work as school psychologists but who are not members of the CEDP, either through choice or their qualifications not quite aligning. Focusing on bringing this group more into the fray will, in the opinion of the Editor, provide a clearer focus as to one of the areas of practice that falls clearly into that domain. This is an opportunity to strengthen our focus while strengthening the College's ability to accentuate the wide areas of practice that College endorsement offers.

Abstract:
In recent years, the concept of global business incubators has developed greatly. Entrepreneurship incubators have gradually developed into an important part of the market ecosystem in developed countries and emerging economies, and the innovation ability of higher vocational colleges has been continuously proven. In order to fully tap the potential of higher vocational college business incubators in higher vocational colleges, and improve the operation efficiency of higher vocational college business incubators. Then, to find out the current advantages of higher vocational college business incubators and explore a new operation path suitable for the development of higher vocational college business incubators, we selected 2016-2018 regional business incubators in higher vocational colleges as research samples and used the DEA model to calculate the operation efficiency of business incubators in higher vocational colleges. It is found that business incubators in higher vocational colleges play an important role in cultivating comprehensive and high-quality enterprises. The development of entrepreneurship incubators in higher vocational colleges in different regions is uneven. Compared with the overall operation efficiency of the eastern and central and western regions, the operation efficiency of entrepreneurial incubators in the northeastern region is low. By comparing the operating efficiency of professional incubators and comprehensive incubators in higher vocational colleges in the northeastern region, it is found that the operating efficiency of professional incubators is significantly higher than that of comprehensive incubators. It provides a reference for the transformation of the operation mode of entrepreneurship incubators in higher vocational colleges.

Abstract: Choosing the right college is a pivotal step for aspiring engineers, as it greatly influences their career trajectory in the field of engineering. Many students face confusion when completing admission forms, often due to insufficient information and a lack of understanding about how to prioritize their preferred colleges on their selection lists. As competition for admission into education increases, it becomes even more important for applicants to find correct college which is suitable for him that fit their requirements and expectation. Selecting appropriate college to apply, however, is a time-consuming process, especially when looking for colleges at graduate level due to the various factors in decision making imposed by the colleges and applicants. In this project, we propose a recommendation system that suggests appropriate colleges to the students based on K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm. As graduate programs make decisions based on applicants’ qualification, our recommender considers user’s personal data and cutoff data of various graduate colleges registered by college admin.

AbstractIn this commentary on the research note by Wang Xiaobing, Chengfang Liu, Linxiu Zhang, Yaojiang Shi and Scott Rozelle, “College is a rich, Han, urban, male club: research notes from a census survey of four tier one colleges in China,” I address several caveats in using the relative disparity index in assessing the extent of inequality in access to higher education. Based on these discussions, I point out the potential limitations existing in the empirical study of Wang and colleagues, and reassess the extent of disparity in college education opportunities in contemporary China using data from the 2010 Chinese General Social Survey. Although the descriptive patterns consolidate the study of Wang and colleagues, only household registration status is significantly associated with the likelihood of attending college. These findings indicate that disparities per gender, economic status, and ethnicity based on a limited number of colleges are likely to be subject to sampling errors. Finally, no interaction effects between socio-demographic factors are detected. I offer some reflections on the disproportionality approach in the research of education inequality.

Abstract:
Abstract We construct publicly available statistics on parents’ incomes and students’ earnings outcomes for each college in the United States using deidentified data from tax records. These statistics reveal that the degree of parental income segregation across colleges is very high, similar to that across neighborhoods. Differences in postcollege earnings between children from low- and high-income families are much smaller among students who attend the same college than across colleges. Colleges with the best earnings outcomes predominantly enroll students from high-income families, although a few mid-tier public colleges have both low parent income levels and high student earnings. Linking these income data to SAT and ACT scores, we simulate how changes in the allocation of students to colleges affect segregation and intergenerational mobility. Equalizing application, admission, and matriculation rates across parental income groups conditional on test scores would reduce segregation substantially, primarily by increasing the representation of middle-class students at more selective colleges. However, it would have little effect on the fraction of low-income students at elite private colleges because there are relatively few students from low-income families with sufficiently high SAT/ACT scores. Differences in parental income distributions across colleges could be eliminated by giving low- and middle-income students a sliding-scale preference in the application and admissions process similar to that implicitly given to legacy students at elite private colleges. Assuming that 80% of observational differences in students’ earnings conditional on test scores, race, and parental income are due to colleges’ causal effects—a strong assumption, but one consistent with prior work—such changes could reduce intergenerational income persistence among college students by about 25%. We conclude that changing how students are allocated to colleges could substantially reduce segregation and increase intergenerational mobility, even without changing colleges’ educational programs.

