Abstract:
Genetic networks play a fundamental role in the regulation and control of the development and function of organisms. A simple model of gene networks assumes that a gene can be switched on or off as regulatory inputs to the gene cross critical thresholds. In studies of dynamics of such networks, we found unusual dynamical behavior in which phase plane trajectories display irregular dynamics that shrink over long times. This observation leads us to identify a type of dynamics, that can be described as collapsing chaos, in which the Lyapunov exponent is positive, but points on the trajectory approach the origin in the long time limit.

Abstract:
AbstractWe show that arithmetical transfinite recursion is equivalent to a suitable formalization of the following: For every ordinal α there exists an ordinal β such that $1 + \beta \cdot \left( {\beta + \alpha } \right)$ (ordinal arithmetic) admits an almost order preserving collapse into β. Arithmetical comprehension is equivalent to a statement of the same form, with $\beta \cdot \alpha$ at the place of $\beta \cdot \left( {\beta + \alpha } \right)$. We will also characterize the principles that any set is contained in a countable coded ω-model of arithmetical transfinite recursion and arithmetical comprehension, respectively.

Abstract:
AbstractThe game is played on a complete Boolean algebra , by two players. White and Black, in κ-many moves (where κ is an infinite cardinal). At the beginning White chooses a non-zero element p ∈ . In the α-th move White chooses pα ∈ (0, p) and Black responds choosing iα ∈{0, 1}. White winsthe play iff . where and .The corresponding game theoretic properties of c.B.a.'s are investigated. So, Black has a winning strategy (w.s.) if κ ≥ π() or if contains a κ-closed dense subset. On the other hand, if White has a w.s., then κ ∈ . The existence of w.s. is characterized in a combinatorial way and in terms of forcing. In particular, if 2<κ = κ ∈ Reg and forcing by preserves the regularity of κ, then White has a w.s. iff the power 2κ is collapsed to κ in some extension. It is shown that, under the GCH, for each set S ⊆ Reg there is a c.B.a. such that White (respectively. Black) has a w.s. for each infinite cardinal κ ∈ S (resp. κ ∉ S). Also it is shown consistent that for each κ ∈ Reg there is a c.B.a. on which the game is undetermined.

Abstract:
We investigate higher-dimensional spherically symmetric anisotropic collapsing solutions of the field equations. Our aim is to check the effects of higher dimensions on the density and pressures profile of the collapsing fluid. It has been observed that the energy density, radial and tangential pressures of the collapsing system are strongly affected by higher dimensions. It also comes out that the anisotropy of the collapsing system becomes constant in higher dimensions.
