Abstract:
The city of Bandung and Subang are tourist attractions that offer a variety of entertainment, especially for family tourists in spending their vacation time. In supporting comfort and service so that tourists spend their time, it is necessary to support facilities ranging from hotels and restaurants that not only offer services for adult guests but also for children. The presence of children's guests is still often considered a minority by hoteliers. This can be seen from several hotels that have not considered the children's menu and facilities in the form of products or services that provide a sense of comfort and safety. This research is a descriptive quantitative study with a sample of hotels in Bandung and Subang where guests are family. The purpose of this study was to see how important the menu and facilities of children owned by hotel entrepreneurs in the City of Bandung and Subang. The results of this study indicate that hotel guest expectations regarding hotel services and facilities have an interval value of> 4.21, which means it is very important. Ratings with the highest scores are inclined to attributes of swimming pools and water parks, children's activities and play spaces as well as complete children's menus.

Abstract:
The management of the Keuliling Reservoir area as a tourist attraction is still lacking the attention of the government so that it affects the decline in the quality of reservoir facilities and infrastructures such as parking areas, mushallas, bathrooms, gazebos, view towers, and children's pools. This study aims to model the factors of ecotourism development in reservoir areas against local economic growth, and to find ecotourism development strategies in reservoir areas. This research uses qualitative methods through observation and interviews, and quantitative methods through distributing questionnaires. Respondents in this study aimed at residents of Bak Sukon Village, with a total sample of 87 people. The statistical method used is descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis using statistical software. The formulation of an ecotourism development strategy is carried out through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD), which consists of ten academics, community leaders, the private sector, and the community. The results showed that the model of ecotourism development factors in the Keuliling Reservoir area that influenced local economic growth in Bak Sukon Village were explanatory factors, improved facilities, ecotourism attractions, ecotourism access, ecotourism facilities, and service factors, with a regression model Y = 0.187X1 + 0,223X2 + 0,303X3 + 0,310X4 + 0,182X5 + 0,173X6. The strategy for developing ecotourism in the Keuliling Reservoir area is zoning, making local government policies, establishing an ecotourism management body, implementing ecotourism development, engaging community participation, and evaluating ecotourism area management activities.

This paper aims to study the storytelling method for early childhood education in the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad r, where many stories are told by the Prophet which contain educational values. Prophet Muhammad as a great educator realizes that the storytelling method is very effective in instilling faith and character building in children's souls, because in the storytelling method there is an attraction that can touch the souls of listeners/students as if he lives in the story and become one of the actors. The story method in Islamic education has functions and tasks that are not found in other educational methods, it is very effective for attracting the children’s attention and stimulating their brains well, and the story in the Hadith Al-Shareef has features that impact on children's psychology and education which are very strong, clear, and long-term. Therefore, The Prophet Muhammad is the most powerfull model for us in educating our children.