Abstract:
College students’ voluntary activity is the most common project in colleges and universities of China to cultivate college students’ cultural competence and play the role of social support. At present, a relatively mature college voluntary service mechanism has been formed in colleges and universities. Public welfare spirit, as the core connotation of voluntary service, is a good way to cultivate college students to improve their ideological and moral attainment. College students’ voluntary activities play such a role as undertaking the cultivation of public welfare spirit, enriching the path of practical education in colleges and universities, and implementing the cultivation of public welfare spirit. Therefore, it is of great benefit to carry out the research on the cultivation path of college students’ public welfare spirit which is characterized by majors in colleges, implemented by professional training and voluntary service, and guaranteed by the incentive mechanism of voluntary service.

The most frequently cited disadvantages involved the perception that psychologist colleagues (e.g., licensing boards) did not find education hou0sing credible, lack of fit with the K-12 mission, and limited funding. CP respondents preferred to be housed in education and would choose it if given the chance. Thus, although some advantages and disadvantages of housing in education were reported, no widespread dissatisfaction was found.

Abstract:
In Chinese colleges, counselors need to simultaneously engage in teaching and management. The dual responsibilities make them probe to job burnout. To solve the problem, this paper puts forward assumptions about the behavior, income, and cost of counselors, and sets up a game model of burnout governance for college counselors. On this basis, the game between the college and counselors was analyzed under multiple scenarios: the two parties make completely independent decisions; the college is the first mover in the decision-making—— namely the equilibrium of the mixed strategy. Suppose a few colleges decide to improve the counselor management system. Based on the evolutionary game model, the authors discussed the influence of the improvement on all the colleges. The results show that the rational choices of the two parties should be “the college reforms the counselor management system”, while “the counselors work actively and avoid job burnout”; if a few colleges decide to improve the counselor management system, all the other colleges will follow suit, which leads to an improvement of efficient incentive system for college counselors. The research results provide a good reference for the burnout governance of college counselors.

Abstract:
Over the last three decades, most community colleges have broadened their economic development role to include contracting with employers to train current or prospective employees in job and academic skills. This article describes the main contours of the community college's involvement in contract training, explains how this involvement arose, and analyzes its impact on the community college. This analysis is based both on national data on the general prevalence and form of contract training and on case studies of the forms it takes in twenty community colleges in five states servicing five quite different industries. Contract training is sometimes quite elaborate, as in the case of the entry-level training of skilled workers in auto manufacturing, auto repair, and construction. Here the training often involves multiyear apprenticeships, combining both classroom and on-the-job training, with labor unions exercising a major role. But contract training often is much briefer and dominated by the wishes of companies. The origins of contract training lie in a combination both of business pressure and of initiative by community colleges and government bodies pursuing interests and values of their own. Contract training has broadly affected community colleges in such areas as enrollments, revenues, external relations, governance, internal relations, curriculum and pedagogy, and institutional mission. It has brought more students, revenues, and political clout, but also greater business involvement in community college governance and possibly a major redefinition of institutional mission away from education (especially transfer education) toward training.

Good psychological quality is the basic requirement for college students in the new era. Students from junior colleges moving into undergraduate level in private colleges are a special group as they are already an important part of students in private colleges. Based on the mental health status of these students, private colleges have analyzed the issues of mental health education which include weak teaching staffs, lack attention, and traditional education methods. From the perspective of three-dimensional education, the psychological education work model in private colleges is explored to build an education team to promote the participation of all employees in the work of psychological education, strengthen the attention of college students who are moving into the undergraduate level, and to pay full attention to these students. Private colleges should try to innovate education methods and improve psychological education in all aspects.

