Klein, Menachem. "Internazionalizzazione di Gerusalemme." FUTURIBILI, no. 3 (September 2012): 105–13. http://dx.doi.org/10.3280/fu2011-003006.

Full text
Abstract:

Bruzzese, Antonella, and Germana De Michelis. "Progettare la temporaneitŕ. Il workshop ‘Cittadella del riuso temporaneo'." TERRITORIO, no. 56 (March 2011): 59–64. http://dx.doi.org/10.3280/tr2011-056005.

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
This works gives the results of an epidemiological survey on the frequency of cryptorchidism carried out from 1988–1994 in the Hospital of Cittadella (Padua) on 3185 newborn. These babies were examined again by the same operator at 3-6-12 months. Standard criteria were used in defining cryptorchidism. Fifty-seven newborn (1.79%) were cryptorchid. The rate was much higher at birth for hypodystrophic and pre-term infants. The frequency descended to 1.17% and 1.15% respectively at 6 and 12 months, when the difference between the frequency of cryptorchidism in pre-term and underweight infants was no longer statistically significant compared to eutrophic and full-term babies. In conclusion, it may be confirmed that the incidence of this malformation is around 1% at one year old, as reported in literature. The spontaneous complete descent of the cryptorchid testis occurred before the 3rd-6th month and the descents recorded after that date are not significant.

Abstract:

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract A hospital rehabilitation service has been implemented in the Hospital of Cittadella, ULSS 6 Euganea - Health Trust (District of Padua) to offer hospitalized Covid and post-Covid patients a tailored rehabilitation pathway in the treatment of the different phases of the disease. The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has determined the admission of a large number of acute patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU), Semi-Intensive Care Units (S-ICU) and non-critic hospital wards. Patients recovering from COVID-19 experience a wide range of impairments requiring the implementation of multidisciplinary rehabilitation care protocols; these include the assessment for anticipated impairments (especially for patients admitted to ICU, older patients, and patients showing indications of impairment); patients who had severe-critical disease usually require a period of inpatient rehabilitation. Between October 2020 and April 2021 at Cittadella Hospital 450 patients (ICU, S-ICU, non-critic hospital wards) were enrolled in the Rehabilitation pathway and followed daily by a team made by physiatrists, physiotherapists and speech therapists. Referral options (hospitalization, community based rehab or discharge with follow up), based on the conditions of the patients, were assessed. The reduction of surgery and orthopedics patients to rehabilitate and the decrease of outpatient rehab services during Covid emergency made it possible to convert Rehabilitation ward (20 beds) to Covid Rehabilitation; according to epidemiological scenarios, patients admitted to Rehabilitation ward were initially SARS-CoV-2 positive with mild, moderate and severe symptoms, then post-Covid SARS-CoV-2 negative discharged from Covid wards. The definition of a tailored rehabilitation pathway in the treatment of the different phases of Covid disease has represented an important professional and organizational challenge for the Hospital. Rehabilitation plays a pivotal role in the management of Covid and post-Covid patients. Key messages Patients recovering from COVID-19 experience a wide range of impairments requiring the implementation of multidisciplinary rehabilitation care protocols. The definition of a tailored rehabilitation pathway in the treatment of the different phases of Covid disease has represented an important professional and organizational challenge for the Hospital.

Abstract:
Abstract Covid-19 emergency has forced hospitals to face enormous organizational challenges in order to implement solutions to minimize the impact of the infection and guarantee at the same time the quality of health services provided and the safety of patients and health workers. ULSS 6 Euganea - Health Trust (District of Padua) has defined four levels of risk for Hospital Units (from the highest to the lowest risk: Red, Yellow, Green and White) based on the following parameters: type of patients hospitalized (SARS-CoV-2 positive, Covid-like, negative), type of health services provided, time of assistance and care for hospitalized patient. This risk stratification in the Hospital of Cittadella - ULSS 6 Euganea has been applied to different contexts, such as distribution of personal protective equipment, health surveillance, frequency of cleaning and sanitation. Since February 21 (first confirmed case in Veneto Region), in the Hospital of Cittadella personal protective equipment has been delivered daily to health workers; the quantity and quality of devices provided have been carefully monitored, with particular regard to high-risk settings (Red Areas: Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Room, Covid Wards, Operating Room, Radiology, swab samples Area, Morgue). The performance of nasopharyngeal swabs has been periodically organized for every health worker, according to the level of risk of their Unit: every 10 days for Red Areas, every 20 days for Yellow and Green Areas, every 30 days for White Areas. The frequency of cleaning and sanitation has been intensified in Red and Yellow Areas, following the guidelines released by the World Health Organization. The definition of four levels of risk for Hospital Units is proving to be a useful and flexible tool in the management of Covid-19 emergency; further research in the next months needs to be made to assess the impact of risk stratification on the different aspects covered (ex. number of health workers infected). Key messages Covid-19 emergency has forced hospital to face enormous organizational challenges to minimize the impact of the infection and guarantee the safety of patients and health workers. The definition of four levels of risk for Hospital Units is proving to be a useful and flexible tool in the management of Covid-19 emergency.

Abstract:
Cardiac rehabilitation is the sum of psychological, physical and social treatments that are offered to cardiac patients to maintain or regain an active position in society. This study wants to evaluate changes in the perception of the illness and in the self-efficacy of the management of positive and negative emotions in patients who went through cardiac rehabilitation. Sixty-seven patients (20 females, 47 males) were selected within the cardiac rehabilitation unit in the Hospital of Cittadella (Italy). Illness Perception Questionnaire - revised version and the Scale for the self-efficacy of the management of positive and negative emotions were submitted at the beginning and at the end of the rehabilitation program. One-way analyses-of-variance were performed to evaluate different answers in questionnaires between pre- and post-evaluation, and to explore gender differences. A significant change was found in the perception of duration of illness, perceived as permanent and longer after the cardiac rehabilitation program. Furthermore, at the end of the cardiac rehabilitation program men perceived the illness more chronic than women, even if they are less worried and anxious. Intensive cardiac rehabilitation has a great emotional impact on cardiac patients, influencing their perception and management of the illness. Working on emotions, through psychological groups, helps patients change their beliefs by offering them a different perspective to approach the illness.

Abstract:
This paper examines the origins of the ancient urban settlement Kale Akte on the north coast of Sicily, based on the extensive excavations and research carried out at Caronia and Caronia Marina over the last two decades. It is suggested that the name Kale Akte – ‘Fair Promontory’ – was probably coined in Archaic times by Greek merchants and would have derived from the promontory with its harbour, an obvious landmark for the Greeks. The recently discovered Archaic harbour at Caronia Marina is regarded as a Sikel harbour, created as a maritime outlet for a Sikel settlement that must have existed on the hill-top of Caronia before the foundation by Ducetius. The archaeological finds suggest that the Sikel settlement was well acquainted with the Greek custom of the symposion. In the Archaic period, Kale Akte can be viewed as a ‘middle ground’ where traders of different ethnicities and cultural identity put differences aside in order to make a profit on trade. The topographical characteristics of the site are compared with the two other alleged foundations by Ducetius: Menai (Mineo) and Paliké. The hill-top of Caronia has close similarities with Mineo, but also with Cittadella, the precursor to Morgantina. Ducetius cannot have been the instigator behind the grand urban plan of Morgantina, since all his urban projects seem to have been on a relatively limited scale. The topographical situation of Kale Akte is also compared with that of the neighbouring cities Halaesa, Apollonia and Haluntium. However, the interests of these urban centres were dominated by territorial ambitions, while Kale Akte appears to have specialized in trade and maritime commerce from its inception. It is suggested that the harbour of Kale Akte in Roman times may well have served a much larger area than its own territory. The foundation of Kale Akte on the hill-top of Caronia is thought to have been undertaken by Ducetius with the consent of Syracuse, which was interested in founding a maritime trading post on this part of the coast, and was still under Sikel dominion. This would explain the open character of the settlement and the lack of any fortifications.

Abstract:
Research on heart disease have found a strong and consistent evidence of association between some psychosocial risk factors, including depression, anxiety, self-efficacy, lack of social support and outcome of disease. Depression increases the risk of cardiac death and is highly predictive of reduced adherence to recommended treatments; anxiety appears to be linked to adverse cardiac outcomes. It was demonstrated that Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) leads to substantial improvements and positive outcomes because combines the prescription of physical activity with the modification of risk factors and aims to reduce symptoms related to the disease and the risk of new cardiovascular events. The main objective of this study is to determine if a short and intense CR program can produce a positive impact on anxious and depressive symptoms revealed in cardiac patients, confirming results of previous researches. The protocol was proposed to all patients referred for an outpatient CR after an acute event who attended the short 2-week intensive rehabilitation program. A total of 157 patients recruited at the operating unit of Cardiology, in the Hospital of Cittadella (Italy), was included in the analysis. The Beck Depression Inventory-II and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory-Y were administered to the patients. SPSS 17.0 was used for statistical analysis. T-tests for paired samples were used to evaluate differences between the beginning and the end of the CR program. There was a statistically significant difference between the beginning and the end of the CR program. Results for paired samples showed significant differences in all factors of the BDI-II and in the total score. In addition, a statistically significant difference was found even in the state - anxiety subscale. No significant difference was detected for the trait anxiety. According to recent studies, this research shows that the CR program has a significant impact on levels of anxiety and depression, because all activities focus their commitment on changing the patient’s personal beliefs and perception of illness, promoting the exchange of information and sharing of concerns and fears, increasing the patient’s resilience with the aim of enabling him/her to reorganize positively his/her personal, family and professional sphere.