Abstract:
Background In a hospital setting, pediatric patients miss out on routine stress coping mechanisms, such as normative play, socialization, and exploration. Previous work has established that a lack of healthy coping mechanisms negatively impacts the psychosocial development and well-being of hospitalized children. To help alleviate the stress of hospitalization, we created a novel, normative play robotics program that utilizes telepresence technology to give children live, virtual tours of museums and cultural attractions. Objective The objective was to 1) demonstrate feasibility, and 2) assess quality and impact on mood of telepresence tours as a new normative play intervention. Methods A prospective, cross-sectional study was conducted on inpatients at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center and the University of Maryland Children's Hospital from the ages of 3 to 19. Subjects were selected through convenience sampling by Child Life Specialists. The intervention consisted of a 30-minute session in which a volunteer: 1) remotely connected a laptop in the hospital room to a telepresence robot at the Maryland Science Center or the National Aquarium; 2) introduced the child to their venue tour guide and taught the child how to drive the robot, and 3) facilitated a tour in conjunction with the venue tour guide on site with the robot. Feasibility was assessed by the rate of completed tours. Quality of the experience and mood were evaluated with surveys answered with a 5 or 7-point Likert scale. Surveys were administered in 2 phases: phase 1 evaluated quality of the experience after the tour, and phase 2 included the phase 1 survey plus mood assessment before and after the tour. The two-tailed Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to determine statistical significance in difference in mood before and after the tour. Verbal consent was obtained from patient guardians and assent was obtained from the patient. Results 77 tours were conducted with pediatric inpatients, and no tours were terminated due to technical difficulty. Out of 77 children, 68 completed surveys. In phase 1 (n=40) participants’ average age was 7.8 years. On average, patients rated their overall experience a 4.8/5, ease of driving 4.1/5, ease of communicating with other guests at the venues a 4.3/5, and their tour guides a 4.7/5. In phase 2 (n=37), average age was 10.1 years. Children’s self-reported mood improved from pre-visit (3.7/5) to post visit (4.4/5) (P<.001). Additionally, patients rated their overall ease of driving 5.8/7, ease of communicating with other guests at the venues 5.3/7, and their tour guides 6.8/7. Conclusions Patients reported positive assessments of their overall experience, ease of driving, communication with tour guides and guests at the venues, and elevated mood after the tour. This study demonstrates that telepresence tours are a feasible and enjoyable intervention for hospitalized pediatric patients, and significantly improve mood. This unique program adds to existing child life specialist strategies by allowing children to engage in normative behaviors outside of the hospital. This novel use of telepresence robotics as a normative play intervention warrants future studies to further characterize the improvement in mood and impact on the patient’s overall hospital satisfaction.

Abstract:
Identifying social and psychological influences affecting children’s attitudes about physical activity is an important step in understanding individual differences in children’s activity involvement. This study examined the influence of parental socialization and children’s psychological characteristics upon attraction to physical activity. Fourth-grade children (N=81) completed questionnaires assessing perceived physical competence and attraction to physical activity. Parents also completed questionnaires assessing their physical activity orientations and level of encouragement of their child’s physical activity. A proposed model linking four sets of social and psychological variables was tested through path analysis. The results generally supported the hypothesized model and suggested that parental physical activity orientations, parental encouragement levels, children’s gender, and children’s perceived physical competence are important influences upon children’s attraction to physical activity.

Abstract:
Background:The Youth Physical Activity Promotion (YPAP) model provides an integrated approach to understanding the predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing factors influencing physical activity (PA) behavior. The purpose of this study was to evaluate an adapted version of the YPAP model for explaining PA among Portuguese schoolchildren. Methods:A random cross-sectional sample of 683 children (8–10 years of age) attending elementary public schools in the north of Portugal completed a detailed survey assessing attraction to PA, perceived physical competence, parental influences and leisure time PA. Structural equation modeling techniques were conducted (EQS6.1).Results:Attraction to PA was directly associated with children’s PA participation (β = 0.271, P < .05). Perceived physical competence imposed an indirect effect on children’s PA through children’s attraction to PA (β = 0.253, P < .05). Parental influence had an indirect effect on children’s PA through perceived physical competence and attraction to PA (β = 0.318 and 0.662, respectively, P < .05). Perceived physical competence and parental influence were not directly associated with children’s PA (β = 0.069 and 0.180, respectively, P > .05).Conclusions:The adapted version of YPAP model was useful in explaining PA participation in elementary Portuguese schoolchildren. Intervention programs intended to enhance attraction to PA, perceived physical competence and favorable parental influence should be developed to promote children’s PA participation.