In the sphere of symbols, referring to civic ideals/civic ethos was one of the bases of corporate identity. Both the system of values and the tools used to create the college’s image, founded on this system, were identical for colleges and the community of citizens. The reform of the personnel system will continuously optimize the proportion and structural allocation of teachers’ resources in colleges and universities, improve the quality and efficiency of running schools, enhance the competitiveness and attractiveness of schools, and better achieve the school’s school-running goals. In order to obtain higher signal reconstruction accuracy and satisfy random matrix with a relatively small compression ratio, this paper combines QR decomposition, which is used to increase the column independence of random matrix, and gradient descent method, which can reduce the cross-correlation between random matrix and sparse matrix. Based on the actual situation of a certain university, this paper studies and designs a set of perfect and reasonable teacher performance appraisal system that meets the requirements of the college, analyzes and researches the current situation of teacher performance appraisal in the college, and finds out the problem. Combining the advanced concept of being good at performance appraisal with the actual situation of the college, it analyzes the problems in the teacher performance appraisal system, summarizes the reasons for the formation of the problem, further redesigns the teacher performance appraisal index system, and gives the relevant implementation of the system. The basic characteristics presented in the organization of colleges and universities will not change. It is well known that the college enrollment rates of blacks have historically trailed those of whites, although in recent decades the actual size of the racial gap has fluctuated. Prior research has shown that blacks are more likely than whites to attend college after high school graduation, net of socioeconomic background and academic performance. It has been suggested that this “net black advantage “ may be spurious—due to blacks’ relatively high enrollment rates in historically black colleges and universities. With data from the National Education Longitudinal Study of 1988–1994, this hypothesis is tested by examining black-white differences in enrollment in different types of colleges: any college, four-year colleges, non-black four-year colleges, and academically selective four-year colleges. Overall, results confirm the existence of a net black advantage at low levels of family socioeconomic background. The implications of these findings for racial equality in access to higher education are explored.

College graduates, as a labor force with high human capital accumulation, have the problem of initial wage inequality, which is worth paying attention to. Based on the collated micro-survey data form “Employment and Entrepreneurship Development Report of Chinese College Graduates”, which contains 339 samples from vocational colleges, 453 from common colleges, and 360 from key colleges, this study empirically analyzed the inequality of college graduates’ initial wages at the college level. We found that the initial wage income level of college graduates is significantly influenced by the college level. The higher the level is, the higher the initial wage. The initial wage of graduates from key colleges is the highest, and the income inequality between them and vocational college graduates is the most significant. Moreover, there are structural differences in the wage premium effect of the college level on college graduates with a change in wage level. In addition, the study found that there is an obvious gender wage difference among college graduates, and political status, academic ranking, and student cadre experience as well as the nature of the workplace all contributed to the formation of wage premiums to a certain extent.

We construct a time series of college attendance patterns for the United States and document a reversal: family background was a better predictor of college attendance before World War II, but academic ability was afterward. We construct a model of college choice that explains this reversal. The model’s central mechanism is that an exogenous surge of college attendance leads better colleges to be oversubscribed, institute selective admissions, and raise their quality relative to their peers, as in Hoxby (2009). Rising quality at better colleges attracts high-ability students, while falling quality at the remaining colleges dissuades low-ability students, generating the reversal. (JEL I23, J12, N32)

Abstract:
This article attempts to comprehend the current issues and hurdles that Indian colleges affiliated with Tamil Nadu State Universities encounter when trying to subscribe to a software that detects plagiarism. The study’s goals are to determine whether colleges employ anti-plagiarism software, whether they ensure that their student-given assignments are free of copyright infringement, whether tutors teach about academic misconduct, and what people seem to think of anti-plagiarism software. We surveyed for this study and distributed the questionnaires among college administrators, principals, and librarians. The study respondents are 15.9 per cent principals, 64.2 per cent library professionals, and 19.9 per cent college administrators. The survey study report shows that 70.9 per cent of the majority of the colleges did not subscribe. 41.7 per cent gave the reason it is too expensive, and 30.5 per cent of respondents thought that for their college, it is unnecessary to subscribe. However, nobody has confirmed whether or not all colleges possess access to plagiarism detection software. Thus, according to this investigation, further Indian states must be involved in this research to understand the specific context fully. This report advises the UGC to enforce the requirement that colleges have plagiarism detection software; they either provide colleges additional money to subscribe to such software, or the university must grant free access to the affiliated colleges.

OLA College of Education has 58 tutors, Komenda College of Education has 42 tutors and Fosu College of Education has 52 tutors. The total population of all the three colleges summed up to 152 tutors. The sample for the study was made up of all the 152 tutors in the three colleges of education. The sampling technique used was census. The main data collection instrument was questionnaire and interview. The results of the study indicate that tutors of colleges of education in the central region had high career expectations. The study also revealed that human resource policies, reward systems, incentives available to tutors and the roles played by tutor associations do exist in colleges of education in the central region of Ghana. The human resource policies ensured staff welfare, job security, promote opportunities for training and ensure good working conditions. This policy has however not generally been able to provide tutors with the required motivation they need to effectively carry out their duties. It was recommended that tutor associations should work more assiduously to ensure that the welfare of the members are respected and taken into due consideration by the college administration to ensure that tutors are motivated well enough to carry out their responsibilities.Motivation
