Abstract:
Children’s literature is an area of frequent scholarship, reflecting its influential position in telling stories, developing literacy, and sharing knowledge in many cultures. At its best, children’s literature is transformative in the lives of children and their adult reading companions, and as such plays an important role in society. Indeed, in the last several decades, children’s literature has become an important focus of teaching and research in centres for literature and literary criticism, education, and library/information sciences in universities across the world. Much has been written about the historical undervaluing of children’s literature and research in this area (e.g., Nikolajeva, 2016). While there is considerable literature concerning the teaching of children’s literature in primary and secondary classrooms (e.g., Bland & Lütge, 2012; Arizpe & Styles, 2016; Ommundsen et al., 2021), there has been relatively little scholarship on the pedagogy involved in teaching children’s literature in a university setting with two notable exceptions. Teaching Children’s Fiction edited by Robert Butler (2006) presents eight chapters by experienced children’s literature teachers and scholars, mostly from Britain, concerning intellectual and educational traditions in children’s literature studies and teaching, sharing and discussion of teaching practices, and providing resources for teachers in this field. A Master Class in Children’s Literature, edited by April Bedford and Lettie Albright (2011), offers chapters in which children’s literature professors from across the United States of America share and reflect on their practice in relation to the structures of children’s literature courses, the characteristics and elements of children’s literature, and future trends and challenges in the teaching of children’s literature.

Abstract:
Learning media plays an important role in learning Arabic. Learning media is not only good for children’s students, but also for adult students. The learning media used to convey the contents of teaching materials consisting of books, tape recorders, tapes, video cameras, video recorders, films, photos, pictures, graphics, television and computers are components of learning resources that contain teaching materials that can stimulate a person to learn. . The use of audio media in Arabic learning is very important in the material الاستماع, the teacher who delivers material using audio media will make it easier for students to hear every vocabulary that is pronounced correctly. The use of visual media can increase students ‹interest in writing (الأنشاء) by relying on students› imaginations. Furthermore, through audio-visual media, students can get new experiences that directly touch the motivation to learn Arabic, audiovisual media in Arabic is also known as al-wasa›il al-sam›iyyah wa al-basariyyah (وسائل السمعية والبصرية). This type of research is library research (Library Research). This research is qualitative in nature because the object of research is in the form of learning media which is explained with descriptions of words so that it can be understood easily. Learning media are used in order to improve or enhance the quality of the teaching and learning process. With this media, it is hoped that the learning atmosphere will not be boring and become more interesting so that it can foster student interest in learning Arabic lessons and more importantly the achievement of the objectives of teaching and learning activities and the curriculum.

The role of libraries in education today is directed at implementing digitization, called library 4.0. There is a need for service innovation that is able to reach the needs of the digital natives. This study describes and analyzes the innovation of Library Services 4.0: Eco-Blended Libraries and Inclusion-Based Library at Universitas Negeri Malang’s Library. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data were obtained through interviews with librarians, observation and documentation. The results showed that in an effort to create a library ecosystem 4.0, the library has succeeded in implementing innovations. These innovations are in the form of an Eco-Blended Library program such as an e-book garden, Beringin Baca, a children's play ground, a library café, art performances, movie talk, and discussion booths. In addition, inclusion-based library is also developed with the Integrated Library Information System (SIPADU) facility digitizing collections in collaboration with Indonesia OneSearch, chat reference services, online loan and extension library collections, as well as information literacy. As a suggestion, the library needs to increase the number of human resources who might more focus on digital library services, further encouraging human resources to conduct online scientific publications and participate in online training forums or groups.

Abstract:
Abstract Using data from the 1995 Malawi Financial Markets and Food Security Survey, this study seeks to discover if rural Malawian women's relative control over household resources or intra-household bargaining power, gauged by their access to microcredit, plays a role in young children's food security. Access to microcredit is assessed in a novel way as self-reported credit limits at microcredit organizations. Since credit limits, that is, the maximum sums that might be borrowed, hinge upon supply-side factors such as the availability of credit programs and the financial resources of lenders, it is plausible they are more exogenous than demand driven loan uptake or participation in microcredit organizations, the common ways of gauging access to microcredit. It is found that household expenditure on food significantly increases in women's, though not in men's, access to microcredit. Thus, increasing rural Malawian women's relative control over household resources may yield children greater food security. It is also found that women's access to microcredit improves 0–6 year old girls', though not boys', long-term nutrition. Thus, empowering these women may deliver more benefit to girls than boys.

Abstract:
The moving image plays a significant role in teaching and learning; faculty in a variety of disciplines consider it a crucial component of their coursework. Yet little has been written about how faculty identify, obtain, and use these resources and what role the library plays. This study, which engaged teaching faculty in a dialogue with library faculty, revealed a gap between faculty’s film and video information retrieval needs and provision of access by the library. Ultimately, the findings of this study can inform and transform library practices to make more moving images available for use in coursework and research.