Abstract:
According to motivational theory physical self-perceptions are crucial to the intrinsic desire to engage in physical activity through play, games, and sport. While there has been prolific research with middle primary and older children little is known of the importance of young children's physical self-concept and their motivation to engage in physical activity. This study had three major purposes. Firstly it aimed to examine the relationship between children's self-concept, their attraction to physical activity, and level of physical activity. The second purpose of the study was to examine differences between boys' and girls' self-concept, attraction to physical activity and level of physical activity. The third purpose was to examine the effectiveness of an intervention programme designed to enhance children's level of physical activity.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to answer the question: how do children influence attraction choice while on vacation? A cross-sectional, self-administered, web-based survey of 99 adult facilitators visiting one of three tourist attractions in Winnipeg, Canada with at least one child between the ages of six and 17 was used to: 1) gain insight on how groups with a child/children prefer to travel; 2) understand the reasons why groups with a child/children choose to visit a select type of attraction; 3) examine the views of adult facilitators who travel with a child/children on the child/children’s participation with regards to the selection of tourist attractions; and 4) investigate which attraction characteristics adult facilitators believe provide their entire group with the most satisfying experience. Results indicate that children have relatively little direct influence within the family or group unit on attraction choice.

With the advent of the digital age, children nowadays live in the world of information since birth. They enjoy learning, entertainment, and interacting with friends via the Internet. The skills of using information technology have become the key abilities among the children in twenty-first century. To meet the need of the digital natives, implementation technology into education becomes an essential and innovative trend. In addition, the habits and need of browsing the webpage among the children come to be an important topic. Webs are composed of different elements with layout, color, fonts, graphics, animation and hyperlink etc. Whether the users like or dislike the webs design are determined by the first impression when opening the webpage instantly. Therefore, the critical factors to determine whether a school webpage is success or not, lies in corresponding with children’s cognitive development, presenting the school characteristics and the learning thematic images, and creating the visual environments that children prefer. The current study adopts the approach of the convenient sampling distributing questionnaires to children as participants in Ruey-Tarng Primary School in Taoyuan County. Through collecting the data four times, the current study investigates the extent to which the visual design and style image of the webpage draws children’ attraction. In the pilot study, the effects of webs visual designs of elementary schools in Taoyuan County on attraction and preference in children were examined. Moreover, the related adjective semantic language are collected and screened. In line with the concept of Taguchi Method, the current study uses Orthogonal Array to design different factors and levels of webpage samples and utilizes S/N ratios to explore the combinations of images, preferences, and levels of optimization. Last, the optimized samples are designed and confirmed. The results indicate that the children prefer the webpages with following primary characteristics: one-column, high and opposite chromaticity, sequential animation, fonts- graphics ratios of 3:1 to 5:1, mixed usages of text, logo, picture icons, and usages of comic fonts. These characteristics of web designs can increase the levels of beauty perception and attraction as well as preference. The design of icon and revision of background are the key elements to determine the image, attractiveness, and preference of the webpages. The results of this study can be a reference for the web visual design of elementary school in the future.

Abstract:
Since 2009, the KidBurg Group has been developing children's educational projects in edutainment format. In total, the network has 18 venues with a total area of more than 33,000 square meters. There are three formats of projects: the city of professions, a museum of entertaining science, and an interactive museum-theater. The life path of KidBurg is of interest: from an entrepreneurial project for its children to a federal player. Children's business was built on “adult” laws with the involvement of real investors. The history of KidBurg will be useful to those who think about starting a business in the field of education. The chapter will touch on the issues of creating a project concept from scratch, of implementing the educational component without the involvement of the school and educators, creating and protecting intellectual property, creating a new culture of leisure and attracting investment. KidBurg has become a new social phenomenon. In this chapter, the authors talk about the role of KidBurg in the development and upbringing of modern children and their parents.

Abstract:
This chapter focuses on acts of reading, and on the nature and circumstances of childhood encounters with the Arabian Nights in Britain, both as a collection of narratives and as a series of objects such as books, pictures, and toy theatres. Despite their association with the innocent joys of childhood throughout the nineteenth century, the tales of the Arabian Nights were neither written nor designed for children. It was their abiding attraction to children that led to their designation as children’s literature, and also to their continued use as metaphors for adult fantasies and constructions of childhood. As the time and space of childhood were increasingly associated with the time and space of these Oriental tales, the Arabian Nights came to operate not only as a souvenir of childhood, but as metonymic of childhood itself: exciting, unpredictable, and culturally and temporally other.

