Fei, Dongliang, Yaxi Guo, Qiong Fan, Haoqi Wang, Jiadi Wu, Ming Li, and Mingxiao Ma. "Phylogenetic and recombination analyses of two deformed wing virus strains from different honeybee species in China." PeerJ 7 (June 28, 2019): e7214. http://dx.doi.org/10.7717/peerj.7214.

Abstract:
Background Deformed wing virus (DWV) is one of many viruses that infect honeybees and has been extensively studied because of its close association with honeybee colony collapse that is induced by Varroa destructor. However, virus genotypes, sequence characteristics, and genetic variations of DWV remain unknown in China. Methods Two DWV strains were isolated from Jinzhou and Qinhuangdao cities in China, and were named China1-2017 (accession number: MF770715) and China2-2018 (accession number: MH165180), respectively, and their complete genome sequences were analyzed. To investigate the phylogenetic relationships of the DWV isolates, a phylogenetic tree of the complete open reading frame (ORF), structural protein VP1, and non-structural protein 3C+RdRp of the DWV sequences was constructed using the MEGA 5.0 software program. Then, the similarity and recombinant events of the DWV isolated strains were analyzed using recombination detection program (RDP4) software and genetic algorithm for recombination detection (GARD). Results The complete genomic analysis showed that the genomes of the China1-2017 and China2-2018 DWV strains consisted of 10,141 base pairs (bp) and 10,105 bp, respectively, and contained a single, large ORF (China1-2017: 1,146–9,827 bp; China2-2018: 1,351–9,816 bp) that encoded 2,894 amino acids. The sequences were compared with 20 previously reported DWV sequences from different countries and with sequences of two closely related viruses, Kakugo virus (KV) and V. destructor virus-1. Multiple sequence comparisons revealed a nucleotide identity of 84.3–96.7%, and identity of 94.7–98.6% in amino acids between the two isolate strains and 20 reference strains. The two novel isolates showed 96.7% nucleotide identity and 98.1% amino acid identity. The phylogenetic analyses showed that the two isolates belonged to DWV Type A and were closely related to the KV-2001 strain from Japan. Based on the RDP4 and GARD analyses, the recombination of the China2-2018 strain was located at the 4,266–7,507 nt region, with Korea I-2012 as an infer unknown parent and China-2017 as a minor parent, which spanned the entire helicase ORF. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to the complete sequence of DWV isolated from Apis cerana and the possible DWV recombination events in China. Our findings are important for further research of the phylogenetic relationship of DWVs in China with DWV strains from other countries and also contribute to the understanding of virological properties of these complex DWV recombinants.

Abstract:
In recent years, China has actively adjusted its foreign policy, integrated into the international order with a more open attitude, and strived to play Chinas role in the region and the world and shoulder Chinas responsibilities. However, the United States and some of Chinas neighbors view Chinas rise with suspicion and fear, and vigorously promote the China threat theory. Based on this background, this paper puts forward the research topic of whether the China threat theory represents Chinas international role from the perspective of the transformation of Chinas foreign policy. As a rising power, it is of great significance in the field of international relations to understand whether the purpose of Chinas rise poses a threat to other countries and the current international order. This paper uses the qualitative analysis method to analyze and study the South China Sea dispute and the Diaoyu Island issue as cases, and draws the conclusion that the China threat theory is not Chinas current international role.

China’s business environment is experiencing new changes currently. Based upon the principle of macroenvironmental analysis, the article scans the market by describing some major issues and events that have unfolded recently in economic, political, social, technological and ecological areas. Management challenges of these trends for firms engaging in China business are then discussed.
A China está a operar uma transição do modelo económico “Made in China” para o “Designed in China”.
ABSTRACT The economic performance of China in the past thirty years is remarkable and historically unprecedented. In the coming decades, China will play an increasingly influential role in the world. But how does pose a series of challenges to its continued economic and political rise, it is important and useful to understand the underlying strategy and the possible consequences for the world. China is operating a transition of the economic model "Made in China" to "Designed in China". Therefore, the objective of this work is to study a priority in the next phase of growth in China: technology development and innovation. China has a long history of success in innovation. However, various socio-‐cultural events crystallized its innovative edge. This paper proposes to examine the strategic action that China is undertaking to become a technological power and regain its innovation stage, which will lead to the awakening of a political, military and economic power. The ability to create innovation is a challenge for the development of the economies that depend on the low cost of labor and imitation. China's success in innovation will have substantial implications in the strategic environment of developed countries.