Abstract:
Both traditional and digital libraries are the storehouse of information and indispensable in this age of computerization and digitization of information. As cataloguing is one of the pillars of library services and because cataloguing plays a pivotal role for a successful library operation, a discussion and description of cataloguing process is inevitable. This chapter discusses the steps involved in cataloguing- descriptive, assigning a subject to the document and allocating a classification mark to the picked subject from the subject heading list. It also describes schemes which are specialized and deals only with the subject areas involved, like NLM (National Library of medium) classification scheme and Moys classification for law. The three basic types of classification structure - enumerative, analytic-synthetic, and faceted classification scheme are explained as well. The important activities of library automation, ways of doing copy cataloguing, meaning, procedures, and sources of copy cataloguing are also briefly explained. As automated library system is an important part of libraries nowadays, this chapter further discusses the meaning of computerized cataloguing: the MARC format/records. The role of MARC is also explained in the simplest terms possible as well as the basic information needed to understand MARC record.

Early literacy development starts from infancy and plays a crucial role in enabling early learning experiences and supports later academic achievement, social and emotional wellbeing, and enhanced productivity in life. However, the global response to the COVID-19 pandemic changed daily life for many families. Yet, children's education and development did not pause, and supporting children, families, and care providers of all kinds remained as important as ever. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted families' critical role in supporting young children's early education and development, including early literacy development. This chapter aims to provide families and early childhood education and care (ECEC) professionals with resources to develop early literacy skills in young children. The chapter also includes an overview of family practices to support young children's early literacy skills development at home and a review of reading initiatives and resources that supported families in developing early literacy skills in young children.

Abstract:
Case-based learning is one of the major pedagogical approaches applied in formal and informal teaching and learning. This article introduces an interactive digital case library which supports a full range of case study activities, such as case authoring, browsing, and annotating. Digital case libraries differ from common digital libraries in that resources of common digital libraries usually come from centralized sources, which are provided by the owners of digital libraries, such as university libraries, or publishers who run those digital libraries. Furthermore, cases usually come from distributed sources (i.e., course instructors, students, or real-world practitioners). Many cases are developed as by-products of teaching practice. For example, an instructor creates several cases for the class he or she teaches, and after created, these cases can be used for many years or shared with other instructors. Most case libraries currently available, however, do not support case authoring in such a distributed manner. This causes a version of “tragedy of the commons” in that users do not have means and motivation to contribute to the resources of digital library, and hence the value of digital case library and benefits of using it will be impaired greatly. One solution to this dilemma is to make the users perceive their contribution and authorship in explicit manners, provide convenient means enabling their contribution, and at the same time make the users experience the benefit of using the system. The interactive digital case library presented here plays two major roles. First, the digital case library is a Web application system, providing supports for participatory activities and case use; second, the system is a digital repository, collecting, storing, and retrieving cases. The idea is to provide services for community members to contribute and use what they have contributed. In this way, the value of the digital case library will increase and the community will be rewarded over time.

Abstract:
Libraries are storehouses of knowledge and act as disseminating agents for the knowledge producer because knowledge accrued from library is invariably implemented in creating new knowledge. The libraries are agents for knowledge collection, utilization, and dissemination. In all these processes, finance plays a major role. Shrinking budgets (Anna, 1994) and increases in available resources pressure collection development and the disseminating process. The strategies discussed in this chapter can to some extent help in sorting out this financial crisis depending on suitability and implementing standards. Library and information service is a noble service sector. It is not enough to concentrate on issues inside the library, but one needs to widen the service and address issues outside as well, factors like global warming, chronic health disorders, power shortage, diminishing funds, pollution, up to date literature collection, obsolete technologies, and so on.

The purpose of this chapter is to examine emerging technology and today's libraries. New technology stands out first and foremost given that they will end up revolutionizing every industry in an age where digital transformation plays a major role. Major trends will define technological disruption. The next-gen of communication, core computing, and integration technologies will adopt new architectures. Major technological, economic, and environmental changes have generated interest in smart cities. Sensing technologies have made IoT possible, but also provide the data required for AI algorithms and models, often in real-time, to make intelligent business and operational decisions. Smart cities consume different types of electronic internet of things (IoT) sensors to collect data and then use these data to manage assets and resources efficiently. This includes data collected from citizens, devices, and assets that are processed and analyzed to monitor and manage, schools, libraries, hospitals, and other community services.

The study sought to assess the role of information professionals in the provision information about the spread of COVID-19 in South Africa with the views of recommending best practices of disseminating public information. The qualitative approach was utilized to collect data from information officers. The researcher found that the majority of the public were not utilizing the information centre because of lack of awareness of information resource centre preserved by an information resource centre. The review found that information resources were not providing access to information centre effectively due to staff who lack appropriate skills and knowledge on public health awareness. It also appears that inadequate budget allocation to conduct public health awareness was lacking. Public awareness should be conducted in the Mpumalanga Provincial government. The research findings shed new lights on the perspective that information professional plays an essential role in promoting public health awareness.