Abstract:
The experience of psychological and pedagogical support of gifted children, which consists mainly in the creation of certain conditions in a private educational institution is presented in the article. On the basis of a private lyceum named after G.V. and N.G. Riumin of Ryazan, created by the founder N.V. Riumin – candidate of psychological sciences and by its director L.I. Arkharova – candidate of pedagogical sciences, head of the Pedagogy and Teacher Education Department at FSBEI of HE " Ryazan State University named for S. Yesenin", the experience of cooperation of higher education and general education institutions in the formation and upbringing of gifted children has been studied. L.I. Arkharova’s psychological and pedagogical competencies and long experience enabled to create the conditions for attracting the best teachers of Ryazan. Being rather a small city, when the teachers of the FSBEI of HE " Ryazan State University named for S. Yesenin" know the best of the best by sight, teach the potential teachers a worthy education and “see” the situation from the inside, close cooperation and interaction can be observed. Entering the lyceum, children individually reveal their potential being surrounded by care, warmth, love and attention to the personality of everyone.

Abstract:
Child-Resistant packaging is substantial requirement especially when it is related to pharmaceuticals. Children under five years old are the most groups in risk of drug poisoning, as a result of their constant passion and attracting their attention to medicines, especially the distinctive color and small size. Due to the presence of medicines for adults, especially chronic diseases that require the presence of the drug always at home with exciting properties for the passion of a young child who is affected by colors and the small size which they can insert easily into their mouths. The child-resistant features attached to packages may present a problem (e.g., how to open the package) to its potential user (child or adult). Many of these features are used with the primary packaging and less for the secondary ones. Are these features efficient with available cost or not. Evaluation of each one might be varied according to package structure, level and child behavior. Therefore, the importance of adding some features in the pharmaceutical packaging Child-Resistant, in order to achieve the safety of children with a targeted age (children under 5 years old). By adding these special properties to the pharmaceutical packaging it will affect the design of the pharmaceutical packaging. Finally, this paper aimed to review and evaluate the child resistant features & securing methods that are used with pharmaceutical products in the Egyptian market, with which are available globally, then make a comparison between them by description and analysis.

Abstract:
The author has been successful with Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Site for the past 15 years attracting funding from the National Science Foundation for the intense 10-week summer research program for undergraduate students in the field of additive manufacturing and its variety of applications in many disciplines. In the current site, a novel undertaking was initiated by asking REU participants, who are junior and senior year undergraduate standing at the time of participation, to come up with ways they can communicate their research to K-12 students and provide teachers a tool for teaching some concepts in the area of their research. Seven modules have been developed by the seven participants and the modules have been found to be very attractive to the teachers in K-12. The paper presents the inner workings of the undergraduate participants getting out of their comfort zones from research to pedagogy about their own work, especially when we need such role models for our children in K-12. It is also exciting to see teachers willing to take REU participants’ finished modules for potential use in their classrooms.

Full text
Abstract:
At present, coastal cities in advanced countries are losing their vitality and their sprawl has been depriving these cities of the unique attraction provided by their coastal position with seaside spaces. For the vitalization of coastal cities, it is important to increase the visiting population to seaside spaces from other areas. While the rapid development of advanced countries in the modern era has been founded on the economic order originally established by the Industrial Revolution, the phenomenon of an aging society with fewer children which is currently in progress makes such economic foundations vulnerable, constituting a social problem which must be urgently dealt with. This study features the planning of signs as a technique for the development of a universal design in consideration of the imminent increase of the number of the elderly and disabled and as a measure to increase the visiting population to vitalize coastal cities while focusing on the planning of signs as a system to assist ocean recreational activities. The underlying concept is that these activities have the potential to secure or even increase the number of visitors to seaside spaces which have a variety of resources and characteristics. As the introduction of a new strategic concept for the planning of signs as a measure to increase the number of visitors is essential, the focus is placed on pictogrammes which are visual signs with a superior information conveyance function to other types of signs. The outcomes of this study presented here are (i) techniques to configure pictogrammes which are easy to understand by all and which are capable of inducing people’s desire for actions and (ii) concrete pictogramme designs.