Abstract:
Today, the essential role of translation is present in all sectors of daily life, as in intercultural contacts and exchanges in all areas. The translation has finally become a topic of interest not only to students but also teachers and researchers, and to translate supposed communicate and facilitate communication. It is a key in the dissemination of knowledge and contributes to the respect for cultural and social diversity. However, note that the description and investigation of the teaching of translation (hereinafter DoL) was not a clear process throughout history, because the translation part of the teaching of foreign languages for centuries. This work is divided roughly into two sections: the descriptive and analytical. The descriptive section contains the first and the second chapter; the analytical section includes chapters three, four, five, six, seven. Next, described The first chapter, Education in China, serves as an introduction to the system of higher education in China -the universities there, faculty, students, careers, etc. which is essential information for understanding the following chapters. In the second chapter, Teaching Translation Spanish-Chinese in China, firstly described in university education from the following viewpoints: disciplinary construction, curriculum, compilation of teaching materials, teacher training, teaching, teaching methodology of written and oral translation (interpretation), evaluation and research translator translator. Then the teaching of Spanish in China is analyzed. We can say that although our aim of study is the DoL, but as in this country the Spanish-Chinese DoL always part of E / LE, there is another option that approximate the Spanish-Chinese DoL from the teaching of Spanish. In chapters three to seven, in order to meet the main goal that was raised earlier, that is, the Spanish to Chinese cultural approaches within the translation components that have fully analyzed -the cultural characteristics FH, the FPT, the GC, among others to reach conclusions that contribute to the Spanish-Chinese translation. As shown, at the end of each chapter a didactic translation unit that serves proposal for the classroom is added. Based on the results obtained, reflection and analysis is done from the perspective of cultural approaches the positives and negatives and analyzed in depth the academic, institutional and administrative reasons for these failures that hinder the improvement of the quality and performance of teaching Spanish translation into Chinese in Chinese universities. Finally, using the theories previously raised and the problems among Chinese students propose suggestions from cultural and translatological perspective in order to improve the Spanish to Chinese higher learning in China. The annexes are a number of data and information that we have been essential to this university study-centers offering GTI and DTI, curriculum and instructional goals of some centers as an example, distribution of students by fields, etc. as well as the corpus that have been analyzed for the analytical section.

Abstract:
Realize the situation about CO2 emission in Europe and China. Find out which reasons caused the CO2 emission will be changed. We did the data collection: CO2 emissions from China and EU. Energy consumption (include the total, electricity and transportation) and energy structure. Increased CO2 emission caused by Global warming. The CO2 emission increased with fossil-fuel use increased. China almost used of fossil energy, in 2004, domestic use for coal achieve to 67.7% of the total energy consumption. In 2010, the coal supply account for 48% of the world; the coal supply in 2000 to 2009 increased 85.5%. The CO2 emissions in 2009 is 6803.92 mil-tones, increased 13.32% than 2008, No. 1 of world. EU energy structure is keep changed, the rate of utilization for traditional fossil-fuel was gradually reduced. In 2010, the EU coal supply 8% of the world, 2000-2009 presents negative growth (3.8%). The CO2 emissions in 2009 were 4310.3 mil-tones, more than 2008 years to reduce 6.9%. CO2 emission based on energy consumption; Energy consumption is supply a variety of services to people. We must consider with population. China’s CO2/per capita less than average level in world, and lower than most EU countries.   China and EU are planning for future energy structure (reduce the use of fossil-fuel and increase renewable energy construction), that means up to energy saving and emission reduction purpose. The emission reduction of focus is to change the energy structure, reduce fossil-fuel use. China predicting the coal utilization rate under 60% of the total energy consumption. Thus, by 2020, forecast reducing 40-45% CO2 emission based on 1995. EU energy structure better than china, while they planning energy saving reach 20% at 2020, and improve the renewable energy use. By 2020, EU-27 forecast reducing 20% CO2 emission based on 1990 CO2 emission.

Li, Shenxue. "Strategic management of China local knowledge : European multinationals in China." Thesis, Durham University, 2004. http://etheses.dur.ac.uk/1265/.

Full text
Abstract:
China has been attracting significant foreign investment since it opened up. Yet, foreign investors' performance in this strategic market has been variable. Previous literature does not fully investigate the causes and forces that explain their performance differences. This study contributes to our understanding of this issue by looking into the role of local knowledge and investigating its management strategies. It examines the concept and the nature of local knowledge, identifies local knowledge sources, explores the local knowledge management process, and investigates its implementation in terms of resistances and strategies. The study first advances a general framework of knowledge management. It then introduces the key argument of this theoretical framework into the Chinese business context and develops a theoretical model of strategic management of China local knowledge, from which eight qualitative hypotheses are derived. A multi-method qualitative empirical study was undertaken in order to examine the concept of local knowledge and investigate how local knowledge was actually exploited by multinational firms. Eleven face-to-face interviews with managers from 11 European multinationals in 10 sectors, field observation of 2 Chinese projects involving 6 European companies, and 17 multi-level interviews with local managers from 4 Chinese organizations were conducted. The empirical findings were compared with the key arguments of the theoretical model in order to assess the extent to which they support the theoretical stand, and propose a justified model of strategic management of China local knowledge. It is concluded that the findings supported many, but not all, of the theoretical arguments. The most striking findings are as follows: First, unlike global knowledge transferred to China market, which is codified and accessible, China local knowledge is highly tacit, undiffused and fast-changing. It is this intrinsic and fast-changing nature of China local knowledge determines its greater impact upon the multinational firm's business performance in this dynamic market. Second, local knowledge cannot be effectively managed unless specific management conditions are created. These conditions include common knowledge, multi-layered knowledge interfaces, and a 'pull and push' system. Third, knowledge transfer is not an optimal choice of managing local knowledgc~ to exploit the full value of local knowledge both knowledge transfer approach and knowledge integration mechanism should be employed.

Abstract:
