Abstract:
Pengelasan merupakan proses penyambungan dua benda logam dengan cara memanaskan dua benda logam dengan cara mencairkan elektroda dalam keadaan lumer dan cair. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui sifat mekanis dari sambungan las dengan menggunakan media pendingin air, collant, dan oli. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode experimental. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan penggunaan media pendingin yang berbeda dan suhunya dijaga konstan. Setiap spesimen material yang digunakan baja pelat aisi 1020 elektroda E6013 dengan diamter 2,6 mm posisi pengelasan bawah tangan (dwon hand). Temperatur yang digunakan media pendingin air 15°C, oli 15°C dan collant 15°C dan kuat arus yang digunakan sebesar 90 A. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa untuk nilai tegangan rata-rata media air 348,1 MPa, media pendingin collant 343,2 MPa dan media pendingin oli sebesar 339,7 MPa. Sedangkan untuk media pendingin air nilai regangan yang didapat yaitu 20,56% dan media collant 19,11%, media pendingin oli sebesar 20,14%.

Abstract:
L’article décrit la suite d’une expérience dans laquelle avait été établie la prédiction des consommations et excrétions d’eau chez les dindonneaux de chair. Les résultats présentés ici sont relatifs à la prédiction de l’état physique des excretas. Les excretas de dindonneaux nourris avec 27 régimes granulés différents sont caractérisés pour leur pouvoir collant à l’aide d’un rhéomètre destiné aux matériaux pâteux. Des notes visuelles de déstructuration sont également attribuées aux excretas. Le pouvoir collant et la note de déstructuration des excretas sont positivement corrélés entre eux (R2 = 0,26 ; n = 216) et sont chacun positivement corrélés à la teneur en eau des excretas (R2 = 0,23 et R2 = 0,55, respectivement ; n = 216). Ces mesures (valeurs moyennes par régime) sont reliées aux caractéristiques des régimes par régressions linéaires multiples. Les meilleures équations comportent les deux variables "viscosité utile réelle" (VUR) et "eau retenue par les parois végétales" (Eau-PAR). Les variables VUR et Eau-PAR sont respectivement affectées de coefficients positifs et négatifs. Les R2 des régressions sont de 0,485 et 0,819 pour le pouvoir collant et la note de déstructuration des excretas, respectivement. La rétention d’eau des parois végétales des régimes dépend de la rétention d’eau des parois des matières premières utilisées, qui varie dans un rapport de 1 à 4, et de la température en sortie de presse. Les plus fortes températures entraînent une réduction du pouvoir de rétention d’eau des parois végétales.

Cooling tower adalah alat penukar kalor dengan fluida kerja air dan udara yang berfungsi mendinginkan air dengan kontak langsung dengan udara yang mengakibatkan sebagian kecil air menguap. Dalam kebanyakan cooling tower yang bekerja pada sistem pendinginan udara menggunakan pompa sentrifugal untuk menggerakkan air vertikal ke atas melintasi menara. Semua cooling tower yang bekerja akan melepaskan kalor melalui kondensor, refrigeran akan melepas kalornya kepada cooling tower sehingga air menjadi panas. Selanjutnya air panas ini akan dipompakan ke cooling tower. Dalam Penelitian ini peneliti akan menambahkan coolant yang kita tahu berfungsi sebagai pendingin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan water collant terhadap efektifitas pendinginan cooling tower. Penelitian terdahulu yang sudah pernah dilakukan adalah meneliti kinerja cooling tower dan efektifitas pendinginan cooling tower tersebut. Hasil penelitian diperoleh suhu awal air yang masuk ke cooling tower adalah 50 ᵒC dan suhu air setelah diproses di colling tower tersebut adalah 40 ᵒC untuk water coolant merk A, sedangkan untuk water coolant merk B adalah 38 ᵒC . Dengan hasil ini dapat diketahui bahwa dengan penambahan coolant terhadap kinerja colling tower mempengaruhi efektivitas pendinginan cooling tower tersebut.

Penggunaan CNC Milling 3 axis pada industri manufaktur sudah sangat umum digunakan untuk memperoleh hasil yang optimal. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mendapatkan rekomendasi parameter permesinan optimal pada pengerjaan proses surface finishing material stavax ESR sebagai raw material pembuatan mold dimesin cnc milling 3 axis menggunakan cutter ballnose endmil carbide. Parameter permesinan sangat erat kaitannya dengan surfaces roughness quality dari material yang dikerjakan dan setting parameter pada mesin CNC. Penelitian ditujukan untuk membantu industri manufaktur yang mempunyai CAD/CAM dan mesin CNC 3axis dengan kecepatan spindle maksimum 12.000 rpm. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan mesin CNC Hartford Lg-1000. Hasil riset di awal mengidentifikasi bahwa faktor yang diduga mempengaruhi surfaces roughness adalah kecepatan spindle, feeding, Depth of Cut (DOC), step over cutter, ketajaman alat potong, dan toolpath strategy. Dari keenam parameter tersebut setelah melalui proses brainstorming didapatkan tiga faktor yang signifikan mempengaruhi nilai surfaces roughness, yaitu, kecepatan spindle, feeding, dan Depth of Cut (DOC). Metode pengerjaan pada pengujian ini meggunakan metode surface finishing dengan media pendingin collant, kemudian dilakukan proses pengerjaan dengan memvariasikan kecepatan putar spindel, kecepatan potongdan tebal pemakanan. Dari hasil penelitian ini maka kehalusan permukaan benda yang telah di uji untuk semua bahan termasuk kedalam kategori nilai kekasaran yaitu N4 – N5 menurut standar kekasaran, dengan nilai kekasaran yang paling rendah didapat pada penelitian ini adalah 0, 201µm dan yang tertinggi 0,347µm.

Abstract:
Le beurre de karité et le beurre de cacao présentent de grandes similitudes d’utilisation en cosmétique et en agroalimentaire. Nous avons voulu, dans la présente étude, rechercher les voies et moyens de l’utilisation du beurre de karité dans le secteur pharmaceutique pour la fabrication des suppositoires et des ovules. Des échantillons de beurre de karité produits dans la région nord du Cameroun ont été achetés sur le marché de Bafoussam (région ouest). Après l’analyse physique et chimique des échantillons, nous avons procédé à la recherche d’un améliorant qui, incorporé au beurre de karité, pourrait permettre d’obtenir un excipient compatible avec la fabrication des suppositoires et des ovules. Nous avons ainsi essayé successivement comme améliorant la cire blanche et la silice colloïdale aux taux respectifs de 1, 2, 4 et 6 %. Pour vérifier la pertinence de notre choix, nous avons fabriqué et soumis au contrôle deux médicaments témoins en utilisant d’une part le beurre de karité brut local et d’autre part le beurre de karité raffiné importé de France (laboratoire Aroma). À température ambiante, le beurre de karité brut était collant et huileux au toucher, avec une consistance pâteuse. Son point de fusion était de 34 °C. L’indice d’acide était de 1,56, l’indice d’ester de 170,98, l’indice de saponification de 181,84, l’indice de peroxyde de 2,90 et la densité de 0,90. Pour ce qui est de la recherche de l’améliorant, le meilleur résultat a été obtenu avec la silice colloïdale anhydre (AEROSIL® 200) à 4 %. Le nouvel excipient obtenu avait une consistance convenable et un point de fusion favorable (36 °C) à l’utilisation comme excipient pour suppositoires. Tous les médicaments témoins (suppositoires enfants de paracétamol dosés à 300 mg et ovules de métronidazole dosés à 500 mg) fabriqués aussi bien avec le beurre de karité brut local que le beurre de karité raffiné importé ont répondu favorablement aux tests pharmacotechniques prévus par la pharmacopée européenne. Ce résultat des tests pharmacotechniques nous permet de conclure que le beurre de karité renforcé par 4 % de silice colloïdale anhydre peut être valablement utilisé comme excipient pour suppositoires et ovules.

Abstract:
Abstract Body temperature and movement patterns of Angus Hereford crossbred (AH) vs. Raramuri Criollo (RC) nursing cows were monitored in summer 2016 and 2017. AH and RC cows grazed separately in two adjacent Chihuahuan Desert pastures (1190ha, 1165ha) in a crossover design for 4 weeks each year. Body temperature (BodyT) was monitored at 10 min intervals by placing blank CIDRs containing a temperature logger in 10 cows per breed. Seven to 9 AH and RC cows were also fitted with GPS collars that recorded position and ambient temperature (CollarT) at 10 min intervals. A landscape thermal map (LandT) was developed for habitat analysis. Data were analyzed within four daytime segments: dawn (sunrise to 9AM); pre-noon (9AM to noon); post-noon (noon to 3PM); and dusk (3PM to sunset). ANOVA was used to determine whether BodyT, animal movement, CollarT, and mean LandT position within each day segment were different for AH vs. RC cows. Breed nested within Year*Pasture was treated as the experimental unit. BodyT increased as a day progressed and was higher (P < 0.05) in AH vs. RC during post-noon (38.83 vs. 38.42oC) and dusk (39.22 vs. 38.70oC). Compared to AH counterparts, RC cows traveled farther (4.7 vs. 2.7 km*daytime h-1, P < 0.05), at higher velocities (5.9 vs. 3.5 m*min-1, P < 0.05) and spent more time grazing (5.6 vs. 4.3 daytime h; P < 0.05) and traveling (0.7 vs. 0.3 daytime h; P < 0.05) during all four daytime segments. Largest breed differences were observed during the hottest segments of the day (post-noon and dusk). Increasing CollarT throughout a day was associated with selection of cooler landscape locations (LandT) in both breeds. Apparent lower body heat load in RC cows may reduce constraints on their movement patterns compared to AH cows grazing Chihuahuan Desert rangeland in summer.

Collard (Brassica oleracea L., Acephala Group) is a uniquely American cole crop adapted to the southeastern United States, and several lines of evidence indicate its closest relative is heading cabbage (B. oleracea, Capitata Group). These two cole crops have been grown in close proximity in the Southeast from colonial times. Today, the number of commercially available collard cultivars is limited, and the most popular ones are susceptible to diseases like fusarium yellows, something that numerous cultivars of cabbage are highly resistant to. We postulated that hybrids between cabbage and collard would look more like collard because heading of cabbage is recessive to the nonheading nature of collard, and that such hybrids might be directly used as collard cultivars that express disease resistance from cabbage. Cytoplasmic male-sterile (cms) cabbage inbreds were crossed with different male-fertile collard inbreds using bees in cages to produce hybrid seed. Resulting cabbage-collard hybrids were compared to conventional collard and cabbage cultivars in three replicated field trials in South Carolina. In all trials, collard-cabbage hybrids exhibited similar size and stature as conventional collard, and throughout most of the growing season the hybrids remained nonheading. In addition, the collard-cabbage hybrids were much more uniform than open-pollinated collard cultivars. Among the cabbage-collard hybrids there was significant variation with some more collard-like than others. Results indicate that select collard-cabbage hybrids could out perform certain conventional collards and serve as potential new collard cultivars

The number of commercially available collard cultivars is limited, and the most popular cultivars are susceptible to fusarium yellows, a disease that most cabbage (B. oleracea Capitata group) cultivars are resistant to. We hypothesized that hybrids of cabbage and collard would look more like collard, because heading of cabbage is at least partially recessive to the nonheading growth habit of collard. We also postulated that cabbage–collard hybrids might be used directly as collard cultivars. To test these postulates, cytoplasmic male sterile cabbage inbreds were crossed to different male fertile collard inbreds and hybrid seed was produced. Resulting cabbage–collard hybrids were compared to conventional collard cultivars in three replicated field trials in South Carolina. In all trials, cabbage–collard hybrids exhibited size and weight more similar to conventional collard than cabbage, and throughout most of the growing season the collards remained nonheading. In addition, the cabbage–collard hybrids were much more uniform than open-pollinated collard cultivars. Among cabbage–collard hybrids there was significant variation with some hybrids appearing more collard-like than others. The collard inbreds designated A and B may have the greatest potential for making promising cabbage–collard hybrids. Particular hybrids (i.e., A3 or B2), derived from these inbreds and tested in this study, can perform better than certain conventional collards and may serve as possible new cultivars of this vegetable crop.

Abstract:
The collar is an important part of a garment that reflects its style. The collar classification task is to recognize the collar type in the apparel image. In this paper, we design a novel convolutional module called MFA (multi-scale features attention) to address the problems of high noise, small recognition target and unsatisfactory classification effect in collar feature recognition, which first extracts multi-scale features from the input feature map and then encodes them into an attention weight vector to enhance the representation of important parts, thus improving the ability of the convolutional block to combat noise and extract small target object features. It also reduces the computational overhead of the MFA module by using the depth-separable convolution method. Experiments on the collar dataset Collar6 and the apparel dataset DeepFashion6 (a subset of the DeepFashion database) show that MFANet is able to perform at a relatively small number of collars. MFANet can achieve better classification performance than most current mainstream convolutional neural networks for complex collar images with less computational overhead. Experiments on the standard dataset CIFAR-10 show that MFANet also outperforms current mainstream image classification algorithms.

Tra il 1932 e il 1936 la casa editrice Utet pubblicň "La Scala d'Oro", una collana graduata per l'infanzia che riscosse fin da subito un enorme successo. Ideatori e direttori della collana furono Vincenzo Errante e Fernando Palazzi, un germanista e un magistrato prestati al mondo dell'editoria. Collaboratori di numerose case editrici, concepirono il loro progetto durante la loro attivitÀ presso Mondadori, come tentativo di risposta ai mutamenti che stavano investendo il mercato del libro scolastico, a seguito dell'imposizione del Testo Unico per la scuola elementare. Tuttavia, le incomprensioni tra i direttori e Arnoldo finirono per favorire la casa editrice torinese. Numerosi corrispondenti scrissero a Palazzi in merito alla pubblicazione della collana. Da tali lettere emerge che punti di forza della serie furono la sapiente scelta dei testi, che mescolavano antico e moderno per fornire al giovane lettore un vasto panorama di conoscenze, e la ricchezza dell'apparato illustrativo, realizzato dai migliori artisti.
